- 0:48Speaker 1: We got a special guest in here. My guy, 6AM
- 0:50Speaker 1: is back.
- 0:51Speaker 2: What's the deal?
- 0:52Speaker 1: See you previewing a lot of new music. Is this
- 0:54Speaker 1: your first album that's coming out? Your first 6 a.m.
- 0:57Speaker 1: solo project?
- 0:58Speaker 2: You know, I was, I was like halfway through a
- 1:02Speaker 2: project before. Yeah. And then I just, I, um, I
- 1:07Speaker 2: figured out what syncing was.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So like getting like shows, like show music or movies
- 1:13Speaker 1: and all that.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So like commercial music. At the time I was going
- 1:16Speaker 2: to put out the first album, like I got hit
- 1:18Speaker 2: up by, uh, a company for syncing, right? Yeah. So
- 1:24Speaker 2: they offer me enough to make me question releasing the
- 1:28Speaker 2: first album and to give the songs to them instead.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:33Speaker 1: So, like, if a syncing company hits you up, you
- 1:36Speaker 1: essentially are selling them your music?
- 1:38Speaker 2: No. Well, that's what they try to do.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But you get publishing still?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yes. Okay. Okay, so, like, we split 50-50 everything on the...
- 1:49Speaker 2: sync side so whatever like sync brings in.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Right like if your song gets on an HBO show
- 1:54Speaker 1: or something it's right down the middle.
- 1:56Speaker 2: But I still own the masters and everything else is
- 2:01Speaker 2: 85 15 my way.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Do they is it like the trade off like they
- 2:06Speaker 1: get the choice on when the music comes.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Out yes it is so that kind of put my
- 2:11Speaker 2: first album on hold a little bit because you know
- 2:13Speaker 2: they're trying to get like licensing deals for songs and
- 2:17Speaker 2: all that but It actually ended up being a blessing
- 2:20Speaker 2: because at the end of the day, I kind of
- 2:23Speaker 2: got more comfortable with who I am as an artist
- 2:27Speaker 2: now compared to how I was back then. So I
- 2:30Speaker 2: feel like I'm by far doing the best music I've
- 2:33Speaker 2: ever done.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Do you ever listen to your On Some Bullshit era
- 2:38Speaker 1: of music and be like... Oh, that's crazy. Because you're
- 2:41Speaker 1: in a group.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, not a lot of people remember that.
- 2:46Speaker 1: OSBS.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, OSBS with Feezy.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Do you ever listen to that music and be like, man,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I've come a long way?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Um, I don't listen to it a lot.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It's totally different.
- 2:54Speaker 2: No, like, I don't really listen to it a lot.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Feezy doesn't listen to it either, but there'll be other people.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Shout out to him. He just, like, didn't he just
- 3:01Speaker 1: crack the LAPD for, like, a lawsuit?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Like, 10 million.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like, Jesus. Good for him.
- 3:06Speaker 2: He's, like, up in the hills in fucking Japan somewhere. Dude, fucking.
- 3:09Speaker 1: As he should be. Meditating. Shit, I'll let the cops
- 3:12Speaker 1: fuck me up. You know what I mean?
- 3:14Speaker 2: I'm like, bro.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That beat the fuck out of me, dog.
- 3:17Speaker 2: He's like, fuck rap.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Put me on life support.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I'm like, I guess I'll go solo now.
- 3:20Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 3:22Speaker 2: But it's like, bro, it's like, so like, at the
- 3:28Speaker 2: end of the day, I'm happy that the album did
- 3:31Speaker 2: not come out because I'm more comfortable with who I
- 3:33Speaker 2: am as an artist now.
- 3:35Speaker 1: You feel like this music best represents kind of like
- 3:38Speaker 1: where you want to.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Be as an artist. 100%.
- 3:40Speaker 1: 100%.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's not just that, but I feel like the quality
- 3:43Speaker 2: of the music is way better. These aren't just like
- 3:45Speaker 2: microwave songs. We're not just like putting in a prompt.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It has never been like that, but what I'm saying
- 3:50Speaker 2: is we're not just fucking putting in a prompt like
- 3:53Speaker 2: these songs each take like weeks to do like we're
- 3:56Speaker 2: fucking engineering every sound like right bro quad and my
- 4:01Speaker 2: uh uh engineer uh herbal will literally have me redo
- 4:06Speaker 2: a verse or a hook fucking 200 times like just
- 4:10Speaker 2: nope that's not it nope that's not it like bro
- 4:12Speaker 2: because that's what it takes.
- 4:13Speaker 1: To really do so are you releasing this independently yeah
- 4:16Speaker 1: yep 100 um Because obviously you're Taylor gang affiliated.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but I chose to just release this project independently
- 4:29Speaker 2: on the advice from Waze and everybody else was kind
- 4:33Speaker 2: of like, bro, you have everything that you need yourself
- 4:37Speaker 2: just to put it out now. You know what I mean?
- 4:39Speaker 2: Because I don't know, bro. The card game's been really
- 4:43Speaker 2: good to me, bro. Every fucking dollar I've made from music, You.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Put it in the cards?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Every single dollar.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so for people who don't know, you have a
- 4:54Speaker 1: serious sports card collection.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well, bro, I started when I was six, maybe, or
- 5:02Speaker 2: like seven, like that.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Is it safe to say you got... Because I feel
- 5:06Speaker 1: like I started seeing you post more when Herbert was
- 5:09Speaker 1: coming up.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Was Herbert the guy that pulled you back in?
- 5:13Speaker 2: It was really Lamar Jackson, bro.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:15Speaker 2: When I was in... I was in prison like 2016 when, when, uh,
- 5:22Speaker 2: when Lamar was in, uh, in college. Yeah. And I
- 5:26Speaker 2: was like, bro, I've never seen anything like this before. Like,
- 5:29Speaker 2: how can I invest in him? You know what I mean?
- 5:31Speaker 2: So then I kind of started to ask about it
- 5:33Speaker 2: and like, get like, I was like, if Lamar is
- 5:36Speaker 2: a stock, I want to buy stock in Lamar. Right.
