- 1:18Speaker 4: I want to go to a whiteout game.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I have been. It is fantastic trail.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Okay, thank you. Yeah, I have to go check out
- 1:24Speaker 4: that experience one time.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Tallahassee State College is probably very different.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, very different. Yeah, absolutely, but the atmosphere yeah incredible. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Hey, listen, it's great to have you. We're here in Martin,
- 1:34Speaker 3: New Jersey at Chicki's and Pete's awesome show tonight Tuesday.
- 1:38Speaker 3: We got listen. You know, Andrew and and Trey. You
- 1:41Speaker 3: guys know, Eagles fans ride or die every Sunday, Thursday
- 1:46Speaker 3: Monday night, whenever the Eagles playing.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I'm not sure that Eagles fans are yet.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Like the color has returned to their face from that
- 1:54Speaker 3: game Sunday, that thirty three twenty six win over the Rams.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You Andrew and I were there as reporters. Trey, I
- 2:00Speaker 3: saw you.
- 2:00Speaker 2: At the game.
- 2:01Speaker 3: But I think we need to do a check around
- 2:03Speaker 3: the delvo to make sure pulses are okay.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Do that was pretty crazy.
- 2:07Speaker 4: That was a wild game, you know, to just see
- 2:10Speaker 4: the ebbs and flows of it, you know, to see
- 2:12Speaker 4: how okay you come out of the gain, come right
- 2:14Speaker 4: out the gate, drive down and score and then you're like,
- 2:17Speaker 4: wait a minute, hold on, you know, you know you
- 2:19Speaker 4: see that Lane Johnson goes down. And I think that
- 2:23Speaker 4: when Lane went down, you could just see how much
- 2:26Speaker 4: he means meant to this team. I think it took
- 2:28Speaker 4: a lot of win out of the sales, you know,
- 2:30Speaker 4: to see a leader like that go down. But these
- 2:33Speaker 4: young guys, your young core guys, where you're looking at
- 2:36Speaker 4: what's going on on the defensive side of the ball.
- 2:38Speaker 4: And then Jalen Hurts just saying, all right, I'm gonna
- 2:40Speaker 4: rally the troops. This right here is what that team
- 2:43Speaker 4: is all about. And to go out there and fight
- 2:46Speaker 4: and find a way to win that game. It was
- 2:47Speaker 4: absolutely amazing.
- 2:48Speaker 3: This is how far Andrew and you know this that
- 2:50Speaker 3: the Eagles have come over the last three to four
- 2:53Speaker 3: to five years. There used to be there was a
- 2:55Speaker 3: guarantee in life, right, what do they say, death taxes?
- 2:59Speaker 3: And if Lane Johnson and doesn't play for the Eagles.
- 3:01Speaker 2: They lose, That's right.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Their record without Lane Johnson was terrible compared to their
- 3:05Speaker 3: record with But as Howie Roseman has built the roster
- 3:08Speaker 3: up and the depth on the offensive line, we know
- 3:11Speaker 3: the Eagles focus on it more so than most teams.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It's not that way anymore.
- 3:16Speaker 3: And you get guy like we'll talk about Matt Pryor
- 3:18Speaker 3: in a second. But Fred Johnson comes in absolutely and
- 3:21Speaker 3: he holds the four down and plays so well.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it was kind of I guess it was kind
- 3:25Speaker 5: of surprising to me that the Eagles didn't go to
- 3:27Speaker 5: Fred Johnson initially, because I mean, I was under the
- 3:30Speaker 5: assumption that he was going to be their sixth offensive linemen,
- 3:32Speaker 5: their you know, swing tackle on game day. But Fred
- 3:35Speaker 5: Johnson did not rep at right tackle at all that week.
- 3:38Speaker 5: That was Matt Pryor. Matt Pryor had repped at right
- 3:40Speaker 5: guard and right tackle in training camp. So you gotta
- 3:43Speaker 5: give credits to the Eagles for pulling the plug when
- 3:45Speaker 5: they realized after fifteen snaps that it wasn't working out
- 3:48Speaker 5: with Matt Pryor.
- 3:49Speaker 2: But that's why Fred Johnson's here.
- 3:50Speaker 5: That's why the Eagles went out and got him before
- 3:52Speaker 5: the season to bolster the depth and give them someone
- 3:55Speaker 5: who they can count on in a critical moment like that.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, true, that's an interesting point he's making
- 4:00Speaker 3: because and you know, just out literally, well you've coached
- 4:03Speaker 3: on a team with him. I haven't seen him put
- 4:06Speaker 3: a guy in and then pull a guy as quickly
- 4:08Speaker 3: as he did. With Matt Pryor, he's generally, I want
- 4:10Speaker 3: to say, stubborn in a good way where he feels
- 4:12Speaker 3: like the guy and the decisions he makes will work.
- 4:14Speaker 4: I mean, he gave him two quarters. He did. He
- 4:16Speaker 4: gave him two quarters, and I think he waited until
- 4:18Speaker 4: after halftime. You know that last sec fumble. He was like,
- 4:21Speaker 4: all right, that's it, you know what, I got to
- 4:23Speaker 4: make the pull. But okay. So one of the things
- 4:26Speaker 4: that you have to go look back at is how
- 4:27Speaker 4: coach Stotland coaches his offensive line. He does not flip
- 4:31Speaker 4: you know, so guys. He usually if Matt Pryor is
- 4:34Speaker 4: your right side guy, Matt Prior is your right side guy,
- 4:36Speaker 4: that's how he's going to train. Fred Johnson is your
- 4:39Speaker 4: left side guy. He does not allow guys to really
- 4:42Speaker 4: go from left to right. And that's just how he
- 4:44Speaker 4: trains it. I think it's smart to do it, you know,
- 4:47Speaker 4: just because the muscle memory that has to happen once
- 4:51Speaker 4: guys switched sides, it's very difficult to bounce back and forth.
- 4:55Speaker 4: So that was one of the things that made it
- 4:57Speaker 4: so impressive for Fred Johnson to step in and say,
- 5:00Speaker 4: all right, I'm gonna play right tackle. You know, I
- 5:04Speaker 4: don't think he's taking a rep on the right side
- 5:07Speaker 4: since he's been back, you know what I'm saying, because
- 5:10Speaker 4: he's always been the left side guy. That's it. So
- 5:12Speaker 4: it has been weeks. He probably only had had a
- 5:15Speaker 4: chance to take a couple of sets when when when
- 5:19Speaker 4: Stout said, hey, man, if these things go bad, I
- 5:21Speaker 4: need you to get ready to go, he probably took
- 5:23Speaker 4: a couple of sets on the side. All right, let's go.
- 5:25Speaker 4: You got to go, and to go out there and
- 5:27Speaker 4: to hold it down the way he did. Fred Johnson
- 5:30Speaker 4: played a hell of a game. Yeah, absolutely did I
- 5:33Speaker 4: love it.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:34Speaker 3: The one thing I like about Fred, and by the way,
- 5:35Speaker 3: it was probably I'm gonna congratulate you on saying something
- 5:38Speaker 3: nice about a Gator. I know, I know that I
- 5:41Speaker 3: know them probably I know you know Winter's inside.
- 5:44Speaker 4: And then seeing him going against my former seminole as well,
- 5:48Speaker 4: you know, I'm like, oh, yeah, they're so torn, you know.
- 5:51Speaker 4: But but Fred, man, I mean, he just came out there.
- 5:53Speaker 4: He played really extremely well. It was very balanced. When
- 5:58Speaker 4: you saw him go out there, he played with extension.
- 6:01Speaker 4: That's what you want to see when you're talking about
- 6:04Speaker 4: offensive line play. I want you to play with long arms.
- 6:07Speaker 4: You're not bodied up, and then you start to see where. Okay,
- 6:10Speaker 4: they felt like, you know what, we don't have to
- 6:11Speaker 4: slide this line to you. We don't need to have
- 6:14Speaker 4: Saquon Barkley protect you, because when you try to protect
- 6:18Speaker 4: a play on the offensive line, then you expose the quarterback.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Because one of those sacks happened because Saquan was there
- 6:23Speaker 4: trying to help Matt pryor get inge and then you
- 6:26Speaker 4: got a guy come up to be gap Boom, that's
- 6:28Speaker 4: a sack. So anytime you try to protect the play
- 6:30Speaker 4: on the offensive line, you expose the quarterback.
- 6:33Speaker 3: All right, So the Eagles, as we all know, we
- 6:35Speaker 3: all saw it, they get down twenty six to seven
- 6:38Speaker 3: after being up seven to nothing. They go three and out,
- 6:42Speaker 3: then three and out, then three and out.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Then they kneel down it before the half. Then they
- 6:46Speaker 2: go three and out again.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And I can't believe it, the defending Super Bowl champs,
- 6:50Speaker 3: Andrew you were there, how loud you could hear the
- 6:53Speaker 3: booze already coming down in Week three for a two
- 6:56Speaker 3: and zero team, But it was ugly. The offense just
- 7:00Speaker 3: had no life to it after that first touchdown. When
- 7:04Speaker 3: you look back on it, right and you've seen this
- 7:06Speaker 3: offense be explosive, was there anything in your mind that
- 7:08Speaker 3: might have triggered you that something was coming or were
- 7:11Speaker 3: you thinking this might be the day they don't figure
- 7:13Speaker 3: it out?
