- 1:51it. Let us begin with the tidbits.
- 1:54So. First, let's have a lot of
- 1:55tidbits to cover. Today, we're not even doing news
- 1:57anymore. It's just all tidbits.
- 1:59Yeah. OK, so Jacob Markstrom is hurt.
- 2:05Sheldon keeps said he'll get him.
- 2:07He's going to miss some time. So Alan is the clear
- 2:10replacement. I think this is a big one
- 2:13because I mean, did you guys see the injury like Brazil just
- 2:17literally just like, sorry, well, I cannot say what Hola,
- 2:22Hola, Hola, listen. To this maybe?
- 2:25By that hold on, I'm going to bleep that out.
- 2:27But Brazil slid, slid, slid right into Markstrom and right
- 2:33away they were like, yeah, he's gonna miss some time.
- 2:34So I mean, I think Jake Allen probably got picked up in almost
- 2:38every league last night as we record this so.
- 2:42He got there was an overpay in our league for him.
- 2:45I put so in our league for $13. I bid 12.
- 2:49Are you serious? Yeah, Big 12 guys in the group
- 2:52chat this morning, nobody answered me.
- 2:54Oh yeah, I was giving you guys the silent treatment because I'm
- 2:56having a terrible week. Because you're playing JQ.
- 2:59You know, Jay, Jay Collins only rostered an 18% of leagues right
- 3:03now. So only 18.
- 3:04Yeah, shocked. He's gotta be rostered in like
- 3:0740 I think 50 at. Least I think he was worth a lot
- 3:10of money to be honest. I mean, my kind of like grape
- 3:14with it was that it's not like New Jersey has been doing well
- 3:17lately. You know what?
- 3:17I. Mean, yeah, but we all know
- 3:18there's still a good team in a in a top team.
- 3:20Though look, if you're a team that needs a goalie, Alan is the
- 3:25best pick up right now. It's a starting goalie on one of
- 3:27the top teams, but they haven't been playing like a top team and
- 3:31Markstrom will come back at some point before the fantasy
- 3:34playoffs. I.
- 3:35Mean we don't know that right now.
- 3:36We don't know, but a lot of ambiguity I think.
- 3:39They didn't seem like it was season ending.
- 3:41It seemed like it was like a week to week type of thing.
- 3:43Obviously we don't know, that's just speculation right now.
- 3:46But I don't view it as a long term thing.
- 3:49I view it as a mid term type of move.
- 3:52Out for a month and a half and you can pick up the starting
- 3:54really for a top ten team like. But they've been playing like a
- 3:58bottom 10 team. Yeah, but you still gotta pick
- 4:02that up. Like, I don't think that's you.
- 4:04You just leave it because what are the alternatives?
- 4:06You know, like. No, no, I'm not disagreeing that
- 4:09it's a grid pickup. I just don't think it's an
- 4:11amazing pickup. Like, it's not, it's not a it's
- 4:14not a pick up Blackwood. That's it exactly.
- 4:16Whatever. Same kind of idea, but like,
- 4:18yeah, which I'd much rather have Avalanche starter than New
- 4:21Jersey temporary starter. OK, well, look at their schedule
- 4:24coming up. OK, Montreal, not the easiest
- 4:27game potentially then Philly. Philly, then Buffalo, then
- 4:32Pittsburgh, then it's Vegas, Montreal, Dallas, Nashville,
- 4:36Colorado. Like family?
- 4:37For the next like week and 1/2 or a week or two.
- 4:40It's going for the next two weeks.
- 4:41You're gonna get good matchups. Yeah.
- 4:44The one thing here is that Jake Allen has been a starting goalie
- 4:48in the past. It was on the Habs, who were
- 4:50never really good, but he can manage a starter load even
- 4:53though he hasn't done it this year.
- 4:54And yes, New Jersey has been slow, but they're pretty elite
- 4:58team. So I'm pretty excited about
- 5:00this. It's not Blackwood who's going
- 5:02to be the surefire starter, but it is a situation where for,
- 5:07like, let's say if you have them for a month at least, like I
- 5:10think this guy's got to be rostered in way more leagues
- 5:12than 18%, you know? I think, I think if you, if you
- 5:16have fab in your league, I think it's worth a a 25 to 30% dump of
- 5:19your FAB. I think if you have like if you
- 5:22have a waiver priority system, I think you have the first one.
- 5:25I would burn it on Jake Allen. Let's say if you're stuck at
- 5:28goalie, I think that's. Fine.
- 5:30Yeah, seriously. I mean, I wish I had them bedded
- 5:33a significant amount of my initial bid was 11 that I was
- 5:36like I'm going up to 12 and then I got out bid.
- 5:39By $1.00 that's. Crazy.
- 5:40And nobody else bid. I think one other person bid
- 5:42$1.00 or something. So yeah, that was surprising to
- 5:46me. I mean, you, you, you're fine
- 5:47because you have two good goalies and a third one on the
- 5:49way back. But the first place team needs a
- 5:53goalie, so I would. Have he didn't even played on
- 5:55Blackwood? I don't know what he's doing.
- 5:56But anyways, regardless of our specific league, Alan is
- 6:00definitely a pickup. Regardless of how high you are
- 6:02on the Devils right now, they will figure it out.
- 6:03Mike, My point was more just that if they're figuring it out
- 6:06only happens towards the end of Markstrom's injury, then you're
- 6:09not getting as much value as you'd hope.
- 6:11But if it's a long term injury, they're going to figure it out
- 6:13around, you know, maybe in a week or two.
- 6:15So it's definitely a good pick. Up The only thing I would also
- 6:19say with the trade deadline like coming closer and closer, like I
- 6:22would say Leslie Marshall mixes extended time.
- 6:24There's definitely a chance that they sign a goalie, so that's
- 6:29always. Possible.
- 6:30Alan does. Yeah, that's true.
- 6:32Basically, for now, pick up Alan and see where it goes.
- 6:36There's no harm in doing that. He's also trade bait, like
- 6:39somebody's gonna wanna starter. If you pick them up, would you
- 6:42wanna trade him for like? I would try to trade him.
- 6:44No, not for a month, then I would.
- 6:45Think you're. Higher.
- 6:46Yeah, that's. Fair.
- 6:48I think that's I don't think so. Maybe when I?
- 6:51Think for sure you can do that. Comes out like Mark comes out
- 6:53for the season or something crazy like that, then yeah.
- 6:55But I mean, right now, no one's trading for Alan.
- 6:58I think it depends on your league.
- 7:00People would definitely be hot. If somebody bid a lot in your
- 7:02league and you and they didn't get him and you got him, go to
- 7:06that manager and try to stop him.
- 7:08Yeah, look, you never know. But pick him up for new.
- 7:10Solid lately. Actually, yeah, he's a must pick
- 7:12up in my opinion. I don't know why he's for sure
- 7:15must pick. Up.
- 7:16I think he's a must pick up too. But I understand your
- 7:18hesitation, Josh. It's a good thing.
- 7:20Anyway, this was a lot of time, but I think it was worth it
- 7:22because this is big. Cool.
- 7:23So let's move on to the next one we got.
- 7:25Val Nichushkin suffers a setback and he's going to miss some more
- 7:28time. He's out indefinitely.
- 7:30Josh, are you still there? Hello.
- 7:36He may have suffered a set back but it's all less managers who
- 7:39are suffering OK. How dare he not take into
- 7:43account his finished fantasy managers.
- 7:44Part ridiculous. Seriously.
- 7:46This this year have been so frustrating because it's not
- 7:49like, OK, he's out for this long and then he'll be back.
- 7:51It's he was originally out for seven.
