- 0:00Speaker 1: The force will be with you always.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome back to another up Star Wars Live.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It's your home on geek Alter Life podcast Network, burning
- 0:27Speaker 2: all these Star Wars. I'm your host as always Katie,
- 0:30Speaker 2: and with me as pre as usual. It is Clay. Clay.
- 0:34Speaker 2: How are you doing today?
- 0:36Speaker 1: I am doing okay. I wouldn't say more so because
- 0:45Speaker 1: I for the first time and I think about a month,
- 0:47Speaker 1: I had more than four hours of sleep. Oh yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: so yay. Yeah, I uh, we we've we've you know,
- 1:01Speaker 1: our situations early which I am not ready to announce
- 1:06Speaker 1: to the show quite yet because it's still up in
- 1:09Speaker 1: the air. But because of that stress, you know, it happens,
- 1:15Speaker 1: I get it. And then also a three year old
- 1:20Speaker 1: that refuses to want to use the toilet, So.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I need to hook you up with my sister
- 1:30Speaker 2: because her three year old didn't the exact same thing.
- 1:33Speaker 2: He changed himself yesterday. He changed his own diaper versus
- 1:39Speaker 2: use the toilet.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So so she she has pull ups, which we've we've
- 1:45Speaker 1: gotten out of the diaper phase. She uses the toilet
- 1:49Speaker 1: for number two, but refuses to use the toilet all
- 1:54Speaker 1: the time just to peek. And it's kind of inferior
- 2:00Speaker 1: because like we will tell her to go and she's like, okay,
- 2:04Speaker 1: she goes to the bathroom, and then she runs back
- 2:07Speaker 1: because she doesn't want to miss Peppa Pig or Bluie
- 2:12Speaker 1: or whatever we are watching, even if it's just like
- 2:14Speaker 1: a random movie. And then it's like, okay, ten minutes
- 2:21Speaker 1: have passed, let's go get you some pj's. And then
- 2:26Speaker 1: as she's walking, I see the full pull up and
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'm just like, girl, what happened? And and she is
- 2:35Speaker 1: so freaking cute as hell. I hate it. She like
- 2:39Speaker 1: I'll ask her, did you pee in your pull up?
- 2:41Speaker 1: And she just looks at me and she goes mm
- 2:45Speaker 1: just a little, but it's like completely full, and it's
- 2:52Speaker 1: just like, I'm.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Not I'm not look looking forward the potty training we've
- 2:56Speaker 2: kind of started, but.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's it's a roller coaster because like there's progress and
- 3:02Speaker 1: then there's no progress, and then there's digressing and there's
- 3:05Speaker 1: progressing and there's just yeah, so yeah, it's it's it's
- 3:11Speaker 1: just been wonderful. It's been wonderful. I love my child.
- 3:16Speaker 1: She knows that we love our children, but it's insane.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But yeah, been doing good? How about yourself?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Okay, we're doing pretty good. We're doing pretty good. I
- 3:30Speaker 2: have a two year old now, so yeah, I'm looking
- 3:35Speaker 2: for your Mother's Day this weekend and literally doing nothing.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Nice. Yeah, you gotta have those days. You got to
- 3:44Speaker 1: have those days. I have made it a point, and
- 3:47Speaker 1: I think I said this last week, but I've made
- 3:49Speaker 1: it a point that on my one of my two
- 3:52Speaker 1: days off, I do absolutely nothing, and especially like and holidays.
- 4:00Speaker 2: See, but when you're trying to sell a house, that
- 4:02Speaker 2: doesn't really translate as well.
- 4:05Speaker 1: That so, so it's unfortunate timing you, you know, but
- 4:15Speaker 1: do it the best you can, even if that even
- 4:19Speaker 1: if that means telling Matt, hey, you have to do
- 4:21Speaker 1: twice as much work today because I'm doing nothing. You know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: that's just that's just what you have to do. That's what.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll have to see how to see how Star
- 4:34Speaker 3: Wars May the fourth past, guys, and uh, as I
- 4:40Speaker 3: this was a direct quote that I told Katie.
- 4:43Speaker 1: We got debated, guys. Uh, there was there was all
- 4:47Speaker 1: sorts of rumors and like speculation on what was going
- 4:51Speaker 1: to be announced. Like even Katie unknowingly kind of added
- 4:56Speaker 1: to it with like sending me a screenshot of like
- 5:00Speaker 1: this random photo of the Tales of Things, and I
- 5:03Speaker 1: was like, WHOA, what is this? Oh, it looks like
- 5:06Speaker 1: there's two extra slots. It could mean that, like more
- 5:08Speaker 1: shows could be coming. And then like everybody else kind
- 5:11Speaker 1: of just like dog piled on the idea on threads
- 5:14Speaker 1: and on Twitter and everywhere else. So I was like,
- 5:17Speaker 1: this has to be it. And then there was like
- 5:20Speaker 1: a leaked itinerary for like what was going to be
- 5:23Speaker 1: announced on May the fourth, and one of those was
- 5:28Speaker 1: Tales of Did you say Tales of Luke Skywalker?
- 5:31Speaker 2: I think that should have been Luke Skywalker.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I think that should have been the red flag for me,
- 5:36Speaker 1: because none of them have been like a name. Otherwise
- 5:40Speaker 1: it would have been like Tales of ah Soka, you
- 5:42Speaker 1: know type of thing.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Well, and the other key for me was the image
- 5:47Speaker 2: that popped up for the Tales where they were like, oh,
- 5:51Speaker 2: like this is a steep preview of what's to come.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It was blue lightsaber Luke Skywalker. If it was Tales
- 5:58Speaker 2: of he should probably have a green lightsaber.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yes, that was the other thing I wanted to say,
- 6:05Speaker 1: was I understand that a new Hope he had the
- 6:10Speaker 1: blue lightsaber in Empire strikes Back, he had the blue lightsaber,
- 6:15Speaker 1: but as he identified himself as a Jedi Master, he
- 6:21Speaker 1: had the green lightsaber. That is who he is as
- 6:24Speaker 1: a character, and I don't think they would shy away
- 6:27Speaker 1: from that in marketing.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not gonna tell. There have been plenty of
- 6:32Speaker 2: stories told between A New Hope and Impire Strikes Background.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Even though we know Dave Filoni loves to retread things,
- 6:42Speaker 2: I don't think he would retread in that area because
- 6:45Speaker 2: that's his mentor's area. Plus plus Luke is known for
- 6:50Speaker 2: the green lightsaber. Yeah, like that is his lightsaber. So
- 6:57Speaker 2: it didn't make a whole lot of sense for that
- 6:59Speaker 2: to be the case, because there's not a little there's
- 7:04Speaker 2: not a lot of original stories or new things that
- 7:07Speaker 2: you could add it. Like, I don't want to say
- 7:11Speaker 2: it was one thing, but it was one thing for
- 7:13Speaker 2: him to do Ahsoka because he kind of needed a
- 7:16Speaker 2: third episode to finish out Ahsoka's arc in Tales of
- 7:21Speaker 2: the Jedi, I think, but like a New Hope and
- 7:27Speaker 2: Empire Strikes Back is the beginning of Luke's arc, you
- 7:30Speaker 2: want to tell something after that, So yeah, at least
- 7:34Speaker 2: that's my perspective.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and then uh oh, we'll go ahead, go ahead,
- 7:39Speaker 1: what were saying?