- 5:39Speaker 2: You know what I mean? So, so when I came home,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I signed a big, you signed the empire. Yeah. but
- 5:48Speaker 2: I was just like doing the rapper shit. You know
- 5:49Speaker 2: what I mean? Like I didn't really know like what
- 5:51Speaker 2: to do, but I knew I wanted to do, do
- 5:55Speaker 2: something involving like cards and like investing in sports. You
- 5:59Speaker 2: know what I mean? And then, uh, Kobe died. Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And I was like, man, I feel like I have
- 6:05Speaker 2: a whole, uh, a bunch of like, uh, Kobe rookie.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So I went to look through all my stuff and
- 6:11Speaker 2: I found like 15 of them. Wow. Like in like
- 6:15Speaker 2: perfect condition, got them graded. And then I like, sold
- 6:18Speaker 2: a whole bunch to, like, get, like, the initial startup capital, right? Right.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Then after that, I'm like, damn, like, now what can
- 6:26Speaker 2: I take this money and put it into? And I
- 6:29Speaker 2: made a couple horrible decisions. I bought, like, Lonzo Ball.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And he shot, like, 38% from the free throw line his, like,
- 6:40Speaker 2: rookie year, and my shit just crashed out. And then
- 6:42Speaker 2: I made a couple other bad decisions. I don't remember
- 6:45Speaker 2: who it was. But I remember I was just buying, like,
- 6:47Speaker 2: dumb shit at the time. You know what I mean?
- 6:49Speaker 1: Just, like, putting money behind the wrong guys.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Putting money, just trying to, like.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Figure it out.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Figure it out. And then, like.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Lonzo Ball's a bad... I mean, he's kind of retired now.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, bro. Like, it was a horrible investment.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I mean, you know, obviously injuries fucked his shit up.
- 7:02Speaker 2: No, exactly, but.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It is what it is. That's why some people say
- 7:04Speaker 1: Pokemon don't get injured.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Exactly. There it is right there. Like, I'm
- 7:08Speaker 2: not really into Pokemon like that because with, like, a
- 7:11Speaker 2: modern Pokemon, there's, like, a cap. You can't pull, like, a.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know anything about that shit.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well, it's... Well, you can't pull like a one-on-one million
- 7:19Speaker 2: dollar card in that.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Right. You got to buy the vintage boxes.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Like there's a cap to modern stuff, like five,
- 7:28Speaker 2: 10K maybe. Like I'm not in it for that. You
- 7:30Speaker 2: know what I mean? So when I was trying to
- 7:35Speaker 2: look for things to put my capital into, I obviously
- 7:40Speaker 2: made some horrible decisions at first. I had a choice
- 7:42Speaker 2: between Mahomes and Alonzo Ball, and I chose Alonzo Ball.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You know what I mean? So not everybody is, damn.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Anyone who says, oh, I've always been right in cards,
- 7:51Speaker 2: they're a liar. It's not true. You know what I mean?
- 7:55Speaker 2: So after that, I think around 2019 when I was,
- 8:01Speaker 2: or no, it was 2022, I was trying to drop
- 8:04Speaker 2: my first album, which I had named Zombieland at the time.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that, yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Then I got hit up by a company that's run
- 8:13Speaker 2: by Hans Zimmer and his team.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:17Speaker 2: And they wanted to buy.
- 8:18Speaker 1: The sync guys?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they wanted to basically buy the rights to negotiate
- 8:27Speaker 2: for some of the songs. So they gave me, like,
- 8:32Speaker 2: I want to say, like, 40K, and I gave, like,
- 8:35Speaker 2: 10 to... to Feezy and then 10 to my manager.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And I was like, bro, I'm going to take this
- 8:44Speaker 2: 20 and just buy, buy Shohei cards. And I just
- 8:47Speaker 2: bought hella Shohei cards in 2022. Yeah. 2022.
- 8:51Speaker 1: That's a good time.
- 8:52Speaker 2: They were cheap, bro. And, but I knew I was like,
- 8:54Speaker 2: I've never seen anyone.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Pitch and hit. Was this, this before he was on
- 8:57Speaker 1: the Dodgers, right?
- 8:58Speaker 2: Way before he was on the Dodgers. So that's when
- 9:00Speaker 2: I started with him. Like that was my guy. You
- 9:01Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 9:02Speaker 1: You already know, baby, our family at Odd Socks. They
- 9:05Speaker 1: have been rocking with the Bootleg Head podcast since day one.

- 9:24Speaker 1: only socks in my house. And Obviously, there's competing brands
- 9:29Speaker 1: that you might be used to wearing the white tube socks. Listen,
- 9:34Speaker 1: not only are these better, they're more affordable and they're

- 10:20Speaker 1: Let's get back into the interview. So what's the most
- 10:22Speaker 1: expensive card that you've sold? Like what's the biggest lick
- 10:24Speaker 1: you've hit?
- 10:26Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about it like that, but like,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I'm not going to say the biggest one, but this,
- 10:30Speaker 2: this last week I just sold a card for 40 K.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I paid eight K for it.
- 10:37Speaker 1: What was the timeframe?
- 10:39Speaker 2: A year and a half. And I sold it to
- 10:40Speaker 2: him over there, but I paid eight K and he, uh, Shohei.
- 10:44Speaker 1: So a Shohei card. Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 2: So I paid eight K from, uh, uh, Burbank cards
- 10:49Speaker 2: in like.
- 10:50Speaker 1: 2022, 2023.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And you sold it for $ 40. $ 40, yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So are you buying stuff like.
- 10:56Speaker 2: But that's not the biggest one, but that's like this
- 11:00Speaker 2: past week probably the biggest one in the last week
- 11:03Speaker 2: or two, yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 1: That's pretty good, dude.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It's such a.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Those cards I paid like $ 5 for that I sold
- 11:10Speaker 2: for like $ 2, 000. You know what I mean? Like, it's insane, bro.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's such a crazy game. Like, Do you feel
- 11:18Speaker 1: like there's a chance that the card market crashes?
- 11:22Speaker 2: There's a chance of anything.
- 11:24Speaker 1: That's true.
- 11:24Speaker 2: At the end of the day, it always... Has peaks
- 11:27Speaker 2: and valleys. It's always going to correct itself. You know
- 11:29Speaker 2: what I mean? And when you're buying rare assets, you
- 11:36Speaker 2: do kind of control the... a market if it's rare enough,
- 11:39Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like, I mean, because I feel like
- 11:41Speaker 1: that's what happened with COVID was like during COVID, like
- 11:44Speaker 1: watches and cards and shit and like just like tangible.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And it had that boom, then it went back down.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It was like a lot of tangible items that like
- 11:50Speaker 1: they're a finite amount of.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, like at the end of the day, like
- 11:54Speaker 2: NFTs are cool and all that stuff.
- 11:55Speaker 1: No, that shit was always gay.
- 11:57Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Always gay as fuck.
- 11:59Speaker 2: But people want stuff they can put their hands on.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, the NFT shit. I've never, ever bought into that.
- 12:04Speaker 2: No, I haven't either. I'm not trying to go too
- 12:06Speaker 2: hard on everybody.
- 12:06Speaker 1: No, they're fucking idiots. Shout out to everybody who bought NFT.
- 12:10Speaker 2: There's a lot of rappers leading people on, scamming people
- 12:14Speaker 2: with the NFT coins. It's fucked up, bro.
