Transcript
- 0:00All right, Amanda. You know November. Interesting about the month of November.
- 0:03It is the most popular month for engagements. November. Yeah, believe
- 0:07it or not, Amanda, there are stats that show this is the month
- 0:10that the most people will be getting engaged. So if that is you and
- 0:13you got a wedding coming up, you might want to take note here because
- 0:15an expert, an etiquette expert, has shared the top dos and don'ts of
- 0:20wedding speeches and this is this one hits close to home. Is the answer,
- 0:25Just don't do them? Kidding was settled down. It's a joke.
- 0:29It's an exciting moment for it. I do because, as you know,
- 0:35we've all been to a million weddings, there's more bad ones than good ones.
- 0:39It is the nervous bridesmaid. Always, there's the nervous bridesmaid who's going
- 0:43to start the speech with the microphone down by her hip bone and say,
- 0:47for those of you that don't know me, I'm Kristen. And then she's
- 0:51going to share a story about when they were younger, and she's going to
- 0:53talk about how the first time she met the guy, she wasn't so sure
- 0:56about him, but then he grew on her blah blah blah, almost like
- 0:59a Hallmark movie, right, and then of course there's the uncle or the
- 1:02dad who just goes on and on and on. Is the way too long?
- 1:03But these are the notes, okay, So just keep this in mind.
- 1:07Number one, keep it classy, all right, when it comes to
- 1:08the wedding speech, the art of the toast, you just want to keep
- 1:11it class He is tempting as it is as a guy who's obviously you know,
- 1:15you went to college with the groom, and of course I had some
- 1:18crazy stories. I mean, you could allude to that, but don't give
- 1:22like graphic details about a night out or anything. Gotch mother in law,
- 1:26grandma. They don't want to hear it. Practice makes perfect. I feel
- 1:30like a lot of people, can you know, definitely take heed to this
- 1:33advice. You'd just whip it up real quick. Well, everybody, you
- 1:36got two type of people. The one that are gonna have they're gonna pull
- 1:38out like six pages of descripted speech, which you know that's never great either.
- 1:44And then you got the one who's like, a dude, I'm just
- 1:46gonna wing it. I'm just gonna have some fireball. I'm just gonna wing
- 1:49it, and it's almost never good. Nobody wants to be at a wedding
- 1:53with you right now, like the judgment zone is happening. You look out,
- 1:59I'm just sitting in the crowd the pen and the paper, just like
- 2:01taking notes. Keep it upbeat and positive. Oh for sure. Absolutely,
- 2:07you can't go wrong with that. Know your audience. It's another one again.
- 2:10You have the guys, you have the grandma, mom, dad kind
- 2:14of filter on where you just know or you should be taking it. Absolutely,
- 2:17And the number one piece of advice is kiss Amanda K I S S.
- 2:23Keep it short and simple. Oh, I'm like, you're supposed to
- 2:27kiss the bride and grip what where is this? It's customary you give a
- 2:30big smooch. No, I mean, I just can't stress that enough against
- 2:36the worse against It's just the truth. Kiss K I S. S.
- 2:38That's what you might call an acronym. Yeah for what though? Keep it
- 2:42short and and it doesn't get the simple and simple. I agree. You're
- 2:47also the most memorable sometimes I think, yeah, well, I mean,
- 2:51what's the shortest one you've seen. I had a friend who got up there
- 2:53and we think we timed it was like twenty three seconds. Really. I
- 2:58mean it was basically just a toast. It was like, all right,
- 3:00here we go, cheers, have a good night, and everybody went sweet,
- 3:04Oh yeah, you'll be the most popular person at the wedding if you
- 3:06get up there for your best man or bridesmaid speech and it's under a minute.
- 3:09Yeah. I don't think I've ever been to one that was actually short.
- 3:13To be completely honest with you, I feel like they're always drawn out
- 3:15to a couple of minutes and don't so comfortable because you know it's getting to
- 3:20that point and you can see everybody's look on their face and people have kind
- 3:23of checked out. You can hear feeling. You start hearing like a roar,
- 3:28a rumble from the back of the room because people have just given up
- 3:30on listening. Now there's just a million conversations happening. People are at the
- 3:35bar ordering drinks. But it's also for me timing where I kind of blame
- 3:38sometimes the bride and groom for how they set it up that day. You
- 3:43know, some people wait until way later, like let's do it will people
- 3:46are eating make it kind of quick? Yeah, multitaskt a little bit,
- 3:51but then it's tough and I know I sound critical at the end of the
- 3:54day, like you do. Well, yeah, but we're just in a
- 3:58vacuum judging the speech. At the end of the day, it's about the
- 4:00person giving the speech and the bride and groom, Like that's the most important
- 4:03thing. And if that's what you want to use your because for a lot
- 4:06of people as their one opportunity in their whole life to be the best man
- 4:10or the bridesmaid or of honor. I mean, just do what you want.
