- 1:44Speaker 1: come on this podcast.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Christian McCaffrey.
- 1:47Speaker 4: We have landed in boys yeah, and cemac he's been
- 1:51Speaker 4: a fan of the pod.
- 1:52Speaker 3: He's been a fan of the brand at least for
- 1:54Speaker 3: a while now.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I remember when Matt I and I have sent me
- 1:56Speaker 4: a photo they were they were flying to go to
- 1:58Speaker 4: a game on Saturday, London, and he's like, hey, will
- 2:01Speaker 4: the boy Christian wanted me to let you know that
- 2:03Speaker 4: he bought this hat that gobble that wi the boy.
- 2:07Speaker 4: The boy Christian wanted to let you know that he
- 2:09Speaker 4: bought this hat with his own money, which obviously fired
- 2:11Speaker 4: all of us.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Dude, because the merch has been hitting. But it's great
- 2:15Speaker 1: to see a gentleman like himself who could easily just
- 2:17Speaker 1: dm us and be like, give us one who's like.
- 2:19Speaker 4: He's a friend now, but it's not like now like
- 2:21Speaker 4: he was he was a friend of ours. When that
- 2:23Speaker 4: will happen, He's just like, yeah, I'm a fan. I
- 2:25Speaker 4: want to support. Yeah, come out of his own pocket.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Speaking of merc, you have you looked behind you? Have
- 2:30Speaker 4: you seen that.
- 2:33Speaker 3: The fucking boys are back there? Dude, boys, I am
- 2:36Speaker 3: fired up.
- 2:36Speaker 4: This is obviously we've had what three three Saint Patty's
- 2:40Speaker 4: Day merch drops. Yeah, this is by far the best
- 2:43Speaker 4: one blessing with the fucking boys.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It's outstanding, fucking boys, And we're putting it out early
- 2:48Speaker 1: enough so that those of you who are ordering, maybe Garrett.
- 2:52Speaker 3: It's a favorite tell us.
- 2:53Speaker 1: When we need to order that buy to get it
- 2:55Speaker 1: by Saint Patty's Day, because we know how deliveries work
- 2:58Speaker 1: with barstools sometimes fantastic company, horrible delivery services.
- 3:01Speaker 3: They're probably not using.
- 3:02Speaker 1: FedEx because I have my because I had a deal
- 3:05Speaker 1: with the UPS. Well, the thing is they don't done
- 3:07Speaker 1: with ups by the way I got the Uh, they
- 3:09Speaker 1: don't have like the overnight option. Because some things are
- 3:11Speaker 1: print on demand.
- 3:12Speaker 4: You don't necessarily know that are gonna fly off the
- 3:13Speaker 4: shelves because we drop a lot of merch so.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It's hard for them to you know, they don't want
- 3:18Speaker 3: to have overhead or we's got a lot of items
- 3:20Speaker 3: we don't we don't have a lot of overhead stackings,
- 3:22Speaker 3: so we got to kind of print on demand.
- 3:23Speaker 4: But go ahead, sorry, you need probably a good cushion
- 3:26Speaker 4: of ten days, ten business days, Garret would agree, Garret
- 3:32Speaker 4: ten business days or ten days, just buy it now.
- 3:36Speaker 4: That's a great that's a great, dude.
- 3:38Speaker 1: What you need to be Listen, everyone's gonna go out
- 3:40Speaker 1: in Sat Patas. They're going to have the greatest time
- 3:43Speaker 1: of their lives in Chicago. They're dying the river Green.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We don't know what that's gonna do the ecosystem. But
- 3:47Speaker 1: we do know that they're gonna have a fantastic time
- 3:49Speaker 1: there worldwide, right, everyone's.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Irish for that day.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Kiss me if I'm a Irish you wear you don't
- 3:54Speaker 1: wear green, You get the pinch, you get that little bit.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But we're boozing. We're having a great time. We're fucking
- 3:59Speaker 1: boozing out their boys and girls.
- 4:00Speaker 4: If you're rocking one of them, you don't gotta say
- 4:02Speaker 4: kiss me on my rish. You just gotta say kiss me.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I'm a boy, Yeah, kiss me, I'm a boy.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I'm a boy. That merch dude, print that no one printed.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Don't you guys fucking make that shirt, dude, we're making
- 4:12Speaker 1: it for next I want if.
- 4:14Speaker 4: You're out in the wild on one Patrick's day, not you,
- 4:18Speaker 4: just the the boys, yeah, human human beings. Yeah, even
- 4:21Speaker 4: if even the girls that are supporting our merchant.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, because I don't know if you can demographic, but
- 4:25Speaker 1: we're like at seven percent now women.
- 4:28Speaker 3: So things are getting you think.
- 4:33Speaker 4: If you're rocking some of our Saint Patty's emrch. What
- 4:36Speaker 4: I what we would personally love to see is have
- 4:39Speaker 4: one of your fellow mates take a video while you
- 4:42Speaker 4: walk up and say, hey, kiss me.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I'm a boy.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, a boy, and you get that with the
- 4:46Speaker 4: shirt with while we're in the merch. I feel like
- 4:48Speaker 4: that game over. That's a automatic retweeting my book. That's
- 4:51Speaker 4: an automatic ret an automatical retweeting the book viral.
- 4:54Speaker 3: You gotta have that.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Speaking of viral, dude, Jake Paul lost first time ever,
- 4:58Speaker 1: first time ever?
- 5:00Speaker 3: How many how many fights? I don't know.
- 5:02Speaker 1: He was fighting middle aged men, uh and YouTubers. Now,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I am a fan of the Paul brothers. I'm a
- 5:08Speaker 1: big fan of that. But that's like the big criticism
- 5:10Speaker 1: that's coming out of there. Tommy fiery, who's a legit boxer,
- 5:14Speaker 1: allegedly Dave Portner, I didn't think so. He was in
- 5:15Speaker 1: the Joe Rogan podcast. He said he's not. Joe Rogan
- 5:18Speaker 1: is the first time I saw him get a little
- 5:19Speaker 1: fiery at Dave because they were kind of in a
- 5:21Speaker 1: limbo of like, oh, we're going to be friends there
- 5:23Speaker 1: courting each other in front of his for three hours.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Dave was firing up Joe. Dave was firing was nice
- 5:28Speaker 3: as you watched the first He's not a real box
- 5:30Speaker 3: He's not a real boxer, and it's put decision.
- 5:33Speaker 1: What I was told, what I heard because I didn't
- 5:35Speaker 1: I wasn't able to watch it yesterday, had a great
- 5:37Speaker 1: day with the kids.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Didn't watch it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I heard Tommy Fiery owned that fight the entire time,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and it wasn't It wasn't a great showing. Jake really, yeah,
- 5:48Speaker 1: well you know that. I mean, that's just how it rolls.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Sometimes the doves a dub. They don't ask how, they
- 5:51Speaker 1: ask how many. That's what the fucking deal is boys.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And I didn't.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I did see a post fight interview with Jake Paul.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I did not like the way he handled himself.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I see, I did not get to see them.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I was he fra He blamed Drake for the loss.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Drake put four hundred thousand dollars on him the day
- 6:08Speaker 5: before the Drake curses.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Back in effect he shoulder Injuryke.
- 6:13Speaker 5: He followed, he goes, you shouldn't have bet on me.
- 6:15Speaker 5: He goes, this all falls on Drake, and then he
- 6:17Speaker 5: that was like, I.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Think more of like his that was a joke. That
- 6:19Speaker 3: was a joke interview.
- 6:21Speaker 5: And then he was like, you know, we don't look
- 6:23Speaker 5: at my wins, we look at our losses and I'll
- 6:25Speaker 5: be back and better than ever.
- 6:27Speaker 2: And he's like, my shoulder was heard.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was like sick through He's sick twice during cam.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Every excuse in the book, and then he's like, I'm
- 6:34Speaker 5: not making excuse me, like you know, so doing that
- 6:36Speaker 5: whole thing.
- 6:37Speaker 3: And it's tough.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, Jake Paul beat my ass in a fight, no
- 6:40Speaker 1: fucking question, Dude, does your boy know how to throw hands?
- 6:42Speaker 3: I don't know, it's been a long time.
- 6:44Speaker 4: You'll throw a fist hard, and a fist hard and fast,
- 6:46Speaker 4: but I get over extended quick and I probably get
- 6:49Speaker 4: beat two pieces.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You gotta land, Yeah, I'm sure if I landed on Jakie,
- 6:53Speaker 1: he might go night and night. But also, your boy's
- 6:56Speaker 1: gonna catch two pieces of a side of biscuits.
- 6:58Speaker 4: If he's that's if he's looking, if he's not looking,
- 7:00Speaker 4: I guarantee I beat Jake Paul's asked you, I probably
- 7:03Speaker 4: get him both asked.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I get both the Paul brothers. I'm a fan. I'm
- 7:06Speaker 3: a fan of them.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I love what they've done, their pivots, they've made obviously
- 7:10Speaker 1: hold the whole thing with the forest back in the day,
- 7:12Speaker 1: but they were big on vine for a little bit
- 7:13Speaker 1: YouTubers and we're big Vine voye.
- 7:16Speaker 3: We're a big Vine voice, and so I do. I didn't.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I didn't like the I didn't like the postgame interview.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I didn't like that. But overall, I hope the boy
- 7:23Speaker 1: comes back. I hope they have another fight, and I
- 7:25Speaker 1: hope Jake wins.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 4: There's people saying they don't wouldn't give a shit about
- 7:29Speaker 4: a rematch, just like, ultimately, what's the rematch about?
- 7:31Speaker 5: I think it was only if Jake lost. There's a
- 7:33Speaker 5: clause in the contract where he can actually right.
- 7:35Speaker 4: A legal clause in the contract. But like you, almost
- 7:38Speaker 4: the somebody.
- 7:40Speaker 2: They make more money.
- 7:40Speaker 5: They're gonna make fucking five million more each probably off
- 7:43Speaker 5: a rematch, and pay per view will eat it up
- 7:46Speaker 5: because it's Jake Paul.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And he's in the center of attention right now.
- 7:49Speaker 4: But do you think I feel like the views and
- 7:51Speaker 4: stuff would be a lot lower going to see a rematch.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I'm sure it's almost the pool too.
- 7:55Speaker 4: It is you want to see Jake finally beat somebody
- 7:57Speaker 4: that's got some ability in the boxing room.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah that's a professional box Yeah, it's a professional boxer.
- 8:02Speaker 4: And since he lost to him, it's almost like this
- 8:04Speaker 4: guy Tommy furious, like, well, what does he do now?
- 8:06Speaker 3: Do is he fight for the title?
- 8:07Speaker 4: No, he's not even that good of a boxer and
- 8:10Speaker 4: somebody else he just goes and fight somebody else in
- 8:12Speaker 4: the middle to for making bags. Yeah, and and winning
- 8:16Speaker 4: like there, and he had so much fucking going on
- 8:19Speaker 4: or surrounding that. And Jake's like doing the videos the
- 8:21Speaker 4: night before talking about double down, double the bed. If
- 8:24Speaker 4: you win, he gets he'll pay double. If he loses,
- 8:27Speaker 4: he gets nothing. Doing all this stuff, like hearing all
- 8:29Speaker 4: that trash talk and still like going out there and winning,
- 8:32Speaker 4: and it sounds like like winning every round pretty much. Besides,
- 8:35Speaker 4: like he got knocked down for a second in the
- 8:37Speaker 4: eighth round, like he's opped up right. Beside from that,
- 8:43Speaker 4: it's like, you know, good for him on on on
- 8:44Speaker 4: beating Jake Paul. It's like the Paul brothers, Like Jake
- 8:47Speaker 4: Paul specifically, he's done such a genius job of placing
- 8:50Speaker 4: himself in the spotlight. Well yeah, Logan Paul. But I'm saying,
- 8:54Speaker 4: like jake'sone out there, like yeah, Logan Paul, He's.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a little delusion all about how many rounds
- 9:00Speaker 1: he won, and I don't know boxing like that, but
- 9:03Speaker 1: I watched I watched that fight, and it really didn't
- 9:05Speaker 1: seem like yeah, but.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Either way, you're out there fighting one of the one
- 9:07Speaker 4: of the grace of all time. All brothers have went
- 9:10Speaker 4: about their entire careers and journeys and everything that put
- 9:13Speaker 4: themselves in the middle of the spotlight. We're talking about
- 9:15Speaker 4: showtime boxing, a pay per view, and he's legitimately trying
- 9:19Speaker 4: to box. Yes, he lost to somebody that's not considered
- 9:23Speaker 4: a good boxer in the sport, but also it's like
- 9:26Speaker 4: he's out there fucking He's brought himself all the way
- 9:29Speaker 4: to that. Now, some of the antics he's done along
- 9:31Speaker 4: the way I'm not been a massive fan of, but
- 9:33Speaker 4: you can't knock like the hustle and like the creative
- 9:35Speaker 4: genius behind having all that attention on you at all times, and.
- 9:39Speaker 3: The antics he does too.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And I think that's the main specific thing I think
- 9:43Speaker 1: about a suicide forest in Japan, Logan Logan, but okay,
- 9:47Speaker 1: go just just based off that. In general, Logan I
- 9:49Speaker 1: thought did a phenomenal job of apologizing made a mistake.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Now let's move on, Like let's fucking these hilaryers. You're
- 9:54Speaker 3: like addressing it like there's some like yeah, but people
- 9:57Speaker 3: still bring it up. I'm bringing it up right now.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, he apologized. I don't think what's happening
- 10:02Speaker 4: out there right now about the forest the.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Only one they like they bunched because I don't even
- 10:07Speaker 1: know which one it was, and then one of them
- 10:09Speaker 1: did it and they're like, fuck the Paul brothers. Like, dude,
- 10:11Speaker 1: the Paul Brothers have been absolutely genius about the way
- 10:13Speaker 1: they've handled themselves.
- 10:14Speaker 3: They've they've maneuvered this game very well.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I think we've sucked him off enough. Let's go to
- 10:20Speaker 1: let's go TOMC a little bit.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Good.
- 10:22Speaker 1: What an interesting conversation we had with this guy. Obviously,
- 10:25Speaker 1: the loss was still big. He didn't care who won
- 10:27Speaker 1: the who won the big game, the Super Bowl, He
- 10:30Speaker 1: didn't care who won that. But the most interesting thing
- 10:32Speaker 1: to me when it was him talking about his dad
- 10:36Speaker 1: and had the stories his fucking dad. Dude was running
- 10:40Speaker 1: a fucking sweatshop in the McCaffrey house. He was the
- 10:43Speaker 1: kids had to go to sleep at seven thirty, No sweets. Oh,
- 10:46Speaker 1: I was about to tell a story he told us
- 10:47Speaker 1: not to tell because he knew that Dad would be upset,
- 10:50Speaker 1: they would get grounded, They would be grounded if they
- 10:53Speaker 1: were tackled by their jersey.