- 12:16Speaker 1: It is what it is.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Hey, man, this is the way I look at it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It's like, if you're stupid enough to get scammed, sometimes
- 12:24Speaker 1: when people get scammed, I just feel.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Like you're an artist. Yeah, but as an artist, though.
- 12:28Speaker 1: No, no, it's fucked up if you're an artist.
- 12:29Speaker 2: When you're being scammed by your favorite artist that you
- 12:31Speaker 2: look up to, it's different, bro. There has to be
- 12:34Speaker 2: some type of level of moral.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Accountability within the artist. No, you gotta have what you
- 12:39Speaker 1: won't do for money.
- 12:40Speaker 2: No, but at the same time, that's like, It's.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Like when you see these random DMs coming from your
- 12:47Speaker 1: favorite rappers that are like, yo, you're dope, let's work.
- 12:50Speaker 2: You know who, yeah. You know who, but.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, why is this guy DMing every single
- 12:57Speaker 1: rapper I know from Phoenix?
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's insane, right? Like, what the fuck is going on? Yeah,
- 13:02Speaker 2: but it's like, bro, that goes back to the moral
- 13:09Speaker 2: responsibility you have as an artist. It's like, it's like
- 13:12Speaker 2: people claiming a song is theirs and it's not. It's AI. Like,
- 13:18Speaker 2: you know, at the end of the day, like, if
- 13:24Speaker 2: you're an artist, you shouldn't be out here, like, scamming
- 13:27Speaker 2: people and, you know what I mean?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Like, that's insane. Yeah, I think, well, let's talk about, well,
- 13:31Speaker 1: I'm going to talk a little bit more about the
- 13:32Speaker 1: card game before we get into your AI conversation.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Oh, no, I'm not even trying to get into that, bro.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I just, just accidentally all the time, bro.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Um, On the card side, how do you kind of
- 13:44Speaker 1: see hip hop and the card game being related? Because
- 13:50Speaker 1: I feel like you'll see a lot of celebrities, now
- 13:53Speaker 1: they're starting to get into it. Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I feel like it's always been... People that know about
- 14:02Speaker 2: appreciating and depreciating assets have always been into the card game.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Charlie Sheen had one of the craziest card collections of
- 14:09Speaker 2: all time, and he made... And millions off it. You
- 14:12Speaker 2: know what I mean? Damn.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 14:14Speaker 2: If you look it up, you'll trip the fuck out.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Did he smoke at all? No. I think he sold
- 14:20Speaker 2: most of it.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Good for him.
- 14:21Speaker 2: But he has like fucking 52 mantles. Like Steve Aoki's
- 14:26Speaker 2: got crazy collection. Yeah. He has that kind of thing.
- 14:29Speaker 2: But Charlie Sheen's a little.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Bit above that. He's been doing it a long time.
- 14:34Speaker 2: He's not just getting in in 2018 or something like that. Yeah.
- 14:37Speaker 2: If you had shit back in the day, forget about it.
- 14:41Speaker 2: A lot of people have always had, like, the foresight
- 14:45Speaker 2: to be able to see ahead. But, like, rap is such, like,
- 14:48Speaker 2: a get the money and, like, blow it, like, industry
- 14:53Speaker 2: that people aren't really tapped into, like, appreciating assets.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Well, and also, like, having a card at home in
- 14:59Speaker 1: the safe is not sexy.
- 15:01Speaker 2: It's not the same as having, like, you know what
- 15:03Speaker 2: I mean? Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So people will be like, man, I'd rather buy a chain.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Uh but it's it's it's interesting so for you you
- 15:10Speaker 1: i know you have like certain players you collect yeah
- 15:12Speaker 1: are you stressed out about your herbert collection um that's.
- 15:16Speaker 2: The one player that like i collect for me because
- 15:20Speaker 2: i like herbert you know what i mean i don't
- 15:22Speaker 2: have like a crazy amount of him i probably got
- 15:23Speaker 2: like didn't you have did you have 5k or something
- 15:25Speaker 2: that's not that that's not too crazy like it was
- 15:29Speaker 2: a lot more.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's it's who's your main guy is it shohei.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Long term, it's like Otani, but I also really like
- 15:38Speaker 2: LeBron right now. I'm not a huge LeBron fan.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I feel like somehow LeBron's still undervalued. He is. He is.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Bro, I just bought a LeBron rookie auto for $ 16. 5 million,
- 15:51Speaker 2: maybe like a month ago. Yeah. In the same car
- 15:54Speaker 2: I just bought, just sold for $ 32, 000. So it's almost
- 15:57Speaker 2: like 100% double up in a month, which is absolutely insane.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and especially if he gets a ring this year. And, like,
- 16:04Speaker 1: when he retires.
- 16:05Speaker 2: It's really, like, the timing of everything. Right. Just like
- 16:08Speaker 2: you said. Like, you know what I mean? Like, Artie.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Like, if they win this year, Tyrese and Max. I
- 16:12Speaker 1: like Maxie. I think Maxie's going to be there.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I love Maxie.
- 16:14Speaker 1: He's so fire, bro. I love Maxie.
- 16:16Speaker 2: He's really undervalued, too, as well.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And if somehow Embiid can pull through a season.
- 16:20Speaker 2: If he can play, like, 20 games, dude. Just at
- 16:22Speaker 2: the end. Wow.
- 16:24Speaker 1: If they win a ring? Because I feel like no
- 16:27Speaker 1: one's buying Embiid cards. No.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I mean, you have to be insane.
- 16:30Speaker 1: His rookie cards are so trash, too.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Just imagine you're a person that has invested in Embiid,
- 16:35Speaker 2: and he gets hurt again and again and again. So
- 16:37Speaker 2: eventually the people at the top of the card market
- 16:40Speaker 2: are going to be like, hey, let me relax on
- 16:41Speaker 2: this guy a little bit because I've lost money like
- 16:43Speaker 2: four times.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Do you think Zion and Ja Moran are good buys
- 16:46Speaker 1: because they're so low right now? Oh, God. Because so
- 16:50Speaker 1: many people ate shit on those cards.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I love them. I love Ja and I love I.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Feel like Ja could have I mean he's got the
- 16:58Speaker 1: best Nike.
- 16:59Speaker 2: No I don't think so bro like I think the
- 17:01Speaker 2: only good buys in sports are the top 1%.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Of players of all time like you like Mahomes yes Tom.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Brady exactly Tom Brady LeBron Michael Jordan Kobe Messi Kobe
- 17:17Speaker 2: all the way you know what I mean like it
- 17:18Speaker 2: has a lot to do with how like people like
- 17:21Speaker 2: view you as an icon overall too you know like
- 17:24Speaker 2: Tim Duncan cards are shit. Even though he's one of
- 17:27Speaker 2: the best players of all time, he's so fucking boring.