- 4:13Like, we'll get over it. I'm at the bar, talk and
- 4:15drink it anyway. Who cares. I don't care what's going on. Tune
- 4:16you out. I mean thy minutes ago. Bro, Sure, I'm gonna
- 4:19look at my buddy and be like, jeez, can you believe you're still
- 4:21talking? But I'll be fine. Just do what you want. And the
- 4:27bride and groom. They'll have her recorded, so in five or ten or
- 4:31twenty years from now, when they watch that video or never watch that video
- 4:35again, they'll be like, gosh, that was a sweet that was a
- 4:39sweet speech. Jeez, Dan went on that long. Jeez, takee Amanda
- 4:42in the morning. Dig seven. We do a little thing called is it
- 4:48Weird? It's where we talk about the things that we do in our private
- 4:51time, the things you wonder you know, am I the only one that
- 4:54feels this way or the only one who does this? We just get it
- 4:57out there and we decide is it we I got one, and it makes
- 5:00me feel like I'm a little paranoid, to be honest with you. For
- 5:03sure, Sunday nights, I do it. But I will wake up or
- 5:06even before bed. Last night, I checked my alarm probably seven times before
- 5:13I fell asleep to make sure that it was on. Like I will go
- 5:15to my phone, look at my alarm, make sure that I have all
- 5:18of them on, put it down, go back. I just continuously do
- 5:21it because I just get so anxious as though it's not gonna go off.
- 5:25It's the old did I turn the oven off syndrome. It's so you know
- 5:29you're sure you did, but then it's like you keep thinking about it,
- 5:32and then eventually you're like, oh, I just got to go look,
- 5:34I just got it for peace of mind. I just have to do it
- 5:36to see what happens. Yeah, but I do that with my phone and
- 5:40my alarm all the time. Yeah. No, I'll wake up in the
- 5:43middle of the night to let the dog out or go to the bathroom.
- 5:45And that's I look at it again to make sure, like, hey,
- 5:47is this gonna go off? Did it not? I don't know. I
- 5:50would say that's weird, that's overkill. Yeah, that's something going on upstairs.
- 5:55You might want to get checked out, Like I know people who a
- 5:58friend of mine's dad growing up. He would give us rides, you know,
- 6:00to wherever. But he would be so paranoid that he didn't lock his
- 6:03truck and he would have to walk back to the truck. If we were
- 6:08just like walking into a store. I'm not kidding, like four times what
- 6:11was in his truck? And that would be I know, I know that
- 6:15you have to want it would just be paranoid, just constantly go back,
- 6:18have to jiggle the handle, jiggle it again, jiggle it again. And
- 6:21then he'd be like, I gotta go check again. Why Really, it
- 6:26was like borderline debilitating his obsession with whether any you know what I mean.
- 6:30And that's just what you see. Imagine what's going on in his head as
- 6:31he's just sitting there. Again, I'm just wondering what was he hiding in
- 6:35that truck? All sorts of just paraphernalia. No, all right, man,
- 6:40is it weird that I don't like when the person checking me out at
- 6:44a store or a grocery store comments on what it is that I'm buying.
- 6:48Oh, I do not like when they say something like, for example,
- 6:53Saturday, we went to the grocery store. We were making chili. You
- 6:56know, it's pretty obvious that I'm buying all the ingredients for some chili in
- 6:59the first the obe. They go, oh, looks like you might be
- 7:03making some chili, and I go, yeah, yeah it is. But
- 7:06then like, where do you draw the line, because they're like, well,
- 7:09yeah, if I'm checking out with some you know, I was gonna
- 7:12say scription stuff. Prescription stuff always makes me like weirded out. But now,
- 7:17as a woman, if you're going through and it seems stereotypical, but
- 7:21we've all been there. You're getting tampons, Snickers bars like all this stuff,
- 7:28It's like, what are they gonna say, Well, lady, must
- 7:30be your time in the month stop And as anybody ever said that, you
- 7:34know back in the day, if you're ever is a male, you know,
- 7:38going through to purchase some you know, yeah, if they were to
- 7:43say anything, But then again, It's like the silence is even worse because
- 7:46nobody's saying anything. So what if Dan just looks at you, goes in
- 7:50for a real nice weekend, aren't you. Sometimes I waited to be safe,
- 7:55but I would I would just like break the ice and just say something.
- 7:58They'd be like did you find everything? Or they wouldn't say anything.