- 7:53He was day-to-day. I'm like, OK, it's not the end
- 7:54of the world out seven to 10 days.
- 7:56I'm like, OK, fine. Misses three weeks.
- 7:58He's like, oh, he's close to returning.
- 7:59I'm like, OK, finally he's he's in line rushes this morning.
- 8:02OK, thank God. Oh, he's out week to week.
- 8:04Like what does that even mean? He suffered a set back.
- 8:06What does it mean? You know, like.
- 8:09What does it mean? Would mean making the numbers.
- 8:13It's frustrating how how not clear you know, the NHL teams
- 8:18are with the fans. Yeah, obviously they don't have
- 8:22to be and you don't wanna tell too much information because
- 8:24people get target injuries and blah blah, blah.
- 8:26But it sucks for us fantasy owners.
- 8:27But anyways, yeah, no, it's brutal and I think it's honestly
- 8:30bad for all the Abs in general. I was, I'm going to mention this
- 8:33on our Bilo sell high episode, but I think the chicken is such
- 8:37a key part of that team, especially their power play and.
- 8:40They clearly need him. It's just an Sulphur, the entire
- 8:43team I think. Agreed.
- 8:45Agreed. I just, um, is there any like
- 8:48ambiguity as to if this is like a personal thing, like, you
- 8:51know, yes, no. Hurt.
- 8:52No, I think it's not a lower body injury.
- 8:54OK. It's like directly, right?
- 8:56OK, it's somewhat of a positive. Yeah, anyway, it does suck for
- 9:06sure for fantasy owners. Moving on, we got Charlie McAvoy
- 9:09is still missing time. It looks like For now, Mason
- 9:11Lori is the guy on power play one he's been putting up decent.
- 9:16Perhaps it's worth rostering while Charlie is out.
- 9:19I tend to rely on that side as well, the offensive team though,
- 9:24But if Laura has the opportunity to be power play one, yeah.
- 9:28I mean, I'd Russian for the meantime.
- 9:30Mean whenever there's a power play one on waivers, you're
- 9:32always interested in analyzing the situation and seeing if you
- 9:34can get any value out of it. He's gonna get you only some
- 9:37blocks, mostly in some shots. But yeah, keep an eye on it.
- 9:42Josh picked him up in our league.
- 9:43How do you feel about that? I mean he got straight zeros
- 9:45last game which is unfortunate but.
- 9:47Yeah, the game before that he got an assist and yeah, shots in
- 9:49three blocks. Yeah, exactly.
- 9:51Great. Exactly what I wanted.
- 9:53I'll say if it was earlier in the year, if honestly this
- 9:57happened like a week or two ago, I would not have been really
- 9:59interested. But with Pasternak putting up
- 10:01like 9 points in three games and really starting to heat up for
- 10:04the same reason that you picked up a Zaca Kevin, you know, once
- 10:08once passed us heating up. Anyone on that power play one or
- 10:10anyone who gets to play with him is a gets a huge boon, you know,
- 10:13but for the long, for the longest time this season, that
- 10:16whole squad has been pretty brutal.
- 10:17Even the power play one quarterback.
- 10:18So it's really just more recently than I'm interested.
- 10:21Yeah, McAvoy hasn't had many PowerPoints on the season either
- 10:23way, so but it's the deployment that's gonna get you more Paris
- 10:27as well and the points upside that you gotta gotta look into
- 10:30it. And Macro is the defenseman to
- 10:32own on Boston, but you know there's no stranger to him not
- 10:36being the power play one guy. If this is working with Laura
- 10:38and Laura is playing well, even though McAvoy super useful
- 10:42moving forward, it's not the worst thing to consider that
- 10:45maybe they're going to keep Lori on that power play one.
- 10:47Do you guys agree or it's like no chance?
- 10:49Yeah, I. Agree honestly like at the start
- 10:51of the season I would have said no chance, but the way this
- 10:54season's been going when McAvoy was healthy they've tried a
- 10:56bunch of different guys on that power play 1 so I definitely
- 10:58don't think he has it locked up. Fair enough.
- 11:01Let's move on to our next point. We got John Travares.
- 11:05Well, John Tavares still hurt for.
- 11:07John Travolta, is that you? Well, anyway, so he's still
- 11:15hurt, he's not skating yet and now he's also just got hurt last
- 11:19game. So yeah, you should roster
- 11:21whoever gets bumped on that power play one.
- 11:25Is this for sure gonna be Morgan Riley back up there?
- 11:27He's been like they've been running 5 forwards for the
- 11:29longest time, which is surprising to me to be honest.
- 11:33But now that Taurus is still out in Noises Out, Riley for sure
- 11:37gets back up there. I wonder who they put as their
- 11:40fifth guy though. It seems to be a Bobby McMahon
- 11:42Who? Yes it does.
- 11:44Jake is thrilled. I am thrilled.
- 11:47He's been good all year. Honestly.
- 11:48He's, you know, it's just a temporary thing until the other
- 11:50guys get healthy. But I think we're all singing
- 11:53McMahon for now is a decent idea.
- 11:54But with NYS out, who's gonna be that next guy?
- 11:57That's what I'm curious about. Is going to be more really.
- 12:01Yeah, it's Riley for sure. Yeah, they don't really have
- 12:04anybody like offensively. Like it's Nick Robertson, Max
- 12:07Domi, you're like Fraser Minton. Like it's none of those guys.
- 12:10I think they're doing like A5 forward power play.
- 12:13You really have to trust those five forwards and we're getting
- 12:16to the point where, you know, after you lose nice antivirus
- 12:19like you're not, they're not trusting this, you know, 4th and
- 12:225th choice to be on a FIFA forward power play.
- 12:24They're clearly not a fan of Riley on that power play, but
- 12:26he's done it for years and so they're not gonna be scared to
- 12:29go back to him for a bit. Yeah.
- 12:31And I was gonna say, I mean, this comes out an interesting
- 12:33opportunity where maybe you should, you know, I mean,
- 12:36Riley's pretty highly rostered, but I mean, he's dropped in our
- 12:39league, which is a very deep league, but believes only have
- 12:41two games next week. So it doesn't even really help
- 12:43you there, you know? So.
- 12:45Anyway, if he does get that power, play one, Yeah, if he
- 12:48does get that power, play one. It's not too exciting, put it
- 12:51that way, Right? So.
- 12:52A long time this year and wasn't doing anything with it.
- 12:55Yeah, exactly. Next point we got Noah Dobson is
- 12:58hurt. He fell awkwardly and there is
- 13:00no current timetable for his return.
- 13:02We don't know who's going to be on power play one, but it'll
- 13:04definitely be interesting. Pellet or Pollock or Pollock or
- 13:07Pelic, which is unbelievable that those are the two guys on
- 13:10the same team are most likely to be his replacements and they
- 13:14usually do have solid peripherals.
- 13:17Yeah, I just saw that they announced that Dobson won't
- 13:20require. Surgery, which is huge for four
- 13:23fantasy managers. Like he's not gonna miss the
- 13:25entire season. We probably the best case
- 13:27scenario in terms of like falling awkwardly and having a
- 13:30mysterious injury. But that P1 spot I'm guessing
- 13:33goes to Ryan Pulock and he's got a nasty slap shot.
- 13:39So I think he actually has some goal threat on the power play
- 13:42and he's usually really good for blocks.
- 13:44So I think I'd be interested in in a lot of leagues, but the on
- 13:48this power play already is not one of the best.
- 13:50So you have to take that into account.
- 13:51Yeah, I would view that as more of a.
