- 3:16Speaker 1: be so sore. It hurts so bad.

- 4:34Speaker 2: What do you think, Oh, keep it a secret.
- 4:37Speaker 1: No, I think we should because the box is like

- 4:41Speaker 1: and like everything that's arriving, I'm like, can I have that?
- 4:45Speaker 2: There are some epic things going in it. So if
- 4:48Speaker 2: you don't know this Wicked Box giveaway, we're going to
- 4:51Speaker 2: be doing a trivia sort of thing. That's kind of
- 4:53Speaker 2: why we're warming up this trivia right, So it's going
- 4:56Speaker 2: to be kind of a trivia kind of like a
- 4:57Speaker 2: treasure hunt sort of situation, dropping hints over on this podcast,
- 5:02Speaker 2: on our social media on where you can go for
- 5:04Speaker 2: your next clue to find everything, the next hint, the
- 5:07Speaker 2: next step, and the person who gets down the rabbit

- 5:12Speaker 2: figure and solve it all will win the Wicked Box,
- 5:14Speaker 2: only one to give away, so my gosh.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And it's it's honestly like, put some effort in because
- 5:20Speaker 1: it's very cool.
- 5:21Speaker 2: It's gonna be awesome, very cool. But don't jump the
- 5:24Speaker 2: gun just yet because we haven't started, so.
- 5:26Speaker 1: We will let you get Yeah, we're still waiting for
- 5:28Speaker 1: a couple of items too, so but the ones that
- 5:30Speaker 1: are coming in, I'm just like, oh my gosh, this
- 5:32Speaker 1: is so cool.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking forward to to seeing someone's reaction when
- 5:36Speaker 2: they win this.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Oh my goshpe Yeah, because I mean, contents are pretty cool,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but they're not always like the winnings are just sometimes
- 5:43Speaker 1: meh or whatever. But this is like get excited.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah, hand picked cool stuff by us, and we're trying
- 5:48Speaker 2: to stick to like handmade stuff like on Etsy some things.
- 5:52Speaker 2: We're purchasing that sort of stuff. It's not just like
- 5:55Speaker 2: mass produced items.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Okay. So something else I wanted to say, which is
- 5:59Speaker 1: like an amazing stay here is the wedding. I don't
- 6:02Speaker 1: think I told you this yet, but the wedding I
- 6:04Speaker 1: photographed over the weekend. The maid of honor, she was
- 6:07Speaker 1: also the sister of the bride, did a speech at
- 6:10Speaker 1: the reception, you know, as they often do, and she
- 6:13Speaker 1: closed it off by asking the bride and groom to
- 6:17Speaker 1: look at each other. So in my head I was like, okay,
- 6:19Speaker 1: like she's going to say something sweet or sappy or whatever, right, yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and she said, you are now looking at the person
- 6:26Speaker 1: most statistically likely to murder you. Yeah, And I was like,
- 6:30Speaker 1: oh my gosh, yes, is so epic.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I've seen that on TikTok before. Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so I mean it's unfortunately true, it is. But
- 6:38Speaker 1: I was like, I mean, I've shot a lot of
- 6:40Speaker 1: weddings and I haven't seen that in a speech myself,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and I thought it was pretty good.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I'm glad you said weddings, not ex husbands. Yes, I've
- 6:48Speaker 2: shot a lot of ex husbands.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I have not done that.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Well, hopefully we keep it that way.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm not sure that you could do anything bad
- 6:59Speaker 1: enough that I'd have the desire to murder you.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't comprehend that need for someone to actually
- 7:06Speaker 2: take another life like that. That's pretty extreme.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But even like someone even if if, like I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 1: for something that that to happen, there has to be
- 7:15Speaker 1: something going on in the marriage, like there just has
- 7:17Speaker 1: to be. But I mean, you did, you would have
- 7:19Speaker 1: loved that person at some point in time. So it's like,
- 7:22Speaker 1: I just can't bath them that you get to that
- 7:24Speaker 1: extent where you're like plot in their murder. Yeah, I
- 7:28Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Well, I know, like some people, it's like an insurance thing.
- 7:32Speaker 2: So it's even if.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Okay, like money, money, money is evil.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But that's the thing. It's say, Okay, like you said,
- 7:38Speaker 2: you at least loved them at some point, So at
- 7:41Speaker 2: what point did money become more valuable than that connection? Oh?
- 7:45Speaker 1: Man, I mean there's quite a few things I want
- 7:48Speaker 1: in this life that money would buy me, but I'd
- 7:51Speaker 1: rather you be part of it, so you're safe for.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Now, for now, knock on wood that that lasts a
- 7:57Speaker 2: little longer than just for now.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh my, okay. So this brings us to talking about
- 8:02Speaker 1: Melanie and William, or Bill as i'll refer to him, maguire.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's similar to the Lacy and Scott Peterson case in
- 8:10Speaker 1: that there's people who believe this boast did it and
- 8:13Speaker 1: people who don't. But we form our own opinions around here,
- 8:17Speaker 1: So we'll dive into the facts and see where we land.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Sounds goods good, Okay, here we go. We're starting off
- 8:25Speaker 1: the story in April of two thousand and four. At
- 8:28Speaker 1: this time, Melanie and Bill had been married for five
- 8:32Speaker 1: years and they had two sons. Melanie was a nurse
- 8:36Speaker 1: at a fertility clinic and Bill was teaching computer science
- 8:40Speaker 1: at a technical college. Bill's sister described the couple as
- 8:45Speaker 1: the perfect match from day one. They were equals and
- 8:50Speaker 1: they both wanted the same things out of life. So
- 8:53Speaker 1: that sounds like a pretty darn.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Good match, Yeah, you would think.
- 8:57Speaker 1: On April twenty eight, two thousand and four, the couple,
- 9:00Speaker 1: who were living in an apartment in Woodridge, Woodbridge, New Jersey,
- 9:05Speaker 1: closed on a four hundred and fifty thousand house in
- 9:08Speaker 1: Warren County.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Four hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Yeah, okay, yeah, that's
- 9:12Speaker 2: a good price. What year did you say?
- 9:14Speaker 1: This was two thousand and four.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Wow, that's an expensive home for two thousand four.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I actually didn't look to see like what kind of
- 9:20Speaker 1: home it is, so who knows. Maybe it was grand.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It could have been. I mean, maybe it's the upscale
- 9:26Speaker 2: neighborhood or something. I don't know that neighborhood.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But there was a photo actually thrown in there in
- 9:31Speaker 1: a dock that I watched, but I'm not even certain
- 9:34Speaker 1: if that was like the exact house. But the one
- 9:36Speaker 1: that they threw in there was like pretty grand, so
- 9:37Speaker 1: I'm not certain.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Well that's almost half million dollars for like a long
- 9:42Speaker 2: time before everything skyrocketed here.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah, So Bill was a static that evening. He called
- 9:50Speaker 1: the gas company to transfer their account, which I think
- 9:53Speaker 1: is like adorable. That's like the first thing that you do.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I don't know what I think is think that is
- 9:57Speaker 1: just like so some serious excitement. So he transferred their
- 10:01Speaker 1: account to their new house, and he also called two
- 10:04Speaker 1: good friends to tell them the good news. But around
- 10:07Speaker 1: six' ten that evening would be the last time anyone
- 10:12Speaker 1: would hear From. Bill oh. Shit he seemed to go,
- 10:15Speaker 1: silent which was very unusual for. Him he was someone
- 10:18Speaker 1: that seemed like they promptly responded to. People he even
- 10:22Speaker 1: missed a call from the cellar of the, house who
- 10:25Speaker 1: he'd normally respond to very, quickly but that call never got.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Returned, wow, okay that's suspicious as. Well like they didn't
- 10:35Speaker 2: even move in.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yet, no like they literally just signed they were in their. Apartment,
- 10:39Speaker 1: yep the couple would never move into that new, home
- 10:45Speaker 1: according To. Melanie the night after closing on their new,
- 10:49Speaker 1: home the couple got into an, argument an argument that
- 10:53Speaker 1: Convinced melanie she needed to leave the. Relationship you, see
- 10:58Speaker 1: it wasn't all sunshine and rainbow in the couple's. Marriage
- 11:01Speaker 1: after the birth of the couple's second, son they had
- 11:05Speaker 1: started to grow, apart With melanie Claiming bill had a
- 11:08Speaker 1: gambling problem and was becoming increasingly erratic and even vi
- 11:14Speaker 1: voltle towards.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Her oh.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Dang but the night Of april twenty eighth or the
- 11:19Speaker 1: early morning Of april twenty, Ninth melanie claimed their argument
- 11:23Speaker 1: was over a dryer. Sheet a dryer, sheet which seems,
- 11:27Speaker 1: funny BUT i feel like when communication is at a,
- 11:30Speaker 1: whack arguments get like very interesting and it honestly does
- 11:34Speaker 1: not take much to be.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Fair we've argued over some really stupid, shit.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Probably actually dryer sheets as, well BECAUSE i do not
- 11:41Speaker 1: like dryer. Sheets, yeah we don't use. Them i'm, like,
- 11:45Speaker 1: NO i like.
