- 1:07Speaker 1: Never part Welcome back. Thanks for being with us. It
- 1:12Speaker 1: is a Wednesday. Scott Clendid is here. This portion of
- 1:18Speaker 1: the program brought to you by the Dollar Floor Store.
- 1:22Speaker 1: It's 4-2 now, Astros, so two solo home runs. Cam
- 1:27Speaker 1: Smith has homered. Are they just in the second inning?
- 1:31Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:32Speaker 1: We've got a long way to go.
- 1:35Speaker 3: No, no, you don't. Because as soon as the Yankees start,
- 1:38Speaker 3: Major League Baseball will declare the end of the Astros
- 1:42Speaker 3: and the White Sox.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Dalton Varshow out for the rest of the year with
- 1:46Speaker 1: wrist surgery today. Was he anything?
- 1:52Speaker 3: You mean your midseason pickup? Your trade deadline that he
- 1:55Speaker 3: gives up? Spencer Arrighetti?
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 3: For a guy who was hurt when you got him?
- 1:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 3: That Toronto either you ignored that Toronto told you that
- 2:04Speaker 3: he was hurt or they hoodwinked you.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Is this why Dana Brown is not the GM anymore?
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's why Dana Brown is not the GM anymore.
- 2:10Speaker 1: All right. Before we get to that.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I do want to say that the Houston Astros slash
- 2:18Speaker 3: Atlanta Braves treatment by television to always put the Astros
- 2:23Speaker 3: on in the afternoon is one of the reasons why
- 2:26Speaker 3: the crowds are what they are. It's not the only reason.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh, I'd already said that. When you have an afternoon game,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and Atlanta certainly wasn't overflowing either.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I'm saying Atlanta when they were making their run year
- 2:39Speaker 3: after year.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 3: And they have a chance to put Boston on or
- 2:43Speaker 3: New York on.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Boston, New York, or the Dodgers.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:45Speaker 1: The Astros have.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Not played a primetime non-ALCS game. Okay? Mm-hmm. since at
- 2:57Speaker 3: least 2019. There have been afternoon games every time since then.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Home and away.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It's the Astros. I mean, I'm sorry that you root
- 3:07Speaker 1: for a team nobody else cares about.
- 3:09Speaker 3: But the Rangers were done the same way, Chip.
- 3:11Speaker 7: I know that.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I'm just saying. I don't think when you go to
- 3:16Speaker 3: fleabag pitchers to get comments... To go to some, to
- 3:21Speaker 3: go to somebody that.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah. What was that?
- 3:24Speaker 3: Why, why, why is Chandler Rome doing that? Because that's
- 3:27Speaker 3: his job with the athletic is to run down the Astros.
- 3:30Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. The, the guy that he quoted.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I never even heard of him.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Exactly right.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Let's go to football. You've got the piggy
- 3:40Speaker 1: people coming in this week.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Yeah. How are they playing?
- 3:47Speaker 1: I don't know. I've, I saw them against Georgia for
- 3:51Speaker 1: about a quarter. They started the first two possessions real
- 3:56Speaker 1: well against Georgia. I was surprised they beat Tulsa as
- 4:01Speaker 1: handily as they did. I know Tulsa's not a great team,
- 4:05Speaker 1: but they did beat Oklahoma State to start the season.
- 4:08Speaker 3: And then Sam Houston State threw an interception inside the
- 4:12Speaker 3: last 30 seconds of the next game. But yeah, 34-6
- 4:16Speaker 3: is a That's how you're supposed to handle it.
- 4:20Speaker 1: It is. So my thought is they're coming in going, hey,
- 4:27Speaker 1: we can get a win here. I mean, you know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: there's no reason for them to be coming in thinking
- 4:34Speaker 1: we can't get a win other than the fact that
- 4:36Speaker 1: they can't beat A & M. And one of the
- 4:40Speaker 1: things A & M has going for them this week
- 4:42Speaker 1: is that they own Arkansas and have for, I don't know,
- 4:46Speaker 1: more than a decade.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Since Bobby Petrino was riding his motorcycle.
- 4:51Speaker 1: That's been a while, hasn't it? A couple years. Yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's been a little while. But I know this. They
- 5:00Speaker 1: won't beat Arkansas playing like they played the last two games,
- 5:04Speaker 1: in my opinion. I mean, unless Arkansas just.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Plays like they did the first three?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Maybe. I mean, they're 14-point underdogs, so that'll give you
- 5:13Speaker 1: some idea.
- 5:15Speaker 8: Yes.
- 5:16Speaker 1: But so is Kentucky. Kentucky. When they came in, they
- 5:19Speaker 1: were 14-point underdogs. Yeah. So they're going to have to just.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Kentucky's a lot better than... Maybe.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I don't know that they're a lot better. I still
- 5:29Speaker 1: don't know about a lot of teams four games in, frankly.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I still don't have enough information to.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We think we know what most teams are at this point,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but I'm not sure that we know everything about all
- 5:43Speaker 1: the teams yet. But... They're going to have to play
- 5:50Speaker 1: better in everything except punting. They're going to have to
- 5:53Speaker 1: be better in maybe field goal kicking. They're going to
- 5:57Speaker 1: be better at everything. And the question that I have is,
- 6:05Speaker 1: can they get there? Can they get there with this
- 6:08Speaker 1: group of guys? I'm not saying they can't, but you
- 6:11Speaker 1: have to ask the question. Can they get there with
- 6:15Speaker 1: this team? With these coordinators.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Your quarterback has to play better.
- 6:19Speaker 1: With the quarterback. Your quarterback has to play better, Chip. Okay,
- 6:23Speaker 1: but it's not... Yes, the answer is yes. Of course
- 6:27Speaker 1: he has to play better. But unless you think that the...
- 6:32Speaker 1: And it might. The quarterback play will inspire the defense
- 6:37Speaker 1: to play better. The secondary to play better.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Then.
- 6:44Speaker 1: everybody has to play better and not just the quarterback.
- 6:49Speaker 3: You're not, you're not, you're not going for it in
- 6:52Speaker 3: a position where you put the defense with like.
- 6:54Speaker 1: The quarterback can lift the team. I still wouldn't have
- 6:58Speaker 1: made either of those calls by the way, but Hey, when,
- 7:00Speaker 1: if you think you have to, uh, in that situation,
- 7:04Speaker 1: it all mixes together, but yes, it all mixes together. Um,
- 7:09Speaker 1: My question is, if the quarterback starts the first quarter
- 7:13Speaker 1: like he's played the last couple of games, do you
- 7:16Speaker 1: replace him? Elko has just been adamant, this is my guy.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And understand why. Because if he thought he had somebody better,
- 7:24Speaker 1: he would have already replaced him. I don't think there's
- 7:27Speaker 1: any question about that. His job is to win games.
- 7:30Speaker 1: If he thought he had a guy on the bench
- 7:31Speaker 1: that was better than Marcel Reed, we'd be seeing him.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But if It starts that way Saturday night. In my mind,
- 7:42Speaker 1: you have to make a change. You can't go through
- 7:45Speaker 1: even two quarters of that again this Saturday.
