- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to the show, Sherry.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, great to be here.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: We like to chat a lot offline, so now we have to switch it up.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, you know what?
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: I want to just jump right into.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've got a bunch of different things that we're going to talk about.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are going to be kind of fun, but mostly it's just going to be what's going on politically.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to start this off and I want to get your opinion and I have some reasons that are going to back this up, but I don't feel worried about democracy anymore.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: And when I say that I'm not coming from a place of privilege, I'm not coming from a place of not understanding all of the damage that is being done at the moment and that's already happened.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: But what I see is he's losing in every way.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: I see courts voting against him.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: I see, oh my god, this 250th version with nobody there.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's clearly got dementia and he's falling asleep.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's pissing off, right wingers.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: There's all kinds of indicators pointing to his approval, rating is so low.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: I know we still have years to go under this ridiculous regime, but they have fucked up massively, and the American public and the entire world can see it.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: And while he's going to retain some of those
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think in the bigger picture America is rejecting everything that's happening and so while there is a few years of pain left and then of course once we can get out of this there will be still growth before everything feels better but I'm wondering do you feel this way or you know what's your take on this?
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I agree and appreciate the optimism and the hope this out there, but I think what we saw, Kimberly, with what MPR did with the so-called Alito resignation, I think there's a lot more behind that, and that does scare me.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we still may have a huge uphill climb here.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: I see.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: I believe we have an uphill climb, a hundred percent.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe we may have some surprises.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: Look, Trump, you know, getting rid of the funding for NPR.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't like them.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: If there was a true Alito resignation coming, and they were giving it as an exclusive it would have gone to Fox or one right thing, you know, in these places.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: this could be a number of things.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: It could have been a lot of people I see saying, okay, it sounds like an embargo going bad.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was an announcement that was supposed to be done on Friday.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so what you do is you would send a press release out that's embargo for people that don't know.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been a
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: press secret hearing communications director you have it you give the information to reporters in advance you say you cannot use this until this particular time and date but you do that so they can prepare so that editors and producers can get their team together can get the background story but I don't think that happened here and I just had a discussion with somebody else on another venue I don't think it happened here because you would not put an embargo out
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: five days, you know, four days in advance.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Not for information that is this big and I certainly would never do it in this climate with journalism because journalism You know, there's a lot of people up there who, you know, have their press passes, but they're not real journalists.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's all gone haywire.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Journalism in America as we've known it is dead and we have to say that.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I do not think that this was a mistake on an embargo.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I do not think that this was an exclusive.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's possible.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was a false flag to make MPR look bad, but to put it out there to help push Alito out.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Remember during do that with Ruth Bader Ginsburg, they wanted her to go because they were afraid that, you know, the next president would, you know, they, well, well, that exactly would happen.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: What happened?
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: And this could be to push Alito out because they want, they want it.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I think there's something weird about Claire's Thomas being up on Capitol Hill, not
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: We know that they want to have a different birthright citizenship vote and that was close.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: That was too close for comfort to just say, yeah, we're going to keep our constitution and a five for both.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that we could be up against something that really hurts our democracy more that people want to realize and that is if if.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Trump gets to appoint another Supreme Court justice.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, okay, we're just going to be looking at that.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so while things are looking good, we're having these victories.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the big fascist state fair thing up in America's state fair on the mall here in DC where I am that is a joke.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think what happened with the reflecting pool again, I don't know how much of those types of things matter.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're indicative of the larger pool.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: problem.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's indicative right.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but, but this and of course Trump gets kickbacks for all the stuff we know that, but I think that the thing to focus on is what is going on with the Supreme Court, because I will feel better about democracies surviving, if we can survive that particular situation.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have to wonder what would Susan Collins do it.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: This would she do like she do with Cabin on.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Of course she would.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Right, or was she saved herself because of the tight race that she's in, and Maine, you know, this happens before the elections.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, there's all these different questions.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: Leonard Leo owns her lock stock and barrel.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he owns her.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: He bought her her cabin all vote.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, she's not this independent voice, you know, of Maine.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: She is owned by these people.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, we still have some really, really tough hurdles ahead of us.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I feel good about what's
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't put blinders on to say, I think democracy is going to survive because it's not being pessimistic.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that we don't know yet.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Does that make sense?
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it does make sense.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Although I don't think I have blinders on, per se.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like, I mean, I look at what happened in Hungary.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: And even though Donald Trump has only been, I mean, his total presidency hasn't even reached what six years yet from the first term to this one,
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: he's been in the picture for like 15 years.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, or it hasn't been, or it has been 10 years.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: No, like 11 years, like 11 years.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, and I think Hungary was under fascist rule for like 15 years and everybody said fuck this shit and they voted him out.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, and this was against a rigged election.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, with everything that you're saying, 100% like I'm not denying that there is all kinds of wretched things that were up hill battles,
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: really devastating things can happen because and the reason why specifically is because I think they do recognize that they don't have the power that they'd like to have.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean they they have all the actual power but what I'm talking about is you know when it comes to the elections, when it comes to the people, people aren't going along with it, they're getting resistance and I think that even if they were to replace
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: a Supreme Court justice, I think the Democrats, which I do want to discuss something Bob said to me last night, but I think that, you know, among the Democratic, you know, candidate community, we're hearing more chatter of expanding the court.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, one of the things Bob said is, you know, he's concerned, he doesn't want Democrats right now to be screaming about expanding the court because he doesn't want Donald Trump
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: you know, before we can do it.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a, you know, an interesting point, but that's a very good point.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I also think at the same time, liberals have been screaming about expanding the courts for so long.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the only way it's going to get done is when democratic leaders feel like, okay, we have to.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: There's pressure from the public.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: This is, you know, we're seeing with our own eyes.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, I think this story is not over.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think this Supreme Court is
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's weaponized, it's already weaponized, right now it's working against the American people.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever changes and whatever happens, there is still a pop because, like, let's just say, he does get, you know, put in someone new.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the Democrats could get in power and they could chain, not only could they expand the court, they might change how the court runs.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: They, you know, I don't know if people would get grandfathered in or if they, you know, maybe they'll make a law that says if you've been there for 18 years and that 18 years is up, it's time for you to go whatever.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what anybody, you know, is going to do none of us do, but I think that what we're seeing is like, people get, and I've said this for years and years and years, you know, when people are comfortable, they don't do anything.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this country, this country is not comfortable.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, you've got the gas prices, you've got food prices, aside from the racism and aside from anti-trans, aside from all of the horribleness that liberals are upset about.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: You've got the things that just human beings take off R and D that were all upset about, whether it's like I was saying high gas prices or whatever.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: So people are pissed off that whole Iran war.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's so much, and I just think that no matter what they do,
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Because they're going to do everything they can, this is their last huge grab at least I think they genuinely do believe this so it will get worse and it will get ugly and it will be chaos, but I still think I just think that we're not going to accept it and whatever goes down.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: we're going to repair later.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, that's up to us to do it.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: But then I also just want to say that when it comes to things like the fair, the reflecting poll, Donald Trump's name on buildings, I would much prefer to see shit like that going on than things that are actually hurting people.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously things are happening that are hurting people.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I should say more things.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: So the more we focus on the fucking pool and the more he focuses on the pool and his name and all of this superficial stuff, the better for the country because then people aren't, there are more people aren't getting hurt.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think that I do think so that we are, um,
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: basically telling him no and then I wanted to ask you because I think one of the other indicators here is Tala Rico and you know I know that there are a lot of people that are hopeful that he's going to win and I think that he absolutely has an opportunity for that.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is Texas so I'm not going to hold my breath but I think it's possible but I just think what you know right wingers are terrified of him and I know it because if I post about him on my Facebook page
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: I really didn't get very many trolls.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: My first page did that got shut down.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: But this one that I created, I think, in like 2021, you know, I mean, I've got 5,000 friends and all that, but it's not the engagement that I had on my old page, and I got trolled a lot.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now if I post Tala Rico, oh my god, the trolling is off the charts.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just like, what do you think of Tala Rico?
