- 0:03Good morning, family, God, welcome back to the Morning Devo. Is
- 0:05your bro Sam Lopez? What is that? Is that a screen? It's
- 0:18crazy. Let's see my other cameras showing here on the screen. So I'm
- 0:28gonna have to move this a little bit over here. Get it outside the
- 0:33camera, ay man, because I want to do something special today. I'm
- 0:36going to be reading out of the Bible, Bible, so I want to
- 0:39put the cam on the Bible a man, because there's a lot I'm going
- 0:43to read today. My name is Sam Lopez ak DJ Sam Rock and you're
- 0:47watching or listening to the Morning Devo right now. I try to do these
- 0:51Mondays through Fridays five thirty am Eastern Standard time. Amen. And today I
- 0:57think it's important for us to read this whole chapter because I was trying to
- 1:02get a little clip out of this chapter, but I was like, nah,
- 1:03let me, let me read the whole chapter to get the whole idea
- 1:07in front of you, amen, and in front of us and inside of
- 1:11us. Because this is something that I believe during these summer months, a
- 1:15lot of people are going to be experiencing this unattractive life. I'm calling this
- 1:21unattractive life and there's a lot here, Amen, there's a lot here unattractive
- 1:29life. We're gonna be in a book of Genesis chapter nine, Genesis chapter
- 1:33nine. And let me get this ready here so that way I could read
- 1:37the notes as well, and hope this works out because I just changed my
- 1:42camera shot on the other camera. But it should work, Amen. I
- 1:47tried it out last night and it seemed like it was working. So you
- 1:52know, hopefully you know when you're live, things change, but you already
- 1:56know. I see your sister join it. Good morning, God bless you,
- 1:57welcome back to the morning. Can to see my system, my friend.
- 2:01Let me get my notes in front of me so that way I don't
- 2:05miss this all up with what I'm trying to say here, So unattractive life
- 2:10and has nothing to do with your appearance. And then when I say unattractive,
- 2:15people say, oh, well you look in the mirror and you're unattractive.
- 2:19Now not necessarily that could be part of it, but it's not where
- 2:23I'm going, and it's not where God has taken us. Amen. Everything
- 2:27and everyone that got created is beautiful, wonderfully made. He created us for
- 2:31a purpose and a plan, and in his eyes, we're all a beautiful
- 2:38thing. We're attractive, but undera attractive life, notable associations notable. These
- 2:43things are associated with drunkenness, and that leads to further sin, and it's
- 2:50unattractive. Sin is horrible. Sin is what separates us from a holy God.
- 2:54It'll be a Genesis Chapter nine. I'm calling this one unattractive life states.
- 3:00Hold on, I'm going to explain that, but we're going to read
- 3:02it before I explain it, Amen, and then we're going to go through
- 3:07it. There's so many I never knew how many verses they were that were
- 3:10associated with drunkenness in the scriptures. Amen. And I don't even think I
- 3:15searched them all out, but there's a lot there, and there's too many
- 3:20for morning devo. So this is going to have to turn into either I'm
- 3:23going to write a book about it, or I'm going to have to do
- 3:27the Blaze Bible Study, which is a longer version of a Bible study that
- 3:30I do periodically on the network. Amen. So let's go for it.
- 3:35If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or any prayer requests,
- 3:38don't have to take to leave it on a live chat. That's what we're
- 3:42here for Amen, and that's what we that's how we communicate with each other.
- 3:46We do the live chat. Also, I'm available right now on YouTube.
- 3:51The name of the YouTube channels DJ sam Rock. We stream alive day
- 3:54as well as social media platforms that allow us stream to go through. And
- 3:59also someone is with a Z that RG, which is the celeut radio network
- 4:02that Lee have Valley's number one urban gospel music station online since two thousand and
- 4:08eight. And that's always the go to website. Amen, that's our hub,
- 4:13that's our main page. Amen, right then and there, So let's
- 4:15go for it. Let's go for it. Like I said, any questions,
- 4:18comments, concerns on any prayer requests anytime during the morning devo, even
- 4:23if I'm not live. By the time you're watching this, something comes to
- 4:27your heart, something comes to your mind. Leaving on a live chat,
- 4:29Amen, I'll get back to you as soon as possible, and that includes
- 4:31the podcast. There's a live chat podcast on the podcast as well live chat
- 4:36section. So let's pray first. After we pray, we'll share this out
- 4:40for like sixty seconds, and then when we come back, we'll get right
- 4:43into Genesis nine. I want to literally read the whole chapter. Amen,
- 4:46there's a lot there. Well, I think we could do it. I
- 4:49think we have enough time to do that. You ready, Father God,
- 4:51to thank you, little God, that we are all attractive. We are
- 4:55all made by your wonderful hand. Your word says that in the wounds of
- 5:00our mother and the womb of our mothers, we were being formed in fashioned
- 5:03by your hands. Thank you, Lo God, for doing that. Thank
- 5:06you for touching us. Whether or not we believe or not, you have
- 5:11believed in us before we were even existing, before we were even born.