- 8:01I would just be like just the one box of you know, that'll be
- 8:03it for me, Thank you? Did you find everything? Okay? No,
- 8:07you could play shows a little bit closer to the checkout thanks. Oh
- 8:11that's yeah. We went to a I had to get a winter jacket finally,
- 8:15because I you know, I don't have a jacket. Yeah, way
- 8:16to go. Just just an idiot thing. But anyway, so you know,
- 8:18checking out, it's like, yeah that that time year. Huh.
- 8:22I'm like, yeah, you just don't like small talk in general. Thats
- 8:24just you know what it's coming. There should be a barrier. I'm fine
- 8:28talking about the weather or the football game or whatever, but don't be commented.
- 8:33There should be a barrier between what I'm like purchasing for me, you
- 8:37know what I mean? Like, it's not even like just pretend you don't
- 8:39see there's a time and a place, Tell me what the price is,
- 8:41Tell me how much coal's cash. I racked up with my purchase. That's
- 8:45funny. We were talking off air too about situations where somebody may recognize your
- 8:50voice but not you, and you're in a circumstance where you're like, I
- 8:54really don't want you to be talking about, like, hey, you're the
- 8:56girl on the radio while I'm you know, the in stirrups. Yeah,
- 9:01yeah, yeah, how's your blood pressure? Great? Oh gosh, that
- 9:07Pike in the morning. It's just so unwilling to pretend we don't know each
- 9:09other. And Amanda in the Morning on stage seven trending. Now here's what
- 9:18you need to know. Well, the Grammy New nominations were out on Friday
- 9:22and leading the way. I was kind of surprised by this. Scizza was
- 9:24the top nominee with nine and I thought for sure would be Taylor Swift,
- 9:28but she was kind of in the mix with about seven other people with seven
- 9:31nominations, Miley Cyrus, Billy Eilish, Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo. But there
- 9:35were some snubs. I saw a lot of people very upset that Morgan Wallen
- 9:39did not get any nomination whatsoever. And then what did they have a whole
- 9:43country category right now, don't they? Right? Yeah, well then that's
- 9:46surprising. I mean he's had what three or four songs on the Billboard charts
- 9:52for weeks pretty much the entire year last night, that was out there for
- 9:56some time. I don't geez, I don't. I would like to.
- 9:58They should have to explain themselves really, yeah, you know what I mean,
- 10:01like, oh, here's why you were close but because of this.
- 10:03But then, of course that wouldn't be as exciting for us. I know
- 10:07another one that also kind of made it over to the crossover world, Luke
- 10:09Combs and Tracy Chapman for Fast Card, didn't make it, so people were
- 10:13well a little up in arms. I don't mind them not including the cover
- 10:16songs, if you know. If that's the case, we need to get
- 10:18low standards and rendition of all the small things on there. And I don't
- 10:22see that on the ballot for next year. Would you say, what's the
- 10:26most dominated sizza? Back in school, I used to always forget my Scissa.
- 10:35I had to borrow the teachers. You're the guy, like around here
- 10:39we have Scissa's labeled here, this day is up front. Yeah, it
- 10:48was the worst dad joke I've heard in a long time. Thank you all
- 10:50right to be I do know who Sissa is and I think she's great.
- 10:56Okay, thank you for clarifying for the people who I thought you were just
- 11:00a rascal right there. And I am not into Marvel movies, to be
- 11:05completely fair or dc any of that, but I believe it was James.
- 11:09He was filling in and there was a movie that was released. You had
- 11:13another man on the show. I had another man on the show, Pike,
- 11:16you weren't here. I had somebody who knew a little bit more than
- 11:18you about the Marvel movie, and I guess he said that it's just gone
- 11:22downhill and that the chances of this movie being successful were pretty slim, and
- 11:26he was right. This weekend it set a record of the lowest launch in
- 11:31the fifteen year franchise history. Still brought in forty seven million dollars, but
- 11:35people were very upset about it. The previous low was set with The Incredible
- 11:39Hulk earning fifty five point four million back in two thousand and eight. But
- 11:43you got to think the money they put into these are you even like getting
- 11:46close to what you know, I think, so I don't think we're at
- 11:48the break even point quite yet. Now. The movie was called what the
- 11:52Marvel the Marvel yeaes the Marvels got I don't know? And I'm with you,
- 11:54man, I don't watch I watched that endgame, the one with the
- 11:58you know what I mean, just by accident, like my brother in law
- 12:01had it on during Thanksgiving or something, but never on purpose. I've never
- 12:05really gotten into any of them. I couldn't tell you. This is why
- 12:07I don't want to speak on it, because people are going to go,
- 12:09You're a big dumb dumb because I don't know which is which with the Avengers
- 12:15and all that, man is the DC thing got it? And then or
- 12:18Spidey Goo That's a good question. I feel like that's but here and now
- 12:22I'm going to risk sounding like a dumb dumb as well. You know what,
- 12:24I can talk to you about the brothers and this is so great.