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: things great but we're talking about Texas right and everything they can't stop and I think that but just the fact that he's gotten this far interesting like that it's why you're seeing all those trolls and it's an orchestrated probably fake attempt you don't have all these people that are also concerned and all of a sudden they're glomming onto your face right they're looking for you're doing this on purpose but we've got like six of these
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're going to, and it's still not pill climb for Democrats, is everything kind of has to go perfectly, and Texas, you know, you just never know what kind of crap they're going to pull.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing that, that steer scares me about Texas, you know, Maine, you know, grandmaster is a, is a flawed candidate, but he has to make sure that Susan Collins is tied at the hip with Trump.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why, you know, that might be a calculus that that Republicans are going to have if they want to have a, if they want to add in get a lead out and put in another Trump person because Susan Collins would probably have to vote against it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: If she wants to maintain her fake images is being independent, you know, the capital thing just about killed her.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got that, Iowa is looking good, North Carolina.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, so we have some really good news, but it has to go the right way.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I haven't sat down and worked it out, like pretending I'm on the other side, what would my strategy be as a political strategist.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: But if I'm looking at,
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: at, you know, Trump adding another MAGA Supreme Court justice, you know, Democrats will and should do 13, when they better power for the 13 federal course of appeals or circuit courts, you want to make it even, because it, I mean, things get bottlenecked in everything because it's not even and use as excuse, not just we have to undo what Trump did.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: you do it because that's how things should be and then population grows and changes.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: But also look at the Republicans in the Senate.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: They may be, you know, maybe that's why Clarence Thomas was up on the Hill, although I think he was going to the House side.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they're talking to people looking at how this would work.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Do we lose the Senate?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: if we do this because if Susan Collins saves her seat by voting against a mega Supreme Court justice to make up for what she did by giving us Kavanaugh, you know, how does that change things?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's what the strategists behind the scenes are are discussing at this point.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really they're they're looking at can we do this do it's math.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're looking at
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: which is why they're going to pull out all the stops to cheat and do everything they can to stop him.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, Trump is going to do this everywhere.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to do this everywhere he can.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: And he has succeeded in the past, even though he makes a fool of himself.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: He wears diapers.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's got this failed fare on the mall on the national mall in DC, but that stuff doesn't.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: matter.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: The stuff that does matter is where he's been successful.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't quite be attention that it should.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if that answers a question.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah, it does.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think, you know, I mean, this whole thing with a Supreme Court is just a wait and see what's going to happen because none of us know or just we're just all just watching this.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I hadn't thought about the Susan Collins vote and all of that, but you're absolutely right, obviously.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah, I mean, I guess we'll see.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so no, I want to switch this over and it's a subject that I enjoy talking about, but I have a slightly different take on it as far as Trump's health.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: But, and I talked about this with Sarah Burris last week that, you know, we all know that drug that Eli Lilly and the FDA, the compassionate, whatever.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: compassion at law or whatever it's called clause that allows somebody who is in grave danger I get like life threatening illness and the thing about this though I want to specifically I don't remember the name of the drug it starts with an eye and it's a R and it's an obesity drug but I was listening to somebody talk about it on YouTube and she was saying that
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: The only way that the FDA would approve something like this is if there is no other drug that could do the same job or you know do a good job.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: So this isn't obesity drug however I think it's more potent or whatever than something like OZEMPIC and I was watching the epistemic crisis doctor talk about the fact that this particular drug is is really helpful
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you have congestive heart failure, it helps your heart by like 30%.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he just went off on this list of all these ways that this drug is very beneficial for somebody like Trump.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: However, it is not helping his dementia.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: It does not keep him awake during the day because he is not downing, his circadian rhythm is all fucked up because he's got dementia.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so here's what,
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: here's what i want to ask you because i was thinking about this and i was wondering you know because like at the world is all waiting for him to die and we're also waiting to see what's going on with bitch macano which we'll get into a minute but uh as far as trumpets concerned it's almost become like a joke there's memes about it i talk about it all the time epistemic crisis doctor has a million followers because he talks about it
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought there is a benefit though of Trump staying alive, even though he's incredibly horrible in dangerous because if he dies, it'll likely get, it's likely going to be JD events and he's also incredibly dangerous, but the press is going to treat him like he's a normal.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm wondering, do you think that, do you think it's better if Trump were out of the picture and we moved on?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you think that his terrible behavior that's literally pissing off the world and pissing off all the maga voters is going to benefit democracy because he's just too awful?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I have never thought of that question.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I've just been too excited at the near thought of him.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, now that you brought it up, maybe we do need him to be propped up like weekend at Bernie's for a little longer.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: It actually might be helping us in a long run.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Although JD Vance is is pretty bad.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like the more you see him and hear him talk, everything.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: The worse he is, I think the answer, it would be, it depends
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: how the media would treat JD ban.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: The me, I, I predict right now they would act like he was yes, that, oh, we're finally back to normal.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they'll tell us.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: Annabash was sitting down and act like he's, you know, a normal guy.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that 100%.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, look how they treated Biden, look how they treat Trump, and their fascist friendly, that's what's going to happen.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: And even with MS now, you know, I mean, you've got people, I don't think like Lawrence or Donald is ever going to be easy on JD bands or anything like that.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: There's always going to be a few people who are going to stand up, but because the oligarchs own our corporate media,
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: the the the the whole picture is going to be painted like okay all the chaos is done there's no more chaos trump's gone and we've got this normal guy in here now and they're going to treat him like a normal guy and he's I don't know what he's going to do because he's really bad at this he's one of those people he sticks his finger to fucking mouth and he holds it up and sees which way the wind is blowing and that's where he's going to go because he said trump was Hitler and he had 35 different names you know growing up until he finally landed on it and it hasn't heard him it hasn't heard him that but
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it hasn't heard him, although it kind of has in that he's not, you know, he did make it up to Vice President, but he didn't make it up to Vice President because he's super popular.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: He made it because he did have an established name and, you know, the oligarchs love him.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: And he will facilitate their plan and they know that.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: So like from the way I look at it is as much as I want Trump to die, I think, and since nobody has any, you know, nobody can control that.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: We can't will him to die.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so otherwise he would be dead now, because a lot of people are million times over it.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, you know, there's nothing I can do about it.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: So what I try to do is think, what could be the good?