- 7:14Speaker 5: Well, when you don't, when you see the Rams not
- 7:15Speaker 5: be able to capitalize and settle for field goals, you
- 7:18Speaker 5: get into halftime and you think, well, if the Eagles
- 7:21Speaker 5: are able to figure this out again, any semblance of
- 7:23Speaker 5: offense going, they're going to fight their way back into
- 7:25Speaker 5: this game. And there's if there's one thing that I've
- 7:27Speaker 5: learned from covering this team under Nick Sirianni, it's that
- 7:30Speaker 5: they are a brasilient bunch. They don't flinch no one
- 7:33Speaker 5: and they realize that it takes a collective effort to
- 7:35Speaker 5: get it done.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And that's what you saw on the second half. As
- 7:38Speaker 2: soon as they.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Put Fred Johnson in there and they're able to run
- 7:40Speaker 5: their offense and not be limited.
- 7:42Speaker 2: You saw what they were able to do. They open
- 7:43Speaker 2: things up.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Sure, and Trey, just from your own experience, I mean,
- 7:46Speaker 3: you've been a player, You've been in situations like that.
- 7:49Speaker 3: The Eagles had some unbelievable comebacks during your heyday. What
- 7:53Speaker 3: is it like when you kind of have a period
- 7:57Speaker 3: of a game like that where the offense cannot do anything.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Do guys pull together? Do they get frustrated? What's that feeling.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I think there is some frustration because you're trying. I mean,
- 8:07Speaker 4: you're trying to make that play work. But I think
- 8:10Speaker 4: you also look at all right, hold on, we're running
- 8:13Speaker 4: these plays into some bad situations. I think the Rams
- 8:15Speaker 4: that an excellent job of defending in the run. They
- 8:18Speaker 4: came in and they loaded the box. They played five
- 8:20Speaker 4: down whenever they could, and everybody says, all right, well, hey,
- 8:24Speaker 4: just run the ball. It's not to me, all right.
- 8:27Speaker 4: As an offensive lineman, I'm a pass first guy. Look,
- 8:31Speaker 4: I want to pass first because if I can spread
- 8:34Speaker 4: you out, then I can light you up in the
- 8:35Speaker 4: run game. And that's why, to me, I feel like
- 8:38Speaker 4: pass opens up the run. I don't want to use
- 8:40Speaker 4: run to open up the pass. I want to use
- 8:42Speaker 4: pass to open up the run. Especially when you have
- 8:44Speaker 4: aj Brown, you got Slim on the other side, you
- 8:48Speaker 4: got Dallas Goddard, you have way too many weapons and
- 8:50Speaker 4: an offensive line that is extremely good at protecting. I
- 8:54Speaker 4: would I would to me I would air it out
- 8:56Speaker 4: as much as possible, make you play me in a
- 8:58Speaker 4: six man box, and then then now come and light
- 9:01Speaker 4: you up with the run.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Does it feel like Auskin is both of you trail
- 9:04Speaker 3: star with you? Do you feel like I hear what
- 9:07Speaker 3: you're saying? And that's certainly some Andy Reid Era's let's
- 9:09Speaker 3: do that. But under Nick Sirianni and with Jillen as
- 9:13Speaker 3: the quarterback, they've never really, outside of a game here
- 9:16Speaker 3: or there, decided they were gonna come out and throw
- 9:18Speaker 3: the ball to sixty five seventy percent clip they general.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Now I'm not saying, well, that's what I was asking you.
- 9:23Speaker 3: How do they find that balance between passing more to
- 9:27Speaker 3: be less conservative, as aj Brown would say, and yet
- 9:30Speaker 3: not coming out of their their comfort zone of what
- 9:33Speaker 3: who they are.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I would say that let's go more, a little bit
- 9:35Speaker 4: more eleven personnel, let me spread you out a little
- 9:38Speaker 4: bit more. All I need is a tight end on
- 9:40Speaker 4: the line of scrimmage every now and then. I don't
- 9:41Speaker 4: need two tight ends. This offensive line does not need
- 9:44Speaker 4: everybody petted into the box. If you could give me
- 9:47Speaker 4: one tight end every nine and then I'm good And
- 9:49Speaker 4: Coach Stoughton is one of them. This when you go
- 9:51Speaker 4: back and you look at the runs that have been
- 9:53Speaker 4: extremely effective for this offensive line have been inside zone runs.
- 9:57Speaker 4: And the only way you can make inside zone run
- 10:00Speaker 4: is you spread everybody out and you make it that
- 10:03Speaker 4: five to six man box.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I agree.
- 10:06Speaker 5: I think you go eleven more eleven personnel in that situation.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Spread spread them out a little bit, which you can
- 10:11Speaker 5: run from by sure, of course, it gives you optionality,
- 10:14Speaker 5: and I think that that's something that as the Eagles
- 10:16Speaker 5: start to work through the season, you have to wonder
- 10:18Speaker 5: if that's something that they're going to implement a little
- 10:20Speaker 5: bit more of.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Right, are you guys into analytics like EPA Expected points?
- 10:24Speaker 2: Nahna?
- 10:24Speaker 3: All right, Well, usually they'll tell you something, even if
- 10:28Speaker 3: they're misleading. The Eagles did lead the NFL last year
- 10:31Speaker 3: an EPA out of eleven personnel when they ran the ball,
- 10:34Speaker 3: so they certainly don't have to be in as much twelve.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Which is two tight ends for those listening at all,
- 10:39Speaker 3: as much as maybe they feel like they need to be.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Well, because everybody plays a version of nickel where you're
- 10:44Speaker 4: gonna get four down linemen and two linebackers and the
- 10:47Speaker 4: rest of these secondary players. So if I can line
- 10:50Speaker 4: up in an eleven personnel and maybe had that tight
- 10:53Speaker 4: end there every nine, then then now I'm getting a
- 10:55Speaker 4: six man box, and I like my five or six
- 10:59Speaker 4: against your five six all day. And then if you
- 11:02Speaker 4: try to bring a safety in there, I got receivers
- 11:04Speaker 4: that can come up there and we'll light you up.
- 11:07Speaker 4: So that's why I feel eleven personnel it suits his
- 11:10Speaker 4: team a lot better, especially when you're dealing with a
- 11:12Speaker 4: Sakuon Barkley, the type of running back that you're.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Absolutely all right.
- 11:15Speaker 3: So the big question coming out of this sort of
- 11:18Speaker 3: jeckle and high performance that a lot of fans and
- 11:21Speaker 3: people want to know is was that dormancy in the
- 11:25Speaker 3: first half play calling, execution, or play design what Andrew?
- 11:31Speaker 5: In my opinion, it's always a culmination of both or
- 11:34Speaker 5: all three in your case, because I mean, it's hard
- 11:37Speaker 5: to just pinpoint it solely on play calling because there
- 11:39Speaker 5: are plays there to be made.
- 11:41Speaker 2: There are in every game.
- 11:42Speaker 5: So I think to to kind of put the onus
- 11:44Speaker 5: on Kevin Pittulo as being I guess him being the
- 11:48Speaker 5: anchor that's holding this offense back, I think that's a
- 11:51Speaker 5: little short sighted, but I saw a lack of execution
- 11:54Speaker 5: as well. We had a unique vantage point watching it
- 11:56Speaker 5: pretty much an all twenty two view in the press box,
- 11:59Speaker 5: and there were plays there to be made.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah, before you answered that, I also want to throw
- 12:04Speaker 3: into this because you have the experience of having to
- 12:07Speaker 3: go from one offensive coordinator to another to another.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Who was who was the first one for you? Was
- 12:11Speaker 2: it came out when Andy came well?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah?
- 12:17Speaker 3: And then was it Brad Childrens after that or that
- 12:21Speaker 3: bire May?
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:24Speaker 4: Right. I was just like, I don't know who's calling,
- 12:25Speaker 4: call it and let's go. I didn't care.
- 12:27Speaker 3: But did you ever feel like a guy needed a
- 12:30Speaker 3: few games to figure it out?
- 12:31Speaker 4: Even even after you know what, I wasn't the type
- 12:33Speaker 4: of player to think about that. You know, I had
- 12:35Speaker 4: my hands full. I got the baddest pass rush over me.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I ain't got time to be worried about what you call.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Just call it, and then half the time it was
- 12:42Speaker 4: going to be a pass anyway, So you know, right, right,
- 12:46Speaker 4: But I think that it was a little bit of both.
- 12:49Speaker 4: You know, when you have lane go down, I'm just
- 12:51Speaker 4: saying I think the importance of lane going down was
- 12:53Speaker 4: extremely important. With this offense, and then you got my
- 12:56Speaker 4: Matt Pryor going out there. He probably thinking, in this game,
- 12:58Speaker 4: you know what Lane is going to play. This is
- 13:01Speaker 4: gonna be one of those games that he's gonna play
- 13:02Speaker 4: the entire game. You know, he wasn't ready to get
- 13:04Speaker 4: in there and step in and have to hold down
- 13:07Speaker 4: the fort. But you never know when your name is
- 13:09Speaker 4: gonna be called, and that's what you should always be ready.