- 7:50Speaker 3: When did they make the change to put him in
- 7:56Speaker 3: the lineup, put Marcel Reed in the lineup?
- 8:00Speaker 1: It was the LSU game, right? It was the LSU game.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Two years ago?
- 8:03Speaker 3: Two years ago.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 9: Was it Wegman?
- 8:07Speaker 10: Yes.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Who was throwing the ball to the other team.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So if you get to that point, you have to choose.
- 8:16Speaker 3: The only difference is you had seen a little bit
- 8:19Speaker 3: of Marcel Reed from the bowl game the year before
- 8:21Speaker 3: when he went before even before Elko.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And even Houston. Right.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Yes. All of a sudden, after the first play, you
- 8:29Speaker 3: got to go play.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And he showed you something.
- 8:31Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 3: You have not seen anything like that from the other guys.
- 8:34Speaker 1: No, they haven't played enough. No. But they watch him
- 8:37Speaker 1: in practice, like I said, if they thought they had
- 8:41Speaker 1: made a change. Yes. But I don't think, because you
- 8:46Speaker 1: just said, the quarterback's going to lift everybody if he
- 8:50Speaker 1: plays well. I don't think you can go another half
- 8:57Speaker 1: with bad quarterback play. I just don't think you can
- 9:00Speaker 1: do it.
- 9:01Speaker 7: Right.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I think you have to replace that guy and just...
- 9:06Speaker 1: Roll the dice and see what happens. Can somebody come in,
- 9:11Speaker 1: off the bench, complete a couple of passes down the field?
- 9:14Speaker 3: How long do you give them if that next guy
- 9:16Speaker 3: doesn't do anything?
- 9:20Speaker 1: You're stuck that game in my mind. If you're going
- 9:23Speaker 1: to bench or, hey, you can pull guys in and out.
- 9:29Speaker 1: What did Steve Spurrier do? You know, Steve Spreer is
- 9:32Speaker 1: a pretty good football coach, right? I think most people
- 9:34Speaker 1: agree on that.
- 9:35Speaker 3: All of those quarterbacks actually were really good.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well, he had tutored them, right?
- 9:40Speaker 11: Yes.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I mean, they were good because he coached them. I
- 9:44Speaker 1: understand that. But he didn't have any qualms about taking
- 9:49Speaker 1: out his best starting pitcher two innings into the game, right,
- 9:53Speaker 1: and replacing him. And if that didn't work, there were
- 9:57Speaker 1: many times he'd bring the other guy back.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Right?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yes. So it's not like if you put him on
- 10:03Speaker 1: the bench for a quarter, you couldn't bring him back
- 10:07Speaker 1: if the other guy's not giving you a lift. You can.
- 10:11Speaker 1: So I think the trigger has to be a little
- 10:15Speaker 1: quicker this week, in my opinion, given what we've seen
- 10:19Speaker 1: the last two I'm a Marcel Reed fan, okay? I
- 10:22Speaker 1: know there are. I mean, just as the guy who
- 10:26Speaker 1: has the respect of his teammates, right, who has handled
- 10:29Speaker 1: everything as well as you want to be handled in
- 10:33Speaker 1: some really difficult positions.
- 10:36Speaker 3: But he can't.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm a fan.
- 10:38Speaker 3: The self-inflicted stuff he's got to get away from.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, my point.
- 10:42Speaker 3: He just has to play better.
- 10:44Speaker 1: He has to play better.
- 10:45Speaker 3: When shooters don't make baskets, it looks bad.
- 10:50Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 10:52Speaker 3: If you don't do what you're there for, it looks bad.
- 10:56Speaker 8: It is bad.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And there's nothing worse than that happening and you're like, well,
- 11:01Speaker 3: what do we do now? Are you going to let
- 11:04Speaker 3: a shooter shoot? Well, in basketball, maybe you do that,
- 11:07Speaker 3: but you can't do that in quarterback from our discussion
- 11:09Speaker 3: the first hour.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt.
- 11:11Speaker 3: But Arkansas is a good team to have it come in.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Citadel after that, you have an opportunity.
- 11:19Speaker 1: They have a shot to get a little confidence. Because
- 11:22Speaker 1: they don't have any confidence right now. No, they have not. Right?
- 11:25Speaker 1: They don't have any confidence right now. It's obvious. And
- 11:31Speaker 1: if you turn it over, it's like the heads are
- 11:34Speaker 1: going to drop. Here we go again. You've got to
- 11:36Speaker 1: come in and play clean first and foremost, right? Yes.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Even if it's 7-3 at halftime and everybody's murmuring, you've
- 11:44Speaker 1: got to play clean. You can't give it to the
- 11:46Speaker 1: other team, right? You can't have six three and outs
- 11:50Speaker 1: in a row because you get no momentum that way,
- 11:55Speaker 1: you know, and rhythm. And offense is so much about that.
- 12:01Speaker 3: You can't have three three and outs where the last
- 12:05Speaker 3: play is getting sacked 12 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
- 12:10Speaker 1: When you had a pocket to step up in.
- 12:12Speaker 3: When you had a pocket. When your quarterback did not
- 12:14Speaker 3: make the right decision.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Correct. Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Now, I think– I'm a fan of his as well, Chip. Okay?
- 12:23Speaker 3: But the world has changed. When you're getting paid, these quarterbacks.
- 12:30Speaker 1: There's no doubt about that, too. That adds to it.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And I'm not just saying him. I'm saying any quarterback
- 12:37Speaker 3: that struggles– That comes with the territory. It now comes
- 12:40Speaker 3: with the territory.
- 12:40Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it. It has increased– If there
- 12:44Speaker 1: wasn't enough already, which there was without the money, now
- 12:48Speaker 1: the money has just added to the criticism and the
- 12:54Speaker 1: pressure on the shoulders of these guys, right? Because they're
- 12:57Speaker 1: getting paid to deliver. They're not getting paid $ 3 million
- 13:02Speaker 1: a year to be sacked on third down, 12 yards
- 13:06Speaker 1: behind the line of scrimmage when you had a pocket
- 13:08Speaker 1: to step up in and throw a pass.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But you know what? At the next level, you get
- 13:11Speaker 3: fired for that. And they do play their backup quarterback. Now,
- 13:18Speaker 3: it doesn't mean you're going to be any better.
- 13:20Speaker 1: My point.
- 13:20Speaker 3: The Cleveland Browns aren't any better just because they take
- 13:23Speaker 3: the next guy and put him behind center.