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: What could be the positive in this?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think that the worse he is, the better it is for us in the long run, because he is loud.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's the whole problem in the first place, because these oligarchs and Donald Trump and all of them,
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: They came in saying, we've got to ram this down people's throats instead of boiling the frog.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: If they would have boiled the frog and slowly unfolded their plan, I think they would have been able to get away with it with the American people more.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: Not when grocery prices are going up, not when gasses, but it's like there was no reason to start this fucking war in Iran.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: There was all these things that were done that were just, it's so fucked up and everybody's so angry.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, you know what I mean?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think JD will be normalized, but I don't think he'll be normalized to the point where people who are upset about gas prices and people who are upset about, you know, the farmers and all that, I don't think he's gonna please any of those people.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: And as long as we still have ice roaming our streets,
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: People don't like that shit.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want the data centers.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's another thing.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: The data centers are becoming a big fucking talking point.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: And people are rising up against those.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, I do.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think as much as I hate to see this, I feel like Donald's being a little bit of a, he's like benefiting us a little bit right now, even though it's awful.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I'm actually thinking about this because I think you made a good point and I had thought of that before.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't normalized him as much as we've gotten used to him.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that since- I agree with you, yeah.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's hard to imagine.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, we've also said in the past that it's hard to imagine how this mega-cult worship transfers to another person.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: But if JD am thinking out loud here, I'm just thinking, I'm like, okay, if JD dance, okay, if he becomes president because Trump croaks,
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: And he doesn't, can you ask to worry about reelection or election like, but so how does he, how does he govern until he runs for re-election on the polls, but Marco Rubio and DeSantis want to do and other Republicans are, you know, because, you know, Rubio is not popular, so they'd have the long knives out for him, that could be something that benefits us.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Is it better that he's more maga or do we benefit by pulling away from maga then they're going to start shooting at each other yes more maga who's less maga so that's that's that's one good thing and that and because look Republicans who used to identify the percentage of Republicans that used to identify as maga has shrunk yeah people who are still Republicans but they don't call themselves maga
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, I'd have to look at those numbers and believe me, there'd be a lot of polling and serving going on to see has Maga died a bit since Trump is Maga something this workshop that can transfer to another person and are the people that are still melding it, you know, like a Lindsey Graham because he has to or the
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: which finally dies and all those flying monkeys of hers that were doing her bidding opposite and they start cheering you know the which exactly so i'm raising some questions here i don't have answers for so a lot of it is would depend on that i'm thinking okay i'm pretending i'm i'm strategist for one of these republicans that wants to be president first thing i'm going to do is find out
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: is maga dead without Trump.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: And if it is, what is the how many Republicans really would like to kind of move away from?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Some will want to embrace it if they think it's still strong and they can grow it.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if maga is something you can't grow.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: And it's something that belongs just to Trump.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: Then you don't really have that much of a future if you're running on that.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: And let's stand a bash in the press.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Start helping you.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I don't know.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: A lot to think about there.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, because there's going to be, you know, the day he dies, no matter what that is from.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I can no longer fit into the dress that that I had back when we thought he was going to be a peach, you know, a million years ago, I had a whole different outfit.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: And now I can figure it out.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I just, I was going to set the style, I think there's also the X factor, right, the thing that we're not going to be able to predict, because I mean there's a lot of stuff that we're going to be able to predict, right, he dies.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to happen.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to happen.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: But there's going to be something that we just don't know.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's that X-factor and we'll find out when it happens.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't even know what that is.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it is public sentiment.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is, but it's just something.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I had...
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love this woman.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: She goes by knitting, colt lady, on Twitter.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: I always say that on YouTube.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_00]: And she was raised in a cult in a sex cult.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: And she's really fucking smart.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: She was in the military.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: And she's really smart.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: And she knows about cults.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I had seen a video and asked her on my show.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: But her video was like, what happens when the cult leader dies?
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: And ultimately, she said,
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: basically the cult disperses and finds other cults.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be interesting, you know, what's going to when when he dies because I mean, I don't think it's solely Trump, you know, I think that there is a
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: mega ideology without Trump, but does it, is there enough people there like you are saying to keep going?