- 17:29Speaker 1: But they're popping now, right?
- 17:30Speaker 2: A little bit, but not what they should be.
- 17:33Speaker 1: You know whose cards I think are going to end
- 17:35Speaker 1: up having a big Shaq-type jump is Barkley.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Maybe, because he's such a big personality. He's relevant still.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Former MVP.
- 17:46Speaker 2: He also didn't win any championships.
- 17:48Speaker 1: True.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But I feel like AI's cards just had a jump. Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 2: but when you're looking for something super long-term, you really.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Do want to... Maybe not long-term.
- 18:03Speaker 2: On the best players ever, you know what I mean?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Because it's kind of like this instead of.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're going to buy and hold. Yeah, exactly.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I wouldn't say anything is a smart buy except those.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Everything else is a risk.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Everything's a gamble.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Everything's a risk, man. Right now, I just got super...
- 18:23Speaker 2: lucky on uh jose de paula i've.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Been reaching this for like a year yeah i bought
- 18:27Speaker 1: so much i've spent like 30 grand on that dude's cards.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Oh dude you're a smart man right i mean we'll
- 18:33Speaker 2: see i mean the market's through the roof right how
- 18:35Speaker 2: much are you.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Up right now i don't know i haven't even i
- 18:38Speaker 1: haven't if you had to guess oh i just sold
- 18:40Speaker 1: the card though i doubled the money that i sold
- 18:42Speaker 1: that red that red uh first edition uh out of
- 18:46Speaker 1: five I sold that for double what I bought.
- 18:50Speaker 2: So you're up almost 100% value-wise, though.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Just on that card, yeah. Shout-out to the Japanese, bro.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I pulled up at some sketchy-ass place in East Hollywood.
- 18:59Speaker 1: It looked sketchy. It was called, like, The Vault or
- 19:01Speaker 1: some shit.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Cold Hard Cash, huh?
- 19:03Speaker 1: And it was some Japanese bro who, like, was from
- 19:05Speaker 1: Orange County. And so I meet him upstairs, and he's, like,
- 19:10Speaker 1: a Pokemon guy. He's got all this, like, iced-out fucking
- 19:13Speaker 1: Chrome Hearts on and shit.
- 19:14Speaker 2: That's crazy, right?
- 19:15Speaker 1: And then he's showing me his collection. He just spent
- 19:18Speaker 1: 400 grand on an Otani. And he's telling me he
- 19:21Speaker 1: just got into sports. Dude.
- 19:23Speaker 2: He just got into sports and spent 400 grand on
- 19:25Speaker 2: an Otani.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I see him open his PSA, or his card ladder,
- 19:28Speaker 1: and it says his collection value is worth like $ 2 million.
- 19:31Speaker 1: And I was like, who the fuck is this guy?
- 19:34Speaker 2: I was going to show you mine.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I told him. I was like, yo, dawg, I'm going
- 19:39Speaker 1: to shoot you all the cards I got. Because he's like,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I like this guy. like i think he's gonna be
- 19:43Speaker 1: really good you know like yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Bro he is though bro like he's bro he's he's.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Him bro not for sure i hope so yeah he's
- 19:50Speaker 1: awesome bro that's literally all the cards i own are
- 19:52Speaker 1: his no not that's not true i have a he's
- 19:54Speaker 1: such a good hitter.
- 19:55Speaker 2: It's absolutely insane but if he can just get his
- 20:06Speaker 2: uh fielding defense up to just like an okay.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Bro yeah because there's a lot of average.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Ass top 10 best player in the league.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Well there's a lot of average ass defenders that yeah
- 20:15Speaker 1: exactly are win win mvps he just needs to get.
- 20:18Speaker 2: To that level you know.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I mean like where he's not just a liability yeah
- 20:21Speaker 1: exactly can't be a liability can't be a liability.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Like many ramirez a little bit of a liability but
- 20:27Speaker 2: he right but he had such swag right he was
- 20:30Speaker 2: just many so at the end of the day it
- 20:32Speaker 2: didn't matter that's Kind of how I look at DePaulo.
- 20:36Speaker 2: But he seems like he's a hard worker. He's going
- 20:37Speaker 2: to keep on trying. You know what I mean?
- 20:40Speaker 1: All right, man. Shout out to our family at Cal Shee.
- 20:42Speaker 1: We're back on Cal Shee with my pick of the week.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Hit the link in the bio. Trade $ 25 and get
- 20:47Speaker 1: a free $ 55 to trade with when you hit the
- 20:49Speaker 1: link in the bio. And you're supporting the Bootleg Head podcast. Listen,
- 20:52Speaker 1: this week, man, week five NFL, I think the Bengals
- 20:55Speaker 1: are going to absolutely destroy the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins
- 21:00Speaker 1: are probably the worst team in the league. The Bengals
- 21:03Speaker 1: are coming off of a tough loss. They're 2-2. They
- 21:05Speaker 1: probably should be 3-1, maybe even 4-0. So I like
- 21:09Speaker 1: the Bengals. Now, if you want to take the Bengals
- 21:11Speaker 1: straight up to win, they're trading at 76% right now.
- 21:15Speaker 1: That means a yes contract for them to beat the
- 21:18Speaker 1: Dolphins is at 77 cents a contract. But I do
- 21:20Speaker 1: like when you scroll down a little, you can hit
- 21:23Speaker 1: that spread in total. I like it if you move
- 21:26Speaker 1: it down to 6.5 points. That means that the Bengals
- 21:30Speaker 1: have to win the game. by seven for you to win.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It's at 56%. I like that, man.
- 21:36Speaker 2: 56%.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I'm saying that's my pick of the week. Bengals to
- 21:41Speaker 1: win by six and a half or more at 56%
- 21:46Speaker 1: on Kalshi. I love it. I think they're going to
- 21:49Speaker 1: destroy the Miami Dolphins. I think Joe Burrell's going to
- 21:51Speaker 1: have a big game. Chase Brown's going to get in
- 21:53Speaker 1: the end zone too. So that's my pick of the
- 21:55Speaker 1: week on Kalshi. Hit the link in the bio and
- 21:57Speaker 1: make sure you sign up because not only are you
- 22:00Speaker 1: supporting the Bootleg Head podcast, but most importantly, if you
- 22:04Speaker 1: trade with $ 25, you're going to get $ 55 of free
- 22:07Speaker 1: money to trade with on Calshi by hitting that link
- 22:09Speaker 1: in the bio. Let's get back to the podcast. So explain,
- 22:14Speaker 1: so what did you go to prison for?
- 22:15Speaker 2: Oh, shit, dude.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Okay, you love- Well, you brought it up. You said
- 22:19Speaker 1: you were in prison.
