- 0:00Speaker 1: Yo, it's Kevin Smiley. Check me out on the Bootleg
- 0:02Speaker 1: keV podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yo, Bootleg keV show Man. We got a special guest
- 0:09Speaker 2: in here from Okachobe, Florida, Kevin Smiley. How you doing man,
- 0:14Speaker 2: Welcome sir.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:16Speaker 2: First of all, man, I remember seeing your first song
- 0:19Speaker 2: was Paralyzed, right, sir. I remember opening my phone one
- 0:22Speaker 2: day and seeing it and then like within that whole week,
- 0:24Speaker 2: it just everybody was posting it. It was going crazy.
- 0:30Speaker 2: That was your first song.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, like ever, that first song I ever recorded. Yeah,
- 0:34Speaker 1: I've written a few, but that was like the first
- 0:36Speaker 1: real how old are you? I'm twenty now, so.
- 0:38Speaker 2: You're twenty now? So when that came out with You're nineteen, yes, sir, Yeah,
- 0:42Speaker 2: damn that's crazy man. So super dope visual by the way,
- 0:47Speaker 2: very strong. Whose idea was like, like, are you very
- 0:50Speaker 2: hands on with the whole creative process?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Not really with the visuals. That's more like my manager.
- 0:55Speaker 1: He's a bit more of a film type of guy
- 0:58Speaker 1: than you know obviously know our director, right, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 1: So that was really much pretty much.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Then give me some of your background because you know,
- 1:06Speaker 2: you make country music and it is very it's dope
- 1:10Speaker 2: you know, and I never thought i'd hear NBA Young
- 1:12Speaker 2: Boy on the countrything. You have a new song with
- 1:15Speaker 2: NBA Young Boy Free Him by the way, Yeah, called Mattador.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You brought NBA Young Boy to the country world. Just
- 1:21Speaker 2: kind of give me like a little bit of your
- 1:22Speaker 2: background in terms of like what did you grow up
- 1:24Speaker 2: listening to? How did you get into country music? Obviously,
- 1:26Speaker 2: Florida is like a it's the South, but it's like
- 1:29Speaker 2: I always tell everybody, Florida is like its own country.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a bit of like.
- 1:32Speaker 2: If you just break Florida off, like there's South Florida,
- 1:35Speaker 2: which is like its own thing, and then there's like
- 1:37Speaker 2: Central Florida, which is way different than Jacksonville. And you
- 1:41Speaker 2: know what I mean, it's like its own little ecosystem
- 1:43Speaker 2: of that's just separate from the world. So how did
- 1:46Speaker 2: you kind of grow up listening to country and like
- 1:48Speaker 2: like what got you into it?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so be from Okey Chelby, Florida. It's a cattle town,
- 1:52Speaker 1: really cow cattle, Yeah, cattle, Okay, so tons of cows,
- 1:55Speaker 1: acchual cows. Cowboys are there, yeah, yeah, actual cowboys around
- 1:59Speaker 1: and then like big fishing, like so we have a
- 2:01Speaker 1: big bass tournament that happens on Lake Okechobee. So I
- 2:06Speaker 1: grew up listening to just pretty much strictly gospel. My
- 2:08Speaker 1: dad was a pastor, so we were just listening to
- 2:11Speaker 1: a bunch of gospel music and we'd go to different churches.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I would have like what's called southern gospel, so that's
- 2:18Speaker 1: vaguely similar to country music. Yeah. And then my best
- 2:22Speaker 1: friend growing up, his parents were ranchers, so they're always
- 2:26Speaker 1: playing country around the house and in the car and
- 2:29Speaker 1: my brother we spent a lot of time with them.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So that's how I really got into listening in the country.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Then when I was like sixteen, that was COVID.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Damn, that's so crazy. Yeah, it felt like that was yesterday,
- 2:43Speaker 2: right like when I was sixteen. Then COVID.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You're twenty now it's wild gentle minute. Yeah. Yeah. So
- 2:49Speaker 1: I was just playing a bunch of two k and
- 2:51Speaker 1: I hated the playlist. I mean, after like six months
- 2:53Speaker 1: of hearing the same time, I don't want to hear
- 2:55Speaker 1: it again.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And you're stucking the house is all you got is Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So I just put some some songs in my play list,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and you know, with my dad in the past. He
- 3:02Speaker 1: didn't really want me listening to too much, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: hip hop and stuff, but everybody we need to listen
- 3:07Speaker 1: to country around town. So I just put some songs
- 3:09Speaker 1: on my playlist and they're the song in particular called
- 3:12Speaker 1: Amla by Morning because it's a legend. George Straight, he's
- 3:14Speaker 1: like the gold.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Straight's the guy man, Yo, listen, I love me some
- 3:17Speaker 2: George Straight. That what's that song? Throw? Uh just give
- 3:21Speaker 2: it away?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:23Speaker 2: That ship? What's the one? Uh uh Ocean? That's my
- 3:28Speaker 2: favorite Arizona Okay, yeah yeah, and then write this down,
- 3:32Speaker 2: great song. And my favorite Troubadour. Oh my Trouber Door
- 3:36Speaker 2: is a fucking banger.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That's that's a great song. Yeah. So yeah, So I
- 3:40Speaker 1: just put some of his songs in my playlist. Put
- 3:42Speaker 1: some you know Luke Comb's, Camee Brown, Thomas Redd, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: you know some Alan Jackson. He's a Georgia boy, one of.