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: I doubt it because I think a lot of these people are conspiracy theorists anyway and cultists anyway, so they're going to find other cults to latch on to and one of the things about cults.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: is, and I want, this is going to lead me into my next thing, um, there's community there.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: People find community and that's why it's so difficult for them to leave because all their friends, all their all their family, it's all connected to this cult and so this is what I was going to say there's there's this couple that I watch on YouTube and I know I'm positive.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: their Trump supporters.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: And they never talk about politics.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're just a lifestyle blog and that's their life and they cook food and chop and blah blah blah.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: And this is going to sound really fucking condescending of me.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: But because they are so different than I am.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you know, there is a documentary right now on Netflix.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's called The Gorillas.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I feel like when I'm watching them.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm watching a documentary of a alien species to me.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's like, I don't understand these people, but I'm kind of fascinated by them.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: What's happening right now is the wife.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: She is going through some health issues and she's got her skin is breaking out and it's just a fucking mess.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel bad for her because I can't even imagine, you know, she's got this YouTube channel and she's got a lot of people on it and
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: She's showing up on camera and her face is unbelievable.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just, it's broken out so terribly.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's bleeding.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's awful.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: And, and it's amazing because she is just not allowing it to get in her way.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: But the whole point of this is she was at her family's house for like fathers day.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then we're just having a regular father's day family get together.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: And so she's shooting everything and they've got the food and, you know, the relatives and you're hearing the little chit chat conversations.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I was thinking, oh my god, you know, I mean, this is exactly the same thing as when my dad has a get together.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: And when Bob's mom has a get together, but they hate us.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: They look at us and they think we're the enemy.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: And we look at them and we think they're the enemy.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: And there's we're really not that different.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing that's different is they've been radicalized and this is not new information.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like they've been radicalized by Rush Limbaugh.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: They've been radicalized by Phos.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: My aunt was specifically radicalized by Rush Limbaugh, specifically him.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: And there was that whole movie, the brainwashing of my dad was about how this liberal man was sitting in a car every single day with Russian as a year and telling him the reason your life is so fucked up is because of liberals.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: And so they have been these victims of this fucking Fox news and right-wing machine bullshit disinformation lies.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: This country would look so different because maybe we would all have different ideas about how things should be run But this hate is manufactured and it's like it just it it's not new I'm not realizing anything new but it really really hit me and I because it was like it just made me feel so sad I felt sad for this woman that I don't know because she's going to this health crisis and I felt I felt like
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I wish I could talk to her and tell her, hey, I've had acne, and you're going to get through this, and but she's a fucking maga, and she thinks I'm a horrible person.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's, that's a thing.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a place for these people to go, you said, the cults they all disperse, I guess, into into smaller.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they're cold.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I just went off on a tangent.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: But no, but I've just said that you're rigid, but so if Trump dies, does he become a hero, a martyr?
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: It was Christ like figure.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: Or if he just
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, goes out of office and J.D.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: Vance has to run and then, you know, the different candidates will decide do they run from Trump for them to their run towards him to try and take take his cult.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to come down on the side of we can't have him die now because he becomes a godlike figure and they're all going to try and take and get and get his cult.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think we have to make sure that the cult dies.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not with him.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think we have to term it that cult dies with with his presidency.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then people like this couple of everything.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're still, you know, they're still going to be who they're going.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're still going to hate me.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you could say Rush Limbaugh did that to them.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: I knew Rush a little bit.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: We were actually friendly.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think and I don't even think Rush believed half of what he said.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was just a job to him.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: He get it off
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: He did and he had and Democrats never were able to or didn't try that hard.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they made one attempt, but they didn't really capture, you know, A&M radio and appreciate that people listen to this in their cars and the fly over country where they're driving a lot.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, very few people, you know, when you look at it, actually have paid subscription radio and they're still not doing that because Democratic consultants don't make money on radio, so they
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: political consultants don't make money or radio, so it doesn't go into the plan, which is just nutty, and it's a way to get the fly over country in those red states, but you know, I'm addressing a little bit here, but these people, if this is who they are, Kimberly, and think about pre-trop.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is who they were.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I agree 100%.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: And we didn't notice it, but now we have a place for them to go where they can say, hey, look at me.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm over here.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm a part of this group.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't some change.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Some became worse than they were, but there had to be something there already.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: where they have a hundred percent.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's why people who are really into their churches are ones that are more susceptible to this.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Not as bad, not that Jesus is bad, not that Christianity is bad, but churches are not necessarily.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Your organized religion is not necessarily.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: all that biblical or or what Christ taught.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're it's got bastardized a whole lot over 2,000 years.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: So the people, they want the answers to be simple.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: If I say these words in the our father and I do it three times after I go to confession, then my sins are cleansed.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: think about.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: Then I am forgiven for what I did.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to think about the person I harmed and what they have to live with for the rest of their life that I did to them.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: I can completely forget about it because I said these words.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: To me, that's, I was race Catholic.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: I used to go to confession before, before turning 18 when I was allowed to make the decisions on my own to not.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I always thought, it's just so stupid.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, say three hell Mary's in our father.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: And on the marble shit, you just did, you know, the way.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so easy.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Then I'll go do more bad shit.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: You're and tell the tell the priest about it.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'll say, you know, three more hell Mary's in our father.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a great deal.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, I think that, you know, like what the mag I call wanted, they wanted to know that, you know, that somebody out there listened to them and understands them.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: And as somebody that's not like them, I'm thinking of the sort of the toothless red hat wearing ones that get their rent money for their trailer to buy the gold speakers.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: They want somebody to tell them that they're okay, that even though they've been left behind or something somebody else is telling them you're not in this alone and we're going to fix it.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: And they got taken for a ride, of course, but it's that sense of belonging.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it is.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I look at my aunt and I feel like, you know, my mom and I will talk about her and say, you know, if she saw this piece of information, what would she say about it?
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, is we know what she would say because when, when they have man on the street interviewing Maga, like there was this one guy who said, hey,
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: uh you know what did you think when Joe Biden did this thing and they would have their opinion and then he would like like like this thing and they go oh my god it's so awful and then he go away to minute it was it was Donald Trump that did that and immediately
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: it was like everything changed.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's okay now.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was okay for them when don't want to have their kind of Biden versus, you know, the Trump kids.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: The painting, these guys.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like they just, it's like they don't care.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I think I think what will happen though when he does die, we're going to
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: you're right that there's going to be a lot of polling.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think that it's kind of going to die off because he is the one that has the charisma.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: No one in the in the Republican party right now has the charisma Donald Trump does and Donald still has the charisma with a good portion of his base.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't lost all of them.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Republican party I don't think likes him, they're just fear him for whatever, you know, all these different reasons, whether it's threats or they're afraid, they're afraid for some reason or another, that he's going to somehow harm their careers, harm their families, whatever.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: But so I don't think that they're excited about him.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think they don't like him.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: But they have to go along with him.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: But when you go with it, it was like 30% was his base.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I would assume that at this point it's under 30.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he necessarily has 30% of the American people.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that we also have to consider all the independence in there.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, a lot of these people were, a lot of these people were new voters can really undertrump a lot of the maga.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: They're not sophisticated voters.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: They've never voted before.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: They've never been activists before.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how it became more like a cult, you know, they're a tribe for them.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so will they sort of drift off and lose interest in politics when, when Trump is out.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: So that's
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's, that's a lot of it too, how many people if he's already down to 28% how many of them just lose interest and you see that in in special elections and maybe the midterms they aren't they don't know that there's an election they don't know it in midterms they don't they they just don't and they're not going to show up and love you to say, well, Trump are on the ballot they show up well.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: for people that do vote, Trump kind of is on the ballot and talking, I'm talking about the subset of people that now defines the MAGA cult.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: And even if they go off and they, they were not going to be as passionate about J.A.C.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F.A.F
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: which could get to the point, I think when Trump is out of the picture, where there will be somebody who smells blood in the water that being associated with that cult.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: They start isolating you out, so it's not a place, it's like if you're going to go and court the cult, you're going to lose all these other people that want to move on.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: These Republicans that no longer consider themselves to be maga.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: the people that were afraid of Trump but hate him.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: The people who stole or established with people that are still remain in Congress, although there's fewer and fewer of them.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so it could get to the point where you can't have it both ways.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can't report the cult.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: and then also court the normies.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can't do it.
