- 0:07Speaker 1: I like her. Pumpkin Day today. National Chucky Day, as
- 0:13Speaker 1: in the doll from... Chucky? No, it wasn't.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Chucky was the movie.
- 0:17Speaker 1: No, it wasn't. Yes, it was. It was child's play.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but then they came out with all the Chucky.
- 0:21Speaker 1: All right. Agree to disagree. I'm going to look it up.
- 0:24Speaker 2: But the My Buddy doll, that looked like Chucky.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And Greasy Food Day, which is the perfect segue to
- 0:32Speaker 1: birthdays today. Napoleon, give me some of your tots. No,
- 0:36Speaker 1: go find your own. Come on, give me some of
- 0:38Speaker 1: your tots. No, I'm freaking starved. I didn't get to
- 0:40Speaker 1: eat anything today.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Napoleon Dynamite?
- 0:42Speaker 1: Napoleon Dynamite actor John Heder, 49 today. Family Guy creator
- 0:48Speaker 1: Seth MacFarlane, 53. Some fella named Keith Urban. Turns 59 today. Carrie,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I don't know how to say it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Princess Bride.
- 1:00Speaker 1: 64 today. And Pat Sajak, the host of Wheel of

- 1:10Speaker 1: today's special days and birthdays on the Country 92.5 Morning Show.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It is 6.01. It is Monday. And we are all
- 1:17Speaker 1: here together, which is beautiful.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Did you wash my coffee cup?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Okay, so it tastes soapy.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I mean, I didn't wash it. It was
- 1:26Speaker 1: up in the clean cups. So I didn't wash it
- 1:30Speaker 1: or else I would have thoroughly rinsed it out. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I'll make you a new one. Anyway, that's Amanda Jo
- 1:35Speaker 1: who's griping at me. I'm Damon, and she's going to
- 1:37Speaker 1: give the headlines to you.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Soap in my mouth.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Soap in my mouth. Soap in my mouth.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Weather today, mostly sunny with temps near 70.
- 1:46Speaker 2: World Series Game 3 is tonight.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Currently, if you care, the Milwaukee Brewers are up 2-0
- 1:51Speaker 3: in the series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Jets lost
- 1:55Speaker 3: to the Dolphins yesterday, 28-25, and the New York Giants
- 1:58Speaker 3: beat the Texans, 27-21. UConn versus UMass on Friday. Huskies
- 2:04Speaker 3: beat the Minutemen. 35-16. Of course, Dave Portnoy and Barstool
- 2:09Speaker 3: Sports were in town for this match, which means he
- 2:12Speaker 3: hit a lot of pizza joints while he was here.
- 2:14Speaker 3: We should be seeing reviews soon for places like Luna, Sparrow,
- 2:18Speaker 3: Beats Heaven, Naples, and a bunch more.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He hit a lot of pizza while he was in town.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I like Luna. That's in West Hartford. I don't know
- 2:25Speaker 1: if that's the one. I love Sparrow. Where's that?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Sparrow's in West Hartford.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh, it is. It's on the nice street there.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And it's that bar-style pizza, which I didn't know.
- 2:33Speaker 3: It's like a.
- 2:35Speaker 3: South Shore, Boston, South Shore, Massachusetts kind of style is
- 2:38Speaker 3: what they do.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Well, last week was bar, like when you were gone,
- 2:41Speaker 1: it was bar pizza day. I had to look up
- 2:43Speaker 1: that it's a thin crust and it's cut into little
- 2:46Speaker 1: shareable sections.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't share it though.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I eat the whole pie. I've never heard of that. Anyway.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I eat the whole pie. If you ever go to
- 2:51Speaker 3: Sparrow though, get the pork carnitas one.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Okay, you got that guys? Pork carnitas. Quick break for traffic.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Come back with some music. Today's fascinating facts. It is
- 3:02Speaker 1: National Chucky Day. By the way, I looked it up.
- 3:04Speaker 1: We're both right. The first three were Child's Play. And
- 3:08Speaker 1: then the last three had Chucky in the title. So
- 3:11Speaker 1: facts about Chucky coming up. In honor of National Chucky Day,
- 3:16Speaker 1: as in the murderous doll. Fascinating facts about Chucky. I
- 3:21Speaker 1: didn't remember that he had a human name. But it
- 3:23Speaker 1: was Charles Lee Ray that was based on the combined
- 3:26Speaker 1: names of Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald, and James Earl Ray.