- 11:45Speaker 2: THEM i, mean, yeah sure they're full like chemicals and,
- 11:48Speaker 2: stuff but they make your clothes now.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Nice we just put our clothes in the dryer with
- 11:53Speaker 1: nothing it can you can do? That, people you?
- 11:55Speaker 2: Can you can.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Been so, SAD i Guess i've won this. Argument, eh dryer, sheets,
- 12:02Speaker 1: okay so. Barely.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Bill this is what marriage, Is ladies and. Gentlemen you
- 12:06Speaker 2: do or do not get dryer.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Shit that's one or the. Other bill hated dryer, sheets
- 12:10Speaker 1: AND i didn't stick this in. There but one thing
- 12:13Speaker 1: he had they had, said is BECAUSE i think he
- 12:16Speaker 1: it wasn't necessarily he didn't like dryer, sheets but he
- 12:18Speaker 1: thought that they were like lazy and you should just
- 12:20Speaker 1: put like fabric softener in the.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Wash, OH i already hate.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Him was kind of the. Thing But melanie continued to use,
- 12:27Speaker 1: them And melanie claimed that particular, Night bill slammed her
- 12:31Speaker 1: against the, doorway shoved a dryer sheet in her, mouth
- 12:35Speaker 1: and slapped her across the.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Face, okay, okay that's not.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Cool that's like a bit.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Aggressive this dude can suck a big old d if
- 12:42Speaker 2: he's doing that.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Shit one of their kids were witnessed to, this which
- 12:47Speaker 1: is very, unfortunate So, Melie melanie said she grabbed her
- 12:50Speaker 1: kid and locked herself in the bathroom with. Him she
- 12:53Speaker 1: could Hear bill rummaging through the apartment packing a, bag
- 12:57Speaker 1: saying she'd never see him again before stormed. Out melanie
- 13:02Speaker 1: would file for a restraining order two days, later in
- 13:05Speaker 1: Fear bill would pick up their children and take them
- 13:08Speaker 1: off with. Him don't But bill never tried to Contact,
- 13:14Speaker 1: melanie their, kids or anyone else for that. Matter he
- 13:19Speaker 1: had simply.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Vanished how old was the kid who witnessed?
- 13:23Speaker 1: THIS i think he was only?
- 13:24Speaker 2: Two Little yeah never?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Mind, yeah, oh because you're, thinking like possible witness or,
- 13:31Speaker 1: something but, yeah there's like no way for a two
- 13:33Speaker 1: year all. DAY i don't think, So, no be sure
- 13:35Speaker 1: it was the younger, one.
- 13:36Speaker 2: And even, still, LIKE i don't think they would be
- 13:38Speaker 2: knowing what's even going. On, really.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Mummy was like, upset, yeah which is kind of.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Breaking it could literally be that mummy stubbed her toe
- 13:49Speaker 2: and was, crying and the kid could be upset and misconstrue.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That right totally.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah or it could be That daddy was literally trying
- 13:57Speaker 2: to kill mummy and they he thought they were. Playing,
- 14:00Speaker 2: yeah a two year old's not necessarily going to.
- 14:02Speaker 1: KNOW i, know they're so innocent peer unless they're terrible, too.
- 14:06Speaker 1: IS i guess some parents would be, like they're not
- 14:08Speaker 1: miss that's.
- 14:09Speaker 2: True i've heard some horror. Stories.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah so days turned into, weeks And bill's sister questioned
- 14:16Speaker 1: Why melanie hadn't filed a missing person's, report But melanie
- 14:20Speaker 1: felt this wasn't particularly out of character For bill to
- 14:24Speaker 1: have a tantrum and be, gone that he was in
- 14:27Speaker 1: a habit of saying things that angered, people and that
- 14:31Speaker 1: he frequently gambled In Atlantic. City three and a half weeks,
- 14:35Speaker 1: Later melanie filed for divorce, shit WHICH i do feel
- 14:40Speaker 1: like is like, wow kind of a, Wow like your
- 14:44Speaker 1: husband is missing and you literally like just bought a house.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Together, Yeah and it's so strangely that he was like
- 14:52Speaker 2: so excited in calling people in about the house and
- 14:54Speaker 2: then just.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Leaves well they got in a big.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Argument, yeah but, Okay devil's advocate. Here, okay if you
- 15:05Speaker 2: AND i are in a giant argument to the degree
- 15:08Speaker 2: that one of us is storming out or something and
- 15:12Speaker 2: not coming back to the, house where's the first place
- 15:16Speaker 2: you would?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Go?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Me, YEAH i know the first PLACE i would go
- 15:22Speaker 2: the fucking house we just.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Bought, yeah BUT i don't like they signed the. Papers
- 15:26Speaker 1: they probably don't have it, yet, RIGHT i don't think
- 15:28Speaker 1: it's probably turned over to. Them. Yeah generally when you
- 15:31Speaker 1: sign the, papers you got to wait to bet, Right,
- 15:33Speaker 1: YEAH i. Guess SO i was, Like i'll go to my. Studio,
- 15:38Speaker 1: NO i. WAS i was intrigued to know where the
- 15:40Speaker 1: hell you.
- 15:41Speaker 2: GO i was thinking the other house they had in their,
- 15:43Speaker 2: Possession but, yeah the other occupants are still moving out
- 15:46Speaker 2: or you're get the key date or whatever it's called possession,
- 15:49Speaker 2: date there you. Go, Yeah, yeah that's that's a.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Factor so As melanie was filing for, divorce it's all
- 15:57Speaker 1: about to make sense here for. You virginia police had
- 16:01Speaker 1: a very grim situation on their hands that was that
- 16:05Speaker 1: would massively change the trajectory of this, Story three separate
- 16:11Speaker 1: dark Green Kenneth cole suitcase suitcases have been discovered around
- 16:17Speaker 1: The Chesapeake. BAY i Think i'm saying that.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Right it nailed.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It and a side, note WHEN i was like around that,
- 16:24Speaker 1: TIME i Thought Kenneth cole was like the. SHIT i
- 16:27Speaker 1: don't know if you remember, that BUT i THINK i
- 16:28Speaker 1: had like purses or wallets AND i was, like this
- 16:30Speaker 1: is the.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Ship, YES i remember. That and also side side, note
- 16:34Speaker 2: you Practicing chesapeake like for ten minutes before we aired
- 16:37Speaker 2: this pot or before we record this.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Pot. Oh, yeah AND i literally go to the next
- 16:40Speaker 1: level where it's like you can actually practice In.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Google, yeah you Get google To.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Chesapeake i'm not sure IF i nailed, it BUT i
- 16:46Speaker 1: think you.
- 16:46Speaker 2: DID i was Close.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Chesapeake, Okay so the first suitcase was discovered On may.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Fifth the police department got a call from a fisherman
- 16:58Speaker 1: stating that he had found a suit floating in the.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Bay once, opened the contents of the bags were within
- 17:05Speaker 1: a black trash, bag and within that black trash bag
- 17:09Speaker 1: was a pair of human legs cut from the knees. Down,
- 17:13Speaker 1: shit basically your shins and your.