- 10:55Speaker 3: It was. It was wild. But honestly, you guys are
- 10:58Speaker 3: gonna love You look at.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Christian now and you're like, maybe that's how we should
- 11:01Speaker 1: all parent.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, like they they you know with Eddie McCaffery, right, Eddie.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, when he became an adulty probably started going by
- 11:10Speaker 1: ed Yeah. Yeah, but brought like Broncos receivers done. Figured
- 11:14Speaker 1: it out, Yeah, figured it out.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yes, he was. You can tell.
- 11:18Speaker 4: The McCaffrey family is super fucking competitive.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah, super competitive, Like you're not.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Getting your dinner if you're not, like they're on time,
- 11:26Speaker 5: like people are eating.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yeah, who's eating fastest too?
- 11:29Speaker 2: It's like, oh man, scary household.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It scary household.
- 11:33Speaker 5: He was like, you could tell he like resented that
- 11:35Speaker 5: behavior when he was a kid, but then like as.
- 11:38Speaker 3: He became an adult appreciates it.
- 11:41Speaker 1: That was everything the mold in my fe Yeah, incredible
- 11:43Speaker 1: foundational blocks.
- 11:45Speaker 3: But one thing too.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Christian walked downstairs when we were in the middle of
- 11:49Speaker 1: another interview that'll come out next week with Shane Gillis.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And Burt Kreischer and Bert asked Shane who he would
- 11:56Speaker 1: rather either fuck or get fucked by me, and then
- 12:01Speaker 1: you were like, hey, can you get Christian? And you
- 12:03Speaker 1: saw Shane light up like a Christmas tree. Dude. Yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 1: and McCaffrey walks down, and then we fucking brought him
- 12:10Speaker 1: in it and the start of this whole interview, I
- 12:12Speaker 1: think we talk about who he would fuck, and so
- 12:16Speaker 1: it's an amazing It's an amazing deal. Other than that, brother,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I mean, we got a lot of stuff under the
- 12:22Speaker 1: hood came out, the mini golf came out.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Bus scenes are out. Dude.
- 12:27Speaker 1: There's so much more than this podcast that's happening under
- 12:29Speaker 1: the umbrella. A bust with the boys, especially on our
- 12:32Speaker 1: YouTube that you guys can go check out. I think
- 12:33Speaker 1: you guys will really enjoy it, a little bit behind
- 12:35Speaker 1: the scenes of how we work.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Spoiler alert.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Will and I are the same on the pod as
- 12:39Speaker 1: we were off the pod. It's a fun time. I
- 12:41Speaker 1: Will showed me a video before we started this episode
- 12:43Speaker 1: of some bullshit that I knew, but I'm glad this
- 12:46Speaker 1: video evidence that you waving waving your little stick while
- 12:49Speaker 1: I'm in the middle of a big time putt. Yeah,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and we were look key, I'm trying to be on
- 12:53Speaker 1: the same team at that point.
- 12:55Speaker 3: We were, but we weren't well obviously we're doing some
- 12:57Speaker 3: other ship couple down holes. I'm trying to get back
- 13:00Speaker 3: in it. Yeah, you're trying to get back in and
- 13:01Speaker 3: it's I fucking noticed that. I noticed that. You go
- 13:03Speaker 3: watch the mini golf. You go watch the mini golf.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You're gonna see. We were with missus Portnoy and Dave.
- 13:10Speaker 1: They're a great group of people. Dave's fun to be around,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and I knew missus Portnoy was a wolf in sheep's
- 13:16Speaker 1: clothing the entire time. Yeah, she comes off very sweet, hey,
- 13:20Speaker 1: good luck, very gentle handshake.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and you could tell that she was.
- 13:26Speaker 1: She she was acting some type of way that is
- 13:28Speaker 1: fucking bullshit. Will And you didn't say nothing, you little bitch.
- 13:32Speaker 3: I just said what, Well, I'm not the fairness like.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I don't like. I didn't even remember that I did.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Then I saw the video. That's not true. I brought
- 13:39Speaker 3: up a minute you did it.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah, but you're still in such a competitive nature, You're
- 13:42Speaker 4: you're not seeing straight, you're not thinking clearly.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I was nflostd at that point and then the back nine,
- 13:48Speaker 1: you know, and she finished the same scores.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that was. Imagine playing the mini golf with the mccaffreys.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Dude, dude, we probably beat their ass. We should we
- 13:58Speaker 1: should play the mccafrey.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Do you know all the dads out there that are
- 14:01Speaker 4: super hard on their kids are going to have this
- 14:04Speaker 4: interview in their back pocket.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Oh my yeah, my dad too. Like I remember, I
- 14:08Speaker 3: remember we were traveling to make weight. I was like.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Nine, maybe eight or nine, and I'm traveling to make
- 14:14Speaker 4: weight at a wrestling tournament. All we can have for
- 14:17Speaker 4: lunch or whatever or eat is a protein hick that
- 14:19Speaker 4: was already prepacked like nothing else. And I remember I'm
- 14:22Speaker 4: literally bawling in the back seat, being so hungry because
- 14:25Speaker 4: I have to make weight. You know, I'm saying for
- 14:27Speaker 4: the old man, but like to make weight to wrestling shit.
- 14:29Speaker 4: But like, yeah, you know them.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Dads, brother, I got one, I got one.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, we're we're at the YMCA. There was a three
- 14:36Speaker 1: point competition in my basketball league. Your boy, I was
- 14:39Speaker 1: like Steph Curry before Steph Curry about when I was
- 14:42Speaker 1: eight years old. I put that shit down. I'm playing
- 14:44Speaker 1: wallball with my buddies. Before that hit, it spray my wrist,
- 14:48Speaker 1: end up falling out of the tournament. End up falling
- 14:51Speaker 1: out of the tournament eight years old. The next day,
- 14:53Speaker 1: my dad wasn't in town. My dad gets in town
- 14:55Speaker 1: that night.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I go to sleep.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I wake up the next day and my dad's like
- 14:59Speaker 1: high five and high five with the same hand that
- 15:01Speaker 1: I heard. He goes that's crazy and keeps walking like
- 15:04Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, you could have shot that damn ball.
- 15:08Speaker 3: You could have shot that.
- 15:09Speaker 1: And I know you watched this fucking podcast, Dave. I
- 15:12Speaker 1: know you watched this podcast.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I tell you're about to say he has you shooting
- 15:14Speaker 4: one thousand and three pointers.
- 15:16Speaker 3: No, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:18Speaker 1: He was like he would always try to get us
- 15:19Speaker 1: to gain weight, and when there was a jack in
- 15:20Speaker 1: the box right by his apartment, and he would take
- 15:23Speaker 1: us and get like a double bacon cheeseburger and he'd
- 15:25Speaker 1: be like, you think you could eat all that?
- 15:27Speaker 3: He'd be like trying to.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Get you to try to get me to gain weight,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and he'd be like eat it, eat it all, and
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'd be like, can't pussy. I'd be like, yeah, I
- 15:33Speaker 1: can I get halfway that burger. I'm like, fuck, dude,
- 15:35Speaker 1: this is too much, and he'd be like, finish it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I'm not paying that money, not for you to finish
- 15:38Speaker 1: that in this like low key crying, like trying to
- 15:41Speaker 1: eat the burger.
- 15:42Speaker 4: The old man he'd be like he'd questioned me because
- 15:45Speaker 4: I'd walk too heavy in the house. You beg you
- 15:47Speaker 4: need to walk on your toes more. And you know,
- 15:51Speaker 4: I'm just sitting there looking at him like all right,
- 15:53Speaker 4: all right, you're walking too heavy foot around the house. Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 4: fuck man. But yeah, these these uh, these they're gonna

- 17:16Speaker 3: Are there the stars? That's all? The number of states? Yes,
- 17:19Speaker 3: that's good. What do the bars mean?
- 17:23Speaker 4: The initial thirteen? The initial thirteen?
- 17:27Speaker 3: That's thirteen?
- 17:28Speaker 6: What?
- 17:29Speaker 3: Oh? Oh my god? States? Colonies. Yeah, thank god.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Right, no, it's colonies correct, But I'm about it because
- 17:40Speaker 4: I do want to make that clear. Will just through
- 17:42Speaker 4: in state's colonies. I know we had a little deal
- 17:44Speaker 4: right there, Like, was it seventeen seventy six, what's that?
- 17:47Speaker 4: Seventeen seventy four.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Seventeen seventy six, July fourth, seventeen seventy six. Yeah, brother,
- 17:53Speaker 3: everything else before that doesn't matter. It doesn't fucking matter.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I was actually doing rehabit my new rehab spot, because
- 17:58Speaker 1: your boys, my code doesn't work it Titans facility anymore.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I went to Empower.
- 18:02Speaker 1: There was a girl there. Her name is Georgia. By
- 18:04Speaker 1: the way, this guy named Daniel I worked with today,
- 18:06Speaker 1: he knows his shit. My knee, it's feeling, it's getting better.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I did one day with that guy, and I was like,
- 18:12Speaker 1: holy fuck, like this guy knows what he's doing very exactly.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I've Georgia, Yeah, I was.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But Georgia is from across the pond, she's from London.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I go, hey, you guys were really doing well until
- 18:23Speaker 1: about seventeen seventy six. She goes, she goes, yeah, and
- 18:26Speaker 1: you guys had to dump a bunch of our best
- 18:28Speaker 1: liquid you know where that was from.
- 18:29Speaker 3: You know, Liqui, she's talking about the Boston tea party.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Got us correct?
- 18:34Speaker 4: Friend, boy, Look, I had a little dicey situation fifty
- 18:39Speaker 4: to fifty one when Pluto got taken out of the
- 18:40Speaker 4: Milky Way through me for.
- 18:41Speaker 3: A little You know that's pretty nine.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Now, I say, there are other parts like Puerto Rico
- 18:48Speaker 1: and other things that are technically a part of the
- 18:50Speaker 1: United States, but they're not technically states.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Do you know what they are? You're talking about the
- 18:56Speaker 3: Puerto Rico, Costa Rica?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there. I don't think Costa Rica is a part
- 19:02Speaker 1: of the United States.
- 19:03Speaker 3: It's not. Oh is that God? You're gonna say it?
- 19:07Speaker 1: If it was multiple choices to say, I'm gonna let you,
- 19:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you bask in and maybe.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Off, how would you guys have multiple choice answers for
- 19:13Speaker 4: me without saying the right one, because.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I'll obviously figure that out.
- 19:18Speaker 2: That's amusing.
- 19:19Speaker 1: My man is trying to work through his ship right now. No,
- 19:22Speaker 1: you doesn't understand the United States is a constitutional republic.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, man, Look, history like social studies and history.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Was not my gig. I was math and science. I
- 19:34Speaker 4: wasn't English and social studies. I feel like you're either
- 19:36Speaker 4: half of those or the other.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, half or the other.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You know what the crazy thing is if you were
- 19:39Speaker 1: trying to think it, if you were not from the
- 19:40Speaker 1: United States and you had to take an immigration test,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you'd fail the test.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I would not because I'd actually study hard. You're a
- 19:46Speaker 3: good studier. I can study. Yeah, your boy a good
- 19:48Speaker 3: study guy. You don't get a twenty nine and act
- 19:50Speaker 3: like me, but yeah, you're still good, no doubt. I
- 19:52Speaker 3: think I got like a twenty.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I mean, you a Spanish test and get a seventy
- 19:56Speaker 1: five in the class after having a thirty five like me.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Bro, But that is Listen, all.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Right, we're gonna hit it one more time, dude, our
- 20:03Speaker 1: whistle pig bust with the boys.

- 20:08Speaker 3: tell them what they're gonna taste. Oh, tell them I
- 20:17Speaker 3: felt a hammock. Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Listen, boys, when you put that up to your lips,
- 20:20Speaker 1: when you put in your mouth at first, you're gonna
- 20:22Speaker 1: feel a little heat up front. As it goes down,
- 20:25Speaker 1: you're gonna get that nice like almost like a black
- 20:27Speaker 1: pepper and a crushed black black pepper.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Type of heat going down.
- 20:31Speaker 1: As it goes further and further down, it's getting enustle
- 20:33Speaker 1: right on top of that stomach, like a hammock in
- 20:35Speaker 1: the wind. On a hot, warm day, You're gonna feel
- 20:38Speaker 1: something extremely special. I've said it once, I'll say that
- 20:40Speaker 1: thousand times. I'm gonna keep saying it. When it's winter
- 20:43Speaker 1: it's gonna keep you warm, and in the summertime it's
- 20:45Speaker 1: gonna keep you nice and cool. Or this Bust with

- 21:04Speaker 1: So please God, we need to get this thing out.

- 21:17Speaker 1: order now, posit or it?
- 21:19Speaker 3: Now? What do you got? Shout out, no free shout out.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Gotta have it, yeah, gotta have the shot out, no
- 21:24Speaker 3: free shoutout.
- 21:26Speaker 1: You know what, I don't know if a whistle pick
- 21:28Speaker 1: paid for shoutout, no free shout to be sponsored this week,
- 21:30Speaker 1: but we're gonna to let them happ it anyway.
- 21:32Speaker 4: This segment of shout Out, no free shoutout is sponsored
- 21:34Speaker 4: by our Busting with the Boys Whistle Pig Whiskey.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It's the ultimate shouts the gods. Here of the shout out,
- 21:39Speaker 1: no free shout out of the week. Now, boss, it's
- 21:43Speaker 1: been a few weeks. Brother, I know when you don't
- 21:45Speaker 1: get a lot of repetitions, you get a little nervous.
- 21:47Speaker 1: But let's hear your shout out, no free shadow of
- 21:49Speaker 1: the fucking week.
- 21:51Speaker 7: My shout out this week's not really an object, but
- 21:54Speaker 7: it's a moment in time and it usually happens when
- 21:57Speaker 7: you go and fill up your gas. So when you
- 22:00Speaker 7: go and fill up gas, whether you've left it, let
- 22:03Speaker 7: it get to e whether you know you just need
- 22:05Speaker 7: a little bit more. But that time frame, you know,
- 22:09Speaker 7: it could be short, it could be long, but it's
- 22:11Speaker 7: that time when your gas tank is filling up and
- 22:14Speaker 7: you could either check some emails, you could clean out
- 22:16Speaker 7: your car, empty it out.
