Speaker 1: Two questions regarding the financial possible war back during the
0:04
Speaker 1: Persian Goal for nineteen ninety nineteen ninety one Arab countries
0:08
Speaker 1: hey for the vast majority of the cost of the war, Kuwait,
0:12
Speaker 1: Saudi Arabia, the UAE. Who's paying for the cost of
0:16
Speaker 1: this war? Will those Arab countries step up to do this?
0:19
Speaker 2: Then?
0:19
Speaker 3: Well, I think it's something the President would be quite
0:21
Speaker 3: interested in calling them to do. I will get ahead
0:24
Speaker 3: of him on that, but certainly it's an idea that
0:27
Speaker 3: I know that he has in something that I think
0:29
Speaker 3: you'll hear more from him on.
0:31
Speaker 4: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
0:34
Speaker 5: Good Tuesday morning. Nice have you with us on the
0:37
Speaker 5: forty seven Morning Up. Baby, We've got two big stories
0:39
Speaker 5: for you this morning. First up, the President and I
0:42
Speaker 5: says of America has new statements on Iran and it
0:45
Speaker 5: can change everything overnight. Plus Secretary of State Marco Rubio,
0:51
Speaker 5: he's now on record talking about what's next, including the
0:54
Speaker 5: straight up Hormuz. But before we get to that, I
0:57
Speaker 5: want to take a moment and ask you to help
1:00
Speaker 5: the people in Israel. With my friends at the IFCJ
1:03
Speaker 5: working right now on the ground for all those in need.
1:07
Speaker 5: A sacred season is approaching Passover, when we remember God's deliverance,
1:12
Speaker 5: the night he brought his people out of bondage and
1:15
Speaker 5: into freedom. This year, many of God's people will observe
1:19
Speaker 5: in darkness under the shadow of war across Israel. Red
1:23
Speaker 5: alert sirens pierced the air, Families run to shelters with
1:28
Speaker 5: seconds to spare, elderly men and women fear they'll be
1:31
Speaker 5: left behind, and parents are comforting their frightened children as
1:36
Speaker 5: explosions shake the night. Sleeplessness and uncertainty have become daily
1:41
Speaker 5: life in Israel, and Passover reminds us that God hears
1:45
Speaker 5: the cries of his people and answers with love and compassion.
1:49
Speaker 5: And that's why the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews
1:53
Speaker 5: is on the ground in Israel right now. They're providing
1:57
Speaker 5: food and emergency supplies, equipping bomb shelters, and caring for
2:01
Speaker 5: elderly Holocaust survivors. Just as is people once cried out
2:06
Speaker 5: for deliverance. Vulnerable Israelis need your help today with your
2:11
Speaker 5: generous Passover gift. It shows you stand with God's people,
2:15
Speaker 5: and if you are ready to stand with the people
2:17
Speaker 5: of Israel. Then stand with the IFCJ and help. You
2:21
Speaker 5: can call them eight eight eight four eight eight IFCJ
2:26
Speaker 5: that's eight eight eight four eight eight IFCJ to rush
2:31
Speaker 5: your gift right now, or you can give online at
2:34
Speaker 5: IFCJ dot org. That's if CJ dot org. It's the
2:40
Speaker 5: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right.
2:43
Speaker 2: Now, story number one.
2:44
Speaker 5: Welcome back. It is the Ben Ferguson Show. It is
2:47
Speaker 5: nice to have you with us. Donald Trump has come
2:49
Speaker 5: out talking about who he's talking to in Iran, the
2:53
Speaker 5: new regime they are in place, and the President also
2:56
Speaker 5: making it very clear if they do not agree with
2:58
Speaker 5: the negotiations with the America, we will blow up their
3:01
Speaker 5: power infrastructure easily. They better make a deal. President Trump
3:07
Speaker 5: suggesting in a message on Monday morning that a new
3:11
Speaker 5: and more reasonable regime has taken over Iran and is
3:14
Speaker 5: talking with Washington, DC. He warned yet again he is
3:18
Speaker 5: willing to obliterate Iran's energy infrastructure his exact words, if
3:22
Speaker 5: the talks do not lead to a durable agreement. Trump
3:26
Speaker 5: made the declaration a message on his website True Social
3:30
Speaker 5: What remains of the Iranian government after the elimination of
3:33
Speaker 5: the Supreme leader has repeatedly denied Trump's claim that it
3:37
Speaker 5: is in conversations with the American government, while also stating
3:41
Speaker 5: that it has responded to America's proposals, which would be
3:45
Speaker 5: impossible without a conversation. Now, President Trump smiling through that
3:50
Speaker 5: in a statement saying that not only is America pursuing
3:54
Speaker 5: regime change in Iran, but the regime change has already happened,
3:58
Speaker 5: saying the United States of Americas andious discussions with a
4:01
Speaker 5: new and more reasonable regime to end our military operations
4:06
Speaker 5: in Iran. He followed up that comment with a threat.