- 3:31Speaker 1: All three.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Did not know.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Not good dudes. The original script was called Batteries Not Included.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They didn't like that, so they went with Bloody Buddy
- 3:40Speaker 1: as a dark satire of the My Buddy doll. And
- 3:44Speaker 1: then they switched to Child's Play.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Oh, wait.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So the My Buddy doll came before Chucky?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yes. Whoa. He was the inspiration. But they said, oh,
- 3:52Speaker 1: that might hurt sales. And even though they dropped the
- 3:55Speaker 1: My Buddy title, Bloody Buddy, after the movie came out,
- 3:59Speaker 1: sales dropped 85%. And they discontinued the whole line a
- 4:03Speaker 1: year later.
- 4:04Speaker 2: See, I had no idea. I thought My Buddy came
- 4:07Speaker 2: out after the movie.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh, they wanted to call it Bloody Buddy.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow.
- 4:12Speaker 2: My buddy.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I had to look him up. And while his head
- 4:16Speaker 1: does not look like Chucky, the outfit. Oh, yeah. So anyway.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So there you go. Some fascinating facts about Chucky, the
- 4:23Speaker 1: murderous doll. And up next, it is time for the scoop.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Well, the Red Kettle campaign celebrates 30 years with a
- 4:32Speaker 3: kickoff party that always starts during the Dallas Cowboys game
- 4:36Speaker 3: on Thanksgiving.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Who's going to be performing this year?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Oh, I know this one. And she will share it
- 4:42Speaker 1: with us coming up in about 15 minutes. Again, thank
- 4:46Speaker 1: you for being here. Thanks for starting your Monday. It's
- 4:48Speaker 1: going to be a good one. It's the Country 92.5
- 4:51Speaker 1: morning show. It's Monday, 6.27. That becomes scoop time because
- 4:55Speaker 1: Amanda Jo's going to do a scoop now, sponsored by
- 4:58Speaker 1: Monaco Ford.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Well, every Turkey Day, the Dallas Cowboys play.
- 5:01Speaker 3: And at halftime, they have a country singer kick off
- 5:03Speaker 3: the Red Kettle campaign for the Salvation Army with a
- 5:06Speaker 3: little halftime show. This year, the 30th year they're doing this,
- 5:10Speaker 3: performing will be Miranda Lambert.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Is going to be performing.
- 5:13Speaker 3: The video they put out has Miranda riding into the stadium,
- 5:17Speaker 3: this big massive steer.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It's so cool.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Cowboys will play the Eagles at 4 p.m. on Fox
- 5:24Speaker 3: on Turkey Day. Morgan Wallen is celebrating what I believe
- 5:27Speaker 3: is now his 24th No.
- 5:28Speaker 2: 1 on country radio, Bend By Now.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Wow!
- 5:31Speaker 2: What he said this song is about.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I think it's just a song where you're looking at
- 5:37Speaker 4: your partner for a while, and you just don't really
- 5:41Speaker 4: see it progressing any further, and you just start noticing things.
- 5:45Speaker 4: You know, that.
- 5:47Speaker 1: That lets you know that. I had to ask her,
- 5:49Speaker 1: what's for the while?
- 5:51Speaker 2: He was just saying for a while.
- 5:53Speaker 1: For a while. Yeah. For of a while. For of
- 5:55Speaker 1: a while. Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I also like to think that the song is a
- 5:58Speaker 3: friendly reminder, don't recycle your exes.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Because if it was meant to be, it would have
- 6:02Speaker 2: been by now. Oh.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Look what she did there. Wasn't that clever? Yeah. Coming
- 6:08Speaker 1: up next, feel good story today. What would you do
- 6:11Speaker 1: if you won Homecoming King? Yeah. I'll tell you what
- 6:15Speaker 1: a kid in Pennsylvania did. It was super touching and awesome.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It's Amanda Jo. My name's Damon. I always forget to mention,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I saw a lot of people this weekend, a lot
- 6:23Speaker 1: of nice compliments, and we appreciate that. We love that
- 6:26Speaker 1: you start your day with us. So let me give
- 6:29Speaker 1: you today's feel-good story. This high school senior in Pennsylvania,
- 6:33Speaker 1: his name is Kenny Ramirez. He won homecoming queen. He
- 6:39Speaker 1: might have. Homecoming king at Mahoney Area High School. And
- 6:43Speaker 1: he knew immediately what he wanted to do. Since sixth grade,
- 6:46Speaker 1: one of his best friends has been Ashton Kula, who
- 6:49Speaker 1: has Down syndrome. Kenny knew that Ashton has always dreamed
- 6:54Speaker 1: of being homecoming king. So without hesitation, Kenny walks over
- 6:58Speaker 1: to Ashton and puts the sash over his shoulder and
- 7:01Speaker 1: the crown on his head. He said, this is the
- 7:04Speaker 1: real homecoming king. That kid walked across the stage, his
- 7:07Speaker 1: arms held up high. The place went nuts. It's a
- 7:10Speaker 1: smile that will not soon go away. In fact, his
- 7:12Speaker 1: mom said, Her son will be talking about that night forever.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Just thought it was really nice. The video's cool, too.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So there's today's feel-good story for you. Wheeler Walker Jr.