- 7:39Speaker 2: But the I was gonna say. But the one thing
- 7:41Speaker 2: we did get is we got a lot of gaming
- 7:44Speaker 2: previews for like seasons on the SIMS whatever.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Well, there was also a Fortnite got uh Anakin, Sarawalker,
- 7:58Speaker 1: and Ahsoka from Clone Wars. I believe they also got
- 8:04Speaker 1: like a new map that is Star Wars related as well.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then I believe this is where you're gonna lead up.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I don't know the actual release date because I didn't
- 8:16Speaker 1: see it, but Galactic Racer apparently got an official relation
- 8:22Speaker 1: October six. I'm hyped, clue.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Because I'm hopeful I can convince Matt to get it
- 8:33Speaker 2: and let me play it on his Xbox, because I've
- 8:36Speaker 2: just decided, even though I'm a PlayStation girl, for the
- 8:39Speaker 2: games that I want to play, it legitimately makes absolutely
- 8:44Speaker 2: no sense for me to have a PlayStation. If I'm
- 8:47Speaker 2: only going to play one or two games here and
- 8:49Speaker 2: they're available on his Xbox.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You don't have a PlayStation at all.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I have a PlayStation four, I don't PlayStation of five.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Ah, and I believe it's only a new gen game.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so it would be he's got the Xbox, the
- 9:07Speaker 2: Xbox whatever it is, Series X. It's not one anymore.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was gonna say one is is it a black
- 9:14Speaker 1: Xbox or is it a white Xbox? It's a black Okay,
- 9:18Speaker 1: then it's the.
- 9:18Speaker 2: X giant like computer looking thing.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I have the series S. I am deeply regretting it
- 9:30Speaker 1: because my whole like hey, I'm going to digital only
- 9:34Speaker 1: is completely backfiring on me in this new age of like, hey,
- 9:39Speaker 1: we should really think about keeping the media.
- 9:44Speaker 2: When it came out, he and I talked about that
- 9:46Speaker 2: in depth because he he likes collecting all of the
- 9:50Speaker 2: game cases, like he has all of his like Xbox
- 9:53Speaker 2: three sixty cases and stuff. All that stuff.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well, well for me it was more of, hey, we
- 10:02Speaker 1: don't have a house. We don't have the space for
- 10:06Speaker 1: all of this stuff. I'm going to get the digital
- 10:08Speaker 1: only stuff so that way I'm not taking up as
- 10:12Speaker 1: much space as you know, I don't need to. So
- 10:16Speaker 1: that was a really big thing for me. But I
- 10:19Speaker 1: will probably be getting this on the PlayStation. I do
- 10:22Speaker 1: have a PlayStation five which is digital only. And then
- 10:29Speaker 1: what was what else was announced on There.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Was some zero company footage and like confirmation that's going
- 10:38Speaker 2: to come out in twenty twenty six, no date though,
- 10:41Speaker 2: no date, it's going to make that date six.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I am still very scared for that game. I
- 10:48Speaker 1: really really really want to play that game. That will
- 10:51Speaker 1: be the first one that I'm like pre ordering Galactic Racer.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I think I'll just buy out right. I don't need
- 10:59Speaker 1: to like pre order or anything. I know that they
- 11:01Speaker 1: have like, uh, collectors additions and like stuff like that,
- 11:06Speaker 1: but I think that is just more of a cozy,
- 11:10Speaker 1: lazy game where I'm just gonna be, you know, just
- 11:12Speaker 1: turning it on every once in a while to race
- 11:14Speaker 1: a couple of times, whereas, uh, the Zero Company game
- 11:19Speaker 1: will be something that I will plan out my week
- 11:24Speaker 1: to play. So we will see how all that goes. Today,
- 11:40Speaker 1: celebration tickets put on sale.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yes they did. VIP almost out of sale.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Vip sold out in twenty minutes.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeh sold out.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Unfortunately, there is a lot of people who used bots
- 11:59Speaker 1: to or just these and are already reselling these tickets
- 12:04Speaker 1: for like two or three thousand dollars.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Read pop. This has been a very big trend with
- 12:12Speaker 2: read pop. This means to get it together and basically
- 12:16Speaker 2: severtize at this point because it's just not worth it
- 12:21Speaker 2: for the fans, Like, there are going to be people
- 12:24Speaker 2: who spend that money to go to celebration you and
- 12:28Speaker 2: I not one of those people.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Well, yeah, so I was telling you I took a
- 12:34Speaker 1: snapshot and I actually have it right here. I wanted
- 12:37Speaker 1: to see. I was like, hey, a four day ticket
- 12:43Speaker 1: is two hundred and sixty dollars not something that I
- 12:46Speaker 1: can comfortably spend at this moment. Impossible to do so,
- 12:51Speaker 1: but I was like, how quickly can I get into
- 12:55Speaker 1: the actual scream to purchase that ticket. I have been
- 13:01Speaker 1: on this screen for now three hours.
- 13:05Speaker 2: It's so dumb and it's very limiting to people because like,
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'm swamped at work, so I didn't even like I
- 13:14Speaker 2: saw the email notification, but I didn't have time to
- 13:17Speaker 2: go do it, Like I would have had to take
- 13:20Speaker 2: the day off basically to sit in line on the
- 13:24Speaker 2: computer to like matter it.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It does say, hey, you can close this page without
- 13:30Speaker 1: losing your place, but I remember to go back exactly,
- 13:36Speaker 1: So I have only been refreshing like every thirty minutes
- 13:40Speaker 1: or so. And yeah, this is a long line for
- 13:47Speaker 1: tickets ationally.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, because your four days, your four day tickets have
- 13:51Speaker 2: been sold out. I think Saturdays are almost sold out.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Oh, four days are already sold out. Yeah, that's the
- 13:58Speaker 1: line that I'm currently waiting for. So it's a waste
- 14:00Speaker 1: of time to even see how long it takes me. Yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 1: they're already saw that in the same.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So it would have been fun, but it's just not
- 14:14Speaker 2: in the cards. Hopefully it will be one day.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Hopefully it will be one day. You know, Katie and
- 14:20Speaker 1: I have big aspirations for the show. Things have kind
- 14:24Speaker 1: of had a little bit of a setback just due
- 14:28Speaker 1: to personal life stuff on both of our parts. But
- 14:33Speaker 1: the horizon looks even better. So that's kind of what
- 14:37Speaker 1: we are hoping for when it comes to the future
- 14:40Speaker 1: of this show and of being able to go to
- 14:42Speaker 1: events like that. So not twenty twenty seven for us,
- 14:47Speaker 1: but hey, who knows, maybe twenty twenty nine.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Hey, maybe we shoot for New York Comic Con. We
- 14:55Speaker 2: know they like to do book stuff there, so I.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Was gonna say, I think it would be more exciting
- 15:02Speaker 1: to see if we can get the d l from
- 15:06Speaker 1: like Tom or somebody. Which, by the way, we got
- 15:10Speaker 1: more authors to like our stories on Instagram. Yes, all
- 15:17Speaker 1: of May fourth Katy was doing in the work I
- 15:19Speaker 1: haven't and just reposting stuff on her store, on our
- 15:24Speaker 1: stories over at Star Wars Alliance on Instagram, and I
- 15:28Speaker 1: like woke up to the notification for Lydia Kang and
- 15:32Speaker 1: I was like, what did we do? And I had
- 15:38Speaker 1: not even noticed the stories being added when Katie was
- 15:43Speaker 1: doing all of that on May the fourth. So when
- 15:46Speaker 1: I woke up May the fifth and all I saw
- 15:48Speaker 1: was Lydia Kang's name on my phone, I was like,
- 15:53Speaker 1: what in the world. I didn't seething what happened?