- 22:19Speaker 3: But yeah, my shout out. No free shoutout goes to.
- 22:21Speaker 7: That moment in time when you're filling up your car,
- 22:24Speaker 7: get some things done, being productive, being productive. There you go,
- 22:27Speaker 7: being productive in that moment.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, think that often. I'm thinking, here we go, what
- 22:32Speaker 3: moment in time? Would you say that one time bread?
- 22:36Speaker 3: It's like a loaf of bread. Yeah, it's more of
- 22:40Speaker 3: the presentation. Yeah, it's always got one delivery. It's like,
- 22:43Speaker 3: where are those words gonna fumble out his mouth? That's
- 22:45Speaker 3: gonna be correct at time or they're going to be
- 22:47Speaker 3: He's like, He's like.
- 22:50Speaker 4: So, so here's my deal, Jack, what do you got stud.
- 22:55Speaker 2: My shoutow, no free shout out.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Uh, mister McCaffrey, Christians is not going to like marshall
- 23:00Speaker 5: out this week, but it's necessary. Everyone's My shout out
- 23:05Speaker 5: goes to binge watching TV. And I know that that
- 23:08Speaker 5: is a big no no in the McCaffrey house, but
- 23:11Speaker 5: in the McPherson household, we thrive on it.
- 23:13Speaker 2: So yesterday it was with the roommates.
- 23:15Speaker 5: We had a fun Saturday and nothing really going on Sunday,
- 23:19Speaker 5: and we popped out in like three or four different
- 23:22Speaker 5: shows we've all been collectively watching, and we ended up
- 23:25Speaker 5: being on like a season finale, and at the end
- 23:27Speaker 5: of the day, like when it's all sudden and.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Done, I'm walking up to my room and I'm like, damn.
- 23:32Speaker 5: That was just a good day with the boys. We
- 23:34Speaker 5: didn't do much, but we did everything we wanted to.
- 23:37Speaker 5: So shout out no free shout out binge watching TV.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Though, speaking of TV, Jack, what'd you think episode seven
- 23:45Speaker 4: of The Last of Us?
- 23:46Speaker 3: Don't say too much. I'm on episode two still.
- 23:48Speaker 5: I feel like they were trying to force a narrative
- 23:50Speaker 5: that wasn't necessarily there between the two girls.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Yeah, fourteen year olds.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Yeah, like we could have waited maybe a year or
- 23:59Speaker 5: two on that one. It seemed a little predictable, like
- 24:03Speaker 5: what was gonna happen at the end, But at the
- 24:06Speaker 5: end of it all, I also think it was a
- 24:08Speaker 5: set up episode that's gonna it was just some context.
- 24:11Speaker 2: My roommate didn't even realize that was an entire.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Flashback the entire episode at the end was so he
- 24:17Speaker 5: was like, dude, like, I'm just confused, and we're like
- 24:20Speaker 5: what yeah, and we're like, oh, dude, you're just.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Stupid, Like, oh, you're just dumb, brother.
- 24:25Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know.
- 24:26Speaker 5: It's it wasn't my favorite episode, but I did like
- 24:31Speaker 5: the backstory on it.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I guess that's as much I can say.
- 24:33Speaker 4: But you're one of the you you played the game? Yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 4: that was a lot of the The reaction when I'm
- 24:39Speaker 4: kind of talking shit on the episode was like, oh,
- 24:41Speaker 4: you got to play the video game or something, which
- 24:43Speaker 4: I understand, like if if this has read that redemption,
- 24:46Speaker 4: of course I'm enjoying whatever is on the screen in
- 24:48Speaker 4: front of me. But as far as like good TV,
- 24:50Speaker 4: they've done a couple of these filler episodes on like
- 24:53Speaker 4: flashbacks and setups to where it's like, hey, it's your
- 24:55Speaker 4: first season. You gotta get there. You got to keep
- 24:57Speaker 4: the audience. Now listen, I'm here to stay. I'm not
- 25:00Speaker 4: going anywhere. I love the show, but it's like.
- 25:02Speaker 5: The first episode where I was a little like we
- 25:05Speaker 5: I felt like there could have been a different way
- 25:07Speaker 5: to now again.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Leave a cliffhanger on the last one, now we see
- 25:10Speaker 4: what happened again. I'm not going to say a whole
- 25:12Speaker 4: lot like you, they left such a cliffhanger on the
- 25:15Speaker 4: last one, episode six at the very end, remember I
- 25:18Speaker 4: texted you very pissed off very upset. Now they addressed
- 25:23Speaker 4: in the beginning, but it's like, you don't want to
- 25:25Speaker 4: spend time on that when you've built up so much
- 25:27Speaker 4: emotion on it from episode six. Yeah, it's like, I
- 25:29Speaker 4: understand the flashback in the context, but let's reel in
- 25:33Speaker 4: that fucking thirty five to forty minutes of all that
- 25:35Speaker 4: context and like maybe ten or fifteen minutes.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like it would.
- 25:38Speaker 5: Have been like a beautiful way to show what she's
- 25:41Speaker 5: gone through and like what's right on currently. But yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 5: it felt like they were kind of like they could
- 25:48Speaker 5: have gotten out of that mall a lot quicker.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, Taylor.
- 25:50Speaker 4: A couple of our shout out know for shout outs
- 25:52Speaker 4: making an appearance on the episode Escalators being one of them,
- 25:55Speaker 4: and they just take so much time on just shit
- 25:57Speaker 4: that doesn't need to We literally watched we watched the
- 26:00Speaker 4: scene where they're playing Mortal Kombat.
- 26:03Speaker 3: We're watching them play it.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Oh that's not that's not big like on an indicator,
- 26:08Speaker 4: that's not like a spoiler lit. Yeah, like fuck yeah, mbat,
- 26:12Speaker 4: I really wanted to see that Mortal Kombat. Man, fucking
- 26:15Speaker 4: don't Actually, you don't know how to use a joystick
- 26:17Speaker 4: just because you've never seen one. Move that thing around
- 26:19Speaker 4: and hit the buttons and don't say there's too many buttons.
- 26:21Speaker 3: There's three.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Yeah, don't piss me off.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, Like I get you never seen the project.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah you didn't see my twitter rod.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Nah, I didn't see it one.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Oh but no, I felt like it was necessary to
- 26:35Speaker 4: talk about that just a little bit.
- 26:36Speaker 3: But hey, catch up, catch up. It'd be good to like,
- 26:38Speaker 3: I don't want to catch up, you should, I think so,
- 26:41Speaker 3: because it'd be good to break down the show. Yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 3: it'd be good to break down the show every week.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Like I'm always late to shows, dude, Like I just
- 26:47Speaker 1: kind of wait. People are obsessing of it, over it,
- 26:50Speaker 1: and I just kind of wait. And then a year
- 26:52Speaker 1: goes by, I'm like, I'm gonna break it out. I'm
- 26:53Speaker 1: gonna break out.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Which is a smart move because then you're not like
- 26:56Speaker 4: you don't have to sit and wait. You get to
- 26:57Speaker 4: kind of binge it.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I do hate waiting.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Like I when I been binge watched all four seasons
- 27:02Speaker 1: of Yellowstone, I was like, man, no, the four season.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I haven't watched the fifth season yet. I remember watching
- 27:08Speaker 1: episode and thinking to myself. People would probably think that
- 27:10Speaker 1: episode sucks because I had to wait, but I liked
- 27:13Speaker 1: it because I can go on to the next one
- 27:14Speaker 1: and then it would make more sense because then there's
- 27:16Speaker 1: not so much ebbs and flows of like that episode sucked.
- 27:19Speaker 1: That episode rock. You're just following a good storyline and
- 27:22Speaker 1: you're you're finding out where you're going.
- 27:24Speaker 3: I kind of did that right away.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Continues in the exception, like I watch the first two
- 27:27Speaker 1: episodes of Yellowstone, I'm like, I'm just gonna wait fIF
- 27:28Speaker 1: season to be over. I don't need to be the
- 27:30Speaker 1: who's who in the zoo of knowing what's going on
- 27:32Speaker 1: right now in time.
- 27:33Speaker 3: But that is also the fun part of being up
- 27:35Speaker 3: to date.
- 27:36Speaker 4: From a friendship standpoint episode, you know, the community going on.
- 27:38Speaker 3: With reacting to it.
- 27:39Speaker 1: By the way, when you guys were talking, I did
- 27:41Speaker 1: change my my shadow no Free Shadow. Nice when you guys,
- 27:44Speaker 1: because there's a couple of things you guys talked about.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Willie my shadow no Free Shadow goes to me. Over
- 27:50Speaker 4: the weekend, we were at the container Store and I'm
- 27:53Speaker 4: gonna get a great place. Yeah, great place, dude. The
- 27:55Speaker 4: container store is fucking awesome.
- 27:57Speaker 6: By the way, Yeah, it's about organizing the reason I'm
- 28:01Speaker 6: shouting out myself is because I feel like I did
- 28:04Speaker 6: a very boy move because you know how it is
- 28:06Speaker 6: in the Green Hills parking lot with the ma all.
- 28:08Speaker 4: You can't find parking in that main area where Cava
- 28:11Speaker 4: Cheesecake factory, all that the container store, all that stuff
- 28:14Speaker 4: is right there.
- 28:14Speaker 3: It's a nightmare going around.
- 28:16Speaker 4: When I was walking out to get my truck to leave,
- 28:19Speaker 4: I made eye contact with somebody that was looking for spots.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I literally waved.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Them over here, like, hey, I'm about to leave, you
- 28:24Speaker 4: can hold this spot. I waited for them to come around,
- 28:26Speaker 4: and then I get in my truck and I back
- 28:28Speaker 4: out and I give them the spot.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Damn.
- 28:29Speaker 4: That's kind of the it's more of the moment. But
- 28:31Speaker 4: you know, I enjoyed the shouting.
- 28:32Speaker 2: On myself too, I guarantee, yeah, dude.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Because again you're like, it's like musical chairs in there, bro,
- 28:39Speaker 4: and then you just get you know, you get really
- 28:41Speaker 4: quick tempered about it. You're yelling at some old lady.
- 28:45Speaker 1: But that's my shotow, no free shutout would love to
- 28:47Speaker 1: hear yours, my shadow, no free shodow. That's a phenomenal
- 28:50Speaker 1: shot out. No Free Shadow. By the way, that was
- 28:51Speaker 1: really good. That was really good. My shadow No Free
- 28:54Speaker 1: Shadow came to me when you guys were speaking about
- 28:57Speaker 1: talking about the Last of Us, and you brought up
- 29:00Speaker 1: something that just made my heart hurt a little bit,
- 29:05Speaker 1: and that was reda redemption. So my shout out, no
- 29:07Speaker 1: Free Shadow goes to Arthur Morgan, just the man who's
- 29:11Speaker 1: literally bro I've cried. I cried after that game. I
- 29:14Speaker 1: saw like a little baby. I've cried multiple times since
- 29:16Speaker 1: I've played that game, as early as a week and
- 29:19Speaker 1: a half agoing I'm.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Still mourning, and it's such a weird thing to mourn.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Not because it's a video game, because I'm I'm still
- 29:27Speaker 1: cool with that. It's the fact that I can go
- 29:29Speaker 1: back and see him whenever I want. But I'm scared
- 29:31Speaker 1: to I don't know if I can really go through
- 29:33Speaker 1: that emotional turmoil again even playing RD one.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Right now, I'm not as invested in John Marston, but
- 29:39Speaker 3: I do see.
- 29:40Speaker 1: That, like all this you're doing right now, John has
- 29:46Speaker 1: to do because Arthur Morgan gave you that opportunity, gave
- 29:49Speaker 1: you and your family that John Marston Yeah, and I'm
- 29:52Speaker 1: just like, I still feel paid in some nights when
- 29:54Speaker 1: I when I put the kids down and I have
- 29:56Speaker 1: a couple hours of myself before I go to sleep,
- 29:58Speaker 1: I think maybe I should play, but and my heart
- 30:00Speaker 1: hurts too bad and I just can't. So I pick
- 30:03Speaker 1: up the Oculus. I play a little Saints and Centers
- 30:05Speaker 1: because I'm not as emotionally attached. It's a fun little game.
- 30:08Speaker 1: But Shadow Arthur Morgan, dude, the greatest man I ever
- 30:11Speaker 1: knew in my entire life.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Bye didn't know are? Oh I know him? No? Oh,
- 30:16Speaker 3: I know the greatest man you've ever known?
- 30:18Speaker 4: Me?
- 30:18Speaker 1: YouTube Steve Dive YouTube is about how Arthur Morgan when
- 30:22Speaker 1: he was a kid, how he met Dutch and stuff
- 30:24Speaker 1: like that. Like they should be making the ship up,
- 30:26Speaker 1: and I'm like, I just feel like I've learned more
- 30:28Speaker 1: about my best friend. Yeah, because it is based on
- 30:31Speaker 1: a true story, I think everything is. That's what you
- 30:33Speaker 1: were saying before, Yop.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I think you're going with that.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I think we've knocked out everything so far to what
- 30:39Speaker 1: we were about thirty minutes in. Yeah, about thirty minutes
- 30:42Speaker 1: into fucking Rip and roll.

- 32:40Speaker 1: Christian mccaff mc Christian McCaffrey podcast, Big Hugs and Tiny Kisses. Hey,
- 32:45Speaker 1: Joe Melgome's another episode of Busting with the Boys.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Hope, the Great White Hope has arrived. Wilcome Christian. We're
- 32:53Speaker 3: at the Content House in Arizona.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Christian walks down the stairs, dude, and the first thing
- 32:57Speaker 1: he hears is Burt Kruscher asking who Shane would rather
- 33:03Speaker 1: fuck Mer or you, And Shane said to you and
- 33:06Speaker 1: that hurt.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw it. I saw he saw the hurt
- 33:08Speaker 3: of my face. Yeah, yeah, what what was your first
- 33:10Speaker 3: impression of that wed entrance to walk into I was
- 33:15Speaker 3: hurt for you, thank you, but definitely it wasn't wasn't
- 33:19Speaker 3: too shocked. I'm a fan of both those guys, so
- 33:21Speaker 3: I figured something like that would be what happen. Yeah.
- 33:24Speaker 3: I walked through the boys normal.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Conversations, and then when we finished, you were all about
- 33:28Speaker 1: what's up?
- 33:29Speaker 3: I was gonna say. I wouldn't say your.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Say when we when we finished the episode, like, you're
- 33:34Speaker 1: a big Shane Gillis fan, huh.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Huge, huge, I've seen the Austin stand up like fifteen times. Dude.
