- 0:46talk about the world of
- 0:47sports and entertainment
- 0:49and specifically crossfit

- 1:03lunchtime it is it's
- 1:07lunchtime um trying to find
- 1:10something uh in my email
- 1:13and I'm having a hard time
- 1:15with that for some reason um anyway
- 1:27I wanted to share what CrossFit sent out.
- 1:30There it is.
- 1:30Okay.
- 1:33So, let's saw a dart.
- 1:36I haven't done that in a while.
- 1:38Here we go.
- 1:42Oh, goodness.
- 1:44I thought it was there and
- 1:45then the tip dipped right at the,
- 1:48right at the, so about three inches low.
- 1:54ah hate when the tip dips
- 1:56man oh it was right there
- 1:58was going in it right at
- 2:00the very end draw your
- 2:05dagger are you going to WFP I am not
- 2:10I am focusing on the masters
- 2:12and teens CrossFit games
- 2:14here in Columbus.
- 2:16And then WFP is the next week.
- 2:18I just,
- 2:18I can't take after the games and
- 2:21that take another week off
- 2:24within that timeframe.
- 2:28So, yeah, I just can't get out there this,
- 2:31this time.
- 2:32Plus,
- 2:32I don't think I'm number one on their
- 2:34fanboy list right now after
- 2:38what's been going on the last few months.
- 2:42And what's crazy is I've
- 2:43only criticized their content.
- 2:46I have not criticized
- 2:47anything else about them,
- 2:48but they take everything so
- 2:51hard and come at me so hard after that.
- 2:55Anyway.
- 2:57I digress.
- 2:58We're going to talk about it
- 2:58more as that kind of approaches.
- 3:01We'll cover it just like we
- 3:02cover everything else.
- 3:07But anyway,
- 3:08I'm in a riffy kind of mood today.
- 3:11So we're going to look at
- 3:13some things where I have
- 3:16been asked questions,
- 3:19challenged in comments,
- 3:21and we're going to talk
- 3:22about those a little bit.
- 3:25It's going to be a fun day.
- 3:28But anyway,
- 3:29I wanted to show everybody this
- 3:32new CrossFit campaign, marketing campaign,
- 3:38whatever you want to call it.
- 3:40But it is called CrossFit is the Cure.
- 3:43And I wanted to show, like,
- 3:44as part of the media,
- 3:46I got an email from them.
- 3:49And I'm going to share it
- 3:50because there's nothing
- 3:51really major in here, right?
- 3:54So in here, they talk about...
- 3:57They talk about all the
- 3:58stuff that they're doing,
- 4:00that they're launching this
- 4:01campaign and they want everybody,
- 4:03especially us to spread the word.
- 4:06And they're giving us all
- 4:07the assets that they have
- 4:09available to put out there.
- 4:11So if you saw yesterday on my Instagram,
- 4:14I posted the one video.
- 4:16A lot of other people from
- 4:17the media world have done the same.
- 4:20So essentially they have a link.
- 4:24And I will stop sharing and
- 4:25show you what the link goes to.
- 4:29It goes to a Google Drive.
- 4:32So here we are on Google.
- 4:34And here's the social media guide.
- 4:37So here's all the social
- 4:38media stuff that they're posting.
- 4:41They're giving to the media
- 4:43to download and for us to
- 4:45be able to post it as well.
- 4:49I go back F the quick fix
- 4:53here are the videos in
- 4:55three different formats to
- 4:57be able to share on
- 4:59different social media
- 5:01avenues so not only do I
- 5:04think it's a great campaign
- 5:06but I love the way
- 5:08that they're sharing the
- 5:09information with the media
- 5:12for them to be able to share it out.
- 5:14They're not acting like this
- 5:16is mine and mine alone and
- 5:20try to copy and paste or
- 5:21screen grab or whatever.
- 5:24They're actually,
- 5:25they sent all this to the
- 5:26media and gave them access
- 5:28to all the assets and we
- 5:31can post them at will to
- 5:34our social medias, social medias,
- 5:37that sounds weird,
- 5:38to our social media
- 5:38accounts and be able to
- 5:42share this message.
- 5:43And what's great about this
- 5:45message is it's about
- 5:51that you can't substitute the hard work.
- 5:54You can't substitute what it
- 5:57takes to become healthy.
- 6:00You have to put in the work
- 6:03and that CrossFit is the cure.
- 6:08You know, there are no shortcuts.
- 6:11It's really, we hate to break it to you.
- 6:16There are no shortcuts, right?
- 6:18It's all about the hard work.
- 6:20It's all about getting that
- 6:24message out that there is no quick pill.
- 6:27There is no quick fix.
- 6:29It is all about putting in
- 6:31the work and that CrossFit
- 6:33can be the cure for the
- 6:35world's most vexing problem.
