- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn French with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and as always, Luna is here with me. Luna: Hi! So, last time we were asking for directions, and I totally got lost in my head trying to remember left from right. Lucas: That's because you were thinking in English. But today, we're going to take it easy and review something we covered a while back: the days of the week. Luna: Oh, I remember those. But I'm a bit fuzzy on the order. Let's go through them again. Lucas: Perfect. We'll say each one slowly, then we'll use them in little sentences. Ready? The first day is lundi. Listen: lundi. Luna: Lundi. That's Monday, right? Lucas: Exactly. Monday is lundi. Now, Tuesday is mardi. Try it: mardi. Luna: Mardi. Mardi. That's Tuesday. Lucas: Yes. And Wednesday is mercredi. Repeat: mercredi. Luna: Mercredi. That's a bit tricky, but I'll keep practicing. Mercredi. Lucas: You've got it. Thursday is jeudi. Say it with me: jeudi. Luna: Jeudi. Jeudi. Okay, that one's not too bad. Lucas: And Friday is vendredi. Try it: vendredi. Luna: Vendredi. Vendredi. Sounds like weekend is close. Lucas: Almost. Saturday is samedi. Repeat: samedi. Luna: Samedi. Samedi. And Sunday? Lucas: Sunday is dimanche. Listen: dimanche. Luna: Dimanche. Dimanche. Good. Now I remember them all. Lucas: Let's put them in a little sentence. If I say, 'Je travaille lundi' – that means 'I work on Monday.' Can you say that? Luna: Je travaille lundi. So that's using lundi to say when you work. Lucas: Exactly. And 'Je me repose dimanche' – 'I rest on Sunday.' Try it. Luna: Je me repose dimanche. That's nice. So we can use the days with activities. Lucas: You got it. Now let's do a quick recap. I'll say the day in English, you say it in French. Monday? Luna: Lundi. Lucas: Tuesday? Luna: Mardi. Lucas: Wednesday? Luna: Mercredi. Lucas: Thursday? Luna: Jeudi. Lucas: Friday? Luna: Vendredi. Lucas: Saturday? Luna: Samedi. Lucas: Sunday? Luna: Dimanche. That was fun. I feel more confident now. Lucas: Great.