- 13:25Speaker 1: No.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Or the Jets.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And you know what? We won't know that until or
- 13:31Speaker 1: if it happens here either. I suspect right now the
- 13:36Speaker 1: way this team is playing from top to bottom, I
- 13:39Speaker 1: don't know how much better they would be if you
- 13:42Speaker 1: have to pull the quarterback and put somebody else in.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I just don't. We don't have the answer to that.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I don't. I just don't like what I've seen so
- 13:52Speaker 1: far as an entire group. And whether it's coaching and
- 13:59Speaker 1: you have to look at the coordinators, maybe he made
- 14:03Speaker 1: a mistake promoting those guys, right? Maybe he did. But
- 14:07Speaker 1: when your quarterback is playing like that, I would argue, man,
- 14:10Speaker 1: it's hard to call plays. You don't know what to call.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It's hard to call plays.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:15Speaker 1: But you have plays that you feel confident in that
- 14:22Speaker 1: you're going to put him in position, just like the
- 14:26Speaker 1: fourth down last week, two weeks ago against Kentucky, right?
- 14:31Speaker 1: There was nothing wrong with that call. The guy was
- 14:34Speaker 1: wide open. That was a first down. Yes. But you
- 14:37Speaker 1: can't bounce the ball at your feet when you're five
- 14:39Speaker 1: yards from your receiver. You can't do it.
- 14:40Speaker 10: No.
- 14:41Speaker 1: And so that's not on the offensive coordinator. That one
- 14:46Speaker 1: was on the quarterback. But maybe the offensive coordinator and
- 14:52Speaker 1: the quarterback aren't meshing right now. I mean, they're just
- 14:57Speaker 1: not on the same page. That's what it looks like.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Maybe the defensive coaches aren't on the same page with
- 15:04Speaker 1: a secondary that Mike Elko said would be his best.
- 15:07Speaker 1: And he knows football.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yes, he does.
- 15:09Speaker 1: He hadn't forgotten how to coach football.
- 15:11Speaker 3: No, when he's coaching that defense.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and he hadn't forgotten how to coach defensive football.
- 15:17Speaker 1: And you've got guys running free. Like, what's going on here?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Why is this guy running wide open? So, again, not
- 15:28Speaker 1: just the quarterback. It is everything. And when the confidence
- 15:32Speaker 1: is bad, this is what you're getting. They need to
- 15:36Speaker 1: come out early. early Saturday night and look like a
- 15:42Speaker 1: football team.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Does it help or hinder? Because you don't want to
- 15:46Speaker 3: lose the crowd either, right? Does it help or hinder
- 15:49Speaker 3: that all of a sudden you're going to have weather
- 15:54Speaker 3: for the first time?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't know that. If I'm Arkansas, I'd
- 15:59Speaker 1: love for it to just pour down rain. Because when
- 16:02Speaker 1: you're the underdog, you want every advantage to even things up.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And a heavy rain would do that. We don't know
- 16:08Speaker 1: that's going to happen. If it does, in my mind,
- 16:13Speaker 1: that does favor Arkansas. And it also pushes your crowd. Sure,
- 16:19Speaker 1: absolutely it does. So, yeah, we don't know that's going
- 16:22Speaker 1: to happen. It may be beautiful by Saturday night's kickoff.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I don't know that.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Hope so.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Because it would be nice.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It would be nice to have a crowd. But again.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Do something for the crowd to be on your side.
- 16:34Speaker 1: You need to do something early to get that crowd
- 16:36Speaker 1: on your side. Because right now, I would argue they're not.
- 16:40Speaker 1: They're walking in like all of us are. You know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: we don't know what. the heck is going to happen.
- 16:47Speaker 1: We don't know what's wrong with this team. We don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: know if they're going to even win, if they can
- 16:51Speaker 1: beat Arkansas at home. So you've got to do something
- 16:55Speaker 1: early to get them going. Could be a defensive play.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Could be a pick six.
- 17:01Speaker 3: You can't press to make that happen.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Well, that's sports, isn't it? Yes, it is. Hey, again,
- 17:08Speaker 1: that's what they're getting paid to do. And so that's
- 17:11Speaker 1: what they have to do on Saturday because– You don't
- 17:14Speaker 1: want them coming in and slopping around early in the game.
- 17:17Speaker 1: You just don't. And I don't know. We'll see. We'll
- 17:22Speaker 1: see what happens with that. And I haven't seen enough
- 17:26Speaker 1: of Arkansas, I'll be honest with you. I've seen a
- 17:31Speaker 1: little bit of them.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I know two weeks ago they had bags on their heads.
- 17:36Speaker 1: At Arkansas. Yeah, I mean, it's a once proud program
- 17:40Speaker 1: that has fallen on lean times. But I would argue
- 17:44Speaker 1: that these new coaches have come in, every single one
- 17:48Speaker 1: of these new coaches that you could name that have
- 17:51Speaker 1: made their programs look pretty good, like Sumrall, right? Villamal.
- 17:59Speaker 1: They've had really good quarterback play. I'm talking about these
- 18:03Speaker 1: guys that have come in and either brought quarterbacks with them, right?
- 18:08Speaker 1: Or the guys have, you know, I mean, apparently Kamari
- 18:12Speaker 1: Otegui was a big-time recruit. I don't follow it enough.
- 18:16Speaker 1: But I would suggest that not even Jeff Levy knew
- 18:21Speaker 1: that this kid was going to be right now what
- 18:23Speaker 1: he's been so far, right? I mean, he knew he
- 18:27Speaker 1: was good, but I don't think he knew that he
- 18:30Speaker 1: was this good so far. Now, again, they have to
- 18:33Speaker 1: go out and prove that against Alabama on Saturday, that he's,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you know.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Mississippi State owns Alabama.
- 18:40Speaker 1: No, it's the other way around. It's the other way around. So, yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I mean, all these teams you look at are most
- 18:51Speaker 1: of them. I mean, the quarterback is playing at a
- 18:53Speaker 1: really high level. That's where we are, right? It's pitching
- 18:57Speaker 1: and catching, and you have to have a guy. And
- 19:01Speaker 1: Marcel has not been that guy yet. We've seen flashes
- 19:07Speaker 1: from the last year and a half, but He's got
- 19:09Speaker 1: to be that guy every week if this team is
- 19:12Speaker 1: going to do what everybody wants him to do. Can
- 19:18Speaker 1: he do it?
- 19:19Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Don't know? What other games have your attention?
- 19:25Speaker 3: Well, you just said Mississippi State.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Yep.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Alabama, that's got my attention.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yep.
- 19:37Speaker 9: I mean.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I just think that are you going to be up
- 19:47Speaker 3: and down? Because it's not just... this team. What is
- 19:54Speaker 3: Mississippi going to be emotionally after they were so flat? Well,
- 20:02Speaker 3: what is Florida going to be now that they've tasted
- 20:05Speaker 3: the good stuff?
- 20:08Speaker 1: You know?
- 20:10Speaker 3: What's going to happen with South Carolina? You know, when
- 20:14Speaker 3: they play Kentucky this.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Week, that's an interesting game to me. Um, I just,
- 20:19Speaker 1: I kind of think South Carolina is done. Um, and
- 20:23Speaker 1: I think Kentucky is a team on the rise. I will, again,
- 20:28Speaker 1: we'll see. I just, I think South Carolina is probably done.
- 20:32Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I like Beamer. I really do. I think he's probably done.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Um, But Sellers could ball out and have a great
- 20:41Speaker 3: game and be back to what he was.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Well, he's certainly capable. He certainly has the ability. We
- 20:51Speaker 1: haven't seen that. I'm interested in Florida going on the
- 20:54Speaker 1: road to Missouri after such an emotional win this last week.