- 6:37And I've talked about it for
- 6:38a couple weeks that in the
- 6:40last few months, CrossFit has...
- 6:44gone back to what their
- 6:45definition of who they are are and
- 6:51that they are now pointing
- 6:52at their North Star more.
- 6:55And because of this,
- 6:59we have seen an uptick in
- 7:02the popularity of the sport
- 7:04and what is coming to be.
- 7:07And that's why the games I
- 7:11felt this year had a vibe
- 7:13like they haven't had in
- 7:15five or six years.
- 7:22Coordinated communication,
- 7:23what a lovely concept.
- 7:29They should make some
- 7:29t-shirts using the slogan.
- 7:31They should.
- 7:32And I'm sure they will.
- 7:33You know, they've,
- 7:34they've rebranded all of
- 7:35their marketing to that old school,
- 7:39forging elite fitness, pukey,
- 7:41the clown routine is the enemy,
- 7:45all those things.
- 7:46So I do not,
- 7:48it would not surprise me that
- 7:49they are going to make
- 7:50these into shirts as well,
- 7:53because it's getting back to,
- 7:55you got to put in the work.
- 7:59jose got those two helps add
- 8:01it to the gym page right
- 8:04yeah if you're if you're
- 8:05building up a social media
- 8:07presence or a website now
- 8:09you have these assets to
- 8:11put on your website uh to
- 8:13to kind of pump people up I
- 8:19love the campaign finally
- 8:22we got a rosy we got a rosy
- 8:25view photography sighting
- 8:28jess is in the building god
- 8:30I miss her some of the most
- 8:33fun times at events were
- 8:35with her and jamie and the
- 8:38giggle fest that would take
- 8:40place uh but she's busy
- 8:44creating a human being
- 8:45right now and I can't wait
- 8:47to see what happens there
- 8:55Alito, not to be a party pooper,
- 8:57but did you see Hiller's reel?
- 8:59Is it true Will and Jackson
- 9:00could be the potential new owners?
- 9:03I do not know, Lito.
- 9:04I just saw that myself.
- 9:06I have not been able to
- 9:08reach out to Hiller yet.
- 9:10I'll reach out to him
- 9:12probably after the show.
- 9:13And then maybe we can
- 9:14discuss more tomorrow when Corey's on.
- 9:18But I'll reach out and find
- 9:19out how true the rumor is
- 9:22and how much I can say.
- 9:24But we'll see.
- 9:25Jess, I miss you too.
- 9:30Um,
- 9:31Scott's only been asking for this for
- 9:33about three years.
- 9:35Yeah.
- 9:35Just communicate,
- 9:36just have like real press releases.
- 9:39That's what this is.
- 9:41This is what professional
- 9:42organizations do.
- 9:44They create a press release
- 9:45to give to the press,
- 9:47to give to the media,
- 9:48to send out their message all.
- 9:51And because you're controlling the message,
- 9:54you now send out something
- 9:57important and valuable for your company.
- 10:03Yes.
- 10:04Yes.
- 10:05And yes.
- 10:07So anyway,
- 10:08I wanted to share with you how
- 10:10it was sent to us and how
- 10:12they have changed the way
- 10:13they've been doing things.
- 10:16Um, so yeah, really excited about that.
- 10:27On a side note,
- 10:28one thing that's been killing me is,
- 10:30you know, I live here in Columbus and
- 10:34the seven K run was announced.
- 10:36I am getting DMS from
- 10:40masters athletes asking me
- 10:42what the terrain is like, uh,
- 10:45for the seven K run,
- 10:47what the path looks like.
- 10:50Um, so I'm going to tell all of you here,
- 10:53if you're a masters athlete,
- 10:56it is a downtown walking, running path,
- 11:00It is very urban.
- 11:02That means it's paved, I believe,
- 11:04the entire way.
- 11:06It is paved the entire way.
- 11:09And it's pretty flat.
- 11:15If there might be a slight
- 11:16uphill grade out with a
- 11:18slight downhill grade back, but man,
- 11:22Columbus is flat.
- 11:24There just is not...
- 11:27any there's no I grew up in
- 11:30western pennsylvania in the
- 11:32appalachian mountains there
- 11:34are no hills or mountains
- 11:35here in ohio um so yes it's
- 11:41very flat very a very easy
- 11:43run um brett is telling all
- 11:46of his opponents very hilly
- 11:49wear trail running shoes
- 11:50very muddy yeah we want a
- 11:56level playing field
- 11:59Level playing field.
- 12:02All right.
- 12:02We're going to get into some
- 12:03pettiness now.
- 12:08I thought this was going to be over.
- 12:13The real question is,
- 12:15what are the temperatures like?
