- 3:26Speaker 11: All right, welcome back in our number two of O
- 3:29Speaker 11: t V or Live from the Raising Kine Studio. LSU
- 3:35Speaker 11: Baseball with a familiar foe coming up this weekend. But
- 3:40Speaker 11: I do have to admit with no Tony v there,
- 3:44Speaker 11: it does feel a little bit different.
- 3:48Speaker 12: Their friends are still terrible though they're still they are
- 3:51Speaker 12: They're still they're still feeding off and looking off of
- 3:53Speaker 12: the Tony Btello era. I mean, he brought a certain
- 3:55Speaker 12: level of cockiness to that program, and it's it's very
- 3:58Speaker 12: much still there. Lander was an assistant under Votello.
- 4:02Speaker 11: So yeah, I'm trying to wait to see if if
- 4:04Speaker 11: Jay can hop on. Obviously like travel and practice and
- 4:07Speaker 11: different things. Trynessee if he can hop on. At the
- 4:09Speaker 11: end of today's show, Uh yeah, it's gonna be Friday, Saturday,
- 4:13Speaker 11: Sunday obviously against Tennessee.
- 4:14Speaker 5: It's gonna be in Knoxville.
- 4:16Speaker 11: But you know, again, like I only say that not
- 4:18Speaker 11: to say that, like Tennessee is a bad baseball team.
- 4:20Speaker 11: Now they are not where they have been, but with
- 4:23Speaker 11: Tony Botello and L. S U and Jay Johnson, there
- 4:27Speaker 11: was a thing, like it was the thing because of
- 4:29Speaker 11: the way they played, and.
- 4:30Speaker 5: It was good. And I love it. I love.
- 4:32Speaker 11: I love when you don't like the other team at all,
- 4:35Speaker 11: just like their fans probably love to play L.
- 4:37Speaker 13: S U.
- 4:38Speaker 14: Like, I get that now, the whole, the whole little bit,
- 4:40Speaker 14: the whole L s U Tennessee situation and not liking
- 4:43Speaker 14: the Tennessee play. I know they were cocky, right, yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 14: a little arrogant. Uh, But that was before I was
- 4:48Speaker 14: a stitchhead certified, so I don't really know. But were
- 4:52Speaker 14: they doing a lot of it?
- 4:53Speaker 9: And maybe you can back I think a lot of it,
- 4:55Speaker 9: Matt is the fans.
- 4:57Speaker 11: Like fans the worst I thought I was just taking
- 5:01Speaker 11: like and fans going back and forth on Twitter.
- 5:05Speaker 14: Where their players doing like dard are like balls before
- 5:09Speaker 14: it was socially acceptable. Now it's socially acceptable. That's what
- 5:15Speaker 14: they're doing. That type of look at it, and again
- 5:18Speaker 14: I like it.
- 5:18Speaker 11: Yeah, to each your own like, let's let's have a
- 5:21Speaker 11: fun baseball series.
- 5:22Speaker 5: It's a little chippy. Yeah, and I'll sweep them.
- 5:25Speaker 11: That'd be fun. I wouldn't hate that because they just
- 5:28Speaker 11: got swept. Hey did you see the way they got
- 5:31Speaker 11: swept every slam?
- 5:33Speaker 5: Right?
- 5:33Speaker 9: Well, yeah, but everyone off.
- 5:35Speaker 11: Every one of their losses in that series against Vanderbilt
- 5:38Speaker 11: was a walk off?
- 5:39Speaker 5: Was it really all three games? Dude?
- 5:41Speaker 14: A walk off grand slam down by three? Bottom of
- 5:46Speaker 14: Like that is what you play. It's the old no
- 5:49Speaker 14: fear t shirt, the note Like, it's what you play
- 5:51Speaker 14: with a broomstick and a rubber band ball like in
- 5:53Speaker 14: the back, like in the backyard or in the neighborhood,
- 5:56Speaker 14: the cul de sac, like that is like the things
- 5:58Speaker 14: you draw up. That's that is the situation that every
- 6:02Speaker 14: kid has played out in the street. Yes, out of
- 6:07Speaker 14: the ninth bases, loaded down by three home run grand slam,
- 6:12Speaker 14: and you do like and that is a very rare
- 6:15Speaker 14: thing to see, especially in a state matchup. Yeah, Tennessee
- 6:23Speaker 14: versus Vanderbilt and an SEC Like, it's incredible, I mean,
- 6:26Speaker 14: what incredible scenes that was. But yeah, I didn't realize
- 6:30Speaker 14: they got walked off three times. Yeah, the entire series.
- 6:33Speaker 11: So now Tennessee's nineteen and ten, three and six in
- 6:36Speaker 11: conference play, and they are towards the very bottom of
- 6:39Speaker 11: the SEC. Of course, LSU is look, I mean, Lsho's
- 6:43Speaker 11: four and five, so they got some work to do
- 6:46Speaker 11: to say the least as well. Twenty and ten overall.
- 6:48Speaker 11: So if we take a look at the overall standings,
- 6:50Speaker 11: Mississippi State right now twenty five and four, they've won
- 6:54Speaker 11: nine in a row, seven to two in conference play.
- 6:56Speaker 11: Texas and Georgia also seven and two in SEC played.
- 6:59Speaker 11: Then you've got Alabama and Florida at six and three.
- 7:02Speaker 11: You've got Texas A and M Kentucky and Vanderbilt at
- 7:05Speaker 11: five and four, and then you've got the group of
- 7:07Speaker 11: four and five which is Alburn, Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas. Then
- 7:11Speaker 11: you've got old Miss Tennessee at three and six in
- 7:13Speaker 11: Missouri and South Carolina both one and eight in conference place.
- 7:17Speaker 11: South Carolina the only team in the SEC that has
- 7:20Speaker 11: a losing record fourteen and sixteen overall.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Paul Minary of course no longer the head coach.
- 7:25Speaker 11: They're at South Carolina, but it is it's wild to
- 7:29Speaker 11: see Tennessee down there and old Miss Arkansas LSU. Some
- 7:35Speaker 11: teams that typically are at the top of the SEC
- 7:37Speaker 11: standings down there towards the bottom.