- 17:15Speaker 2: FEET i GUESS i Found dexter's dumping.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Ground, OKAY i do have a. Question so if you
- 17:21Speaker 1: were like AT c and you found and there was
- 17:24Speaker 1: just like a suitcase, floating, yes would you bring it
- 17:27Speaker 1: onto the?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Boat?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yes would you open it? Up? Yes because what you
- 17:32Speaker 1: think maybe there's money or something cool in? There?
- 17:35Speaker 2: No BECAUSE i would, think what if there's a body in?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Here and what IF i need to report?
- 17:38Speaker 1: It oh, shit you're way nicer than. Me if you're
- 17:40Speaker 1: gonna run for the.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Hills, No i'm thinking EITHER, a it's Garbage i'm getting
- 17:45Speaker 2: out of the, ocean or, yeh b it's there's a
- 17:48Speaker 2: fucking body in here and someone needs to.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Know, YEAH i, mean, HONESTLY i would. PROBABLY i mean
- 17:53Speaker 1: after this case, Now i'm probably gonna for sure think
- 17:55Speaker 1: it's a dead body anything floating It's but LIKE i,
- 18:00Speaker 1: think if prior to do my research and, stuff, Initially
- 18:03Speaker 1: i'd probably just think it bell off something and it
- 18:06Speaker 1: was like someone's.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Luggage, Right, WELL i would probably think that. Too Oh,
- 18:10Speaker 2: god that thought of what if there's a body in
- 18:12Speaker 2: there would be sneaking in the back of my.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Brain that would be. Traumatizing, Shit oh it would BE
- 18:18Speaker 1: i Think i'd be traumatized for.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Life could you imagine actually finding that like that a
- 18:23Speaker 2: horrific to discover and be the the atrocity of actually
- 18:28Speaker 2: realizing that someone just lost their life and was just
- 18:31Speaker 2: thrown away like.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That, yeah, well, TECHNICALLY i guess with that suitcase it
- 18:36Speaker 1: wasn't certain that the person lost their, life and that
- 18:40Speaker 1: one like the legs they, oh, man, yeah this is
- 18:43Speaker 1: WHY i didn't put this in. There but they just
- 18:44Speaker 1: kept describing them as, fresh which is just like there
- 18:48Speaker 1: could have been a different way to describe.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Them, WELL i, mean not necessarily not, old not recently.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Murdered, RIGHT i don't, know there's two other descriptions than.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Fresh, NO i think fresh is probably the best way
- 19:04Speaker 2: to describe.
- 19:04Speaker 1: IT i described like fresh bananas or fresh, lettuce or
- 19:08Speaker 1: like fresh.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Air this weird conversation.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Anyway moving, on because two more suitcases would be. Found
- 19:16Speaker 1: so five days, later another suitcase washed on the shore
- 19:19Speaker 1: Of Fisherman's, island and inside this suitcase was the torch
- 19:24Speaker 1: of a white male severed from the waist. Down fuck,
- 19:29Speaker 1: yes so, okay so yeah it was THE i kind
- 19:32Speaker 1: of described that. Funny so it was like the waist
- 19:35Speaker 1: up and then it had the head and the arms still.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Attached, OKAY i that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Funny. Sorry so, finally a third suitcase would be discovered
- 19:44Speaker 1: by a fisherman and his, wife with the missing pieces
- 19:47Speaker 1: to the body initially unable to be. IDENTIFIED a complicate
- 19:53Speaker 1: sketch of the victim was released to the, public With
- 19:56Speaker 1: Susan rice recognizing the victim As Bill, maguire a longtime
- 20:02Speaker 1: friend of her. Husband's this was confirmed by a fingerprint
- 20:06Speaker 1: check and sure, enough the man inside the luggage Was.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Bill he was thirty nine years.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Old that's. Young that is, young the whole life ahead of,
- 20:15Speaker 2: you still, well and just.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The fact that he has young kids and stuff just
- 20:19Speaker 1: breaks my. Heart so The virginia authorities turned over the
- 20:23Speaker 1: investigation to The New Jersey State, police as that is
- 20:27Speaker 1: where it is believed the murder took, place and Though
- 20:30Speaker 1: melanie came across as the grieving, widow there was evidence
- 20:34Speaker 1: to question this and she would become the prime suspect
- 20:38Speaker 1: in the. Investigation, yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Rightfully, so like you, said most, statistically they're always going
- 20:45Speaker 2: after the spouse first person they turned to to question.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Totally and THEN i feel though we'll talk more about,
- 20:52Speaker 1: this BUT i, mean, like if there's anything even its tiniest,
- 20:56Speaker 1: tidbit not saying that there's tiny tidbits in this, one
- 20:59Speaker 1: but to question that. Person they don't look at anyone. Else,
- 21:03Speaker 1: really what do you?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Mean they don't look at anyone, like.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Okay so SAY i look semi guilty in one. Aspect
- 21:09Speaker 1: it's almost LIKE i feel like investigators brand like case
- 21:12Speaker 1: cold clothes like they. Did they don't even look at other.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Suspects they'll start to get that like tunnel, vision and,
- 21:18Speaker 2: yeah not necessarily try and follow the, evidence but try
- 21:20Speaker 2: and make the evidence fit. Exactly, yes that's that's something that,
- 21:24Speaker 2: WELL i, mean we've dealt with that in other episodes pretty,
- 21:26Speaker 2: much is that they get that tunnel. Vision they're trying
- 21:28Speaker 2: to get their man and make the evidence fit the
- 21:30Speaker 2: case and the scenario they want.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Exactly AND i just feel like for spouse cases that's
- 21:35Speaker 1: even more so than any other. Case and THEN i
- 21:39Speaker 1: just honestly sometimes feel like there are probably spouses serving
- 21:43Speaker 1: sentences that maybe don't necessarily deserve.
- 21:46Speaker 2: It, Right oh, yeah There's i'm sure lots of people
- 21:48Speaker 2: out there who are innocentems are unfortunately serving.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Time, yeah But i'm not saying that about this. Case
- 21:54Speaker 1: so we're going to go over some details. Here so
- 21:57Speaker 1: the fact that she never Reported bill as missing made
- 22:00Speaker 1: her a suspect right off the. Bat that is a bit.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Odd there was also a blanket inside one of the,
- 22:07Speaker 1: suitcases wrapped Around bill's, torso with markings from a hospital
- 22:12Speaker 1: supply company and the same kind of blankets used at
- 22:15Speaker 1: the fertility clinic Where melanie was.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Working, Oh, snael.
- 22:20Speaker 1: That's kind of a big. One the suitcases were also
- 22:24Speaker 1: the family's, suitcases Which, melanie though did admit. To apparently
- 22:29Speaker 1: she reluctantly admitted. To but she did admit. To but
- 22:33Speaker 1: technically the dude. Did she said that he packed up, bags, Right,
- 22:37Speaker 1: SO i don't. KNOW i feel like if you literally
- 22:43Speaker 1: were murdering your spouse like, that you would not dispose
- 22:45Speaker 1: of them in your own. LUGGAGE i just feel that,
- 22:50Speaker 1: Way but you never.
- 22:53Speaker 2: KNOW i don't.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Know what do they? Say common? Sense ain't that? Common?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Exactly you're get a lost FOR i really, am
- 23:01Speaker 2: BECAUSE i am very torn with the idea Of, well
- 23:05Speaker 2: clearly it fucking connects. Her but like you, said he
- 23:08Speaker 2: did leave with luggage according to, her according to, her
- 23:13Speaker 2: according to her, Exactly and a lot of this stuff
- 23:16Speaker 2: is according to, HER i, Mean bill is no voice
- 23:18Speaker 2: at this, point, Right so prove that it it wasn't. You, Yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 2: like prove he took the. Luggage, yeah where is the?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Witness where is this saying we have a missing individual
- 23:32Speaker 2: found in the family? Suitcases you can't prove those left
- 23:37Speaker 2: your possession.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Exactly, so investigators Felt melanie was holding information back from,
- 23:45Speaker 1: them but her, theory as shared on forty Eight, hours
- 23:49Speaker 1: was that her husband's trip To Atlantic city may have
- 23:52Speaker 1: put him in contact with some shady characters that he
- 23:56Speaker 1: liked to gamble and had a knack for pissing people.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Off bill's sister wouldn't believe That bill would ever lay
- 24:04Speaker 1: a hand on a, woman and she and she never
- 24:08Speaker 1: saw any, emotional, physical or verbal abuse aimed To. Melanie
- 24:13Speaker 1: she also insisted That bill would never abandon his.