- 5:16You positioned us and purposed us, and have us all planned out for a
- 5:21purpose that is beautiful and attractive. But, Lo God, I come against
- 5:26the unattractiveness of this world, the unattractiveness of a drunken life, the unattractness
- 5:30of addiction, the unattractiveness of all that that happens in life that causes us
- 5:35to stray from your purpose and your plan. Let that not be us,
- 5:40Low God. But if it is, and if we're in that scenario and
- 5:43we're that area, Low God, I know, Lord Jesus, that we
- 5:46could call upon your name and you will rescue us, save us, and
- 5:49you will restore us and take us from the darkness and put us into your
- 5:53marvelous light. Thank you for the power of love, grace, mercy.
- 5:57Thank you, Lo God for guiding, guarding and protecting us. I pray
- 6:00I had your protection over myself, my wife, our children, our household,
- 6:03a studio, every place where we go. Lo God, that you
- 6:05will set forth arkwen angels and ministering angels to God and protect us. And
- 6:11I pray that over every single family member represented on the other side of the
- 6:14screen and on the other side of this mic, that they would low God
- 6:17be receiving from you Holy spirit. God, that you will move in their
- 6:21hearts and minds as well. And Lo God, that you would teach us
- 6:25today as you can only teach because you are the chief Rabbi. You are
- 6:29the awesome teacher. You're an amazing God. And I thank you for your
- 6:31love. And thank you, Lo God for your eternal life that you have
- 6:34promised us. I pray Lord God that as we move through this chapter,
- 6:39that you would show us clearly what's going on here and what we could apply
- 6:43today in our lives. And Jesus name, my prayer is by favor,
- 6:46and those who agree we say Amen and Amen. We're going for it today.
- 6:50Help me share this out sixty seconds. When we come back, will
- 6:54be going into Genesis chapter number nine right here on today's morning debo. Let
- 6:59me quickly before I switched the screen to the timer, let me let the
- 7:03group know that I'm here. I always forget to do that, and the
- 7:06group needs to know that we're live as well. Right the Blaze Boba Studies
- 7:10group. So if you're not on that group, it's a private group.
- 7:13I privatize it just for privacy reasons, Amen, to protect your privacy and
- 7:19to make sure I'm respecting your comments and concerns that you place on that page.
- 7:24A man, So I'll be right back. Give me sixty seconds and
- 7:27we'll jump right into Genesis chapter nine. I'm calling this one unattractive life.
- 7:31Bear with me, trust me, this is gonna be a good one.
- 7:33I'll be right back. Heymen, Amen, we're back. I was looking
- 9:05at and I didn't want to click back to my camera. I think it's
- 9:09because it knows I have two cameras connected now and it's gonna try some weird
- 9:13stuff on me. But a man will to take this on the screen for
- 9:16us to all see what's going on. In the scriptures as I'm reading a
- 9:20word for word, line for line, Amen, out of the Bible,
- 9:24the written Bible, not a It's not a digital like I always put on
- 9:28the screen today, because I think there was so much that I just wanted
- 9:31to read through it and man and try to take my time and let let
- 9:35us dive into it fully so that way we can know the whole idea behind
- 9:39It's unattractive life. Because I looked at the title and I was like,
- 9:43if I just say that and read one scripture, I take a lot of
- 9:46people get thrown off what he's saying. I'm ugly, what are you saying,
- 9:48I'm unattractive. I'm not saying that to anyone, to myself or to
- 9:52anyone. I'm just gonna read what the scripture says in Genesis chapter nine,
- 9:56and it's about a famous person that we know we His name is Noah Amen.
- 10:01And Noah was prompted by God was asked by God to do something Amen,
- 10:07to build an arc. He didn't know why he was building. He
- 10:11just knew that God told him to build it. God gave him the dimensions.
- 10:13God gave him the idea, the concept. He gave him the tools,
- 10:18and everything that he needed that was necessary to do what he needed to
- 10:20do to build this arc. But in chapter nine something happened. Amen.