- 20:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I mean, they were primed.
- 21:00Speaker 3: But Missouri got busted in the face by Mississippi State.
- 21:03Speaker 1: They did. Yeah, but they're back home. You know, they're
- 21:07Speaker 1: back home.
- 21:08Speaker 3: So maybe without the Cowbells they'll be better?
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe so. Maybe so.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I just think that I understand everything about having two
- 21:24Speaker 3: losses this time of year. But there is so much
- 21:30Speaker 3: football in front of you to play that if you're
- 21:33Speaker 3: 4-0 or you're 2-2– In two weeks, you could have
- 21:38Speaker 3: the same record if you don't show up and play
- 21:41Speaker 3: every week, all of these teams in the SEC.
- 21:44Speaker 1: There's no question about that. I mean, again, next week
- 21:50Speaker 1: Georgia will play Alabama, right?
- 21:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 1: And so they'll get their first test.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Right? I mean, they look pretty formidable, and you know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: who they are, you know what Kirby is, and they
- 22:06Speaker 1: look formidable, but Alabama has owned Georgia over the years. So,
- 22:12Speaker 1: you know, we'll see. Can Alabama go in and do
- 22:16Speaker 1: what they've done for the last 16 games against Mississippi
- 22:19Speaker 1: State on Saturday? I think they can.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I'd be shocked if they didn't.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I am too. I think they can,
- 22:31Speaker 1: but hey, Lincoln Riley down at USC?
- 22:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I think he is too. And you know what? I
- 22:42Speaker 1: had really forgotten until I watched this game this last
- 22:45Speaker 1: week and that horrible play I happened to be watching
- 22:48Speaker 1: because by then the A & M game was over.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And I was flipping. And I flipped in time to
- 22:53Speaker 1: see that. And I really had forgotten that Gary Patterson
- 22:58Speaker 1: was a defensive coordinator there. Yeah. You know, that wasn't
- 23:05Speaker 1: pretty either, and it hasn't been pretty. And I don't know.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I know Gary Patterson hasn't forgotten how to coach. I
- 23:15Speaker 1: know sometimes, and we know from Coach Leach's career, that
- 23:22Speaker 1: if that's not a priority, sometimes it doesn't matter who
- 23:26Speaker 1: your defensive coordinator is, right?
- 23:29Speaker 5: Right.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Because they're going against that style every week, and they're
- 23:34Speaker 1: not particularly good at different styles of defending. And that's
- 23:39Speaker 1: not the priority of the coaching staff.
- 23:43Speaker 3: And if you get a great athlete, he's going to
- 23:45Speaker 3: go play offense, even though he might help you more
- 23:47Speaker 3: on defense.
- 23:47Speaker 1: It seems like that because USC is not devoid of athletes.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Holy crud. I've watched them a couple of times. They
- 23:57Speaker 1: have a lot of professionals. And I don't mean this
- 24:01Speaker 1: kind of professional in college. I mean, they have a
- 24:04Speaker 1: lot of NFL athletes on that football team.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yeah, they spent a lot of money last year to
- 24:09Speaker 3: have the number one class in the country.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't know that. But their athleticism just pops.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You don't have to know anything about football to turn
- 24:20Speaker 1: on the TV and just watch them for about five
- 24:23Speaker 1: minutes and go, holy crud. There are a lot of
- 24:25Speaker 1: athletes on this field, right?
- 24:27Speaker 8: Yes.
- 24:28Speaker 1: But they're not doing much. He had athletes at Oklahoma, too,
- 24:33Speaker 1: by the way.
- 24:34Speaker 3: And they didn't do much on defense there either.
- 24:36Speaker 1: They didn't do much defense.
- 24:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 1: So, yeah, I don't think he's going to be around.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And then, you know, Miami really haven't played anybody yet either.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame. Put Notre Dame in there, too.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Notre Dame's in there. But I watch a lot of football,
- 24:59Speaker 1: so I realize they haven't been tested, but that doesn't
- 25:02Speaker 1: mean they're not worthy of their ranking right now.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I understand, but if you switched the teams and put
- 25:13Speaker 3: USC in Notre Dame's uniform and vice versa, and you
- 25:19Speaker 3: said that, hey, you have to still coach them, Notre
- 25:23Speaker 3: Dame probably have a better coach, but you wouldn't see
- 25:26Speaker 3: much difference in the athletes if those two teams are
- 25:28Speaker 3: going to run out there. But right now, the Notre
- 25:31Speaker 3: Dame coach is hot, and he's been hot his whole career.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And you have to sit there and say, until something changes,
- 25:38Speaker 3: that guy's a better coach than Riley.
- 25:40Speaker 1: No doubt about that.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Indiana hadn't played against Air yet.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Well, I actually sat in the... Motel room down in
- 25:53Speaker 1: South Texas and watched them almost get beat by Northwestern
- 25:57Speaker 1: this last Friday night. They didn't, but they easily could have.
- 26:04Speaker 3: They had a couple chances to lose last year, teams
- 26:07Speaker 3: they shouldn't.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Have lost to. They did. They did.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But Signetti pulled them through.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Yes, he did.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Lincoln Riley does not.
- 26:14Speaker 1: He does not.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Signetti pulls you through, and Lincoln Riley does not.
- 26:18Speaker 1: We don't really have time to go into Brent Venable's.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Right now, I saw a poll of Oklahoma fans that
- 26:30Speaker 1: 62% were still supporting the coach, but 75% thought they
- 26:38Speaker 1: needed to change quarterbacks and about 80% thought they needed
- 26:42Speaker 1: to change offensive coordinators.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Beat Texas and nobody cares.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Correct. They have a week off. To get ready. That's
- 26:54Speaker 1: their game. And if he does that, then, yeah, nobody cares.
- 27:00Speaker 1: All right. I think we're done now.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Have a good one, Chip.
- 27:04Speaker 1: We'll see you next Wednesday.
- 27:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Okay. Just checking. I'm planning on being here myself, but
- 27:12Speaker 1: you just never know.
- 27:13Speaker 3: That's like three Wednesdays in a row.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I know. It's crazy. I'm not happy about it.
- 27:19Speaker 3: It's good to have you here to do that, but
- 27:22Speaker 3: it'd be better if you told me about what's going
- 27:24Speaker 3: on at First Friday in downtown Bryan.
- 27:26Speaker 1: We have First Friday this week. Downtown Bryan has First
- 27:29Speaker 1: Friday this week. In fact, there's a lot for the
- 27:33Speaker 1: next three weeks. It is going to be jumping because
- 27:37Speaker 1: we have First Friday this week. Next week is the
- 27:43Speaker 1: Songwriters Festival Festival. And I'm telling you, people, if you
- 27:47Speaker 1: like Texas singer-songwriters, the quality of people that Kyle is
- 27:54Speaker 1: bringing in is really phenomenal. There may be a few
- 28:01Speaker 1: that you haven't kind of heard of. It's like, I
- 28:04Speaker 1: don't know who that is. I promise you, this is
- 28:07Speaker 1: going to be a great deal. And a lot of it,
- 28:10Speaker 1: a lot of it is free. The main stage is free.
