  Speaker 1: and be able to reach their hearts and minds and

  Speaker 1: be able to apply these verses to their lives.

  Speaker 2: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen. So,

  Speaker 2: we're going to be in verse of the day and

  Speaker 2: it's going to be in James.

  Speaker 1: chapter 5, verse 16, if you would like to grab

  Speaker 2: Because what God has for you, God has for you.

  Speaker 1: There's no way really around it. And we all try

  Speaker 1: to find our own way. And I know it was

  Speaker 1: exhausting for me. Whether it was before I was a believer.

  Speaker 2: or during the believing season. Because I truthfully, honestly....

  Speaker 1: Know how difficult it is to really have faith in
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: this world. I know firsthand. And please forgive me for the...

  Speaker 1: the rain sounds on my umbrella.
• 1:49
  Speaker 2: But....

  Speaker 1: Yeah, this is kind of how I'm doing it right now.

  Speaker 1: This is how the Spirit has me. And no matter
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: where I'm at, no matter my circumstances... I know that

  Speaker 1: God's going to provide because I've been an eyewitness to,
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: in even my bottom, I was saved. And that's not
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: by my own doing. That's not by my own willpower.
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: That's by His grace. And everybody has their own experience.
• 2:24
  Speaker 2: And that's something that you have to keep in mind.

  Speaker 2: And I know that I'm going a little A little deeper.

  Speaker 2: Into this. But I'm giving you enough time to get

  Speaker 2: I've always had love. For people.

  Speaker 1: And as I walk through the floods of my city,

  Speaker 1: we've been getting some serious rain. And there's a tropical

  Speaker 1: storm that is heading this way.

  Speaker 2: Not necessarily a direct hit, but that does not matter.

  Speaker 2: Anything that.

  Speaker 1: Affects my state affects me. And obviously, we're getting the
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: outer bands of it already.

  Speaker 2: And it was a really quiet Hurricane season.

  Speaker 1: I know that we need this rain and I know
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: that I'm getting off topic. So please bear with me

  Speaker 1: as I'm walking as I do this as well. So

  Speaker 1: that's enough about the show. That's enough about how we're
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: going to go about this as I walk as well.

  Speaker 2: James chapter 5 verse 16. Let's dive in. Let's see
• 3:54
  Speaker 2: what the Spirit has to say along with the Word
• 3:57
  Speaker 2: of God.

  Speaker 1: James chapter 5 verse 16 states, So you should tell
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: each other about any wrong things that you have done.

  Speaker 2: Now let me stop right there. That is a great
• 4:09
  Speaker 2: first sentence.

  Speaker 1: How many of us keep secrets? How many of us
• 4:15
  Speaker 1: hold grudges? And I'm not.
• 4:19
  Speaker 2: Talking about like the gossip type of conversation. I really
• 4:26
  Speaker 2: know that there's certain people... That you can tell certain
• 4:30
  Speaker 2: things and then there's certain people you can't. And I've
• 4:35
  Speaker 2: had to learn this the hard way.
• 4:37
  Speaker 1: I tend to open up to just about anybody that
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: gives me attention.
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: Or if somebody gives me that comfort, right?
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: And they can mishandle it. And they can also throw
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: it back in your face. Been there, done that, wrote
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: the book, got the shirt. You know, rode the rollercoaster.
• 4:58
  Speaker 2: But that first sentence was very powerful. And it follows
• 5:05
  Speaker 2: in the same verse.
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: Then you will be able to pray for each other
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: so that God.
• 5:14
  Speaker 2: Makes you well again. When a good person prays to God,
• 5:18
  Speaker 2: God does powerful things. And that was hearted by 1.576
• 5:22
  Speaker 2: million people.

  Speaker 1: Also shared 619,000.
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: Shares on this verse of the day.

  Speaker 1: So, being transparent with each other, being honest, and not
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: holding these shortcomings against one another, which we tend.

  Speaker 2: To all do. Sorry, I'm going to do a tree, basically. Anyways.