- 33:39Speaker 3: It is so fucking funny, and it gets funnier the
- 33:41Speaker 3: more you watch it, keep catching onto something you didn't
- 33:44Speaker 3: know he is.
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's the awkward. It's the awkward, like shoulder struck the best,
- 33:48Speaker 1: some tough, hard nose, run it down your throat.
- 33:51Speaker 3: And a clouded dust.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, he's so funny. He played football. Huh he
- 33:56Speaker 1: played football, did he really?
- 33:57Speaker 3: Yeah? At some like Naval academy, right.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Point point quick he did it. Yeah, like three weeks
- 34:02Speaker 1: he was like another one. I can't, I can't do
- 34:04Speaker 1: this anymore, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, he is.
- 34:10Speaker 3: He's fucking awesome. It's always great. It's always great having
- 34:13Speaker 3: them on, man.
- 34:14Speaker 4: But thanks for coming on though, bro, Like, I feel
- 34:15Speaker 4: like we've been connected for a little bit because like
- 34:18Speaker 4: we've seen you rock the merch, we've started following each other.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I'm just thinking, Yo, the fucking the boy. Yeah great, hope, Yeah, yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 4: he's following like that's fucking sick.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Yeah. How'd you get onto the how'd you get on
- 34:31Speaker 3: the bus? And I'm a fan of the pod for
- 34:34Speaker 3: a lot of reasons. Some of the guys in the
- 34:37Speaker 3: locker room. You guys haven't talked about pod in the
- 34:39Speaker 3: locker room, but uh no, but uh I'm a fan
- 34:46Speaker 3: of the pod for a lot of reasons. I think
- 34:47Speaker 3: there's not a lot of you know, when people think
- 34:51Speaker 3: of NFL players, it's always you know, this stardom individual
- 34:56Speaker 3: you know, it gets a lot of individual attention, not
- 34:58Speaker 3: kind of understanding the dynam the locker room. And you
- 35:02Speaker 3: have two guys who are on different spectrums and different
- 35:06Speaker 3: journeys of a football team who came together in a pod,
- 35:09Speaker 3: and a lot of your guys's podcasts are just it's
- 35:12Speaker 3: the locker room. And so for me, it's like, oh
- 35:14Speaker 3: my god, that's like I'm sitting in the car in
- 35:16Speaker 3: the off season throwing on a pod as I'm in
- 35:19Speaker 3: the locker room. Locker room with the boys. Feel that
- 35:21Speaker 3: and so I feel like a lot of other people
- 35:22Speaker 3: they they're you know, I don't know if they know that,
- 35:25Speaker 3: but subconsciously they're like, damn, that's probably what goes on
- 35:27Speaker 3: in the locker room. Yeah, I'm a fan. I really
- 35:29Speaker 3: am a fan. I like the pod a lot. Dude.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I'm so happy you said that, because that's literally, like
- 35:34Speaker 1: our whole goal is like everyone who you when you're
- 35:37Speaker 1: playing in the league, Like when you first get in
- 35:39Speaker 1: the lead, there's those year ten guys and they like
- 35:41Speaker 1: leave and they come back and you always ask them like, hey,
- 35:43Speaker 1: what do you miss And everybody says, there's a couple
- 35:45Speaker 1: of answers, but everyone always says they missed the boys,
- 35:48Speaker 1: They missed the locker room, and like, as you get older,
- 35:50Speaker 1: you kind of fear that. So when Will and I
- 35:52Speaker 1: started this like that, we wanted that to be the vibe.
- 35:54Speaker 1: We wanted to be the vibe where people are sitting down,
- 35:57Speaker 1: we're asking the same dumb questions Kobe or Lebron, Michael,
- 36:00Speaker 1: we're asking first time he jerked off, like just crazy like.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Conversations about the Lebron question. Yeah, but you know that's
- 36:07Speaker 3: always a question. It's always a question.
- 36:08Speaker 1: The locker was the first thing I came to my
- 36:10Speaker 1: It's a popular question. I don't think we have talked
- 36:11Speaker 1: about that, but it is, like, it's fucking awesome, dude,
- 36:14Speaker 1: and it's great to know that, like the forty nine
- 36:16Speaker 1: as they roll with.
- 36:17Speaker 3: The boys, it's the best. It was a good locker room.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Was kittle kind of steam had that? Yeah? I would
- 36:23Speaker 3: say so you know, for for me personally, I came
- 36:25Speaker 3: in in the middle of the year not knowing what
- 36:27Speaker 3: was going on. You know, I didn't know I knew people,
- 36:29Speaker 3: but didn't know people, which was a weird experience. But
- 36:33Speaker 3: you can just tell. I think there was twenty two
- 36:35Speaker 3: guys from the Super Bowl team a few years ago
- 36:37Speaker 3: who are still on the team. So they they'd set
- 36:40Speaker 3: a culture and a standard that had been there for
- 36:42Speaker 3: a while, and you know, I was just pumped up
- 36:45Speaker 3: to join them.
- 36:46Speaker 4: What was it like getting traded? It was a you're
- 36:49Speaker 4: you're the friend, You're like the face of the Panthers, like.
- 36:52Speaker 1: The fun when we would play you guys, they'd be like,
- 36:54Speaker 1: if you stop this guy, we have a chance to win.
- 36:57Speaker 3: He's going to touch the ball thirty times a game.
- 36:59Speaker 4: First overall draft pick from me Fantasy Football, thank you
- 37:01Speaker 4: for Holden's true I was like, Okay, he's had a
- 37:03Speaker 4: couple of.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Injury bugs last couple of years. This is he's gonna
- 37:05Speaker 3: get it right this year. Appreciate it.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Yeah, take us through that trade, bro because that's I mean,
- 37:09Speaker 4: that was a massive headline.
- 37:10Speaker 3: It was it was an you know, you hear about it,
- 37:14Speaker 3: but you never I don't know. For me, I never
- 37:16Speaker 3: thought i'd get traded. I thought I was a Panther forever.
- 37:18Speaker 3: I'm like, I bought a house there, this is home.
- 37:20Speaker 3: And I'd heard the rumors in the offseason, so I,
- 37:23Speaker 3: you know, obviously, I called the GM. I'm like, hey, man,
- 37:26Speaker 3: just you know, I just need to hear it from you,
- 37:27Speaker 3: any any truth. And he's he was super honest. He's like, look,
- 37:31Speaker 3: absolutely not. We don't want to do this, you know,
- 37:34Speaker 3: but we'll listen to everything. And that's that's fair. I'm like,
- 37:36Speaker 3: sounds good. Just let me know. But I went into
- 37:38Speaker 3: the season, man, I'm like, look, I'm all in. It
- 37:40Speaker 3: is what it is. I I legitimately forgot about that,
- 37:43Speaker 3: thinking I'm on the team I play. And I think
- 37:46Speaker 3: it was four or five games and the rumors had
- 37:48Speaker 3: continued to gone and coach Ruhle got fired. We had
- 37:52Speaker 3: lost a few games in a row, and I figured like,
- 37:55Speaker 3: if this was going to happen, this is how it happens,
- 37:58Speaker 3: and you're anticipated hit a little. But I didn't, maybe subconsciously,
- 38:02Speaker 3: but I never I never addressed it, you know, openly,
- 38:05Speaker 3: and so uh we played La. We played the Rams.
- 38:09Speaker 3: It was a first game with coach Wilkes, and we lost.
- 38:12Speaker 3: I had a pretty good game, though, and I just
- 38:14Speaker 3: remember my agent saying it could happen this week, but
- 38:17Speaker 3: I don't think so. And so early in the week
- 38:19Speaker 3: it was, you know, I don't think this is happening.
- 38:22Speaker 3: And then the week kept going and going and there
- 38:24Speaker 3: was more of a chance, and I was just like, look,
- 38:25Speaker 3: if it's going to happen, make a house preparing for Tampa.
- 38:28Speaker 3: So for you know, anyone who doesn't know what it's
- 38:30Speaker 3: like to get traded in the middle of a week.
- 38:32Speaker 3: You know, I'm in practice in meetings Wednesday, treatment practice
- 38:36Speaker 3: and meetings Thursday, treatment eleven thirty pm. I get a
- 38:39Speaker 3: call trading you to the Niners. YadA YadA, seven am.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Flight didn't say by to one person. Practice with the
- 38:46Speaker 3: Niners Friday. Try to scramble together, you know, a few
- 38:50Speaker 3: plays in a little package. Go play the Chiefs on
- 38:53Speaker 3: Sunday for the Niners, and then from there you just roll.
- 38:56Speaker 1: So you when you call the GM, you obviously there's
- 38:59Speaker 1: a bit of an anxiety. And then when you after
- 39:00Speaker 1: you play the Rams, your agents like, hey, probably won't happen,
- 39:05Speaker 1: but it could happen this week. How does that like
- 39:07Speaker 1: affect you during the season leading up to that point,
- 39:09Speaker 1: because obviously everyone's always all in, like the guys who
- 39:12Speaker 1: really care about football, they're gonna be all in for
- 39:14Speaker 1: their team, but there's gonna be some sort of level
- 39:16Speaker 1: of you got to feel some sort of way knowing
- 39:19Speaker 1: there's a possibility of this team, whether you feel like
- 39:21Speaker 1: they're giving up.
- 39:22Speaker 3: On you or they want to move on for whatever reason.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Like, what was your thought process like up until getting traded.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's I think I legitimately blocked it
- 39:32Speaker 3: out for the first four weeks and then, like like
- 39:35Speaker 3: you said, like that week where it was like, hey,
- 39:37Speaker 3: this could happen. I mean it's all I thought about.
- 39:38Speaker 3: You know, It's like it was completely in the back
- 39:40Speaker 3: of my head, like consuming the unknown. Yeah, it consumes you,
- 39:43Speaker 3: but you have to do your best. Were I was,
- 39:45Speaker 3: you know, prepping for Tampa. So I just started, you know,
- 39:48Speaker 3: doing all that and just getting ready to go, and
- 39:50Speaker 3: I figured, hey, don't change a thing, because regardless you're
- 39:53Speaker 3: going to be on a team, whether it's you know,
- 39:55Speaker 3: you get traded Tuesday or whether you get traded Thursday,
- 39:58Speaker 3: whatever it is. I just didn't want to prolong it.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I wanted to play in every game this year. That
- 40:02Speaker 3: was a you know, big deal to me to be
- 40:04Speaker 3: able to suit up and play in every game, and
- 40:06Speaker 3: so I just wanted it to happen sooner than later.
- 40:08Speaker 3: But uh no, it definitely consumes you. I mean, it's
- 40:10Speaker 3: in the back of your head. Even in practice. I'm like, dude,
- 40:13Speaker 3: just don't do anything stupid, like who knows what's going
- 40:15Speaker 3: to happen. Like I was warming up for like an
- 40:17Speaker 3: hour just to make sure I'm you know, checking the box.
- 40:20Speaker 3: So yeah, it definitely consumes you a little.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Then you I was gonna say, as your initial reaction
- 40:25Speaker 4: when you got traded, is it pissed off?
- 40:27Speaker 3: It's so weird. Weird. It's a weird deal because there's
- 40:31Speaker 3: so many emotions, and the first emotions probably anger, like man,
- 40:34Speaker 3: you guys don't want me anymore. Like that's really what
- 40:37Speaker 3: it is. You know, you can call it what it is. Well,
- 40:39Speaker 3: they got a lot for you. It's like, na, like
- 40:41Speaker 3: you're you think you're better off without me, that's what
- 40:43Speaker 3: it is. And uh so you get that. So it's
- 40:47Speaker 3: you know, you're pissed off, but then you're excited, but
- 40:49Speaker 3: then you're you know, you got two days. So I
- 40:51Speaker 3: just think there's so many emotions that get flooded at
- 40:54Speaker 3: you at once that you're not really able to address
- 40:57Speaker 3: because they give you the playbook as soon as you
- 40:59Speaker 3: get there, and you're like, shit, man, that's what that's
- 41:01Speaker 3: you know, I gotta get going, so you can't even
- 41:03Speaker 3: address it. And I don't even know if I've completely
- 41:06Speaker 3: decompressed yet with the whole thing. But it's like a
- 41:09Speaker 3: big breakup and you don't get any chance after. Yeah,
- 41:11Speaker 3: if they break up into a next relationship.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Yeah, immediately, not even like the courting process of the
- 41:17Speaker 1: other relationship.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I'm healthy to leave this one. I go this one,
- 41:19Speaker 3: your ex pix, your next chick, Yeah, what the hell is?
- 41:22Speaker 1: Hey, we're done. But she's gonna be great to me.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Ye's gonna be fantastic.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I hope she's good. And she was.
- 41:27Speaker 1: It was I had to be a little bit of
- 41:29Speaker 1: like Carolina was going down the dumbs pretty fast.
- 41:32Speaker 3: And then you get traded to the forty nine ers
- 41:33Speaker 3: are like, hey.
- 41:34Speaker 1: You're pisses first, and you're like, I'm going to a
- 41:36Speaker 1: good ball club here in.
- 41:37Speaker 3: A family that obviously is you know you know what though,
- 41:40Speaker 3: And I've this is dead honest truth. I legitimately thought
- 41:44Speaker 3: we could still win because we had a really hard
- 41:47Speaker 3: first part of the schedule, and so there was a
- 41:49Speaker 3: few games in there where we're like a god, like,
- 41:52Speaker 3: you hope you win these games, and you you want
- 41:54Speaker 3: to win these games. But you got a new quarterback,
- 41:57Speaker 3: you got a new offense. There's gonna it's gonna come
- 41:59Speaker 3: with some growing pains. Our coordinator just got there, our
- 42:02Speaker 3: quarterback got there in training camp. Like I, I really
- 42:05Speaker 3: believed we could still win. So in the back of
- 42:06Speaker 3: my head, I'm like, you know, we could be one
- 42:09Speaker 3: of those Miami teams who wins nine straight later in
- 42:12Speaker 3: the year. A couple of years ago, I in my
- 42:14Speaker 3: head believed that, and and they ended up doing, you know,
- 42:17Speaker 3: kind of making a little bit of the man. I mean,
- 42:19Speaker 3: they got the mix for sure. So I I, you know,
- 42:21Speaker 3: you any way you could get into the playoffs doesn't
- 42:24Speaker 3: really matter as long as you get in. And so
- 42:26Speaker 3: I thought we could. And so that that didn't help.
- 42:28Speaker 3: I wasn't like, oh the hell, yeah, I'm out like that.
- 42:30Speaker 3: That that wasn't my mentality after got traded. I loved
- 42:32Speaker 3: Charlotte Man, and I was a captain on that team.