- 15:58Speaker 2: We didn't have an image and I got stuck at
- 16:00Speaker 2: my mom's four May the fourth, so I didn't even
- 16:04Speaker 2: like get on social media until like four o'clock on Monday. Yeah,
- 16:10Speaker 2: so I was just like, well, I want to post something,
- 16:13Speaker 2: so we're just gonna post just we're.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Gonna repost everybody else's stuff. Yeah, that's awesome, but it
- 16:21Speaker 1: was it was really really fun. It was cool to
- 16:23Speaker 1: see all of that. But yeah, guys, I think we
- 16:26Speaker 1: are so desperately trying to avoid talking about this direction.
- 16:32Speaker 1: If you haven't noticed, we're sixteen minutes in and we
- 16:35Speaker 1: haven't said anything about Malish that ole lord. But I
- 16:38Speaker 1: think we should jump into it.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I think, I think guys. So Clay had texted me
- 16:44Speaker 2: and was like, let me know when you watch mall
- 16:47Speaker 2: and I was like, YadA, YadA, YadA, I'm not gonna
- 16:50Speaker 2: get to it until tonight. The twler didn't want to
- 16:54Speaker 2: go to sleep, so that delayed things even more. But
- 16:58Speaker 2: we as I was done with mal, what gift did
- 17:03Speaker 2: I send you.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Clay, so I can actually show everybody you sent me? Well, actually,
- 17:14Speaker 1: did you actually send me a gift?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Oh?
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yeah, you sent me the This should have been an email. Yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 1: And that basically says it. Now we cannot start this
- 17:32Speaker 1: conversation without the elephant in the room.
- 17:36Speaker 2: The reason that the last episode on the list in
- 17:43Speaker 2: the episode titles was called finale, we were like, oh,
- 17:46Speaker 2: maybe that's a sign that it's not going to get renewed,
- 17:50Speaker 2: like they're only trying for one season. Like and for
- 17:54Speaker 2: those who are listening, that pause was Clay showing as dark.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yater I have I have a have a photo here
- 18:01Speaker 1: on YouTube showing Darth Vader. Darth Vader was the big reveal.
- 18:07Speaker 1: We had our opinions about is Darth Vader going to
- 18:11Speaker 1: show up? And we will discuss more so why we
- 18:17Speaker 1: are upset at the idea of Darth Vader coming in.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I will let Katie go first because I have no
- 18:26Speaker 1: choice words.
- 18:28Speaker 2: So first things first, as we have gone through the
- 18:32Speaker 2: entire season, we cannot say that we disliked the entire thing.
- 18:38Speaker 2: The animation is gorgeous, the music fucking fantastic, choreography amazing,
- 18:47Speaker 2: but Lightsaber Fights, animation and music do not negate the
- 18:54Speaker 2: fact that this was a crappy story.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And that is the big thing now when and that's
- 19:01Speaker 1: why I think.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I'm not saying like, oh, put this in a book
- 19:07Speaker 2: like that was not why because I posted the it
- 19:09Speaker 2: should have been an email gift on social media as well.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I'm not saying like, oh, there should have been a book.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I'm literally saying there was no point of this story.
- 19:21Speaker 1: When you look at the context of the story. This
- 19:23Speaker 1: is the biggest problem that I have about the entire show.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Every single person from now until the dawn of time,
- 19:35Speaker 1: when Freaking Star Wars ceases to exist, the only thing
- 19:43Speaker 1: that people are going to talk about are these last
- 19:47Speaker 1: two episodes.
- 19:50Speaker 2: And that's why I the first thing I said when
- 19:53Speaker 2: Darth Vader came out was chicken chicks is because you
- 19:58Speaker 2: can't tell an original story. You literally, you literally just
- 20:02Speaker 2: repeated Rebels season two. Basically.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We even said, if they do this, it's going to
- 20:11Speaker 1: feel very Oh this is what uh this is uh
- 20:17Speaker 1: a freaking uh uh uh not and or I'm I'm
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm I'm Rebels, No No One, Rogue one. This is
- 20:26Speaker 1: Rogue one all over again. This is Rebels all over again.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You cannot capture lightning in a bottle twice. You just can't.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I believe that there could have been a great story here.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We've seen multiple people talk about, Hey, the stuff that
- 20:51Speaker 1: you're throwing at us between episode one and episode nine,
- 20:59Speaker 1: there's off there. You're just not going into detail about
- 21:04Speaker 1: the stuff that we want to see. Yeah, it's just
- 21:07Speaker 1: a whole lot of hubbub, a lot of lightsaber battles,
- 21:11Speaker 1: maul just killing people over and over and over again. Okay,
- 21:16Speaker 1: that's not a story. We need details, we need a story.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And again, just like I said, this entire show is
- 21:29Speaker 1: going to just.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Be oh but Darth Vader, Rogue one is not oh
- 21:40Speaker 4: but Darth Vader.
- 21:41Speaker 1: He has talked a lot about a lot of people
- 21:44Speaker 1: do talk about that ending, but Rogue one is its
- 21:49Speaker 1: own thing. It has a story, there's a reason there
- 21:53Speaker 1: is context throughout the entire movie that moves the story
- 22:01Speaker 1: of Star Wars forward. This, uh oh, somebody is not happy.
- 22:11Speaker 2: This has to go to bed, So we moved her
- 22:14Speaker 2: bedtime pack. So yeah, we'll probably be hearing a little
- 22:17Speaker 2: bit more of her.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It's all good, it's all good. We've we've heard, we've
- 22:23Speaker 1: heard a lot from Amber Lynn. It's it's only fair
- 22:25Speaker 1: that it's it's it's it's Mars turn. The story of
- 22:31Speaker 1: mal currently does not push the story of Star Wars forward.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Now there was and we we kind of had our
- 22:45Speaker 1: own laughs after you were done watching the big sentiment,
- 22:57Speaker 1: the biggest sentiment that I have seen. And I'm pretty
- 23:02Speaker 1: sure I bookmarked it so that way I can quote it.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Let me double check just to make sure.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Well, and like, yeah, Clay's gonna pull up that tweet.
- 23:12Speaker 2: But like, the fight is gorgeous, it really is. It
- 23:17Speaker 2: looks fantastic. But it's like they wanted to explore the
- 23:23Speaker 2: future of animation, and we're like, how can we do
- 23:28Speaker 2: this the quickest that we possibly can. They didn't even
- 23:32Speaker 2: take advantage of the fact that Sam Whitwer is so fantastic,
- 23:37Speaker 2: Like he is very muted in this. He like, I
- 23:41Speaker 2: don't think we've talked about his voice acting once in this.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah, not a whole lot. Not a whole lot. Actually, well,
- 23:52Speaker 1: my thing to you. Oh and I did screenshot it,
- 23:54Speaker 1: That's what I did. I didn't. I didn't work, Margaret,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I screenshot it. Somebody said five, mainly saying why Maul
- 24:01Speaker 1: walks with a cane, why one half of his lightsaber
- 24:04Speaker 1: is taken from an Inquisitor blade, and why he knew
- 24:08Speaker 1: he couldn't take later on a loan and rebels is
- 24:11Speaker 1: just so great.
- 24:14Speaker 2: What he didn't take an Inquisitor blade.
- 24:18Speaker 1: No, he didn't, but it is implied that he has
- 24:21Speaker 1: to take one later because he gave one to Devin.
- 24:25Speaker 1: That's why, right, But.
- 24:27Speaker 2: The lightsaber that she gives or he gives her, is
- 24:32Speaker 2: not one that he's currently using. His lightsaber is connected,
- 24:37Speaker 2: like he's wielding two blades. At the end of it,
- 24:39Speaker 2: he gives her a spare lightsaber.
- 24:41Speaker 1: No, no, no, that's his, that's his. It's happening.