- 12:18Dude.
- 12:20The temperature could be anything.
- 12:22The saying here in Ohio is,
- 12:24if you don't like the weather,
- 12:26just wait ten minutes and it'll change.
- 12:30Right now, it has been moderately warm,
- 12:36no rain, and dry.
- 12:41So that is what it's been
- 12:42for a week or so.
- 12:46who people are here for the petty.
- 12:50Okay.
- 12:53Yes,
- 12:53just an easy seven K. No problem at all.
- 12:59Okay,
- 12:59so if most of you have been following
- 13:01the story,
- 13:04Hiller made a video about me
- 13:06and Lauren Khalil a few weeks back.
- 13:10Lauren and I have had a
- 13:11discussion since then.
- 13:13We talked it all out.
- 13:14But she has been on shows
- 13:17and the topic goes to that
- 13:21she said she had enhanced
- 13:23access and really didn't
- 13:26and that she couldn't read.
- 13:27She goes to Sylvan Learning
- 13:29Center and that she wasn't
- 13:33able to read her email that
- 13:35said she just had regular access.
- 13:38And that's fine.
- 13:40If that's her story, that's fine.
- 13:42But what's missing in all that is
- 13:44that my original statement
- 13:46was that karma finally came
- 13:48around because people were
- 13:50not treating each other
- 13:52with respect and dignity.
- 13:55And listen,
- 13:56you can come at me all you want,
- 13:58and I'm pretty laid back about it.
- 14:01I don't get upset.
- 14:02I don't say what you will about me.
- 14:06I'm all good.
- 14:09Mess with my family, we got a problem.
- 14:13And what happened was Lauren
- 14:15messed with my family.
- 14:17She messed with Cheryl.
- 14:18She messed with Jamie.
- 14:20She made them think that she
- 14:22had more access than we did.
- 14:25There was a shove involved.
- 14:27There was stuff like that to
- 14:29get interviews at the
- 14:32semifinals in twenty twenty three.
- 14:36I believe twenty twenty three.
- 14:40So.
- 14:42that was my karma thing my
- 14:45karma thing was that that
- 14:48finally the people that
- 14:51have been rude to others
- 14:53didn't get the access and
- 14:58we finally did and dang it
- 15:04that that point has been
- 15:05lost over the fact that she
- 15:09said that she couldn't read
- 15:12her email and now
- 15:13everybody's forgiving her
- 15:15so anyway on the I'm going
- 15:18to share a screen because I
- 15:22didn't like normally I
- 15:23would not share these
- 15:24comments with you all live
- 15:27on a podcast but they went
- 15:29in a direction that I just didn't like
- 15:32so I was listening to in the
- 15:34box office the two girls on
- 15:37thursday night on be
- 15:39friendly and they were
- 15:40talking about how it's all
- 15:43over and lauren actually
- 15:44did get some content and
- 15:46blah blah blah and so what
- 15:49I did is I simply wrote a
- 15:51comment and it's right here
- 15:54in the middle um here we go so
- 16:01I said about the Lauren video, Hiller did,
- 16:08was more than did she read
- 16:09the email correctly.
- 16:11Lauren was still extremely
- 16:13rude and mean to the female
- 16:14members of my team.
- 16:16She made them feel less than
- 16:18her and portrayed a story
- 16:20that she was entitled to
- 16:21more because the company she was with.
- 16:26And then I said,
- 16:27that is more icky than any
- 16:29Hiller video because they
- 16:31were dogging Hiller for the video.
- 16:35Then Caitlin comes in and says,
- 16:37quick question.
- 16:39Do you think what someone
- 16:40like Dents does publicly to
- 16:42thousands of people is any different?
- 16:47one this story had nothing
- 16:49to do with jenny from dense
- 16:51updates so where caitlyn's
- 16:54going is I don't and I do
- 16:56not understand so I said to
- 16:59her caitlyn I'm just
- 17:01pointing out that the
- 17:02original issue was me
- 17:03saying that people finally
- 17:05got karma with credentials
- 17:06at the games I did not
- 17:08mention names others did
- 17:09but now we are forgiving
- 17:11lauren because she couldn't
- 17:12read her reading is not why
- 17:14I said what I said
- 17:16was all I was pointing out.
- 17:17Just a major misdirection
- 17:19from the original story as
- 17:20someone who has scratched
- 17:21and clawed for everything
- 17:23for six years and been
- 17:24treated very poorly at times.
- 17:26I felt like there was
- 17:27finally a time for karma.
- 17:33Then Mesa jumps in and says,
- 17:37feel like this avoided the question hard.
- 17:40Where I responded,
- 17:41I felt like the question
- 17:42was diverting me away from
- 17:44the original point.