- 7:41Speaker 5: It's early, totally two sec series.
- 7:44Speaker 9: In no, you are three three sec series.
- 7:48Speaker 14: It's early, but it's starting to get late wait quick.
- 7:53Speaker 14: So yeah, it's just one of those some one of
- 7:56Speaker 14: those things that happens when the conference is really strong
- 8:00Speaker 14: and there's good teams everywhere. You just don't really know
- 8:02Speaker 14: what's gonna happen. But look, I don't really care about
- 8:06Speaker 14: the other guys.
- 8:09Speaker 11: L sweeps alunt just a good opportunity for LSU to
- 8:12Speaker 11: go on the road against the team that I can't
- 8:14Speaker 11: imagine where their their mentals are right now after how
- 8:17Speaker 11: it happened against Vanderbilt. Now, look that I don't know
- 8:21Speaker 11: what the crowds have been like at Tennessee, but whatever
- 8:23Speaker 11: it is, they're going to set their record for this
- 8:24Speaker 11: year when LSU comes to town. That's just kind of facts.
- 8:27Speaker 11: That's just the way it is. But you have an opportunity,
- 8:30Speaker 11: and would you like a sweep. Yeah, but we all know,
- 8:32Speaker 11: like if you're going to run the SEC and you
- 8:34Speaker 11: win two a three, like you're feeling like you're in
- 8:35Speaker 11: a good spot because if you do that if you're LSU.
- 8:38Speaker 11: Then you come back home and you've gotten to five
- 8:40Speaker 11: hundred in conference play. Yeah, you know that, Like that's
- 8:43Speaker 11: got to be your goal. Get to five hundred, then hey,
- 8:45Speaker 11: hit a reset. All right, five hundred. We're four series in.
- 8:49Speaker 11: All right, let's go put our head down. See what
- 8:50Speaker 11: these last six series? You know what you can get done?
- 8:53Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm just I'm excited to see Case and Evans
- 8:56Speaker 14: take the mound.
- 8:57Speaker 5: What who are we going to see at?
- 8:59Speaker 14: Can he go on the road in a hostile environment
- 9:02Speaker 14: and give us a performance like he did here against Oklahoma, Like,
- 9:05Speaker 14: because we know the kind of dude he is. Jay
- 9:08Speaker 14: said it on the show. He said, he is a dude.
- 9:11Speaker 14: He just has to go out there and have a
- 9:14Speaker 14: strong perform. He got in trouble early this past weekend
- 9:18Speaker 14: against Kentucky and then but he righted it right, he
- 9:20Speaker 14: got back into his rhythm. But control your pitches, throw
- 9:24Speaker 14: strikes and because we've seen when he is good, like
- 9:27Speaker 14: he's as good as anybody in the country. So can
- 9:30Speaker 14: we get that consistently weekend? We like, he's going to
- 9:34Speaker 14: need to be that guy every single week. If La
- 9:37Speaker 14: she wants to achieve the goals that they want to
- 9:40Speaker 14: like that they set for themselves at the end of
- 9:41Speaker 14: the day.
- 9:42Speaker 11: It's such a table setter. If you win that first
- 9:44Speaker 11: game and then it's like all right, you win the
- 9:45Speaker 11: first one. Then you got Schmid going in the second game.
- 9:48Speaker 11: And let's say you don't have to use Zach Cowen
- 9:50Speaker 11: as well, like you have him still able to help
- 9:53Speaker 11: William Schmidt like build together and bridge together this game.
- 9:57Speaker 14: Well, one of those guys has to go a long way. Yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 14: either Friday, so like yeah, one of those starters has
- 10:02Speaker 14: to go a long way to save your bullpen for Sunday. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 14: so they somebody's got to have it. But we've just
- 10:10Speaker 14: we've seen it with Caseon. We've seen the potential, we've
- 10:13Speaker 14: seen his talent. That's why it's kind of frustrated when
- 10:16Speaker 14: you you see him kind of throw a game that
- 10:20Speaker 14: is subpar for him by his standards. So if we
- 10:24Speaker 14: can see it more consistently, that is I mean, that's
- 10:27Speaker 14: obviously the goal. And you know what, he's still learning
- 10:29Speaker 14: to be a starter. It's hard to say that because
- 10:32Speaker 14: we're in April now, but like that's.
- 10:36Speaker 11: Jason Evans is better than a five y r and
- 10:38Speaker 11: that's where he's at right now.
- 10:42Speaker 12: It's not that dissimilar from Tennessee. But coming into the
- 10:45Speaker 12: year you had Teakan Koon's landing back Evan Blanca, who
- 10:49Speaker 12: have been their three starters, and they're good at times
- 10:51Speaker 12: they've been really good, but like last week, Evan Blanco
- 10:54Speaker 12: gave up nine runs in that Vanderbilt game. So like
- 10:56Speaker 12: they're their eras are a little a little different as well.
- 10:59Speaker 12: I think they're good pitchers. The reason Tennessee struggled so
- 11:02Speaker 12: much is they're not hitting six home runs a game
- 11:06Speaker 12: like they were with when when Tony Vittela was the
- 11:09Speaker 12: coach with Lander. It's a little bit of a different strategy,
- 11:11Speaker 12: but they got they got solid pitching. But I think
- 11:13Speaker 12: LSU can have success against the bats.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and it is like Case and Evans, and like
- 11:19Speaker 5: the case study Case and Evans.