- 24:44Speaker 2: It's not his.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure it is.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I don't think that's his.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure it is.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's I don't think and people can probably get mad
- 24:58Speaker 1: at me for this. I don't think his lightsaber has
- 25:01Speaker 1: been consistent throughout this entire show.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I don't think so either.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And it might be like just a thing with taking
- 25:15Speaker 1: or or like speeding through the animation or whatever. But
- 25:27Speaker 1: I thought it was the other half of his lightsaber
- 25:30Speaker 1: that he threw to her when she was facing the
- 25:36Speaker 1: other inquisitor at the end of the episode. So yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 1: the one that the one that she is given because
- 25:48Speaker 1: I can let's see year. I can even I can't
- 25:55Speaker 1: take a picture of it, like a screenshot or whatever,
- 26:00Speaker 1: but I can take a picture of it and send
- 26:04Speaker 1: it to you. This one is his, Now does it
- 26:18Speaker 1: look like that in the middle of the fight. No,
- 26:26Speaker 1: let's see here, because where is all right? So she's
- 26:38Speaker 1: fighting this inquisitor, her blade gets knocked down. He has
- 26:45Speaker 1: both sides of his blade. Yeah, that's his, because the
- 27:04Speaker 1: next time we see him he's only holding one half.
- 27:09Speaker 1: That's his other half. So whatever, it's because it's because
- 27:20Speaker 1: the way that she has to hold, or the way
- 27:23Speaker 1: that the animation has her angle and her grabbing it.
- 27:27Speaker 1: You can't see any of the red like little circles
- 27:31Speaker 1: that are usually on his hilt, but there's an angle
- 27:36Speaker 1: where she has it above hit her head and it
- 27:40Speaker 1: looks more like his lightsaber at that point.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Well, and I think the biggest thing is that I
- 27:52Speaker 2: think the biggest thing for me is Mama has consistently
- 27:55Speaker 2: changed lightsabers, and we know that he has developed lightsabers
- 27:59Speaker 2: for other people, well like Sabaja Press's lightsaber was built
- 28:04Speaker 2: on by mal So like the fact, so I see
- 28:11Speaker 2: a little bit more where they're coming from. If they're like, oh,
- 28:13Speaker 2: he's gonna replace something, sure.
- 28:16Speaker 1: But like, well, the big the big joke for me
- 28:22Speaker 1: is everybody's freaking out. We finally know why he's using
- 28:27Speaker 1: a cane who cares?
- 28:29Speaker 2: He He's also pretending because he walks perfectly fine after
- 28:35Speaker 2: he reveals himself as mall like, he shows up as
- 28:39Speaker 2: an old name because he wants to hide. That is
- 28:41Speaker 2: literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
- 28:43Speaker 1: He is manipulating. And then the next thing is, uh,
- 28:52Speaker 1: the whole lightsaber. Okay, we know that he uses dual lightsabers,
- 28:58Speaker 1: so he has a news lightsaber. Who cares? It is
- 29:02Speaker 1: not this big amazing thing the fact that he knew
- 29:07Speaker 1: that he couldn't take Vader alone in rebels. Hello, every
- 29:14Speaker 1: Force user can sense one another and knows their power.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah. And at that point two Maul didn't need that
- 29:24Speaker 2: explanation because Vader has been around in rebels for fourteen
- 29:30Speaker 2: sixteen years at that point, Yeah, like Vader is well known.
- 29:35Speaker 2: There was no need for an explaination. Oh, he knows
- 29:38Speaker 2: he can't fight Bader, Like he knows that's impossible.
- 29:42Speaker 1: It is It is this sentiment that people have. And
- 29:46Speaker 1: I I said this in a text to Katie. I said, Hey,
- 29:52Speaker 1: I know that there's people who just absolutely are yes
- 29:56Speaker 1: men when it comes to Star Wars. They can never
- 29:59Speaker 1: do anything wrong and all of this other stuff. But guys,
- 30:02Speaker 1: we need to learn how to critique art. We are
- 30:11Speaker 1: upset at the fact that there's zero story in this
- 30:15Speaker 1: entire ten episodes. We and are not nothing. We are
- 30:21Speaker 1: not raising our nose to people. No, no, no, no, that's
- 30:25Speaker 1: not what we are doing. We have been spoiled with
- 30:32Speaker 1: so much story in Star Wars books that give detail,
- 30:40Speaker 1: that give so much character development and all of these
- 30:44Speaker 1: other things. And don't tell me that a TV show
- 30:48Speaker 1: can't do that. It absolutely can.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yes. And the problem is is that Lucas wanted reviewer
- 30:57Speaker 2: to be able to track more state of mind throughout
- 31:00Speaker 2: these episodes. As much as the animation is beautiful, you
- 31:04Speaker 2: don't get that internal dialogue in these faces, Like so
- 31:09Speaker 2: there's no inclination that there's something going on internally with
- 31:13Speaker 2: mal at this point, there's nothing. If you wanted to
- 31:17Speaker 2: tell that story, then maybe it should have been in
- 31:19Speaker 2: book form where you can lay out an internal conflict
- 31:23Speaker 2: a little bit better. But in an animation you need
- 31:26Speaker 2: to have it telegraphed on their face because that one
- 31:31Speaker 2: puddle vision is not going to cut it. Like at
- 31:34Speaker 2: the end of the day, if you want to tell
- 31:37Speaker 2: a story of internal conflict and like it would have
- 31:40Speaker 2: been one thing if there was like some revolutionary thing
- 31:44Speaker 2: revealed in this No, there's no revolutionary thing. There's nothing.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Paul Betty did not return to voice.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, we kind of figured, yeah, we we did call
- 31:57Speaker 1: that somebody. He commented on the fact that that lucasfilm
- 32:06Speaker 1: actually still kept in a very random detail on Drayden's
- 32:12Speaker 1: or Dryden's design, which is the fact that on his
- 32:19Speaker 1: right hand he has a giant thumbnail. I think I
- 32:27Speaker 1: can't remember if it's a thumbnail or a pinky nail.
- 32:31Speaker 1: But like people assume that of course it's for snorting spice,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and so it's something that is like important to his character,
- 32:43Speaker 1: which on my second rewatch I did notice is random
- 32:50Speaker 1: long nail. I was like, okay, completely random to keep
- 32:55Speaker 1: that detail in, But to each their own, you know,
- 32:58Speaker 1: it is what it is. And you know, Katie told
- 33:03Speaker 1: me before we started going live that she could not
- 33:08Speaker 1: stomach doing another rewatch because it.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Was so mad at the end of this, because there
- 33:16Speaker 2: is so much potential to what the story could have
- 33:19Speaker 2: been that I just was like, I don't want to
- 33:23Speaker 2: deal with it. I don't want to deal with another watch.
- 33:26Speaker 2: One thing I did see on threads, and I don't
- 33:28Speaker 2: have who said this saved, but I saw somebody say
- 33:32Speaker 2: that they did not think that Lawson was dead because
- 33:36Speaker 2: he is the only man who witnessed. Yes, Gasta or
- 33:40Speaker 2: Maul pushed Docky into Vader.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about this because there was somebody
- 33:45Speaker 1: else who said, oh uh, I can't believe lost and
- 33:53Speaker 1: sacrifice some stuff, blah blah blah. Guys. One thing that
- 33:56Speaker 1: we've learned in all of fiction, you didn't see a body.