4:10
Speaker 5: Great progress has been made, but if for any reason
4:13
Speaker 5: a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be,
4:17
Speaker 5: and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately open for business,
4:21
Speaker 5: we will conclude our lovely stay in Iran by blowing
4:24
Speaker 5: up and completely obliterating all of their electric generating plants,
4:29
Speaker 5: oil wells, and carg island, and possibly all desalization plants,
4:36
Speaker 5: which we have purposely not yet touched quote unquote. The
4:41
Speaker 5: President went on to say this will be in retribution
4:44
Speaker 5: for our many soldiers and others that Iran has butchered
4:48
Speaker 5: and killed over the regime's forty seven year reign of terror.
4:52
Speaker 5: Thank you for your attention to this matter. Now President
4:56
Speaker 5: Trump is seriously weighing also a military operation. We're being
4:59
Speaker 5: told to extract nearly one thousand pounds of highly enriched
5:03
Speaker 5: uranium from Iran. And While the Iranian government has not
5:07
Speaker 5: responded directly to Trump's statement at press time, the Foreign
5:11
Speaker 5: Ministry spokesman confirmed on Monday that Iran had received and
5:16
Speaker 5: was contemplating negotiation messages from the United States. At the
5:21
Speaker 5: same time, that individual also dispaired the proposals as being unrealistic, illogical,
5:27
Speaker 5: and excessive, but his statement nonetheless confirmed the existence of
5:32
Speaker 5: some form of communication between individuals and power in Iran
5:36
Speaker 5: and the White House, specifically, Donald Trump quote, our position
5:41
Speaker 5: is clear. We are under military aggression. Therefore, all our
5:46
Speaker 5: efforts and strengths are focused on defending ourselves, according to
5:50
Speaker 5: translation by the Saudi outlet. There the government of also
5:54
Speaker 5: Pakistan claimed last week that it was mediating talks between
5:58
Speaker 5: America and Iran, handing Tehran a fifteen point proposal from
6:03
Speaker 5: the White House. Trump shortly thereafter claimed that Iran quote
6:07
Speaker 5: gave us most to the points, and that he would
6:09
Speaker 5: be asking for a couple of other things. The president
6:13
Speaker 5: also announced that he would not target any energy infrastructure
6:16
Speaker 5: Iran through April the sixth, that would be Easter Sunday.
6:20
Speaker 5: Talks are ongoing and despite erroneous statements to the contrary
6:24
Speaker 5: by the fake news media and others, they are going
6:26
Speaker 5: very well. The president said, thank you for your attention
6:29
Speaker 5: to this matter. He also claimed that Iran was begging
6:33
Speaker 5: for a deal, contrary to the declarations in Iranian state media,
6:38
Speaker 5: clearly to keep the people in Iran in line. Also
6:42
Speaker 5: indicating the existence of talks and those talks actually being
6:45
Speaker 5: very real, was the head of the International Atomic Energy
6:49
Speaker 5: Agency known as the IAEA, who told Italian media on
6:53
Speaker 5: Wednesday that talks about the Iran war would take place
6:57
Speaker 5: in Pakistan as early as this past weekend. Another example
7:02
Speaker 5: of confirmation. Three weeks of war have left their mark,
7:06
Speaker 5: which caused a lot of damage affected Iran's economic, energy
7:11
Speaker 5: and productive infrastructure. This will make the conversation quote a
7:15
Speaker 5: little bit different now. Pakistan did host talks on the
7:19
Speaker 5: Iran war this weekend, but reports indicated that neither Iran
7:23
Speaker 5: nor the United States of America quote participated. Instead, the
7:27
Speaker 5: event offered an opportunity for Pakistan to discuss the war
7:31
Speaker 5: with officials from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as well as Egypt. Now,
7:35
Speaker 5: according to the Egyptian Foreign Minister, the objective of the
7:38
Speaker 5: talks is to de escalate tension and encouraging negotiating process
7:42
Speaker 5: between Iran the United States of America to spare the
7:45
Speaker 5: region comprehensive chaos. The Pakistani government also added that while
7:51
Speaker 5: Iran did not directly participate, Pakistani officials had a phone
7:55
Speaker 5: call with the Iranian Foreign minister to discuss Tehran's position. Now,
8:00
Speaker 5: most of Iran's response to the current hostilities by the
8:03
Speaker 5: United States has been to targets its neighboring countries with
8:07
Speaker 5: missile and drone attacks, including Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Other
8:10
Speaker 5: countries arena his bomb include Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Israel, Cyprus.