- 37:54[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: OK, I want to ask you this.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: I want to get to some fun stuff in a second.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: But first, I want to ask you, what's your take on this whole thing with democratic socialists?
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to hear what you have to say.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I'm going to say because the argument out there is really pissing me off, but I'm just curious what's your take on what's happening with them.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think once you start putting that label on them, you're going to turn off a lot of people that don't understand that sometimes, even if you're a conservative Republican, there are certain times in our history, and certain circumstances and issues that are country where sometimes you need that from a group that you are taught to hate, but they may have some really good ideas that work for us now.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that you have to sign off your life and now you're a social, a certain democratic socialist.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the best way for them to be successful,
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: around specific issues that they want to people to call us around is to stop making it a tribe with a separate title.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that you find that out when the people who want to pull support from them are the ones that label them.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know right away how you do that.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because there are too many people that want to identify as that as a separate tribe as a subset a sub party within the democratic party to create this division and then you then you stop then you're not having a debate about specific issues that are necessary right now 10 years from now we may not need it, but we need it now.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so I mean you see this with with my not with the now me and my time in.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: in New York, you know, he's done some great things, and you can support those great things without saying, well, now I'm a member of his party or his movement, so that's what has to happen, and that is a really, really,
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: tough thing to do, but it helps if you recognize it and adopt it as a political communication strategy, which I don't think they're doing.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's just people like my group is now getting power, so we're going to go and try and get more people to join my group and start identifying, you know, as democratic socialists.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what I'm the thing that's pissing me off is more on the side of the voter side, because I feel like, um,
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're seeing, I think a lot of this is also tied to Israel and a pack and all this stuff and people are tribal that way.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like, you know, prior to mom-doney, prior to this whole conversation, not that this is a new conversation, but it's really gaining momentum.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: All we ever heard was the Democratic Party's a big tent because you're not going to get the same person in New York as you're going to get in Iowa, but now what that's still true, right?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's still to take off the Democratic Socialist messaging and labeling, well, labeling.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: And like you said, he's doing some good things, but we put labels on each other and then we all become divisive and hate.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what's pissing me off because I'm seeing people, you know,
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: you know, if you're right.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody came on and said, oh, he's always trying to be so cute.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I deleted the comment because I thought, you know what, this is a big fucking deal to people with pets.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big fucking deal.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, and he's not being cute.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: This is not about the picture was him holding a cat.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: And this woman has decided she hates him.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if it's because he's a democratic socialist.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's because it is.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what I'm saying is I don't know if it's solely based on his label or if it's also based on whatever they think he thinks about Israel.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: But you just said, remember we were talking a minute ago, you said the man on the street interviews when you say, oh, uh, uh,
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Biden did experience.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there you go.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and then we're not all that different.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you say no Trump did it and they changed their minds and and I think that's a perfect example.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're talking about here, Kimberly, is that when you start putting the labels on it or associate it with a person.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a whole different thing when you're just trying to sell.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: a single item, but not even a menu like this whole thing here, this is what running on.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Here's our platform.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's just do it one issue at a time.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then people and it's not so scary.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, take your medicine a little bit of time.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to eat vegetables, you don't have to sit there and eat a whole pile of broccoli.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't like it, but mix it into your stew.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think when they're, when they're pressuring people to like adopt this whole new title right.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: So join our culture, our tribe, or come over to our side of the street.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's just too big of a, it's, it's, it's a recipe for disaster and failure and division and, you know, and the danger in this, yeah.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I mean, I look at somebody like Platner and, you know, I stayed away from him.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't fucking talk about him because I just felt like, first of all, this is happening in Maine.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: And even though his vote will, you know, have something to do with my life because if he votes with or against the Democrats, that will affect me.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, this was for Maine voters to decide in the primary.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I did not like him.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I, you know, I'm of the mind that we know
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: So let's just give him a shot because everybody keeps insisting that he's going to be the next federalman.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, why are you saying that?
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know that.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he will.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe he won't.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I want to throw in there and I'm not defending him.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: I am not defending him because I agree with you.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's problematic.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: I wish we would have had somebody different, but he's our guy.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I will say, and I say that is a Democrat, he went through
- 43:30[SPEAKER_00]: and you know my father went to Vietnam and when he came home from Vietnam granted he was very young but he was fucked up for a while because he was a young guy in war and he had to see shit that no one should ever see and you know I'm grateful that my dad is you know uh
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: a healthy for the most part, you know, he's turning 80 this month and he's got a good family, he's led a good life, but he had to fucking go in a war and see awful shit and, you know, he hasn't really told us what he's done, what happened over there.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't talked about it.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what he had to do, but when you're thinking in terms of where you can guess,
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what my father might have had to do and what he witnessed.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: And it fucks you up.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm not, again, I'm not making excuses for Graham Platner, but I feel like he went through four tours, and that's gonna take a toll.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also going to give him an inform him when he gets elected.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I, I, I, I hope for the best with him.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that even though he's a problematic candidate, if he gets elected, that he does a wonderful job.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, we all do.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to assume he's going to become federalmen.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not going to start talking shit about him because I just feel like, all right, we know who Susan Collins is.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: The other one here at the hip to trump.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's the key.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it has to do.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: The ramp ladder is running against trump Collins, call it trump Collins, running against trump Collins.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what matters here.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that would be the political communication strategy I'd recommend.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now, again, I, when I brought up earlier here when we were talking was if there is a Supreme Court opening and it gives Susan Collins to change proof, especially if it
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: like Trump still gets his pick, but Susan Collins gets to vote against a Trump pick.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: That could be something that saves her seat and Republicans might be working that into that.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: However, though, however, I mean, I don't know how Susan Collins thinks, but she's not a spring chicken, and I would think that if I were her, I would think this is probably my last run, so maybe she wouldn't care.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like is she gonna run again in six years?