- 12:28Jason Kelsey of course, a super Bowl championshim, champion and a championshim.
- 12:37You know, you don't really see his channel lot with that beard. He
- 12:41is also a finalist for the Sexiest Man Alive, but over the weekend he
- 12:43was in Chicago and have you ever been to Wiener's Circle that restaurant they just
- 12:48troll people all the time. That's not familiar with the Wiener Circle for years.
- 12:54Anyway you've been to Chicago, I felt like this would have been the
- 12:58top spot for you to go. And uh, I'll put it on the
- 13:01list though for next I do love Chacock Hi down anyway. They give people
- 13:05grief, is that what they do? They do? So they greeted him
- 13:07and on the sign it said welcome Taylor's boyfriend's brother on the restaurant Marquis.
- 13:13I don't know why that had me rolling, mainly because you know, he
- 13:16laughed about it. He didn't care. And weatherwise, today you guys get
- 13:20out and enjoy. If you've got a couple of sick days and you want
- 13:22to be outside, now is the time to use them. I'm gonna beautiful
- 13:26sunshine today, Hi fifty five like in a minute in the morning on Big
- 13:31Nuddy eight points seven. This is gonna be a lifesaver though, because you
- 13:35know, when you had a few drinks, the things you're willing to post,
- 13:39the things you're willing to text, it changes. Little liquid courage is
- 13:43what they call it. Eh, well, it's not even courage. It's
- 13:46just like you're dumb. Your brain just gets stupid. There's no other way
- 13:50to say it. Right the morning you drink, you wake up the next
- 13:52day and you see what you posted or you text, it's like, what
- 13:54am I doing? It's just and it's not always like graphic or grotesque or
- 14:01it's just stupid. It's just things that I'm like, that wasn't funny,
- 14:03that wasn't interesting, It doesn't make sense. It's just embarrassing, you know.
- 14:09But thank god for these researchers at Stanford, very renowned university. Yeah,
- 14:15they've created an app for your smartphone that will detect whether or not you're
- 14:20drunk based on your speech, so you don't have to blow into anything.
- 14:24It simply will detect the frequency of your voice, which of course you might
- 14:28not realize it changes as you're drinking absolutely deeper. It detects that and your
- 14:35speech in general, and it, with ninety eight percent accuracy, can tell
- 14:39if you're above a point oh eight or not really so, and then it
- 14:43won't let allow you to do anything on your phone in that regard. Well,
- 14:46at this point, it's just the technologies. But now that the technology
- 14:50exists, of course, there's going to be other apps that use this to
- 14:52basically lock you out of your phone if you so choose when you're drunk so
- 14:56you don't make those embarrassing posts. I do love is that we get to
- 15:01catch a lot of this because we wake up so early. I mean when
- 15:03my alarm goes off around three point thirty. I get to see because one
- 15:07of the first things I do I start scrolling and you can tell people who
- 15:13I'll screenshot. I'm like, I bet they did not want to post this,
- 15:16and they're airing dirty laundry, tagging people and stuff doing that, and
- 15:20by the time the rest of the world gets up to see it, oh
- 15:22wait gone, And you're right. You see the posts, you're like,
- 15:24well, that's a weird thing to post at eight am. And then you
- 15:28like, oh posted eight hours ago, gotcha? Yep, that makes sense.
- 15:31You do the math, You're like, oh little midnight, little midnight
- 15:33post about your ex or whomever they're with or whatever it is, right,
- 15:39yeah, So, and I get the same way. It's tempting because you,
- 15:41just, like you said, you just you get loose and you feel
- 15:43like everything is now way more interesting. Than it actually is that or it's
- 15:48funny, Like if you do something and everybody around you is laughing at it,
- 15:50it's like, oh yeah, I bet the rest of the world is
- 15:52gonna think that's funny. You know how many times fances are it's not one
- 15:56of our favorite things to do if we don't go out with stan and watch
- 15:58just YouTube videos, a lot of music videos, a lot of old performances
- 16:02from nostalgic bands. And it's with that I know I've hit the point of
- 16:06I shouldn't be posting. Once I start watching Google Doll music videos, that's
- 16:10your limit. That's like your app telling you my wife knows. Once once
- 16:15the Googoo Dolls live performances come on the TV, it's over and I immediately
- 16:18you know, you get this feeling, this like nostalgic emotional feeling, and
- 16:22you convince yourself that not only the Google Doll is great, but they're the
- 16:26greatest band of all time, and you want to post about it. And
- 16:30you want because you feel like everybody else is probably on the same level as
- 16:32you, like how emotional like this is so good, that we're so lucky
- 16:36to have these guys in our lives. See one of them dolls. I
- 16:38love most about you, and a lot of people may not know. This
- 16:41is when you hit your limit. You do you get emotional, you you've
- 16:47you're in a moment people mean, some people getting like fighting me. You
- 16:52know you just kind of step back and just like take in all these feelings.