- 13:53He's already kind of solid for Bangor peripherals, so if now
- 13:57he's gonna chip in some points here and there, then that can
- 14:00make him like an. Interesting.
- 14:00I'd rather have him than Laura that we just mentioned from
- 14:03Boston. Yeah, I would expect Boston to
- 14:07get more power play points than Islanders, but I expect Pollock
- 14:10to get a lot more proofs, which would give him like a safer
- 14:12floor. Especially in bangers leagues, I
- 14:14think Pollock has more value now, so I would definitely be
- 14:17interested. And it's probably 1 quarterback
- 14:19on waivers that has helper. What more can you ask for in
- 14:22terms of being able to stream that?
- 14:25Yeah, I agree. You should.
- 14:26You should pick up Pollock. Let's move on to the next one.
- 14:29We have Josh Norris, who was hurt last game and he didn't
- 14:33return for precautionary reasons.
- 14:36He's squishy was so monitor closely.
- 14:40I wrote that I'm right. Here, But yeah, you could roster
- 14:49whoever gets gets back online one or power play one.
- 14:53Shane Pinto has been his replacement recently on the
- 14:56Senators second line, which is a ridiculous second line between
- 15:00Giroux and ketchup, which is just nuts.
- 15:03And Pinto has actually been pretty good as of late.
- 15:05So do you think once Norris is back like Pinto's gone, what do
- 15:09we think? How does that work?
- 15:11Yeah, I don't think, I don't think whoever takes Norris's
- 15:14spot in the top 6 is going to keep it after Norris's back.
- 15:17They tried Norris on the third line for a bit earlier this year
- 15:20and it was brutal and they brought him back up to the top
- 15:23six and immediately started producing.
- 15:24So I don't see why. And he's been playing well
- 15:27before he got injured, so I don't see why they would drop
- 15:29him back to to the third line and power play one.
- 15:32Also Norris, even when he was on the third line he was stable to
- 15:34power play 1 so I don't see him losing that permanently.
- 15:37Maybe Pinto will stay line too and then Norris can even go line
- 15:41one with Stitzel Batherson which is sick.
- 15:44Yeah, that's true. That's pretty good.
- 15:46I mean, because he can play on the wing as well.
- 15:49But yeah, this is this is a guy who hasn't been rostered in as
- 15:51many leagues as he should be all season.
- 15:53Now he's hurt. So if he does get dropped and
- 15:55you can add him to an IR or IR plus.
- 15:57Whatever or buy low opportunity. Yeah, for sure.
- 16:01Cool. Let's move on.
- 16:02We got cap Rozov is returning tonight, January 23rd.
- 16:06He's a top six. So the top 6 is basically
- 16:10Kaprizov, Rossi, Zuccarello. Then line 2 is Boldy Erickson
- 16:14neck and Hartman Ross is just going to get bumped off power
- 16:19play 1. So yeah, those are the top 2
- 16:20lines. Usual.
- 16:23Yeah, well, Rossi has Rossi always been there?
- 16:26It's. Kind of been like a bit up and
- 16:27down. This is the exact lines that
- 16:29they had at the start of the season when they were all
- 16:31healthy. It's been a while since they've
- 16:33all been healthy because for Zuccarello and Erickson, Eck
- 16:35were out and then Kaprizov was out.
- 16:36And so this is the first time like that whole kind of the
- 16:39important part of the top 6. Hartman wasn't always this guy
- 16:42on the second line. I think they had Johansson there
- 16:43and he's injured right now, but that's not really relevant.
- 16:46It's really about the five other guys in the top six.
- 16:48So this has been what they've been running.
- 16:49So I'm not surprised to see it go back to that.
- 16:52And to note that Jared Spurgeon, who's also returning from injury
- 16:55is quarterback in the P1. So he was a really good stream
- 16:58earlier couple weeks ago when he got that deployment.
- 17:01Now I'd assume that becomes relevant again for Fantasy.
- 17:04Not the best fantasy defenseman, but if he's on PS1 and
- 17:07underscoring like he'll, he'll get some looks.
- 17:10Yeah, copper socks are like #1 offensive guy for sure.
- 17:13Someone else with this kind of effects on their team, I would
- 17:16say is Gustafson, who's lost his last four with posting under
- 17:20A-90 save percentage in each of the games.
- 17:22So like, you can also be a decently good buy low right now.
- 17:26Phillip, Kristen. Yeah, he's definitely by low.
- 17:29He's had some terrible games lately and I still think moving
- 17:31forward he's probably like a up 6-7 fantasy goalies so.
- 17:36Yeah, yeah. And like if your league mates
- 17:38don't connect the dots of like, oh, Coppers loves back the while
- 17:40they're going to start doing better.
- 17:41Like it's a really good opportunity to buy players on
- 17:44that team in general. Jake, would you trade Logan
- 17:46Thompson for Gustafsson? I was thinking.
- 17:49I was thinking I would. I would.
- 17:52Yeah. Yeah, even though he's wrecking
- 17:55me this week, Disrespect to Thompson, I think he's.
- 17:59Awesome. No, he's great.
- 18:00But I think Gustafson's just been at another level.
- 18:03Obviously not lately. But yeah, that's why you can buy
- 18:05it low. I trust Gustafson's volume way
- 18:08more, but we'll get into that later on.
- 18:10At the end of the day, I don't know.
- 18:13It depends on your roster construction.
- 18:14If you want to win like percentages, then I trust
- 18:17Thompson more. But if you're gonna go for
- 18:20volume, like if you got 3 goalies on your team and you
- 18:22want to win saves every week, then yes, I'd rather go this in
- 18:25as one. Of those more goalie goals.
- 18:28That's fair. That's a good point.
- 18:34Have you seen the movie Tricky? No, I know it from a show.
- 18:38What what movie is? Anora.
- 18:41Oh, I don't. Know one of the characters has
- 18:43touch and he gets made fun of. No, that's hilarious.
- 18:46I know it from like a show called The Great which is I also
- 18:49found it hilarious. There.
- 18:51Yeah, I know that show you. Really.
- 18:53Yeah. It was Catherine the Great.
- 18:54No. Yeah, OK, We're gonna talk about
- 18:56this afternoon. Either of those things and I
- 18:59feel left out, so let's move on. Great segue, Josh.
- 19:05Alright, we got squishy. Linus Ullmark joins team on the
- 19:09Rock on the road trip. He should be the clear starter
- 19:13when he's back. It's the the bylaw window for
- 19:16him is closing now. What does that mean for Marilyn?
- 19:19And he's just going to go to the NHL and just be like, like, it
- 19:21never happened. No, it will be the backup.
- 19:23Yeah, I think it'll be the backup.
- 19:24I mean, they're starting Forsberg as we record this
- 19:28today, they're starting Forsberg.
- 19:29But when Omar comes back, I'm not sure if they give him all
- 19:32the starts. Like he should be the clearer
- 19:35starter. Like he's obviously earned it
- 19:36with his player in the season. But Maryland has earned his, you
- 19:40know, more starts than just back-to-back kind of guy, right?
- 19:43So I wonder if they would. Be careful.
- 19:45With. Yeah, exactly.
- 19:47Because he's squishy so. He is very squishy.
- 19:49Him and Josh Norris, yeah. Yeah, and and all marks an elite
- 19:54goalie who hasn't been a sure thing starter for years now
- 19:59because on Buffalo he used to split with swimming.
- 20:02So if Maryland is doing well and like Forsberg sucks.