- 22:20Speaker 2: No, I know, but I do. I went to prison for-
- 22:25Speaker 2: Armed robbery on a weed dealer that I found out
- 22:32Speaker 2: was a child molester. Oh, shit.
- 22:35Speaker 1: So you robbed him.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, at the time, it seemed like morally correct.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I mean, you know, definitely.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I saw it as like a no harm, no foul
- 22:44Speaker 2: type situation. Then like the next day he called me
- 22:47Speaker 2: and was like, bro, I'm about to call the police.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I'm like, and tell them what? He literally called the
- 22:52Speaker 2: police and told them that I... stole his weed like
- 22:56Speaker 2: I robbed him for weed.
- 22:58Speaker 1: That's crazy so you end up getting out signing with
- 23:00Speaker 1: Big U uh huh what was the journey like working
- 23:03Speaker 1: with Big U obviously shout out to Big U man.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Shout out Big U man shout out Hunk man.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Um but I feel like I feel like depending on
- 23:10Speaker 1: like which version of Big U you know cause like
- 23:13Speaker 1: I've known Big U for 14 years yeah He was
- 23:17Speaker 1: always so cool. Never did no weirdo shit. Like, never. Like,
- 23:20Speaker 1: could have easily.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Bro, come on, bro.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Bro, like, the narrative that, like, he was, like, checking
- 23:24Speaker 1: people or, like, bro, I'm like.
- 23:26Speaker 2: It's so, bro, it's so untrue and, like, such a
- 23:32Speaker 2: stretch of the truth, bro.
- 23:33Speaker 1: What's, like, if he wanted to, like, dude, I was
- 23:35Speaker 1: on the radio in L.A. If there was anybody he
- 23:38Speaker 1: wanted to, like. press he had artists that like he
- 23:41Speaker 1: he i never got a single ounce or smidget of
- 23:44Speaker 1: like weird energy nothing ever ever it was always like
- 23:47Speaker 1: hey just hit me if you're like you know obviously
- 23:49Speaker 1: he was just.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah bro it's a fucking it's a super unfortunate situation
- 23:55Speaker 2: when like.
- 23:55Speaker 1: It is for sure and then obviously with a scapegoat
- 23:58Speaker 1: or some shit you know what i mean like and
- 23:59Speaker 1: then you know i was cool with his son who
- 24:00Speaker 1: passed away you know yeah um some legendary molly mall
- 24:04Speaker 1: nights for.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Sure the rest in peace you man yeah Did.
- 24:07Speaker 1: You ever end up... Were you ever hanging at Molly
- 24:08Speaker 1: Mall's crib in the Valley? I had a lot of
- 24:11Speaker 1: nights there. When it was the Crib Castle?
- 24:12Speaker 2: I had a lot of nights at Molly Mall's crib.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It was the Crib Castle for a while.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I don't know about all that.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Dude, when I was coming from... When I first started
- 24:23Speaker 1: at Real 92.3, I was only doing weekends, so I
- 24:26Speaker 1: would drive from Phoenix out here, and that's where I'd
- 24:27Speaker 1: sleep every weekend. It was the Crib Castle.
- 24:29Speaker 2: How the fuck did you sleep there?
- 24:30Speaker 1: On a couch. Oh, God. On like some old red,
- 24:34Speaker 1: like vintage.
- 24:35Speaker 2: With all that. Oh yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 1: It was a lot. It was a lot.
- 24:38Speaker 2: It was the Versace couch, bro. Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And then I'd get there and this will be like,
- 24:41Speaker 1: and you know, I've known mall for since like 2000
- 24:43Speaker 1: because I used to live in Vegas. So any old
- 24:46Speaker 1: mall is the kind of guy, by.
- 24:47Speaker 2: The way, free, free Molly mall, free mall too.
- 24:50Speaker 1: That's my guy.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I forgot that they just got Molly. He's the kind
- 24:53Speaker 2: of guy you're like, God damn. Literally free mall again, man.
- 24:56Speaker 1: You just like give you the keys to his like
- 24:58Speaker 1: Bentley and be like, here man, just take it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Just take it, bro. Whatever.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Like what the fuck?
- 25:03Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie, our first, like, six music videos
- 25:07Speaker 2: ever for OSBS were, like, at his house.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I'm sure a lot of artists could say the same thing.
- 25:12Speaker 1: That pool in the back.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 25:14Speaker 1: He had, like, the Scarface house in Encino.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he did, bro. Yeah. He was awesome. He had
- 25:18Speaker 2: the Chef E.L. down there.
- 25:20Speaker 1: The Vegas house was crazy.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Chef E.L. down there, just.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Cooking up 24-7, bro. That was awesome.
- 25:25Speaker 1: What do you think is the biggest misconception about you, though?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Now that we kind of, like... I feel like people
- 25:29Speaker 1: have kind of.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Trying to see a little bit. Yeah. Um... I don't know, man.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I feel like a lot of people think that the
- 25:47Speaker 2: music that we're doing right now is AI. I don't
- 25:51Speaker 2: know how. I'm like, bro, I've been so anti-AI and
- 25:55Speaker 2: firm on my stance the whole time. I think it's
- 26:00Speaker 2: just because of the quality of the production and all that.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 26:06Speaker 1: Well, I feel like you had a moment where I
- 26:08Speaker 1: felt like you initially liked the Phoenix Flexing song.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I did, but then I heard it like two or
- 26:15Speaker 2: three times, and I was like, hold on. This is
- 26:18Speaker 2: not real. Like, I don't know what it was initially,
- 26:24Speaker 2: but I think you know what it was? He has
- 26:27Speaker 2: a lisp, and every word in that sound was pronounced perfectly.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Like, bro, like.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I stutter, bro. I can't get through a whole paragraph
- 26:41Speaker 2: without it. He has a list, bro.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Do you think him doubling down on it not being
- 26:45Speaker 1: AI hurt him as opposed to if he had just
- 26:47Speaker 1: came out immediately?
- 26:48Speaker 2: Oh, fuck yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 1: If he would have been like, yeah, this.
- 26:50Speaker 2: That goes to the morally responsible thing, bro. You can't
- 26:54Speaker 2: fucking mislead the fans when you're in a position for
- 26:58Speaker 2: people to either... look up to you or, like, kids and, like,
- 27:03Speaker 2: not everything in, like, life can be a troll. Right.
- 27:07Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like, bro, like, I don't know.
- 27:09Speaker 2: That shit's demonic to me. I don't really like the
- 27:12Speaker 2: AI shit at all. I feel like there's, like, a certain... Yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 2: I think when it comes to art, it's... There's, like,
- 27:18Speaker 2: a frequency in it, bro. Like, there's, like, a certain, like,
- 27:20Speaker 2: frequency that they try to tap into and it's just
- 27:23Speaker 2: a little.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Well, I just think when it comes to, like, art, right? It's, like...