- 16:55I feel a lot, aman it. You're like all the feels when
- 16:57you have had a couple of toddies. But real talk could be seen any
- 17:00goog Dolls live performances, because I got a few right now, we can
- 17:03watch it. You went to the Goo Goo Dolls ones and I don't even
- 17:06think I cried. Well, you said a lot of bad things too,
- 17:10You said it was bad. It is such a critic, Amanda, Like
- 17:12remember the time I had to get down in the weeds here, But remember
- 17:15the time we went to Pink the first time in snow Patrol opened lovely band.
- 17:19They said, oh is that when I was When I was sleeping.
- 17:23She on the air the next day referred to snow Patrol as snooze Patrol Cash.
- 17:30What a wild thing to say when I was snoozing during snooze Patrol.
- 17:33Pike and Amanda in the morning, come on, get up on Big Amanda
- 17:41Stills the see Let's see. If you love life, you're following along with
- 17:45this love story Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey. Here is what is going down.
- 17:51On Friday, Taylor Swift was supposed to perform in Argentina, kicking back
- 17:55off her Aarris tour. Well it was down pouring rain. Travis Kelsey flew
- 18:00in in the nic of time before there was any rain delays, I'm being
- 18:04told, and they ended We didn't delay the show because his flight was.
- 18:10They delayed it because of the rain, and she moved it till Sunday night.
- 18:12By the way, the airlines actually didn't charge anybody for changing their flights
- 18:17or anything either. I wonder if Taylor had anything to do with it either
- 18:19way, just super cool for people who were going to the show. Must
- 18:22have been an allegiant flight, yeah, probably always accommodating. So here is
- 18:27what went down that night. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey were spotted out for
- 18:32dinner holding hands. They brought along Dad Daddy. Swift met Travis, to
- 18:37our knowledge, for the first time. They must have hit it off because
- 18:40the next night at Taylor's concert, they were in the VIP tent together.
- 18:44A lot of people know this, but Taylor Swift's a huge Eagles fan.
- 18:47Her family is. Her dad was rocking a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard standing next
- 18:52to Travis Kelse, so that was funny. People were trolling him for that,
- 18:55but he was showing his support. And the end of the night,
- 19:00she was singing Karma, and she changed the lyrics to her song and Travis
- 19:06went wild. Listen is the guy Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming
- 19:14straight home to me? His face, he's giddy. Even Taylor's dad is
- 19:18like, yeah, look at this, like just oh my god. And
- 19:22then he started doing the little awkward dance, which oh yeah it was.
- 19:26It was a doorable. He blew her a kiss, He gave her the
- 19:27hearthands a couple of times during the show. Her dad's reaction was by far
- 19:32my favorite. Then they're walking off at the end of it, her and
- 19:34her dad, and she runs up to Travis and gives them a big hug
- 19:38and they make out in front of everybody. I think they're in love.
- 19:42I just wonder how long for him, how many shows before he's like,
- 19:45all right, I don't need to go anymore, you know, what I
- 19:48mean, because like, not to compare the two, but my band low
- 19:49standards, you know how many My wife like right away, she was all
- 19:52gung ho, just like Travis. Oh, this is so cool dating a
- 19:55guy in a band, and then you know, three shows later, she's
- 19:57like, yeah, I'm not gonna go tonight over it completely. I feel
- 20:00like he's close. Well, it'll be interesting to see how they make it
- 20:03work. Though it's very close to the couple say that they have arrangements to
- 20:07make it work because it's going to be long distance for quite some time.
- 20:11He flew back yesterday to Kansas City. Of course, he's going to be
- 20:15finishing out the football season before he can get back out on tour with her.
- 20:18But Thanksgiving that's like the next big holiday. I haven't looked at her
- 20:22tour schedule, but maybe they'll get together. I don't know. I just
- 20:25love this for them. It's adorable, Amanda, it is and Britney Spears
- 20:30kind of chiming in on Taylor Swift. Over the weekend, she threw up
- 20:33a couple of throwback photos of both of them, and in the caption,
- 20:37she said, this is way back when, but kind of cool. During
- 20:40my oops tour. I got a knock on the door. One of my
- 20:41good friends, who was my assistant at the time, said, I have
- 20:45a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you. I
- 20:48was like, of course, he walks in, she sings a beat.