- 11:22Speaker 11: It is wild because thirty six innings pitched and he's
- 11:26Speaker 11: got fifty three strikeouts, so he's missing bats. Players are
- 11:31Speaker 11: only hitting a butt ninety four against him. So normally
- 11:36Speaker 11: if I told you that, you'd be like, oh, that
- 11:38Speaker 11: ere's like two something, right maybe, So there's some analytics
- 11:43Speaker 11: to look at to say, now I know he's got
- 11:46Speaker 11: nineteen walks, and then obviously that's that's the thing. But
- 11:49Speaker 11: still like fifty three strikeouts to nineteen walks, Like the
- 11:51Speaker 11: ratio is not awful. But when I tell you fifty
- 11:54Speaker 11: three strikeouts and only thirty six innings and a buck
- 11:57Speaker 11: ninety four batting average against, like you would not think
- 11:59Speaker 11: that he's got a five RA. So there's things in
- 12:02Speaker 11: there that you still really love about Cason Evans.
- 12:05Speaker 5: We've seen it.
- 12:06Speaker 11: We've seen it in the league play already against a
- 12:08Speaker 11: team like Oklahoma, and he is the most important part.
- 12:12Speaker 14: I think it's just like in the ratio of strikeoutson
- 12:15Speaker 14: walks isn't bad, but I think it's the string and
- 12:16Speaker 14: the walks together. Yeah, Like I think, what was it
- 12:18Speaker 14: this past weekend he walked two and then hit one.
- 12:21Speaker 5: So it's like you put the like he strings them together.
- 12:24Speaker 14: He just goes in like these little these little lulls
- 12:27Speaker 14: for just a short period of time.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and it and it makes a big difference.
- 12:32Speaker 14: Like if he's spreading the he's walking a guy every
- 12:34Speaker 14: three innings or whatever, that's that's pitching, that's baseball. But
- 12:38Speaker 14: like he goes into these little stretches where it's just
- 12:40Speaker 14: too much. So yeah, fifty three strikeouts in nineteen walks, absolutely,
- 12:44Speaker 14: you take that. But when it's nineteen walks, but like
- 12:48Speaker 14: three of them are in one or two inny or
- 12:50Speaker 14: four of them, whatever it is.
- 12:52Speaker 5: And I know he's got.
- 12:53Speaker 14: A you know, a handful or so of of hit batters,
- 12:58Speaker 14: so it's the it's the free bag. And then you know,
- 13:00Speaker 14: of course you give one up one hit, you score
- 13:02Speaker 14: a bunch of runs.
- 13:03Speaker 5: So yep, gotta avoid that. Just gotta avoid those little lulls.
- 13:07Speaker 14: It's just like a quarterback going into slump and missing
- 13:10Speaker 14: a couple of reads or throwing a couple of picks
- 13:12Speaker 14: and or it's just that the it happens, and you
- 13:15Speaker 14: got to work your way out of it. And that's
- 13:16Speaker 14: what experience. I can compare it to the quarter acquisition.
- 13:20Speaker 14: The more experience you get, easier it is to get
- 13:23Speaker 14: out of that quicker, the easier it is to not
- 13:25Speaker 14: ever get into one of those things because you understand
- 13:27Speaker 14: the mistakes.
- 13:28Speaker 5: So he's learning.
- 13:30Speaker 14: But he's got the stuff, got the juice to be
- 13:32Speaker 14: as good as anybody in the country.
- 13:34Speaker 5: He absolutely does.
- 13:35Speaker 11: And it's gonna be a big night tomorrow night for
- 13:37Speaker 11: Case Evans and LSU on the road against Tennessee again,
- 13:40Speaker 11: a team that is struggling right now. You got to
- 13:43Speaker 11: go take full advantage of those struggles and we'll see
- 13:45Speaker 11: if they can get that done. We'll also see if
- 13:46Speaker 11: we can get Jay on the show here before we
- 13:49Speaker 11: get out of here today.
- 13:50Speaker 9: All right, we will step away.
- 13:51Speaker 11: We got more OTV coming your way when we jump
- 13:53Speaker 11: back here live from the Raisin Kine studio. Off the bench,

- 18:59Speaker 5: Was this? My pick? Just see the video kid Rock
- 19:02Speaker 5: at his house.
- 19:05Speaker 14: There was a military helicopter outside in his house and
- 19:09Speaker 14: he had a statue of liberty in high school. I
- 19:12Speaker 14: think that's I think. I mean, I was like, that's
- 19:14Speaker 14: a cool video, and then I think I read that

- 19:18Speaker 5: It, Like you guy's in trouble.
- 19:21Speaker 12: You're all about it as patriotic as you are. You probably,
- 19:24Speaker 12: like the guy alone, love America. Absolutely, you're in the
- 19:28Speaker 12: show with it every day. I mean, I feel like
- 19:29Speaker 12: it's a good training for that pilot. And I respect

- 19:39Speaker 12: to Liberty, love her and the.
- 19:45Speaker 14: You do, yeah, you know, love America and yeah, I know,
- 19:50Speaker 14: I do know all that, of course.
- 19:51Speaker 11: No, no, no, no, I can tell you the history lesson of it.
- 19:54Speaker 11: But the national team for France in the World Cup,
- 20:00Speaker 11: their jersey since the World Cups in the United States
- 20:02Speaker 11: are going to be Statue of Liberty like themed, like
- 20:05Speaker 11: the color of the Statue of Liberty. Oh, they're playing
- 20:08Speaker 11: in America. Okay, why because they gave it to the US. Yeah,
- 20:13Speaker 11: but it's not theirs. They try to take it back.
- 20:17Speaker 11: There's tariffs.
- 20:17Speaker 20: H what what happened? They didn't. They didn't get it back.
- 20:23Speaker 5: They didn't get it back. They tried to.
- 20:29Speaker 14: We wouldn't let them because this is America.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Good luck France, Yeah, good luck, come come and get it.
- 20:35Speaker 12: Look, not every now and then there may be something
- 20:38Speaker 12: that keeps me up at night. It'll never be France.
- 20:41Speaker 12: That'll never happen. That'll never happen.
- 20:45Speaker 20: France is like the Canada of Europe, No doubt they are.
- 20:49Speaker 14: They are so weak. It at least done pretty good
- 20:55Speaker 14: getting in that World Cup. Huh No, never heard of
- 20:59Speaker 14: these countries.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Who did they lose?
- 21:01Speaker 14: Tosh is qualification pretty much?