- 7:23Speaker 1: 's farewell tour. Did you know that? It's his feast
- 7:26Speaker 1: going away. Very interesting comedian. Not appropriate for children. Yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 1: this is 18 and up. Winners, please. November 5th at
- 7:35Speaker 1: Toad's Place. Here's the question. According to the National Retailers Association,
- 7:40Speaker 1: the most popular adult costume for Halloween is what? What
- 7:46Speaker 1: is it? 860-249-9250. You want to go see Wheeler? We'd
- 7:51Speaker 1: love to send you. Call us. Country 92.5. Who's this?
- 7:54Speaker 1: This is Bryce, big dog. Well, all right, Bryce, big dog.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Let's see if we can't get you into Wheeler Walker Jr.
- 8:02Speaker 1: at Toad's Place. According to the National Retailers Association, what's
- 8:06Speaker 1: the most popular adult costume for Halloween? I'm going to
- 8:11Speaker 1: have to go with Playboy Bunny. Oh, what? What? Most
- 8:17Speaker 1: popular of all time? Easy, buddy. That's... Yeah. Just to clarify,
- 8:23Speaker 1: is not what you wish was the most popular doll costume,
- 8:26Speaker 1: Bryce Big Dog. Don't worry, though. You can always call
- 8:29Speaker 1: us back with this clue from Amanda Jo. Sisters, we fly.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Happy Monday, happy Monday. Who's this? Allison. Allison, we would
- 8:41Speaker 1: like to send you to see Wheeler Walker Jr. 's
- 8:44Speaker 1: farewell tour at Toad's Place. It's up to you. According
- 8:47Speaker 1: to the National Retailers Association, Allison, what is the most
- 8:50Speaker 1: popular adult costume for Halloween? Bryce, a.k.a. Big Dog, got
- 8:56Speaker 1: through first. He guessed... I'm going to have to go
- 8:59Speaker 1: with Playboy Bunny. That was way off, so Amanda Jo
- 9:04Speaker 1: gave you this clue. Sisters, we fly. What's she talking about?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Is it a witch? Let's talk weekends. You first, ladies first.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Well, Saturday I had a lovely day in Simsbury. It
- 9:21Speaker 3: started with an early morning workout. Then I went to
- 9:24Speaker 3: the spooktacular at the Meadows. Hit up the Maple Tree Cafe,
- 9:30Speaker 3: made some new friends at the bar. Shout out to
- 9:32Speaker 3: Richie and his crew.
- 9:33Speaker 1: The supposedly haunted.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard that one is supposedly haunted.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I did try to ask the bartenders the first time
- 9:41Speaker 3: I went there about.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Anything going on? And they didn't really say too much.