- 13:11Speaker 4: But you know, to me, I think that that took
- 13:14Speaker 4: a lot of win out of the cell and then
- 13:16Speaker 4: they felt like, all right, you know what you can't protect,
- 13:18Speaker 4: so you're gonna have to run, so we're gonna load
- 13:20Speaker 4: the box. And I think a lot of that effected
- 13:23Speaker 4: hod this offense was going for the first half.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah, one thing, I think we can all like calm
- 13:29Speaker 3: the best the masses the best we can, which is
- 13:31Speaker 3: kind of crazy because the team's three and zero, but
- 13:33Speaker 3: there is a lot of Kevin Batulo doesn't know what
- 13:35Speaker 3: he's doing. But just like the coordinators we said under Andy,
- 13:39Speaker 3: whether it was Dana or Marty or Brad, they were
- 13:41Speaker 3: running an offense Andy wants. They were running his version
- 13:44Speaker 3: of the West Coast. When you watch them succeed along
- 13:48Speaker 3: with when they're they're still running the same play concepts,
- 13:51Speaker 3: the same play design. This is still the Eagles offense
- 13:55Speaker 3: that we've seen the last three years. It's just I
- 13:57Speaker 3: think when when you have a new play caller, it's
- 13:59Speaker 3: just does have a fuel for when to call those
- 14:02Speaker 3: same plays that somebody else might have called at a
- 14:04Speaker 3: different time.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Does that make sense, Yeah, I mean a fuel.
- 14:07Speaker 5: He just called his third game ever as a play caller,
- 14:10Speaker 5: and I think that's really important and whether or not
- 14:12Speaker 5: folks like to accept it or not, I mean, the
- 14:15Speaker 5: month of September by and large in the NFL is
- 14:17Speaker 5: viewed as an extension of the preseason. It's preseason for
- 14:20Speaker 5: the play caller. It's preseason for offense, defense, and special teams.
- 14:23Speaker 5: I went on the record before the season started at
- 14:26Speaker 5: Circling Week five, is when you're really gonna get a
- 14:28Speaker 5: sense for what their identity is on the offensive side
- 14:31Speaker 5: of the ball and defensive side of the ball, and
- 14:32Speaker 5: what they're ultimately going to be.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Trey.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Also, to hammer home a point you made earlier about
- 14:38Speaker 3: what the Rams were doing defensively, they came into the
- 14:41Speaker 3: game blitzing at a twelve percent rate, Okay, that's really low,
- 14:46Speaker 3: third lowest in the league.
- 14:48Speaker 2: In that game, they blitzed at over a thirty five
- 14:50Speaker 2: percent rate.
- 14:51Speaker 3: So I think what you're seeing here is teams are
- 14:54Speaker 3: going a little bit out of character because it's really
- 14:57Speaker 3: hard to beat the Eagles, so they got to figure
- 14:59Speaker 3: out a way to do some different things. And that
- 15:02Speaker 3: causes the Eagles issues because, as you hear a coaches
- 15:04Speaker 3: say all.
- 15:04Speaker 2: The time, unscouted looks things they don't prepare for.
- 15:08Speaker 4: You know what. Okay, well, yeah, you go back and
- 15:11Speaker 4: you look at how this offense has handled the blitz. Now,
- 15:14Speaker 4: I mean you go back and you look at what
- 15:15Speaker 4: they did against Kansas City and you're dealing with Steve Spagno.
- 15:18Speaker 4: You're one of the best blitzers in the game, and
- 15:20Speaker 4: they locked him down. They did a heck of a
- 15:24Speaker 4: job of redirecting, making calls. Landon Dickinson is the one
- 15:27Speaker 4: that makes all the calls and he directs that offensive line,
- 15:29Speaker 4: so he's extremely important when it comes to that. But
- 15:32Speaker 4: when you blitch this offensive line, Coach Dollen has prepared
- 15:36Speaker 4: these guys well enough that they pick up the blitz
- 15:38Speaker 4: a lot and they do a really good job with it.
- 15:40Speaker 4: You go back and you look at this game. There
- 15:42Speaker 4: were some wild stunts that they switched off and was
- 15:44Speaker 4: able to handle it, and they would give him a
- 15:47Speaker 4: chance to get the ball out. But you know if
- 15:49Speaker 4: you blitz them, all right, cool, somebody has to be
- 15:52Speaker 4: open on the edge and you have the dogs out
- 15:54Speaker 4: there that can make those plays.
- 15:55Speaker 2: And those dogs came through in the second half. Of course.
- 15:58Speaker 2: All right, we gotta take a break. Here.
- 16:00Speaker 3: You're listening to the Pro Football Report presented by BCWSA

- 17:08Speaker 1: Once again, here are your hosts from Inside the Birds,
- 17:12Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Andrew Ditchecko.
- 17:17Speaker 3: That's right, we're joined by former Eagles offensive tackle, a
- 17:21Speaker 3: Hall of Famer Eagles Hall of Famer Trey Thomas Ye
- 17:24Speaker 3: and it's time now for this week's injury review, brought
- 17:27Speaker 3: to you by the attorneys at Bagley, Carlin and Mandio.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Contact them today for a free consultation at two one
- 17:34Speaker 3: five eight zero six three six eight nine. That's two
- 17:38Speaker 3: one five eight zero six three six eight nine. Well,
- 17:43Speaker 3: when we talk about the injury report, obviously we talk
- 17:46Speaker 3: about the guy we've been talking about that they missed
- 17:48Speaker 3: for most of that game, Lane Johnson, who sustained a
- 17:52Speaker 3: neck injury in the game.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I don't believe he was in the locker room after
- 17:56Speaker 2: the game now did he talk. I don't think he talked.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Usually the guys who get hurt don't talk. They don't
- 18:02Speaker 2: want to talk about it.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I don't want to speculate, but Trey, you play the position,
- 18:06Speaker 3: you hurt your neck. It's probably probably not great for
- 18:09Speaker 3: any position that you played, but I can't imagine it's
- 18:11Speaker 3: great for lineman. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's about it, right, Yeah,
- 18:14Speaker 3: I don't you know, so they said he had a stinger.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 18:19Speaker 3: That is an injury that has like a various degrees
- 18:22Speaker 3: of Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I've seen guys going.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you know, you know, I'm you know, oh,
- 18:27Speaker 3: I know, I know you played.
- 18:29Speaker 4: With I know, but you know, but hey man, you know,
- 18:33Speaker 4: if you've never had one, it could be you know
- 18:37Speaker 4: yeah yeah yeah, so yeah, I don't know. I hope
- 18:41Speaker 4: he's back next week, you know, but if not, then
- 18:44Speaker 4: you give Fred Johnson a week to kind of get
- 18:46Speaker 4: himself together, so that gives coach Stoutland time to kind
- 18:49Speaker 4: of work with him, which I think Coach Stoutland was
- 18:51Speaker 4: one of the best in the game when getting guys ready.
- 18:54Speaker 4: You know what, you know, when we had the Hall
- 18:56Speaker 4: of Fame game, you know, no, not the Hall of
- 18:58Speaker 4: Fame game, the alumni game. We all came back and
- 19:01Speaker 4: you know, I wanted to go down on the field
- 19:02Speaker 4: and coach go see Coach Stotland, because I'm like, look, man,
- 19:05Speaker 4: the biggest feather in Coach Stotland's cap to me is
- 19:10Speaker 4: what he did with Makai Beck then and making him
- 19:13Speaker 4: a left taking a left tackle and putting him in
- 19:15Speaker 4: right guard and what one game? Yeah, a preseason yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 4: and making him a Pro Bowl right guard and into
- 19:23Speaker 4: what two weeks? And I think that that's when Coach
- 19:25Speaker 4: Stoutland is one of the best in the game when
- 19:27Speaker 4: it comes to that. So if you if Lane can't go,
- 19:29Speaker 4: all right, you have a full week to get Fred
- 19:33Speaker 4: ready to go. And I have I'm okay with that,
- 19:35Speaker 4: and you.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Would have to think it would be Fred taking the
- 19:37Speaker 3: reps to right tackle this week.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Absolutely, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Other injuries that happened in the game, well, Darius Cooper
- 19:44Speaker 3: went out by the way, only like you know, us
- 19:48Speaker 3: three who kind of watched the tape and find things
- 19:51Speaker 3: that the common person might not see on TV. They
- 19:54Speaker 3: have snuck Darius Cooper into games as eleven personnel, but
- 19:59Speaker 3: they're using them. I don't want to say like Johnny Wilson,
- 20:01Speaker 3: but they always run. Yeah, with him in the slot.
- 20:03Speaker 3: They clearly like his strength and the push wide receiver.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, the push. He's actually playing more snaps than than
- 20:09Speaker 2: John Metchi. Yeah. How about that over the last two
- 20:11Speaker 2: weeks because of a being on the in the short
- 20:14Speaker 2: yardage to push.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:15Speaker 2: They like his toughness and physicality.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Nick Sirianni talked about that after he had made the
- 20:19Speaker 5: team that he's sort of the grimy type of player
- 20:21Speaker 5: who can do some of the things that Johnny Wilson
- 20:23Speaker 5: was able to provide for the offense.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Yeah, And now he left with a shoulder, shoulder right, right.
- 20:29Speaker 3: And then the last that was one more injury, Dory Jackson.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Dorry Jackson. Yeah, that's gonna be an interesting one.
