- Rob (AI host): You open the HubSpot app between meetings, and instead of a dashboard, it hands you a to-do list. Dana (AI host): HubSpot calls it the Action Feed: meetings, tasks, and follow-ups, each with a next step one tap away. Rob (AI host): Stay for the fourth card, the one that only shows up when a customer writes back. Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies. Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI. Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you. Rob (AI host): Quick heads-up: Dana and I are AI hosts. Rob (AI host): We don't drive between meetings, and we're reading HubSpot's Action Feed help article, updated in late October. Dana (AI host): Shame, because today I'm playing a regional rep who drives between dental offices all day and works from the car. Rob (AI host): Then this was built for you. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help article says that if you're a sales rep, the action feed helps you stay on top of daily action items, right from the home screen. Dana (AI host): What's actually on it? Rob (AI host): You can prep for upcoming meetings, complete tasks, finish post-meeting actions, and reply to recent emails, all in one place. Dana (AI host): Does it replace my whole home screen? Rob (AI host): Not quite. Rob (AI host): HubSpot says the action feed is part of the Sales and the Sales and Marketing experiences in the app. Rob (AI host): If your Home screen is set to either one, you scroll to the Action Feed cards. Dana (AI host): And if I'm set to Marketing? Rob (AI host): Tap the Menu icon in the top left, then Selected Experience at the top, and pick Sales, or Sales and Marketing. Rob (AI host): Then scroll down on Home. Dana (AI host): Oh, so it's not a takeover. Rob (AI host): Right. Now the first card. It's called Prep for, and then the number of upcoming meetings. Rob (AI host): Meetings with an orange bar were created in HubSpot. Rob (AI host): A purple bar means the meeting synced from an outside calendar. Dana (AI host): Color coding I can read at a stoplight. Well, after the stoplight. Rob (AI host): Please. Rob (AI host): Tap a meeting, and you can tap Prepare for this meeting to prep with Breeze, or tap a record name to see the contact or company. Dana (AI host): And if I want the full meeting? Rob (AI host): Tap View meeting. From there you can change the meeting outcome or add internal notes. Rob (AI host): To record an in-person meeting with the mobile Notetaker, tap Start next to Record this meeting. Dana (AI host): What if I don't want a meeting cluttering the card? Rob (AI host): Tap Dismiss. HubSpot is clear that dismissing doesn't delete the meeting. Rob (AI host): It stays on your calendar, and you can still open it from your engagements in the app. Dana (AI host): Rob, what happens after the meeting? Rob (AI host): That's the second card, Review next steps. Rob (AI host): Tap a meeting, and Notetaker gives you a summary for a quick reminder. Rob (AI host): Tap View recording for the recording and transcript, or View next steps for recommended follow-up actions. Rob (AI host): Tap a next step to complete it. Dana (AI host): And if I dismiss that one? Rob (AI host): The recorded meeting stays. Rob (AI host): You can still review the recommended follow-ups under the Actions tab on the meeting. Rob (AI host): Here's a hypothetical. A made-up rep, Leo, has four office visits before lunch. Rob (AI host): Between stops he opens the feed, taps Prepare for this meeting on the next one, records it, and in the parking lot reviews next steps from the last. Dana (AI host): Ha, the parking lot office. Dana (AI host): Does Leo need signal to record in a basement office? Rob (AI host): No. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's Notetaker article says you can record offline, then connect the recording to the meeting and the CRM record once you're back online. Rob (AI host): Third card: Complete, then your number of tasks. Tap a task. Rob (AI host): For a call task, tap Prepare for this call, then Call to dial. Rob (AI host): For an email task, tap Draft a reply to have Breeze write one, or Email to open the editor. Rob (AI host): Then Mark as complete. Dana (AI host): And dismissing a task deletes it? Rob (AI host): No. It only drops off the feed on your Home screen. Rob (AI host): The task itself is still waiting in your task list in the app. Rob (AI host): Why it matters: the follow-up happens between stops, not at a desk that night. Dana (AI host): That gap right after a meeting is where deals stall, and it's exactly where this feed earns its spot. Rob (AI host): And who gets the most out of it? Dana (AI host): Our research names field reps on the road, sales managers who need accurate pipelines, RevOps teams who own data quality, and small sales teams with heavy meeting loads. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): A smart home screen won't fix a team that still logs deals on sticky notes. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): We train your reps inside your own portal, on your real pipeline, and each role gets the tools it actually uses, from sequences to forecasting. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Every session is recorded for future hires, and we come back to check adoption. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): It's under services at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Dana (AI host): Rob, where did our August write-up go wrong? Rob (AI host): Three places. First, it says the Action Feed launched with three card types. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help article lists four: meetings, next steps, tasks, and CRM activity. Dana (AI host): Hm, four cards, not three. Dana (AI host): So what's the fourth? Rob (AI host): CRM activity shows recent replies from your contacts. It only appears when a contact has replied. Rob (AI host): Tap a reply, then Draft a reply, with Breeze Assistant to help, or View contact activity, or Dismiss. Rob (AI host): View all activity at the top opens your full feed. Rob (AI host): Second, plans. Our write-up said every hub and tier, including free. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's August post lists the mobile home screen for Sales Hub Pro and up. Rob (AI host): The help article now says all products and plans. Rob (AI host): Those don't line up, so check your own app. Dana (AI host): So which source wins? Rob (AI host): The help article is the newer page, updated in late October. Rob (AI host): But until HubSpot's pages agree, open the app and look before you plan any training around it. Dana (AI host): And the recording part? Rob (AI host): The next-steps card depends on recorded meetings. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's Notetaker article lists Sales Hub or Service Hub, Professional or Enterprise, and an assigned Sales or Service seat. Rob (AI host): Third, our write-up describes accepting CRM property updates in the feed, a Generate follow-up email button, and a goal it calls Action Feed Zero. Rob (AI host): We didn't find those on HubSpot's help page, so treat them as unconfirmed. Dana (AI host): Fair. So what does my week one look like? Rob (AI host): Step one: set your Home screen to Sales, or Sales and Marketing. Dana (AI host): Step two: check your seat and plan with your admin, so you know whether the next-steps card will ever show up. Rob (AI host): Step three: before each meeting, tap Prepare for this meeting. Dana (AI host): Step four: record the in-person ones, then clear next steps before you start the car. Rob (AI host): Step five: dismiss freely. Nothing you dismiss gets deleted. Dana (AI host): Windshield verdict: switch your Home screen to Sales today, but don't promise the team post-meeting magic until you've checked seats. Rob (AI host): Before you hit the road tomorrow, open the app, scroll Home, and count your cards. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's help articles, the August product updates, and our research are linked in the show notes, with more at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Rob (AI host): Thanks for listening, and safe driving between stops. Dana (AI host): Clear the cards, then drive. Narrator (AI voice): Sidekick's What Just Shipped is presented by Sidekick Strategies, with AI hosts Rob and Dana and AI-generated music. Narrator (AI voice): We're independent, and not affiliated with HubSpot. Find our research at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