- 21:08Speaker 11: Is it wrapped up? It was, I think, but it
- 21:10Speaker 11: has some more words to it. It was Bosnia. They
- 21:15Speaker 11: lost in penalty kicks. There's been three World Cups.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Now for Italy. So there it's done. No more qualification.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, they're done, they're out. I'll let your boy.
- 21:24Speaker 12: Yeah, they've missed three straight World Cups. Yeah, I mean
- 21:28Speaker 12: from a country that dominated that sport for years.
- 21:31Speaker 20: That's it's saying. I didn't realize that.
- 21:32Speaker 5: What do they have.
- 21:35Speaker 14: Pasta I mean from from a cultural standpoint, incredible.
- 21:40Speaker 9: A baseball team that's Americans.
- 21:42Speaker 14: Aaron, Yeah, I mean culturally incredible.
- 21:50Speaker 5: It was awesome. No, never been from a sports standpoint.
- 21:55Speaker 5: What do they have? But they had baseball for a
- 21:59Speaker 5: couple of nights made up of Americans? Mm hmm. They
- 22:06Speaker 5: don't have soccer.
- 22:07Speaker 14: But Taylor, that's a really really good comment, Like there's
- 22:10Speaker 14: a lot of things that could keep you up at
- 22:11Speaker 14: night France ain't one of them.
- 22:14Speaker 5: France for the.
- 22:15Speaker 20: Only reason France is still around is because the US
- 22:17Speaker 20: bails them out.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Kidding, they're the old Miss of Europe? Is that what
- 22:21Speaker 5: you're saying?
- 22:23Speaker 12: Like, like, the old Miss is our Canada for all
- 22:26Speaker 12: of Shoot, they're the Yeah, they're the old Miss of Europe.
- 22:29Speaker 20: Like that, but they love Pe golden over there.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Oh no, it's more of a what did Trinidad Chamblis
- 22:37Speaker 5: say recently? Team guy? More of a team guy. They're
- 22:41Speaker 5: not there old catch.
- 22:45Speaker 14: A terrible interview, by the way, with the kid that
- 22:48Speaker 14: should hates the NFL.
- 22:51Speaker 9: Trinida to sue somebody for the eighth time.
- 22:54Speaker 14: Yeah, I was like, I'm just happy to like not
- 22:56Speaker 14: be in a courtroom right now. He hates to see
- 22:59Speaker 14: an NFL play are coming.
- 23:03Speaker 5: I hope the Raiders just signed a veteran quarterback. I
- 23:06Speaker 5: just saw that.
- 23:07Speaker 20: Got breaking news, breaking news.
- 23:10Speaker 9: He's not listening to us because we talked about it
- 23:12Speaker 9: my friends.
- 23:13Speaker 5: Yeah, but we talked about it right before he came on. No, No,
- 23:16Speaker 5: the Great Cousins, Oh, Kirky.
- 23:23Speaker 11: And Braction is like, wait, guys supposed to talk sports
- 23:26Speaker 11: on this show. Wait a minute, Braxton, find me another
- 23:29Speaker 11: show that can start the conversation with kid Rock and
- 23:31Speaker 11: find its way to France and Italian soccer.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Yeah, not many won't find it. Takes talent. Not gonna happen,
- 23:38Speaker 5: not on the airways.
- 23:39Speaker 11: Bud takes absolute talent, braction. Just try to reset us with.
- 23:45Speaker 14: I'll dare you come up with breaking NFL news that
- 23:47Speaker 14: is kind of a big deal.
- 23:50Speaker 9: Just on the principle of it. We're not gonna talk
- 23:52Speaker 9: about it.
- 23:57Speaker 5: We have standards here.
- 23:59Speaker 11: Well, what do you doing their, Bud, mm hmm, it's
- 24:03Speaker 11: still gonna draft Fernando Mendoza. So yeah, kirk Cousins signing
- 24:09Speaker 11: with the Kirk Cousins did sign with the Raiders, which
- 24:14Speaker 11: does bring up some There was a lot of talk
- 24:17Speaker 11: about if Aaron Rodgers doesn't sign to the Steelers, kirk
- 24:22Speaker 11: Cousins would be a good.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Option for them. Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 14: So, I don't know if there's a conversation I'd like
- 24:26Speaker 14: to see. I don't know who kirk cousins agent is.
- 24:29Speaker 14: They might be similar, they might be shared agent.
- 24:33Speaker 9: I think Mike McCarthy's actually the cast name really his agent.
- 24:37Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure it is sure.
- 24:40Speaker 20: Mike McCarthy.
- 24:42Speaker 5: I know it's a head coach, blah blah blah.
- 24:44Speaker 20: But it seems like a conflict of interest.
- 24:49Speaker 5: That's good.
- 24:50Speaker 14: I'm gonna look because I'm pretty sure, but that that
- 24:56Speaker 14: that was kind of like the partner Mike McCartney. Okay, yeah,
- 24:59Speaker 14: that that was what was said to be, at least
- 25:02Speaker 14: in the media wise, the fallback plan for the Steelers
- 25:05Speaker 14: would have been Kirk Cousins.
- 25:07Speaker 5: I find this to be an interesting move by Kirk.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Uh I would have liked to see him.
- 25:16Speaker 14: I think he was in a good position to wait
- 25:17Speaker 14: it out and see which team ended up being in
- 25:20Speaker 14: need of a starter. Yeah, via injury, via the draft,
- 25:25Speaker 14: via whatever whatever happening. Obviously, the Raiders are going to
- 25:29Speaker 14: want to play Mendoza if they take him, unless they
- 25:32Speaker 14: have this, you know, with I guess Tom Brady, you know,
- 25:36Speaker 14: having some sort of some sort of pool over there saying, look,
- 25:40Speaker 14: you draft to guy number one, maybe we bring in
- 25:44Speaker 14: a veteran to let that number one pick not play immediately,
- 25:47Speaker 14: which would be a move that nobody wants to do,
- 25:50Speaker 14: and nobody does it, but it would actually be the
- 25:52Speaker 14: best move for him right to go there and not
- 25:56Speaker 14: play for a little while because he might not be ready.