8:17
Speaker 5: Iranian officials have claimed the strikes are intended to target
8:20
Speaker 5: American and Israeli sites, but in reality they are targeting
8:24
Speaker 5: a variety of civilian sites instead, including energy facilities in
8:29
Speaker 5: many of the Gulf states.
8:31
Speaker 2: Next story number two, which brings us to.
8:33
Speaker 5: A one on one interview done on Good Morning America
8:36
Speaker 5: on Monday morning with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. I
8:40
Speaker 5: think it's incredibly important you hear what Marco had to say.
8:44
Speaker 5: Take a listen to the interview.
8:45
Speaker 6: Woubio, mister secretary, thank you for joining us this morning.
8:48
Speaker 6: Let's talk about the President's comments overnight talking about taking
8:51
Speaker 6: the oil on carg Island. How would he do this?
8:54
Speaker 6: Why would he do this? Won't it take ground troops?
8:57
Speaker 7: Well, first of all, it's important to remember the objectives
8:59
Speaker 7: of this off from the very beginning where we were
9:01
Speaker 7: going to We are destroying Iran's navy. We are destroying
9:05
Speaker 7: their ability to their missile launchers by a significant percentage.
9:08
Speaker 7: We're going to wipe out their defense industrial base, meaning
9:10
Speaker 7: their ability to make new missiles and new drones in
9:13
Speaker 7: the future. Because oppose a great threat to the region.
9:16
Speaker 7: This Iran that you're seeing now, this is Iran at
9:18
Speaker 7: its weakest point. Imagine them two years from now if
9:21
Speaker 7: they had thousands of more missiles, the thousands of more
9:23
Speaker 7: missile launchers and factories to make even more. That was
9:26
Speaker 7: an unacceptable risk. It needed to be addressed, and President
9:29
Speaker 7: Trump is addressing it now. They are making threats about
9:32
Speaker 7: controlling the Horrmue Straits and perpetuity creating a tolling system
9:36
Speaker 7: and the like. That's not going to be allowed to happen.
9:38
Speaker 7: And the President has a number of options available to
9:41
Speaker 7: him if he so chooses to prevent that from happening.
9:43
Speaker 2: It happening.
9:44
Speaker 7: Obviously, I'm not going to discuss what those options are,
9:46
Speaker 7: and we're not going to discuss military tactics. The Department
9:50
Speaker 7: of War would be in charge of those things. I'd
9:52
Speaker 7: refer you to them, but obviously they're not going to
9:53
Speaker 7: discuss it with you either. But there is a way
9:56
Speaker 7: forward here to achieve our objectives. We are going to
9:58
Speaker 7: achieve our objectives or weeks, not months.
10:01
Speaker 6: Well, let's talk about taking the oil, because the President
10:03
Speaker 6: laid out that objective last night, and taking the oil
10:06
Speaker 6: will take ground troops, won't it.
10:08
Speaker 7: Well, again, the Iranians are threatening that they're going to
10:11
Speaker 7: set up some permanent system in the Straits of Hormuz
10:13
Speaker 7: where they get to decide who goes through international waterways.
10:16
Speaker 2: That will never be allowed to happen. By the way,
10:18
Speaker 2: the rest.
10:18
Speaker 7: Of the world should take note of that they have
10:20
Speaker 7: more at stake there than we do. We get very
10:22
Speaker 7: little of our energy in this country coming through the
10:24
Speaker 7: Straits of hormones.
10:25
Speaker 2: The rest of the world gets a lot more.