- 10:26Remember God, anyway, we'll see. We'll see in the scriptures God found
- 10:31favor with or granted favor or gave. Let me just read it because there's
- 10:41a lot here. So let's go Genesis chapter nine. This one's called Unattractive
- 10:43life. Amen, and bear with me. I want to see if this
- 10:48is going to work. Amen. See that little space there that gat That's
- 10:52why I want to put the cam. So bear with me. Let me
- 10:56see going here. I think I put it here ready, So there we
- 11:09go. All right, So there's the second camera that I was talking about.
- 11:13Amen. Hopefully you can see this. Amen. I know it's a
- 11:16little far away, but let's do it. Let's do it. Genesis chapter
- 11:22nine. I think I'm all always zoomed in, so apologies, I can't.
- 11:31I don't notice, so I have my glasses on. Sometimes that makes
- 11:35it worse when I'm reading these small letters. Genesis chapter nine. So God
- 11:37blessed Noah and his sons and said to them be fruitful and multiply. That's
- 11:43something he told Adam and Eve. Right, Remember that He told Adam and
- 11:48Eve be fruitful and multiply. And he's the same guy yesterday, today,
- 11:50and forever more. And he's telling Noah to be fruitful and multiply and fill
- 11:56the earth. And the fear of you, you and the dread of you
- 12:01shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air,
- 12:07on all that move on the earth, and all the fish of the
- 12:11sea. They are given into your hand. Every moving thing that lives shall
- 12:18be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the
- 12:22green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is
- 12:28its blood. Surely, for your life blood, I will demand a reckoning.
- 12:33From the hand of every beast, I will require it, and from
- 12:37the hand of man, from the hand of every man's brother, I will
- 12:41require the life of man. That's deep there, I'm gonna keep on going.
- 12:46Hey, man, I know that's deep. You have to study that
- 12:48out. I'm trying to get to the point here. Whoever sheds man's blood,
- 12:54We're in verse number six. Whoever sheds man's blood by man, and
- 13:00his blood shall be shed for in the image of God he made man.
- 13:05And as for you, be fruitful and multiply, He says it again,
- 13:09bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it. So we were
- 13:15called to multiply, right, or Noah is being told. Noah and his
- 13:20sons are supposed to multiply, advance, right, supposed to bring things and
- 13:26expand things. Verse number eight. Then God spoke to Noah and to his
- 13:31sons with him, saying, and as for me, behold, I establish
- 13:37my covenant that the promise with you, and with your descendants after you,
- 13:43and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle,
- 13:48and every beast of the earth with you. Of all that go out
- 13:52of the ark, go out of the ark. You see that every beast
- 13:56of the earth that go out of the ark, every eat of the earth.
- 14:01Thus I establish my covenant a promise with you. Never again shall all
- 14:07flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood. Never again shall there
- 14:13be a flood to destroy the earth. That's a promise from God. He's
- 14:16not going to destroy the earth anymore. Amen, with water. He did
- 14:22it once. He said he's not going to do it again. And that's
- 14:26where the promised rainbow comes into action. Right. And God said, this
- 14:33is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every
- 14:37living creature that is with you for perpetual generations. I set my rainbow,
- 14:46God said, I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be
- 14:50for the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. See that very
- 14:56clear. I know we make stuff up about the scripture, but God is
- 15:01clear about the scripture. Amen, he knows what he's talking about me and
- 15:07the earth. It shall be when I bring a cloud over the earth,
- 15:13that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. God does that. When
- 15:18we see the rainbow, praise the Lord, me and you and every living
- 15:26creature of all flesh. The water shall never again become a flood to destroy
- 15:31all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look
- 15:37on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all
- 15:43flesh that is on the earth. And God said to Noah, this is
- 15:46the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that
- 15:54is on the earth. So we have the promise of the reminder and the
- 16:00of the rainbow. Like I can't make this up. And you already know
- 16:07what the world is saying the rainbow represents Noah and his sons. Now the
- 16:12sons of Noah who went out of the ark with shem, Ham and Jpeth,
- 16:18and Ham was the father of Canaan. These three were the sons of
- 16:23Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated. So that answers the
- 16:30question. A lot of people ask, how are the already people here in
- 16:33the Book of Genesis. That's because the Genesis, the Book of Genesis was
- 16:37the story of the beginning of the creation. But it's not necessarily the first
- 16:41book, the oldest book in the Bible. Some theologians say the oldest book
- 16:45in the Bible is job. Okay, so there's already people here when that
- 16:48book was released, okay. Verse twenty and Noah began to be a farmer,
- 16:53and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was
- 16:59drunk. The same Noah that God promised all of this, The same Noah
- 17:03that God blessed, The same Noah that God knew that he was going to
- 17:07be faithful to him. This same Noah began to be a farmer and he
- 17:11planted a vineyard. I believe we could see this. Let me see something
- 17:15real quick, Yeah, we see it. He planted a vineyard, and
- 17:22he planted the vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk and
- 17:26became uncovered in his tent. In other words, he was naked, so
- 17:30he drank, so he was drunk and he got naked. I was sharing
- 17:34the other day that that happened to me, and man, I didn't know
- 17:37this scripture. And then I was in the world that happened to me.