- 34:01Speaker 1: He's not dead, and they purposely yep, showed him disappear. Well,
- 34:09Speaker 1: for one, they purposely showed him witnessing what Maul did
- 34:13Speaker 1: to Docky. That's one. And then two they purposely showed
- 34:16Speaker 1: him going into the fog and then it quick cuts
- 34:20Speaker 1: to something else. Do you never see him fall? You
- 34:23Speaker 1: never see more blaster bolts hit him or anything. So
- 34:28Speaker 1: that he immediately tells me he's gonna live with this,
- 34:31Speaker 1: also immediately tells me is God damn it, he's gonna
- 34:34Speaker 1: be in season two because we said, hey, I think
- 34:38Speaker 1: this is best if he has his happy ending and
- 34:41Speaker 1: he's not part of season two, because then I know
- 34:45Speaker 1: it's just gonna drag on. Yep. They're gonna drag this.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Off yep, basically, And I don't know why. I don't
- 34:57Speaker 2: know either because at this point, like I don't think
- 35:05Speaker 2: the way that the way that Devin reacted to Docky's death,
- 35:11Speaker 2: I don't feel like there was a whole lot of
- 35:16Speaker 2: balance there to really make it work where if Lawson
- 35:24Speaker 2: of all people comes in and tell it. I think
- 35:26Speaker 2: it would have been one thing if Riley had witnessed it,
- 35:28Speaker 2: because I think she had a little bit better bond
- 35:30Speaker 2: with Riley, But with the fact that Detective losson saw it.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I don't think she had the same bond to really
- 35:38Speaker 2: evoke that necessary. Oh I'm gonna change. Clearly, we know
- 35:44Speaker 2: that Mal and Devin split at some point, so clearly
- 35:49Speaker 2: this is where they're leading it to. It's not a
- 35:53Speaker 2: very good story.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I don't think it is. There was another thing, apparently
- 36:02Speaker 1: one of the devs or showrunners or something.
- 36:06Speaker 2: That's listening to me. He said he took him apart
- 36:09Speaker 2: and gave her one half.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Now I see a better image of his lightsaber now,
- 36:25Speaker 2: and I can see it. I just thought that was
- 36:27Speaker 2: a spare lightsaber that he had, like he had saved
- 36:30Speaker 2: Savage's lightsaber. Oh, so that was my thought process.
- 36:39Speaker 1: There is somebody out there, a part of Maul saying
- 36:47Speaker 1: how they think it's interesting that we as fans believe
- 36:54Speaker 1: that Devin could be d'artage m hm, And that immediately
- 37:03Speaker 1: tells me, Okay, she's not Darth Town, you know. Does
- 37:09Speaker 1: that mean she can't become something else that is now
- 37:13Speaker 1: canon because Darth Talent currently is not canon from my knowledge? Correct?
- 37:20Speaker 2: Correct?
- 37:21Speaker 1: All right, there you go, And this of course comes
- 37:26Speaker 1: out again as us fans projecting a legends want first. Yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 1: into Hey, this is going to happen because of course
- 37:40Speaker 1: she has Leku, she's pink. It works out perfectly, you know, yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 1: which guys like, come on there, there can be other
- 37:51Speaker 1: things that happen with that. And so I think that
- 37:56Speaker 1: with this moving forward, I think, okay, if she moves
- 38:04Speaker 1: on to be something else that isn't Darth Talent. I
- 38:10Speaker 1: need this to be something that is involving the future
- 38:17Speaker 1: of Star Wars, not this pocket that Feloney loves to
- 38:22Speaker 1: play in because it doesn't mean anything to me. And
- 38:26Speaker 1: I know that sounds blasphemous, but the stories that happen
- 38:33Speaker 1: in between that are literally bookending each other until it
- 38:37Speaker 1: gets to a finite point, it means that it goes
- 38:40Speaker 1: nowhere outside of that Star Wars.
- 38:44Speaker 2: The fact it just plays into the the oh gosh,
- 38:52Speaker 2: it just plays into the idea that Disney doesn't want
- 38:55Speaker 2: shows the last past three seasons. But Felony has like
- 38:59Speaker 2: this eight teen seeson arc that he's always wanted to tell. Basically, yes,
- 39:04Speaker 2: it is what it plays into.
- 39:06Speaker 1: But I if if Devin becomes like this like secret
- 39:11Speaker 1: Sith Lord thing, you know, or even outside of what
- 39:17Speaker 1: what have we called them before.
- 39:20Speaker 2: The Actlites of the Beyond.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yes, something along those lines. Then I need to see
- 39:28Speaker 1: her in the Race Skywalker movie. Mhm, you know I
- 39:33Speaker 1: need something like that. So then that way, when it happens,
- 39:38Speaker 1: I could be like, oh shit, now I need to
- 39:41Speaker 1: actually pay attention to mall, you know, like that is
- 39:45Speaker 1: what I want, That is what I need, because again,
- 39:50Speaker 1: when you look at the timeline that he is playing
- 39:53Speaker 1: in the Sandbox, there's bookends, and then he adds two
- 39:56Speaker 1: more bookings that are even closer together, and then more
- 39:59Speaker 1: bookings that are closer to and it just goes to
- 40:01Speaker 1: this point of hey, it's not going anywhere. Yeah, and
- 40:05Speaker 1: I don't like that. Now we've talked a lot of
- 40:08Speaker 1: shit about MA I want to I do want to
- 40:11Speaker 1: talk about one positive that I was actually really really
- 40:15Speaker 1: happy about. I gasped when it happened. It's literally, Katie,
- 40:20Speaker 1: it is literally a blink and you miss it moment.
- 40:23Speaker 1: You don't understand the reference because you've never played the game.
- 40:26Speaker 1: But I saw somebody on Twitter say, for a split
- 40:31Speaker 1: moment he came back to me this frame. This literally
- 40:37Speaker 1: happens for maybe one to two to two and a
- 40:42Speaker 1: half frames. Yeah, this is the frame in reference and
- 40:49Speaker 1: this is the.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Game, ah see, Because again I'm not going to pick
- 40:56Speaker 2: up on those references. Matt was like, oh, he split
- 40:59Speaker 2: it apart. Oh, I really wanted him to turn his
- 41:02Speaker 2: lightsaber run and fight like Ahsoka does, And that is
- 41:05Speaker 2: literally what he's said.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And technically he does for like a split second. But
- 41:11Speaker 1: this is the reason why he split his lightsaber. There's
- 41:16Speaker 1: also a moment at the very beginning of episode nine
- 41:23Speaker 1: where Maul is attacking all of these UH stormtroopers and
- 41:31Speaker 1: he is deflecting their shots. He runs his blade through
- 41:38Speaker 1: an atst and then throws his lightsaber behind him. Yeah,
- 41:43Speaker 1: and like splits it in half. And this is, almost
- 41:48Speaker 1: to a t, the exact kind of move that you
- 41:51Speaker 1: can use and forced unleashed to the point where somebody
- 41:56Speaker 1: edited the uh the push notification or the or the
- 42:01Speaker 1: button notification of like the X square circle triangle and
- 42:10Speaker 1: edit it on top of the scene to show like
- 42:14Speaker 1: how similar it is to the actual video game. And
- 42:18Speaker 1: that was actually really cool, really nostalgic. I do like
- 42:23Speaker 1: these small references to a video game that I genuinely
- 42:29Speaker 1: loved to play when I was younger. You know, we
- 42:33Speaker 1: we've talked about the idea of like, hey, we know
- 42:36Speaker 1: that Star Killer is literally too overpowered to be able
- 42:42Speaker 1: to be inside of the Star Wars cannon, and so
- 42:47Speaker 1: I will never see him in Cannon, but I can
- 42:50Speaker 1: see glimpse of glimpses of him here in mal and
- 42:54Speaker 1: that's what I can appreciate. And that is just a
- 42:57Speaker 1: that is that is fans of the franchise creating brand
- 43:02Speaker 1: new content for the franchise, which is also really really cool.