- 28:16Speaker 1: And then after that, Trick or Treat Street on the 25th.
- 28:22Speaker 1: That's a Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6 with family-friendly events,
- 28:30Speaker 1: costume contests, candy. Go online and oh, oh. Don't forget
- 28:38Speaker 1: the game day shuttle Saturday afternoon from downtown Bryan. It's free.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Free is good. Go online at destinationbryan.com. Destinationbryan.com.

- 31:20Speaker 4: laughter and the cheer Scenes from the past rise before
- 31:27Speaker 4: me Watching the bubbles in my beard Visions of someone
- 31:38Speaker 4: who loved me.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Rings alone. Mallory is brought to us by Southwest Card World.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It just hit me that we haven't done any Dancing
- 31:50Speaker 1: with the Stars news in a couple of weeks. Could
- 31:53Speaker 1: you fill us in?
- 31:54Speaker 7: I can. I don't even need an article to fill
- 31:58Speaker 7: you in.
- 31:59Speaker 1: How's Giada doing?
- 32:03Speaker 7: Giada.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 7: Which one is Gianna?
- 32:08Speaker 1: She's the very thin one with the big mouth.
- 32:12Speaker 5: You know.
- 32:14Speaker 7: Hold on. Let me do it.
- 32:18Speaker 1: She might be gone by now.
- 32:20Speaker 7: Why is she famous? Tell me that.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Food Network.
- 32:25Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 32:26Speaker 7: She was eliminated.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Oh, and I never got to see her.
- 32:30Speaker 14: I know.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Oh, she was such, she's such, she looks like a
- 32:33Speaker 5: delight too.
- 32:33Speaker 7: She just looks like the nicest person ever.
- 32:36Speaker 1: But she can't, but she can't dance apparently.
- 32:39Speaker 10: Okay.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I just want to say, I, that's who I thought
- 32:42Speaker 5: you were talking about, but I just.
- 32:44Speaker 7: Wanted to make sure.
- 32:46Speaker 5: People this season who I was kind of didn't really
- 32:49Speaker 5: know who they were.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I never got to see her.
- 32:52Speaker 14: I know.
- 32:53Speaker 5: And then actually, uh, Taylor Hanson, spoiler alert. From the
- 32:58Speaker 5: Hanson Brothers.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 7: He was eliminated yesterday.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I know. So who's the favorite?
- 33:05Speaker 10: I know.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Who's the favorite?
- 33:07Speaker 5: You know, it's kind of crazy because I feel like
- 33:10Speaker 5: who people thought were going to be the favorites aren't.
- 33:13Speaker 12: Okay.
- 33:13Speaker 5: So Jenna Dawson's on there, and she's a professional dancer.
- 33:17Speaker 7: And then there's another guy who I completely forgot what
- 33:19Speaker 7: his name is. It might be Hunter something. He's on
- 33:21Speaker 7: Grey's Anatomy.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:23Speaker 7: He's also a dancer, it turns out.
- 33:25Speaker 5: And he's doing pretty good, but I think because they
- 33:29Speaker 5: were both solo dancers, it's like they're very disconnected from.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Their partners in a sense. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 5: But the guy from Grey's Anatomy is actually– he's doing
- 33:39Speaker 5: pretty good. But there's a lot of other people, like
- 33:41Speaker 5: the Paralympic guy, which I'm.
- 33:45Speaker 7: Going to space them.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I'm getting them all confused, but he's really good.
- 33:50Speaker 7: He's actually– He's amazing.
- 33:52Speaker 5: And then there's people who I didn't think were going
- 33:55Speaker 5: to do anything are actually doing it.
- 33:57Speaker 1: So it sounds like I should sign up to do this. Guillermo. Guillermo.
- 34:06Speaker 7: I can never say his name right.
- 34:07Speaker 5: He's still kicking.
- 34:08Speaker 7: And you know what?
- 34:09Speaker 5: I think he's a fan favorite because he's just a delight.
- 34:12Speaker 7: So there's that. Okay.
- 34:14Speaker 5: But I'm actually kind of bored this season, and I
- 34:17Speaker 5: never thought I would say that.
- 34:19Speaker 7: I'm bored.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm thinking of anything.
- 34:22Speaker 5: There's always next week.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:24Speaker 7: You should.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Hey, you know, last night's theme was yacht rock and
- 34:29Speaker 5: roll or something.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yacht rock. Yacht rock.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Nice.
- 34:32Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 34:33Speaker 5: So you might have actually liked last night's episode, Chip.
- 34:37Speaker 5: So I'm just saying you're missing out.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Apparently.
- 34:40Speaker 5: That seems like your vibe. I don't know.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Honestly, Yacht Rock is not my vibe. I want that
- 34:47Speaker 1: on the record.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Why not?
- 34:48Speaker 1: I mean, it's not.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Well, next week is Mariah Carey week. So maybe that's
- 34:52Speaker 5: more your jam.
- 34:56Speaker 1: My jam ended about 1975. So anything before that, I'm
- 34:59Speaker 1: really good at.
- 34:59Speaker 7: Okay.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Diddy, NBC News says today, yesterday, citing photos and videos,
- 35:17Speaker 1: that Diddy, using a cell phone, a tablet, apparently drinking champagne,
- 35:29Speaker 1: his rep has responded to those allegations. that he uses
- 35:33Speaker 1: contraband electronics and alcohol in prison and pays fellow inmates
- 35:40Speaker 1: to perform duties for him. The continued scrutiny of every
- 35:49Speaker 1: mundane detail of Sean Combs' life in prison has reached
- 35:54Speaker 1: a point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,
- 36:00Speaker 1: said Judah Engelmayer. The only real news is that Sean
- 36:05Speaker 1: continues to serve his sentence within the rules, and he
- 36:09Speaker 1: patiently awaits the court's decision on his appeal. The Federal
- 36:14Speaker 1: Bureau of Prisons has said it does not issue comments, quote,
- 36:20Speaker 1: pertaining to internal inmate matters. In other words, all of
- 36:26Speaker 1: this is apparently going on. While he's behind bars at
- 36:32Speaker 1: the low security facility, Puff Daddy has reportedly been placed
- 36:38Speaker 1: in solitary confinement following a fight with a fellow inmate.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Saw his release date push back after creating and consuming
- 36:47Speaker 1: alcohol in prison. A report which Engelmayer denied back in November. Uh-huh.
- 36:55Speaker 7: Sure. Anything else?
- 36:56Speaker 1: He's having quite the partay.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I was like, it sounds like a vacation for him.
- 37:01Speaker 7: What is he upset about?
- 37:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 9: I mean.
- 37:05Speaker 5: I mean, solitary confinement. No one's going to talk to me.