- 20:53This was in her backstage area, IK, yeah, not in her house
- 20:57anyway. She had a guitar and I was like, wow, wow,
- 21:02Wow, she's unbelievable. We took a picture. She then became the most
- 21:06iconic pop woman of our generation. Kind of cool. She plays stadiums.
- 21:10I prefer her videos over movies any day. She's stunning. Girl crush.
- 21:15Well, I don't know what the line about the movie was for Little Shade.
- 21:18I was like, oh, she's awesome. I mean, her movie
- 21:18sucked, but other now she's great. Yeah. And as you're reading through
- 21:22this, you're like, what a great post. And then all of a
- 21:23sudden, she put dot dot dot. She hit enter a couple times.
- 21:27Part two es Mom, I love you so so much. But there were
- 21:33three dolls in the cabinets when I went home two years ago. Kind of
- 21:37really weird. You would have taken them out and then put them back in,
- 21:41so messed up. Nope, I don't want them keep it all.
- 21:45I honestly don't care anymore dot dot dot. Honestly though, why is a
- 21:48mother daughter argument of getting you know, throwing away their childhood crap? Why
- 21:53is that playing out over Instagram? Why is it playing out on a Taylor
- 21:57Swift. Yeah, like gratitude Poet was like, I want to comment on
- 22:02this, but I also don't want to get in the middle of whatever that
- 22:04is. And I don't like this. Matthew Perry's ex girlfriend Katie Edward,
- 22:10speculates that Matthew may have relapsed right before his death. Now, she said,
- 22:15I know Matthew, and I know that he wouldn't have just drowned.
- 22:18I think he might have been just drowned, right. I think he may
- 22:19have taken pills in the weeks leading up to this. Now. I don't
- 22:23know how close they still were. They dated in two thousand and six,
- 22:26she ended up being his assistant in twenty eleven. Maybe they talk from time
- 22:32to time. I just don't like what she's alluding to without really knowing this
- 22:36situation, because he very easily he was playing pickleball for a few hours,
- 22:40he could have who know, I mean, there's so many things that you
- 22:41could have had a heart attack. He didn't just sit in there and drown
- 22:45like nobody thinks that, right, Yeah, I mean, I will admit
- 22:48she probably knows him better than we know him. Yeah, it's not like
- 22:51we not we as and me and you, but we as a society haven't
- 22:53been speculating already. So it's like she's just doing out loud what we've all
- 22:56been doing, and she knows him better. So I know, I get
- 22:59whatever. You know, it's whatever we do find out when this test comes
- 23:03back, which it sounds like could be months. Yeah, it's just sad
- 23:07either way, you know what I mean. Does it make a big difference.
- 23:08I don't know. No, I just don't like I guess in my
- 23:11mindset, I feel like she's trying to get a little clout here talking about
- 23:15it like, oh I dated am, I was assistant, I was the
- 23:18closest to him. I don't like it. One thing people like to do
- 23:19when somebody passes away is they sure like to make it about themselves. So
- 23:23true in the morning, Big naty eight point seven, Well here we are,
- 23:27it's already Jonas brothers will super yes, and we got pair of tickets

- 23:44What are you up to? I'm on my way to the gym. We're
- 23:47just talking about working out in the morning. It's such a game changer,
- 23:49you know, because if we just get up too early, we'd have to
- 23:52work out at like three am. So we don't That would be a real
- 23:55struggle. But you got to feel good getting it out of the way,
- 23:57right absolutely, the rookie, I love it. Well, Brandy, let's
- 24:00get you a chance here to win a pair of these Jonas Brothers tickets.
- 24:03All you got to do, though, successfully win a round of sixty second
- 24:07Showdown show Down boy. So you've heard have you heard? Have you heard
- 24:12the sixty second show Down before? Oh? No, Okay, here's how
- 24:15it goes. You will have seven things that I've written down. You have
- 24:19to get five of them based on the clues Amanda is going to give you.
