- Lucas: Hey Luna, we're back! Ready for another tiny French adventure? Luna: Absolutely! I've been practicing the numbers from our last episode, and I feel pretty good about them. Lucas: That's great. And today, we're going to finish the numbers all the way to 100. The final stretch! Luna: Oh nice! So we're picking up right where we left off. What comes after quatre vingt quinze? Lucas: Good question. So after quatre vingt quinze, we have quatre vingt seize. Let's say that together: quatre vingt seize. Luna: quatre vingt seize. That's 96, right? Lucas: Exactly. And then quatre vingt dix sept. Try it. Luna: quatre vingt dix sept. 97. This is getting easier. Lucas: Nice! Then quatre vingt dix huit. You're on a roll. Luna: quatre vingt dix huit. 98. Only two more to go! Lucas: Yes! And the next one is quatre vingt dix neuf. That's 99. Luna: quatre vingt dix neuf. Wow, that's a mouthful. But I think I got it. Lucas: You did. And finally, we reach 100. In French, that's cent. Luna: cent. Short and sweet. I like it. Lucas: Exactly. So let's review all five numbers: quatre vingt seize, quatre vingt dix sept, quatre vingt dix huit, quatre vingt dix neuf, and cent. Luna: quatre vingt seize, quatre vingt dix sept, quatre vingt dix huit, quatre vingt dix neuf, cent. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's put them in a little context. Imagine you're at a market and you see something priced at 96 euros. You'd say: quatre vingt seize euros. Luna: quatre vingt seize euros. That's a lot for a baguette, but okay. Lucas: Definitely. But numbers are numbers. And what about 100? You could say: cent euros. Luna: cent euros. And that's a nice round number. Lucas: Now, let's do a quick countdown from 100 down to 96. Ready? cent, quatre vingt dix neuf, quatre vingt dix huit, quatre vingt dix sept, quatre vingt seize. Luna: cent, quatre vingt dix neuf, quatre vingt dix huit, quatre vingt dix sept, quatre vingt seize. That felt good. Lucas: You know what, this is a great milestone. You've now learned numbers 1 through 100 in French. That's a big deal. Luna: It really is. And I have to say, Fexingo has made this so manageable. If you're listening and you've been with us through these episodes, you're doing great too. Lucas: And if this podcast has genuinely helped you make progress with your French, you know what would be amazing? If you considered supporting us. It's a tiny gesture, but it keeps us ad-free and going. Luna: Yeah, it's like buying us a coffee. Which, honestly, if today's episode was worth a coffee to you, that's the link. Lucas: Exactly. Buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. No pressure at all. But it helps a lot. Luna: Alright, back to numbers. So Lucas, what's one fun fact about the number 100 in French? Lucas: Well, the plural of cent is cents, but you only add an S when it's multiplied by another number and not followed by another number. For example, deux cents, but deux cent un. Luna: Oh, that's interesting. So deux cents, but deux cent un. Got it. Lucas: Yes. But for today, let's just remember our five numbers. Let's do one more repetition before we go. Repeat after me: quatre vingt seize. Luna: quatre vingt seize. Lucas: quatre vingt dix sept. Luna: quatre vingt dix sept. Lucas: quatre vingt dix huit. Luna: quatre vingt dix huit. Lucas: quatre vingt dix neuf. Luna: quatre vingt dix neuf. Lucas: And cent. Luna: cent. Lucas: And now, you can count to 100 in French. That's a fantastic achievement. Keep practicing these numbers, and we'll see you next time on Learn French with Fexingo. Luna: Bye for now, and happy counting!