- 24:16Speaker 2: CHILDREN i do want to say something real. Quick i'm fre.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Me saying prove the suitcase almost makes me say that
- 24:25Speaker 2: she is, guilty And i'm putting that point of view
- 24:27Speaker 2: out to you guys. LISTENING i don't want to do.
- 24:29Speaker 1: That, well, no but it makes sense, though because that's
- 24:32Speaker 1: fishy as.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Fuck, Yeah but also in that same, thing saying prove
- 24:37Speaker 2: it wasn't you prove?
- 24:38Speaker 1: It?
- 24:38Speaker 2: What? Like? Yeah If i'm saying prove it, wasn't, well
- 24:41Speaker 2: then the rhetorical question, is, well prove it.
- 24:43Speaker 1: WAS i mean, yeah because, technically what if he was
- 24:46Speaker 1: as mad and he threw all as, much he packed
- 24:50Speaker 1: up as much shit as he possibly. Could, yeah and
- 24:53Speaker 1: there was like one of those blankets or whatever already
- 24:56Speaker 1: and in the luggage like or left in his vehicle
- 24:59Speaker 1: or whatever it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Was SO i just want to make that clear that
- 25:03Speaker 2: as much as we can point fingers and, say, well
- 25:05Speaker 2: the evidence points to, you she can also, say, well
- 25:08Speaker 2: why aren't you listening to? Me i'm technically a witness
- 25:11Speaker 2: in this, Case so the argument goes both. WAYS i
- 25:15Speaker 2: just want to make that clear That i'm not trying
- 25:16Speaker 2: to tunnel vision you guys into making that evidence fit right.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Exactly we can have our opinions at the end or.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Whatever so police please search The maguire's, apartment their storage,
- 25:29Speaker 1: unit And melanie's, car but no murder weapon tool used
- 25:33Speaker 1: to cut Up bill's, body or any evidence for that
- 25:36Speaker 1: matter of a crime scene was ever. Found AND i
- 25:40Speaker 1: don't care how good you are at, cleaning if you
- 25:43Speaker 1: literally chopped up a man's body in your. APARTMENT i
- 25:46Speaker 1: think there would be something left.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Behind there would most likely be.
- 25:51Speaker 1: LIKE i DON'T i just can't understand how you would
- 25:54Speaker 1: clean that up well enough.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Unless you were extremely but even still it would be
- 26:05Speaker 2: very very. Hard.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Well one report said something like they believed she did
- 26:09Speaker 1: it in the bathroom and that it was in the
- 26:12Speaker 1: shower and she us like drape cloths or, whatever WHICH i,
- 26:15Speaker 1: mean but like she has two, CHILDREN i don't even
- 26:18Speaker 1: know how the hell she'd get away with. That but
- 26:21Speaker 1: so the search was very. Extensive they literally like turned
- 26:24Speaker 1: the place upside down in a number of, times including
- 26:27Speaker 1: pulling apart or pulling down parts of the, wall pulling up,
- 26:31Speaker 1: piping pulling up. Flooring, like they were. Extensive SO i
- 26:34Speaker 1: just feel like if there was like that would be
- 26:37Speaker 1: a massive amount of miss. THAT i just think something
- 26:40Speaker 1: would have been left.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Behind but m piping isn't notorious for catching in little
- 26:45Speaker 2: grooves that that pea, trap that LITTLE u shape underneath
- 26:48Speaker 2: your saint.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Exactly, yeah, yeah like they something would have come. UP
- 26:52Speaker 1: i feel like because they wouldn't have cleaned it that
- 26:55Speaker 1: the piping and.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Stuff and even if they she was able to get
- 26:58Speaker 2: rid of all any sort of residue or, blood there
- 27:00Speaker 2: would most likely be evidence of some serious cleaning and
- 27:03Speaker 2: chemicals being.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Used, totally, yeah which.
- 27:07Speaker 2: They usually put in findings when that is the. Case
- 27:10Speaker 2: and by the sounds of, it they didn't even find.
- 27:11Speaker 1: That, yeah not THAT i. Saw. So so a lot
- 27:15Speaker 1: of the forensic evidence that had been looked for on
- 27:18Speaker 1: the body was, unfortunately or that would have been looked, for,
- 27:21Speaker 1: sorry on the body was unfortunately destroyed in the water saturated.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Suitcases but it was quickly determined That bill had been
- 27:29Speaker 1: shot in the head and torso with the thirty eight caliber.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Gun so they wanted to determine If melanie had ever
- 27:36Speaker 1: owned a. Gun they searched gun records In New jersey
- 27:40Speaker 1: to no. Luck but when they Searched pennsylvania because it
- 27:44Speaker 1: was close and the state had a shorter waiting, period
- 27:47Speaker 1: they discovered this is a, doozy That melanie had purchased
- 27:52Speaker 1: a thirty eight caliber gun in that state forty eight
- 27:56Speaker 1: priors hours prior To bill going. Missing, yeah two.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Days oh, shit that does not look.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Good that really doesn't look.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Good it's one thing to own firearms and in the same,
- 28:11Speaker 2: caliber but it's another to purchase. It then your husband
- 28:15Speaker 2: go missing two days? Later? Yeah shit like?
- 28:19Speaker 1: That. Yeah, so her reasoning behind this being That bill
- 28:24Speaker 1: asked her to purchase the gun for protection in their
- 28:28Speaker 1: new home and that he couldn't purchase it himself because
- 28:31Speaker 1: he had a felony conviction due to a terrible driving,
- 28:34Speaker 1: record which he did have a terrible driving, Right, OKAY
- 28:38Speaker 1: i did see, That but that he asked her of,
- 28:41Speaker 1: This oh my.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Gosh does she know where the gun? Is what's her
- 28:45Speaker 2: story for where the gun's at?
- 28:46Speaker 1: Now she doesn't, Know she doesn't. Know, no they so
- 28:50Speaker 1: they never found the.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Gun i'm not too sure what certain state laws and
- 28:56Speaker 2: stuff and such, are But i'm pretty sure that's a
- 28:58Speaker 2: felony in itself missing.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Firearm yeah maybe. Yeah, so and she had also been
- 29:05Speaker 1: talking to a friend prior To bill's disappearance about the
- 29:09Speaker 1: problems in her marriage and were in regards to getting
- 29:12Speaker 1: a gun for her own. Safety it was never mentioned
- 29:16Speaker 1: That bill wanted a, gun and this friend would go
- 29:20Speaker 1: on testify and. Shit so. Okay So, melanie along with her,
- 29:25Speaker 1: parents were put under, surveillance and authorities obtained a court
- 29:30Speaker 1: order allowing them to secretly record hundreds of hours of
- 29:34Speaker 1: phone conversations Between melanie and her family and friends in
- 29:38Speaker 1: hopes that she may let something. Slip melanie always maintained her,
- 29:43Speaker 1: innocence but what they would find was what they believed
- 29:47Speaker 1: to be her motive for.
- 29:48Speaker 2: MURDER i know this.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Part it's always. This and that was the affair she
- 29:54Speaker 1: had been having with Doctor Brad, miller her boss at
- 29:57Speaker 1: the fertility clinic she was working.
- 29:59Speaker 2: At she flewsy and.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Around the affair had been going on for more than two.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Years oh, geez, really which is?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Wild? Okay so it actually started when she was pregnant
- 30:10Speaker 1: with their second. Kid what it was like third week's
- 30:14Speaker 1: pregnant or.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Something i'm, sorry but what a? Bitch, well so is?
- 30:19Speaker 1: He he's also married with young. Children they're Both, yeah because.