- 24:23Okay, okay, so in sixty seconds or west, she'll give you
- 24:26clues if you get five, right, bingo, you win. Now the
- 24:29theme today since we did put up our Amanda, like Amanda says, put
- 24:33up Christmas this weekend and watched a couple holiday movies. It's holiday holiday movie
- 24:38theme. Okay, okay, all right, all right, all right,
- 24:41Brandy, sixty seconds going on the clock in three to one. Uh you
- 24:47put this up. It's green. It's a Christmas No, it's the tall
- 24:52one, a pine tree, yep tree. Ooh. If you didn't put
- 24:56up your Christmas in your anti, you are no the Grinch. But oh
- 25:07pass okay. Will Farrell plays this in a movie at Santa's Little Helpers el
- 25:11yep ol. I just talked about that man with the white beard. What's
- 25:15his name? Panta full name? And I was gonna tell you about Scrooge,
- 25:25but it's not. It's the other one. I was going to tell
- 25:26you the green guy who's still oh gosh, the mcallisters Kevin No the name
- 25:34of the movie. Brandy. Wow, very very impressive. You know your
- 25:41stuff. Nice job. And because of that, Brandy, you had just
- 25:45won Jonahs brothers take adds. Who who are you bringing to the show.
- 25:51That's a good question. Well, you got four days about it man,
- 25:55I love it. Well, congratulations Hank ty Brandy. She didn't want to
- 25:57put respect on Santa's full name. I mean, mister class. I know
- 26:02the Saint Nick, Jolly Old, Saint Nicholas, isn't that his real name?
- 26:06First name jolly Old and last name Saint nicholasp you got Pa and Amanda
- 26:11in the morning on Big seven Old Tattoos. Now, there's a line of
- 26:21thinking out there, Amanda. I don't know if you believe this or not,
- 26:22but people with tattoos are bad people, ridiculous, one of these,
- 26:26one of these what you might cause stereotime. Absolutely. Now, I feel
- 26:30like we've come along ways in society over the years of you know, just
- 26:33our tolerance of people with tattoos, people who just look different in general.
- 26:37Oh my gosh, I remember even just ten years ago, probably even longer,
- 26:41gosh, I'm getting old. Fifteen years ago, I remember I had
- 26:45a job as a hostess and the a lot of people had tattoos, and
- 26:48it was just ridiculous what you'd have to wear to cover up and do what
- 26:52it's like. And this is just like a franchise restaurant. I know,
- 26:56why do we care this much? And that in piercing to all of it.
- 27:00Yes, I mean now you don't even honestly, don't even pay attention.
- 27:03Well, this is not gonna help. There's a study that was done
- 27:07on people with tattoo and their association with being arrested or incarcerated. Oh stop
- 27:12it. And it revealed that men with tattoos were found to be two and
- 27:18a half times more likely to be arrested than those without. Oh really,
- 27:22they were two times more likely to be convicted and nearly twice as likely to
- 27:26be incarcerated. Now, women with tattoos two times is likely to be arrested.
- 27:32So it did reveal that for males and females, having a permanent tattoo
- 27:36was associated with an increased risk of being arrested. Well, I don't really
- 27:41have a whole lot of data to help back this up, but they do.
- 27:42I do know that you have a couple of tats or is it just
- 27:47one? But it's visible on my forearm, so you know, I feel
- 27:49like it counts for more. You've got a misdemeanor on your hands. Oh
- 27:53geez, really, I this is anecdotal evidence at best. I have no
- 28:00tattoos and zerocker, no arrest No, it never been busted because I've done
- 28:06and you got picked up one time, but nothing that would. You'll be
- 28:08able to look at the You're never able to see it and it has been
- 28:11dodging convictions for years now. No, I mean, is it Is it
- 28:15one of those things where are you getting arrested because you've got the tattoo?
- 28:21Or do you get the tattoo because you're living a or do you get him
- 28:25a Chivas lifestyle? I hear you get him when you're in prison. Duo.
- 28:27There's that too, don't people. It's like, I don't think you
- 28:32get arrested because you got the tear drop tattoo. I think it's the other
- 28:36way. Like in a minute in the morning on Big Buddy eight points.
- 28:41We had a lot of questions after it. Was it a couple of weeks
- 28:44ago October twenty second that the pilot in Alaska Airlines pilot attempted to shut off
- 28:48the engines on a flight. Yeah, because he was in the cockpit right
- 28:52right. He wasn't the actual pilot, correct, He was a pilot on
- 28:56you know, not on duty, and so we were like, well,
- 28:59what the what was he trying to do? And obviously he's shutting the engines
- 29:02off. Your plan is for the plane to crash, right, Thank god
- 29:04it didn't. He's been detained and arrested. Now, this guy, he's
- 29:07forty four. His name is Joseph Emerson. He's in prison right now,
- 29:11awaiting trial, charged with eighty three counts of attempted murder, obviously one for
- 29:15every person on the front. Yeah, so now he's speaking out. He
- 29:19did an actual interview from jail, you know. So he's answering a lot
- 29:22of the questions. One, what was he doing? Well, he says
- 29:26that he had taken some what he calls magic mushrooms. He was at a
- 29:30weekend getaway in Washington, basically him and his friends. And this is where
- 29:33it gets kind of sad. He was celebrating the five year death of his
- 29:37best friend. Oh, his friend died back in twenty eighteen, and he
- 29:41admitted that since then he's battled with depression. So him and his friends got
- 29:45together to remember their friend, and they said he said they did magic mushrooms
- 29:48along with some other drugs. So wow, because yeah, I remember all
- 29:52the interviews, people were just shocked. I mean, not only just employees
- 29:56that have worked with him for so long, but those closer, the like
- 30:00this is so out of nowhere, Like this isn't He's not a terrorist.