- 42:34Speaker 3: I love those guys, and uh so, you know, it
- 42:38Speaker 3: came with a lot of mixed emotions.
- 42:39Speaker 1: So Thursday night, eleven thirty at night, you get traded,
- 42:42Speaker 1: seven am, you're on a flight, and then you have
- 42:44Speaker 1: to play a game in forty eight hours essentially, like
- 42:47Speaker 1: what was when you talked to Shanahan and the boys
- 42:49Speaker 1: like we like, hey, we need these ten plays out
- 42:51Speaker 1: of you during the game, because it was it was
- 42:53Speaker 1: a big surprise to everybody when you'd stepped on the
- 42:55Speaker 1: field that that Sunday.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I at first I didn't know if I was
- 42:59Speaker 3: gonna pla. I don't think they knew if I was
- 43:01Speaker 3: gonna play. And then I think I got there and
- 43:03Speaker 3: and if you know how Shanahan's a wizard man, he
- 43:06Speaker 3: I think he started to put together a little bit
- 43:08Speaker 3: of a red zone package and maybe something like ten
- 43:11Speaker 3: plays here where he's like, you know, maybe we can
- 43:13Speaker 3: use him in a couple different ways and teach him
- 43:15Speaker 3: some base runs, get them some touches, and uh so
- 43:20Speaker 3: I had I was ready for ten to twelve plays.
- 43:22Speaker 3: I ended up playing in like twenty, and poor Jimmy
- 43:25Speaker 3: like he called like eight plays. I've never heard. I know,
- 43:27Speaker 3: I couldn't tell you what one thing meant in the play,
- 43:29Speaker 3: like Jimmy, I'm sorry, but you got to tell me
- 43:31Speaker 3: what to do. Jimmy, you know obviously told me what
- 43:34Speaker 3: to do. But yeah, it was it was a different
- 43:38Speaker 3: game week experience. I could say that, how was your
- 43:41Speaker 3: how was your transition going to San fran It was great, man,
- 43:44Speaker 3: it was great. I mean that's as seamless of a
- 43:48Speaker 3: transition as I could have imagined. From the coaches helping
- 43:51Speaker 3: me out learning the plays quick to shit. Brock Purty
- 43:55Speaker 3: was walking through with me on the turf field, you know,
- 43:58Speaker 3: after hours, just to try to you know, get some
- 44:00Speaker 3: reps in so I could hear the plays. Kittle and
- 44:04Speaker 3: all the leaders on the team. I mean, you're playing
- 44:06Speaker 3: with guys that are elite at what they do all
- 44:10Speaker 3: over the locker room. So from them welcome me in. Man,
- 44:14Speaker 3: they felt like family right away. I was so thankful,
- 44:17Speaker 3: you know, because you never know how that's going to go.
- 44:19Speaker 3: It could be some resentment or something like hell was
- 44:22Speaker 3: a new guy, and uh no, they welcome in with
- 44:25Speaker 3: open arms. Everyone was so great and clicked those boys
- 44:27Speaker 3: right away.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Yeah, when you first got to San Frandi, Like who
- 44:31Speaker 1: did you gravitate towards early like or who I guess
- 44:35Speaker 1: who opened the doors to like a little bit of
- 44:36Speaker 1: a friendship early like.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Boys. Kittle was amazing, man. He he called me when
- 44:40Speaker 3: I got traded the GM the Panthers called me. He
- 44:44Speaker 3: told me getting traded. John Lynch called me, and then
- 44:49Speaker 3: Kittle called me. Did you know before I'd known Kittle,
- 44:52Speaker 3: I you know, hung out of them for a while,
- 44:54Speaker 3: you know, seeing him at different events here and there.
- 44:57Speaker 3: So he was like the third call, and man, that
- 44:59Speaker 3: meant a lot to me. Obviously he's a leader on
- 45:00Speaker 3: that team. And then sharing the running back room with
- 45:03Speaker 3: Kyle Juice check was great, and that whole running back
- 45:06Speaker 3: room was awesome. Man, it's a good room. And Elijah
- 45:10Speaker 3: Mitchell and just being able to learn from him and
- 45:13Speaker 3: just no egos. No, you know, it was a it
- 45:16Speaker 3: was a seamless transition. But you know, I saw like
- 45:19Speaker 3: Trent Williams in the locker rooms like monster I saw
- 45:22Speaker 3: man and Fred Warner is a beast, you know, Debo,
- 45:26Speaker 3: you all those guys, So they are sad, they're so close, man,
- 45:30Speaker 3: like you can tell they've been through some shit together. Yeah,
- 45:32Speaker 3: you know, what I mean. So when I stepped in there,
- 45:34Speaker 3: I'm like, look, I just just do your job. You
- 45:36Speaker 3: don't got to do anything else, but just do your job.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Knowing that the Panthers were your first, was your first organization,
- 45:41Speaker 4: going to the San Francisco and see how that organization
- 45:44Speaker 4: was ran, was it eye opening between the two different organizations,
- 45:47Speaker 4: Like I know, for me when I went from Washington
- 45:49Speaker 4: to Tennessee, you saw right away like how differently the
- 45:52Speaker 4: Titans would run.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Stuff compared to compared to Washington.
- 45:55Speaker 4: And then say when I went to the Raiders and
- 45:56Speaker 4: everything else, was it similar at all going from Carolina
- 45:59Speaker 4: to San Francisco.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Uh? No, it was pretty different in a lot of ways,
- 46:04Speaker 3: not even good or bad. But you just you get
- 46:06Speaker 3: in a routine in one team, or do your practice
- 46:08Speaker 3: schedule with when you get treatment, with when they practice,
- 46:11Speaker 3: when they lift, et cetera. So all that was different.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So I had to kind of adjust mid season all
- 46:15Speaker 3: of that stuff. So as far as the scheduling went,
- 46:17Speaker 3: it was much different. Uh. The playbook obviously was much different,
- 46:21Speaker 3: completely new terminology and uh but I think you know
- 46:25Speaker 3: for me, you I adapted pretty quick. And the other
- 46:28Speaker 3: good thing was we played Kansas City, where I chalk
- 46:30Speaker 3: it up to you know, scratch, like you played, but
- 46:34Speaker 3: just now you can get your bearings for a week.
- 46:37Speaker 3: And then we played LA the next week and then
- 46:39Speaker 3: we had to buy. So I played in really one
- 46:42Speaker 3: and a half games and then we had a buy
- 46:44Speaker 3: where I could really get used to everything and how
- 46:46Speaker 3: things were ran. But even like your treatment people, you
- 46:48Speaker 3: know what I mean, like the guys that you see
- 46:51Speaker 3: that because you.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Got your guy, Like there's that one guy in the
- 46:53Speaker 1: building was like, this is my dude I'm working with.
- 46:55Speaker 3: So I'm like, you know all that you're scrambling to
- 46:58Speaker 3: figure that stuff out. And yeah, there's a there's a
- 47:02Speaker 3: lot of differences here and there, but I'd say that
- 47:05Speaker 3: was probably the biggest effect. It's just trying to figure
- 47:07Speaker 3: out the logistics of your schedule throughout the week. Yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 4: How close are you with the uh like getting cause
- 47:14Speaker 4: your family's with the your the Shanahan family and your family,
- 47:18Speaker 4: you guys.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Are like tight, right? Yes?
- 47:20Speaker 4: Is that are you are you going there feeling kind
- 47:22Speaker 4: of like that interpersonal relationship with coach Shanahan or is
- 47:26Speaker 4: it kind of like our families are type of you know, it's.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it's still different for us. I think when you
- 47:31Speaker 3: get traded, it's like you really understand the family, friend
- 47:35Speaker 3: or whatever, how much of a business it is. And
- 47:37Speaker 3: you also understand that these guys just traded a lot
- 47:39Speaker 3: for you. So you know, there's there's no like, hey,
- 47:43Speaker 3: what's up, man, good, It's like all right, dude, like
- 47:46Speaker 3: I it's time, like I gotta I gotta prove you right.
- 47:49Speaker 3: And we got a role because you know, I mean,
- 47:52Speaker 3: my my dad played for played for Mike Shanahan for
- 47:54Speaker 3: a long time, and they're really close, you know, really close,
- 47:58Speaker 3: and Kyle grew up in that locker room. Kyle grew
- 48:00Speaker 3: up one of those games, the Niners games when Mike
- 48:02Speaker 3: was there and the Broncos games. I'd only met Kyle
- 48:05Speaker 3: after a game when we when we played them, though
- 48:07Speaker 3: I didn't I wasn't like, you know, I talked to
- 48:10Speaker 3: Kyle all the time. That wasn't the case at all.
- 48:12Speaker 3: And I think, you know, we have a lot of
- 48:14Speaker 3: similarities in a lot of ways, in the sense that
- 48:16Speaker 3: you know, your your dad's kind of grew up. Know,
- 48:18Speaker 3: my dad had three Super Bowl rings and growing up
- 48:21Speaker 3: in Denver, you know, he was a big deal. And
- 48:24Speaker 3: you know, I kind of always you know, I ended
- 48:28Speaker 3: up making a name for myself, but just growing up,
- 48:30Speaker 3: you're in his shadow. And I thought it was the
- 48:32Speaker 3: best thing ever. I mean, me and my pops are
- 48:34Speaker 3: like that, and it was it was amazing. But you know,
- 48:37Speaker 3: I think Kyle probably feels out a little bit too,
- 48:39Speaker 3: And so it's all business though. And I love Kyle
- 48:42Speaker 3: and I and we you know, we got a good relationship.
- 48:44Speaker 3: But I want to win so bad man, and I
- 48:46Speaker 3: know he does too, So it's it's definitely to the
- 48:49Speaker 3: script and business. You guys are so close this year.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Dude, When when you got Jimmy g telling you what
- 48:54Speaker 1: to do in the field and then a few weeks
- 48:56Speaker 1: later he's out. Like what was the vibe in the
- 48:58Speaker 1: locker room? Because it seems like it was truly a
- 49:01Speaker 1: next man up mentality, That's what it seemed like from
- 49:03Speaker 1: the outside looking in. But do you have a guy
- 49:05Speaker 1: who's mister irrelevant, Like you really have no idea what
- 49:07Speaker 1: he's gonna play on the field. You had no chance
- 49:09Speaker 1: to see him in camp or really in preseason games
- 49:11Speaker 1: or anything. So like what was your thought process and
- 49:13Speaker 1: like what was the vibe of the boys, Like the
- 49:15Speaker 1: next day.
- 49:16Speaker 3: And there was a lot of mixed emotions, uh, and
- 49:20Speaker 3: a lot of unknowns. But like I said, I mean
- 49:22Speaker 3: that you got the number one defense and you have
- 49:25Speaker 3: a lot of weapons, and so I don't I don't.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I really don't believe anyone ever blinked. I think it was, hey,
- 49:31Speaker 3: we're gonna have to step up, like there's you know,
- 49:33Speaker 3: And I don't know what that means because I never
- 49:36Speaker 3: understood that because it's like, well, what were you doing before,
- 49:38Speaker 3: like you know not but like you know what I mean,
- 49:40Speaker 3: just kind of you know, lock in, no, no bullshit,
- 49:43Speaker 3: nothing and uh. But I didn't feel like anybody blinked.
- 49:47Speaker 3: And I and to hear the defense talk about Brock
- 49:50Speaker 3: because those are the guys going against him in scout
- 49:52Speaker 3: team and during training camp they were huge fans. They're like,
- 49:54Speaker 3: oh no, he can ball, and so we're like, all right,
- 49:57Speaker 3: let's let's see what happens. And he went in the
- 49:59Speaker 3: middle of the Miami Gaming one and then you know,
- 50:01Speaker 3: it's kind of history from there. But no, it was
- 50:05Speaker 3: impressive what he did. I'll be honest with you, how
- 50:07Speaker 3: do you really impress if to wash them from a
- 50:09Speaker 3: close spectrum.
- 50:10Speaker 1: How do you feel sitting in this room right now
- 50:12Speaker 1: and not getting ready for the Super Bowl.
- 50:14Speaker 3: No, you were so close. It hurts, man, It hurts.
- 50:17Speaker 3: It's uh yeah, it hurts. Yeah, it hurts man. But
- 50:21Speaker 3: is your dad like the guy from what was the
- 50:23Speaker 3: movie with Bobe Miles right and night lights?
- 50:26Speaker 1: So he's like, you see that he got one of those,
- 50:28Speaker 1: got one of those, gets you one of those?
- 50:31Speaker 3: Like that is your dad? Kind of put in your
- 50:32Speaker 3: face a little bit. He's letting a ride. I've never
- 50:34Speaker 3: seen my dad's rings. He's the couldn't be you got
- 50:36Speaker 3: to drive home drug after a game?
- 50:37Speaker 1: Yeahs out the window, you're stuffing through.
- 50:40Speaker 3: The gray nod fucking kicks out the window.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Christians all sat on the field, his dad walks up,
- 50:48Speaker 1: puts it on his finger.
- 50:50Speaker 3: By the way, they asked me the other day, like,
- 50:52Speaker 3: what's one of the best movie scenes of all time?
- 50:54Speaker 3: That was like in my top three when he's on
- 50:57Speaker 3: his knees when he hugs his dad at the end
- 50:59Speaker 3: there when other I mean emotional right now, that is tough.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Was the lamp scene? Throws the lamp on the ground,
- 51:07Speaker 3: I dropped it. He's like, can't hold the lamp, can't
- 51:09Speaker 3: hold on the football. I can hold on the football.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Get the hell out of here. I got a funny
- 51:13Speaker 3: story about that. Actually, dug tasers are can you old?
- 51:16Speaker 3: How about now? Can you all do it now?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, that poor girl just sitting there watching
- 51:21Speaker 1: it all go down to Tim mc.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Graw's like half naked, like, well, I think your name's
- 51:26Speaker 3: like Maurice Marie. You've grown up relaxed.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:32Speaker 3: So so Tim McGrath's daughter went to Stanford, so we
- 51:35Speaker 3: got to know the McGrath's a little bit. Me and
- 51:37Speaker 3: my friend group. She's an awesome girl, and uh, we
- 51:40Speaker 3: had dinner. A family friend of ours know them pretty well.
- 51:43Speaker 3: So he invited us over for dinner when we were
- 51:45Speaker 3: at Stanford. Not Tim our family friend, but the McGrath's
- 51:48Speaker 3: him and Faith Hill we're going and so we're like
- 51:52Speaker 3: all right, cool, well we'll head over, and the whole
- 51:55Speaker 3: way on the car right, they're like, dude, just don't
- 51:56Speaker 3: fucking say any Friday night lights lines like say like
- 51:59Speaker 3: deeper professional whatever. Within five minutes, someone drops a fork
- 52:04Speaker 3: and my idiot buddy like like it's like, don't punch
- 52:06Speaker 3: The president goes, can't hold on to the fork, can't
- 52:09Speaker 3: hold on dude. He was like no, no, and we
- 52:14Speaker 3: all just started and he started laughing too, which was good,
- 52:17Speaker 3: but oh my god, it was anything to it. He laughed.