- 17:46And then Mesa called me a politician.
- 17:51Where I came back and said,
- 17:52the question wasn't
- 17:53relevant to the original story.
- 17:55Jenny has never been mean or
- 17:57rude to me or my team.
- 17:59Lauren was,
- 18:00and I was just setting the
- 18:01record straight.
- 18:04So why, I don't understand why...
- 18:07When you're arguing about a point,
- 18:09we have to bring in other
- 18:11people into this story that
- 18:13have nothing to do with it
- 18:15and change the argument to
- 18:16something else.
- 18:20Jenny has been nothing but
- 18:21kind to me and my team.
- 18:24Why do I need to get into a
- 18:25fight about Jenny?
- 18:28That's not what this was about.
- 18:31This was about someone being
- 18:33rude to the female members of my team.
- 18:37And getting access above
- 18:42what I had when we had the same accesses.
- 18:47That's all it was about.
- 18:48And they're trying to bring
- 18:49in Hiller and Jenny and all
- 18:52these other people about
- 18:53what's going on to divert
- 18:55you away from the original
- 18:57story of what happened.
- 19:05This was about Lauren and
- 19:06others being rude to my team.
- 19:11Not Jenny.
- 19:18Linda, don't mess with Scott's team.
- 19:20Love it.
- 19:21Honestly, like, come at me all you want.
- 19:23I can take it.
- 19:25Don't mess with my family.
- 19:35The Clydesdale Army will not
- 19:37stand for that.
- 19:43So anyway,
- 19:51and they're trying to justify
- 19:52the original point.
- 19:53I think you're right.
- 19:54Train olive.
- 19:56It sucks.
- 19:58I didn't.
- 20:02All I said originally was karma.
- 20:04Finally bit people in the
- 20:06ass where it needed to.
- 20:07That was it.
- 20:09And now they're trying to
- 20:10bring this into everybody
- 20:11else in space that they
- 20:13don't get along with.
- 20:20I just hate it.
- 20:25Jess was in Orlando when this all began.
- 20:31And I don't know if she wants to jump in.
- 20:34But Lauren was rude to Cheryl and Jamie.
- 20:39And where did Lauren say she
- 20:45couldn't read?
- 20:46She said it on the Talking
- 20:48Elite Fitness podcast.
- 20:50She said it on the podcast
- 20:52with Caitlin and Mesa that
- 20:55she misread her email,
- 20:57thought she had enhanced
- 20:58access when she didn't.
- 21:01that's what everything got
- 21:02diverted to and not the
- 21:03original issue um does
- 21:15anyone actually watch that
- 21:16show I guess besides you I
- 21:18tried out of boredom and
- 21:19just couldn't do it so I
- 21:23don't I don't know what
- 21:23their numbers are um I try
- 21:26to give everybody a chance
- 21:28I think everybody deserves a voice
- 21:32If you listen to my first ten shows,
- 21:34they are probably god-awful.
- 21:36But I didn't have any viewers back then.
- 21:39I had like ten people watching back then.
- 21:47So I got to experience all
- 21:52of this stuff organically
- 21:55in a slow pace where I
- 21:57could get better at what I
- 21:59did before people actually saw me.
- 22:03They jumped on to Be Friendly Fitness,
- 22:05which is great for them,
- 22:07but you're going to have
- 22:07more eyes on you right off the bat.
- 22:10And you've got to get better pretty fast.
- 22:16So I've been giving them,
- 22:17I don't listen to every episode.
- 22:19I listen to them
- 22:20periodically because if they get better,
- 22:23maybe they bring something
- 22:24to the table that I'm
- 22:24missing with other podcasts.
- 22:35CrossFit Mesa said,
- 22:37CrossFitters don't do one rep maxes.
- 22:39I'm out.
- 22:44they say things that I don't
- 22:45necessarily agree with, but that's okay.
- 22:48It's okay to not agree with things.
- 22:51I'm just trying to give them
- 22:52the benefit of the doubt as
- 22:53they're growing and maybe getting better.
- 22:56But,
- 23:00but when you're coming at me or that
- 23:02you're, you're missing the original point,
- 23:04I don't, I had to defend my people.
- 23:14so has bee friendly grown or
- 23:19lost followers I'm a I I I
- 23:22don't really track the
- 23:23numbers when I first
- 23:25started doing podcasts this
- 23:27podcast I was so obsessed
- 23:29with the numbers now I just
- 23:31I I don't even pay attention to them um
- 23:48Kate solid Mesa gives me a fight,
- 23:50know it all.
- 23:51And then says, I program, I know this.
- 23:56I wish they would.
- 24:00I wish they would give more
- 24:02facts behind their opinions,
- 24:06but they're entitled to their opinion.