- 9:46Speaker 1: The haunting continued for you.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yes. And then we took a walking downtown tour of
- 9:52Speaker 3: Legends of New England. So the Bell and Raven in
- 9:55Speaker 3: Simsbury put it on and we walked around in the
- 9:58Speaker 3: dark with lights. and she told ghost stories, which was
- 10:01Speaker 3: pretty cool. And then my friends and I, it's not
- 10:04Speaker 3: really breaking in. They have that whole downtown historical area
- 10:08Speaker 3: in Simsbury with like the old house.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Oh, the wigwam? Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 2: It's not technically called a wigwam. I forget what it was.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It's a meeting house, I believe.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Well, we wanted to go in it.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So when the tour wrapped, we went back and I mean,
- 10:21Speaker 3: it had little twinkle lights on the inside. Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And then I put my friend in the stocks. It
- 10:26Speaker 2: was great.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I saw your friend in the stocks. Yeah, that's on
- 10:30Speaker 3: my Insta. But yeah, I had a delightful day in
- 10:32Speaker 3: Simsbury on Saturday. What about you guys went to Rosedale,
- 10:35Speaker 3: didn't you?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Well, let's start Friday night Wolfpack game. They beat the
- 10:38Speaker 1: Bruins two to zip. That was fun. And then Saturday
- 10:41Speaker 1: we start out in the morning at the Harvest Fest
- 10:43Speaker 1: in the Farmer's Cow in Berlin. It was honestly, it
- 10:45Speaker 1: was fantastic. Not just because of nice vendors and the
- 10:48Speaker 1: car show, which it was. Food was absolutely fantastic, and
- 10:52Speaker 1: both the kids went. Normally, Tucker only goes with me,
- 10:55Speaker 1: so Tessa went, and we just had a grand time,
- 10:59Speaker 1: which continued at Rosedale Farms in Simsbury. We did the
- 11:02Speaker 1: corn maze. Did you find your way out? Yeah. Challenging,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and I got to admit, my daughter is, she's like
- 11:07Speaker 1: a guide dog. No offense to the doggy thing part,
- 11:10Speaker 1: but she got us in and out super good.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I had to- break through the side of the maze
- 11:15Speaker 2: when I went there.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I saw an exit in the side of it. Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And we purchased the wine that you recommended on Friday. Yes,
- 11:23Speaker 1: the cherry. Yeah. It hasn't been tried yet, so we'll
- 11:25Speaker 1: have to get back to you with a review. And
- 11:27Speaker 1: then yesterday I was so buoyed by the fact that
- 11:30Speaker 1: the kids were getting along, we went fishing. Oh. I
- 11:33Speaker 1: caught a bunch of fish, and Tess always gets a turtle,
- 11:35Speaker 1: which she named Gus, and we all released them at
- 11:38Speaker 1: the end. So it was really nice. Great weather today.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And just family fun.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It was a perfect weekend. Perfect weekend for outdoor things.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Hope you had a great weekend as well. And thank
- 11:49Speaker 1: you again for starting your Monday here on the Country 92.5
- 11:52Speaker 1: Morning Show. Let's go. Joke time. What are we doing
- 11:56Speaker 1: this week? Halloween jokes. Well, then we got to get
- 12:00Speaker 1: a treat to give away. So let's find Tessa Grace,
- 12:03Speaker 1: find out her prize. What are we giving away this week,
- 12:06Speaker 1: Tessa Grace? Four tickets to Connecticut Fall Home Show. Nice.
- 12:11Speaker 1: This Saturday and Sunday in the Connecticut Convention Center. Free
- 12:15Speaker 1: if you can figure this joke out. How can you
- 12:18Speaker 1: tell when a vampire's sick? One more time. How can
- 12:23Speaker 1: you tell when a vampire's sick? All right, figure that
- 12:26Speaker 1: one out. Home show on us. I will tell you,
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't think you'll get today's, but the rest of
- 12:32Speaker 1: the week is going to be easy peasy. I don't
- 12:34Speaker 1: know why I started with this one, but it's out
- 12:36Speaker 1: there now.
- 12:37Speaker 2: You can't take their temperature because they're cold.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I don't know if they're sick. They're pale.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Nope, nope. You're going down the wrong roads, lady.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Bangs, blood.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You want a clue? Yes. What do they sleep in? See,
- 12:50Speaker 1: that's the key word. There's several different punchlines I will accept,
- 12:53Speaker 1: but all of them have to have whatever it is
- 12:55Speaker 1: she just said in them. So, 860-249-9250. Call us.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Punchline.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Home show. They can't sleep. I would take that. Okay.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Now quit giving them because I have to beat them
- 13:07Speaker 1: every time. Cunt! 392.5. Who the heck's this? This is Mike. Mike,
- 13:12Speaker 1: a chance to go to the home show this weekend
- 13:15Speaker 1: with four freebie tickets. If you can give me the
- 13:18Speaker 1: punchline that Amanda Jo sort of figured out. How can
- 13:21Speaker 1: you tell when a vampire's sick? There are several different
- 13:25Speaker 1: punchlines I will take, Mike. I would say if he's coughing.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Tessa Grace, Halloween joke one, how can you tell when
- 13:33Speaker 1: a vampire is sick? He's always coughing.