  Speaker 1: Anyways. I'm very grateful that I can be able to

  Speaker 1: pray for others and those that want harm done on
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: me as well. It's amazing to be in this state
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: of mind compared to the state of mind I had
• 6:20
  Speaker 1: three years ago. And the Holy Spirit has done some
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: marvelous things. as well as I have to give myself
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: credit for not putting the toxins into my body, not
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: hanging around certain people, going to certain places that do
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: not feed my purpose, but distracts me from what God
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: really wants to do in my life.
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: I was easily distracted.
• 6:49
  Speaker 1: But now that I see what God wants to do,
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: and being an obedient participant in this wisdom that I'm obtaining...
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: through doing the next right thing, going to not only
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: just church service, but going to meetings, going to celebrate recovery,
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: being around the broken, right?
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: Nobody is crushed.
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: If you have woken up today, God has given you
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: an opportunity to make things right or to make things wrong.
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: We can keep digging our grave or we can say,
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: you know, Lord, I'm ready to get up out of
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: this grave.
• 7:30
  Speaker 2: And I'm not talking about a physical death. I'm talking
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: about a spiritual, mental. We all tend to not want
• 7:37
  Speaker 2: to get out of it. Completely.
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: But on the other side, it's joy, freedom. That does
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: not mean that sorrow won't come around. That doesn't mean that.
• 7:54
  Speaker 2: People will not let you down.
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: You just got to be careful of the people that
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: drag you down.
• 8:03
  Speaker 2: They will drag you down. If they see you doing
• 8:06
  Speaker 2: better than them. They don't want to put the work in.

  Speaker 1: Oh, watch out for the envy. Watch out for the jealousy.

  Speaker 1: And it'll be the people that you love most.

  Speaker 2: That'll be the jealous. The most. Be the most jealous.

  Speaker 2: Let me rephrase that.

  Speaker 1: So as I continued to go on my walk after

  Speaker 1: a wonderful meeting, after a really decent day, even though
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: it was a rainy day, I didn't get stuck in it.

  Speaker 2: And I also want to make this clear.

  Speaker 1: Let's jump into James chapter 5, verse 16 again.

  Speaker 2: And I want to repeat that first sentence.

  Speaker 1: So... You should tell each other about any wrong things

  Speaker 1: that you have done.

  Speaker 2: This is where we get stuck most of the time though.

  Speaker 2: It's hard to open up to people about what has
• 9:17
  Speaker 2: been done to you. As well as what you have
• 9:23
  Speaker 2: done to others.

  Speaker 1: How many of us try to persuade people into thinking.
• 9:31
  Speaker 2: How great we really are, right?
• 9:34
  Speaker 1: How many times have we felt comfortable to tell somebody
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: something that they should know?
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: And we don't. And we don't tell them the truth.

  Speaker 2: We don't be honest with them. And that lingers. That
• 9:55
  Speaker 2: lingers into... allowing negativity. to creep up. Holding grudges.

  Speaker 1: I can go deeper into this, but I really want
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: to get into James chapter 5 and go a little deeper.

  Speaker 2: James chapter 5, verse 16, and.

  Speaker 1: 17, for example, God's prophet Elijah was an ordinary person
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: like you and I. As we are, we prayed to God.
• 10:30
  Speaker 2: That it would not rain. He continued to pray. Hold on,

  Speaker 2: hold on.

  Speaker 1: He continued to pray and it did not rain on

  Speaker 1: the land for three years and six months.

  Speaker 2: We've got three minutes. To be able to help others

  Speaker 1: And that does not mean you have to cram Jesus

  Speaker 1: Christ down people's throats.

  Speaker 2: No. That's where a lot of Christians go wrong.

  Speaker 1: And they just say, you know, oh, I'll be praying

  Speaker 1: for you, which I do believe in the power of prayer.

  Speaker 2: But there's also another element that needs to be discussed.

  Speaker 2: We are all like Jesus in a sense. We are
• 12:10
  Speaker 2: all spitting images of God. We were all put together
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: by the Spirit of God.
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: But also, it's amazing to see not only my growth,
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: but other people's growth. Now that I pay attention to it.
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: Now that it's not all about me. Now that it's
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: not all about what can I get out of this
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: relationship or what can I get out of this friendship, right?
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: I stand here and I just look at the rain falling.
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: And I think about my circumstances right now. And it
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: could be so much worse. God has given me everything
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: I need to get out of this situation. He has
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: equipped me with everything that I need. And when I
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: feel as if I can't take it no more, there's informants.
• 13:11
  Speaker 2: There's angels.
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: That come down. And not only comfort but guide. And
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit. Having that consciousness. It's very hard to
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: describe to someone that has not experienced it. You have
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: to experience it. In order to be able to share it.
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: Having the Holy Spirit with me. Even when I was
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: doing bad.
• 13:40
  Speaker 2: I got one minute. even when my attitude was.
• 13:45
  Speaker 1: Horrible, still feeling God's grace and mercy on my life,
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: why would I ever turn back to the old ways
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: of living? And I'm not just talking about a relapse.
• 14:05
  Speaker 1: I'm talking about the way of thinking, the way of,
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: Using my time, my efforts, my energy, my loyalty has
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: all gone to God.
• 14:21
  Speaker 2: Jesus and the Holy Spirit. My recovery is second. I
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: had a significant other, was number three. Single now.
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: My brother and my mother, those are the top five.
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: You need to get a top five. priority list.
• 14:45