10:27
Speaker 7: That said, the President has several options at his disposal,
10:31
Speaker 7: and the Department of Wars preparing optionality for the President
10:34
Speaker 7: for this and various other contingencies that might arise. That's
10:37
Speaker 7: what always needs to happen situations like this. But what
10:40
Speaker 7: I want the American people and the people watching this
10:42
Speaker 7: broadcast to know is that fundamentally what this is about
10:45
Speaker 7: is the destruction of their air force, which has been
10:47
Speaker 7: largely achieved, the destruction of their navy, which has been
10:50
Speaker 7: largely achieved, the destruction of their factories that they make
10:53
Speaker 7: all these weapons with, which is we're well on our
10:56
Speaker 7: way to achieving. And a substantial reduction in the number
10:59
Speaker 7: of missile launchers that they have so that they cannot
11:01
Speaker 7: continue to threaten their neighbors in the future. All of
11:03
Speaker 7: those objectives are being met ahead honor, ahead of schedule,
11:07
Speaker 7: and should be able to achieve in a matter of weeks.
11:10
Speaker 6: As you're speaking, though, the President is expanding the objectives.
11:13
Speaker 6: Just a couple of minutes ago, he put out his
11:16
Speaker 6: post on True Social saying that we're in discussions now
11:19
Speaker 6: with a new and more reasonable regime in Iran. But
11:21
Speaker 6: he also added that if those discussions don't yield fruit,
11:25
Speaker 6: the United States will blow up and completelybliterate all of
11:28
Speaker 6: their electric generating plants, all their oil wells and carg island,
11:32
Speaker 6: and possibly all desalinization plants, which we have purposely not
11:35
Speaker 6: yet touched, is what he said. That's a great expansion
11:38
Speaker 6: of the objectives.
11:39
Speaker 7: Well, well, I think the first point the president makes
11:41
Speaker 7: is he prefers diplomacy. As I said, those efforts are nascent.
11:45
Speaker 7: There is messages being ready laid back and forth, some
11:47
Speaker 7: conversations going on, including through intermediaries, and he always prefers that. Look,
11:51
Speaker 7: if the Iranian regime had come forward at any point
11:54
Speaker 7: in the past and said we're going to walk away
11:56
Speaker 7: from our nuclear ambitions, We're going to do nuclear energy
11:59
Speaker 7: the way every other country in the world, primarily almost
12:02
Speaker 7: every other country in the world does it, and that
12:03
Speaker 7: is through a peaceful means in which you bring in
12:05
Speaker 7: the fuel and it's.
12:06
Speaker 2: Supervised and so forth.
12:08
Speaker 7: We're going to stop supporting terrorist groups across the region.
12:11
Speaker 2: Look at this region.
12:12
Speaker 7: Every single terrorist group in this region has a link
12:14
Speaker 7: to the Iranian regime, every single one. The Huthis hes
12:18
Speaker 7: belah Hamas the Shia militias that are attacking everyone out
12:21
Speaker 7: of a rock, Every single one of these groups, and
12:23
Speaker 7: all the destabilization in this region tracks directly back to
12:27
Speaker 7: the Iranian regime. Those things have to be addressed. And
12:29
Speaker 7: if Iron had been willing to address to us in
12:31
Speaker 7: the past, we wouldn't be having this interview on this
12:33
Speaker 7: topic right now. Their refusal to do so, and they're
12:36
Speaker 7: continuing move towards one day acquiring a nuclear capability. These
12:40
Speaker 7: people are lunatics. They are insane. They are religious zelots
12:44
Speaker 7: who can never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon
12:46
Speaker 7: because they have an apocalyptic vision of the future. And
12:48
Speaker 7: all of their neighbors know that, by the way, which
12:50
Speaker 7: is why all of their neighbors have been supportive of
12:52
Speaker 7: the efforts work.
12:53
Speaker 6: You call them lunatics with the President just had this
12:56
Speaker 6: post where he says, we're in discussions with a new
12:58
Speaker 6: and more reasonable regime. Let me try to pain you
13:00
Speaker 6: down on that. Who is this new and more reasonable
13:03
Speaker 6: regime is The United States is in direct contact with them?
13:06
Speaker 7: Well, I'm not going to disclose to you who those
13:08
Speaker 7: people are because if probably would get them in trouble
13:09
Speaker 7: with some other groups.
13:10
Speaker 2: Of people inside of Iran.