- 17:41I drank so much that for whatever reason, he got naked in the bathroom,
- 17:45and I didn't know what I was doing. Uh. So that's how
- 17:48drunk I was. And it seems like Noah was that drunk. And Ham
- 17:53the father of Canaan. One of his sons saw the nakedness of his father
- 17:57and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and jp F took a garment,
- 18:06laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness
- 18:10of their father. They didn't even want to look at them, so they
- 18:12walked in backwards, you know, out of respect. They were like,
- 18:15this is weird. Dad is drunk. I'm gonna walking backwards. We're gonna
- 18:18cover him. Their faces were turned away and they did not see their father's
- 18:22neckedness. So Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had
- 18:30done to him. Then he said, kurse b Canaan, a servant of
- 18:33servants, he shall be to his brethren. He was mad. I don't
- 18:38know why they were doing a good thing for him. He was mad.
- 18:42But that's what happens. You become unattractive, you become drunk, and then
- 18:48your drunkenness, you wake up angry, you wake up hungover, you wake
- 18:51up with like like a disgust in your in your in your mind or whatever.
- 18:55And he said, blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem,
- 18:59and make Canaan be his servant. May God in large jpf and be and
- 19:03may he dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.
- 19:07And Noah check this out out. And God says this for a reason.
- 19:12And Noah, where's where's the where my here? And Noah number ten,
- 19:21that's how gonna goud make sure I'm seeing everything here see that, Uh
- 19:27there goes And Noah there goes. Lived after the flood three hundred and fifty
- 19:37years three hundred and fifty years old. He was so all the days of
- 19:41Noah were nine hundred and fifty years and he died. Noah lived nine hundred
- 19:48and fifty years. But this episode of him being drunk and cursing one of
- 19:52his sons and the other two he blessed was based on his drunkenness. Why
- 19:56did it? I guess he was wondering why and his other son go in
- 20:02to cover him with the garments. I think it's because he didn't realize that
- 20:06that son, Sham, Ham and Jabev, these three sons of Noah,
- 20:11one of them said, listen to the other ones. Dad is drunk.
- 20:15He's in a tent. Sham and Jbev took a garment. So Ham saw
- 20:22right, and Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the negatives of the
- 20:26father, and he told his two brothers. So basically he should have been
- 20:30blessed too. But because of Noah's drunkenness and him being in a place of
- 20:37I don't know what you want to call it, a place of I don't
- 20:41know what's the word for it, he was unattractive. He was being in
- 20:48that place of drunkenness and not recognizing that his sons loved him, not recognizing
- 20:53that he was in a good place where his sons respected him so much that
- 20:59they didn't want to look at him in that situation. They didn't want to
- 21:02look at him that way a man. And because he didn't see I guess
- 21:06his other sons or his other son. He cursed the one that he didn't
- 21:11see when when they gave him the garments, and he blessed the other two.
- 21:15That's unattractive. Amen, that's not right, it's not And God gave
- 21:21Noah all this favor man, and God blessed Noah and his situation. And
- 21:26yet he became a farmer, He became something that he thought he had to
- 21:30be to do what he had to do. But somehow, some way,
- 21:34his drunkenness messed things up. But God still, through his grace, allowed
- 21:40him to live. But I said, nine hundred and fifty years, some
- 21:42incredible thing like that a man, and he lived through the flood. And
- 21:48he lived because God told him to live. He had dominion over the every
- 21:52living creature, every crawling creature. A man. He was told what to
- 21:56eat, what not to eat. He was blessed with sons a man and
- 21:59his us had wives. This is an amazing story. I know, it's
- 22:03a lot for more in Devo. But I just wanted to show you that
- 22:06that's unattractive, that life is unattractive. At that point, he was gone.
