- 0:00So the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,
- 0:03commonly known as DEWA, continues to cultivate
- 0:06this amazing culture of sustainability among
- 0:09its employees. It's really impressive. They're
- 0:12heavily encouraging their staff to adopt, well,
- 0:15environmentally responsible practices. And, you
- 0:18know, this applies both inside and outside the
- 0:21workplace. Get this. During just the first half
- 0:25of 2026, Diwa employees recycled 118 ,967 plastic
- 0:32bottles and aluminum cans. They did all this
- 0:34through these really cool smart recycling machines.
- 0:37They're basically installed across several Diwa
- 0:40buildings. Plus, these machines are fully integrated
- 0:43with Diwa's smart office app. They actually enable
- 0:46employees to earn points for each item recycled.
- 0:49It even gives them a chance to win valuable prizes.
- 0:53Yeah, they do these monthly raffle draws, which
- 0:55is a great incentive. Since the whole initiative
- 0:58was launched back in October 2022, employees
- 1:02have recycled more than 1 .41 million items.
- 1:06Yeah, just bottles and cans. That diverted over
- 1:0919 .83 tons of waste from landfill by mid -2026.
- 1:13The initiative totally supports the Dubai Integrated
- 1:17Waste Management Strategy, and it aligns perfectly
- 1:19with the Circular Economy Strategy, too. In fact,
- 1:23Diwa achieved a massive 92 .33 % score in the
- 1:27Sustainability Culture Index in 2025. So, now,
- 1:31here's a question I'd really like you to think
- 1:33about today. How can other organizations leverage
- 1:36smart technology and employee engagement, you
- 1:40know, to build a similar, highly effective culture
- 1:42of sustainability in their own workplaces?