- 43:09Speaker 1: There there was a quote from Whitword himself that I
- 43:16Speaker 1: did end up bookmarking and there was a conversation about
- 43:21Speaker 1: how he it says here that's a bummer even for
- 43:27Speaker 1: Mall fans. What you want to see is a show
- 43:30Speaker 1: that has some complexity, where characters are challenged. When somebody
- 43:37Speaker 1: asked him about like, oh well, he says that he
- 43:42Speaker 1: didn't want to make a show that was just Mall
- 43:45Speaker 1: going around and hurting people and what does that like
- 43:50Speaker 1: look like? Right, And that's kind of what the show
- 43:56Speaker 1: became though, Yeah, Mall was just hurting people and a
- 44:02Speaker 1: point like, the only real sentimental thing that I have
- 44:09Speaker 1: seen from this show was the flashbacks or visions. And
- 44:16Speaker 1: there's also a video of Sam We're talking about that,
- 44:19Speaker 1: about how he actually does all of the voices in
- 44:23Speaker 1: those flashbacks. He does the voice of Sidious, he does
- 44:25Speaker 1: the voice of Savage, he does the voice of young Mal.
- 44:29Speaker 1: And it's because of it all being in Mal's head
- 44:35Speaker 1: because and w word does explain, we don't know if
- 44:40Speaker 1: all of this is true. This is all what Maul
- 44:42Speaker 1: remembers slash vision, you know, because of this whole prophet
- 44:47Speaker 1: thing that Mal has. So it's in his perspective when
- 44:53Speaker 1: not not A whole lot of people, uh in the
- 44:55Speaker 1: real world can project somebody else's voice from their brain
- 45:00Speaker 1: onto a page when they're reading a book. Right, this
- 45:03Speaker 1: is the same thing. Like Maul is not able to
- 45:08Speaker 1: necessarily put those voices to those people because it's all
- 45:13Speaker 1: in his head, which I thought was a nice touch. Yeah, aesthetically,
- 45:20Speaker 1: so like these people know how to make a show.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I think that they artistically are amazing at it, but
- 45:29Speaker 1: when it comes to a story, they are limited to
- 45:34Speaker 1: ten episodes and it is hurting them yep.
- 45:39Speaker 2: And that is the downside. I think it was one thing.
- 45:44Speaker 2: If this was a season of Clone Wars, for instance,
- 45:48Speaker 2: where you had twenty four episodes, I think you would
- 45:51Speaker 2: have been much better off. The fact of the matter
- 45:53Speaker 2: is is that your longest episode was one episode at
- 45:56Speaker 2: thirty minutes, and the rest of the episodes were twenty
- 45:59Speaker 2: three men is loan. It doesn't set you up for success,
- 46:10Speaker 2: and you have to you have to tell a tight story,
- 46:15Speaker 2: and that didn't happen here. So the writer, So you
- 46:22Speaker 2: had Matt mckknavitz, Julia Cooperman, Amanda Rose Munez, Jennifer Corbett
- 46:31Speaker 2: who was the showrunner for bad Batch, Christopher Yost and
- 46:37Speaker 2: Brad Raw were the writers. So at least Feloney wasn't
- 46:43Speaker 2: writing by himself.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Mhm.
- 46:46Speaker 2: But I wonder how tight the outlines that Filoney provided
- 46:51Speaker 2: word at the end of the day.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Some other random tidbits. What what is Maul's right hand?
- 47:09Speaker 1: What's her name? Rook? Rook was voiced by the same
- 47:17Speaker 1: actress who does Sindula. Yeah, And when asked how she
- 47:26Speaker 1: wants to go out, she replied, I want Vader to
- 47:31Speaker 1: rip my lungs out. And that's exactly what they did
- 47:35Speaker 1: when they explained it to her, versus what they do
- 47:40Speaker 1: in the actual show, if you notice, and I had
- 47:45Speaker 1: to really listen. On the second on the second watch,
- 47:49Speaker 1: she screams and you hear a squash, it is because
- 47:55Speaker 1: her lungs are literally ripped out from her. Yeah. Wow,
- 48:00Speaker 1: And that's kind of intense. And that's one thing that
- 48:02Speaker 1: I also wanted to talk about with these last two episodes.
- 48:07Speaker 1: These were the most violent episodes of the entire series.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And when I say that, we look at Clone Wars
- 48:21Speaker 1: and we look at what let's rewind, we look at
- 48:25Speaker 1: Stormtroopers almost like droids because they have no face. Yes,
- 48:31Speaker 1: there's a helmet, but we don't see these people as people. Unfortunately,
- 48:38Speaker 1: that's just how it is, and it's how it's kind
- 48:42Speaker 1: of meant to be, and so we don't really second
- 48:48Speaker 1: guess anything when things happened to them. I made a
- 48:52Speaker 1: point to look at how these people died. Blaster bolts
- 48:57Speaker 1: to the face, heads cut off, Everything that you could
- 49:02Speaker 1: think of happened in these two episodes.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Yep.
- 49:08Speaker 1: And I was a little surprised by that. I was too, And.
- 49:16Speaker 2: It's just an example of why animation isn't always for kids.
- 49:21Speaker 2: But I think they just wanted to up the violence
- 49:26Speaker 2: when it came down to adding Vader in. They wanted
- 49:30Speaker 2: to be like, oh, this is what's worth it. I
- 49:33Speaker 2: think they also got another choreographer for this final battle,
- 49:38Speaker 2: because I feel like this battle was on another level
- 49:44Speaker 2: compared to the white saber fights with the with Mal
- 49:48Speaker 2: and Devon and then the Inquisitors and Mal and Dokey
- 49:51Speaker 2: and Devon. It just felt on a different level.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Yes, that is because mall shadow Lord use various martial
- 50:06Speaker 1: arts forms from The Phantom Menace as inspiration for the
- 50:13Speaker 1: action sequences. Okay, somebody this was I can't remember who
- 50:18Speaker 1: this is, but he says, we break down styles based
- 50:21Speaker 1: on earth bound forms of martial arts. For Mal, we
- 50:25Speaker 1: went back to the original wushu kung fu from The
- 50:28Speaker 1: Phantom Menace. So when it comes to everybody's favorite lightsaber battles,
- 50:38Speaker 1: we see two references. We see the Phantom Menace Final
- 50:42Speaker 1: Battle and we see Revenge of the Sith. Everybody brings
- 50:47Speaker 1: those two fights up all the time because the number
- 50:51Speaker 1: one complaint is how did we go from this to this?
- 50:54Speaker 1: And they're showing the final fight between Ray and Kylo,
- 51:00Speaker 1: and people can't get through the thick skull that time
- 51:03Speaker 1: has fucking passed and all of those fighting styles have
- 51:06Speaker 1: been lost, and people don't understand that for some stupid reason.
- 51:10Speaker 1: But here I am to share it with you. So
- 51:16Speaker 1: because of course this is more that we're dealing with,
- 51:19Speaker 1: they went back to that original art form or fighting form,
- 51:24Speaker 1: which is also an art form. But that is why
- 51:28Speaker 1: it felt more intense, because it's something that we haven't
- 51:33Speaker 1: seen for quite some time.
- 51:36Speaker 2: That makes sense. It's also you can also I like
- 51:41Speaker 2: how they choreographed it to show that Vader is kind
- 51:45Speaker 2: of in his infancy state. I felt like he was
- 51:49Speaker 2: definitely getting used to his new fighting form, his new
- 51:55Speaker 2: body and everything.