- 30:23Speaker 2: He's a fucking douche canoe and she's a. Bitch they're
- 30:25Speaker 2: perfect for each, other NOW i. Understand oh.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Okay so they also found out That melanie was In
- 30:31Speaker 1: Atlantic city the night after she Claimed bill left, her
- 30:36Speaker 1: saying she went there to look for. Him she was becoming,
- 30:40Speaker 1: angry angrier at her husband and suspected she knew where he,
- 30:44Speaker 1: was and lo and, behold she found her his car
- 30:48Speaker 1: in the Taj mahal casino parking, lot and as a
- 30:51Speaker 1: gesture of, spite moved his car about one and a
- 30:55Speaker 1: half miles away to The Flamingo, motel something they apparently
- 31:00Speaker 1: did when they were angry at each, other which is
- 31:04Speaker 1: real fucked in my what like that is just like really,
- 31:08Speaker 1: weird that is because like THAT i couldn't even imagine
- 31:14Speaker 1: doing that, too like being, Manned like how would you
- 31:17Speaker 1: would just never find your?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Vehicle, Ever i'm i'mar, okay how the fuck did she
- 31:26Speaker 2: find his? Vehicle to start?
- 31:27Speaker 1: With, well, here let me elaborate, here so BECAUSE i
- 31:32Speaker 1: kind of go into that a little. Bit so that
- 31:34Speaker 1: is Where bill's car was found by The but the
- 31:36Speaker 1: prosecution questioned the valid validility of that. Story, validity, Validity,
- 31:44Speaker 1: sorry it's all, Good oh my. Gosh? Kay DID i
- 31:47Speaker 1: also mention That i'm really? Tired so If i'm pronouncing shit,
- 31:49Speaker 1: wrong just be nice to. Me? Okay where AM? I?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Okay so they questioned this, story being That Atlantic city
- 31:57Speaker 1: at the time had thirteen large, casino hundreds of, restaurants,
- 32:01Speaker 1: shops parking, garages and parking lots virtually all over the
- 32:06Speaker 1: city that she made up the story after the media
- 32:09Speaker 1: had reported the police had a video of someone Parking bill's,
- 32:13Speaker 1: car because for her to be able to just stumble
- 32:17Speaker 1: upon the, car, yeah them far. Fetched BUT i don't
- 32:20Speaker 1: know because they were, married her knowing where he might
- 32:23Speaker 1: be doesn't seem super far fetched me, because like what
- 32:26Speaker 1: happens if she has they've foughten, Before like their marriage wasn't, great,
- 32:31Speaker 1: right and she's already bailed him out from this casino
- 32:34Speaker 1: or like knew that was the casino that he went
- 32:37Speaker 1: to or.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Something i'm not gonna say that someone's gonna go to
- 32:40Speaker 2: the same casino every, time. Though. No, yeah put it this.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Way what's my favorite beer in?
- 32:48Speaker 1: Town Thousand?
- 32:49Speaker 2: Peaks, okay If i'm mad And i'm storming off to
- 32:52Speaker 2: go for a, beer are you gonna be able to
- 32:54Speaker 2: go find my? Truck?
- 32:58Speaker 1: NO i probably wouldn't have even.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Go but if you go, looking would you be able
- 33:01Speaker 2: to find my? Truck where my favorite beer? Is can
- 33:04Speaker 2: you guarantee that? Restaurant that? Pub?
- 33:06Speaker 1: No but maybe he's a man of.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Habit maybe that's. TRUE i don't.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Know i'm just Being devil's at, Yet.
- 33:16Speaker 2: You're, right Everything i'm saying has the exact counter argument.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Exactly, Yeah so the video when it was, released it
- 33:25Speaker 1: was like or sorry when the police had released, this
- 33:28Speaker 1: they never they didn't go into more detail because that,
- 33:30Speaker 1: video the police had the individual parking, bills car had
- 33:34Speaker 1: too much, glare so the video was actually rendered. Useless
- 33:40Speaker 1: melanie did acknowledge how ridiculous her story. Sounded she. Does
- 33:44Speaker 1: she acknowledges a lot.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Of, shit Which i'm, Like so she went out found
- 33:48Speaker 2: his car in a city of hundreds of thousands of
- 33:50Speaker 2: people and then decided out of spite to park it somewhere.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Else, Yeah and something else kind of interesting is the
- 34:00Speaker 1: trip To Atlantic city had her passing through an electronic
- 34:04Speaker 1: toll station with these charges appearing on her. Statement melanie
- 34:09Speaker 1: called the company and attempted to have those charges. Removed
- 34:14Speaker 1: she said this was a panic moment for. Her she
- 34:17Speaker 1: absolutely tried to have those charges taken off because she
- 34:20Speaker 1: feared that people would look and think what they ultimately
- 34:23Speaker 1: ended up.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Thinking, well of, course so she's trying to cover her.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Tracks, yeah, yeah it looks.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Bad it does look, Really so she tried to cover
- 34:35Speaker 2: her tracks before talking to the, police not just trying
- 34:38Speaker 2: to cover her.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Tracks well, yeah, okay because there was Even, OKAY i didn't. Really,
- 34:42Speaker 1: okay let me back trunk for a, sec because she
- 34:46Speaker 1: had at one point just given the police a, tip
- 34:49Speaker 1: oh like you might find his vehicle In Atlantic city or.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Whatever but that she didn't tell them that she had
- 34:56Speaker 1: already fucking been, there found it and moved. It. Yeah
- 35:00Speaker 1: SO i mean that was also like her saying that
- 35:02Speaker 1: she's the last person in the. Vehicle.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Yeah, see if one's, husband ex, husband, whatever.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Well they're still married and.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Stuff, well someone you hate that you know of is,
- 35:15Speaker 2: missing and you're going to go physically find the, vehicle move,
- 35:21Speaker 2: it and then you're gonna lead police on a wild goose. Chase, Why,
- 35:25Speaker 2: yeah what's the. Point, yeah if you know you've been
- 35:29Speaker 2: in that vehicle and the police are talking to, you
- 35:32Speaker 2: to save your own, ass you better fucking tell them
- 35:34Speaker 2: exactly what, happened unless you're trying to hide. Something AND
- 35:38Speaker 2: i guess as far As i'm, CONCERNED.
- 35:39Speaker 1: I, MEAN i didn't put this in. There they believe
- 35:42Speaker 1: that she had help with all of this, Too oh,
- 35:45Speaker 1: Probably LIKE i, MEAN i think they literally believe that
- 35:47Speaker 1: she drove the vehicle there to like plant.
- 35:49Speaker 2: IT i believe that.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Too So melanie made another suspicious trip in the days
- 35:55Speaker 1: After bill went, missing this time To, delaware where she
- 35:59Speaker 1: was allegedly furniture. Shopping prosecution believed this is When melanie
- 36:04Speaker 1: drove the suitcases with her husband's remains To Chesapeake, bay
- 36:10Speaker 1: because the first suitcase turned up the following, day But
- 36:14Speaker 1: melanie denies, this insisting that there are hundreds of miles
- 36:19Speaker 1: Between delaware And Virginia beach about three hours that there
- 36:23Speaker 1: would not have been enough. TIME i, MEAN i do
- 36:27Speaker 1: find it kind of questionable that she's just running the
- 36:30Speaker 1: fuck all over the place when she has, Kids like
- 36:33Speaker 1: she has to be watching these, kids.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah BUT i mean it's watching that if she has
- 36:37Speaker 2: someone helping her baby sit the kids WHILE i go
- 36:40Speaker 2: dump a body of hundreds of miles. Away so no
- 36:42Speaker 2: one suspects, ME.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I, know because there was talk about like the dad
- 36:46Speaker 1: And i'm not sure it was her real father if
- 36:50Speaker 1: this was like a, stepfather but there had been like
- 36:53Speaker 1: this person brought up in stuff that it was, them
- 36:56Speaker 1: because even apparently one report said that he even tried
- 36:59Speaker 1: to phone to get rid of the toll oh shit.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Too SO i don't, KNOW i don't. Know there's some fishy.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Shita the problem is is when there's too many, coincidences
- 37:11Speaker 2: it no longer becomes a.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Coincidence well, yeah like even at we set at the
- 37:17Speaker 1: set at the, beginning like can someone be this unlucky
- 37:21Speaker 1: that they are literally doing all this shit at? Random, that,
- 37:25Speaker 1: LIKE i don't, know it just seems a bit. Much so,
- 37:29Speaker 1: eventually On june, second two thousand and, five as evidence
- 37:32Speaker 1: was piling, up after dropping off her son's at, Daycare
- 37:36Speaker 1: melanie was officially arrested and charged with murdering and dismembering her.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Husband this was thirteen months after this discovery of the.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Suitcases quite a lot of time.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Passed, yeah no, Kidding SO.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I feel like that made that seem like they were
- 37:52Speaker 1: making sure their ducks were kind of in a row
- 37:54Speaker 1: before they rested.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Her sounds like.