- 24:08I just wish it had more fact
- 24:09based behind it.
- 24:12And we'll see.
- 24:20I give them credit,
- 24:20the live chat while they're on,
- 24:22as people just, they're hating on them.
- 24:25Again, I'm trying to give them a chance.
- 24:30I've gone back and listened
- 24:31to probably two-thirds of their stuff.
- 24:39Not everything I like, but...
- 24:41is out there,
- 24:41but I try to listen to it to
- 24:43get differing perspectives,
- 24:45differing opinions, um,
- 24:47that just make my overall
- 24:49take on things more
- 24:51complete and gives me
- 24:54fodder for like how I would
- 24:55argue that point, things like that.
- 25:00So that's what I,
- 25:04that's why I listened to different stuff.
- 25:16Jake at the Bay show
- 25:18question out of an average
- 25:19hour of live media content.
- 25:21How many minutes are
- 25:22actually dedicated to the
- 25:23actual CrossFit and
- 25:24affiliate away from
- 25:26political nonsense and games chat?
- 25:35Probably not enough, but when you do this,
- 25:42When you do this daily,
- 25:45you have to come up with
- 25:46things that peak an
- 25:49interest in people in the
- 25:50chat to bring back with more comments.
- 25:54That's what this show is.
- 25:55This is a hangout show.
- 25:59I'm a moderator of a hangout
- 26:02where I just bring up
- 26:03topics and we just banter back and forth.
- 26:09And that's how I kind of view this show.
- 26:15Um, there we go.
- 26:16Uh, draw your dagger.
- 26:17I took like a six to nine
- 26:19month break from all things.
- 26:20CrossFit media coming back
- 26:22into has been interesting.
- 26:24Yeah.
- 26:25You took a weird six to nine months off,
- 26:28probably the craziest six
- 26:30to nine months in my
- 26:32history of doing content.
- 26:40Uh, uh,
- 26:41Jamie and Carolyn are great
- 26:43on Sunday shows.
- 26:44They are.
- 26:47They're just great overall.
- 26:49They're great human beings.
- 26:57I think I'm in that, Jake.
- 26:59I think we probably do more
- 27:01games talk than anything else.
- 27:03But like I led the show off
- 27:04with the new marketing
- 27:05campaign and how CrossFit
- 27:08was great at communicating that,
- 27:11delivering assets.
- 27:13But I'm probably way more
- 27:16games talk than I am
- 27:18affiliate talk for sure.
- 27:28I agree.
- 27:28Everyone should get out of
- 27:29their echo chambers.
- 27:32And it makes me uncomfortable, probably.
- 27:34It does make me
- 27:34uncomfortable to go listen
- 27:36to other people's with
- 27:38different opinions.
- 27:39But they have the right to
- 27:41convince me otherwise of my opinion.
- 27:53This is why people talk
- 27:54about what people talk
- 27:56about while doing their
- 27:56back squat sets at the
- 27:58beginning of a class.
- 28:00I think that's dead on Jenny that on.
- 28:06think that that's what I'm
- 28:07trying to do here this is a
- 28:09hangout show when when
- 28:11you're sitting around the
- 28:11rig and you're you're doing
- 28:14your lifts and you're
- 28:14talking to your buddies
- 28:16that's what I'm trying to
- 28:18accomplish with this show
- 28:20it's just really wild
- 28:22trying to come up with uh
- 28:26topics every day uh to do that so
- 28:43I miss seeing cat.
- 28:45It says train all of, I do too.
- 28:47But cat's got bigger things
- 28:49in our life going on right now.
- 28:51Yeah.
- 28:54And I'll let her tell those stories.
- 28:56Uh,
- 28:57but she's got a lot going on and she
- 28:59doesn't, she doesn't,
- 29:00she's not out off of our
- 29:01team by any stretch.
- 29:03Uh, when she's ready to come back,
- 29:04she'll come back.
- 29:05Um,
- 29:06but she's got bigger things in her life
- 29:09right now that she has to
- 29:10take care of rather than
- 29:12talk on a microphone.
- 29:17Uh, David Johnson.
- 29:18I spend most of my time
- 29:19trash talking and trying to
- 29:21get people to do some sort
- 29:22of nonsense with me.
- 29:24Yeah.
- 29:33Jake, we all have a place in space.
- 29:36I was asking for research purposes.
- 29:39I think what happens is that
- 29:48the numbers impact what we do.
- 29:51And it's really hard to stay
- 29:53true to what you want to be
- 29:55when you see the numbers go
- 29:57up when you talk about different things.
- 29:59It's really, really hard.
- 30:03That's why I try to ignore the numbers.
- 30:05The numbers have just been
- 30:06insane over the last month
- 30:11and a half for me since
- 30:13Hiller put out that video.