- 20:05So this is going to be the first time if you guys are right that
- 20:07Almark is going to be paired with a good goalie this year
- 20:10coming back from injury, all those factors like it could be a
- 20:13tandem. So I mean, you know, if you hold
- 20:15Mariline and don't just drop him unless he actually gets demoted
- 20:18to the AHL. But if he's in the NHL with
- 20:20Hallmark, he could be like a. High end or whatever like a mid
- 20:24tier 1B. I mean, I think, I think that if
- 20:27Omar comes back and Omar's getting like 66% of the starts,
- 20:30like 2 out of three games, like I I don't know if you can hold
- 20:34Marilyn in for that. Yeah.
- 20:36Yeah, he's got to be. It's gotta be like a, you know,
- 20:38like a whatever 5545 type thing, you know.
- 20:42But I don't see that happening. Yeah, you don't pay like the
- 20:45amounts that they're paying all Mark.
- 20:47And especially with how well he was playing before, like, the
- 20:49only reason he wouldn't get all the stars is because of, like,
- 20:52injury risk. But even then, it's gonna be
- 20:53like a two out of every three. It's not gonna be a 5050.
- 20:56They're also fighting for a playoff spot.
- 20:57They have to play their best players.
- 20:59That's true, yeah. The hubs are giving them a run
- 21:00for their money right now so. That's true.
- 21:03It's not for granted. Anymore.
- 21:06Doves are Marilyn and the rest of the season.
- 21:10Dobesh is it actually? Dobesh.
- 21:13Yeah, yeah, OK, Noted. Noted.
- 21:19All right, so next you got Dowdy is practicing in a contact
- 21:24jersey. His return is imminent and he's
- 21:26going to slot on power play. One, I will admit defeat because
- 21:29I was a clerk treasurer for a long time and that is not
- 21:32happening. He's only 58% owned.
- 21:34So scoop him now if you can, and if he's free, what Clark was
- 21:39getting looks at, right? Yes.
- 21:41He was that's. Crazy.
- 21:44Is it gonna be 1 of? Those rare defensemen right wing
- 21:47dual positions. I mean that would.
- 21:49Be I don't, I don't know if he'll have extended play there
- 21:52that he'll get the eligibility, but for actual hockey, that's
- 21:57still really fun so. The one thing with this um,
- 22:01Dowdy, if he doesn't come back like by next week, then Jordan
- 22:05Spence has been on the power play.
- 22:07One had a really good last three games.
- 22:09But anyway, for now, I mean Dowdy is just going to be the
- 22:12guy there when he gets back. But honestly, this is very
- 22:13exciting about Clark. It's like a reverse Jackson
- 22:16Lacombe, so I wonder how it'll go, but I've never really seen
- 22:23this in the NHL before. Defenseman going forward and
- 22:26having it be a sustainable thing other than like Brendan Smith,
- 22:29but he plays 8 minutes a night every five games they put.
- 22:32Him it was like 3-4 days ago where during the game day they
- 22:35put Clark up on the in right wing.
- 22:39But he said like he loves playing defence and he wants to
- 22:41be defenceman so he'll but like he'll do whatever it takes for
- 22:45the team, you know, whatever the coach wants to do.
- 22:48So it's one of those questions, I don't think extended look
- 22:50there, but it's still fun to mention, yeah.
- 22:52But anyways, back to Dowdy. I do think this is could only be
- 22:56positive for the Kings. They've been pretty brutal at
- 22:59goal scoring over the past couple of weeks.
- 23:01Like they're really scoring not a lot of goals.
- 23:03So I think especially those guys on power play one, like the only
- 23:06guy who's been consistently scoring on that entire team is
- 23:08Kempe. Everyone else like other like
- 23:10power play one, guys you look at like Kopitar, looking at
- 23:13Byfield, you're looking at Fiala.
- 23:14Like those have been pretty horrendous lately points wise.
- 23:17So hopefully if you're one of those there's, you know, Dowdy
- 23:20coming in, really, you know, a good power play quarterback
- 23:23changes the whole, whole view of it.
- 23:26So this could be a good time to buy low on those guys, if you
- 23:28believe in that, yeah. No doubt about that slaps me.
- 23:35Thanks guys. Now you're all.
- 23:36Week but. Come out now.
- 23:39Hours though, Yeah, No, not. Exactly, I'm a bit rusty.
- 23:42I'm still getting acclimatized. It's true.
- 23:46So we got Circuit. Chev missed two games but he may
- 23:48be back by the time this goes live.
- 23:50He's a buy low for the moment. Agreed.
- 23:53Circuit check was great and I mean he's no John.
- 23:55I think he's a great. Highlight, to be honest, yeah.
- 23:59Or the injury I know I've. Looked so.
- 24:01I I agree that he's a, he's a good buy low and I saw he's out
- 24:03again tonight, but it's still like day-to-day type of thing.
- 24:06So yeah, he could be back any day now.
- 24:08And yeah, he's been, he's been brutal.
- 24:10But Utah is a very streaky team and when their power play
- 24:13clicks, they scored in bunches. So having the quarterback for
- 24:15that power play is someone I really like, I think.
- 24:18He's one of the more underrated fantasy defensemen out there.
- 24:21I would take him ahead of a lot of guys.
- 24:23I rate him pretty highly rest of season.
- 24:25Probably like a top 10 fantasy defenseman.
- 24:28Wow, really? That's a stretch to me, but top
- 24:3010? Who are you taking top 10?
- 24:33Macar Quinn Hughes wrote Yosie. That's three Werenski, 4
- 24:38Darlene. That's 5-6 Cider 7 Morrissey.
- 24:44No, you're, you're. Taking Sergachev.
- 24:47Morrissey. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 24:49Yeah, I'm. Thinking Headman.
- 24:50I'm thinking Hedman ahead of him.
- 24:51I'm taking Adam Fox ahead of him.
- 24:54That's nine so far, maybe weaker.
- 24:56OK, that's 10. So he's not 1010.
- 24:58Defensemen. But.
- 24:59After that, who else like I would take Morrissey?
- 25:03Morrissey easily. OK, then one of the.
- 25:05Other names you're not taking anymore.
- 25:07He's going to know. Barring injury, I take.
- 25:09Dobson over him I would take. Over Dobson, thanks for coming
- 25:15over more things for cheap over Hamilton over Lane Hudson.
- 25:19Yeah, that's. Crazy.
- 25:21I mean, he just got. Better category coverage His
- 25:24category. Is not that great though.
- 25:26I. Mean for defensemen, you're
- 25:28getting blocked, you're getting shots, and you know, his
- 25:30deployment is like solid points. But when he's not getting points
- 25:34and his cats are like, OK, like I like him, I think he's good,
- 25:37but I think I don't think he's sniffing the top ten.
- 25:39I. Mean, I think he's definitely
- 25:41around there, 10/11, it's close enough, yeah.
- 25:44Close enough. Anyways I.
- 25:46Guess like, I mean, I was pretty shocked you said that.
- 25:48Now I'm looking into this. It's not that much of A stretch,
- 25:50but yeah, good. Good bye.
- 25:52Lo, I just one quick thing. I saw a redraft of the 2016 NHL
- 25:56draft. It was like a post on Instagram
- 25:58and Sergachev went 9th overall in that redraft of like, if you
- 26:02drafted them today, guess where he went ninth?
- 26:04Guess who picked him? The Habs.
- 26:06Guess who he never played for the Habs.
- 26:08Devastating. Yeah, at least we got.
- 26:10Jonathan Drouin, who was amazing for us.
- 26:13No. Yeah, seriously.
- 26:16OK, then we got Adam Lowry out week to week.
- 26:19Josh and Kevin rejoice. Big elephant.
- 26:22We do. I just.
- 26:23Rejoice. I've got that industry.