- 20:35Speaker 5: He left with a groin injury and he did not
- 20:37Speaker 5: return that game. Ja, Cory and Bennett came in. Looked
- 20:39Speaker 5: like he may have gotten a little dinged on that
- 20:40Speaker 5: field goal block when he took out the punter.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Vic Fango said something interesting.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Today about Keey Ringo said that at the end of
- 20:47Speaker 5: the summer, he said, I told I told Keeley to
- 20:49Speaker 5: you know your time' is gonna come, You're gonna play,
- 20:51Speaker 5: so stay ready. He also said that about Jacorey and Bennett.
- 20:54Speaker 5: After I asked him about him, what have you seen
- 20:56Speaker 5: from him? He said, oh, he was gonna play for
- 20:58Speaker 5: us this season. They also had mac mcway James, the
- 21:00Speaker 5: rookie corner from UCF who's mostly a nickel. He's mostly
- 21:03Speaker 5: been playing nickel, but he can play outside as well,
- 21:05Speaker 5: so they have some optionality if a Dory can't go.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Okay, now, we did have a fan walk up to
- 21:11Speaker 3: us and ask do you think the Eagles will bring
- 21:13Speaker 3: in another offensive tackle or cornerback? And I think we
- 21:16Speaker 3: automatically ruled out offensive tackle unless Lane was gonna miss
- 21:20Speaker 3: a long time.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I don't think that's the case.
- 21:22Speaker 3: But corner now is an area Andrew where you just
- 21:25Speaker 3: said they have some bodies, but it's one also an
- 21:27Speaker 3: area where how he is just always poking, always lurking,
- 21:31Speaker 3: seeing if there's.
- 21:31Speaker 2: A better deal around the corner.
- 21:34Speaker 5: As Adam Kaplan likes to say, you know, depth isn't
- 21:36Speaker 5: about how many players you have at one position.
- 21:38Speaker 2: It's about the quality of those players.
- 21:40Speaker 5: This is a really good opportunity for them to learn
- 21:43Speaker 5: about what they have in Keeley, Ringo, Jacory and Bennett
- 21:46Speaker 5: right ahead of the trade deadline so that you can
- 21:48Speaker 5: get a better assessment of what that room is, what
- 21:50Speaker 5: kind of depth do you have there, and then you
- 21:53Speaker 5: kind of go from there. But if there's a better option,
- 21:56Speaker 5: you know that Howie Roseman's gonna leave no stone unturned
- 21:58Speaker 5: for the betterment of that team.
- 22:00Speaker 3: And then the last one he didn't play, but he's
- 22:02Speaker 3: starting to get I guess ramped. Back up would be
- 22:04Speaker 3: Will Shipley, the backup running back who was supposed to
- 22:07Speaker 3: again we talk about some of the offense and the
- 22:09Speaker 3: newer concepts, but he's been hurt so they haven't been
- 22:12Speaker 3: able to really use them.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Yeah, so will practice the last two days of last
- 22:17Speaker 5: week in a limited capacity. One would think that barring
- 22:20Speaker 5: you know, if he doesn't have a setback, he will
- 22:22Speaker 5: be able to go this week.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And watching how they were unable to feel.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Those knuckleballs on the kickoffs, it made you really, you know,
- 22:30Speaker 5: wonder for how much Michael Clay missed Will Shipley back
- 22:32Speaker 5: there because he reads those those type of uh, those
- 22:35Speaker 5: type of balls and and and those type of.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Things very well.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Sure, what do you think we got dynamic kickoffs. Now
- 22:41Speaker 3: we got knuckleball kickers. Is this the further removed you
- 22:45Speaker 3: get from this game?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Are you worried about.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Like it's gonna I don't know if he'sa happy Gilmore too.
- 22:49Speaker 3: And the crazy golf thing where they're playing in.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Snowy yeah weird. Yeah, I mean to have that problem though,
- 22:56Speaker 4: you know, as a kickoff.
- 22:58Speaker 2: For come on, man, I'm with you. I get it once, right,
- 23:01Speaker 2: because you can't practice against it. But this is time. Yeah,
- 23:05Speaker 2: five times, two guys too. Five times.
- 23:09Speaker 5: And they brought Tank Bigsby here with the primary objective
- 23:12Speaker 5: with him being the kick returner initially, and he had
- 23:16Speaker 5: at least one or two Metchi had a couple that.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I mean they Michael Clay, the Eagles special teams Cordator,
- 23:22Speaker 5: talked about that today about how Jake Eliot and Braden
- 23:25Speaker 5: Man tried to really hone in on what Joshua Cardy
- 23:28Speaker 5: the Rams kicker was doing, and they weren't able to
- 23:30Speaker 5: even replicate that because they hadn't seen it before.
- 23:33Speaker 2: So I don't even know how you would practice that.
- 23:34Speaker 5: But you almost have to act like a shortstop I imagine,
- 23:37Speaker 5: and being able to kind of square your body off
- 23:40Speaker 5: that that's kind of the way that he was acquitting.
- 23:42Speaker 2: What's that The ball still.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Goes, it just doesn't spend, you know, Like that's one
- 23:47Speaker 4: of those positions that I really respect because I mean,
- 23:49Speaker 4: you know, there's a lot that's happening. I mean, I mean,
- 23:52Speaker 4: but you still got to kick. He's still just kicking
- 23:54Speaker 4: the ball, kicking the ball, all right, So he's putting
- 23:56Speaker 4: like a little curve on it.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Right English, Yeah, I could change up.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I guess like you ever see a wider you ever
- 24:02Speaker 3: see a quarterback yet hit while he's throwing and the
- 24:05Speaker 3: ball floats in the air and somebody figures out a
- 24:07Speaker 3: way to still catch it and run. It seems like
- 24:10Speaker 3: the Eagles couldn't get that part of it. Like the
- 24:12Speaker 3: balls in the air, it ain't spinning like it normally spins.
- 24:14Speaker 3: It's just kind of floating.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Just catch it. It's not that hard.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Well, you figure, I feel like the first or second one,
- 24:21Speaker 5: you figure you'd have a grasp on it on how
- 24:23Speaker 5: to get a better read on it.
- 24:24Speaker 2: But here we are.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder if Michael Clay anybody played baseball here,
- 24:28Speaker 3: you know, just looking for someone who's seen it change up.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I can understand a.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Knuckleball figure out, go ahead, go go go return it
- 24:35Speaker 3: tray two blocked field goals.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Amazing, amazing.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Now I want you to give us your most scientific
- 24:43Speaker 3: X and OH breakdown of how this happened to the
- 24:46Speaker 3: Rams in the most important moment for them.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Offensive lineman hate field goal protection? Why because all you're
- 24:52Speaker 4: doing is just taking a leak. Everybody just sits there
- 24:55Speaker 4: and you like, all right, you know what you always talked,
- 24:58Speaker 4: all right, I want to take my a gas b
- 25:00Speaker 4: gap or whatever. You want to step step and then
- 25:03Speaker 4: you just sit there and you just allow that defensive
- 25:06Speaker 4: lineman to just run through you, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:09Speaker 4: and you're all just like you know, everybody's like, all right,
- 25:11Speaker 4: I want to just step step and then you just
- 25:13Speaker 4: take it. And you want to just die a slow
- 25:16Speaker 4: death because you're gonna die. You're dying, you know what
- 25:20Speaker 4: I'm saying. But you want to die a slow depth
- 25:22Speaker 4: because you're taking two guys to the chest and you
- 25:25Speaker 4: just like, Lord, please just hurry up and kick this
- 25:27Speaker 4: ball so we can get this over with. And a
- 25:29Speaker 4: lot of times guys kind of just coast through it
- 25:32Speaker 4: because you feel like all right, you know it's you
- 25:35Speaker 4: know it's a feel goal. Kick the ball, but man,
- 25:38Speaker 4: these guys came through back to back.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I wonder does it make it different the
- 25:44Speaker 3: way the Eagles align Carter and Davis right next to
- 25:48Speaker 3: each other. And then I believe on the game winning
- 25:50Speaker 3: or losing for them kick that was a backup guard in.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Ken Kevin Dotson. It was Bolimmer. Bolimmer right, who was
- 25:58Speaker 2: a center, I think, right backup center.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's about I have the punch, punch and
- 26:04Speaker 4: die slow. He didn't have to die slow part. And
- 26:08Speaker 4: then you got Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, who is
- 26:12Speaker 4: just absolutely massive running right down the middle of you.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Like what there's even if he was able to set
- 26:18Speaker 4: and bull and hop on it, there was nothing he
- 26:21Speaker 4: could do. And then I mean, Jordan Davis is what
- 26:23Speaker 4: he's what sixty six? I mean, that's a massive individual.
- 26:28Speaker 4: And then he puts his hands up there blocks the
- 26:30Speaker 4: field goal. First of all, you had Jalen Carter come
- 26:33Speaker 4: through on the first one and block it, who's a
- 26:36Speaker 4: beast of his own. And then Jordan David comes through,
- 26:39Speaker 4: blocks the field goals, scoops it up and strikes whatever
- 26:43Speaker 4: it is to come to spread.
- 26:48Speaker 5: He was clocked at eighteen point five to nine miles
- 26:51Speaker 5: per hour.