- 37:55Speaker 1: It. So at the, trial the prosecutor was prepared for,
- 37:59Speaker 1: battle tellingers in her opening statement That melanie planned for
- 38:04Speaker 1: her husband to, disappear and disappear he, did but the
- 38:09Speaker 1: defense Said bill had tempted his own. Fate when you
- 38:13Speaker 1: have money out on the street and you're behind and
- 38:16Speaker 1: you're making, payments you know what. Happens you get shot,
- 38:19Speaker 1: here and you get shot. Here as he points to
- 38:22Speaker 1: his chest and. Head NOW i do want to, sorry go, Ahead,
- 38:27Speaker 1: OKAY i just wanted to say, something AND i haven't
- 38:31Speaker 1: said this, yet BUT i find it weird and never
- 38:33Speaker 1: came up in any of my. Research but If bill
- 38:35Speaker 1: had such a gambling problem and owed like in quotations people,
- 38:40Speaker 1: money would he have been able to just purchase a?
- 38:42Speaker 1: House would they have just been able to purchase almost
- 38:45Speaker 1: a half a million dollar?
- 38:46Speaker 2: Home, yeah that was kind of going to be WHERE
- 38:48Speaker 2: i was going to. QUESTION i was just about to
- 38:49Speaker 2: ask about their financial situations and their financial. Records if
- 38:53Speaker 2: he had such a gambling, problem what sort of debt
- 38:55Speaker 2: were they? In what sort of evidence is there of
- 38:58Speaker 2: withdrawing these large sums of money or not making these,
- 39:01Speaker 2: payments or buying a house and actually getting that credit
- 39:04Speaker 2: check to. Pass so if he owed a shit ton of,
- 39:08Speaker 2: money there's probably going to be large transactions of credit
- 39:11Speaker 2: being drawn for him trying to pay that.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Off, yeah AND i do not think that they would
- 39:15Speaker 1: have been able to purchase.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Home so was there any sort of evidence that you
- 39:18Speaker 2: ran across from that she had nothing to prove this
- 39:21Speaker 2: gambling addiction in. Court, no there was, nothing because there's
- 39:25Speaker 2: no way you can sustain a gambling addiction on pure cash, Alone,
- 39:29Speaker 2: yeah especially if you're borrowing from people on the street
- 39:31Speaker 2: and then you lose it and they're, like you need
- 39:33Speaker 2: to pay me back by fucking. Tomorrow Otherwise i'm coming
- 39:35Speaker 2: to your house for your. Family you go into the.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Bank, Yeah AND i mean like he was teaching at
- 39:41Speaker 1: a college and, stuff, LIKE i, mean people with gambling
- 39:44Speaker 1: addictions are all sorts of. People so oh, yeah BUT
- 39:47Speaker 1: i don't, know just from the stuff THAT i, read
- 39:49Speaker 1: it doesn't seem like he was he had that. Issue
- 39:53Speaker 1: AND i mean his sister didn't think, either but like
- 39:57Speaker 1: she also thought that the couple was. Perfect SO i
- 40:00Speaker 1: mean stuff behind hidden doors is you can hide a
- 40:03Speaker 1: lot of, things, really oh you.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Can but if there is a gambling, addiction money has
- 40:07Speaker 2: a paper trail unless everything is strictly in. Cash, yeah
- 40:12Speaker 2: the odds of that are super.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Slim AND i feel LIKE i might touch on that
- 40:15Speaker 1: a little bit more. Later but, yeah the, PROSECUTION i,
- 40:18Speaker 1: believe looked into this and they couldn't find any evidence
- 40:22Speaker 1: of anything like.
- 40:23Speaker 2: This, Wow so now it's just her word.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Again, Yeah so the events would say the state only
- 40:30Speaker 1: focused On melanie and that there's no core evidence that
- 40:33Speaker 1: shows she did, this just, Circumstances but the prosecutor argued
- 40:38Speaker 1: the evidence like the, gun the, blanket and the suitcases
- 40:42Speaker 1: were all. Compelling now to go over a bit more
- 40:46Speaker 1: evidence that was found and presented in court THAT i
- 40:48Speaker 1: haven't gone over, yet because there is. More when investigators
- 40:52Speaker 1: Process bill's, car they found a bottle of the sedative
- 40:56Speaker 1: chloral hydrate and two syringes similar to the ones used
- 41:01Speaker 1: that the clinic Men melanie worked. At they traced the
- 41:05Speaker 1: chloral hydrate back to A walgreens pharmacy just down the
- 41:09Speaker 1: road from The Maguire Children's. Daycare the prescription was in
- 41:14Speaker 1: the name of a woman who was a patient of Doctor.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Miller AND i just wanted to, say when you drop off,
- 41:22Speaker 1: prescriptions like they DON'T id or, anything do They? No
- 41:26Speaker 1: AND i never really thought about that until, this But i'm,
- 41:30Speaker 1: LIKE i feel.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Like maybe they should start maybe.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Really so it was filled at eight thirty two am
- 41:37Speaker 1: On april twenty, eighth the date Of bill's. Disappearance the
- 41:43Speaker 1: daycare Showed melanie dropping off her sons at eight twenty that,
- 41:46Speaker 1: morning with The walgreens being about an eight minute drive.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Away the prescription was on Doctor miller's prescription, pad But
- 41:56Speaker 1: brad the doctor denied writing the, prescription and a handwriting
- 42:01Speaker 1: expert testified that the writing was not, his but could
- 42:05Speaker 1: neither identify nor exclude the signature as being done By,
- 42:09Speaker 1: melanie and the person's name that the prescription was under
- 42:13Speaker 1: testified that they had never gotten a prescription for. That.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Wow so the prosecutor believed the crime was cruel and,
- 42:23Speaker 1: calculated and That bill was heavily sedated Before melanie shot,
- 42:27Speaker 1: Him but no evidence of the drug was found In bill's,
- 42:30Speaker 1: body but it could be argued that his body was
- 42:33Speaker 1: found too late to.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Test SO i just had something come to me. Here
- 42:39Speaker 2: if he was heavily sedated like they suggest when he was,
- 42:43Speaker 2: shot that would imply her being able to subdue, him i.
- 42:48Speaker 2: E being able to wrap him up in a tarpsay
- 42:51Speaker 2: to help prevent messes or any sort of that. Situation
- 42:56Speaker 2: who knows that.
- 42:56Speaker 1: She was described, ALL i didn't put it in, here
- 42:59Speaker 1: but like he as a fairly petite. WOMAN i don't
- 43:02Speaker 1: know the size of, him but, yeah SO i, mean
- 43:06Speaker 1: if there's a, will there's a. Way, YEAH i should
- 43:11Speaker 1: Mention in regards To, brad he was always very adamant
- 43:15Speaker 1: he had nothing to do with the crime or didn't
- 43:17Speaker 1: know anything about. It So brad is Doctor Brad. Miller
- 43:21Speaker 1: the police wanted him to prove, this so he, agreed
- 43:24Speaker 1: agreed to wearing a. Wire he was very cooperative and
- 43:28Speaker 1: there was no evidence to connect him to the, crime
- 43:31Speaker 1: so he was never charged with. Anything he did also
- 43:34Speaker 1: testify Against melanie at her, trial.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Gotcha, okay, okay, so which probably pissed her.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Off oh, Yeah LIKE i think she thought that was
- 43:42Speaker 1: like a terrible, portrayal, right because there was even one
- 43:46Speaker 1: DOC i read that even as he was like recording
- 43:49Speaker 1: their conversations or wiring or whatever, like he was still
- 43:52Speaker 1: like sexually active with, her which is so, discussed and
- 43:57Speaker 1: that was kind of like a thing against his character
- 43:59Speaker 1: because that seems a bit.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Wrong, yeah that's that's shady as.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Fuck so so we move on to the next, thing
- 44:10Speaker 1: and that is The Maguire's internet search, history which had
- 44:14Speaker 1: some very questionable.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Searches oh you did tell me about this, too, actually.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Including but not limited, to undetectable, poisons instant, poison instant undetectable,
- 44:27Speaker 1: Poisons state gun, laws gun laws In, pennsylvania how to commit,
- 44:32Speaker 1: murder how to commit, suicide insulin is a poison, chlorohydrate And, walgreens.