- 45:49[SPEAKER_00]: She's going to be alive in six years, but she has Parkinson's.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: She named what she has, why she talks like that.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: I forget what she said it was.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just talking, it's their shaking.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I remember when she was first elected and the guy who became her husband was her.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: He was doing her transition was going to be your chief for staff and they wanted to meet with me and she wanted me, you know, one of you communications director and I, and I at the time I was communication director for a house committee and I didn't really want to go over to the to the Senate.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I really liked her and um, she was a moderate like me and it was just it was, you know, Republicans are taking over the house at the time and it was the first time working on Capitol Hill.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'd work for Bob Michael Larry Hopkins, so they couldn't, they would not be allowed in the Republican Party these days.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Bob Michael was a house Republican leader and he made it all the time with Tip O'Neill.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was just a different time, but it was the first time that I started feeling this little bit of a squeeze from the right wing that it already always just been.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's fringes off to the side, but new needed them.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: And the religious conservatives, the evangelicals, what we call the family groups, as part of the coalition to get the majority.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: So sometimes you had to give a nod to them.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so I was relieved during that era.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just a couple years after that, to see a female Republican senator who was sane and moderate.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: And she kind of maintained that until Cabinaw and the lettered Leo money and needed their help.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they cheated for her.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Colorado famously said allegedly to a whistleblower that if a state is within three percentage point on an election night, you can cheat undetected, you know, a few voice votes for precinct.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think they broke their three percent rule for for Susan Collins.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think she was too far down in the polls.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: Leonard Leo actually bought in a state in the state of Maine.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: He gave her so much money and had the big fundraiser for her.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think they did that in exchange for her vote to confirm the cabinet.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: And so they own her.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: So if they want to own her again, they probably would have to let her, and if they don't need her vote, they would probably have to let her vote against a Trump scotist to save her.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that would be a way for her to split from Trump and unhinged, you know, not be joined at the hip width.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me thinking out loud as a strategy.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: Makes sense.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: OK, now I want to ask you, why aren't you talking about Mitch McConnell?
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody said they did.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody said he's on life support.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that's true, but he probably is, and then I've also, I don't know what you know, so I'm going to ask you this, I mean, some people, many people are saying, but some people are saying that she, he's he's basically they're trying to
- 48:52[SPEAKER_00]: write this out so they don't have to replace them.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think is going on?
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is that what's happening?
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this could be a weekend at Bernie's type situation too.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: If he's incapacitated, obviously, the right thing to do would be to just resign so that they could put in the middle.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Mitch McConnell doing the right thing.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah, my guess is, you know, they can keep him alive if they can keep a heartbeat and you can do that, you know, that is so gross, you know, I know, but you do it so that yeah, so that you don't get.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: to replace him and yeah, I mean, I think there's there's some stuff going on there.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Just like what's his name?
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: Tom came Jr.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you know, gets to take three or months off because he's depressed, but he's voting against legislation and that would allow other people to do the same thing.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: He was gain paper.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't so depressed that he couldn't do a lot of trades.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's great.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the only thing that said, when he's talking about that was, yeah, yeah, I would, when I get depressed, I would be happy to have I got to make a few million bucks.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's my spirit's in the music.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then I would say Kimberly,
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Get in Uber or get up on the closest metro and come the DC because we don't want you driving.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to buy all the drinks.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to come because now and that's going to make me not depressed anymore.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to do that because you don't want to share you to be depressed.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I would want to make a couple million like you did.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, yes, don't we all.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, I've got a couple things here, let me look, let me look, okay, first I want to ask you, have you watched, these are the more fun, not political questions.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen the dinosaurs on Netflix?
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, I haven't.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: Highly recommend.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: Huh.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: Steven Spielberg and what's his name?
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_00]: Why can I never remember his name?
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: Morgan Freeman.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: He, of course, he's the narrator.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: Of course he is.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_00]: What's the plot?
- 51:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_00]: And it's great because, I mean, the documentary starts off with the amphibians that were here before the dinosaurs.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I did not know this because I didn't pay that close attention in school, but I didn't know that it fucking rained for a million years.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know that?
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, I didn't and now I now I have my new binge.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just finished all of the updated now on all of the virgin river.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my mom was in that.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I'm now going to have to do this one.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: I fact I was going to put out the clarion call and social media.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: What should I watch next on HBO?
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so okay.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've got a couple of suggestions for you, but there's four of these and they're like 48 minutes each.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're fantastic.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: They're mind blowing also.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen widows bay?
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: Widows Bay.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, you got to watch it.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's so fucking good.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is, but if it's not it's HBO, I don't know what it is.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could have to look it up.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's called Widows Bay.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's excellent and they just got renewed for a new season.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know you're going to like it.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, because I remember you were going on and on and on about somebody somewhere on Facebook, and I told Bob about it.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: And like Bob loves the show so much.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_00]: We've already watched it through twice and immediately wanted to start watching it again.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can't explain it because it's one of those things that you can't explain why it's so good.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like about these people that just, you know, live their life in this nothing town.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm being right in, Jerry.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but it's, but it's so good.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny and it's got, oh, and you know what?
- 52:34[SPEAKER_00]: One of the guys from that show is on, uh, I don't remember Joel, her best friend.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's on Widow's Bay.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, he plays.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's great.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be his friend.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: I want to hang out with him.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, and then I'm trying to think what else?
- 52:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because we just watched, we just finished Widow's Bay.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: And, yeah, the giant, oh, also.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see Bridgetton, all the Bridgetton?
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, I have it.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: What is that?
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you have to see it.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the things I can't explain.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's, you know,
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: What they do is they take England from like the hundred years ago, but it's different because it's a shonder rhymes thing.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: So they just change history a little bit, but it's not in any part of the storyline, but where a king married a princess who's black from another country, and so everything is racially integrated.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: So the high society of Great Britain.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: with the waltzes and the queens and the dukes and all that is black and white.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it has nothing to do with the storyline.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, oh, if the world were slightly different, right.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what's kind of cool about it.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because it shone to rhyme since she just wanted to do this.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's like we're going to change this one point of history.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, it's as simple as that.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: But it is just all the ins and outs and the intrigue.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, oh, I can't, it's one of those things I can't explain, but sometimes you recommend it to me and I got hooked.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got hooked.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's also, I mean, if you haven't seen, I think it's just one, but it's called the guerrillas.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's on Netflix, and it's David Attenborough.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just so worth it.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: I have seen that as I've been scrolling.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I got dinosaurs and guerrillas.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: And guerrillas.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it's with us Bay.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think you'll be very happy with all of those.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a really good program.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's a really good program.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for a while for the piece, Bill, that we're in.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: no kidding and then I just want to throw this out there that I posted something on Facebook and I have so many fucking issues with Facebook and I'm still on it but whatever.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_00]: I posted something and somebody commented and I replied to them and my reply was I need a new drug one that won't make me sick and now I got restricted and my profile is at risk so you know I don't know
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: is because they showed me, it said something about illicit drugs, and I thought, oh my god, how many fucking medications are they selling on Twitter?