- 26:51Speaker 2: How does he run faster than me by two hundred? Well, no,
- 26:56Speaker 2: I wish, but Jalen Carter said he's way faster than me.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's pretty I mean, how many teams put their
- 27:03Speaker 3: starting dts out there on field goal kicks?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Does everybody do that? Okay? I'm just making sure pretty.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Sure everybody you know goes out there for for field
- 27:11Speaker 4: goal block? Yeah, you know, because you got to have that.
- 27:13Speaker 4: You just never know, right, you know. It's not like
- 27:15Speaker 4: an extra point where you're just like, all right, everybody,
- 27:17Speaker 4: come off. This is gonna be a you know, a handy,
- 27:19Speaker 4: you know. But for a field goal, now, we need
- 27:21Speaker 4: all hands on deck, especially in that particular situation. Right.
- 27:25Speaker 3: And yet, despite what you said about how difficult it
- 27:29Speaker 3: is that people running at you, field goals are kicked
- 27:32Speaker 3: at a pretty much eighty five and higher percent regularity
- 27:35Speaker 3: these days. So even though the offensive lineman got to
- 27:38Speaker 3: take it on the chin, you don't see it let
- 27:41Speaker 3: alone once but twice in the same quarter, and then
- 27:46Speaker 3: the Jets did it later. And of course, in Jets fashion,
- 27:48Speaker 3: they've lost.
- 27:51Speaker 5: And uh, Michael Clay highlighted Byron Young and Moro Jomo
- 27:56Speaker 5: also for what they were able to do on that
- 27:58Speaker 5: play as well.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Right, and did what specifically did you guys see from that?
- 28:02Speaker 3: Were they just getting through their gay because they did
- 28:04Speaker 3: collapse the entire side of that line.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that.
- 28:07Speaker 5: Yeah, they dominated their side of their their side of
- 28:10Speaker 5: the line, and it made it all It kind of
- 28:11Speaker 5: muddy things up. Yeah, Jordan Davis completely just walked bo
- 28:15Speaker 5: Lemmer back into the kicker, and you saw what happened.
- 28:18Speaker 3: We're gonna go to a break in a second. I
- 28:20Speaker 3: just have to ask this as we go in your
- 28:21Speaker 3: you're Sean McVay. You've done everything you absolutely can to
- 28:25Speaker 3: win this game and you lose it in that fashion.
- 28:28Speaker 2: How do you sleep that night? We can do you
- 28:31Speaker 2: sleep that night?
- 28:32Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah he does?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he goes you know, he goes home.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Is it like Andy, Like I thought you were gonna
- 28:43Speaker 2: bring it up that he's married to a model.
- 28:44Speaker 3: So all right, great talk, great talk. In the next segment,
- 28:49Speaker 3: we're gotta get talk about sakuon Barkley and how to
- 28:51Speaker 3: get this guy sprung.
- 28:52Speaker 2: We'll do that. We gotta take a break.
- 28:54Speaker 3: We are you are listening to the Pro Football Report

- 31:32Speaker 3: Call today at two six seven nine nine seven four
- 31:35Speaker 3: five three or visit Penworth dot com. All right, well,
- 31:40Speaker 3: the Eagles, it does not get any easier, by the way,
- 31:43Speaker 3: this schedule, it never does. They just went and beat
- 31:45Speaker 3: an undefeated team, and now they have to go and
- 31:47Speaker 3: play another undefeated team, one that has their number, so
- 31:52Speaker 3: to speak, especially in their stadium, Raymond Jayden Stadium, home
- 31:56Speaker 3: of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have really taken it
- 31:59Speaker 3: to the Eagles over the last few years. Now there
- 32:02Speaker 3: will not be a Mike Evans, it sounds like for
- 32:04Speaker 3: the Bucks. So that limits them. They still are without
- 32:06Speaker 3: Chris Godwin. However, how do the Eagles get their offense
- 32:10Speaker 3: going quicker? And not just the pass offense. But the
- 32:13Speaker 3: run offense, Saquon Barkley, he is waiting to break out, Andrew,
- 32:18Speaker 3: what's gonna happen here?
- 32:20Speaker 5: Well, I mean, they have to find a way to
- 32:22Speaker 5: get him rolling. Honestly, it feels like they're like they're
- 32:24Speaker 5: just a play away. And Kevin Patulo spoke today about
- 32:28Speaker 5: the coaching staff need to collaborate and figure out a
- 32:30Speaker 5: way to create more space for Saquon. But while I
- 32:33Speaker 5: think some of that has to do with play calling,
- 32:36Speaker 5: I can't help but wonder watching the tape if he's
- 32:38Speaker 5: pressing a little bit.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And I'm curious to get Trey's take on this.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Saquon Barkley's averaging just three point three yards per carry
- 32:45Speaker 5: based off of tape study, Trey, what are you saying
- 32:48Speaker 5: and what can the Eagles do to get him rolling?
- 32:50Speaker 4: Pass the ball? So to pass the ball, you need
- 32:55Speaker 4: to be able to spread it out. You need to
- 32:56Speaker 4: stop going with this twelve personnel trying to go with
- 32:58Speaker 4: two Titans. I think you go a little bit more
- 33:00Speaker 4: eleven personnel, spread everybody out, you get a six man box.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Because coach Stoutling is one of the best in the games.
- 33:06Speaker 4: When you're talking about combination, blocks, and whenever you can
- 33:09Speaker 4: get combination blocks, that's where you're operating Coach Stotlin's wheelhouse.
- 33:13Speaker 4: So for you to be able to do that, you
- 33:15Speaker 4: need to be able to air it out. You gotta
- 33:17Speaker 4: pass it. You're gonna have to get aj Brown, You're
- 33:18Speaker 4: gonna have to get Slim involved. You have to hit
- 33:21Speaker 4: some tight end runs, I mean tight end passes, get
- 33:23Speaker 4: Dallas involved. But for me, you got to spread this
- 33:26Speaker 4: out because if not everybody's gonna play you five down,
- 33:29Speaker 4: put two linebackers in there. Theyre gonna make it hard
- 33:31Speaker 4: to run. And I don't care how many you can
- 33:32Speaker 4: sit up here and say, hey, we gottaet them going,
- 33:34Speaker 4: we gotta get them gone, we gotta get it one. Well,
- 33:35Speaker 4: you got seven eight nine in the box, seven to
- 33:37Speaker 4: eight in the box. You're not gonna get him going.
- 33:40Speaker 2: You've seen tape, you've watched it.
- 33:43Speaker 3: I'm wondering if you think at all, because there was
- 33:47Speaker 3: sort of a I don't know want to call it
- 33:49Speaker 3: a narrative, because some of it is true.
- 33:51Speaker 2: If you look at running backs who have touched.
- 33:53Speaker 3: The ball as much as Saquon Barkley touched it last year,
- 33:56Speaker 3: it's hard for them to duplicate that success and they
- 33:59Speaker 3: wear down. But when you're watching him on tape, you're
- 34:01Speaker 3: not seeing Are you seeing anything differently from me?
- 34:03Speaker 4: No? I know I'm not seeing any wearing down of Saquan. No,
- 34:07Speaker 4: not at all. I mean you saw a play just
- 34:10Speaker 4: in that last drive that they had where Saquan comes
- 34:13Speaker 4: up in the hole. You got a defensive end that
- 34:15Speaker 4: crashes that he spins off of him and still hits
- 34:18Speaker 4: the front side gap. I think Saquan is still an
- 34:21Speaker 4: extremely great athlete. There's no slowdown in his you know,
- 34:25Speaker 4: he's definitely haven't lost his step. It's just that you
- 34:28Speaker 4: you're running him into a five six seven man box,
- 34:31Speaker 4: right you know when they're playing five down with two
- 34:33Speaker 4: linebackers over the top that you know, it makes it hard.
- 34:36Speaker 4: You need to be able to throw the defense out
- 34:38Speaker 4: of that, throw him out of it so that they
- 34:40Speaker 4: play the pass light in the box, and then now
- 34:42Speaker 4: you get this offensive line getting combination of blocks and
- 34:44Speaker 4: then you'll see Saquon really take off.
- 34:46Speaker 3: And to your point on how they're playing a lot
- 34:48Speaker 3: of twelve personnel and putting two tight ends on the
- 34:50Speaker 3: field lately and trying to run their second tight end
- 34:54Speaker 3: is not a very good blocker, so I almost sometimes
- 34:56Speaker 3: wonder if if it's working against them. And to trace
- 34:59Speaker 3: point in, Drew, put three wides, spread out the defense
- 35:02Speaker 3: a little bit and give yourself some more lanes instead
- 35:04Speaker 3: of just trying to put grank Kalkatara out there and
- 35:06Speaker 3: ask him to block at the end.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I'm in agreement.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I'm not so sure why they're going twelve heavy twelve,
- 35:11Speaker 5: especially you know the previous week when Dallas Gotter wasn't there,
- 35:14Speaker 5: there was a lot of twelve personality surprise. So you're
- 35:16Speaker 5: putting Grant Calcatara and Kylon Grants and there. Kylon Granson's
- 35:19Speaker 5: not an inline blocker, nor is Grant cal Katara. I'm
- 35:22Speaker 5: interested to see if they utilize Cam Latu, who they
- 35:24Speaker 5: elevated from the practice squad a little bit more. He's
- 35:26Speaker 5: a much more physical blocker at the point of attack.