- 3:48Speaker 2: My Alan Jacksons. O. G man, I remember I remember
- 3:51Speaker 2: Alan Jackson when I was a kid.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah, So I just put them on my playlist and
- 3:54Speaker 1: I started just listening to really heavy.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Then.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I've always been musical. I've been playing drums since I
- 3:59Speaker 1: was set, even getting the church.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Then I started playing guitar in the bass when I
- 4:04Speaker 1: was eleven or twelve something around there. So then I
- 4:08Speaker 1: just started posting on TikTok, just singing, singing these country songs.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Like singing like stuff that was already out.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, singing. I wasn't writing at the time. I
- 4:16Speaker 1: had a video go viral. We had like five millions
- 4:20Speaker 1: or something like that. So some producer him it was like, bro,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you can sing, but you gotta start writing your own stuff, right,
- 4:26Speaker 1: So I started doing that.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Was it harder to like put the thoughts in your
- 4:31Speaker 2: head to paper to a melody? Uh not really? Would
- 4:35Speaker 2: you like write with the guitar, Yeah, I.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Write with the guitar.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So I just kind of figure out what kind of
- 4:40Speaker 1: chords I wanted to do. Then I'll just figure out
- 4:42Speaker 1: what kind of theme I want to write to. Obviously,
- 4:45Speaker 1: my first songs are horrible. Everybody you know should.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I mean, if your first song is Paralyzed's not terrible.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Well that was so yeah. I just started doing that,
- 4:56Speaker 1: started picking up steam a little bit. Then I got
- 4:58Speaker 1: signed to my production company. Uh, flew out to Vegas
- 5:02Speaker 1: and recorded Paralyzed here in Vegas.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yes, what do you think about Vegas? Being a Florida
- 5:07Speaker 2: boy who grew up in the church life, did you
- 5:09Speaker 2: did any of those Like did you walk the strip?
- 5:13Speaker 1: No? I drove through it, so you gotta walk it. Yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: I ain't done that. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 5:18Speaker 2: But people will pass you all these cards with phone
- 5:20Speaker 2: numbers on it. Don't call the numbers.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Okay, got it, got it, got it. Thanks for the tip. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of Vegas, to be honest
- 5:26Speaker 1: with you.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I lived there for a while. I loved it,
- 5:29Speaker 2: but I'm also degenerate. I have a gambling problem.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Dana White type stuff.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Huh no, he's got a real problem.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen some of those videos with the note
- 5:40Speaker 1: boys and stuff.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Right, So you ended up we should go to Vegas
- 5:42Speaker 2: and that's where you recorded Paralyzed, Yes, sir. Nice. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Then we just started, you know, posting some uh just
- 5:49Speaker 1: videosn't me singing it, and they went viral.