- 51:57Speaker 1: You can tell.
- 51:58Speaker 2: This is very early on in Vader's career, so I
- 52:00Speaker 2: liked that distinction there. He fights still heavy handed in
- 52:05Speaker 2: later iterations, but is much more fluid with the way
- 52:09Speaker 2: he attacks. So this was just like I'm going.
- 52:14Speaker 1: To batter you well. Speaking of when I was watching
- 52:19Speaker 1: it for the first time and I saw what Maul
- 52:22Speaker 1: did to Dokei to push him forward to the fight
- 52:25Speaker 1: of MA, I said to myself and kind of out loud.
- 52:29Speaker 1: I was like, Dokey, run, run, run, And he kept
- 52:34Speaker 1: on fighting. And not only did he keep fighting, he
- 52:36Speaker 1: actually landed a hit on Vader, and I literally said
- 52:39Speaker 1: out loud, that's the worst thing you could have done. Ah, Like,
- 52:45Speaker 1: I know you're fighting on the defensive. That is literally
- 52:48Speaker 1: the worst thing you could have done. And immediately after
- 52:51Speaker 1: you see the annoyance and the anger come out of
- 52:55Speaker 1: Vader at that moment where he just keeps on bashing
- 52:58Speaker 1: and bashing and bashing and bashing. We have seen throughout
- 53:02Speaker 1: the entire series. Doci is not healthy. Doki was wounded.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Whether this be from purely old age or other instances,
- 53:13Speaker 1: we don't know, but he was not at one hundred
- 53:18Speaker 1: percent from the start. I still would have like, technically
- 53:26Speaker 1: you can say, oh, Mal did this, Mall killed him,
- 53:29Speaker 1: but no, it was Vader. Yeah, and so I'm still
- 53:33Speaker 1: upset that Mal didn't kill him.
- 53:40Speaker 2: I am too, But I think at the end of
- 53:42Speaker 2: the day, like we said, like Mal needed to be
- 53:46Speaker 2: able to have plausible deniability with Devin at the end
- 53:51Speaker 2: of the day. And like there is no voice actor
- 53:59Speaker 2: listed for Vader doesn't say a word this entire time.
- 54:02Speaker 2: He just breathes.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah. He he does the entire Mike Myers thing. He
- 54:10Speaker 1: is very menacing. He does a lot of jump scares
- 54:15Speaker 1: in this episode for the finale, which a lot of
- 54:20Speaker 1: people do, Like again they were freaking out. This is
- 54:24Speaker 1: the best thing ever, Like him just being completely silent
- 54:27Speaker 1: and a badass. Is just amazing. Blah blah blah, and
- 54:31Speaker 1: again a little annoying to me, but it is what
- 54:34Speaker 1: it is. I just now also realize.
- 54:37Speaker 2: We do have uh he just put that in the chat.
- 54:42Speaker 1: In the chat, uh, Josh Tomorrow and Daniel Walden ignore
- 54:48Speaker 1: negative headlines when Star Wars put the focus on promoting
- 54:53Speaker 1: the Mandalorian Grogu to families all around the world.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Any negative headlines?
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so far alright, I haven't I know that for us,
- 55:04Speaker 1: we've seen low expectations. But yeah, negative, yeah, but uh yeah,
- 55:16Speaker 1: I think for the most part.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Well, the one the last thing is Moroc falling off
- 55:23Speaker 2: the cliff. Then you think he's still alive and that
- 55:30Speaker 2: he just chooses to run basically, or at least that's
- 55:36Speaker 2: what I insinuated from what you said.
- 55:38Speaker 1: So so no, So Morocc is the one with the helmet, right,
- 55:41Speaker 1: the one that you can't see his face at all.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Well, they both have helmets, but like the black helmet
- 55:47Speaker 2: versus the white helmet, the.
- 55:48Speaker 1: The all black helmet. See, No, there's a helmet and
- 55:51Speaker 1: then there's a mask. I think that's the difference. There's
- 55:54Speaker 1: a helmet and then.
- 55:55Speaker 2: There's just a, Okay, I'll allow it.
- 55:58Speaker 1: So morocc is the one with the helmet with the
- 56:00Speaker 1: Knight's helmet is kind of how I see it. No, no, no,
- 56:04Speaker 1: I said that he is dead. I think he died
- 56:08Speaker 1: when he got pushed off that cliff. Okay, so you think,
- 56:11Speaker 1: but he died. But the insinuation is that the exact
- 56:18Speaker 1: same body and everything is reanimated for Ahsoka to show like, hey,
- 56:26Speaker 1: this is the exact same person. He can't die quote unquote,
- 56:30Speaker 1: he can't die because of the reanimation. That's literally all
- 56:37Speaker 1: I think it is.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Because he's definitely reanimated. He's it's just a matter of
- 56:43Speaker 2: is this his death or does he die later in
- 56:46Speaker 2: like season two?
- 56:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I think this is his death, and season two
- 56:52Speaker 1: we will see him again and they'll be like a
- 56:54Speaker 1: whole conversation of how I killed you, and then there
- 57:00Speaker 1: will be an explanation that he could be reanimated. Yeah.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Because well, and the question is because it's Night Sister magic,
- 57:08Speaker 2: that's the big thing. Because he's got the green smoke
- 57:11Speaker 2: when Ahsoka kills him in the Ahsoka shell, So how
- 57:16Speaker 2: do the Night Sisters get involved there? Well?
- 57:21Speaker 1: Okay, that that does make a point because I know that,
- 57:26Speaker 1: of course, uh, Morgan can definitely help that happen well
- 57:38Speaker 1: the timeline of Ahsoka, But here I'm not entirely sure.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I think here's the issue because I believe and I'm
- 57:44Speaker 2: not one hundred percent sure on this, but Morgan's night
- 57:49Speaker 2: Sister Clan was very different than the one Assage Ventriss
- 57:55Speaker 2: came from. Yes, they might not have had the same magic.
- 58:00Speaker 2: So obviously, I think we know that Morgan does raise
- 58:06Speaker 2: morocc but did he raise him the first time? Did
- 58:10Speaker 2: she raise him the first time, or did she raise
- 58:12Speaker 2: him just the last time and it was just a
- 58:14Speaker 2: stage I'm going to keep raising you kind of thing
- 58:21Speaker 2: because clearly I think mal is kind of capable in
- 58:25Speaker 2: the same way of coming back because he's been already
- 58:30Speaker 2: raised once, so I feel like he could be a
- 58:32Speaker 2: second time. I don't think we'll see him if if
- 58:39Speaker 2: more so at the end of the day, I think
- 58:42Speaker 2: if more if Morgan Elsbeth is the one who raises him,
- 58:47Speaker 2: I don't think we'll see him next season. I think
- 58:50Speaker 2: he will just be gone and that she eventually learns
- 58:54Speaker 2: how to raise him and that's how he comes to
- 58:57Speaker 2: be in the Asua show. Yeah, that's my theory.