- 52:19Speaker 3: He just laughed, didn't say anything.
- 52:21Speaker 1: And Jim McGraw is one of those dudes you've seen
- 52:22Speaker 1: you're like, fuck, that's really Tim McGrath as he ripped out.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Dude.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I saw him at UH when I tore my seal
- 52:29Speaker 1: in twenty twenty and they were playing The Ravens and
- 52:31Speaker 1: the Sweet next to me.
- 52:32Speaker 3: He was there and someone like kind of tapped them loss.
- 52:34Speaker 1: I kind of get like one of those and he like, look,
- 52:36Speaker 1: gave me the head and I was like, we're fucking tight, dude,
- 52:39Speaker 1: We're boys.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Brother.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but dude, we were at Losers in Nashville one
- 52:43Speaker 1: time and the owner of Loser's name is Steve Ford.
- 52:46Speaker 3: He comes up.
- 52:46Speaker 1: He goes, hey, you all want the back, that's fine,
- 52:48Speaker 1: but Bob's coming. I'm like, who's Bob. He's like kid Rock,
- 52:52Speaker 1: kid Rocks on his way. So my first thing is
- 52:54Speaker 1: where's Will. I go over to way like a will
- 52:56Speaker 1: Kid Rock's coming. Don't say any Joe.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Dirt, that's summer too massive, kid Rock.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, don't say any Joe dirt ship, don't
- 53:04Speaker 1: start saying ball at the bar, any of this stuff.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Kid Rock comes in.
- 53:08Speaker 3: We're hanging out.
- 53:09Speaker 1: We're literally playing beer pong, and we're like talking for
- 53:11Speaker 1: a little bit. It's me Will and Kid Rock and
- 53:14Speaker 1: we we're talking and there's like a bit of an
- 53:16Speaker 1: awkward silence and we'll just go I can't stop thinking
- 53:19Speaker 1: about Joe dirtlines right now.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Oh my god, brother, it's tough when you're around those
- 53:30Speaker 3: type of cats. Dude, it's tough. You kind of want
- 53:32Speaker 3: to be like, I know you. Yeah, you don't really
- 53:34Speaker 3: know him scenes. Bro, Yeah, it's exactly. It's like not man, no, No,
- 53:39Speaker 3: you're just you're thinking of his character acting, so I
- 53:43Speaker 3: would actually.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Think is like an asshole who I wouldn't like before
- 53:46Speaker 4: meeting him. Is a Jeoffrey from Game of Thrones.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I think I really have an issue with I gotta
- 53:52Speaker 1: watch that show. Yeah, the worst person step away from acting.
- 53:57Speaker 1: That's what I heard.
- 53:58Speaker 3: He quit acting.
- 54:00Speaker 1: What a great actors got to be it.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Shall we talk about the NFC Championship. We don't have to.
- 54:10Speaker 3: I think we got it. Don't worry about it. I
- 54:11Speaker 3: think we got to touch on it. Don't worry about it, dude.
- 54:14Speaker 1: We got a touch. We got to touch on it. Figure,
- 54:17Speaker 1: did Brock perty fake that injury? I'm just kidding.
- 54:23Speaker 3: I mean it was pretty tough. He he tore his UCL.
- 54:25Speaker 3: I mean, he legitimately couldn't throw, and our only hope
- 54:28Speaker 3: for you know, we still had hope. Josh came in
- 54:31Speaker 3: and we we tie it up, We're ready to roll.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And then when Josh went down, it's like, you know,
- 54:36Speaker 3: it's panic mode, but you never know. Defense picked six
- 54:40Speaker 3: special teams touchdown, you know what's gonna happen. But I
- 54:44Speaker 3: don't know if they knew how hurt Brock was, so
- 54:46Speaker 3: just having Brock out there, there was still the threat
- 54:48Speaker 3: of like, oh maybe maybe they shot him up and
- 54:51Speaker 3: he's good to go, like who knows, right, And he
- 54:53Speaker 3: threw a couple of screen passes, but I mean that's
- 54:55Speaker 3: a serious injury. He's just serious injury for him to
- 54:58Speaker 3: come back in the game and you know, try to
- 55:00Speaker 3: at least throw dog Yeah, no, uh no, he didn't
- 55:04Speaker 3: fake it.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Because I didn't get to see the game, but you
- 55:06Speaker 1: were saying they were just like y'all were just running
- 55:08Speaker 1: the ball.
- 55:09Speaker 4: After at least like yeah, they might not know what's
- 55:11Speaker 4: going on, but after a few plays, you're gonna realize, like,
- 55:13Speaker 4: let's just stack the box until they do throw and
- 55:15Speaker 4: show that they can try and go up top. So
- 55:17Speaker 4: after that, like as you guys are doing running plaffter
- 55:19Speaker 4: running platter, running patter, running plafter fucking running play going
- 55:23Speaker 4: into the fourth quarter, and then it's not like nobody's
- 55:26Speaker 4: like the clock's not stopping.
- 55:27Speaker 3: You guys are just running the football.
- 55:29Speaker 4: I'm sitting there like, will at least try to fucking
- 55:33Speaker 4: at least try to throw the fall like you throw
- 55:34Speaker 4: it into the fucking stands.
- 55:35Speaker 3: I'm like, hell yeah, let it fucking rip. Bro. That
- 55:37Speaker 3: was one of the worst I wish Why continue to
- 55:42Speaker 3: just run the ball? Is there a sense of frustration
- 55:44Speaker 3: like like him and Deebo and drawing up on the sidle, like.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Hey, hey, George, I'm about to just say, look at me,
- 55:51Speaker 4: I'm gonna throw this ball to you.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, in theory, like that's that sounds really good.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I just I just feel like I couldn't call play,
- 55:58Speaker 3: Like I know the running back position and in some
- 56:01Speaker 3: Z plays, but like calling a play and knowing what
- 56:03Speaker 3: people are you could draw it up all you want.
- 56:04Speaker 3: We drew up that that double reverse, and you know,
- 56:08Speaker 3: it was the one time I think they go to
- 56:09Speaker 3: shell now and then I, you know, Kittle's double covered
- 56:12Speaker 3: and he's our only guy, and so I just I
- 56:15Speaker 3: threw it to absolutely nobody. But I love that you
- 56:18Speaker 3: just let it rip it throwing the football. Yeah, I
- 56:21Speaker 3: almost got grounding, which would have been like, oh, yeah,
- 56:23Speaker 3: never mind, we're not throwing the football, but but no,
- 56:25Speaker 3: it's uh, I think at that point, man, you're you're
- 56:28Speaker 3: hoping for. You know, we did a couple of double
- 56:31Speaker 3: reverses and we were still running the ball efficiently. It's
- 56:35Speaker 3: not like we were zero yards. And I don't know,
- 56:38Speaker 3: I wish I'm not a coach. I I don't know
- 56:41Speaker 3: what I would have done. I don't think I've ever
- 56:42Speaker 3: seen that. The only time I've ever seen no quarterbacks
- 56:44Speaker 3: be able to play was the Broncos COVID deal Peace
- 56:50Speaker 3: squad receiver they gotta be by like forty five. Yeah,
- 56:52Speaker 3: that was a tough That was a tough though. Let
- 56:54Speaker 3: alone and you know, not having a quarterback for two
- 56:56Speaker 3: and a half in the NFC Championship. But I'm you know,
- 56:59Speaker 3: and they they're the ones that hurt them. So it's
- 57:02Speaker 3: not like, you know, you can't say it's not fair.
- 57:04Speaker 3: You know, they play good ball, it's a good team,
- 57:05Speaker 3: but yeah, what a tough fucking spot to be in.
- 57:08Speaker 3: And I get it.
- 57:09Speaker 4: It's like in theory that sounds nice, and it's like,
- 57:12Speaker 4: I know, like I'm saying, then kind of you're trying
- 57:15Speaker 4: to get you to speak on something where it's like,
- 57:16Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not you're not a coach, you're not
- 57:19Speaker 4: doing all that stuff.
- 57:19Speaker 3: You're not trying to draw it up.
- 57:20Speaker 4: But I'm just thinking NFC Championship, there's truly nothing to
- 57:23Speaker 4: fucking lose at what at all whatsoever. So it's like
- 57:26Speaker 4: you're just out there, Hey, I'm gonna fucking go five
- 57:28Speaker 4: yards and go out just to simplify for somebody trying
- 57:30Speaker 4: to throw the rock like Kyle be A be a
- 57:32Speaker 4: quarterback so Christian could maybe still run the football. But
- 57:36Speaker 4: that's what I'm still there thinking. I'm like, man, at
- 57:37Speaker 4: least at least show that you might just throw the
- 57:40Speaker 4: ball at some point. That's what I was saying. You know,
- 57:42Speaker 4: I'm pissed off. Yell the TV.
- 57:43Speaker 3: I bet on you guys. I'm fucking I'm pissed off.
- 57:47Speaker 1: If there was gonna be a quarterback, who do you
- 57:48Speaker 1: think it would be have to step in man and
- 57:55Speaker 1: taking away the fact that it's the NFC Championship, that'd
- 57:58Speaker 1: be cool.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Like if you're in the middle of it. In the
- 58:01Speaker 3: back of my mind, I won't lie. I'm like, look, dude,
- 58:03Speaker 3: if I get the ball, I'm ripping it, like yeah, yeah, brother,
- 58:06Speaker 3: we call like some you know whatever the top off
- 58:10Speaker 3: we shouldn't have done.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Yeah, but if it's in the middle of the season,
- 58:14Speaker 4: you you do, like you run the ball, you get
- 58:15Speaker 4: out of the game, and it's like, well, fuck, we didn't
- 58:17Speaker 4: have a quarterback.
- 58:17Speaker 3: But it's like the game before the Super Bowl.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but you guys are thinking about the negative, Like
- 58:24Speaker 1: imagine if you were play quarterback and was throwing dimes
- 58:26Speaker 1: all of a sudden.
- 58:27Speaker 3: Yeah or yeah, I don't know. All that quarterback stuff's tough,
- 58:30Speaker 3: Like forget throwing the ball, like calling the play in
- 58:34Speaker 3: the huddle, like they're still giving me ship because I
- 58:36Speaker 3: called one play on the wristband. It was a double
- 58:38Speaker 3: reverse pass and like the whole game, it was so
- 58:41Speaker 3: loud and so the quarterbacks in there just screaming like
- 58:44Speaker 3: we had to have a guy taking knee in the
- 58:46Speaker 3: middle so we could shorten up the circle just sweetly, bro.
- 58:50Speaker 3: And uh and so I'm like, damn, I gotta yell
- 58:53Speaker 3: this play. Call I meanwhile the play calls, it's that long,
- 58:56Speaker 3: and uh, I'm screaming the play and George's like, dude,
- 59:02Speaker 3: like it was the one time it was quiet, So
- 59:04Speaker 3: like the whole defense is like that. We can hear you.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Like I'm like, oh shit, so quiet my voice down
- 59:10Speaker 3: for a little bit. But now calling the play in
- 59:12Speaker 3: the huddle is more difficult than.
- 59:13Speaker 1: People's make What about turbo package? Why not go into
- 59:17Speaker 1: your you guys have like some on the ball stuff
- 59:18Speaker 1: where you have like one one word and that's what
- 59:20Speaker 1: you're gonna call and that's it.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we yeah, we have that. We but I don't know.
- 59:24Speaker 3: I don't know the quarterback corbo package. Juice might but
- 59:28Speaker 3: there you go put juice in. There's so many like
- 59:32Speaker 3: there's so many what ifs, man, and like you should
- 59:34Speaker 3: have done it. It's like, but I don't know. It
- 59:38Speaker 3: just it just sucked. Absolutely.
- 59:40Speaker 1: I mean this is from the perspective were opening wounds
- 59:42Speaker 1: and then joking way and.
- 59:44Speaker 3: I know you're allowed to carry three quarterbacks, like I meant.
- 59:47Speaker 3: I had a comment earlier this week in the media
- 59:49Speaker 3: where I was like, I wish they changed that rule,
- 59:51Speaker 3: and people are like, well, you can change you can
- 59:53Speaker 3: carry three quarterbacks. I'm like, I know that. I just mean,
- 59:56Speaker 3: you have fifty three guys active, but only how many
- 59:59Speaker 3: suit up forty forty eighty six shoot up?
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Forty eight can suit up now, but you would have to,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: but you have to suit up an extra offensive lineman
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: almighty first seven.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: My whole point, I was like, I know that. I
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: just wish one of those extra active players could be
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: a third quarterback because nobody wants to watch that. That's
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: not no like, it's it sucks for us, it sucks
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: for fans, it sucks for everything. You're like, dude, this
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: is there's so you know, people's lives. It's and look
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I'm bitter, and then the wounds are still fresh and
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: I'm pissed off, and I get it. I'll get over it.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: But that was just my initial angry thoughts post game.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Dude, the hockey's got a rule, not necessarily rule, but
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: there are literally guys in the stands that are goalies
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: and they're like, like, there's two goalies that suit up.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: If both those goalies get hurt, that guy will literally
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: go down the.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: Locker room, suit up and go play goalie. That wild Yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: that would.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Be nice if you were able to do that, because
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: it does like and I know we're sitting here talking like,
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: oh we should have could It's like this, the chances
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: are nine to nine percent chance you were still.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Going to lose the game.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: Whoa well, I mean the way it was getting out
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: of hand, it's just like they had a quarter left
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: to make something happen.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Yeah, what you're saying, you're not saying even with Brock.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: And you're saying like, oh, if you was, if he
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: would have acted as the quarterback into the baar, and
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: that means they would have won the game. It's like,
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: you know, you're kind of just like, well, everyone knows
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: it's pretty much gonna be over with.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but I thought you were saying if Brock played
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: the entire game, Oh no, no, no, no, okay, just
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: when that game you really think so, you really think so?
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: You no, there there.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Those are both the two best put together teams in
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: the NFL. They were really they were good.