- 5:52Speaker 2: How I want to know, because you put, like you said,
- 5:55Speaker 2: like how many different pieces of content did you shoot
- 5:58Speaker 2: to push that push that one song before it went viral?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Because I wanted people to understand, like, sometimes people will
- 6:04Speaker 2: post one thing and if it doesn't go crazy. They
- 6:06Speaker 2: get discouraged and then they don't put anything else up
- 6:09Speaker 2: and then they stop pushing their music.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And yeah, so I think we had we had filmed
- 6:14Speaker 1: maybe about six or seven, and it was probably like
- 6:18Speaker 1: the sixth or fifth or six that went viral. But
- 6:20Speaker 1: that's after me posting hundreds of times on my TikTok.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You know that's so.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I mean, I just people give up too soon on
- 6:28Speaker 2: their records.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Definitely. Yeah, so yeah, fine with viral. The big push
- 6:33Speaker 1: was when DJ Academics he had reposted it, and that
- 6:37Speaker 1: that kind of took it off a bit. That that
- 6:41Speaker 1: was a pretty cool moment. I started getting hit up
- 6:42Speaker 1: by you know, some of my favorite artists and stuff
- 6:44Speaker 1: like that.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Who hit you up where you were like, what the heck?
- 6:47Speaker 1: The first big one was that was crazy with Swaye.
- 6:51Speaker 2: That was cool.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I remember waking up at like six am. I think
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was. I don't remember what I was doing about it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: He's got to be right in some country swally feels
- 6:59Speaker 2: like they kind of looking at that country genre like, well, yeah,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I think I could do that.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And I've heard he's an incredible writer, so oh he
- 7:07Speaker 1: is amazing. I think he could do. So.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he's an amazing writer's a beast. He's also somehow
- 7:13Speaker 2: become very underrated over the last like four or five years. Definitely,
- 7:16Speaker 2: who else besides Swale A great guy.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Loved that kid a little dirt, So you loved all
- 7:23Speaker 1: of that stuff while also loving George Straight. Yeah, it's
- 7:28Speaker 1: so crazy because I just did this podcast and I
- 7:31Speaker 1: flew out to Portland to do this podcast with this guy,
- 7:33Speaker 1: nam Phil Becker, who's the head of a radio company
- 7:36Speaker 1: called Alpha Media.
- 7:37Speaker 2: They own one hundreds of radio stations, and we were
- 7:40Speaker 2: talking to he wanted me to come out there and
- 7:41Speaker 2: do a podcast. The theme of it was this Country
- 7:44Speaker 2: the New hip Hop, And I didn't necessarily say it was,
- 7:48Speaker 2: but I did say that there's so many correlations between
- 7:51Speaker 2: the two worlds, right, Like if you think about like
- 7:54Speaker 2: hip hop, like like I like on the West Coast,
- 7:56Speaker 2: we got low riders, but like the country, they got
- 7:58Speaker 2: their trucks. You know what I'm saying, a lot of
- 8:00Speaker 2: music about women, a lot of music about partying. And
- 8:06Speaker 2: now with the Internet, I feel like, you know, when
- 8:11Speaker 2: I was growing up, like you, we either in hip
- 8:14Speaker 2: hop or you were into like it was really like
- 8:16Speaker 2: you really when I was a kid, I was never
- 8:19Speaker 2: in the country. I barely got into the country more
- 8:20Speaker 2: recently because of Jelly Ropes. I've been friends with Jelly
- 8:23Speaker 2: for like twelve years. Yeah, and so I would put
- 8:27Speaker 2: his stuff on and then other shit would start playing.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, this country shit ain't too bad. But
- 8:33Speaker 2: I was saying, like the genre barriers are gone now
- 8:36Speaker 2: because like you might open your phone and like, like
- 8:40Speaker 2: you said, academics posted your shit, which is country, right,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and then you know, if somebody's into dark, they could
- 8:47Speaker 2: also be into Morgan Wallen. I mean, look, they have
- 8:50Speaker 2: two songs.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Again, great songs.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's like I just feel like the whole,
- 8:54Speaker 2: like the world seemed to be blending together. The fan
- 8:57Speaker 2: bases are. I mean, obviously there's still people who aren't
- 8:59Speaker 2: going to listen country, who aren't going to listen to
- 9:01Speaker 2: hip hop on each side, but it does feel like,
- 9:04Speaker 2: you know, more than ever, there's just people just are
- 9:07Speaker 2: music fans. Again. It's like, yo, if it's country, it's country.