- 27:27Speaker 1: You have to separate, like, I feel like you can't
- 27:31Speaker 1: fight AI in terms of like eventually everyone's lives are
- 27:36Speaker 1: going to have some sort of AI involved. It's kind
- 27:38Speaker 1: of like the internet. But the art side. You have
- 27:40Speaker 1: to separate art. It's like, hey, man.
- 27:41Speaker 2: You can't do that.
- 27:43Speaker 1: And my thing is if you're going to do the
- 27:45Speaker 1: AI thing, because I like the Phoenix Flexes song. Be
- 27:47Speaker 1: honest about it. I was the first person to play
- 27:48Speaker 1: it on the radio. Be honest about it, bro.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Be like, this is AI.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like if you're going to do it,
- 27:52Speaker 1: just embrace it. Like you do the Soulja Boy thing.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I was the first motherfucker to take an AI record.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Do AI and go crazy? Yeah, I would respect that more.
- 28:00Speaker 2: You know what I mean? It's just, I don't know, bro.
- 28:03Speaker 2: It just rubs me the wrong way when me and
- 28:08Speaker 2: other artists can spend two weeks on one song and
- 28:14Speaker 2: making sure every sound is right.
- 28:17Speaker 1: It sucks too because it's funny because Alexis, my artist,
- 28:22Speaker 1: we have a whole 80s album that's been done for
- 28:24Speaker 1: two years.
- 28:24Speaker 2: That's sick. I've heard it.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got Tory Lanez on it. Everybody's on this
- 28:28Speaker 1: fucking album.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It's sick as fuck.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Wiz is on it. Everybody's on it.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Speaking of that, bro, I need to get on that thing.
- 28:33Speaker 1: No, but it's funny because I feel like the Phoenix
- 28:37Speaker 1: moment combined with Tyga doing it in a really corny way.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it was really bad.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I was like, ugh. Because for a sec there, we
- 28:45Speaker 1: were like, oh, this might be the time to drop
- 28:47Speaker 1: this album because maybe this is a wave. But now
- 28:50Speaker 1: the wave feels like, I don't know.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but I feel like at the end of the day.
- 28:56Speaker 1: But if you could do it live and sing it
- 28:58Speaker 1: live and it's real, like, you know, like.
- 29:00Speaker 2: It has to, like, separate itself.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Like, our shit was literally all live instrumentation with Austin
- 29:06Speaker 1: Sexton and shit.
- 29:06Speaker 2: He's awesome, bro.
- 29:07Speaker 1: So it's just, like, I think it's funny because it's, like,
- 29:11Speaker 1: I think that Tyga's shit didn't help.
- 29:14Speaker 2: No, it didn't at all.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Because no one's listening to that shit.
- 29:17Speaker 2: No.
- 29:18Speaker 1: And it's like, dog, why? Like, why? I think it got, like, a.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I think it got, like, a... 0.0 on Pitchfork.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and like... I've never seen that. It's like... I
- 29:29Speaker 1: don't know. It's bad, man. Shout out to Tory. Tory's
- 29:31Speaker 1: really the guy who like did that shit for real. No, absolutely.
- 29:35Speaker 1: What year was that? Like 2020?
- 29:36Speaker 2: 2019?
- 29:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Still relevant. too. What he did was Alone at
- 29:41Speaker 1: the Prom?
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Still relevant, too.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Great album.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Still hits. Bro, I hear people playing that album all
- 29:47Speaker 2: the time.
- 29:47Speaker 1: So good. Literally, still to this day. So when is
- 29:51Speaker 1: your album coming out?
- 29:52Speaker 2: I think right now we're probably looking at early November
- 29:58Speaker 2: right now.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, that's pretty soon.
- 30:00Speaker 2: No name for it yet. You know what I mean?
- 30:02Speaker 2: The album's completely done. The last part is literally just
- 30:05Speaker 2: to name it.
- 30:06Speaker 1: That's fire.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Would you have Phoenix Flexin on there? I saw him comment, man.
- 30:14Speaker 1: I saw him drop the comment.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know why he'd do that. I mean.
- 30:19Speaker 1: What if he came and he wanted to give you
- 30:20Speaker 1: a Shoreline-style verse?
- 30:23Speaker 2: I don't think that's going to happen. I don't think
- 30:25Speaker 2: he wants to do that at all.
- 30:30Speaker 1: What about Playboy Cardi? Fuck Cardi.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Fuck Cardi. His day is still, bro.
- 30:37Speaker 1: So what did you bring here? Because you're a card guy.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I brought this up for you, bro. What is this?
- 30:41Speaker 2: It's like a $ 600 box, bro. Three cards. $ 600, bro.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Okay, so this is a wrestling box. Three cards. Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Did you get this from Burbank Sports Cards?
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yes, I did, bro.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Shout out to our... I just was on their podcast.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I shouted you out on that podcast.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Shout out to Ryan, bro.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I shouted you out. Jordan. The other Ryan.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Gangsta Ryan.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that place is crazy.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Bro, they're actually probably the dopest people in the card business.
- 31:10Speaker 1: You got a fucking knife or something? Or a key?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Dopest people in the whole card business, for sure.
- 31:16Speaker 1: The Rob dude is super cool.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I love him, bro.
- 31:18Speaker 1: They're awesome. They call him the card father?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they're awesome, bro.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I just did this podcast with him.
- 31:23Speaker 2: There's a lot of cool card shops in fucking LA, bro.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Box Breaks, Mania.
- 31:29Speaker 1: You also have... Don't you have some Marvel cards? Oh, bro.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Because the Marvel shit is kind of lit, too. And
- 31:37Speaker 1: the Disney shit.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Crazy shit, bro.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Like, imagine if you had a... What's this?
- 31:42Speaker 2: Spider-Man. Case hit right there, right?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Isn't this for sale? Didn't you post this for sale
- 31:46Speaker 1: for like six grand?
- 31:47Speaker 2: 6K, yep.

- 32:44Speaker 1: right here on the Blue Lake Head podcast.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I just posted it.
- 32:47Speaker 1: So what makes this... When someone says case hit, what's
- 32:50Speaker 1: that mean?
- 32:50Speaker 2: So like a case hit is like a super rare,
- 32:55Speaker 2: like an.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Insert, right? So this is a case.
- 32:58Speaker 2: So there's... Yeah, there's like usually like one per case, right?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:03Speaker 2: And it's like a super rare... insert and like a
- 33:06Speaker 2: case is like usually 12 to eight, uh, uh, hobby boxes.