- 26:26You can what? You put it in my pants just for
- 26:32me. You're gonna get.
- 26:33US banned draw dropping dropping curse words and stuff and my
- 26:39goodness. Not that you'll hear it because
- 26:40it will be bleeped, but still. It may have happened, it may
- 26:43have not. Anyway, Big L for The Jets IRL,
- 26:46but not too fantasy relevant. Not much to say here, anybody,
- 26:51no. I mean he's like solid guy and
- 26:54like deeper Bangor face off when leagues that count shorthanded
- 26:57points because he's guaranteed to Shorty every time.
- 26:59So I think that's. Only our league, but yeah, he
- 27:01only gets one when he plays me. Yeah, yeah, that too, but.
- 27:06Yeah, no. So I don't think it really
- 27:08affects much. And it's not like his deployment
- 27:09has like a hole that's important to fill because it was like line
- 27:133 power play 2 or something like that.
- 27:14Yeah. But this next news is pretty
- 27:17interesting, William. Carlson week to week, bad for
- 27:20Vegas in real life. Not too fantasy relevant, but
- 27:23what do you think of? I mean, he was.
- 27:24Playing in the top six like here and there, to be honest.
- 27:27And I mean, maybe I'm just remembering the crazy week he
- 27:30had against me. Because.
- 27:33He, I think he scored like his first hat trick or something or
- 27:35just got three points. No, he's really like if if you
- 27:37go look at his like game logs and like past month averages and
- 27:40he's an average. He's really been kind of like,
- 27:42not relevant this year, but I can.
- 27:44Pinpoint exactly the week he played against, Yeah.
- 27:46No, but he's like in the past, he's shown flashes of being
- 27:50relevant. He's a good streamer guy.
- 27:51Yeah, like if you're in a deeper bang your face off when league,
- 27:54you know, then he could be a hold.
- 27:55But this really doesn't swing the needle for anyone.
- 27:58Yeah, No, it's not. Relevant at all, My bad.
- 28:02OK. And you, didn't you?
- 28:05Didn't need to make it an awkward pause like that Jakey
- 28:07day he doesn't really want to be you really want to expose me
- 28:12like that because we. Wrote not fantasy relevant and
- 28:15it's like wait it's fantasy relevant and then on second
- 28:17thought I just remember. Playing as William Carson
- 28:22earlier this season, he had like a nasty week.
- 28:24I think it was just when he came back from injury.
- 28:27Yeah, him and Adam Lauer just they're out to get you, Kevin.
- 28:30Honestly, they are. Yeah, and.
- 28:32Then yeah, last but not least, Patrick Kane is day-to-day with
- 28:35an upper body injury. Tarasenko currently taking his
- 28:37spot on power play one. Kane's been awesome lately and
- 28:42the the wings over all have slowed down since they're insane
- 28:44stretch, but like still been pretty good.
- 28:46One thing I would say, I'm looking at these top 2 lines
- 28:51honestly, I think Patrick Kane easily goes back to the power
- 28:54play one. Do you guys agree?
- 28:55No question. For sure.
- 28:57One thing I will say though is where does Marco Casper go when
- 29:01Patrick Kane comes back? Because he's been pretty good.
- 29:03Like he looks great on ways even with he.
- 29:05Was in the yeah. So basically this just screws
- 29:09over Tarasenko in both line 2 and power play.
- 29:12One ways, yeah. Exactly.
- 29:14OK. Cool.
- 29:15So if yeah, I mean just honestly with.
- 29:18How insane the Red Wings power play has been lately, like
- 29:21they're currently I think ranked second power play in the league
- 29:23and they were not that anywhere near that like a month ago.
- 29:26You know, they've been kind. Of cold, though now they're 1
- 29:28from 9 in their last power plays where they were before they were
- 29:31like 18 for 30 or something, which obviously we knew they
- 29:34were due for some regression. Mean Dylan Larkin was last
- 29:39episode, yeah. No, but you're still hot.
- 29:42Without just. Crazy hot they've been, even if
- 29:43they slowed down a little bit, like if this was a longer term
- 29:46injury, I'd be rushing to grab Tarasenko.
- 29:49The fact that it's day-to-day is like, I don't wanna spend an add
- 29:51on Tarasenko and then Kane comes back the next day.
- 29:54So that's like until there's more clarity on that.
- 29:56I wouldn't like rush to pick him up.
- 29:58But I do think a spot on that first Detroit power play these
- 30:01days is pretty valuable. I agree.
- 30:04Yeah, Todd. McLellan heard that.
- 30:05We called him a defensive coach and he took it really personally
- 30:08and now they've been offensively elite so, but only.
- 30:11On the power play they've been, damn it.
- 30:14Gosh darn you guys. Whoops.
- 30:20Listening. Don't swear.
- 30:21Yeah, yeah. Bangor Management.
- 30:22With Jake and the potty mouths. My gosh, this is on Hinge today.
- 30:29It's never been like this. I swear this never happens.
- 30:34OK, so let's move on to our bonus segment this week.
- 30:39JT Miller hot or not? OK, so this.
- 30:43Part like huge debate in our group chat mostly.
- 30:46Mostly because Jackie has looks right?
- 30:51I would do nasty things to Jmiller.
- 30:53No, sorry, we could. Do I have to bleep that out?
- 30:58Probably not. Enough with the rejoicing,
- 31:00Kevin. Enjoy stuff for For Today
- 31:05lifetime. Anyway, I'm going to continue
- 31:11but. I, I think over the last couple
- 31:13of days, we definitely realized that I think Jake completely
- 31:16disagrees with us on, on JT Miller's fantasy outlook rest of
- 31:19the season. And it was too hot to not talk
- 31:21about it on the podcast. Yeah.
- 31:23So shall I start with the bear case?
- 31:26Yeah. OK, so the the basically Jackie
- 31:29did finance. In case you can't tell by that.
- 31:32Jackie thinks you should sell JT Miller because, I mean, the
- 31:35trade seems like it's basically about to happen.
- 31:38Probably the Rangers, maybe a couple other teams.
- 31:41But Jackie thinks no matter where he goes, he'll be worse
- 31:44than what he is now, which he's been pretty, pretty cold for the
- 31:47last two weeks, specifically. The last month has definitely
- 31:50not been the best, but I disagree with that.
- 31:53I think that no matter where he goes, he'll be better.
- 31:55And I would say J's a bi lo and Jake, he's calling myself high.
- 31:59So that's the, that's the main, the main thing, so.
- 32:03Basically like I'll just give you like a few basic points of
- 32:06why I think that he's a cell high OK, First of all, I think
- 32:12he's going to keep being a double double wherever he goes.
- 32:14So the proofs are there. That's great, but you didn't
- 32:16pick JT top ten overall in Bangor leagues for just this
- 32:19peripherals. You picked him because you think
- 32:22he's an amazing overall player for Bangor leagues.
- 32:24Also probably top two rounds for points lease.
- 32:26He's got 1.25 last year. I don't think that's going to
- 32:29happen. I think he's going to be .8 to
- 32:31.9 wherever he goes rest of season.
- 32:34But what I think is you can do is sell him on the hype of a new
- 32:38team. And the reason I think that the
- 32:41new environment actually makes it more of a cell as opposed to
- 32:44a buy is because when players who are of an elite pedigree go
- 32:48from there being like on a decent team, whatever, to like,
- 32:53let's say a contender playoff team, they ultimately have
- 32:57regressed most of the time. And I think a big distinction of
- 33:01like whether or not a player is going to succeed on a new team
- 33:04is, is this player the guy on a current team or is he good
- 33:08complementary player? So just to name a few, Chemo
- 33:12Meyer, Patrick Kane and Bo Horvat Bohora was sick on
- 33:15Vancouver before he got traded. So but these guys went to new
- 33:19teams, slowed down tremendously. Whereas you have like Claude
- 33:22Giroux and Jake Guentzel who went to new teams midway through
- 33:25the year, not off season where you could practice midway midway
- 33:29through the year. They did well.