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: I thought they're a good team. You know, you go
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: into every game confident, and that's one thing about Kyle,
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: like he gets you to get you know, with his
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: game plans and stuff. You're like, oh damn, I'm excited
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: for this game, you know, and and who knows what
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: would have happened. I just think, man, like, I just
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: wish it didn't go that way.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that is especially in that uh uh the first
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: drive to like they got that fourth down play and
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: obviously you guys are still in it, so it's just
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: like nobody's want to get you that catch.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: A different game, it's a different game. How about the punt.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: The punt too, they're rough in the punter. Different game.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Who knows game. I'm talking on the couch. I know,
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: I'm talking on a couch.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're wearing that heart on that sleeve right now,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: which is awesome night. We're gonna absolutely love it. You
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: had a comment, I think you're on an NFL network
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: media role. It might have been yesterday, say you wish
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: you hope both teams lose. Obviously that's not gonna happen.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Who do you not hope? But who do you think? Actually, yeah,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: imagine there's a tie for the Super Bowl that can't happen, right, No,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: it can't happen.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: No, No, there's no way.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: There's no ties, there's no ties. Who do you think
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: is going to win this game? Because we've been this
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: has been like obviously the conversation for everybody, especially here
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: in this house. Everyone's talking over and over about how.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: By the time this comes out, it's like it'll be done,
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: it'll be done. We'll clip it real quick and set
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: it out today. Yeah. I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: I think I don't know. It's so hard for me
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: to like say one or the other, you know, because
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: I'm so pissed off. You know. It's like, so you
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: think the eas not necessarily, not necessarily, I mean tough.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: They're a stacked team that got you know, so many
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: weapons on offense and and and that pass rush is serious.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: It's tough to bet against Pat Mahomes ever, you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: in a game. So, I don't know. I hope it's
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: a good game, though, I don't know if I watch,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: but I hope it's a good game. You don't think you're
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: gonna watch the Super It hurts that bad hurts. It hurts. Brother.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I can't, I can't imagine. I mean I can't.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I was in the Answer Championship once. But that's gotta
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: be fucking tough, you know, exactly as feeling. Yeah, but
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: like I mean, we lost made it even tougher because
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: there's there is truly a like argument for what if Yeah,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, if we got beat, i'd
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: be like you know what man prop and and look,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: you're gonna clip that.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: By the way, Philly fans hate hate me right now
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: for the whole I hope both team anyway.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Good, but dude, it's Philly. They're literally that's what they do.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: So but but like I you know, I'm not saying
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: we would have won. I am saying, you know, we'd
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: have had a chance and that would have been you know,
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: but no, like that we would have got it. It's
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: actually on Twitter right now. No, But I just think
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: having a chance is important in the NFL. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I think Philly's gonna win, So I do. I think
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: that's yeah, that's what I think. I think Philly's gonna win.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: There.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: And then you had a fantastic point earlier this week
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: where that the way the Chiefs win is off scripted place.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's I.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: Feel because I just feel like Philly can line up
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: and beat you eat, you know, both ways, on the ground,
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: through the air, which was tough, which was what was
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: shitty to watch with you guys. You guys have such
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: a tough defense, like seeing them march down and like
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: run the balls like fuck man.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but this is the other thing about our team,
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Like I just feel like we've been down in the
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: first half in multiple games this year where it was
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: looking like that, but our second half adjustments on defense,
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: like Demico Ryans had the dialed in the second half,
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: and I just feel like that was where we thrived.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Was that second half, that third and fourth quarter where
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: you know, we made a lot of way in that
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: second half. So who knows. But you guys have a
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: lot of guys in free agency this year. We have
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: some really important guys in free agency. But no, we
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: get a lot of guys back. Yeah, who are the
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: guys that are in free agency. I'm gonna miss some
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: of them, I know, Like off the top of my head. Mcglinche,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I right tackled Jimmy Ward. I'm a big fan of
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Jimmy Ward's stud I'm not sure receiver, who's up and
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: who's not. I don't I'm not still not familiar with
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: how old everyone is, so I don't know, like who's
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: on the free agent market. Those are the ones that
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: jumped off the right away, and I think d line
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Charles uh uh center, maybe back d line dude.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: So McGlinchey is one of those dudes on the offensive
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: line that I feel like it's way more hate than
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: he deserves. I feel like everyone's always like trashing, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I feel like he's a pretty solid tackle.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he's really good. Harry slid Yeah, thirty tough is
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: you play on the opposite side of Trent Williams your
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: whole career, it's like, or not your whole career, but
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: like the opposite of Trent Williams. Yeah, Like that's tough. Yeah,
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: tough to like you're not you know what I mean. Yeah, No,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Mike's been nothing, but he's been great.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Can you imagine being a part of a franchise that
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: had Joe Staley for eleven years and then he leaves
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: and then you actually have an upgrade a tackle that's
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: like the most wild ship his tackles like one of
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: those positions like there's so much demand and there's hardly
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: any supply.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred crazy. I just think go line in general.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Now you can get a solid old lineman at any
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: of the five positions, but especially left tackle. That's so
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: hard to find. Brother, and he does. He has.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Trent has no sign of slowing down at all. He
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: looks he got better when left the Red Skinner. Yea
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: with the Commander is now a year off, taking the
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: year off, which I feel like, never happens, dude, Yeah,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: never happens.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Sud Man, he's the free He's the freakiest player I've
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: ever seen in my life in person. And I don't
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: even know if it's close, like just practicing and like
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: it's stupid. Does he practice hard? He doesn't practice Wednesdays.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: He does. Really, he does it what he has to do. Yeah,
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: you could you get attest to that. Yeah, he does what.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: He'll be on the side, but he's one of those
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: guys that you can do that. Yeah, he's he's one
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: of those guys that can. Yeah, I was gonna say.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: The conversation with the lunch they ble genuine as hell,
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: innocent as hell, Like I really am waiting on the
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: day where I walk in these doors and someone challenges
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: me in practice, Like he had that comment when I
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: was like a rookie.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: And he said that. He said that to Brian rat Poe, Like, remember,
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: I knew it was for real too. Like Bosa, you know,
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: every everyone knows Bosa in the year that he's had.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: We're on the bus one time and he's like, I
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: got the hardest job in America. Like what He's like,
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: I gotta go against trend every Day's defensive Player of
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: the Year, saying like, I got the hardest job in America,
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: going to like that's yeah, it's it's stupid, man, It's stupid. Yeah.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: I think he almost beat the ship out of somebody
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: the Eagles Sue at the end of the game.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Bro, he's a little long buddy, and get a little
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: bit of a history of just going off and that
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: the Richard Truman back in the day.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: He went after the he went after the dB went
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: the dB. Ain't nothing wrong with that, you know, ain't
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: nothing wrong with that?
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: Box box box day what I wanted to see because
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Sue ended up trying to get in there, I'm like, oh,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I'm trying.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: To That would have been a nice little right dude.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: And Dominic consumers trip Williams, right, I think I think
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Trent takes that. Now, though I think Trent takes that,
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: I'm not condoning, man, I don't know. Yeah, yeah, like
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: there's nobody I'm actually kill me. What if I comment
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: on that's gonna kill me? Next year we play on
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: kill me.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: If you can catch you, brot, you gotta believe yourself
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: being a catching you dude when when you're training for
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: the Comma, there's a video that came out about you.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Uh if you're doing like you were like doing your
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: high knees over like some sort of.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Like little little thing, you know, the video we're talking
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: about video?
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: I think, uh oh, yeah, how much? How much did you? Dude?
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: You're you're in a room, there's a TV going and
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: you're stepping over this little like fucking step thing. It's
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: like this high You're like going super fast. It looks
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: like it's fake. Do you remember that video? Okay, I
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: don't know.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: Is that video real? What a fucking question? But is
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: that real? Yeah? Being an absolute beast at Stanford such
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: a dude. Yeah. Yeah, Stanford was fun, man, And I
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: think though the football team was fun for sure. We
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: had a good team man, like I feel like people
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: counted us out a lot and we didn't even know
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: how good we were. But there's like I want to say,
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: like twenty to twenty five dudes who I played with
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: in the three years I was there, who were in
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: the league, like in the league or just got out,
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: like you know, who were jumping around for a while.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: I didn't know if we knew how good we were.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: But it was fun, man. I had a lot of
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: good times. That Rose Bowl game was a blast. My
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: second year was you know, that whole year was fun.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: So I enjoyed it.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: Are you like going through this season just and when
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: your shredding record, You're like, yo, this is fucking easy
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: out here.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: I didn't know if I was going to start before
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: the season started, so my freshman year it was it's
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: the whole same running back room as my next year,
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: so and I was I didn't start my freshman year.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: I was kind of a you know, third down utility guy,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: part return kick return stuff like that. My second year,
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: I got the NOD and our first game we loosed
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: to Northwestern and I had a fumble in the game,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: and I just remember like, like this is going to
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: be an uphill battle. For me, that was our first game,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: so we're ohen one lost to unranked Northwestern at Northwestern
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: and you just don't know what's gonna happen in your territory.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: So it was uh yeah, and then it just started
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: going and going and going. I don't think it hit
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: me till the end of the year, but that was fun.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: It's a fun tea.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: If you take Stanford out of it, what other what
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: college would you want to go to? But the number
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: one college or what I would have let's do both.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Where would you Where would you have gone if it
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: wasn't Stanford? And then if you had a choice of
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: any school besides Stanford, where where would you have gone?
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: I probably would have gone to Oregon. That was like
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: in the Michael James d Anthony Thomas kind of era,
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: and that kind of fit my style just in high school,
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: like same offense, the whole nine track, all that stuff.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: But then, uh, I remember my dad sat me down
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: and he he went over all the academic stuff and
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: I understood that, but he's like, if you want to
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: play in the NFL and like play big dog football,
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: you got to run in a pro style offense. It
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: is what it is because no one's gonna think that
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: you can run in a pro style offense. And I
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: was like, dang, you're right, like and he was right,
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: like I needed to run power, I needed to run
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: inside zone. I need you were going to go to organ,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I wasn't going to go to Oregon, but I was
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: debating between like Stanford, Oregon, Washington. And then my older
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: brother played at Duke, so I was highly considering going
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: to play with you know, play a duke with him too.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: So those were like the four where I was pretty
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: close to going to Yeah, how pivotal was it for
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: you to have your old man as like a mentor
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: for you? It was growing up? Yeah? The best like
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: legit like is it growing up? Was it one year
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: out the other?
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: And then it got a little bit more you took
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: more of his of his advice, like when you got
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: closer to college or how was that?
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: How was that relationship with him growing up? We? Uh
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: so I have three brothers and I'm I'm number two,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: and we all we all played football all, you know,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: played a bunch of different sports. But it was such
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: an advantage man, Like we could go to him with
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: anything and he was never like, hey, you gotta. He
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: was tough man. We had a It was we grew
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: up great. We you know, by any means where the
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: farthest things from spoiled and it was hard at times,
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: but we had so much fun. Man Like we I
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: did everything with my brothers, and my older brother kicked
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: my ass every single day and everything we did, and
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: it was it was so good for me. And and
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: having my dad, you know, obviously as an outlet at
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: any time we wanted, was was great. I think not
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: just for like, hey man, you know, if you're running
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: a route and under fifteen yards you should never take
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: more than three steps when you break, and like different
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: things like that, and how to cut and how to
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: plan and how to do this and that. It was
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: more like the emotional side of it and how to
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: handle your emotions when things happen. Because we were all
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: we were always really competitive. We never needed like a
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: hey man, you gotta try harder. It was always really
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: important to us. So that was never like he didn't
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: you know, he was big on effort and grades and
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: all these things. But I think like how to handle
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: your business and how to you know, deal with emotions
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: when you're on the field was important for me to
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: learn at a young age, because if I didn't have him,
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: I don't know, you know, I don't know what would
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: have happened. I gotta follow up.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: You mentioned it being like it was hard at times,
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: Like what were the hard times?
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: And when I say hard, how the old man was
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: tough on you? It's like hard as a you know,
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: when you're a kid, like it was. Now, it's not hard.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: I appreciate it. Look, we would get grounded for real
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: if you got jersey tackle like seven, eight years old.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: If you got jersey when you wear the big jerseys, yeah,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: you get grounded if you get jersey. Oh really your
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: ground depot tape that double sided tape. I'm eight and
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: double side tape my pads. This is you know they
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: didn't have the velcrobe and double side tape my pads.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: I never got I was running through everybody, no jersey
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: tackles ever.
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: He would cut like certain slits in the pant to
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: give you like more neeflection, like back in the day
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: at eight years old, doing like dynamic warm ups. Dude,
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: no SODA's bedtime seven thirty. Yeah, like he would take
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: they would take our phone until I left for high
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: school at like a time, He's gonna hate me for
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: saying all this, but it worked if you. I mean,
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: I don't know if he's gonna listen to it, but
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: but yeah, like that's it was like we you know,
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: when diet was always important, sleep as always when now
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: we were kids, man like we could go over to
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: the friend's house. It wasn't like a you know, like
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: anything like that. But when it came to sports into school,
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: it was, hey, if you want to be here, here
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: are the things that you need to do. Like like
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: Friday in my off periods, like he would come pick
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: me up and I was in high school. We go,
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: you know, like middle of the day getting Ivy what
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: oh yeah, we're getting We're getting just saline Ivy's game day.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: Because I remember one game I cramped. I cramped against
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Grandview High School, like my sophomore year, first game in
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: the fourth quarter. Calf cramps, double calf cramps. It's like,
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: you're never cramping it again. Ivy's never cramped again. Oh yeah.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: And I like even like little things like you wear
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: in jeans like are my school was a private school,
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: you had you wear jeans or you know, no sweats whatever,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: you were in jeans to school. He doesn't even remember this,
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: but I remember. It's pretty heavy on legs, don't you think,
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: like you know, like you're kind of right war sweats
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: got in trouble. Then it's like, look, dude, you gotta
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: be comfy during the day. You gotta be relaxed, Like
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: this is how you act on a game day, Like
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: this is what you do, like all that pep rally shit,
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: like don't be yelling, don't be loosing your voice when
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: you're out in the sun. If you squint, your wasting energy,
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: Like make sure you have like I'm talking and I
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: didn't realize. So like people who like know me now
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: and they see how you know, taking how I take
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: care of my body and like the warm ups and
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: all these stuff. It's like that's been like bread in
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: us since I was a kid, Like it's been taught
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: to us for the longest time. Like, hey, this is
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: and that's what he did. And he was over the top,
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Like there's guys in his team were like, what the
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: hell is this guy? This guy's nuts. But you know,
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: I mean I always felt like I had a chip
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: on my shoulder and people were gonna count me out.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: And so I was gonna do everything. He go away
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: in at like the washing. I mean everybody did this,
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: but like I go on my Washington visit, I think
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: I was like one eight. I had to be one
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: eighty two or something like. That's how much I weighed.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: And he put like we put like little ten ten
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: pounds like slit squares in my shoes or in my
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: socks in case they made me take my shoes off,
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: so that if you take your shoes off, you know
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: obviously they're still in your socks. And I ended up
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: weighing like one ninety eight. I had like a thick
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: pair of puffy jeans on like the whole nine. Every
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: trick in the brother you could think of. No to
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: the University of University of Washington. So your daddy your
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: going pro the minute you came out of the way.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: When when the coaches, when the college coaches would come
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: to my high school, and like I was never small,
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: so to say, but I was always people would say
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: I'm small, like for you know, I wasn't two thirty.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: But he's like when the coaches come, like you got
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: to go knock out like twenty five in the bathroom,
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Like so I would be doing push ups, bathroom floor
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: curls and with my backpack before like you know, some
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: QC from you know, Tennessee would come by. It has
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: no he's not gonna offer me at all anyway, but
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: my veins are popping out. I'm like, coach, nice to meet.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: You're like, yeah, he was like the whole nine. Yeah, hilarious,
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: whole nine.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: That makes sense because you were dressed you were dressed
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: up professionally when you visited Washington for your draft visit,
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: because he was sitting in the special team's room with
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: the special teams coordinator.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Because remember we met that guy. I remember he came
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: in and you're like sitting there and you got like
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: this college shirt on everything else. I was like, oh man,
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: I didn't. I didn't know. That wasn't twenty minutes break.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: I remember. I should I did. I did every visit
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: I took. I was like, I thought that's what people did, Like,
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: that's why I did that. If I knew, like, you know,
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: that guy's kind of going over board, I probably would have,
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: you know, maybe just not to tie, you know, maybe
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: not to tie maybe just the shirt.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: It's just the fact that he's in the special teams
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: coordinator's office, like he's obviously gonna be a tough running back.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: Yeah yeah. And he's in there talking teams, the coordinator
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: and you hard.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he's talking teams in every fifteen minutes, he's like, hey, coach,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: I had another bathroom. Quick gets another twenty Yeah.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, dude.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: He's got great square shoulders and the great square shoulders.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: So like people forget you played nine years in the NFL.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: People forget like funny and it's so it's, well, he
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: do what. It's like nine years in the league. Man,
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: that's pretty Let me get that. That's pretty impressive. No,
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: am I wrong? No, you're right, brother.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I think we're all kind of worried because I will
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: he played ten years now.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: Ten years happened. No, I was just thinking. I was
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: just wondering, you know, a little compliment, we'll.