- 33:11Speaker 2: You can get like one super rare case hit per case.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And this is the Spider-Man and Venom one. It's like
- 33:20Speaker 2: 6,000 now. Wow. Yeah.
- 33:22Speaker 1: What's the craziest card you brought in this box years?
- 33:25Speaker 2: This isn't much bro. Like I would say these two
- 33:29Speaker 2: DePaul is right here. And this one, I just, uh,
- 33:34Speaker 2: It got from my mom. This is actually Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's
- 33:38Speaker 2: first Topps Super Fracture.
- 33:40Speaker 1: One of one Super Fracture.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Yeah. I bought it raw, and then I graded it.
- 33:45Speaker 2: It came back a 10.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Damn.
- 33:49Speaker 2: This is my favorite player right now, bro, in sports.
- 33:52Speaker 2: That's DePaulo, though.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yes. I have this card, but then a 9.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's worth about 10 to 12K, and this one's
- 34:00Speaker 2: worth about 15 right there.
- 34:02Speaker 1: That's an orange. The orange refractor.
- 34:06Speaker 2: He's like the next Dodgers superstar, though.
- 34:10Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Is there a superfractor to
- 34:14Speaker 1: this card?
- 34:14Speaker 2: Yeah, there is.
- 34:16Speaker 1: You got it.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I've heard that the person that has it wanted $ 120K
- 34:23Speaker 2: for it, and that was before he got called up.
- 34:27Speaker 2: So he probably wants, what?
- 34:29Speaker 1: He's fucking tripping.
- 34:30Speaker 2: $ 250K now or something like that?
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 2: He wants like $ 200K. 200-something?
- 34:34Speaker 1: That fool's tripping.
- 34:35Speaker 2: He is tripping.
- 34:36Speaker 1: No, he's crazy.
- 34:37Speaker 2: 400, though? 100, if you think about it.
- 34:39Speaker 1: I probably would have bought it. All right, so we're
- 34:41Speaker 1: going to go through these. This is three WWE cards.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yep.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Panini.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yep.
- 34:47Speaker 1: There's only three in here.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Just three, baby.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Ooh! We're coming out hot.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What's that? Timeless Moments?
- 34:52Speaker 1: I don't know who this is.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Is that a fucking Timeless Moments?
- 34:55Speaker 1: This is a Caden Carter. I'm not going to lie.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I don't know who the fuck that is.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I don't know who the fuck that is either, bro.
- 35:00Speaker 1: All right, so we're all for one right now.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Caden Carter, we apologize.
- 35:03Speaker 1: She's probably not on the roster anymore. All right, let's
- 35:05Speaker 1: go to the next one. Hold on, hold on. Brooks Jensen,
- 35:10Speaker 1: no fucking clue.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Who is that?
- 35:11Speaker 1: No fucking idea.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Who the fuck is this guy?
- 35:14Speaker 1: NXT.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I could wrestle him, bro. What the fuck, dude? NXT,
- 35:18Speaker 2: what the fuck?
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a rough one. Okay, so right now we're
- 35:21Speaker 1: 0 for 2.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Come on, baby. Come on, baby, let's heat up.
- 35:24Speaker 1: All right, here we go. A Cody Rhodes.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Oh, that's sick as fuck.
- 35:30Speaker 1: That's not bad. That's out of 75. I think this is.
- 35:34Speaker 2: That's pretty sick.
- 35:34Speaker 1: It's an auto with... Is this the map?
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Something, right?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yo, so when it comes to the... This is like a.
- 35:43Speaker 2: So these.
- 35:43Speaker 1: So let me ask you, like these cards, right? You
- 35:46Speaker 1: wouldn't get them graded? You wouldn't get it graded?
- 35:47Speaker 2: Let me see.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Well, it looks fucked up on the back. Look at
- 35:50Speaker 1: the back.
- 35:50Speaker 2: See the corner? Oh, fuck. Yeah, no. Hell no. Hell no, bro.
- 35:57Speaker 2: It looks like.
- 35:58Speaker 1: It's like warped.
- 35:58Speaker 2: It looks like somebody fucking ran this over, bro, with
- 36:00Speaker 2: the car. You can actually send this to Panini and
- 36:06Speaker 2: they'll actually replace it because it's in such horrible condition.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Who the fuck are these people?
- 36:12Speaker 1: They're fucking... Brooks Jensen. Irrelevant.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Brooks Jensen, dude.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Panini fucked this up.
- 36:19Speaker 2: He's a prospect that fell from grace.
- 36:24Speaker 1: No, he's terrible. Awesome, dude.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Fuck you.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Well, we got a Cody.
- 36:27Speaker 2: That's sick.
- 36:27Speaker 1: American Nightmare.
- 36:28Speaker 2: That works. Cody Rhodes, right? That's sick.
- 36:30Speaker 1: These are coasters.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Send that to Panini, exactly.
- 36:33Speaker 1: How do you... So you just send this back?
- 36:34Speaker 2: You probably got to, like, fill out a form and
- 36:37Speaker 2: then be like, hey, I got this out of a box.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I have it on.
- 36:39Speaker 1: On camera.
- 36:40Speaker 2: On camera, sealed box, horrible condition.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Terrible condition.
- 36:43Speaker 2: And they'll fucking replace it, bro.
- 36:45Speaker 1: There it is, man. Well, listen, your album's coming out
- 36:46Speaker 1: in November, hopefully.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yes, hopefully, bro.
- 36:48Speaker 1: No name yet.
- 36:49Speaker 2: No name yet, baby.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Are you going to be doing anything else cool in
- 36:53Speaker 1: the card space, you think? I'm actually.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Thinking about opening up, like, a physical store.
- 36:59Speaker 1: You don't do the shows where you sit down with, like,
- 37:02Speaker 1: a table and.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I do. I always... Do you sell stuff? Yeah,
- 37:05Speaker 2: but I usually try to, like, buy at shows. You
- 37:08Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 37:09Speaker 1: Are you ever... Like, listen, obviously, you're a street guy.
- 37:12Speaker 2: What the fuck are you about to say right now?
- 37:15Speaker 1: How sketchy is it going to these shows? I'd be
- 37:18Speaker 1: afraid I'm finna get robbed out here, bro.
- 37:19Speaker 2: I thought you were just finna say something else right now. Bro, honestly...
- 37:23Speaker 2: It's like L.A.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Is like the hit-lit capital. It's not.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Honestly, when I first got into this space, I hope
- 37:31Speaker 2: that this information doesn't hit the wrong ears, but I
- 37:33Speaker 2: was at first like, damn, like there's people just walking
- 37:37Speaker 2: around with little boxes like this, like 100K, 200K. I'm like,
- 37:41Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying. I was like, some of my homies,
- 37:45Speaker 2: if they knew that, they'd be sitting outside right now.