- 30:17Like we have gone up nearly
- 30:20six hundred subscribers.
- 30:22We have doubled watch time.
- 30:24It's just been a crazy, crazy six weeks.
- 30:28And I'm just trying to hone
- 30:31in on what is important to me.
- 30:35So and I saw Rosie say or
- 30:38just say that she made a comment that.
- 30:44about what we talked about in Orlando.
- 30:47I did feel like though,
- 30:49like we weren't good enough
- 30:51to be out there,
- 30:51but everyone in media
- 30:53deserves to have access.
- 30:54We are all trying to do the same job,
- 30:57right?
- 31:05All right.
- 31:15This is when I'm warming up kind of show.
- 31:17There you go, Jay Birch.
- 31:23I miss Kat's dating show.
- 31:24I do too.
- 31:25I thought it was great.
- 31:27I thought she did a great job with that,
- 31:29but now she's not dating.
- 31:31So I don't know where she goes with that.
- 31:40So we'll see where she goes
- 31:42with that anyway.
- 31:49There's a mud chucking
- 31:49element to those box ladies.
- 31:51It comes both ways,
- 31:53but the vibe was sort of
- 31:54set by their first episode.
- 32:00I don't disagree.
- 32:01And like I said, I just,
- 32:03I try to watch every, because again,
- 32:07thank God nobody's
- 32:08listening to my first ten episodes.
- 32:10And I only had like my mom
- 32:12listening and Amy's dad listening.
- 32:16We were terrible.
- 32:17We were terrible in our
- 32:18first ten episodes.
- 32:20But we did it in silence
- 32:21because nobody was watching.
- 32:25And it allowed us to get
- 32:26better before people saw us.
- 32:34Kipping it real,
- 32:35I like their podcast
- 32:37because it's fun to get angry and argue.
- 32:40I don't mind them.
- 32:41I just disagree with everything they say.
- 32:45Well,
- 32:45and it gives you fodder for your channel.
- 32:55Very true.
- 32:55My profession is a coach,
- 32:57and my priority is just that.
- 32:59I get to host a show where I
- 33:01get to speak to people about affiliates.
- 33:03It's an insane opportunity.
- 33:05Many are bored, but that's okay.
- 33:09Right,
- 33:09and I love that you stay true to that.
- 33:12I love that you stay true to that.
- 33:17So many people are tempted by other stuff.
- 33:22Trained Olive,
- 33:23we need Kat's relationship show next.
- 33:26There you go.
- 33:41have to say lauren khalil
- 33:42does some seller interviews
- 33:43quite often sometimes
- 33:44journalists develop
- 33:45slightly nasty elbows
- 33:51here's my thing uh-huh and
- 33:54that is that lauren and I
- 33:56were at morning chalk up at
- 33:57the same time lauren and I
- 33:59were both treated very
- 34:02poorly while we were at the
- 34:04morning chalk up at that
- 34:05moment we became very good friends
- 34:10What's been disappointing to
- 34:12me is as she got more
- 34:14popular and then got with
- 34:16Talking Elite Fitness,
- 34:18then she started doing the
- 34:19same types of things that
- 34:22we were complaining about
- 34:23at Morning Chalk Up.
- 34:25That's why it probably hits
- 34:26me harder than others
- 34:31because we had this common misery and
- 34:34that we bonded over.
- 34:37And then as she got better,
- 34:39she kind of forgot about
- 34:40having to clear that hurdle herself.
- 34:43And that's, what's been disappointing.
- 34:47And I told her that I've
- 34:48told her all of this in a
- 34:51DM directly to her.
- 35:13I'm missing something here.
- 35:23What are your thoughts on
- 35:24media people covering
- 35:25athletes that they didn't
- 35:26get credentials for?
- 35:31Yeah, I need them.
- 35:33I need more information
- 35:35covering them inside the
- 35:36ropes or covering them outside the ropes.
- 36:03I will say Lauren was
- 36:04straight hustling on the
- 36:05street corner literally she
- 36:06was every time I walked
- 36:08past her she was interviewing somebody.
- 36:13And she was completely
- 36:14outside the venue in
- 36:16between the two buildings
- 36:17just nailing interview after interview.
- 36:33Scott, I didn't know you were at MCU.
- 36:36It was such a short amount of time,
- 36:37Jonathan, that most people don't.
- 36:46I've shown clips from it
- 36:47from my time there.
- 36:48Kat and I were both there.
- 36:50We made an offer to LaFranco
- 36:55to take over their...
- 36:58uh bottom line show and
- 37:00their youtube channel and
- 37:02that's why uh and then I
- 37:06don't know it I've talked
- 37:08about it a lot of times it
- 37:10just didn't go well uh and
- 37:12then I made it to the games
- 37:14that year with them they
- 37:16lost a bunch of my
- 37:17interviews and then I just
- 37:18quit and started my own company
- 37:36Wow.