- 9:10Speaker 2: If it's hip hop, it's hip hop, and people are
- 9:12Speaker 2: doing songs together. You see people jumping genres now post Malones.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Dude just did his ship. Yeah, I mean Jelly. I
- 9:19Speaker 2: knew Jelly when he was like an underground rapper, you know,
- 9:22Speaker 2: like I DJ when Jelly, When me and Jelly first link,
- 9:25Speaker 2: he was doing like one hundred people at a fucking
- 9:27Speaker 2: show Saint Petersburg, Florida.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And he decided his new tour is stadiums.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And no it starts I think it starts tonight. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 2: he's It's tour starts tonight. So yeah, it's just crazy
- 9:40Speaker 2: to see. Like, just like you know, at the end
- 9:42Speaker 2: of the day, good music, s music, and the other
- 9:43Speaker 2: dope thing I think about some of the newer country
- 9:45Speaker 2: that I've gotten into is it's like pain driven, Like
- 9:48Speaker 2: I love like Tyler Childers, Oh my goodness, yeah, oh my.
- 9:53Speaker 1: God, he's good.
- 9:55Speaker 2: He's amazing and I just got you know who put
- 9:58Speaker 2: me on him. Was that Mexicano Tal. Yeah, Mexicano t
- 10:02Speaker 2: was like, yo, listening to Tyler children He has a
- 10:04Speaker 2: song called White House Road, which is fire. It's about
- 10:06Speaker 2: him getting as high as the grocery bill and doing cocaine.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It's amazing. But like this ship is very I'm like,
- 10:13Speaker 2: this is a dope ship.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Great songwriting, that's what I love about country, the songwriting,
- 10:18Speaker 1: storytelling for sure, it's great.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's super dope. So for you, like, that's
- 10:23Speaker 2: that's pretty cool that you were able to bring in
- 10:26Speaker 2: a chopper or not chopper rather NB a young boy.
- 10:28Speaker 2: How did you get NBA boys attention?
- 10:30Speaker 1: Like?
- 10:30Speaker 2: How did because I wouldn't saw him in Utah. That yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 2: super great guy but very like you know, he's literally
- 10:39Speaker 2: before he went into jail, he was. He's at the house,
- 10:41Speaker 2: he's recording, and he's he can't leave. So how did
- 10:43Speaker 2: you get that done?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Just their lawyers? Yeah, yeah, my lord knows him well,
- 10:48Speaker 1: so so did you guys chop it up at all?
- 10:50Speaker 1: I've never talked to him. Wow. Yeah, I'd love to.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Talk to him, but obviously you got to write him
- 10:55Speaker 2: now man. Yeah, he probably would appreciate the letter probably, Yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 2: did you uh listen to that? A lot of young boy.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I want to say a ton, but a definitely good amount.
- 11:05Speaker 2: It feels like that's your your generation.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Stupid. Yeah, especially.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Everybody who's like seventeen or eighteen, like NBA young boys
- 11:13Speaker 2: there Tupac. It's kind of crazy.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And then in Florida, especially where I'm from, a lot
- 11:17Speaker 1: of people listen to him when I was like in
- 11:18Speaker 1: middle school, high school.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Kodak Oh, Kodaks I love in Florida Kodaks to go.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it's like him and like the New Goats Roadway.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But like, yeah, I lived in Florida when Kodak Black
- 11:30Speaker 2: first came out and I never seen no shit like that.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Kodak Black had Florida in a chokehold.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah definitely, yeah, yeah yeah, as he said, Rod Wave
- 11:38Speaker 1: dudes in my hometown, they go crazy.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Like if rod Wave did a country collab, it would
- 11:44Speaker 2: be so good because he's already doing like he first
- 11:48Speaker 2: of all, he loves like a Dell. He loves so
- 11:50Speaker 2: many different like genres of music. But if I heard
- 11:51Speaker 2: like rod Waved like a collab with like Zach Bryant
- 11:54Speaker 2: or something, that shit would go crazy. Yeah, because he's
- 11:58Speaker 2: doing that like he's singing.
- 12:00Speaker 1: He's an actual singer. So yeah, it could work. It
- 12:02Speaker 1: would be pretty cool.