- 37:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean? But like at the same time,
- 37:51Speaker 2: there's been a lot of people being like, robbed in
- 37:53Speaker 2: like in like the collector space but if you got
- 37:55Speaker 2: a box with 100k or 200k worth of stuff you
- 37:58Speaker 2: can afford to hire a security for a couple hours
- 38:02Speaker 2: to sit at the show with you and ride home
- 38:05Speaker 2: with you after you know i mean 100 or it's
- 38:07Speaker 2: also on the shows also to make sure that if
- 38:10Speaker 2: they're if they're if they're have like 200 uh tables
- 38:15Speaker 2: in a show and they're selling each table for 200
- 38:18Speaker 2: bucks a piece they're probably gonna make dude an insane amount.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's like, these fools,
- 38:25Speaker 1: because in my head, I'm like, I know I would
- 38:27Speaker 1: be thinking if I was fucking 20 years ago, I'd
- 38:30Speaker 1: be like, I'm hanging out outside of fucking.
- 38:33Speaker 2: It's just also just like, just like awareness. There's a
- 38:36Speaker 2: lot of people in the collector space that aren't necessarily
- 38:38Speaker 2: like aware or like.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Well, there's like fake cards now, right?
- 38:42Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of that, bro.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw like fake slabs and.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, you got to be super careful.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's such a... Bro, it's so easy to.
- 38:49Speaker 2: It's such a mainstream... theme because Tops and Michael Rubin
- 38:53Speaker 2: just came in the game and completely changed everything. They
- 38:57Speaker 2: really brought it to the forefront of everything.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Didn't they take all the big licenses too?
- 39:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they took everything from everybody.
- 39:06Speaker 1: So Panini is just non-licensed shit?
- 39:09Speaker 2: They have WWE, WNBA, soccer.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And college.
- 39:20Speaker 2: But Topps has.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Everything.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Baseball, football, and basketball.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Who's got hockey?
- 39:26Speaker 2: That's Upper Deck. And they also have Michael Jordan, so
- 39:29Speaker 2: they'll forever be alive.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Wait, Upper Deck's got Michael Jordan?
- 39:31Speaker 2: Yes, still.
- 39:32Speaker 1: So what does that mean?
- 39:33Speaker 2: It means that he's on a contract with Upper Deck
- 39:39Speaker 2: where he can only sign for them. So he can't
- 39:42Speaker 2: be in Topps products or Panini. They can't even use
- 39:45Speaker 2: the image of him on anything.
- 39:48Speaker 1: So how does that make sense if they can't even
- 39:51Speaker 1: put out basketball cards? They just fucking put out a
- 39:52Speaker 1: fucking pack of Jordan cards?
- 39:53Speaker 2: It's like him in like a suit usually or something crazy.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Does it like get dumped in a hockey pack?
- 39:59Speaker 2: Golf cards it could be in or just like normal,
- 40:01Speaker 2: just like upper deck.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Upper deck used to crack, fool.
- 40:04Speaker 2: They have Michael Jordan. Well, they had Jordan and LeBron
- 40:11Speaker 2: for a while. They're the only people that had like
- 40:13Speaker 2: Jordan and LeBron.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 40:14Speaker 2: And then LeBron like just went with Topps. but they
- 40:17Speaker 2: had Jordan and LeBron, so they would have a random-ass
- 40:19Speaker 2: product called Upper Deck Goodwin or something, and they would
- 40:27Speaker 2: have just Tiger Woods cards or Michael Jordan or LeBron,
- 40:31Speaker 2: but they are obviously super hard to hit, but that
- 40:34Speaker 2: was the whole force behind their product. They didn't even
- 40:36Speaker 2: need the license. They just needed them.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Which basketball player, if you could invest in a newer
- 40:42Speaker 1: player right now?
- 40:42Speaker 2: I hate to even say this. My head says... I
- 40:47Speaker 2: win Benyana, but my heart says Luka Doncic, though.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Because I feel like Luka could win the MVP.
- 40:53Speaker 2: He just lost his girl, bro. He's looking fit.
- 40:56Speaker 1: He's serious.
- 40:57Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 40:57Speaker 1: So what is this card? This is a Luka.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Purple Prism out of 75. I bought this for my
- 41:06Speaker 2: baby mama as her push present. It's like $ 8, 000, $ 9, 000.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So what is it worth now?
- 41:11Speaker 2: It's still worth $ 8, 000, $ 9, 000. It wasn't that long ago.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Because his cards are kind of downish, right?
- 41:17Speaker 2: They're not too down, but they're just a little flat thing.
- 41:20Speaker 2: They're not really going up and down too much. He
- 41:22Speaker 2: has to win MVP or win a.
- 41:24Speaker 1: What about Giannis? You think Giannis is a little underpriced
- 41:26Speaker 1: right now? Absolutely.
- 41:27Speaker 2: But he's a big man, and people don't really like...
- 41:32Speaker 2: He's awesome. He's probably one of the best of all time.
- 41:35Speaker 1: What about Brunton? Overpriced because of the ring?
- 41:39Speaker 2: I would wait a year or two.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 2: To invest in Jalen Brunson. If you're like a crazy
- 41:45Speaker 2: Knicks fan, I think it's probably at the highest right now. Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Luka. Invest in the Slovenian. Bro, look.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Have you seen him, bro?
- 41:54Speaker 1: He's fucking slim as fuck, dude. He's the great white.
- 41:58Speaker 1: It's a whole fucking Lakers. It's just a fucking pack
- 42:00Speaker 1: of whites. They got an all-time white as their coach.
- 42:04Speaker 2: We gotta do something about that. We gotta do something
- 42:06Speaker 2: about that.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I don't know what they could do. They got Walker Kessler.
- 42:12Speaker 2: The rest of the team has to be like the.
- 42:15Speaker 1: They just got to go sign Ja Morant.
- 42:17Speaker 2: No, bro. Ja in LA? Come on, bro. He going
- 42:21Speaker 2: to be.
- 42:22Speaker 1: He'll be a rolling 60. Bro, don't say that. You
- 42:25Speaker 1: guys will fucking jump him in.
- 42:26Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Before you know it, that motherfucker's going to be running
- 42:31Speaker 1: around with fucking Yankees and Mariners hats. What happened with
- 42:36Speaker 1: Ja Morant? It'll be like the Chris Brown thing. You
- 42:37Speaker 1: know how Chris Brown's like magically a gang member? You'd
- 42:39Speaker 1: be like, why? I think the same thing is going
- 42:41Speaker 1: to happen with John Moran if he ever moves to L.A.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Don't bring John to L.A. That's the worst idea you've
- 42:45Speaker 2: ever had.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Anyway, appreciate you pulling up, man. 6 a.m., my dog.