- 44:40Speaker 2: And because that's WHERE i, KNOW i, know it's just
- 44:46Speaker 2: like that was one way to wrap it up and.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Where you.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Get you, know if you're shopping At, walgreens you're gonna kill.
- 44:53Speaker 2: SOMEBODY i Don't i've never been to A, walgreen SO
- 44:57Speaker 2: i can't even talk negative or positive about. It ALL
- 45:00Speaker 2: i know is that's one hell of a fucking search.
- 45:02Speaker 2: HISTORY i.
- 45:03Speaker 1: KNOW i, mean like we've said our search histories are,
- 45:06Speaker 1: fucked but we also like have a true crime, podcast
- 45:08Speaker 1: AND i don't think they, did so that's.
- 45:10Speaker 2: True but to be, FAIR i don't think any of my,
- 45:14Speaker 2: searches at least mine on my, computer are not how to,
- 45:17Speaker 2: murder how to kill, someone undetectable poison like it's.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Gonna Be, Yeah, no mine are quite.
- 45:23Speaker 2: That mine's gonna be very, specific case oriented.
- 45:26Speaker 1: One mine's always like how to pronounce, this how to pronounce?
- 45:29Speaker 2: This, yeah mine is like looking FOR i don't, know
- 45:36Speaker 2: like lesser known true crime cases or things like. That.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Right so, yeah, okay so that list was even like.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Longer really there was even more. SHIT a lot of
- 45:48Speaker 1: it was actually about insulin AND i do feel like
- 45:52Speaker 1: you would have to have a slightly medical background to
- 45:55Speaker 1: potentially even think.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Of insulin or a true crime podcast.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Back, yeah LIKE i don't, know just like a Normal
- 46:02Speaker 1: joe would know.
- 46:03Speaker 2: That, well she is a, nurse isn't She she's a.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Nurse, yeah so this looked very bad For. Melanie but
- 46:11Speaker 1: she claimed as a, nurse she wouldn't need to look
- 46:14Speaker 1: up those things if she wanted to look something. Up
- 46:17Speaker 1: she had a physician's desk reference book that doesn't have
- 46:20Speaker 1: a record of any search. History the defense showed they
- 46:26Speaker 1: had no idea who made these, searches and this is,
- 46:30Speaker 1: interesting there were apparently other searches seconds after the so
- 46:33Speaker 1: called incriminating, searches where it was a website that Only
- 46:37Speaker 1: bill could access via a.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Password i'm going to go ahead and limb here and
- 46:43Speaker 2: say that in two thousand and four was this, case
- 46:47Speaker 2: a lot of people weren't too knowledgeable on search. Histories
- 46:51Speaker 2: so why would you look it up at? Work just
- 46:53Speaker 2: look it up at home when no one's looking, around
- 46:55Speaker 2: and she has no idea that it's being recorded on
- 46:57Speaker 2: a search.
- 46:58Speaker 1: History, yeah but they would say That, Bill, yes right
- 47:03Speaker 1: after something sketch was, Searched, yes how to murder? Someone
- 47:07Speaker 1: that Something bill would only search was next and like
- 47:11Speaker 1: needed a password to get.
- 47:12Speaker 2: In, yeah but if she knew his, Password, yeah which very.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Likely you know my passwords AND i know yours were.
- 47:18Speaker 2: MARRIED i mean you.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Could plan, That but then would you also just clear a?
- 47:23Speaker 1: History BUT i think even if like you clear a,
- 47:25Speaker 1: history the police can still.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Look oh yeah you.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Can but could you imagine If bill was actually planning
- 47:30Speaker 1: to do something To melanie as, well or or something? Right,
- 47:34Speaker 1: LIKE i don't. Know that seems sketch to. Me so
- 47:38Speaker 1: the prosecution Believed melanie concocted an elaborate story to Explain bill's,
- 47:43Speaker 1: absence beginning with the, fight then the restraining, order the,
- 47:47Speaker 1: divorce and hints of shady, characters even though there was
- 47:51Speaker 1: nothing to be found indicating That bill was involved with
- 47:54Speaker 1: any criminal element, whatsoever so they looked into. This the
- 47:59Speaker 1: defense was confident in saying the state not only failed
- 48:03Speaker 1: to find them the murder, weapon a, motive or an
- 48:07Speaker 1: accomplished it also failed to prove its own theory That
- 48:11Speaker 1: melanie shot and Dismembered bill in their. Apartment they felt
- 48:15Speaker 1: it was impossible for the crime to occur in that
- 48:18Speaker 1: apartment without being there being any piece of, edmonds WHICH
- 48:22Speaker 1: i do agree, with and being that it was an,
- 48:25Speaker 1: apartment surely a neighbor would have heard the gunshot or
- 48:29Speaker 1: saw like the sound of a sawing boneh not, necessarily
- 48:36Speaker 1: but AND i didn't stick this in. There there was
- 48:37Speaker 1: one report that said one of the bullets that was
- 48:40Speaker 1: In bill had like fiber. RESIDUE i don't know how
- 48:45Speaker 1: to describe, that fibers on. It, okay that was from
- 48:48Speaker 1: LIKE i, think like a green cushion or, something so
- 48:52Speaker 1: like they thought maybe they they kind of used the
- 48:54Speaker 1: pillow as like a bit of a silencer or. SOMETHING
- 48:56Speaker 1: i don't even know how that exactly would.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Work but, YEAH i mean if you have if it's
- 49:00Speaker 2: like a handsaw that you're just operating push, pole push,
- 49:02Speaker 2: pull there's not gonna be any noise, really, right just
- 49:05Speaker 2: the sawing Of.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Oh that would make so, Long, no wouldn't It not that?
- 49:09Speaker 2: Long it, Would but it's not that. Bad it's it's
- 49:13Speaker 2: quicker than you. Think Because i'm saying this BECAUSE i
- 49:16Speaker 2: am a. Hunter i've, BUTCHERED i, Understand i've cut through
- 49:20Speaker 2: moose leg, bones which are much bigger than. Humans it's,
- 49:24Speaker 2: tiring but it doesn't take that. Long bones are very
- 49:30Speaker 2: close in density to like a fur, wood A douglas. Fur, oh,
- 49:34Speaker 2: okay fairly. Close if you break a branch the size
- 49:39Speaker 2: of A douglas, fur that's about equivalent to breaking a. Bone,
- 49:42Speaker 2: yeah so sawing it is a little bit, different but
- 49:46Speaker 2: it's close at. Least so you can saw through a
- 49:48Speaker 2: two by, Four you probably close to sawing through the. Bone,
- 49:53Speaker 2: however you need to have the know how to not
- 49:55Speaker 2: saw through the meat because the meat will clog up your.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Sauce you need to cut through the meat with a
- 50:00Speaker 2: knife and then just saw the.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Bone oh my.
- 50:02Speaker 2: God that's so if you do that, correctly it's not that.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Bad that being, said if you use like a reciprocating
- 50:09Speaker 2: saw with a motor or, something, yeah then you muffle
- 50:12Speaker 2: it with like a pillow over. Top it's just like
- 50:13Speaker 2: coughing into a pillow makes.
- 50:14Speaker 1: It Que AND i think they muffled like she was
- 50:16Speaker 1: muffling the, gun is WHAT i.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Meant oh, yeah same sort of, thing.
- 50:20Speaker 1: SO i, mean which would also describe if she need
- 50:23Speaker 1: a new. FURNITURE i don't. Know maybe she was using
- 50:26Speaker 1: a couch cushion, maybe BUT i was just gonna SAY
- 50:29Speaker 1: i saw a beautiful buck. Today. Wow the animals we
- 50:33Speaker 1: had a. Moment it was so interesting because it like
- 50:36Speaker 1: went by the road so slowly and then it just
- 50:39Speaker 1: stopped on the side of the road and like drive
- 50:41Speaker 1: by and like looked at, it and we just like
- 50:43Speaker 1: looked at each other and it was like. Neither it wasn't,
- 50:46Speaker 1: scared WHICH i was, like that's.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Weird it was probably, thinking is that an alien has
- 50:50Speaker 2: no idea what you? Are what the fuck is?