- 35:29Speaker 5: But they need to go more eleven. And so I'm
- 35:32Speaker 5: in full agreement with what Trey was saying. But to
- 35:34Speaker 5: kind of further debunk the narrative that that Sakuon barkleays
- 35:37Speaker 5: maybe running out of steam coming off that two thousand
- 35:39Speaker 5: yard season. You see the toughness and physicality and contact
- 35:42Speaker 5: balance that he's running with from first quarter to quarter four.
- 35:46Speaker 5: So you're not able to do that if you're running
- 35:48Speaker 5: out of steam. I think he's got plenty of juice. Now,
- 35:50Speaker 5: it's just about execution and getting things rolling offensively to
- 35:54Speaker 5: better balance out what they're trying to do.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I think one of the things that you're going to
- 35:57Speaker 4: see as well, and this is just because all right,
- 35:59Speaker 4: so let's just talk about this real quick. Whenever you're
- 36:01Speaker 4: in a gun progression and you're in the gun formation
- 36:04Speaker 4: and you have running back to the right, nine times
- 36:06Speaker 4: out of ten, what you're gonna get is a three
- 36:08Speaker 4: technique away from him and a one technique that's on
- 36:11Speaker 4: his side. So I think one of the things that
- 36:13Speaker 4: you're going to have to start doing if you really
- 36:16Speaker 4: want to see this offensive line take off, is start
- 36:19Speaker 4: running the same side inside zone where you say, okay,
- 36:22Speaker 4: I want sae quant to just take a step left,
- 36:24Speaker 4: and then we're going right back into that one technique
- 36:26Speaker 4: because now you're gonna get combination block combination block on
- 36:30Speaker 4: the back side. So that's how you start forcing some
- 36:33Speaker 4: of those matchups when everybody says, all right, you know
- 36:36Speaker 4: what he's in the right, we're gonna put the three
- 36:38Speaker 4: technique opposite of him, So that shuts down a lot
- 36:40Speaker 4: of that. And I think also one of the things
- 36:42Speaker 4: that you need to do is if you're gonna have
- 36:44Speaker 4: the tight end on the line of scrimmage and if
- 36:47Speaker 4: you have a possible combination block up to the second level.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I cannot have that tight end try to jump around
- 36:53Speaker 4: the defensive end to shoot up there to that linebacker
- 36:55Speaker 4: because it muddies everything up. I would rather than work
- 36:58Speaker 4: together with the tackle, get some push, and then now
- 37:01Speaker 4: we make something happen.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Sure.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Sure, So the running a counter almost right where he
- 37:06Speaker 3: sort of runs in the same direction where he.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Just steps to the left, all you gotta do is
- 37:11Speaker 4: take a little step to the left, give the lineman time,
- 37:13Speaker 4: and then you come right back to it. You saw that,
- 37:15Speaker 4: You go back and you look at what the Fred
- 37:17Speaker 4: Johnson to play. That they ran on the right side
- 37:19Speaker 4: where Fred Johnson not that defensive end and he went
- 37:22Speaker 4: up phel That was the same side inside zone run.
- 37:25Speaker 4: It's just a defensive end crash. Fred knocked him down
- 37:28Speaker 4: and just kept climbing up to the second level. So
- 37:30Speaker 4: it's something that they're already doing. It's just that they
- 37:33Speaker 4: got to kind of keep going doing it a little
- 37:35Speaker 4: bit more.
- 37:35Speaker 5: And by the way, while we're on the subject of
- 37:37Speaker 5: offensive lineman, Tray, i'd love to hear your opinion on
- 37:39Speaker 5: what you've observed from Tyler Stein through the first three games.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Yeah. You know what, when you look at first of all,
- 37:45Speaker 4: the right guard is the hardest position on that offensive line,
- 37:49Speaker 4: just because you're the one that has to do the
- 37:51Speaker 4: silent count. You have to turn and you're doing running
- 37:54Speaker 4: silent count at home, you know, So it's not just
- 37:57Speaker 4: you know, so sometimes you're operating as soon as you
- 38:01Speaker 4: turn your head around, you chat the center, and you
- 38:03Speaker 4: just got to trust whatever the call is that's there.
- 38:06Speaker 4: But I think that he's been doing extremely well. I
- 38:09Speaker 4: think Seeing has been a really good guard. There at
- 38:12Speaker 4: times that I feel like he gets a little bit
- 38:14Speaker 4: off balance and gets lost in space, but I think
- 38:17Speaker 4: overall he's a really good guard.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I always felt bad, Tray to your point about those
- 38:22Speaker 3: right guards for teams like out in LA or when
- 38:25Speaker 3: the Chargers of San Diego and they were playing the
- 38:27Speaker 3: East Coast team and their fans were they'd have more
- 38:30Speaker 3: East Coast fans right opponent fans in their stadium and
- 38:34Speaker 3: they'd be really loud, and then the home team.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Would have to go to a silent count.
- 38:38Speaker 3: It's one of the advantages you should I know, sometimes
- 38:40Speaker 3: you do have to use a sound count at.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Home, but not always, and they just never had that advantage.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Well, you know what, for me, especially when we started playing,
- 38:47Speaker 4: you know, I preferred the silent count. Oh you know
- 38:50Speaker 4: what I'm saying instead of cadence because at times sometimes
- 38:53Speaker 4: the quarterback they start, especially with me, now you know,
- 38:56Speaker 4: he would get into your case. So it's blue Eddy
- 38:58Speaker 4: eight blueya said. So when we used to look at
- 39:01Speaker 4: these tackles and the way they get that jump, they're
- 39:03Speaker 4: not looking at the ball. They're off the rhythm of
- 39:05Speaker 4: that cadence. And if there's any lag in that cadence,
- 39:08Speaker 4: if the if the quarterback sees the safety, he blew
- 39:11Speaker 4: it blue it, they're gone, you know, just because they're
- 39:14Speaker 4: used to the rhythm of it. But for me, I
- 39:17Speaker 4: preferred the silent count because I knew was his head turned,
- 39:20Speaker 4: I was gone. So I prefer that rhythm, especially when
- 39:24Speaker 4: we're in no huddle. If we're in no huddle, I
- 39:27Speaker 4: want to do silent count just because I can time
- 39:30Speaker 4: that a little bit better than having to deal with
- 39:32Speaker 4: the cadence.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Interesting I would have not.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Yeah, let's flip sides because one of the biggest issues
- 39:42Speaker 3: for the Eagles when they face the Bucks is that
- 39:45Speaker 3: Todd Bowles wakes up and gets out of bed thinking
- 39:47Speaker 3: of his next blitz, and he doesn't just know it's blitz.
- 39:51Speaker 2: He disguised as blitz.
- 39:53Speaker 3: He breaks down protection schemes as well as anybody in
- 39:57Speaker 3: the sport.
- 39:58Speaker 2: So as an offense lineman, tray when you.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Know you're going up against the guy who's gonna put
- 40:03Speaker 3: a lot of guys a scrimmage, try to mess up
- 40:05Speaker 3: your blocking patterns. You're gonna go five zero at sometimes
- 40:08Speaker 3: and then he's not even gonna bring five if he
- 40:10Speaker 3: brings four. Right, how important is it to be? I
- 40:14Speaker 3: guess the communication? How difficult does that to deal with?
- 40:17Speaker 4: Oh? Everything is from Landon Dickerson. Landon Dickerson controls that
- 40:20Speaker 4: offensive line. Now you know Cam Jurgen, he makes a
- 40:23Speaker 4: couple of calls, but Landon Dickerson is the one that
- 40:26Speaker 4: navigates a lot of what's going on when it becomes
- 40:29Speaker 4: protection and stuff. So you know, and he's extremely smart.
- 40:34Speaker 4: You know you're not fooling Landing Dickerson. There are times
- 40:36Speaker 4: where everything looks like, all right, hey, we're becoming left,
- 40:41Speaker 4: and Landon has called everybody and say no, we're going right,
- 40:43Speaker 4: and he picks up the blitz Zude. Landon Dickerson is
- 40:45Speaker 4: extremely smart and he's gonna be in that meeting room.
- 40:49Speaker 4: And that's one of the things that I don't think
- 40:51Speaker 4: a lot of people really understood when you had Cam,
- 40:54Speaker 4: Jurgen Kelsey, and Landon Dickinson. You had three centers in
- 40:58Speaker 4: the interior office of Line and Landon Dickinson is the
- 41:01Speaker 4: guy that's gonna be the cause. But you know he's
- 41:04Speaker 4: gonna sit in that meeting room. He's gonna be right
- 41:06Speaker 4: there with Cam. And I think that when Landon Dickinson
- 41:09Speaker 4: is going to be the guy that's gonna navigate a
- 41:11Speaker 4: lot of what's going on isrew.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I'm sure that Todd Bowles saw what Trey was talking
- 41:15Speaker 3: about before, is that there are times where Saquon.
- 41:19Speaker 2: So he maybe he was helping Matt Pryor, but there
- 41:22Speaker 2: was a free rusher on that planet MC got him. Yeah.
- 41:25Speaker 3: You usually the running back, I would think, is supposed
- 41:28Speaker 3: to be posible.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah, So so Saquon at times is not the best
- 41:31Speaker 2: of blitz pick up.