- 12:03Speaker 2: So what's it been like for you? Like going viral
- 12:06Speaker 2: so quick? Is it hard to adjust? And okay, now
- 12:10Speaker 2: we're viral. Now everybody's looking at you. Now you got
- 12:13Speaker 2: to make records because that your your your team is
- 12:17Speaker 2: just saying that you that happened unexpectedly maybe, I mean,
- 12:20Speaker 2: obviously the goals to blow up, right, Yeah, but you're
- 12:22Speaker 2: you don't expect it to happen to what happens? Now,
- 12:25Speaker 2: you got to make some more music.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta go to work. I've been fortunate so
- 12:30Speaker 1: the people that I've been working with. I've been working
- 12:32Speaker 1: with a lot of the guys that like write for
- 12:34Speaker 1: uh Luke Holmes and and Morgan Walling, a lot of
- 12:38Speaker 1: guys that big Loud, which is uh yeah, they're right
- 12:41Speaker 1: for Morgan. So I've been working with a lot of
- 12:43Speaker 1: those guys and they're they're incredible. They've been helping me
- 12:46Speaker 1: figure out what kind of what way I want to go,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and and and just learn about songwriting because then i've
- 12:53Speaker 1: been working in Nashville, everything is about the song. Yeah,
- 12:56Speaker 1: for sure, everything's about the song. So they've been helping me.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I've been really fortunate, and I've been I've been picking
- 13:01Speaker 1: up pretty good. You know, I write or co write
- 13:04Speaker 1: all my records.
- 13:05Speaker 2: What's it like going to Nashville. It's very like I
- 13:08Speaker 2: always tell people, It's like, you know, we always in
- 13:11Speaker 2: the hip hop world, we think in New York, Atlanta
- 13:12Speaker 2: and La Right, But Nashville is like the only place
- 13:16Speaker 2: that matters in the country world.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Nashville and Austin, Texas. That's about it.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Austin's come. I didn't know Austin was on the com up.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But it's just so crazy because Nashville's like this. It's
- 13:24Speaker 2: like it's literally the entire music industry the country is there.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, all on music rowe pretty much. Yeah, it's cool,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but honestly is cool. I like the way that they
- 13:33Speaker 1: work in Nashville. Like you go to the studio at
- 13:36Speaker 1: like eleven, you're done by five, and everybody goes home
- 13:40Speaker 1: or goes to the bar or whatever.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Nah hip hop, man, it ain't like that.
- 13:43Speaker 1: No.
- 13:44Speaker 2: No, I've been in studio for like fourteen hours. Oh
- 13:47Speaker 2: we wow, waiting for a feature. Remember when we were
- 13:50Speaker 2: trying to get that Tory Lanes where we were hanging
- 13:51Speaker 2: out Tory Lanez in the studio all fucking day, just
- 13:53Speaker 2: waiting for the drop of verse for my artists.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Was he was he there or was he just like
- 13:58Speaker 1: not writing.
- 13:58Speaker 2: On and off? It was. It's like, you know, like
- 14:00Speaker 2: hip hop sessions, they can either be very productive or
- 14:03Speaker 2: they could be very like social. Okay, a lot of
- 14:06Speaker 2: drugs we need people coming in and now maybe a
- 14:11Speaker 2: jewelry guy pulls up, open the suitcase with a bunch
- 14:13Speaker 2: of like, yeah, it happens. By the way, if that
- 14:16Speaker 2: ever happens to you, if the jeweler ever comes to
- 14:19Speaker 2: your studio with a suitcase, he's fucking you over where
- 14:22Speaker 2: he All those jewelers that come to studios, they're all
- 14:27Speaker 2: fucking scam artists. Not that the jewelry's fake, but they're
- 14:30Speaker 2: over Yeah, charging everybody d do not buy.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Well, I'm heppy. I'm on this show man getting good tips.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't see strike me as the jewelry guy.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I love jewelry. Oh I didn't get like that one day. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 1: just a little Yeah, it's just from like the Golden Shop.
- 14:44Speaker 1: This ain't none serious.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but one day.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I love jewelry.