- 26:00Speaker 14: I mean, it worked out like even if it's not
- 26:02Speaker 14: a full year. Saw it with Tyler Shuck with the Saints.
- 26:05Speaker 14: He came in midway through the season and it was
- 26:07Speaker 14: a good thing. What if he starts the first game
- 26:09Speaker 14: of the season, it might not have ended up as
- 26:11Speaker 14: good as it did, might have ended up better.
- 26:13Speaker 5: We don't.
- 26:13Speaker 14: We'll never really know that question. But that is the
- 26:17Speaker 14: reason why number one draft picks usually do not pan
- 26:20Speaker 14: out to the way that they're supposed to. Now, there's
- 26:24Speaker 14: a lot of number one draft pis ended up being
- 26:25Speaker 14: good quarterbacks, but to have actual great ones drafted, and
- 26:30Speaker 14: that's why you draft somebody number one overall, because you
- 26:33Speaker 14: think they have the potential to be great. That hit
- 26:35Speaker 14: percentages is very low because they're usually going to bad teams.
- 26:39Speaker 5: They usually get thrown in early.
- 26:40Speaker 14: They usually you can ruin a quarterback's career early on,
- 26:45Speaker 14: ruin his confidence, ruin everything. They can start seeing ghosts
- 26:51Speaker 14: all as Sam Darnold, he stopped seeing them, but not
- 26:54Speaker 14: a lot of quarterbacks get that opportunity to stop seeing
- 26:57Speaker 14: them once they start seeing them. So think it'd be
- 27:00Speaker 14: a great situation, I mean more than now we're talking
- 27:02Speaker 14: it through. I kind of like it especially if the
- 27:05Speaker 14: Raiders plan would be to let's play Kirk Cousins at
- 27:08Speaker 14: least the first half of the season and then see
- 27:10Speaker 14: what happens.
- 27:13Speaker 5: I don't hate it, or they're going to trade him,
- 27:15Speaker 5: like I said, oh god, stop it.
- 27:20Speaker 14: If the Jets offered him four first rounders for the
- 27:22Speaker 14: first pick, they have seven to give.
- 27:27Speaker 5: On draft day.
- 27:28Speaker 9: The Jets have four picks in the top what forty
- 27:31Speaker 9: four this year?
- 27:32Speaker 14: Yeah, so on draft day they'll get They'll be able
- 27:36Speaker 14: to trade a four years in advance, so they'll have
- 27:39Speaker 14: seven first rounders to trade on draft day.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Yeah. Hey, how much do.
- 27:47Speaker 9: You like Fernando Mendoza and what are you willing to
- 27:50Speaker 9: give up?
- 27:51Speaker 5: Apparently Eric Glenn loves Gino Smith.
- 27:53Speaker 14: He thinks he's going to bring him to them the
- 27:55Speaker 14: Promised Land, Yeah, which is what exactly.
- 27:58Speaker 11: Yeah, he said that league meetings, and that kind of
- 28:01Speaker 11: made its way to our table. I said, is the
- 28:03Speaker 11: Promised Land Heaven? Yeah, because you're done? What what's the
- 28:08Speaker 11: promised land?
- 28:09Speaker 5: Here? Two and four in the division. Shout out to
- 28:16Speaker 5: Kirk Duggins, though I was Aaron Glenn start to him.
- 28:20Speaker 11: Uh no, we did not. We That's one of the
- 28:23Speaker 11: few coaches. We did not talk.
- 28:24Speaker 5: With Wow, not a good look. Yeah. Sean Payton, there's

- 35:38Speaker 14: state the question? Yeah, question, And it's gonna be hard
- 35:41Speaker 14: to beat the Lambeau scenes from last year, which was
- 35:44Speaker 14: really cool.
- 35:45Speaker 5: This is not like the.
- 35:48Speaker 11: At Green Bay because it was awesome. There's nowhere else
- 35:52Speaker 11: in Green Bay you could have held it. Well, no,
- 35:55Speaker 11: of course not. But like, why would even if you
- 35:58Speaker 11: even if it wanted to. It's in Pittsburg, why would
- 36:01Speaker 11: you hold it somewhere?
- 36:02Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Have you ever did you
- 36:05Speaker 5: ever play in Pittsburgh? Yeah? Once my rookie year. I think,
- 36:10Speaker 5: oh wow, so yeah, long time ago. Do you remember that.
- 36:13Speaker 9: I don't know if you remember it, but we played
- 36:15Speaker 9: there a ton and lost.
- 36:16Speaker 5: Every time.
- 36:17Speaker 11: You're like in this tunnel, right, you're on the bus,
- 36:20Speaker 11: You're in this tunnel, and then all of a sudden
- 36:22Speaker 11: when it opens up, it's like boom.
- 36:24Speaker 9: You've got P and C Park where the Pirates play.
- 36:26Speaker 5: You got Hindes.
- 36:27Speaker 11: That's what I'm always gonna call it where the Steelers play.
- 36:29Speaker 11: You got this cool yellow bridge that they have. It's
- 36:32Speaker 11: just like a very cool scene when you get out
- 36:33Speaker 11: of this like random tunnel.
- 36:35Speaker 5: So it's a good spot.
- 36:38Speaker 11: Shut the bridge down, let us have it right there
- 36:40Speaker 11: on the bridge.
- 36:42Speaker 14: That's good work by them getting back up and running
- 36:44Speaker 14: after it got destroyed in the Batman movie.
- 36:46Speaker 9: It's very fair. The entire field to the ground into.
- 36:50Speaker 11: The ground is working over time.
- 36:55Speaker 5: That's tier. That's it.
- 36:57Speaker 11: I really I should know this, but have no do.
- 37:01Speaker 11: They're gonna tell me and I'll be there.