13:11
Speaker 7: Look, there's some fractures going on there internally, and at
13:14
Speaker 7: the end of the day, I think that if there
13:16
Speaker 7: are people in Iran who now, given everything that's happened,
13:19
Speaker 7: are willing to move in a different direction for their country,
13:21
Speaker 7: that would be great. Imagine in Iran that and instead
13:24
Speaker 7: of spending their wealth billions of dollars supporting terrorists or weapons,
13:28
Speaker 7: had spent that money helping the people of Iran, you
13:30
Speaker 7: have a much different country.
13:31
Speaker 2: So we are.
13:32
Speaker 7: Always hopeful that that would exist over there. It's unfortunate.
13:35
Speaker 7: The people of Iran are incredible people. The people who
13:37
Speaker 7: lead them this clerical regime that is the problem. And
13:40
Speaker 7: if there are new people now in charge who have
13:42
Speaker 7: a more reasonable vision of the future, that would be
13:44
Speaker 7: good news for us, for them, for the entire world.
13:47
Speaker 7: But we also have to be prepared for the possibility,
13:50
Speaker 7: maybe even the probability that that is not the case.
13:53
Speaker 6: But the reston said they are. Is that the case
13:55
Speaker 6: or is it not? I'm just trying to get some
13:56
Speaker 6: clarity on that.
13:58
Speaker 7: Well, what I mean is, yeah, look, so you have
13:59
Speaker 7: people that are saying some of the right things privately.
14:02
Speaker 7: Obviously they're not going to put it out in press releases,
14:04
Speaker 7: and what they say to you or put out there
14:05
Speaker 7: for the world doesn't necessarily reflect what they're saying in
14:08
Speaker 7: our conversations. But at the end of the day, we
14:10
Speaker 7: have to see if these people end up being the
14:12
Speaker 7: ones in charge, seeing if they're the ones that have
14:14
Speaker 7: the power to deliver.
14:15
Speaker 2: We're going to test it. We are hopeful that that's
14:17
Speaker 2: the case.
14:17
Speaker 7: There are clearly people They are talking to us in
14:19
Speaker 7: ways that previous people in charge and Iran have not
14:23
Speaker 7: spoken to us in the past. Some of the things
14:25
Speaker 7: they're willing to do, some of the things they're saying
14:27
Speaker 7: they're willing to do.
14:28
Speaker 2: Obviously they have to go do it.
14:29
Speaker 7: We're going to test that proposition very strongly because we
14:32
Speaker 7: always prefer to settle things through negotiation and diplomacy, but
14:36
Speaker 7: we also have to be prepared for the fact that
14:38
Speaker 7: that effort might fail. That we are dealing with a
14:40
Speaker 7: forty seven year old regime that still has a lot
14:43
Speaker 7: of people involved in it who aren't necessarily big fans
14:46
Speaker 7: of diplomacy or peace.
14:47
Speaker 6: And if it fails, the war expands.
14:49
Speaker 2: What's that I'm sorry, if it fails, the war expands.
14:52
Speaker 7: Well, that the war is about this operation, okay, and
14:55
Speaker 7: that's what this is. It's about very specific objectives. The
14:58
Speaker 7: President laid them out on the first night of the operation.
15:00
Speaker 7: I'll repeat them to you now because I hear a
15:02
Speaker 7: lot of talk about we don't know what the clear
15:03
Speaker 7: objectives are here. They are, you should write them down.
15:06
Speaker 7: Number one, the destruction of their air force. Number two,
15:09
Speaker 7: the destruction of their navy. Number three, the severe diminishing
15:13
Speaker 7: of their missile launching capability. And number four the destruction
15:16
Speaker 7: of their factory so they can't make more missiles and
15:18
Speaker 7: more drones to threaten us in the future. All of
15:21
Speaker 7: this so that they can never hide behind it to
15:23
Speaker 7: acquire a nuclear weapon. That was our objective from the beginning,
15:27
Speaker 7: that remains our objective. Now we are on pace, and
15:30
Speaker 7: in fact they're head of schedule in some of those things,
15:32
Speaker 7: and we are going to achieve those things in a
15:33
Speaker 7: number of weeks, not in a number of months.
15:35
Speaker 6: Mister check Jerry, thanks for time this morning.
15:38
Speaker 5: It's really interesting to see how much the media is
15:40
Speaker 5: willing to change, alter, and lie to you to try
15:44
Speaker 5: to make you think that somehow what we're doing in
15:46
Speaker 5: Iran is a failure, when clearly, in reality it's a
15:49
Speaker 5: massive success already and the Secretary of Stateming it very
15:53
Speaker 5: clear that Trump Doctrine is working.
15:55