- 37:39Okay, I'm gonna have to skip ahead anyway.
- 37:44So that's that.
- 37:46The other thing is,
- 37:47I got a lot of comments
- 37:48about talking about spread
- 37:50getting screwed yesterday.
- 37:52And that
- 37:54It's an invitational,
- 37:55and they can invite whoever they want.
- 37:57I said yesterday it was an invitational,
- 38:00and Tier could invite whoever they want.
- 38:02But again,
- 38:03this is a talk show where we
- 38:04just hang out, shoot the shit.
- 38:07And so I just presented the
- 38:08idea that James actually
- 38:10has a better resume than
- 38:13the other members of that team.
- 38:16He has a better resume than...
- 38:20than hopper pepper and
- 38:23madaris right now in the
- 38:24last two years better
- 38:28finishes more wins it's
- 38:32insane but I know that tier
- 38:36can invite whoever they
- 38:37want I get that fact but it
- 38:40doesn't make for a good talk show
- 39:04Isn't this similar to Rogue, though?
- 39:05They can invite who they want.
- 39:07I get that.
- 39:08I totally get it.
- 39:10I get they can do that.
- 39:12But that does not make for
- 39:14good talk show material.
- 39:17If I'm stacking up resumes right now,
- 39:20James is in the lead of the
- 39:23people in the North American region.
- 39:26That's all I'm saying.
- 39:28But I get that they can
- 39:30invite whoever they want.
- 39:32If they don't want James on the team,
- 39:34they don't have to invite him.
- 39:36That is their prerogative.
- 39:37It is their event.
- 39:38It is their show.
- 39:40I get all that.
- 39:41But I'm just saying, stacking resumes,
- 39:46James should have been the
- 39:47number one pick.
- 39:55So...
- 40:01It's more than Pat.
- 40:03James has a better resume
- 40:04than Hopper and Pepper.
- 40:07James has finished higher
- 40:08than Dallin Pepper in the last two games,
- 40:11and he won Wadapalooza.
- 40:21And he took second at WFP,
- 40:22if you want to count that.
- 40:31team north america is going
- 40:32to get spanked I'm not
- 40:33happy about it I don't even
- 40:36think we have the final for
- 40:37team north america because
- 40:39I'm I don't think alex is
- 40:42going to compete she needs
- 40:44to rest up that leg and get
- 40:46it healed for the final
- 40:48tour stop of wfp and they
- 40:51want her ready for next season
- 41:01so uh there's that I think
- 41:11alex is going to withdraw
- 41:13from this event alexis if
- 41:17her back is healed will
- 41:19probably do it but I think
- 41:21alex will and maybe alexis
- 41:24too you might be right
- 41:25cross fat all right
- 41:31I did want to talk about
- 41:32Dave's Week in Review real quick.
- 41:34I thought there were a couple good points.
- 41:36Someone brought up that the
- 41:39Masters got no promotion at
- 41:42the elite CrossFit Games,
- 41:44and I thought that that was
- 41:46a big miss on CrossFit's part.
- 41:49You have plenty of airtime.
- 41:50You have millions of viewers.
- 41:52It would have been really a
- 41:54cool synergy to have the
- 41:56age group and adaptive
- 41:57athletes featured in some
- 42:00kind of way in promoting
- 42:01their upcoming events.
- 42:03I think that was a big miss.
- 42:06If I'm going to give them
- 42:07all the kudos for the other
- 42:09stuff the media team has been doing,
- 42:11that has been a huge miss.
- 42:14Huge miss.
- 42:16Um...
- 42:24I thought it was interesting
- 42:25that he saw the Wells
- 42:27sisters at the airport and
- 42:29Will Morad and then just
- 42:31kind of glossed over it.
- 42:34Said he saw Sidney and
- 42:35Brooke and Will at the
- 42:37airport and then glossed
- 42:38right over that and kept moving.
- 42:41I thought that was an interesting mention.
- 42:46Um, he did say the thirty,
- 42:49the thirty size field was
- 42:52pretty right on.
- 42:54Don't write it in the book yet,
- 42:56but probably going to be here to stay.
- 43:02Um,
- 43:04I will tell you that the programming of
- 43:08the Masters CrossFit Games,
- 43:11I went into a meeting
- 43:12yesterday for an hour and
- 43:14I came out and Carolyn and Jamie,
- 43:17there were forty eight
- 43:18messages on my phone back
- 43:20and forth about their
- 43:22thoughts on what's been
- 43:23released for the master's
- 43:24programming and how crazy that is.