- 37:08Speaker 5: I can have a tablet and some champagne. Yeah. Like.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Like that's a vacation. Are we at a resort? That's
- 37:14Speaker 1: a vacation. What?
- 37:16Speaker 7: I mean. Nobody asking me questions?
- 37:18Speaker 1: Come on. Diddy's got quite the life going.
- 37:24Speaker 7: I would love to say I'm shocked, but, you know.
- 37:27Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 37:29Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 37:30Speaker 7: I bet somewhere, what's his name?
- 37:33Speaker 5: What is that guy?
- 37:34Speaker 7: I just forgot his name. Who is the other, the other, nevermind.
- 37:38Speaker 7: I'm going to just butcher his name and it's not
- 37:40Speaker 7: even important. Okay.
- 37:41Speaker 5: But I was going to say, I bet he's jealous
- 37:42Speaker 5: of him, but he's also another big guy.
- 37:44Speaker 7: Oh, okay. Okay. The guy who sings Ignition, it doesn't matter.
- 37:49Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. R.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Kelly. R.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Kelly.
- 37:51Speaker 5: I bet R.
- 37:52Speaker 7: Kelly is probably reading this somewhere.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I bet R. Kelly is not living the life that
- 37:57Speaker 1: Diddy's living.
- 37:58Speaker 7: No.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Because he's in a real prison.
- 38:03Speaker 7: He's doing.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Yeah, not a country club. I don't get a tablet.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Not a country club prison. I don't get a phone. Yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I don't get champagne.
- 38:10Speaker 5: He gets whatever kind of crazy alcohol that they make.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that they're making in their toilets. Yeah. I know.
- 38:17Speaker 5: All right, so maybe follow the law, guys.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 38:22Speaker 5: That's your message.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Did I see that Taylor Swift has a song that's dropped?
- 38:29Speaker 7: Okay, so yes, Chip.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Taylor Swift actually had four songs that dropped. I think
- 38:33Speaker 5: we actually talked about this last week.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I don't remember that.
- 38:37Speaker 5: I know how big of a Swifty you are and
- 38:38Speaker 5: how important it is to you.
- 38:39Speaker 15: It is.
- 38:41Speaker 5: And apparently, Travis Kelsey and Jason Kelsey scores... Taylor Swift's
- 38:46Speaker 5: song Cleveland.
- 38:47Speaker 7: They're huge fans. They're big fans of the song.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Imagine that.
- 38:52Speaker 7: Shocking enough.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 38:54Speaker 5: The song is literally about you, I believe so, Travis. So, yes,
- 38:57Speaker 5: I would hope you would like it. They kicked off
- 39:00Speaker 5: the September 30th episode, which was today, by giving their
- 39:04Speaker 5: reviews of Swift's ode to their hometown. Cleveland is rocking
- 39:08Speaker 5: right now, Travis said. Shout out to Tay-Tay. for making
- 39:12Speaker 5: that song and giving the city.
- 39:14Speaker 7: A little more life.
- 39:17Speaker 5: Jason said the track has been on repeat at the
- 39:19Speaker 5: home with his wife, Kylie Kelsey. Dude, that song is incredible.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Kylie and I have been listening to it so much.
- 39:26Speaker 5: There's just something about it that makes you feel real good.
- 39:28Speaker 5: It's a good song.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I guess maybe I'll have to No, never mind. Just kidding.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Just kidding.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Well, you had us there for one second.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Just kidding.
- 39:47Speaker 5: We're going to lock you in a solitary confinement of
- 39:50Speaker 5: a studio and make you listen.
- 39:51Speaker 1: To Taylor Swift. So apparently Travis is from Cleveland. Is
- 39:55Speaker 1: that right? Did I get that right?
- 39:56Speaker 7: I guess so.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I guess it makes more sense now because I did
- 39:59Speaker 5: listen to the song. I mean, look. Taylor Swift and
- 40:02Speaker 5: I are the same age, so I've grown up on
- 40:05Speaker 5: all of her different eras, I guess.
- 40:07Speaker 1: You could say. And how do you like this song?
- 40:09Speaker 5: People apparently hate the four songs she released.
- 40:12Speaker 6: Really?
- 40:12Speaker 5: It sounds exactly to me like the other stuff she's
- 40:15Speaker 5: been producing, so I don't really care either way. It's
- 40:18Speaker 5: not my favorite, but I also don't care in the
- 40:23Speaker 5: most non-biased way.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'll download it. No, I'm just kidding.
- 40:29Speaker 5: You're not downloading it.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I'm kidding. I'm kidding again. Hey, I got some good news.
- 40:38Speaker 13: Oh, great.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Lil Wayne's engaged again.
- 40:41Speaker 5: Lil Wayne?
- 40:42Speaker 7: I love Lil Wayne.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Lil Wayne appeared in a short video shared by fellow
- 40:49Speaker 1: Hot Boys member BG. in which Wayne congratulated the Bling
- 40:54Speaker 1: Bling rapper on his recent engagement. Congratulations, Lil Wayne says.
- 41:02Speaker 1: The fellow New Orleans emcee then pans the camera to
- 41:06Speaker 1: 23-year-old Maddie Cannon, who waves and shares congrats over Wayne's shoulder.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I'm marrying this one. This is Madison. This is my fiancée.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Let us know what color we wearing. I'm the best man,
- 41:24Speaker 1: you heard me? Wayne has been very private about the
- 41:29Speaker 1: relationship and few details about her are known. USA recently
- 41:36Speaker 1: reached out to Lil's reps for comments. In July, Lil
- 41:42Speaker 1: revealed that he and his once-rumored fiancée had called it quits.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Let's see, July to August, August, September. Well, two months later,
- 41:51Speaker 1: he's got him another one.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Yeah, one that's 21 years.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Younger than him. Yeah, yeah. 21 years younger. Maddie. We
- 41:59Speaker 1: call her Maddie.
- 42:02Speaker 7: Oh, gosh.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Those two. Those crazy kids.
- 42:06Speaker 5: You know, I started this segment saying I love Lil Wayne,
- 42:08Speaker 5: but those age gaps just really gross me out.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Those crazy kids. I feel like that one's going to
- 42:14Speaker 1: last forever.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Literally, one barely can drink, but sure.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You know what? Let's see if I can't wangle us
- 42:21Speaker 1: an invite to Lil Wayne's wedding. It probably won't be
- 42:23Speaker 1: as hard as getting into Taylor's wedding.
- 42:26Speaker 5: If it doesn't end in a breakup.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Come on, now.
- 42:31Speaker 5: Three months from now.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Come on, now.
- 42:33Speaker 5: There could be another one.
- 42:35Speaker 7: Well, if it's in New Orleans, maybe I have some connections.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 42:40Speaker 7: Love New Orleans.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Let's talk about Harry and Meghan, because why not?
- 42:46Speaker 7: We can't go by without us talking about them.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Excellent.
- 42:51Speaker 7: I'm sorry.
- 42:51Speaker 5: I'm just laughing because I read the first line. They
- 42:53Speaker 5: have condemned the behavior of a photographer spotted lurking outside
- 42:58Speaker 5: their children's school as extraordinarily reckless, which, yes, that is.