- 33:30My point is that I don't think JT Miller is going to be the
- 33:34guy, the number one player on wherever he goes.
- 33:36And I think for that reason, people will think he will be and
- 33:41therefore you're going to be able to sell them for that.
- 33:44This is gotta be elite, elite targets.
- 33:47That's why he's essentially my cell.
- 33:49But I can see also why this could go the other way.
- 33:52And I'm sure you guys can present a great case for that.
- 33:55I mean, but you're saying that you can sell him for an elite,
- 33:58elite target? Like nobody's taking JT for
- 34:00anybody that's elite right now because he's been not good and
- 34:05he has a lot of uncertainty with the trade, right?
- 34:06Like if he goes to the Rangers, he's logging into that top 6 for
- 34:09sure. He's gonna play on the wing most
- 34:11likely. We don't know who goes the other
- 34:13way. Like let's say it's a quieter or
- 34:15Lafreniere or something. But I wouldn't be surprised if
- 34:17if J's right wing on line 1 and line 2 and he's getting the P1,
- 34:22maybe he won't get face offs anymore if you're a face off
- 34:24league. But I think his category still
- 34:26be there and his points outlook should probably be just as good
- 34:30or better. The worst thing would be if
- 34:32because the Rangers is playoff schedule gets worse, but if
- 34:36we're talking just regular season production, this one
- 34:38sorry. I felt hesitation before, yeah.
- 34:44But either way I I feel like I just disagree with you what
- 34:47you're saying because who are you trading him for?
- 34:50You're saying aim high but you can't aim high so how?
- 34:53Like who are you taking say? So I get where Jake is coming
- 34:57from, I disagree, but I get where he's coming from and like
- 34:59the logic makes sense. The one thing though is that you
- 35:02said that you see him being a point 8.9 guy where he goes, but
- 35:06that's currently what he's doing.
- 35:08So this wouldn't be like a sell high.
- 35:09A cell high would be if he's currently doing like 1.2 and you
- 35:12think it's going to drop to that point 8.9, then that's a cell
- 35:15high. You're right now like you're
- 35:16just saying sell him for his current value, which is way
- 35:19lower than his value should have been at the start of the season,
- 35:21which is essentially a cell low. So that's where I disagree.
- 35:24I don't disagree that I mean I think he's gonna get better with
- 35:27the trade, but I think that's very much like it could go
- 35:30either way. Like you said.
- 35:31I think the main thing I disagree with is the fact that
- 35:33he's a sell high cuz I just don't think he has high highest
- 35:35value right now. Who's training?
- 35:37For Drake so. I'll just answer Josh's question
- 35:40and then get into that. The reason I'm saying that is
- 35:43because, yes, his value is going to stay the way it is.
- 35:46He's gonna keep doing what he's doing, but when he gets traded,
- 35:49people are going to think like, well, like you guys, that he's
- 35:52going to do way better than I think he's going to do.
- 35:55So that's where you can sell the hype.
- 35:57So right now, if you try to sell me JT Miller for, I'll use an
- 36:03example of somebody on my way for the.
- 36:05Trade to happen and then try to sell, yeah.
- 36:07This is you gotta wait for the actual in real life trade to
- 36:10happen. But I literally think any change
- 36:11of pace unless he goes to like a garbage team like is a is what
- 36:17fantasy owners are going to think.
- 36:18This is an upgrade from his current disaster situation in
- 36:21Vancouver. So um, basically that's what I'm
- 36:24saying is once the trade happens then you sell him.
- 36:27So not now. If someone tried to trade me,
- 36:30I'd say he goes to Carolina or the Rangers. 2 good teams where
- 36:34he should be better but I don't necessarily think he wanted to
- 36:36go to. Carolina, if I had the choice.
- 36:38I think he wants to go there. I mean, he was laughing as the
- 36:41two see there and he'd be sick. Yeah, I think you.
- 36:43Do a lot better on Carolina, by the way, than the Rangers.
- 36:46So anyway. But that's just an idea.
- 36:50Who would you rather Forsberg or JT Miller?
- 36:52Forsberg. Josh Miller See, that's what
- 36:56I'm. Saying right now, but when he
- 36:58gets traded to a new team and it's like, oh, he goes when he
- 37:00gets traded to. New team JT, but nobody's doing
- 37:03force work for JT right now. See, that's what I'm.
- 37:05Saying though when he gets traded to a new team, I would
- 37:07not trade Forsberg away for JT after looking into this more or
- 37:11Marner. You know these are guys who I
- 37:13think are realistic targets. Pasternak right?
- 37:16JT goes to a new team who like Pasta.
- 37:18Like arguably got drafted before him, right?
- 37:20So like that's you're already shooting for for hire.
- 37:25Saying now it's it's less about the fact that he's a cell high
- 37:27now more just the second he gets traded, you know, his value is
- 37:31gonna go up to the, you know, expected like a lot some people
- 37:34it's gonna be split half. Some people think he's worse,
- 37:36some people think is better. You find the guy in your league
- 37:38who thinks he's gonna be better and you sell him on that value
- 37:40and you could get a more guaranteed guy than J's kind of
- 37:45question mark. So I get what you're saying, but
- 37:47that's exactly, but I think by all it takes is one person
- 37:50thinking that he's going to get better like me and Kevin do and
- 37:53then you sell it to that person and does it by J.
- 37:56Now while his value is low, I think he's a buy.
- 37:59Low now, but and can you take me saying that he could become a
- 38:01cell high the second the trade goes through?
- 38:02So I think I think both are true.
- 38:04It's it's very exciting if you're if you've been interested
- 38:08in trading for JT and also if you own JT, but I would
- 38:11personally once he gets straight like do you guys remember when
- 38:14Timo Meyer went to the double S and we thought he was going to
- 38:16be elite yes mean they're just. They're just dumb, yeah.
- 38:20They're playing. Teemo like $8 million to not be
- 38:23on PP one. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:25But remember that like we were all super excited about that,
- 38:28you know, and so I mean, if GT. Doesn't end up being on P1
- 38:30wherever he goes, and obviously it's a huge L and I would not
- 38:33have this opinion, right? I'm just assuming that wherever
- 38:35he goes, I'm gonna use them, so I do.
- 38:37To cut you guys off, but actually one of our later
- 38:40episodes this week is gonna be discussing JT so I feel like we
- 38:43should we should wrap it up cause we're gonna be talking
- 38:45about it again soon yeah it's a. Very interesting discussion at
- 38:49the end of the day. We'll dive more into it later,
- 38:51but yeah, it's a very exciting time to around this whole JT
- 38:55situation. So move on to the would you
- 38:56rathers, um, for the rest of season.
- 38:59So we got Frank Vatrano or Lucas Raymond Camel.
- 39:02You just. Did me like that, but that's
- 39:04fine. Yeah, that's.
- 39:05Crazy. I gotta leave it to the Would
- 39:07you rather I'm? So sorry, do you want to edit
- 39:10the whole thing out? No, not.
- 39:12Editing that out, I'm keeping it in.
- 39:13That's OK, fine. You changed, man.
- 39:17You changed. You'll take.
- 39:19The next floor, he'll take the next 4.
- 39:22Alright, I could, I could start on this one.
- 39:24To me it's an easy Lucas Raymond and I don't know about you guys.