- 37:03Speaker 14: Yeah, so the scenes last year from LAMB but we're awesome,
- 37:06Speaker 14: like and I get it. It was probably a big pain
- 37:08Speaker 14: of the ass to like for people, that's that many
- 37:11Speaker 14: people to find hotel rooms to There's a lot of
- 37:14Speaker 14: it like Airbnb, a lot of airbnbs, I'm sure, but
- 37:18Speaker 14: still there's only so many to go around, so many hotels.
- 37:20Speaker 11: A lot of people staying in Ampleton. Maybe I think
- 37:24Speaker 11: I flew into Appleton. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's easy.
- 37:26Speaker 11: It's twenty five thirty minutes.
- 37:28Speaker 14: Yeah, probably a lot of people staying in Milwaukee an
- 37:30Speaker 14: hour and a half, forty five yeah, so yeah, but
- 37:33Speaker 14: but the scenes were awesome, like the drone footage from
- 37:36Speaker 14: overhead all those people around there. So it's gonna be
- 37:39Speaker 14: hard to beat those scenes. But I love that they're
- 37:42Speaker 14: doing it at different cities now.
- 37:44Speaker 5: I think it's really cool get the people what they want.
- 37:49Speaker 11: Yeah, I and not that New York didn't you know
- 37:51Speaker 11: New York did whatever they did for a long time,
- 37:53Speaker 11: which you know, big city. I'm sure it's cool for
- 37:56Speaker 11: the guys that but to see how the fans have
- 37:59Speaker 11: shown up, that's been the really cool part.
- 38:02Speaker 5: So this will be my.
- 38:04Speaker 11: I think my fourth draft, Kansas City, Detroit, Green Bay
- 38:09Speaker 11: now Pittsburgh, but like Detroit and Green Bay, like they
- 38:14Speaker 11: were very excited to have the draft there and like
- 38:17Speaker 11: hundreds of thousands of fans throughout the three day of
- 38:20Speaker 11: process just packing in wherever it was.
- 38:23Speaker 14: Okay, do you like the new the say new, But
- 38:25Speaker 14: do you like the current format of the draft where
- 38:27Speaker 14: it's one round at night like primetime or the old school?
- 38:33Speaker 11: I like it because I like an event and I
- 38:35Speaker 11: like for it to be And look, if you're a
- 38:36Speaker 11: first rounder, I do think you deserve primetime. That's hard,
- 38:40Speaker 11: it's real hard to be our first rounder. So I
- 38:42Speaker 11: like that they get their own now I would mm,
- 38:50Speaker 11: I think I would maybe have second, second, third, and
- 38:55Speaker 11: fourth round on Friday and then fist six and seventh
- 38:59Speaker 11: on the second, then third on Friday, second and third
- 39:01Speaker 11: on Friday, because that that last day gets kind of long. Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 11: maybe it's just me, but like sitting there and you're
- 39:10Speaker 11: covering it, and it's like you go to commercial and
- 39:12Speaker 11: there's like three people picked and you gotta come back.
- 39:14Speaker 11: You gotta talk about the three people that are from
- 39:17Speaker 11: Weaver State. Sometimes I can get a little bit long.
- 39:21Speaker 11: So maybe, like but that's that's a minor, like small change.
- 39:24Speaker 11: But I do like first rounders primetime Thursday and then
- 39:27Speaker 11: your second third round they kind of get their own
- 39:29Speaker 11: little primetime stage too.
- 39:31Speaker 5: To some degree.
- 39:32Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm sure like that last day, it's like, all right,
- 39:34Speaker 14: that guy was drafted, checks notes, Okay, he's.
- 39:36Speaker 11: Not on there now what hey j GPT. Who's this fella?
- 39:42Speaker 11: How do you say this guy's name? It looks like
- 39:44Speaker 11: the alphabet soup.
- 39:45Speaker 14: Yeah, kind of like in the sixth round when the
- 39:47Speaker 14: Jacksonville Jaguars take a long snapper instead of me when
- 39:50Speaker 14: they said they were gonna draft.
- 39:51Speaker 12: Me, Oh yeah, I'm just glad you're over it.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I am.
- 39:58Speaker 14: Oh grut, guys, you gotta have a on your shoulder
- 40:00Speaker 14: always if you live a chipless life.
- 40:07Speaker 5: What are we doing? Got nothing to strive for? How long?
- 40:14Speaker 20: God they didn't how long long snapper in the league.
- 40:18Speaker 14: Uh, he could have been in the league long because
- 40:21Speaker 14: a long snapper that was an undrafted free agent in
- 40:26Speaker 14: Green Bay my rookie year still snapping for the Jaguars.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Jaguy JJ Janssen.
- 40:36Speaker 11: You know JJ does some work with us on NFL radio.
- 40:39Speaker 11: Does him an alec Ingold actually hosts a show during
- 40:42Speaker 11: the season?
- 40:43Speaker 5: Interesting?
- 40:44Speaker 14: Yeah, well, specialists, they got a lot of time throughout
- 40:47Speaker 14: the week.
- 40:49Speaker 11: Ingle's special because he's a pullback, so special. In my heart,
- 40:53Speaker 11: I definitely knew that guys name. Okay, Wisconsin totally lived
- 41:00Speaker 11: there six years. He played for them Badgers, right, really good.
- 41:08Speaker 14: Yeah, it's actually were probably probably pretty good when they
- 41:11Speaker 14: were good for most of the year. They were probably
- 41:14Speaker 14: top five at some point and then ended out outside
- 41:16Speaker 14: the top twenty five.
- 41:17Speaker 11: Yeah, it's when they actually like ran the football like
- 41:20Speaker 11: Wisconsin's supposed to and not try to.
- 41:22Speaker 5: Go dairy raid with an air raid offense always kind
- 41:24Speaker 5: of said it.
- 41:26Speaker 14: The Chargers were the Wisconsin Badgers of the NFL, Like,
- 41:31Speaker 14: really good, this is this team's it's a hard out
- 41:34Speaker 14: right here. Yeah, you're gonna beat them. It's gonna be tough. Yeah,
- 41:37Speaker 14: top five? Whoa are they number three this week?