- 43:02Speaker 5: That's horrible.
- 43:03Speaker 7: Like, don't don't photograph people's kids, man.
- 43:07Speaker 5: But the British police are investigating after two men carrying
- 43:10Speaker 5: backpacks were spotted by both private security and school staff
- 43:14Speaker 5: walking the perimeter of the school building. stopping at various
- 43:16Speaker 5: points and checking into the ground or staring into the grounds.
- 43:20Speaker 9: Sorry.
- 43:21Speaker 5: So Archie and Lily were forced to leave their first
- 43:24Speaker 5: school over security concerns.
- 43:27Speaker 7: For just two weeks.
- 43:29Speaker 5: But the incident has sparked fresh security concerns for them
- 43:33Speaker 5: who lost their taxpayer funded security shortly.
- 43:36Speaker 1: After the announcement. If we could get King Charles to
- 43:41Speaker 1: throw in some security money, this kind of stuff wouldn't
- 43:45Speaker 1: be happening.
- 43:46Speaker 5: Oh, Charles is like, whatever.
- 43:48Speaker 7: You're not my firstborn son.
- 43:50Speaker 5: You're not the future monarch. And your children definitely aren't.
- 43:55Speaker 5: They're bottom on the list. Like, I don't, he doesn't care,
- 43:58Speaker 5: which I mean that in the most respectful way, because
- 44:01Speaker 5: you shouldn't care about children's lives.
- 44:04Speaker 7: But these people, come on.
- 44:08Speaker 5: Anyways, the decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this
- 44:12Speaker 5: way around a school is extraordinarily reckless as a spokesperson
- 44:16Speaker 5: for the couple.
- 44:17Speaker 11: There is a.
- 44:18Speaker 5: World of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking
- 44:22Speaker 5: the perimeter of a school. stopping to look into the
- 44:24Speaker 5: grounds and monitoring children as they go about their day.
- 44:28Speaker 5: Apparently they were initially seen separately, but again, after observing
- 44:32Speaker 5: for a longer period of time, they both returned to
- 44:34Speaker 5: a white van, which makes the story even crazier. And
- 44:38Speaker 5: police later established it was a rental. So there's that.
- 44:44Speaker 5: They're concerned whatever photographs they have, been seeking. This is
- 44:48Speaker 5: not only an unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of the children,
- 44:52Speaker 5: it was irresponsible and ill-considered.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Unacceptable and irresponsible. See, this is the kind of writing
- 45:02Speaker 1: I need on my behalf.
- 45:05Speaker 7: Well, don't ask me.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Somebody putting out... I won't. Don't worry.
- 45:10Speaker 5: He's like, no, you weren't even on my list.
- 45:14Speaker 1: No, you weren't on that list. I'm sorry.
- 45:16Speaker 5: You're at the bottom of the long list.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Yeah, not that list. Speaking of intrusive, Ella Langley is
- 45:28Speaker 1: learning to tune out the noise as her career reaches
- 45:32Speaker 1: new heights. She paused during a recent stop on her
- 45:37Speaker 1: dandelion tour in Columbus, Ohio, to reflect on the intense
- 45:41Speaker 1: scrutiny she has faced. Langley told the crowd... Nearly every
- 45:47Speaker 1: aspect of her public image has been picked apart, from
- 45:51Speaker 1: her appearance and clothing to the way she speaks, performs,
- 45:54Speaker 1: and writes music. I don't think I've ever had more
- 45:57Speaker 1: opinions on myself in my life than I have in
- 45:59Speaker 1: this last year, said Langley. The way I look, the
- 46:03Speaker 1: way I speak, the way I dress, the way I move,
- 46:06Speaker 1: the way I sing, the way I write. The 27-year-old
- 46:10Speaker 1: admitted that the criticism initially made her question whether she
- 46:13Speaker 1: could handle realities of fame. But then her check came
- 46:18Speaker 1: in and she decided she could. No, I put that
- 46:21Speaker 1: part in. Langley said during a speech, if this is
- 46:28Speaker 1: what I'm signed up to do, I don't know about this,
- 46:31Speaker 1: you know. I signed up to sing music. I love
- 46:33Speaker 1: what I do. But if this is what it's going
- 46:35Speaker 1: to be the whole entire time, I mean, I don't
- 46:37Speaker 1: know if I'm strong enough for this. Langley said her
- 46:40Speaker 1: perspective began to change when she got a check in
- 46:44Speaker 1: the mail. No, no. Her perspective began to change when
- 46:48Speaker 1: she thought about her younger self and the sacrifices she
- 46:52Speaker 1: made pursuing her dream. Be careful what you wish for.
- 46:58Speaker 9: Right?
- 46:58Speaker 7: Because you just might get it all. And some you
- 47:02Speaker 7: don't want.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:03Speaker 7: That's a song.
- 47:04Speaker 5: I just can't remember.
- 47:05Speaker 1: I like that. Wynonna, opening up about the ebbs and
- 47:11Speaker 1: flows of her relationship with Sister Ashley. The country star
- 47:16Speaker 1: tells people that she and Ashley are not connected at
- 47:20Speaker 1: the moment. But that's not to say they won't be
- 47:23Speaker 1: in the future. Says Wynonna, we're taking a break, which
- 47:28Speaker 1: all families can relate to. She's doing her thing. I'm
- 47:33Speaker 1: doing mine. Ashley has a new album out called The
- 47:39Speaker 1: Hard Truth. Wynonna says she hadn't heard it. She insists
- 47:43Speaker 1: that the pair who lost their mom, Naomi, in 2022
- 47:46Speaker 1: will absolutely reconnect down the line. She just travels a lot.
- 47:51Speaker 1: She's always gone, says Wynonna. It's nothing specific. Wynonna has
- 47:56Speaker 1: long been open about the ways in which her relationship
- 47:59Speaker 1: with Ashley, who has a different biological father, has fluctuated
- 48:03Speaker 1: over the years. Because the family struggled financially during their childhood,
- 48:08Speaker 1: Wynonna said that Ashley was often left in her care
- 48:13Speaker 1: while Naomi went to work. I raised Ashley, she said
- 48:17Speaker 1: in an interview last year. That's why we have such
- 48:20Speaker 1: a funny relationship, because she calls me sister mommy. Yeah,
- 48:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 48:30Speaker 7: I don't know. Yeah, it's weird.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Oh, you know.
- 48:36Speaker 8: It's a little weird, a little strange.
- 48:39Speaker 7: Information we probably didn't need to know.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Probably don't know. TMI. but that's why we're here.
- 48:45Speaker 5: But yeah you're welcome sister mommy that's yeah anyways moving
- 48:51Speaker 5: on yes completely changed gears but not really because i
- 48:54Speaker 5: am going to bring up princess diana.