- 14:48Speaker 2: So you'd get like a chain of the big penditt.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh maybe not a big penditt. I like like tennis
- 14:54Speaker 1: chains and cubans. I'm not really a big pendit guy.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But I love watches.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean watch It is like you can
- 15:00Speaker 2: have a really expensive watch, but it looked like modest. Yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you don't want to get the bus down, never to
- 15:07Speaker 2: rob me. You know, yeah, you rob me.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You know you're getting messed uff on those diamonds too.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I was gonna ask you, what do your parents think
- 15:14Speaker 2: about everything that's happening now.
- 15:17Speaker 1: That I'm kind of picking up Steve there obviously super happy.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I mean when I first started, it was it was
- 15:24Speaker 1: definitely scary.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Were they like a little you know, like like suspect
- 15:29Speaker 2: on you doing music at first? Yeah? Yeah?
- 15:32Speaker 1: And then you know, when I signed to my production company,
- 15:34Speaker 1: that was kind of a crazy situation. I mean I
- 15:37Speaker 1: had never been on a flight before, and then I
- 15:40Speaker 1: flew to Vegas. They're like, so you never know what
- 15:42Speaker 1: he's gonna you know who this person is.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Even go to Sin City, they're gonna, you know, hey,
- 15:48Speaker 2: man in the South, they'll be hearing some crazy shit
- 15:49Speaker 2: about the music in distry. Oh yeah, they're gonna sacrifice
- 15:51Speaker 2: you in a room full of just crazy ship. Let
- 15:55Speaker 2: me be careful.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah. So they were definitely nervous, But everything's pretty good.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Nice.
- 16:03Speaker 1: You know, I'm always talking to my mom and my grandma,
- 16:07Speaker 1: you know, letting them know what's going on. I live
- 16:09Speaker 1: with my mom and grandma right now in West Palm Beach. Uh,
- 16:12Speaker 1: So that's cool.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Have you been to uh Mar al Lago. Isn't that
- 16:17Speaker 2: in West Palm Beach.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's in Palm Beach.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so not West Palm I mean it's it's
- 16:21Speaker 2: like they call that like.
- 16:22Speaker 1: The Florida White House pretty much. Yeah, yeah, it's crazy.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Right now, Palm Beach is pretty much on lockdown because
- 16:29Speaker 1: jumps in town.
- 16:30Speaker 2: So when Trump comes to town, there's the whole city
- 16:33Speaker 2: like it's.
- 16:33Speaker 1: On lockdown, like that area of Palm Beach.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Have you seen his motorcade before?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Like no, I've never I've seen it. I've seen his
- 16:40Speaker 1: plane at the airport, but that's it.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, it's crazy, Like, uh I heard Palm
- 16:45Speaker 2: Beaches first of all, very hell of people retired there.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a retirement town. Yeah, lot of you
- 16:51Speaker 1: got by. Yeah, if you got big money with any.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Amount of super wealth, there's also super poverty. I'm sure
- 16:58Speaker 2: outskirts probably Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, once you over the bridge, because it's it's like,
- 17:02Speaker 1: what's Palm Beach and you go over a bridge and
- 17:04Speaker 1: it's Palm Beach, Pump Beaches, the island. So they kind
- 17:07Speaker 1: of if you ain't got that, kind of kick you off.
- 17:10Speaker 2: What what your parents wanted you to do if you
- 17:13Speaker 2: weren't doing music where they're trying to push you into
- 17:15Speaker 2: a certain field.
- 17:17Speaker 1: U not not really just wanted me to kind of
- 17:19Speaker 1: get a job or what.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Would you have done or what did you want to
- 17:22Speaker 2: do if you didn't work out what.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I wanted to do? Shoot, I don't really know. I
- 17:27Speaker 1: wanted to be actually, when I was younger, I wanted
- 17:28Speaker 1: to be a YouTuber of course. Yeah everybody nobody wants
- 17:33Speaker 1: to do hard labor, you know.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where we're screwed if we go to war.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, everybody wants to be a streamers.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, I wanted to be a YouTuber.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Hey, but there is something to be said about call
- 17:46Speaker 2: of duty. There's some hand eye coordination there that you know,
- 17:51Speaker 2: might help them. I don't know, maybe, but in China
- 17:54Speaker 2: they ain't got no fucking streamers and YouTubers. They they
- 17:57Speaker 2: got that, They're right. Yeah, what YouTube channels did you
- 18:03Speaker 2: like growing up?