- 39:28I mean, I'm looking at their numbers right now over the past.
- 39:31I mean the category. Coverage is the main difference,
- 39:34right? Even that.
- 39:34Massive yes, Vetrano is the cat guy and Raymond to the points
- 39:39guy. But if I'm looking at past month
- 39:42right now, first of all the difference in points is.
- 39:45Points per game. I don't.
- 39:46Expect to stay at this level though it's gonna be close in.
- 39:49This but remains gonna end up with more points than I know.
- 39:51I don't think that's a hot take. Their shots on goal are almost
- 39:53the same and Vetrano gets an extra 1.2 hits and an extra .5
- 39:57blocks. So to me, it's an easy Raymond
- 40:00if you look at it. On the season, Vetrano averages
- 40:033.2 shots and 2.5 hits, which is honestly elite category
- 40:07coverage, whereas Raymond is more like 2 shots 0.5 hits.
- 40:11So you're getting extra two hits from Vagino, an extra shot a
- 40:15game from Vacchiano, and the points should be?
- 40:185.6 points and you're losing the four powerful points.
- 40:21But that's the thing. How?
- 40:22Close. Do you think the points gap is
- 40:23going to be and doesn't make up for like the the elite double
- 40:25double the Toronto is? Raymond's breakout year, I think
- 40:28he's been unreal. And if he wasn't on a team with
- 40:30a terrible, terrible, like playoff schedule, then I would
- 40:34have tried to trade for him earlier.
- 40:35But yeah, no, to me it's not close.
- 40:38But I think it's just they're just two different types of
- 40:40players, but the difference is too far apart.
- 40:42Even though the Caps difference is also far apart, it's just
- 40:45not. So when you look at Raymond
- 40:46stats for the season, he's averaging like 1.1 points per
- 40:48game, but half of those are power play points, which never,
- 40:51never six, right? So like you're kind of assuming
- 40:53that he's going to regress in some way.
- 40:54The power plays gonna regress. If he if he regresses .2 in the
- 40:57power play, he's at .3 power play points on the season and
- 40:59he'll average like .9 which I think points.
- 41:03Going up that much more than what he's at now, I don't see
- 41:05why he would finish higher than .6.
- 41:07Yeah, that's. Fair, but then at that point it
- 41:08was a .3 difference which is obviously a more of a
- 41:11conversation. Like, the way I see it is that
- 41:15I'm gonna pick Raymond because points are harder to come by.
- 41:17That's like simply what it is. And I think that the difference
- 41:20there makes up for it. Also, if you wanted to pick like
- 41:23you have one of the each, you wanna pick a guy up from
- 41:25waivers, who would you rather, Vetrano plus, like Kent Johnson
- 41:29or Raymond plus Nita rider? You know what I mean?
- 41:32You could pick up Nita riders easier, I think.
- 41:35And Ken Johnson's points are too volatile.
- 41:37So to me, that's why I'm like, OK, go for the points guy.
- 41:40And I think it's just a safer bet.
- 41:42Yeah, I mean, I I take Raymond as well.
- 41:45All in agreement. Look at that.
- 41:46All right, Kevin move on. I.
- 41:48Started off with a little ball, OK.
- 41:50OK, fair enough. Alright, the next one.
- 41:53It's because I said it. That's why exactly little.
- 41:57Trap for you fell right into it. Alright, this one is talking
- 42:03goalies. Who would you rather have rest
- 42:05of the season, Aiden Hill or Jeremy Sweetman?
- 42:09That's a tough one. I think I'm gonna go swimming,
- 42:12yeah, because Boston's going to be fighting for a playoff spot,
- 42:16whereas I think Vegas is a little safer in that way.
- 42:19And I just. Samsonov is not necessarily been
- 42:22a 1B, but he's played more than your average second tier goalie
- 42:26or Corpus. They alternate every.
- 42:27Starts. It's literally a 5050 there.
- 42:29Yeah, but you know, Vegas is a juggernaut and the quality is
- 42:33always going to be good. Exactly.
- 42:35Like to meet, you need like swimming has the most saves of
- 42:38any Golian Angel over the past month.
- 42:40And that's because they need to play their best guy because
- 42:42they're finally starting to heat up, as Josh mentioned.
- 42:45So that's why I'm going to go with swimming because, you know,
- 42:48the fantasy playoffs are the end of the regular season.
- 42:50They want to make the playoffs. That's why it's just simple.
- 42:54Who gets more? Wins even with the starts
- 42:56disparity though. I I would say swimming because
- 43:00it's they're alternating in Vegas now I.
- 43:02I think I'd still take Eden Hill.
- 43:05Josh, I'm. The tiebreaker.
- 43:06Usually I I talk so fast that I don't get to be the tiebreaker,
- 43:09but I say who? Who gets more wins?
- 43:11I think Eden Hill gets more OK. My choice for between the two
- 43:15would be swimming, but I do think he'll get more wins.
- 43:18But but yeah, I think it's pretty much everything that you
- 43:20guys said. The fact that Hill and and
- 43:23Samsonov are now splitting starts pretty evenly, which, you
- 43:27know, you guys kind of like said would happen earlier.
- 43:29But I still think he's gonna get the majority of the starts from
- 43:31when we made the bet. So I'm still feeling confident.
- 43:35Oh, yeah, no, no, he'll he'll should still get more saves
- 43:37because Vegas is that much better of a team.
- 43:39But swimming is a great goalie. It's hard to find a guy who's
- 43:42gonna put up solid rate stats while also getting the quantity
- 43:44that he's gonna get. I will say this is just random
- 43:47fun fact, but I just searched up there.
- 43:49I just searched up like their numbers to compare and it says
- 43:52that Swami's day-to-day with an undisclosed issue.
- 43:54So yeah, just. Saw that too, I don't have the
- 43:57time. Of that I made this that was not
- 43:59let that. Affect what you rather the
- 44:01sanctity of the would you rather but just an interesting thank
- 44:03you for not. Respecting the sanctity of the
- 44:05rather. Yeah.
- 44:06And really appreciate it. Yeah, exactly.
- 44:08Not everybody can be as graceful as you, but I know.
- 44:11I would. Also I take swimming but I think
- 44:14it's close. I think you're comparing 2
- 44:16really good goalies. Is that truly a hill you want to
- 44:20die on moving? On moving money all right,
- 44:26defenseman rest of season Josh Morrissey or Miro Heiskanen and
- 44:32I'm I'm a noted haskin and hater for fantasy, but I think Dallas
- 44:36is heating up right now and I kind of want Hassan on my team.
- 44:40I I like. Morrissey.
- 44:42Yeah. Because for the same reasons as
- 44:44you don't like him. Kevin Haskins.
- 44:46Just very inconsistent. And yeah, yeah, I just feel more
- 44:51comfortable having Morrissey, you know, I'm looking.
- 44:54At their their numbers now and for some reason in my mind like
- 44:57I'm so much higher on Morrissey than he's going like he's gonna
- 45:00just kind of like you guys I. Was the Josh Morrissey truther.
- 45:04I got him on his breakout year. Yeah, I'm good with these
- 45:07defensemen. And then you guys don't trust me
- 45:10on this. I don't know.
- 45:10I I like casting the rest of the season more.
- 45:13Yeah, so. Anyway, so I'm looking at their
- 45:14their numbers and the same reason why I think he's gonna
- 45:18sucks for fantasy. I'm looking and like it seems
- 45:20like Marcy is the exact same archetype right now.
- 45:22Like both of them pretty much get no pricks and they're both
- 45:25on great teams but aren't putting up the level of points
- 45:27that you would hope or expect from them.