- 41:39Speaker 5: Wow? And they rattle off three losses in a row
- 41:43Speaker 5: to the.
- 41:44Speaker 9: Raiders, the Jets, and the Jags.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Absolutely, Oh look hurts because it's true. Yeah, I know,
- 41:54Speaker 5: it's the way it was. I love Wisconsin, just can't
- 42:00Speaker 5: relevant draft.
- 42:02Speaker 20: Next year, it's somewhere. It's somewhere south, I believe next year.
- 42:07Speaker 20: Let me see, it's.
- 42:07Speaker 5: Got to come to New Orleans at some point. At
- 42:09Speaker 5: some point, everything needs to come now. I will say.
- 42:14Speaker 11: The NFL office did tell us that a lot of
- 42:17Speaker 11: the draft sites are going to be places that aren't
- 42:20Speaker 11: ever going to get super Bowls. So like that's how
- 42:23Speaker 11: they're trying to spread it out. Because it's in DC
- 42:26Speaker 11: next year.
- 42:27Speaker 5: In d C.
- 42:28Speaker 11: I thought it was somewhere down here, like they're never
- 42:30Speaker 11: getting super Bowl so like that. See, Kansas City's never
- 42:33Speaker 11: get one, Detroit's had one. But it's not like people
- 42:36Speaker 11: weren't a big fan of that.
- 42:37Speaker 5: It doesn't get much more American than DC, though it's
- 42:40Speaker 5: very fair.
- 42:40Speaker 11: We did Army Navy there and it was pretty cool. Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 11: we did the show from the Arlington Cemetery. It was
- 42:47Speaker 11: pretty sweet, pretty cool deal.
- 42:49Speaker 5: There is m how many places at a give some
- 42:54Speaker 5: goose bumps like that place. Should we get the show
- 42:58Speaker 5: there next year? Yeah?
- 43:00Speaker 11: Not in the budget, at least I've been told it.
- 43:04Speaker 11: It's in the budget. Wait, what's adding another show for me?
- 43:07Speaker 11: I'll be there it will you be there?
- 43:11Speaker 14: But yeah, do the draft? Every year before I moved
- 43:14Speaker 14: to NFL, did draft What you just come out? I
- 43:16Speaker 14: thought you're talking about Army Navy?
- 43:19Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that one. I don't get to do that
- 43:20Speaker 5: one anymore. Not on college. We can do that, though
- 43:24Speaker 5: we can't do Army Navy. What good?
- 43:28Speaker 14: I just got to get you to commit. Yeah sure,
- 43:31Speaker 14: well that's like almost a year out, bude.
- 43:33Speaker 5: I know.
- 43:34Speaker 11: But see you have committed more like a couple of
- 43:36Speaker 11: weeks outside of your wife and children.
- 43:38Speaker 5: You have commitment issues. Yeah, absolutely. I When you ask.
- 43:45Speaker 11: This man something, I could tell you by his face
- 43:48Speaker 11: if he's coming or not.
- 43:50Speaker 9: He didn't have to say a word. I know it,
- 43:53Speaker 9: and he's got commitment issues.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Uh huh.
- 43:55Speaker 14: Look, I'm telling you I have a hard time planning
- 43:57Speaker 14: it more than a month out. So I don't know
- 44:01Speaker 14: how many feeling that week. I don't know what else
- 44:04Speaker 14: is happening. I'm not in charge of my family's social
- 44:07Speaker 14: calendar either.
- 44:08Speaker 5: Can I tell the story of yesterday in the in
- 44:11Speaker 5: the ESPN meeting? Yesterday?
- 44:14Speaker 11: All right, So we got some remotes coming up, and
- 44:19Speaker 11: Matt was going on that. Flynn was up there was
- 44:22Speaker 11: talking about, Hey, here's what we got coming up, blah
- 44:23Speaker 11: blah blah, here's the date that it is. And he
- 44:26Speaker 11: gives the date and Flynn gets his phone out. I
- 44:28Speaker 11: see him go to Google Calendars whatever. He goes to
- 44:31Speaker 11: the date and he looks at it and I was like, hey,
- 44:37Speaker 11: you know, what do you what do you got Like
- 44:38Speaker 11: you got something there? He goes, Oh, don't put anything
- 44:40Speaker 11: in my calendar.
- 44:40Speaker 5: I don't know why. I just pulled it out and
- 44:42Speaker 5: went to the date. I don't put anything in there.
- 44:46Speaker 11: You pulled your phone out, went to Google Calendar, went
- 44:48Speaker 11: to the date and just looked.
- 44:49Speaker 5: At your phone.
- 44:49Speaker 14: And I was like, yeah, I don't ever fill this out. Well,
- 44:53Speaker 14: sometimes you get it. Sometimes you get emails and your
- 44:58Speaker 14: calendar auto populate. Okay, but yeah, I was like, I
- 45:02Speaker 14: don't know why I brought this out. I never put
- 45:03Speaker 14: anything in my calendar.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I was very proud of it.
- 45:05Speaker 11: I look at this, maybe this guy business lighting up,
- 45:08Speaker 11: pulling out the calendar, going straight to this.
- 45:10Speaker 14: Just a month of nothing on the calendar. It's white squares.
- 45:17Speaker 9: Oh when all right?
- 45:20Speaker 5: So for the people, so we can all remind you
- 45:23Speaker 5: remind ourselves.
- 45:25Speaker 9: When are you going to Talladega? We need you to
- 45:28Speaker 9: give us a dan.
- 45:29Speaker 26: No.
- 45:29Speaker 11: I know you keep saying that we need you to
- 45:31Speaker 11: give us the dates that you're not going to be here.
- 45:37Speaker 20: We're in April.
- 45:40Speaker 11: They taking you look up looking enough when televigas man
- 45:44Speaker 11: is leaving town.
- 45:46Speaker 5: It's the twentieth twenty something.
- 45:48Speaker 20: April twenty six is the Talladega? Well, the Jacklinks five
- 45:53Speaker 20: hundred at Talladega. I'm assuming.