- 18:04Speaker 1: My favorite was Casey knistat case Yeah, Casey Knice, that
- 18:08Speaker 1: was good, Casey Nice. That was like the best videoographer
- 18:13Speaker 1: on YouTube.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Apparently in New York. What was he doing?
- 18:17Speaker 1: He was just fumbing this voggin his life.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Log life so you like the nel boys.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I heard you say, yeah, boys, I love Nick never
- 18:24Speaker 1: seeing those dudes.
- 18:25Speaker 2: They're cool. The O. G. Nelk stuff was the best.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what one of my older brothers, he would
- 18:32Speaker 1: watch that stuff like when that it was like Jesse, Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 2: And they were pranking people. And then when they started
- 18:39Speaker 2: to make real money, that prank's got super elaborate, yah
- 18:42Speaker 2: and crazy, like they did this. Do you ever see
- 18:44Speaker 2: the prank where they it was like the fake bigfoot prank. Dude,
- 18:49Speaker 2: they did this fool They went to like Oregon or
- 18:52Speaker 2: Washington State where like oh Okay, and they like found
- 18:57Speaker 2: like this, they like hung out with this big foot guy.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It was like a big foot, Like this guy spent
- 19:02Speaker 2: his whole life hunting big foot. Yeah, And so they
- 19:06Speaker 2: pranked this dude and they put like a bigfoot in
- 19:09Speaker 2: the forest while they were rhythim and this dude started
- 19:12Speaker 2: freaking out because he was like he finally found bigfoot.
- 19:14Speaker 2: But it was a dude in the suit.
- 19:16Speaker 1: That's tough man.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Honestly, Honestly, it was funny because once they found bigfoot,
- 19:21Speaker 2: then the NLK boys had like the fake FBI and
- 19:24Speaker 2: CIA pulled up with like a helicopter and kidnap everybody
- 19:28Speaker 2: because they don't want anybody. It is I don't know
- 19:30Speaker 2: about it was one of the best pranks of all.

- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Everybody I've heard talk about him like they have
- 20:49Speaker 1: nothing but good things to say about him. Yeah, they've
- 20:53Speaker 1: been some, you know, smaller artists like Chase Matthews. Uh,
- 20:57Speaker 1: we hung out a bit.
- 20:58Speaker 2: There's this one dude, what's his name? He's got a
- 21:00Speaker 2: song called We Ride, We Ride?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Oh, I know who that is?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Is it?

- 21:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the song's big, going like Spotify. So that's crazy
- 21:22Speaker 1: you only have sixty thousand. I got sixty thousand country
- 21:25Speaker 1: is booming.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Man, Uh, would you would you ever do anything outside
- 21:29Speaker 2: of the country, like sonically, Like, would you ever do

- 21:34Speaker 1: The it's been like the most right now, the most
- 21:38Speaker 1: pop or urban thing I have. It's a song with
- 21:41Speaker 1: young Boy. Yeah, then I got somebody.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Would you do some gospel ship?
- 21:45Speaker 1: I would probably in like within it, probably a little later,
- 21:49Speaker 1: once I really established like myself in the genre, probably
- 21:53Speaker 1: like a year or two, I'd probably do some gospel stuff.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I feel like gospel music we need better people making it.
- 22:00Speaker 1: H hmm.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Some of the gospel music I'll be hearing. It's like
- 22:05Speaker 2: if somebody can make a bunch of Kanye Jesus Walks,
- 22:07Speaker 2: that'd be great.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, such a great record.
- 22:10Speaker 2: And it's technically a Christian raper, so yeah, you know,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I like, like we should all try to like not
- 22:15Speaker 2: we because I'm atheist, respectfully, but if I was like
- 22:19Speaker 2: a Christian rapper, I'd be like, how do we do
- 22:21Speaker 2: Jesus Walks? But like, you know, we don't want to, Like,
- 22:23Speaker 2: you know, sometimes I feel like the Christian rap can
- 22:25Speaker 2: be a little preachy. Have you heard of Miles Minnick
- 22:29Speaker 2: I have for the name. He's a Christian rapper. He's dope.
- 22:31Speaker 2: He's actually dope. I interviewed him. He's actually really cool.