- 48:56Speaker 7: Good but tom cruise.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Is reflecting on the time princess diana brought a young
- 49:01Speaker 5: prince william to the first mission impossible set during an
- 49:05Speaker 5: appearance on the jennifer hudson show yesterday he admitted he
- 49:09Speaker 5: He had known William for a long time. Hudson did
- 49:12Speaker 5: ask whether the report suggesting Princess Diana had visited one
- 49:16Speaker 5: of the movie sets with her son before, if that
- 49:18Speaker 5: was true.
- 49:19Speaker 7: And he did reply.
- 49:20Speaker 5: Yes, I guess he had, he spoke of it.
- 49:23Speaker 7: So it's fine.
- 49:24Speaker 5: I'm always a very, I'm always very private about people.
- 49:27Speaker 7: It was beautiful.
- 49:28Speaker 5: It was mission impossible. The first mission impossible, man, was
- 49:33Speaker 5: she lovely. And he was just absolutely lovely, very kind
- 49:37Speaker 5: to everyone. And just a kid and, mannerly and fun
- 49:41Speaker 5: fun same person same guy so apparently william is a
- 49:45Speaker 5: fun guy guys if you were wondering we knew that
- 49:48Speaker 5: um he he also spoke about prince william and kate
- 49:51Speaker 5: middleton recently attending the world premiere of his new film
- 49:54Speaker 5: digger um out.
- 49:56Speaker 1: This weekend by the way digger is out this weekend.
- 49:59Speaker 5: Are you gonna see it he spoke.
- 50:01Speaker 1: About this i know i'm still deciding.
- 50:04Speaker 5: He did say they were laughing, very gracious, love the film.
- 50:07Speaker 5: It was beautiful for them to be there. They're such
- 50:10Speaker 5: an elegant, charismatic couple.
- 50:13Speaker 1: He didn't say that about Harry and Meghan. Just saying.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Just saying. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I bet Kate and William,
- 50:25Speaker 1: they've already copied this article and sent them a copy.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Take that.
- 50:35Speaker 5: Guess we're the favorites.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Yeah. And you're not.
- 50:40Speaker 5: Remember when mom took me to the first Mission Impossible
- 50:43Speaker 5: set and not you? I don't know.
- 50:50Speaker 7: All right.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Let's do some birthdays. Can we?
- 50:54Speaker 7: We can try.
- 50:54Speaker 1: We'll try. My gosh. This is hard to believe. Angie
- 51:00Speaker 1: Dickinson is 95. Johnny Mathis is 91. I saw him
- 51:08Speaker 1: in Vegas probably 20 years ago.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Well.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Marilyn McCoo is 83 today.
- 51:19Speaker 7: Okay.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Oh, Fran.
- 51:24Speaker 7: Fran Drescher.
- 51:25Speaker 8: How old?
- 51:26Speaker 7: She's 69.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Parts of her. Well, you know. Marty Stewart. The great
- 51:32Speaker 1: Marty Stewart. is 68 today. Crystal Bernard from Wings, 65 today.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Eric Stoltz, 65 today.
- 51:45Speaker 7: I'm glad you know some of these people because.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I'm... Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, 63 today.
- 51:54Speaker 7: T-Pain is 42.
- 51:57Speaker 1: No way. We haven't heard from him in a little while.
- 52:01Speaker 7: I love a good T-Pain song.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Oh, this guy is hilarious. High-larious. Tony Hale played Veep,
- 52:14Speaker 1: and he was Buster in Arrested Development. I laugh when
- 52:19Speaker 1: I say it. Tony, I've been re-watching Arrested Development, and
- 52:23Speaker 1: I just cry. Just cry.
- 52:25Speaker 7: They don't make them like that anymore.
- 52:28Speaker 1: No, they do not. You got to rewatch them to
- 52:31Speaker 1: get all of the things in that they cram in.
- 52:34Speaker 1: It's a lot like 30 Rock. The writing is unbelievable. Anyway,
- 52:38Speaker 1: I digress. Tony Hill's 56 today. Jenna Elfman, she's about
- 52:44Speaker 1: six foot five, is 55 today. I don't think she's
- 52:47Speaker 1: that tall, but she's tall. Just saying.
- 52:51Speaker 5: Just in case you're wondering how tall she is. Apparently
- 52:54Speaker 5: she's still about six five.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yeah, very tall. Tomorrow, since we're not here, Julie Andrews. Wow,
- 53:02Speaker 1: 91 tomorrow. How about that? The very strange Randy Quaid,
- 53:09Speaker 1: Dennis's brother, is 76 tomorrow. I've got a great Randy
- 53:14Speaker 1: Quaid story I'll tell you one of these days.
- 53:17Speaker 7: Wonderful.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Isai Morales from NYPD Blue is 64 tomorrow. Cindy Margulies, ooh,
- 53:24Speaker 1: she could act in her day. She is 61 tomorrow,
- 53:29Speaker 1: and this guy I find equally hilarious. Zach Galifianakis is
- 53:37Speaker 1: 57 tomorrow. I just look at him and laugh. But
- 53:43Speaker 1: Between Two Ferns is just an all-time classic. It is.
- 53:48Speaker 10: I like it.
- 53:50Speaker 1: And that's probably enough, don't you think?
- 53:53Speaker 7: I mean, that was a decent amount of birthdays.
- 53:54Speaker 1: I mean, that's a pretty good amount of birthdays. And
- 53:57Speaker 1: a lot of people in their 90s, which makes me
- 54:00Speaker 1: feel younger. Yeah, good for you. Okay.
- 54:04Speaker 7: Anything to make you feel younger, you know?
- 54:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not much these days. We'll talk next week. Mallory,
- 54:10Speaker 1: that's the truth, is brought to us by Southwest Card World.

- 55:17Speaker 13: Dallas Cowboys are back in the States after falling to
- 55:19Speaker 13: the Baltimore Ravens in Rio in dramatic fashion.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Sunday, 34-31.
- 55:23Speaker 13: The loss has led to many questions, including head coach
- 55:27Speaker 13: Brian Schottenheimer's play calling in the red zone. He spoke
- 55:30Speaker 13: after the loss on the goal line plays.
- 55:33Speaker 10: Yeah, we stuck with the plan down there, Clarence. We
- 55:36Speaker 10: really liked the movement play. The Dax left. They actually
- 55:41Speaker 10: lined up wrong. When you look at the defense, they
- 55:43Speaker 10: lined up wrong. I wish I would have had a
- 55:44Speaker 10: run on there because it would have walked in. But,
- 55:48Speaker 10: you know, that was the plan. We wanted to get
- 55:50Speaker 10: down there. They played a real heavy front. You know,
- 55:52Speaker 10: they put in six big guys along the edge, and
- 55:55Speaker 10: we liked some of the matchups that we had on
- 55:56Speaker 10: the outside with our guys. And, you know, again, at
- 56:00Speaker 10: the end of the day, you know, didn't make enough
- 56:03Speaker 10: plays to win as a football team.
- 56:05Speaker 13: The Cowboys will travel to Houston this weekend to play
- 56:07Speaker 13: the 0-3 Houston Texans on Sunday, kickoff scheduled for noon.
- 56:12Speaker 13: With your Dallas Cowboys report, I'm Dylan Moore.