- 50:52Speaker 1: That but, anyways really it was really. Cool. Okay So
- 50:56Speaker 1: i'm not fully Convinced melanie didn't do, it BUT i
- 51:00Speaker 1: still for some, reason don't believe the act was done
- 51:02Speaker 1: in the. APARTMENT i feel like you could see the
- 51:04Speaker 1: act potentially being in the apartment at this.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Point, NO i don't believe it. Was i'm just not
- 51:09Speaker 2: counting it, Out, Okay but my bet is, no definitely
- 51:13Speaker 2: not the. Apartment.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Okay, so after seven weeks had more than seventy. Witnesses
- 51:18Speaker 1: In april of two thousand and, Seven Melanie maguire was
- 51:22Speaker 1: found guilty of murder And july sentenced to life in.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Prison other Than, bill the other victims in this case
- 51:30Speaker 1: are the children in my. Opinion the court award a
- 51:34Speaker 1: custody of the two sons To bill's, sister SO i
- 51:37Speaker 1: can imagine she gave them a good, upbringing but they
- 51:39Speaker 1: lost both their. Parents from WHAT i can, Find melanie
- 51:43Speaker 1: has had any contact with them since her. Trial she
- 51:47Speaker 1: said that the hardest part is not being there for her.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Children her message to them is to make up your.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Mind don't accept what you're just being told on the.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Surface dig Dig these documents, exist the stuff, Exist it's out,
- 52:01Speaker 1: there she. Said melanie still claims her innocence and insists
- 52:05Speaker 1: the real killer is still out. There.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Wow, WELL i mean there is a possibility of. THAT
- 52:13Speaker 2: i don't see proof that she did, it BUT i
- 52:17Speaker 2: also don't see proof that she didn't do. IT i
- 52:20Speaker 2: know she has no. Alibi she doesn't have her gun,
- 52:24Speaker 2: too because guns basically have a. Fingerprint if you have
- 52:27Speaker 2: the bullet that was shot from the murder and you
- 52:31Speaker 2: have the, gun you can prove if it was or was.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Not she doesn't have that to. Prove the whole car
- 52:36Speaker 2: thing sounds like a ridiculous.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Fiasco SOMETHING i did forget to mention about the car,
- 52:43Speaker 1: too is that there was they called it human, sawdust
- 52:47Speaker 1: which is really weird in the, car so like on
- 52:51Speaker 1: the floors and, stuff so like they felt maybe someone
- 52:54Speaker 1: had it on their.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Feet oh, okay like a like a trace. Amount, yeah. Gotcha,
- 52:59Speaker 2: Okay SO i don't.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Know and then she was the last one in there.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Too but would you just drop that Was ripley my?
- 53:06Speaker 1: Phone she walked by and stepped on the, cord got? It?
- 53:11Speaker 2: NO i. Huh this is. Tough i'm not saying for
- 53:15Speaker 2: certain that she did, it but my money is on
- 53:19Speaker 2: the fact that she did do. It there's too much circumstantial.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Evidence and BUT i highlight circumstantial, evidence but there's too
- 53:27Speaker 2: much circumstantial evidence in my opinion to say that it's
- 53:32Speaker 2: just that. Circumstantial, yeah too many coincidences are no longer a.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Coincidence, yeah there's a LOT i. DO i feel LIKE
- 53:41Speaker 1: i agree that she did, It but THEN i also feel,
- 53:43Speaker 1: like how can someone literally like she's done a lot
- 53:49Speaker 1: of interviews and, stuff and she does them because she
- 53:52Speaker 1: feels that the real killer is out, there and SO
- 53:55Speaker 1: i just like feel, like how could someone be that
- 53:58Speaker 1: good at hiding? This and then ALSO i, mean like
- 54:01Speaker 1: she was a mother and she had like, kids would
- 54:04Speaker 1: she take their? Father away from, Them, LIKE i don't,
- 54:07Speaker 1: KNOW i find that hard to.
- 54:08Speaker 2: BELIEVE i do. TOO i ALSO i find it really
- 54:11Speaker 2: hard to believe if you look at the fact, that,
- 54:13Speaker 2: okay it was a gambling, addiction And i'm not saying he,
- 54:15Speaker 2: didn't but, again it's really hard to. Prove but if
- 54:19Speaker 2: he did have a gambling, addiction he did owe some
- 54:21Speaker 2: people some serious cash and it came down to it
- 54:23Speaker 2: was you pay us or your, life and well you
- 54:25Speaker 2: didn't pay, us so it was his. Life how are
- 54:28Speaker 2: they going to dispose of his? Body are these individuals
- 54:31Speaker 2: really going to go through the trouble of chopping them,
- 54:33Speaker 2: up putting them in multiple, suitcases and disposing them out at.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Sea most likely they'll just dump a body somewhere because
- 54:40Speaker 2: they've probably done this.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Before, okay BECAUSE i almost thought the, opposite and THAT i,
- 54:46Speaker 1: thought Like melanie wouldn't do something that. DRASTIC i feel
- 54:49Speaker 1: like she would just like go dump them at, seat
- 54:51Speaker 1: and that these scarier people. Would but, yeah like you,
- 54:55Speaker 1: said they've probably done a million.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Times like, yeah someone being chopped up and suitcases thrown
- 55:01Speaker 2: it to. Seat to, me that's someone trying to hide,
- 55:03Speaker 2: something someone who's just nonchalant killing over.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Money, well did she think that those suitcases would? Sink? Maybe,
- 55:10Speaker 1: HEY i don't.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Know probably it seems someone trying to get rid of
- 55:14Speaker 2: something and not being, experienced not, knowing making a. Mistake
- 55:18Speaker 2: these people have done this. Before they've probably got a
- 55:21Speaker 2: way of doing it where the bodies aren't, found or
- 55:23Speaker 2: they just don't care because they can't prove it, anyways
- 55:25Speaker 2: and they've done before and they get away with it every.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Time or a bolt and the skull and they leave
- 55:29Speaker 2: the body or. Something, yeah it doesn't add up to
- 55:34Speaker 2: the story for.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Me, yeah because really it just seems like there's pretty
- 55:38Speaker 1: much right, now two options in a. Sense it's Like,
- 55:41Speaker 1: melanie or it's That bill got himself in the situation or, whatever, right,
- 55:46Speaker 1: yeah and OR i mean see completely random which, Happens,
- 55:51Speaker 1: yeah completely not even thought of.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Which generally when you find someone who picks random, victims
- 55:58Speaker 2: usually they are the ones who does get away with.
- 56:00Speaker 2: It do get away with.
- 56:01Speaker 1: It, YEAH i don't. KNOW i don't. Know it's crazy this,
- 56:07Speaker 1: this these. CASES i feel like we're as husband and
- 56:10Speaker 1: wife and stuff just get. Me they get.
- 56:11Speaker 2: Me why is?
- 56:14Speaker 1: THAT i don't, know BECAUSE i just find it so
- 56:17Speaker 1: hard to Believe.
- 56:18Speaker 2: OKAY i thought it was like because you can relate
- 56:20Speaker 2: to it and you want to kill me or.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Something, yeah there's another one on my. List IF i
- 56:23Speaker 1: do a, third does that make me look weird a little?
- 56:26Speaker 2: Bit, Yeah i'm going to start being real concerned here.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Because there was that. ONE i feel, like is it The?
- 56:30Speaker 1: WATTS i think is their last? NAME i kind of What?
- 56:33Speaker 1: WATTS i think what what?
- 56:38Speaker 2: EXACTLY i don't.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Know i'm pretty sure That's Chris. WATT i don't. KNOW
- 56:41Speaker 1: i think that was their. Names but that's on my list.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Too but AFTER i was, LIKE i can't do that.
- 56:46Speaker 1: One i'll literally look like because SOMETIMES i also feel
- 56:49Speaker 1: LIKE i do too many cannibalism ones too.