- 45:57Speaker 12: April twenty six because the next event there is not
- 46:00Speaker 12: till October.
- 46:02Speaker 14: I think we're driving there. We're gonna go up and
- 46:05Speaker 14: stay at Lake Martin for a couple of nights, so
- 46:08Speaker 14: then we're leaving on Friday.
- 46:11Speaker 12: Looks like twenty fourth to the twenty six like that, Yeah,
- 46:15Speaker 12: that weekend.
- 46:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm coming. I'm missing the Monday afterwards. Obviously, I
- 46:20Speaker 5: wouldn't expect you to be here. Yeah, so I miss
- 46:23Speaker 5: Friday Monday.
- 46:24Speaker 9: I mean yeah, some of us are a little bit
- 46:25Speaker 9: grittier than others.
- 46:28Speaker 5: I mean, I could do it. You want me to.
- 46:34Speaker 5: What's that smell? Sleep on this desk smells like alcohol?
- 46:41Speaker 5: Who is that? That's us? S? Matt sweating? It's me
- 46:46Speaker 5: trying to survive, sweating d scis through his pores. Are
- 46:53Speaker 5: we drinking those things? They double?
- 46:56Speaker 11: I've never been Okay, so you've never seen devs I
- 47:00Speaker 11: have I have Okay, yeah, you've seen his video from
- 47:03Speaker 11: the infield, That's what it is. I don't know if
- 47:06Speaker 11: in the infield or I don't know where we're going
- 47:07Speaker 11: to be. The group you're going with, you're gonna have
- 47:10Speaker 11: some access.
- 47:11Speaker 5: I don't know this.
- 47:12Speaker 14: This this group loves a party, but they also like
- 47:15Speaker 14: to party with a silver spoon.
- 47:16Speaker 5: In their hand. Oh little bougie party, a little boogie party.
- 47:19Speaker 11: Okay, uh huh, All right, well, I mean still though,
- 47:24Speaker 11: I mean, you might not be where dev was, but
- 47:29Speaker 11: you know.
- 47:30Speaker 14: I'm excited that I've never been to a NASCAR event,
- 47:34Speaker 14: So I'm fired up.
- 47:35Speaker 5: For just the sounds and well, I see Michael, Michael Jordan,
- 47:39Speaker 5: I don't know, they'll be sweet.
- 47:42Speaker 20: He'll be there, He'll be there, like he'll be interact
- 47:45Speaker 20: with him. I don't know. I know he'll be there, so.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Right into him in the bathroom or something and awkwardly
- 47:50Speaker 5: say Hi. What would you say to Michael?
- 47:58Speaker 14: Probably nothing of substance. Hey, big fan, Great to meet
- 48:03Speaker 14: you quick selfie.
- 48:08Speaker 5: Would you no?
- 48:09Speaker 14: No, I mean I wouldn't even blame you for I
- 48:11Speaker 14: mean for Michael Jordan, Like that's that's worth embarrassing yourself for.
- 48:20Speaker 11: I don't know, I'd have no. I mean, I wouldn't
- 48:22Speaker 11: judge you. I judge you for a lot of selfies.
- 48:24Speaker 11: I wouldn't for air Mike Good. Who is there somebody
- 48:30Speaker 11: you don't you can think about it. There's somebody you
- 48:32Speaker 11: would be starstruck in front of a lot of sports worldlife.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Sports. Yeah, in the sports world.
- 48:40Speaker 11: Yeah, because like you see movie stars, it's so weird
- 48:42Speaker 11: to see them because you just you've seen them in
- 48:44Speaker 11: so many different roles and so many different things, and
- 48:46Speaker 11: it's like seeing that person in person is a little different.
- 48:51Speaker 11: In the sports world. That's a great question. I don't
- 48:54Speaker 11: think that there is. I just don't think that. I'm thinking, like,
- 48:58Speaker 11: I don't Basketball doesn't do anything for me. Baseball, I've
- 49:02Speaker 11: met a lot of the guys that I respect football.
- 49:06Speaker 14: No, Yeah, yours is a little different, just because you
- 49:09Speaker 14: talk to a lot of people, Yeah, through through your
- 49:12Speaker 14: serious show.
- 49:13Speaker 11: Yeah, like I'm not even like a okay, like I'm
- 49:15Speaker 11: not even like a fan a huge fan of this person.
- 49:17Speaker 11: But like maybe MESSI just like international global star. Maybe
- 49:23Speaker 11: somebody like that, like a in a sport that you know,
- 49:25Speaker 11: we don't talk a lot about.
- 49:26Speaker 14: Yeah, I don't know. Somebody seems untouchable. Yeah, right right,
- 49:33Speaker 14: Mike Tyson maybe in the Hangover performance alone, maybe he's.
- 49:38Speaker 5: Kind of humanized Mike.
- 49:39Speaker 20: Mike would be a good one.
- 49:40Speaker 5: Yeah, could be a good one. I don't think so.
- 49:44Speaker 9: That's not being Tommy tough guy.
- 49:45Speaker 5: I just don't think so.
- 49:46Speaker 14: I mean most of the stuff that we think of,
- 49:48Speaker 14: Like if you would get starstruck over somebody, it's something
- 49:50Speaker 14: that has nostalgia for you, Yeah, somebody watch growing up.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Probably that would be more likely.
- 49:56Speaker 14: Like if I met anybody from the nineties Rangers, whoa yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 5: Big deal one pudge do you know what? Let me
- 50:04Speaker 5: meet one Gonzales. Let meet on one time.
- 50:08Speaker 14: You can be a hey, hey, Pudge, did you know
- 50:10Speaker 14: that when you played for the Tigers in the World
- 50:12Speaker 14: Series you swung a bat that was the m F fifteen.
- 50:16Speaker 5: That's right, that's what he did. That's a good question.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Let me think about that. Let me think about that.
- 50:21Speaker 9: All right, we'll go to break more OTV when we
- 50:23Speaker 9: come back here live from.
- 50:24Speaker 5: The Raisin King studio.
- 50:27Speaker 7: Off the bench, all right.