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: Call it, said Christian mccaff Chris respect.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you're eleven. You're Eleven's eleven? Well right now, that
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: is that's all eyes are on. You're eleven right now?
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: For Will Compton, when you spent years in the NFL,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: when did you know like, Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: make it to the NFL.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: Had eight years old. I remember I would go to
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: like for me, it was I always knew how hard
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: it was to get to the end like that. While
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: while I knew I was good, I always knew there
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: was like another level and I'd never gone against that
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: other level. So I used to go to those all
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: American like the you know, the FBU All American games
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: when I was in like the seventh and eighth grade,
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: and I just remember them hype like they they thought
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: I was the punter. They gave me like the you know,
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: the wrong they spelled my name wrong on the jersey,
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: and I just like stuff like that mattered to me.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: And I just used to piss me off so much,
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: and it always like stuck with me. And uh, they
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: would hype up these other backs, like these other guys
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: you know, like so much unch and that was like
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: the poster of their whole thing. I'm like, mo, like,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: I'm looking better than that dude.
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: Somebody you're thinking about, who was somebody in the guy
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: you're thinking about right now.
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: He's my guy and I love him and he yeah.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: And by the way, at the time, looking back, he
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: probably he probably had the edge on me, which is
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: tough to admit. Yeah, it was Michelle ran ten seven
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: in the eighth grade, and you would have thought this guy,
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: I mean, he was an impressive he played varsity as
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: an eighth grader, and I just remember like he was
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: the gold standard in the middle and I'm talking. I'm
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: talking about middle school football right now. I don't but
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: you see playing eighth grade. Seriously, fat, how do you
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: play varsity in eighth grade American Heritage high school? I
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: and all his highlight tapes like he didn't even know this,
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: by the way, like but now he does. Yeah. I
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: used to like like I don't know what the rule
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: was in Florida, but in in Fort Lauderder, I guess
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: like they let him play varsity. I mean he was
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: balling five year letter in high school, so he was, yeah,
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: he was, he was, you know, and then did the
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: same thing. Went to be like army all American games,
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: same and it's all the backs that are in the league.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: So like, looking back, I should have been like, hey, man,
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: you're in the right class, like these are good, you know,
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: good backs, but I was it was still like, uh,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I always had to prove myself everywhere I've been, and
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: you know, I mean, it is what it is. I
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: feel like that's everyone's story. It's not like just me.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: I feel, you know, more, I talk to people more
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: like yeah, same, you know, but we all make up
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: some inemy and or every.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody has their own story, absolutely like they. I
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: don't know, got like three guys in my head right now.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: It's like I remember, I remember looking at dudes being like,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: these guys fucking don't even know. Yeah, they have no
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: idea what's about to come?
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Combine e er y dude, I'll never forget it. And
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I didn't even realize it either. I didn't look at
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: like the way they spelled my name, so I did
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: the whole thing. My buddies are hitting me up like, dude,
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: yeah damn tho they disrespected you.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, how does that make you feel?
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: You know what it's like? Because because I'm I get
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: like salty like that, I I notice it more like
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: I'm sure most people who aren't bitter like me, they're
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: probably like yeah whatever, like who cares, you know, and
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: they're fine, it doesn't matter. But because I like, you
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: know what I mean, I don't know, like you said,
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: you all you always create an enemy, and I think
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: that's what keeps guys going, like I, it's it's you.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: You have to keep that chip. Otherwise it's it's just
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: tough to find a purpose. You're not you're not the minority.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: I feel like keeping the chip, like there's way more
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: guys like that. And then most of the time that
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: there are these successful guys right that have that chip
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: always that are like this, people are out to get me,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: and one one little thing like spelling your last name wrong,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: like this is all I needed, Like this, this is
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: the affirmation I needed person to know. Yeah, you know that,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: like these people are really truly out to get me.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, that's how you feel. You're like, yeah, you
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: want me to fail, yes, yeah.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: And and honestly, if you really were able to zoom out,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: no one's thinking about you.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: Didn't care less, not one person, probably the marketing dude
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: who like couldn't even like he's just putting together the
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: like doing the jerseys in the back. It's not like
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: the NFL is not again. Roger Goodell.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Roger Goodell called was like, fuck it up, dude, we
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: cannot have a white running back in the NFL right now.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: All the guy's name wrong. Yeah, I know, yeah, it's crazy,
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: you know, but and and sometimes it is like that,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: but you know there's real stuff that where you're like, man,
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: somebody actually might feel like that. But then you find
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: the little things that just kind of subconsciously confirm it.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: It's like, it's just keeping me alive right now, Like
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: that's what's that's what's waking me up. You do seem
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: super fucking competitive. What's keeping you alive? Right now? What's
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: that game? That last game? Oh? Yeah, oh yeah, that'll
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: that'll I think everybody kind of feels that, you know,
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: the whole Yeah, I mean, that's there's a lot you know,
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: it was a good revival of a year of like
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: all right, let's go. You know, that's how I feel.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: You hope to play against Carolina soon. That thin gonna
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: be awesome. Dude.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: That was the best possible so you could have had.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: They are, do you guys play the next year? I
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: don't think we play next year? Know, I know, we
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: don't plan. You know, you know, they don't have any
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: other question.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: I know. I well, I just want to ask real quickly,
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: what's that? All right? Cool? Eight minutes? All right?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Uh matt ruhle he is now the head coach of Nebraska,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: what things do you have? Like obviously his time in
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: Carolina was up and down. He got fired, But what
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: do you think he's going to make him successful or
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: if he's even going to be successful in Nebraska?
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Like, what what can I look forward to? Yeah? What
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: can we look forward to? Seriously? The boys will play hard?
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Like that's one thing with coach rule, you know, you
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: buy into his his way, like guys play hard man
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: from top to bottom. I mean, you know the deal
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: in the NFL, how tough it is to coach in
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: this league, and a lot of things have to go right.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: I always said, like head coaching, quarterback, way too much credit,
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: way too much blame. But no I have I have
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: nothing but good things to say about Coltrull. He he
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: got us going, man, he really from from the first
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: year he got there too. And and the different things
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: that he did and learned in his time, and his
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: ability to change the things that he thought were wrong
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: I thought was impressive too, Like openness to talk to guys,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: being able to you know, say hey, that was probably
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: wrong of me to do and then change and actually
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: go by it, you know, understanding like hey, I don't
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: have it all figured out. I'm in year one two adaptability.
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: But I mean, you saw the success he had in college. Man,
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: that's I think it's a reason. Yeah, fires me up.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: That's amazing. Well, it does seem like a consistent message.
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: Like as far.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: As was Matt Rule, the one was Christian, the one
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Matt Rule said saw his family in the airport.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he had.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: He was very complimentive of you said that you were
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: walking out. I think it was when he got when
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: he got traded. Yeah, and you saw his family and
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: his and his kids in the in the airport.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Work, and you went up to them and said, what's up?
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: Onward man, onward and upward you guys. Yeah, yeah, it
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: was weird. Honestly, it's like, this is an interesting head.
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: Coach gets canned, I get canned. It's like, yeah, brother,
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: you didn't get canned. You know what I mean?
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: You can?
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: No, you think you gotta tell you would they would
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: they get in the trade? What did Carolina get?
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: They got a two, three, a four, and a five,
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: not all in the same year. I think I think
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: it's over a couple of years. Yeah, man, you know
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: he told himself that too, like, oh they didn't get me.
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: A first Okay, Okay, I know I would have handled it,
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: and I took that personal, and yeah, dude.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: We got it. Uh favor one of them and I've had.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: I think one that comes to mind was the first
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: place the Rose Bull I was. You know, that was
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: a game that I don't think anybody knew what was
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: gonna happen, and uh, I was pissed off, and uh
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: I just lost the heisman. The boy Derrick Henry, who's
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: the boy by the way. I love that guy. I
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: really do want to. I want to not like him.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: I can't. I love his game, I love him. I
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: think he's I think he's great.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: But then a couple of years ago, when you beat
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: us in Carolina, you're like, that's for you, Derek.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: But that game, that game, you know, I think that
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: that play sparked just uh one of those games where
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: just everything goes right for you. You know. I think
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: like the safety came down the middle, linebacker slip so
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: there's no whole player and then there's nobody behind the guy.
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: So I had to do is make him miss, and god,
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: it just house call. And I think we all knew,
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: like this is about to be one of those games.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: And then and then the flip against when I jumped
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: over that dude against Jacksonville. That was a fun play.
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: That hurt My back hurt for like six weeks after that,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: but that was that was a memorable one. That's fucking awesome.
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: I know, right makes you got anything, Garrett jack We
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: were winning, you know, I mean I think I think
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: like I have a hard time like when you're losing,
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: like celebrating, Like it's kind of like the urgency to
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: like get back to the huddle and get going a
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: little bits, you know. And you're not the first person
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: that said that, and I it might too be just
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: like when you get traded. It's there's a lot of
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: pressure that comes with that because you're on a new team,
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: but there's also like an amount of pressure that just
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: gets off your shoulders. You're like, you know what, man,
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: Like I'm gonna just go have fun playing football because
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: this is what I love to do. And you know,
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: I just think when you I we had so many
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: tough seasons in Carolina. I wanted more to celebrate than
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: like the touchdown. You know, I wanted to win games.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: I wanted to be like, not just win one get
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: win a couple in a row and then start to
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: get momentum. Then you start to see the boys having
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: a little more fun, but uh, just tough. Sometimes that
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: fires me up. Dude.
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: I'm pleasure with the I'm glad you with san Fran
- 1:30:20Speaker 4: because I feel like you guys are they can be
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: good for a while. They got the organization running smooth.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: It's just getting to the fucking super Bowl.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: Yeah right, not. I can get Rogers though Rogers say
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: he's not going to San Fran. You say that the
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: Raiders might have a shot at him.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: We'll see, Yeah, if the Raiders are the big one,
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: big one for him. But I thought he said in
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: a golf tournament, I'm not going to San Fran.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he said. Did you say that? I
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: don't know. I don't know why I am crushing this podcast.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: What kind of father you think you're gonna be? Kind
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: of father? Joe? Are we getting jersey tackles? We grounding
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: the kids? Or what are you doing that? You gotta
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: do what you know, That's all I know. All at
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: a boy, I worry about that. Though, I worry about that.
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: It's like, is my kid gonna hate eat me? Like, hey, man,
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: come over here real quick. We're gonna tape your jersey,
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: put it in from the fireplace, and do all this stuff.
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: And I was like seven thirty, all right, I forget
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: what got home from hoops like, but no, I mean
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: it's funny because it started to work like when he
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: did that, and I was like, damn, like, all right,
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: that's the way it is. That's the way it is.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: And I enjoyed having success more than I enjoyed like,
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: you know, staying up and all that stuff. It was
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: fun for me. So I think all of us hated
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: it at times, but under we all understood it. All
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: four of us stah. Yeah, but yeah, So what am
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: I gonna be? I don't know. That's a good question.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Maybe my kid will like do music or something and
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: maybe teach me some stuff about I don't know, who knows, dude.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: I appreciate you coming on.
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: And I just remember too, like your dad was Your
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: dad was one of my first NFL action figures. Oh nice, Yeah,
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: I was watching this, mister McCaffery. You were one of
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: my first action figures. My dad, you know, white receiver,
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: he white guy. You'renn it'll be like him.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: It's gonna be you. Yeah, but thanks for coming on.
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: Man, it's been guys having man appreciate you talking about
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: all the you know, forty nine or stuff.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: The trade. Yeah, it'll be.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: It'll be a good insight for people to see, like
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: what are your mindset was that, because I know a
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: lot of people are wondering.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: I can't wait for the stories with the old man
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: going coming out. I can see that stuff like Jersey
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: Jersey fucking getting ground.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: You might not see it, but one of his buddies
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: is gonna see it. You see this, he's like hunt
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: what he said? What He's gonna go watch all them videos,
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: all the McCaffrey brother like yeah.
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Hell yeah, Yeah.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: That's awesome, dude. He's here. Yeah, he's doing about he's
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: that radio road doing some medias, he does some stuff serious.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: Hell yeah, dude. He's still in the game, on the game,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: in the game, crushing it. So that's a lot.
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: Brother. Appreciate it, guys, Thank you man. Yeah,