- 41:33Speaker 4: He's not.
- 41:34Speaker 3: And so this is an area where I think Todd
- 41:35Speaker 3: Bowles is going to really try to say, Hey, if
- 41:38Speaker 3: we can, if we can get him confused as where
- 41:39Speaker 3: we're coming, that's what we're gonna do.
- 41:41Speaker 5: That's the first thing I thought of when I went
- 41:43Speaker 5: back and rewatched the Rams game, is that Todd Bowles
- 41:45Speaker 5: is gonna look at that and try to exploit it.
- 41:48Speaker 5: So I'm I'm not quite sure Saquon Barkley is not
- 41:51Speaker 5: that adept and in terms of pass pro the Eagles
- 41:54Speaker 5: are gonna have to find a way around that because
- 41:55Speaker 5: they're gonna throw some things at him that that's gonna
- 41:58Speaker 5: have them guessing throughout the whole afternoon.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Is that then, to come on, Jaalen to understand that.
- 42:03Speaker 4: No, I think that what you're gonna find. You know,
- 42:05Speaker 4: if Lane Johnson is playing this game, you don't have
- 42:07Speaker 4: to worry about it, you know.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Because he's played in some of the games that they
- 42:11Speaker 3: and plenty of the games that they've lost.
- 42:12Speaker 2: The Tampa Bay Yeah, I just worried about the free rushers.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but you're not. You don't have to worry about
- 42:17Speaker 4: the same You don't have to cover for him. True,
- 42:19Speaker 4: So you know what I'm saying, Because on that particular
- 42:21Speaker 4: side where you had the secondary player come up the
- 42:25Speaker 4: B gap, that was because uh, Saquan went over there
- 42:30Speaker 4: to kind of help Matt Prior because he felt like
- 42:32Speaker 4: he was getting edged and I think that that was
- 42:34Speaker 4: something that was talked about. So he went over there
- 42:36Speaker 4: to try to say Matt Prior and then you open
- 42:39Speaker 4: up the B gap. So if you have Lane Johnson
- 42:41Speaker 4: out there, or even with Fred Johnson out there, you
- 42:44Speaker 4: don't have to worry about that. Then sa Quan can
- 42:46Speaker 4: go ahead. Because you go back and you look at
- 42:48Speaker 4: a couple of blitzes. I can't think of which one
- 42:50Speaker 4: it was, but you had where Fred Johnson's set out
- 42:55Speaker 4: took the widest guy and the bark I think it
- 42:57Speaker 4: was Saquan stepped in, took that backer that came the
- 43:00Speaker 4: BEG gap formed it up. So as long as he
- 43:02Speaker 4: doesn't have to try to protect the player, I think
- 43:04Speaker 4: he's okay.
- 43:05Speaker 2: All right, we got one last break.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Then we'll come back and we'll continue to talk about
- 43:09Speaker 3: the keys for the Eagles against this Tampa Bay team
- 43:12Speaker 3: and what's going on in the Eagles world. Again you
- 43:14Speaker 3: are listening to the Pro Football Report presented by b
- 43:19Speaker 3: CWSA or right here on fourteen ninety WBCB and one
- 43:22Speaker 3: oh seven point three FM.
- 43:25Speaker 6: Hey, you know that one guy in the group chat
- 43:27Speaker 6: who hit a five leg parlay week one.
- 43:29Speaker 2: And he wouldn't shut up about it for the rest
- 43:31Speaker 2: of the season.
- 43:32Speaker 8: Sounds like kaplan, right yeah, yeah, it could be him,
- 43:35Speaker 8: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 43:38Speaker 8: be you. My bookie makes it stupid easy to get
- 43:43Speaker 8: in on the action, whether it's college ball, NFL Super

- 45:47Speaker 3: Chicky's and Pete's great night. The windows are open. We
- 45:51Speaker 3: got Eagles Hall of Famer Trey Thomas with us, we
- 45:55Speaker 3: got Phillies on It is an uny.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Hey, I gotta ask you this, Tray Yea.
- 45:59Speaker 3: As you know, observing now as a former Philadelphia athlete,
- 46:03Speaker 3: I've always felt that there is nothing better than being
- 46:07Speaker 3: around the Delaware Valley when the Phillies are in the
- 46:09Speaker 3: playoffs and the Eagles.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Are rocking and rolling like they are right now. The
- 46:13Speaker 2: past few years has been really nice. This one could
- 46:15Speaker 2: be even greater.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Do you do you appreciate that in this area absolutely,
- 46:19Speaker 4: spirits are high. Man. You know, everybody is all well,
- 46:22Speaker 4: you know, everybody's feeling good. Phillies. You know, I'm not
- 46:25Speaker 4: a big base, small guy, right, but you know I
- 46:27Speaker 4: know that they're doing well. Good job. You know, I
- 46:30Speaker 4: have no idea what the record is. So it's been said.
- 46:39Speaker 4: I think you've heard when the Phillies are playing in October,
- 46:50Speaker 4: every pitch okay, all right, yeah, I'm a ACC games,
- 47:01Speaker 4: but I haven't been to a baseball Get you out,
- 47:08Speaker 4: I know.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I meant that. I just think every single team in
- 47:15Speaker 2: the Southeast is in the SEC. Now, forgot the ACC
- 47:18Speaker 2: still exists. That's okay, that's a right. Let's get back
- 47:21Speaker 2: to this Eagles game against the Bucks.
- 47:23Speaker 3: The Bucks have had the Eagles number. Now, there was
- 47:26Speaker 3: a game two years ago in Tampa. I believe it
- 47:28Speaker 3: was a night game where the Eagles won.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yes, so it's not all doom and glue they have.
- 47:38Speaker 2: This is historical. They have won each of their first
- 47:41Speaker 2: three games on the final drive of happened. So you
- 47:50Speaker 2: got Andrew two very resilient see house the horrors for the.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Eagles, it has and look, I think the real field
- 48:01Speaker 5: temperature is supposed to be.
- 48:07Speaker 2: He want to hit the beach just in there.
- 48:10Speaker 4: I just left Florida. I just left Florida Saturday and
- 48:14Speaker 4: it was beautiful, dude, Like it was eighty degrees really.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Oh yeah, man, it was cool man, little walks. And
- 48:19Speaker 4: then all of a sudden, anytime we get ready to
- 48:21Speaker 4: go down to Florida, it just turns into just like
- 48:25Speaker 4: it's hot. Like when we played down there, they were
- 48:28Speaker 4: frying eggs. I remember that year when they killed like
- 48:30Speaker 4: this ninety yard field goal and the wind yeah you
- 48:33Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, and the pavement was so hot.
- 48:39Speaker 4: But you know, but before last week, it was beautiful,
- 48:42Speaker 4: beautiful down there.
- 48:43Speaker 2: There's been some epic games there.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I mean think about the sorry to bring up the
- 48:47Speaker 3: bad ones, but obviously the sixty one yard field goal
- 48:50Speaker 3: by what's is that Bryant?
- 48:52Speaker 2: Right Bryant? You played in that game?
- 48:55Speaker 4: Yes? I did.
- 48:55Speaker 3: I had a friend at the game who said he
- 48:57Speaker 3: almost died in the third quarter of heatings on so
- 49:01Speaker 3: hot that that game. Yeah, Donovan actually threw up that.
- 49:09Speaker 3: And then do you remember Nick Foles to Jeremy Macklin
- 49:11Speaker 3: at the buzzer?
- 49:12Speaker 2: That must have been like in the Chip Kelly Aery. Yeah,
- 49:15Speaker 2: twenty thirteen, right quarter of the end zone. Yeah, I
- 49:19Speaker 2: do remember that. Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 3: How much does that heat really matter as a home
- 49:23Speaker 3: field advantage for the Bucks at this time of the year.
- 49:26Speaker 4: I don't think it should matter that much this early
- 49:28Speaker 4: in the year. Everybody's used to dealing with summer workouts.
- 49:31Speaker 4: It's not that we're not that far into the cold season.
- 49:35Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it's eighty degrees now, you're practicing
- 49:38Speaker 4: in warm areas. When it affects you is when you're
- 49:41Speaker 4: talking about November December. You know what I'm saying, When
- 49:44Speaker 4: it's cold where you are, and then you got to
- 49:46Speaker 4: go and deal with that heat. That's when it becomes
- 49:48Speaker 4: a problem.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's still pretty hot there in November.
- 49:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so yeah, they're going out there a day early
- 49:54Speaker 5: to acclimate to the heat.
- 49:55Speaker 4: So what that is amazing? I couldn't wait for They're
- 50:00Speaker 4: going out Wait a minute, they're going out on Friday.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, they're flying out Friday.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Yep, what are we gonna what are we doing? We're
- 50:10Speaker 4: gonna go lay out on the beach, that's what. Excuse
- 50:13Speaker 4: in the sun. Just take some Sunday. Yeah, because the
- 50:18Speaker 4: kind of sunscreen.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I'm not exactly sure what one day is gonna make.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know what one day is going to do. Like, man,
- 50:26Speaker 4: that's a man. I love this new era of football.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Yeah you got you know, you got knuckleball kicks, right,
- 50:33Speaker 3: you got teams leaving a day early to go in
- 50:36Speaker 3: the same time zone the.