- 59:09Speaker 1: So I'm gonna have to watch or do a little
- 59:15Speaker 1: reading because I'm curious. On the Chrow mask, he dies,
- 59:33Speaker 1: he's killed from Asoga. He Ahsoka kills him. We know this,
- 59:37Speaker 1: We've seen it from Tales of the Jedi. Does this
- 59:44Speaker 1: mean are we going to see what we've actually seen
- 59:53Speaker 1: all the other inquisitors so far? Yes, and we've all
- 59:58Speaker 1: seen them die, Like there is literally no other Inquisitor
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: that is there or in existence that could face Mall
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and have to survive. You know, well, I guess they
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: could survive, but it's just like it would feel kind
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: of pointless, you know, yeah.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Because obviously you've got Bears, but Bears runs off and
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: manages to survive the things. Crow dies in Tales of
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: the Jedi. Yeah, and all the other inquisitors die off
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: other places. So maybe we don't see an inquisitor next season.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Maybe it's just maybe it's purely just.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Underworld stuff.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I feel like that is a safer
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: route because if they're being chased by the Empire, there
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: is the worry of like, oh, you're just reshreading another
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: story from season one all over again, which I would
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: hope that they don't do so yeah, I scratch that.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I don't need to see inquisitors in season two.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't need to see them either. I think
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: it'll be much simpler if the story is more condensed
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: into one area and we don't have to drag in
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: the Empire to play in. I'd rather just see Mal
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: train Devin and the underworld, because I do think with
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: him losing Rook, I do think Mal is going to
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: be in even more turmoil because Rooke was kind of
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: like his voice of reason at the end of the day.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: So it'd be interesting to see how he handles that well.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: And that was the thing. He lost his crew. He
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: lost everybody, lost Agoris.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he lost everybody. So at the end of it,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: it's just Riley, two Boots, Mario, Devin.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: And Mal, do you I guess yeah, because they did
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: jump on board. What do you think two Boots and
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Riley are gonna do.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Lawson said that he wanted Riley to get to his mom.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: I think they could try, but I don't think the
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: mom's going to take Riley in, Like. I think that's
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: gonna be like a trophy thing where she's like, oh,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: I worked for the Empire. I can't take you and
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: you need to leave right now.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Like, so, so that's that's the angle. Then two Boots
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: and Riley have no choice other than to be part
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: of Mal's crew. Two Boots will try to be the
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: voice of reason. Lawson finds his way back, finds them,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: tracks them down, and then that's where we finally see
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: in the last two episodes of season two, last and
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: tell Devin about what he saw.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. The other thing I forgot about
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: is spybot Dice, and I was very sad by that.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I was sad.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Matt was like he's a bad guy, Like what.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: And I was like, did you hear did you hear
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: the emotion in his voice at the egg Master? And
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: then he feels so sad, stupid freaking inquisitor.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Yeah, gosh, okay, I really do think that's everything. Now
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: we talked about everything.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so, Like because I'll just I'll just
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: say this as a one last like thing. Whenever the
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Inquisitors told the Stormtroopers inform him that they're heading his way,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I literally said out loud, you son of a bitch. Yeah,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: And then when, of course you hear the breathing, I
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: was like, God, damn it.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Well, because so I said on Monday that I wasn't
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: on social media. I loved onto social media.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: You said you were spoiled. I need to know what
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: was the one.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it was Vader's appearance. I logged onto social media
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: for the literally thirty seconds and literally, you know how
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Threads has like the ghost text where you can click it.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Somebody had even just been like, all when Vader shows
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: up in episode nine, like without ghost text and everything,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: and I'm like, so, I literally like scrolled off. I
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: didn't get on social media the rest of the day.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Is literally one of the first pieces on thread that
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I saw.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Oh, and I was like, we.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Saw it coming. So I'm not like super mad about it, but.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Like the fact that we didn't want it to happen
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: and then then just got confirmed. Yeah.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And Threads, like Twitter was so hard to do spoilers,
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Threads makes it very easy to use ghost text, y'all,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Like you literally just highlighted and click ghost text. So
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: there's no reason that that person couldn't have muted what
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: they were trying to say. So, guys, next week, we're
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: covering the last bit of our Mandalorian revisiting to prep
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: fourth Mandorian Grogu releasing on May twenty first, guys were
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: in the month. It's actually happening. Star Wars is coming
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: back to theaters finally, y'all. We will be live for
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: our review on the geek Versus YouTube channel at eight
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: pm Friday, May twenty second. That's a PM Eastern, to
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: be clear, because that's important APM Eastern. We will be
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: talking about our Mandalarin and Grogu thoughts as always will
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: for like our book reviews, because obviously we haven't really
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: done a true movie review on this channel so far,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: but like our book reviews, we typically do a non
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: spoiler review. We talked about non spoiler thoughts for about
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: thirty minutes and then we'll dive into spoiler specifics, so
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: that can be what you expect. So if you have
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: if you don't get a chance to see the Mandalorin
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: and Grogu on Thursday and you want to join us
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: on Friday, you'll still be able to join for like
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: the first thirty minutes or so of the episode. We'll
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: give plenty of warnings beforehand, but we would love to
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: see you guys in the chats that just kind of
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: talking about what we expect and kind of will probably
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: end up going over Thursday box office numbers because those
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: will be available. We'll talk about final productions for the
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: weekend and stuff kind of see how we come back. So,
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: but the schedule for the month, guys, Mandalorian Season three
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: next week. Then on the twenty first, we will be
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: talking about theories and productions, final box office predictions kind
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: of thing, with the final numbers. On the twenty first,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: twenty second Mandalorian and Grog Group review, and then that
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: is the live episode on the twenty fourth, I think
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: is when I have it on the calendar, is when
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: that will go into podcast feeds, So that is when
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: you can expect the movie where you're into podcast feeds, guys.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: And then for the twenty eight there will be no
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: episode that week. We're gonna take a break and just
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: kind of chill because we're recording a Patreon episode also
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: the week that the movie releases, so it's gonna be
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: a little chaotic. Yeah, we need a little bit of
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: a break, but that is what you can expect for
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: the month of Megas. Who knows, Clay, maybe we'll drop
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: episode two of the New Jedi Order that week just
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: to kind of give them something.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and then also I do want to also remind
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: people because this is probably the best time for us
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: to do it. Next week we will do a mini review,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: yes of out Mandalorian and Grogu, which, by the way,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: I don't know if you knew this. I went ahead
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: and again I'm not entirely sure if this is a spoiler,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: but this is for the movie, and there is a
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: character here that we know about but was wearing something
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: and I was like, I didn't know that, So maybe
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: a tiny spoiler.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Okay, good to know. I'm gonna have to look now
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: because I don't know what you're talking about there.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Well, once we once we end it, if you do,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: if you want me to show you, I could show you,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: because again I don't know if it's a spoiler. I
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: don't know if it's one something that we have seen
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: in uh set photos or anything else, because the character
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: in all of the TV spots was not wearing this.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: And so yeah, and.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Just as a clarity, I think it's in general because
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: like this shot, for instance, in the coloring book is
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: from the first season where he is like hiding.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. So I was seeing a whole
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: bunch of stuff that was from the actual show. Oh
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: and then as I was just flipping through the pages,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I was like, oh, these are characters from the movie.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And then I flipped in and I was like, oh,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: there's a character here and they are wearing something that
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I didn't know necessarily was confirmed.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: But okay, we'll talk about it after we get off.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Yes, yes we will, but we will be showing off
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: a page or two that we have decided to try
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: our artistic skills on. Yeah about that. But with that, guys,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I want to thank everybody for being here and listening
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: to us. I know we yap a lot, especially when
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: we have our very strong opinions on things, so we
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: do apologize. But of course you can always find me
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: at fanboy Clay on threads and on Instagram. Go check
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: me out there. There's going to be some things that
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: are happening in the very very near future that I
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: will be announcing here very very soon, but just not
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: quite ready to do so. But yeah, just be on
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: the lookout for that. And on your feeds, Katie, what
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: about yourself, y'all.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: You can find me on most social media platforms, Katie.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Remember the show is on Blues Guy and Instagram, it's
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: at Star Wars Alliance at the eight in the world
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: is very important, don't forget it. You can slap that
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: username in front of that Gmail dot com. Sorry, I've