- 55:06[SPEAKER_00]: How many drugs are they selling on Twitter?
- 55:09[SPEAKER_00]: I just said drug, I didn't say,
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: any kind of particular drug or elicit drug, I just said, I need a new drug.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have to make that the you be a V, like if you use the F or right, right, like God, you can't even fucking say that.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's unfucking believable and I do want to say just really quick with the whole AI thing.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I could be wrong.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guess.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that the AI thing is going to be as bad as we think.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying it's great and we got to figure it out.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's never gonna go away.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to go away, but it will tell you what you want to hear and give you some bad advice.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: It does, it gives you terrible advice.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: You get a terrible advice.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: Completely wrong.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_01]: I even, you know, when I saw it, it said about me.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, no, that's a different person, but okay, you know.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: But forever and ever and ever, that's going to, you know, it says this about Sherry Jakobas and like, nope.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, I was, I'll just give you this brief little story.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: I had heard about, you know, somebody mentioned passive income.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought, okay, I'm going to go over to AI and ask.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_00]: What's a good way to make some passive income?
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: So it blurt's out all this stuff and it tells me all this stuff and I'm looking at it and there's a lot of stuff that I won't do and I'm not going to get it too detailed here But what I will say is I landed on something that seemed and I apologize to all of my listeners to my Tuesday show because I'm I already told the story, but anyway
- 56:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, I see this one thing, and I'm like, oh, I could do that.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: I could do that.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: I need to learn how to do it, but I could do it.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 56:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like you just have the story where person writes in AI and says, hey, what's a good passive income idea AI says here's three or four of them and person goes, oh, okay, that sounds great.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to look into it.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to, I'm going to get involved.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I start getting involved, right?
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: I buy the websites needed in order to do it and because it involved, you know, online shit.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then I started thinking about it.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, hmm, do pages like this often get, because it was a YouTube page.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: Do they get demonetized?
- 57:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: I had basically just told me, go do something that gets demonetized.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought, OK, well, what about if I did this instead?
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it was about my book.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: I thought maybe what I could do is I could do a YouTube page and have stories from my book, The Virgin Dyeries, which is obviously about stories of, you know, first time sex.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I took a screenshot of my book and I told the, you know, I told the, I, this is my book.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is a story from my book.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_00]: Can you put this into text for me?
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, I can't do it because it's talking about sex with minors, and I can't do that.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh, but you can suggest to me something that perhaps I could get in trouble for with the law, because that was one of the things you could get in trouble with the law for what they suggested.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it would also be putting all your time in money and then you get demonetized, but you won't take my copyright in words.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_00]: And put them in a text that are from a book.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just like, I just was like, oh my God.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, Bob sometimes, I mean, we all use it, even if we don't think we're using it.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because like when you Google something, you're using it.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_00]: And Bob was, I don't know, doing something.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_00]: And he was, I think he used the one who told me that if you ask,
- 58:43[SPEAKER_00]: AI, how to spell Google.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_00]: It tells you it's spelled with our how many ohs are in Google.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_00]: It tells you three.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: And so I went, I think I went to chat GTP and I asked, and it said three.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I said really, explain it.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_00]: It only has two.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: I know that a lot, too.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: It tells you you're right.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_00]: It tells you you're right when you're obviously right.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so the result for me is like, I don't really use AI.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's too fuck.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me so angry.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: I get so angry when I, I mean, sometimes I use it just, you know, for whatever I'm doing.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I need a quick answer, just like we Google everything.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, and I try not to use it too much and I would never use it to write for myself or anything like that.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what I do?
- 59:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because sometimes I write out a post, right?
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm in a mood and I write this dry kind of humor post.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'll post it into AI and say, is this funny?
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: If I post this is this funny and then it will be like, no, here's something that's funny.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then it gives me the most,
- 59:50[SPEAKER_00]: Boring, it's trope, it's not funny, because it doesn't have a soul.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there is no soul, it's just information.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_00]: You can't information, it's like AI doesn't know how to be funny, that's human, right?
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_00]: That comes from us, that doesn't come from information.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: So then AI doesn't have any information until they get it from us.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that, yes, we've got a problem with AI, but I think it's something that if we get it regulated and we change the way that it, you know, so we're not, it's not using all this fucking condensation and using all this water, if we can figure out ways around it, I think it's great because it's never going to go away.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_00]: And it can absolutely, you know, we heard television was going to be the end of us.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_00]: Then we heard the internet was going to be the end of us, and maybe it is, right?