- 45:29So I think this one is very much based on rest of season.
- 45:33Which team do you think does better?
- 45:35And you know which of them gets in more involved in the points.
- 45:38And the fact is, with how hot Winnipeg has been over the
- 45:41course of this season, if these are the numbers that were
- 45:43they're putting and they're not that much better than he's been
- 45:45in, then I think I might go with his skin as well.
- 45:48I. Go hey, it's good because Dallas
- 45:50has been really bad to start the year, like in terms of their
- 45:53power play and some of their stars for fantasy.
- 45:56But right now they're heating up.
- 45:58Like we're seeing guys like Jason Robertson and White
- 46:01Jonathan go pretty crazy for fantasy and I think has really
- 46:04benefited from that on the power play.
- 46:05And I think it's 55 production is going to go up as well rest
- 46:08of the season. Whereas Josh Morrissey, I feel
- 46:09like he's just been like, OK, not great for fantasy.
- 46:12Like this whole season, like when they were really hot, when
- 46:14they went like 16 games unbeaten to start the year, obviously
- 46:17that was really really. But since then their power play
- 46:20is kind of slowed down a little bit and he's already getting
- 46:23involved in that. So I go haskin rest of the
- 46:27season. Yeah, I think I go.
- 46:29Yeah, I'm. Still on Morrissey, but you make
- 46:32compelling points. I think it's.
- 46:34Close either way, but yeah, all right, next to one another
- 46:36Winnipeg Jet, we're talking centres right now.
- 46:38We're going Mark Shifley or Joel Ericsson, Ek rest of the season
- 46:43I'm. Going to go with chiefly I just
- 46:45think that the points discrepancy is similar to the
- 46:48Toronto Raymond situation. I just think the point
- 46:50discrepancy is too big. Joel Ericsson Ek is a banger
- 46:52league stud though. Love both of them, but yeah,
- 46:56chiefly I just think is a more rare commodity I'm.
- 47:00Gonna actually, my first instinct was to say Shiflet just
- 47:04because I've had Ericson and he's been super frustrating.
- 47:07But I'm actually looking at their stats on the last like a
- 47:10month and the difference in points is .28.
- 47:15And then every other category, Eric Synek is ahead.
- 47:18He's gonna get you like an extra shot.
- 47:20He's gonna get you an extra hit, he's gonna get you like an extra
- 47:22half. But this was the.
- 47:23Raymond versus Toronto conversation we just had, yeah,
- 47:26but here. Like the here's the difference.
- 47:27The difference is with Vetrano, I didn't see any reason why his
- 47:30points should go up with Ericsson neck.
- 47:32He's been playing without Kaprizov.
- 47:33I know they don't play even strength together, but they play
- 47:35power play together and power play points.
- 47:38Have already still been good last month, yeah.
- 47:40That's without Kaprizov, so things go from point. 6 to 8.5 I
- 47:45mean. Maybe, maybe not, but also .36
- 47:48is. Already pretty easy, even
- 47:49strength. Will improve because before
- 47:52without Kaprizov, the first line was Zuccarello, Boldy and Rossi
- 47:55and he was stuck playing with like bums like Gaudreau and like
- 47:57Hartman. But now that Caprice was back,
- 47:59that bumps body back to his second line even strength.
- 48:01And they're great together, even strength.
- 48:03So I think his even strength points are going to go up to.
- 48:05So I'm going with Eric Snack because I think the difference
- 48:07in points is going to be small enough that the difference in
- 48:10bangers is going to make it a difference.
- 48:13That's a fair point because I change your mind.
- 48:16Like it's pretty close. It's more so, ah, yeah, fine.
- 48:24I have wondered. I wanna go Joe's go inverted.
- 48:30Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's no, that was a good one,
- 48:32yeah. You're gonna laugh more.
- 48:35Of that one. I love that, Josh.
- 48:36Thanks. What?
- 48:38Why? What?
- 48:38Did it? What happened?
- 48:40He converted his wife. Oh my God.
- 48:42I was like why? Cause you introduced Kevin to
- 48:45Terraforming Mars. He did, and that's sick.
- 48:50Honestly, I was referring to if I was an apostle.
- 48:54Of terraforming Mars I'd have like the most conversions of
- 48:57like anyone I've read so many people terraforming Mars
- 49:00truthers you're about to get an. E-mail from like Jehovah's
- 49:02Witnesses right now recruiting you.
- 49:04Yeah, cause yeah. You're gonna get a consulting
- 49:10job with the job, Yeah. They need your tips.
- 49:17I mean, I guess, I guess that doesn't my mic doesn't matter
- 49:20anymore. I was this was super tight for
- 49:22me. I think they're really both
- 49:24great centres. I wanna say Shively just because
- 49:27I think he still gets more points.
- 49:29Like I still think he averages more like 0.3 more points than
- 49:33Eric's neck rest of the season. And if that's the case, I think
- 49:36like the category coverage doesn't make up for it.
- 49:39But it's super tight honestly. Like honestly, this one can go
- 49:41either way. One other difference.
- 49:42Also with the other case that we had to mentioned with the
- 49:45Vetrano and the Raymond is that even while Shipley's got more
- 49:49points right now has more power play points.
- 49:51So like, it's not even like a pure, like one guy's the points
- 49:55points guy and the other one the bangers, it's like he's got .3
- 49:58points more, but literally everything else, including some
- 50:00points cats. Erickson, Yeah.
- 50:02So the 55 regression helps then it's just kind of like pure
- 50:06extra bonus points. Yeah, exactly.
- 50:09Last. One Matt Barzel or Marty Natures
- 50:13rest of season for right wings. That one's easy for.
- 50:16Me, I'm going Matt Barzel. I was never I was never in each
- 50:20believer when he was in going insane.
- 50:22And now I'm definitely not an atheist believer and I was
- 50:24always a Barzel believer, even when he was injured and doing
- 50:26terribly. But he was.
- 50:27He was. Bylaw for us for a while too.
- 50:29I know I tried. Buying low on him so hard but I
- 50:31know no. One trades in our league.
- 50:32So it was, it didn't happen, but but yeah, no, for me, it's an
- 50:35easy Barzel. I think what's happening now
- 50:37with Barzel like soaring and nature's faltering is pretty
- 50:40much exactly what I expected to happen.
- 50:42I mean nature. Hasn't been faltering that much.
- 50:44Like if you look right now, it's still pretty sick.
- 50:46Yeah, point per. Game .7 over the past like
- 50:49month. .14 power play points like less than two shots the
- 50:53the. Carolina power play has been
- 50:54really bad lately, to be honest. Like none of their guys are
- 50:57getting power play points and we know that there supposed to be a
- 50:59power play, so that's kind of concerning, but you kind of
- 51:01expect them to find form at some point.
- 51:03It's like, it's not like the others have a really good power
- 51:06play. No balls, just a better player I
- 51:09will. Save JT Miller centre is aligned
- 51:12with natures on his wing. That's exciting.
- 51:14That's. That would be lit.
- 51:16I think if they get JT, they'd consulted the top 6 I think and
- 51:20they're probably would be 6. There's any way that?
- 51:22JT is not going to the Rangers. I think there's a.
- 51:25Chance towards the range from we'll talk about this in the
- 51:27mail back episode, but I think the teams that I saw were like
- 51:30Devils, Dallas, Dallas, yeah. Yeah.
- 51:33Those teams would all be sick when he gets to talk about it
- 51:35more later, but. Yeah.
- 51:37Let's wrap it up so it bars. Out Kevin who?
- 51:39Yeah, Barzal for. Me OK, this is.