- 50:37Speaker 4: Same time so like we would have to fly to
- 50:40Speaker 4: like Alcatrass. You know what I'm saying to get to
- 50:44Speaker 4: leave a day early. They are leaving a day early
- 50:47Speaker 4: just to go to Florida.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 4: That's awesome, man. And what they're doing right now, that's awesome.
- 50:52Speaker 4: Good job.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but listen, you can't question it.
- 50:55Speaker 4: They keep winning, they keep winning. What can you say?
- 50:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 50:58Speaker 4: You know, because at first I was one of those
- 51:00Speaker 4: guys that felt like, man, training camp needs to be physical,
- 51:03Speaker 4: you know, And they're like, yo, I need I need
- 51:05Speaker 4: guys to play in the preseason game. No, we don't
- 51:08Speaker 4: need to do that. You know we're winning. Hey, hey,
- 51:11Speaker 4: shut me up.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Did you happen to go out to any training camps
- 51:14Speaker 2: training camp pack?
- 51:15Speaker 4: I ain't going to training camp to watch do what.
- 51:19Speaker 4: I didn't want to be at training camp when I
- 51:20Speaker 4: was a player. I'm not going as a fan.
- 51:23Speaker 2: So I was always wanted to hear if they're what
- 51:25Speaker 2: the biggest difference was that you noticed.
- 51:27Speaker 4: But no, I have no idea. I'm not going to
- 51:28Speaker 4: training camp. Don't in fight me to training camp. I
- 51:30Speaker 4: told her, I told you any time the train you
- 51:32Speaker 4: want to come to train No, I don't want to
- 51:33Speaker 4: come to training camp. Why do I want to go
- 51:35Speaker 4: to training camp? Memory?
- 51:38Speaker 2: Scarred for life? What you're saying?
- 51:40Speaker 4: I never go to you know? I I worked training
- 51:43Speaker 4: camp last year with Kansas City with the Chiefs. I
- 51:46Speaker 4: went out there with Big Red and worked with their
- 51:48Speaker 4: offensive line. Fun experience, awesome time being back out there
- 51:52Speaker 4: in the trenches with that, but to come back here
- 51:55Speaker 4: and say, hey man, you want to go to camp. No,
- 51:56Speaker 4: I don't find a lot of things to do. He didn't.
- 51:59Speaker 3: He didn't call you maybe two weeks before the Super
- 52:02Speaker 3: Bowl and say hey, okay, so I'm really I'm really
- 52:05Speaker 3: hurting that left tackle here.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Here's the funny thing about that. Uh huh okay. So
- 52:10Speaker 4: in December I text it Red because I saw like,
- 52:14Speaker 4: all right, you know what, you're having some issues. They
- 52:16Speaker 4: had benched Wan Ye who was one of their tackles,
- 52:19Speaker 4: and I sent Big Red some film and I was like,
- 52:21Speaker 4: a Big Red, man, this is what i'm seeing. You
- 52:24Speaker 4: know what I'm saying like this, this is what you know.
- 52:27Speaker 4: And he was like he shot me your thumbs up.
- 52:28Speaker 4: He mode you like, yeah, no, we're good. I was like,
- 52:30Speaker 4: all right, okay, no, you weren't good.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Well in his mind, he's like, I'm just gonna move
- 52:36Speaker 3: my Pro Bowl left guard to left tackle and I'm good, but.
- 52:40Speaker 4: It doesn't work that way. It's gonna work out. Don't
- 52:42Speaker 4: worry about it. Thank you for your information. Uh yeah,
- 52:46Speaker 4: we're gonna go ahead and go on with what we got.
- 52:48Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, So you.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Know, listen, trying to tell you you did your best.
- 52:55Speaker 4: You tried, and this was way back in December, but
- 52:58Speaker 4: you know it was awesome to see, Hey, how our
- 53:00Speaker 4: guys went out there and handle the business.
- 53:02Speaker 3: We can't end this show without having a discussion about
- 53:05Speaker 3: Eagles linebackers because for as long as you played for
- 53:08Speaker 3: the Eagles.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Trade there was Jeremiah Trotter and he was really good. Carlos, Carlos.
- 53:13Speaker 3: As you started to yeah, as you guys started to
- 53:17Speaker 3: move on as a franchise, by your last few years there,
- 53:21Speaker 3: it wasn't the same. And then after you left, I mean,
- 53:24Speaker 3: the level of linebacker play, off ball linebacker play really
- 53:28Speaker 3: started to deteriorate to a point where they were just
- 53:30Speaker 3: throwing street free agents out there one year to watch
- 53:34Speaker 3: what Zach Bonn and Jehand Campbell and na Kobe Dean
- 53:37Speaker 3: last year.
- 53:39Speaker 2: To watch the level that they've taken linebacker play here,
- 53:42Speaker 2: what is that like for you?
- 53:43Speaker 7: You know what?
- 53:44Speaker 4: I was just talking to Westbrook about this during the
- 53:47Speaker 4: game on Sunday. We were just sitting there, Yeah, yeah,
- 53:49Speaker 4: we were, I'm like, man, you know, linebacker played just
- 53:52Speaker 4: as in the Keio used to be. You know, yess,
- 53:54Speaker 4: not the Jeremiah Trotters of the game senior. You know,
- 53:58Speaker 4: linebackers that's gonna come downhill and kill anything that moves.
- 54:01Speaker 4: It's not like that anymore. These guys are a lot
- 54:04Speaker 4: more skilled, I think because they're asked to do a
- 54:08Speaker 4: lot more. You know, where you have to go out
- 54:10Speaker 4: there and you have to take on a tight end.
- 54:11Speaker 4: You gotta try to cover with some of these receivers
- 54:14Speaker 4: come across the minute. You gotta pick up these linebackers.
- 54:16Speaker 4: I think Zach Bond is one of those type guys
- 54:19Speaker 4: that he can play downhill. You can see he's very
- 54:21Speaker 4: smart where he'll hit the gap and go make those
- 54:24Speaker 4: plays in the backfield, and then if you need him
- 54:26Speaker 4: to get dropped back in the coverage, he's extremely athletic
- 54:29Speaker 4: to do that as well. Jahi Campbell one of my
- 54:31Speaker 4: guys from IMG. I was on the staff when he
- 54:34Speaker 4: was down there. It's really amazing to see him come
- 54:37Speaker 4: back home and to play as well as his as
- 54:40Speaker 4: he's been playing. You know, I'm really proud of what
- 54:43Speaker 4: we're doing in that linebacker course.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Shout out Timber Creek High School area on New Jersey
- 54:47Speaker 3: right around the corner from here.
- 54:49Speaker 2: All right, Andrew linebacker play.
- 54:52Speaker 3: I think people have waited, you know the nature of
- 54:55Speaker 3: people around here, they can't love success. They always think
- 54:58Speaker 3: the shoes going to drop, the waiting for Zach Bonn
- 55:01Speaker 3: to like for.
- 55:02Speaker 2: The coach to go back to a pumpkin, like this
- 55:05Speaker 2: can't be real. And each week he makes a play
- 55:07Speaker 2: that makes you say, no, that's just who he is.
- 55:10Speaker 2: I mean, look, he's not going to turn into a pumpky.
- 55:12Speaker 2: This is who he is.
- 55:13Speaker 5: And I think you're seeing him grow more and more
- 55:15Speaker 5: comfortable within the system. Within Vic Vangio's defense. He's a
- 55:19Speaker 5: longer player. Trey talked about your hot campbell. He's also
- 55:22Speaker 5: a longer player. They can get after the quarterback, they
- 55:24Speaker 5: can cover in space. They're just really smart football players
- 55:27Speaker 5: that are having nose for the football. And then you
- 55:30Speaker 5: have Nikobe Dean who could be coming back at some
- 55:32Speaker 5: point amidst at the midway point this season smile mind,
- 55:36Speaker 5: and they drafted him. It's just a really well rounded
- 55:39Speaker 5: group of linebackers and I think that they have really
- 55:42Speaker 5: equipped themselves to have this, you know, in place for
- 55:46Speaker 5: the foreseeable future.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's gonna be a great future for the Eagles. Linebackers.
- 55:50Speaker 3: It is a great current right now for Kyle Schwarbers.
- 55:53Speaker 3: He goes deep and tries to chase that home run
- 55:55Speaker 3: record from Ryan Howard. We are out of time, quest,
- 56:00Speaker 3: I can save a minute for the great question. Yes,
- 56:03Speaker 3: what are we doing as past rushers? Well, let me
- 56:06Speaker 3: ask you this. The rams are We're only facing third
- 56:09Speaker 3: and five and longer three times. The whole game kind
- 56:12Speaker 3: of hard when you're getting run on.
- 56:13Speaker 4: I need a little bit more pass.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I need I need my guy.
- 56:18Speaker 4: I need the guy to step up to say, you
- 56:21Speaker 4: know what, he can go get me one.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Listen. Zadarius Smith might be that guy. But let's see.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Let's see what happens this weekend Sunday, Tampa, Raymond James Stadium.
- 56:30Speaker 2: That's gonna do it. For this show, we want to thank.
- 56:32Speaker 3: The great Trey Thomas here at Checks and Pizza, Marlton.
- 56:36Speaker 4: Andrew de Checo, Jeff Mosher.
- 56:38Speaker 3: You've been listening to the Pro Football Report presented by