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it is.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's a human beings freak out over all the change.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_00]: Every single time I got on Facebook, I used to be on Facebook primarily, and they would always change the format.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody would lose their mind.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just like, oh my god, they're gonna change it in a month again.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're gonna be upset because it's not like it is now.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's always going to change, but people don't like it.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I get why people don't like AI and I get why I understand the danger and I understand all of it.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: But if we regulate it and figure out a way to use it to our benefit, but look at fucking internet, it's all fun like that way.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you know, when I was coming at, you know, I was like afraid of it.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, it's a gateway drug to shooting up and then it's never afraid of it.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then and then and then it got to the point where you didn't know what it was Laced with and everything and then I get cancer.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I got a medical card.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't, you know, the recreation wasn't legal and Maryland yet.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I, and I, my oncologist didn't like the vaping, but you need a quick hit to get the edge off.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, and the edibles were good for longer term.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_01]: It helped you get the anxiety when you're going through treatment.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_01]: You came out radiation and just all of it.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_01]: You need that and and then I afterwards I use some of it.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't vape.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to put foreign substances in in my lungs, but I do get I do get sleepy time edibles because they do help me they don't put me to sleep, but they help me relax so that I can sleep and I only do like a half a one.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I'd no longer think it's a great way drug to heroin.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: No, it isn't.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's been shooting up.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of over that 50 years after I first started.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, I grew up in Southern California and I was exposed.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: at a very young age too many different drugs, you know, I mean, there was just everywhere, in fact, in my high school, everybody was doing, well, I don't want to say everybody, because not everybody, but a lot of people were doing cocaine, and it was easy to get, and it was just everywhere, because it was the 80s, and I lived on a beach town, and, you know, I mean,
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you wanted to get cocaine, if you were a girl, you could get it for free and it was funny though because I did, you know, when I was a kid, I did smoke pot and I tried a variety of drugs like my girlfriend and I once we tried speed and I hated it.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: I hated it so much and I never did it again.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then we tried a downers and I hated them and I never did them again.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_00]: at least not recreationally.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then I did mushrooms.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think I've told that story before, and it's a fucking hilarious story, not at the time.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: But I, you know, I thought in my mind, because mushrooms were from the earth.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: They, like, I was afraid of LSD, but I thought, well, you know, mushrooms are from the earth.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_00]: And it just so happened.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: That is valid.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like getting a salad and then you were young as kind.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I try you're pretty young.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_00]: I was 17 and basically my girlfriends had all done it and they were like, yeah, it's awesome.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so we were going to go to the Griffith Park.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_00]: It was, you know, the Griffith Parkly Zarium show of Led Zeppelin.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_00]: and it was in Hollywood and we lived in Beechtown and so we met these guys who my friends knew and they're like, hey, we got mushrooms and they're like, whoa, whoa, so like we all did them and then I wound up in Hollywood Presbyterians because I did not not agree with me.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I never did mushrooms again.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I mean, I did, I tried a lot of different things.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_00]: I can't say pop was necessarily a gateway drug because there were so many drugs kind of circulating
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_00]: The stuff, I tried certain things and I was like, no, I don't like this, and I can't say that I'm proud of this, but you know, when I was younger, I did cocaine, but then I think I, and I don't know how many times I did it.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I did it at five times, and I did have fun.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of fun.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: But then I remember, it was like the last time I did it, I think it was around 18, 1989.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it was cut with something.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I felt like I had been poisoned.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't like the feeling.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember I just went home and I ate because I thought I need sustenance.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_00]: I need, you know, I need something because I feel like I ingested something Iki.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then that was it.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I never want to do it again.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I would go to parties and it was everywhere.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I had absolutely no interest in doing it.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: I had been dating a guy who had it.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I did it with him.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_01]: And at first, I thought, well, this was kind of cool.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then one time did too much whatever and you didn't sleep all night and hard racing.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I did not feel right.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's when I started thinking, this probably could be very, very dangerous.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm young and bounce back from it.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I thought, I don't need this.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'll just not do this in you.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: And the other thing was,
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, my disposable income was going for like clothes and stuff like that.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_01]: So it's I was never really in in danger of having a drug problem because there's no way I would spend my money on it.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, no, it's just not going to happen.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to be a close horse.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to do fun things and that would have been so far down the list of anything.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_01]: I would have been willing to spend any money on.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm really glad that I just didn't, I just didn't want to do it.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_00]: And as far as pot is concerned, I just feel like all the reformadness and all that stuff.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I never,
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_00]: I never grew up that way.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it was always around and it was always available and it was just something that didn't scare me.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I had a completely different experience with it.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_00]: But my experience, again, being in Southern California and kind of, I didn't grow up only in a beach town, but I spent basically my high school years there.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_00]: And so, and it was a beach town in the 80s,
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's like a blast.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_01]: It really was.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I was, I was fortunate because I wasn't a kid that was going to get all caught up in that.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I got caught up in having fun, but I didn't get caught up in trouble.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I could have been a better student and I could have paid more attention in class.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_00]: But I, you know, I just had fun with my friends and we would go to parties and do all the typical stuff.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't, you know, your Bob's like, I can't even imagine your,
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_00]: life growing up.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I would have ever passed any class.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_00]: I've just been having too much fun.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I look back and I think I'm really grateful.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just grateful that I didn't have the personality because at the time, when I graduated high school, I met this guy, he became who's like my first real boyfriend.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember I wrote in my diary, he does too many drugs.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, that was an understatement.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_00]: And he did cocaine.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess this woman had given him this woman
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_00]: gave him a bunch of crystal meth a lot of it and I didn't know what it was.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was cocaine and he was like just take and he was like, you know, a teen, he was 19 18.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you know how the 18 year olds are like naturally lean young men.
- 1:07:41[SPEAKER_00]: He was the naturally lean guy.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_00]: and he was doing this crystal meth all day and I did it because I was so upset that he was doing and I thought, well, if I do it, then I can't get mad at him.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought I was going to die.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not even kidding.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_00]: I had done cocaine.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_00]: It does not feel the same as crystal meth.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: Crystal meth is like taking poison.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought I was going to die.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so in the period of like five days after he was just doing it all the
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_00]: and he was so skinny and he looks so sick and I just said, okay, it's the drug or me.
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_00]: and he threw the rest in the toilet and he did stop doing, you know, he stopped all of it, he stopped cocaine and all of it and then eventually we broke up anyway.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_00]: But it was like, you know, I'm glad that I didn't get into that.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_00]: Because he was an alcoholic and he art, he art a propensity to all of that kind of addictive behavior and I didn't.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, other than smoking, stupid me smoke, but I stopped because I did, I did too when I was young.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we all do shit.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I did it up all the other times.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_00]: It allows my forties.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when I, when I was in college at WVU and then I'm older than you, you smoke in class.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you wanted to.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I went to, I had English professor, she'd be at the friend of the class and she'd sit up on top of her desk and she'd need a light up and sit on the field.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be able to handle it now because when I did quit, I was like, I never looked back and thank for I quit.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_01]: May they, that's when I quit, too.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: I got shimmed.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was deeply ashamed of it.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_01]: I only did it.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_01]: Me, too.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd sit at home and and I'd smoke and then I thought and these things are expensive and then has a novel ridiculous yeah, I mean and I wish I could have every dime back that I ever know I don't cigarettes.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then I quit and all of a sudden my sinuses were better and it's like 10 years off my face so it's like okay, and you know what happened to me I used to get sick all the time at least two times or three times a year.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_00]: I would get a cold.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have had
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_00]: I've had two minor colds since 2013.
- 1:09:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, yeah, it's really made a difference.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I never got COVID.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, granted, I didn't go out, and I hid from COVID.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_00]: But...
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't get it even after, you know, and I know that I was around a couple of times when other people had it and I didn't know, but I didn't get it thankfully.
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I'm naturally immune to it, but I will say that I think that the fact that I mean, if I had been a smoker, I couldn't even imagine smoking during COVID, but if I had been a smoker, I feel like perhaps my resistance would have been down and I might have gotten it, you know, where I think, you know, I don't know for sure.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, well I guess we better get going.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: We got a wrap this thing up.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_00]: I got things to do.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_00]: People to see.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_00]: People to see.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Busy busy schedules here.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm so grateful that you had some time to chat with us.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_00]: I really enjoyed our conversation.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's going to, I think people are going to enjoy it too.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_00]: So as I ask all my guests or you know, ask of all my guests to tell everyone we're to find you.