- 22:11He was not thinking straight a man, and because he wasn't thinking straight,
- 22:17he literally cursed one of his sons. And I know, I noticed
- 22:21people out here out there that probably station right where they were fine with their
- 22:27dad or their parents, and they were blessed by their parents, and all
- 22:32of a sudden, one or both of their parents started to get into this
- 22:36drunken lifestyle and started living in a certain way that wasn't pleasing to God.
- 22:40And for whatever reason, now they're kind of like cursing one of their children
- 22:45or their sons or their daughters, whatever, because of their drunkenness. A
- 22:49man, there's negative effects from drunkenness, and that's evident. We see that
- 22:53in chapter nine of Genesis. I wanted to show the whole thing because I
- 22:57want you to show you that God bless them. Then God gave him a
- 23:00covenant of promise amen, and him and his sons were promised, and they
- 23:04were told to multiply subdued, they were told to expand they were told to
- 23:08do some good things. And then God said, I'm going to put my
- 23:12covenant assigned the rainbow in the cloud to remind you and the earth won't be
- 23:18flooding anymore. A man that's been between the promise of God and the earth,
- 23:23and he still shows up this rainbow. To this very day, we
- 23:26see rainbows and that's the remind of what happened because of Noah. Noah and
- 23:33God. God's covenant to Noah. Amen is reminding the earth that no,
- 23:38I'm not going to flood you. God's coming back with fire. By the
- 23:41way, He's not going to flood the earth anymore. So when you see
- 23:44these floods happening all throughout the earth, Amen, I know they're horrible.
- 23:48I know people lose lives and all that happens. I'm not downplaying it.
- 23:52It's horrible. But God's not going to flood the earth again. He's not.
- 23:56He promised. That's his covenant. We see all through that, all
- 24:00through that where we read the negative effects of a drunken life. He's drank
- 24:06wine. He got so drunk he got naked, and his son saw it,
- 24:10told his two brother brothers and other brothers came. His two brothers came
- 24:15with garments to clothe his dad. But they walked them backwards. They didn't
- 24:18want to lay their eyes on him because he was that drunk, he was
- 24:22in that unattractive life. He was unattractive that at that point. And that
- 24:26was their own dad, that was their own dad. And I know,
- 24:29like I said, I just feel and I know that this people right now
- 24:32struggling with this situation, maybe with their dad, maybe with their mom,
- 24:34with with their parents, maybe them themselves are struggling this area of drunkenness,
- 24:38and they don't think there's a way out. There is a way out.
- 24:41There's a promise of God a man that you could hold on to for you,
- 24:45for you personally. In the scripture, hold on to the word.
- 24:48Maybe you could use that rainbow as a sign of God's promise to the earth
- 24:52that's coming into the earth, between God and the earth. But you could
- 24:56look at it and say, if God promised and made a covenant with Noah
- 25:00and Noah would get drunk, right, and he was in that drunken state,
- 25:03and yet Noah lived all those years afterwards, right, Because that's the
- 25:07grace of God. It's not the it's not the it's not the what the
- 25:12wrath of God. Like people say, oh, the old Covenant is only
- 25:15about the wrath of God. The new covenants the grace of God knows not.
- 25:18It's the same God, yesterday, today, forevermore. Amen. So
- 25:22that association with drunkenness leads to an unattractive life, and that unattractiveness leads to
- 25:30further sin. So we saw it. There's exposure a man when you are
- 25:36drunk, exposure, nakedness. Amen. I'm not gonna go through the scriptures,
- 25:41but I'm gonna just show you the categories. There's a lot of scriptures.
- 25:45Staggering. When you're drunk, you start staggering right, you're not even
- 25:48walking straight. That's why when you're stopped at a sobriety checkpoint and the police
- 25:56think you're, you know, swerving too much on the road, they'll tell
- 25:57you to come out and flash a light on you because usually that is in
- 26:02the evening. Usually it's in the evening, and ask you to walk.
- 26:04If you can't walk, if you're staggering, that's an indicator that you're drunk.

- 26:15You're not even all there, and I'm out of time. I can't believe

- 26:42know I knew that was gonna happen around the time because I read the whole
- 26:45thing. But Genesis chapter nine, we read it. You could read it
- 26:48again. Amen. If you have any questions, comments, concerns about this,
- 26:52don't hesitate to leaving on a life chat later on. Amen, So
- 26:55I'm out of here. Thank you so much for giving me your time and
- 26:57being patient with me as I used the cam for the Bible. Amen.
- 27:00Thank you so much for hanging out with me for these morning DeVos. God
- 27:03bless you, God keep you, and remember always that God is good. Please,