- 43:31I don't know.
- 43:36I don't know if.
- 43:40these that programming for
- 43:42the masters games is going
- 43:43to find the fittest.
- 43:45I think if they look at it as their event,
- 43:47they want to program it
- 43:48like they would like.
- 43:49And I don't think that they
- 43:51are programming it to find
- 43:53the fittest on earth.
- 43:54And that there are people
- 43:55that take this very
- 43:56seriously and want to win.
- 43:57The two women on my show on Sunday night,
- 44:00don't want to just show up.
- 44:02They're there to win.
- 44:04And it means a lot to them.
- 44:12Masters programming is all
- 44:13fairly quick workouts in a
- 44:15similar time domain.
- 44:16That is right.
- 44:20That is right.
- 44:28Chris,
- 44:28we talked about this briefly that I
- 44:31don't know anything about
- 44:32that at this point.
- 44:36I'm going to look into it a
- 44:36little bit more.
- 44:42Our eMasters programming, I agree, Megan.
- 44:45Yes, it is.
- 44:52There are people there that want to win.
- 44:54There are people there that
- 44:55are ultra competitive,
- 44:57and they deserve to get
- 44:58that chance as the best in the world.
- 45:02There are also people there
- 45:03that are happy to be there.
- 45:04We shouldn't be programming
- 45:06for the people happy to be there.
- 45:09Just like everything else in CrossFit,
- 45:11you program for the best
- 45:13and then you scale for the rest.
- 45:15This should be to find the
- 45:17fittest on earth in each age group.
- 45:29Shanna,
- 45:29some Masters athletes work just as
- 45:32hard as the elites.
- 45:33Amen, sister.
- 45:38Age group CrossFit Games
- 45:39should have its own social.
- 45:43I think it's bizarre that
- 45:44all of the events are
- 45:45released on Legends and not
- 45:47on the CrossFit Games site.
- 45:50Yes, you let somebody else take over,
- 45:53but it doesn't mean that
- 45:55it's not a part of the CrossFit Games.
- 45:58And the further we're
- 46:00getting away from that split,
- 46:02the more it appears that HQ
- 46:04is looking at that as no
- 46:06longer part of the games.
- 46:09It is the age group CrossFit games.
- 46:12It is just as elite as the
- 46:13elite for each age group
- 46:16that they represent.
- 46:26Age group CrossFit games
- 46:27should have its own IG page.
- 46:28Legends trying to do both of
- 46:30their comps on the page is confusing.
- 46:32I've heard that too.
- 46:34There's,
- 46:34there were workouts out there for
- 46:36the qualifier and workouts
- 46:38out there for the games.
- 46:44It's an, it's, it is very, very confused,
- 46:47confusing.
- 46:52We're going to get into a lot more detail,
- 46:54Shanna, about the programming.
- 46:59I will tell you that my
- 47:00co-hosts believe that no
- 47:04woman being involved in the
- 47:06programming is a big miss
- 47:08and that these are written
- 47:10for men and they are scaled
- 47:12improperly for the women.
- 47:16They also believe that the
- 47:18programming at the higher levels,
- 47:21the sixty, sixty five,
- 47:23seventy plus are very,
- 47:25very skewed in a bad and poor direction.
- 47:31And so they would like to
- 47:34see more done there and
- 47:36probably more will be
- 47:37changed by the time we get there.
- 47:40But that's.
- 47:41That's a little bit weird as well.
- 47:56Shanna,
- 47:57I offered to test for them this year.
- 47:58They declined.
- 48:02Very obvious no proper testing was done.
- 48:07Programming gets diluted due
- 48:08to the number of athletes,
- 48:09but if you criticize it,
- 48:11you're being negative and
- 48:12not grateful for the opportunity.
- 48:18Also,
- 48:19I didn't know this was a Bob and Joe
- 48:20games.
- 48:30How about the portion of the
- 48:31Sunday show is them
- 48:32tweaking the workouts to
- 48:33what they think they should be?
- 48:38I will bring that up to them,
- 48:39but I don't want to put
- 48:40them in that position
- 48:42knowing they have to
- 48:42compete in a week after
- 48:45Sunday at the games that
- 48:50they just criticized.
- 48:54I hope that makes sense.
- 49:08They will be adding a
- 49:08hundred meters to the runs.
- 49:14Again, I am not a programming expert.
- 49:16I leave it up to the women I
- 49:18hang out with.
- 49:19They seem to know much more than I do.
- 49:21But yeah.
- 49:27Well, anyway.
- 49:27Anyway.
- 49:29have lots to talk about the
- 49:30rest of the week I we were
- 49:32just getting started on the
- 49:33comment section uh we're
- 49:35just getting started on all
- 49:37the other stuff um I wrote