- 30:03There's nothing like that, right. So he said that when he got on
- 30:07that plane, he started to have a panic attack. So he texted his
- 30:10friend who had dropped him off at the airport. He said, I'm having
- 30:12a panic attack, and his friend said, do your breathing exercises, and
- 30:17he said, this is from Joseph Emerson said send love. I need to
- 30:19be home. This is when he said he started to feel like he was
- 30:22dreaming. He thought nothing was real, so imagine the confusion of it.
- 30:26He thought that basically his plan was to shut the engines off, the plane
- 30:30would start heading toward a crash, and he would wake up. So he's
- 30:34hallucinating, basically thinking he's dreaming. So he's doing whatever he can to try
- 30:40to wake up, or at least that's what he's saying now from prison.
- 30:42So that's when he threw off the cockpit head said, yelled to the pilots
- 30:47for help. When nothing happened, he pulled the shut off handles. Oh
- 30:51convinced that he was imagining the whole thing. Okay, do you believe this?
- 30:56You know it seems like the most likely. Now there is somebody who
- 31:00came out who's a psychedelics expert saying that basically, if he had taken,
- 31:03like he said, these mushrooms forty eight hours prior, they would have not
- 31:07been in his system. Okay, so they thinking he maybe took something else
- 31:11or a combination of just sleep, you know, being deprived of sleep yep,
- 31:15being depressed, having a panic attack, and then then throw some drugs.
- 31:18And it's kind of all of it. I mean, I know what
- 31:19it's like to have, like a hangover. I've never done any of like,
- 31:23never ca a mushroom. True, I've never done any of that,
- 31:26but like a hangover, anxiety, anxiety waking up the next thing, and
- 31:30just like, ugh, I don't know what it would be if you were
- 31:33taking other drugs, but my goodness. Well, so then he started screaming
- 31:37that he needed to be coffed. He said he better cuff me. So
- 31:38of course they cuffed him during the in the plane and that's when he sent
- 31:42several texts, including one to his wife that said I've made a big mistake,
- 31:47to say the least. But then Joseph Emerson, he also said that
- 31:49when he was detained in a detention room at the airport. Once they landed
- 31:55in Portland, he stripped naked, urinated on himself, pleasured himself what and
- 32:01then tried to jump out of a window in an attempt to wake up.
- 32:07So he still had to have been something else that he had taken or like
- 32:12a what do they call it a bad trip? I mean, I mean
- 32:15that is going to be a bad trip for the eighty three people on board,
- 32:20but didn't exactly get to their destination. But now he said he wants
- 32:23to be transparent. He said he never intended to hurt anyone. He admitted
- 32:27to struggling with lingering depression in silence, fearing that he could be grounded from
- 32:31flying, basically taking his pilot license away. Okay, you're on the jury.
- 32:36You know all of his backstory. You know that he's never had a
- 32:42track record any of that. I mean, what he did was terrible.
- 32:45But do you are you a little lenient? I mean I feel for the
- 32:47guy because I just feel like, gosh, you just had a real bad
- 32:51night. What we say the least, But it's like what if you know,
- 32:54what if he had succeeded? Yeah, no, that's at the same
- 32:58time, eighty three counts of attempted. Like, we know that's not happening,
- 33:00right, He's not they're not locked. I don't think he's going to
- 33:02prison for the rest of his life. No, I feel like he might
- 33:06lose his job for the rest of his life. Of course, Well that's
- 33:08that. Yes, I'm sorry, my man, you're gonna have to find
- 33:12another occupation if you do, in fact not go to prison. But isn't
- 33:15that enough punishment? Or am I being a softy over here? Well,
- 33:17if you're the family of one of the people on that plane, thinking you
- 33:21could have lost your loved one because of this guy's bad trip. But I
- 33:23also think if even even if I was on that plane, I'd be like,
- 33:27gosh, you got to have a heart for a guy who's just struggling.
- 33:30No, what you do a man? I got the heart right here,
- 33:35baby, You got the saying you know, you don't do the crime.
- 33:38If you can't do the time,
