- SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Good morning to me and thank you for coming to the Sky Talk Doc podcast. I am super excited to talk about what you've been working on the Thera Dome bald heads growing back hair and your new book. This is going to be a really exciting conversation. Could you share with the listeners a little bit about your backstory and who you are and kind of how you got to the place you're at today? Tamim Hamid: Well, good. Thank you. again, thanks for having me ⁓ on your show. I appreciate it. Talk about the third open my newly released book. Yeah, I I'm an engineer and I got my first engineering job at NASA Kennedy Space Center right after the Challenger accident. And they hired a bunch of engineers to come in, automate a lot of the space shuttle operations. So I was there for 10 years, worked on lasers. I've been in... After NASA, did startups after that. And this latest one is with Pterodome ⁓ for lasers. actually what I worked on at NASA. It was a bunch of lasers, ⁓ but not to go back here at NASA. Lasers ⁓ for other, there's and millions of applications for lasers. ⁓ We're using lasers right to communicate ⁓ for fiber optic. and when you go to the grocery store, when you talk on the phone, and lasers are everywhere amongst us. So we used it for, I had come up with a new laser and I said, hey, why don't we try to grow hair with lasers? And so I did that about a few years ago and I was the first FDA cleared laser device. for wearable in the marketplace. there was before that, there was only Monoxidil and Finasteride. Those are the only two before that. ⁓ Now is the ⁓ third cleared approved device. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Well, it's fascinating because as a woman, I know all about laser therapy for removing hair in unwanted places, but not necessarily in growing it back. I I wondered the connection with NASA. I was like, well, how ⁓ the astronauts need more hair? Is this like a like a priority or what's the deal? So ⁓ happy to hear you say that it was not a one to one that it was like the astronauts didn't need hair. And that's how come you developed it. But what was the ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yes. Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: the 3M oops moment that led you to kind of put that all together. Tamim Hamid: Yeah, actually it was by accident. had, you know, I do a lot of research, my PhDs in biomedical engineering. so I read papers and I ran across a paper back in 1965 about how this doctor in, it's hungry. He basically used lasers to try to cause cancer on rats. So what he did is we shaved off back of the rats that caused cancer, ⁓ what he saw was instead of them getting cancer, they back their hair from him shaving off their backs. And he was puzzled. So he actually wrote a paper on it and really nobody really saw it because it was like, what? Lasers? SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: there. Tamim Hamid: growing back hair back in 1965. So then back in the 1980s, people started using like what you were saying, right? They were using lasers to remove hair by using a lot of heat, different type of condition. And what happened was is that when people removed hairs, let's say on their mustache or on their cheeks, it would grow more hair around it. And they were like, ⁓ why is, you know, the hair gets removed, but there's more hair around the peripheral of where the laser beam was hitting. And it was because the red light, they used YAG lasers back then, but the red light, just the reflection of the red light around the tissue caused more hair to grow. And that's why lasers today still cannot remove hair. And the FDA took out that notation. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Cool. Tamim Hamid: that or that claim that lasers can remove hair because it can remove it temporarily but not permanently. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: That's fascinating. I was young, my mom made me wait until I think I was like 16 to shave my legs, different generation. But she said, well, once you shave it, it grows back thicker. So I'm helping you out by making you wait. And all the other girls were able to shave. remember I was like so annoyed with her, you know? But now as I'm getting older and they notice like the little peach fuzz or whatever, I'm like, I'm not gonna have it taken off sure. ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Whatever you do, don't shave your hair because what's fascinating, you know, because I went both to engineering school and med school to get my biomedical. And so on the medical side, of the things that's fascinating about our biology is that once you wake up the hair by shaving it, It actually, there's about 400 hairs per square centimeter, right? Imagine there's about four, they're all asleep. 99 % of them are asleep. But when you shave it or pluck it or do anything mechanical to it, it triggers the other ones to grow. It's fascinating. It's, you know, nobody can explain it. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Why do you say that? Because my father is bald and I was telling him like, gosh, when you're shaving more frequently, I swear it's like growing back faster. Like you're having to shave more often because he, you know, he vicks it or whatever. And I'll notice if we go to like three events in a week and he has to shave it three times in the week. The next week, it's like growing out so fast. So there is truth to this. Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Yeah, and that's why young boys, you know, that shave and have the holes in their beards. I always ⁓ them, hey, listen, shave more. You know, make sure you shave in that area. I know it doesn't show, ⁓ if you shave, then it starts filling in. ⁓ SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: That is incredible. And you know, I find something else so fascinating about this, and because of course, being in the field I'm in of, you psychology, the psychological component to our image and how ⁓ hair portrays like a certain youthfulness or a certain strength or wisdom ⁓ or whatever in cultural, you know, generationally speaking. And ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: I remember I had a client, a couple client, and he and his wife had a battle about this because he wanted to do things to grow his hair back. And she's like, just let it be natural, you know? And I remember that was a lot of debate between the two of them. And ultimately he's saying, you don't know what it's like to be me, right? ⁓ how I feel about myself. But I do think that there's an incredible component to ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Right. Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: to hair as part of self-image identity and value or worth. Tamim Hamid: Well, it goes back all the way to Hippocrates and ⁓ ⁓ were saying back then that castrated men. ⁓ you know, eunuchs basically have no hair loss. They have full head of hair. the reason why is because, you know, now we know that the testicles contain testosterone ⁓ and right? DHT is the killer for hair follicles. ⁓ So one hand, had, ⁓ so happened was they ⁓ actually a survey in Germany, like, would you rather be castrated or have, you know, have a full head of hair or not be castrated and have ⁓ hair loss. 60 some percent of the people wanted to be castrated. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: You're kidding me! Tamim Hamid: It was incredible because the emotional damage from from both men and women. that women doesn't get as bald like men. There's no women that are completely bald like Kojak or whatever. These guys, women get it, but it's pretty noticeable. That's why you don't really see women with hair loss because they know how to cover it up. Only 5 % of men cover, do something about the hair they wear, or toupee, or. or now it's, they just shave it off if they have a nice head. But the majority of people have huge psychological effects when they lose their hair. It's devastating. We hear it all the time. We've sold millions of these devices. And can assure you that people, especially women, are and men, right? Men that are, you know, that are more... ⁓ say even effeminate men that require a good looking, know, good, you know, they're worried about the looks and all that. Guys that are not so worried, they just shave it off. I think they have a good hip that they look good at, you know, and so that's the style of mouth today. Much different than 40 years ago. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Yes. It is much different. It's interesting because during the COVID era, I had lost a substantial amount of hair. I feel like this was just part of the COVID thing. ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: ⁓ I think we're frozen. Are you back? ⁓ there we go. Okay. The internet was doing something weird. Okay. Let me. Tamim Hamid: There we go. I love Super. Yeah, sorry, I just got this back. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Yeah, give me one. Okay, there we go. Okay, okay. Tamim Hamid: I switched to my Starlink. I switched to my Starlink. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: So during the COVID time, I had started to lose my hair. I feel like this was a common thing that was happening with COVID. And I also have thyroid stuff, so that kind of can, I notice when my thyroid's off, it'll start coming out. But I was losing it right in this area, like in the baby fine zones. it was quite substantial. my was telling me like she was seeing that all over, that it was like. Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: definitely a thing. And I remember thinking, damn it, it's gonna grow back gray. I know it is. And sure enough, it was a blend. It was a blend. But I was like, I had a feeling like the time, the age, all the things that I would be jinxed on that. Did you start to see that during the COVID time? Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. COVID was the best thing, unfortunately to say, is the best thing that ever happened to us for our little company because... People were sequestered and jailed in their homes. They were stressed, they were at home. They didn't know what to do. They didn't wanna take the shot. Some people got side effects from the shot, whatever the case might be, right? They didn't have any toilet paper, they were stressed. All kinds chaos happened during COVID. ⁓ But the common between everyone around the world, we had our best years, you know, because we started earlier, but it was like, at COVID, it went ⁓ to the moon. ⁓ SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: I it. I believe it. So it's kind of interesting because again, my partner is bald. He said, I think his hair loss was relatively young. And like I said, since we've been together, I've been noticing it's growing more rapidly. But ⁓ I don't mind either phase. when he's, when it's kind of like he's been growing it out for a few days and it's kind of fuzzy, that's kind of fun. And when it's bald and smooth, that's kind of fun too. But I wonder how does it impact relational dynamics between partners? Like And something that he had mentioned, which I find fascinating, and after he mentioned it, of course, being in the psychology mindset, I'm always paying attention to patterns and behaviors. He had said that like his she would get really upset whenever he shaved his head because it meant that he was like cleaning up or he was improving himself or he was trying to look good in the world. My mindset is like, if we're going on a date night, like I... ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Mm-hmm. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: I don't mind if you haven't had time, but I do like when he vix it, you know? But I always tell him, like, look, first and foremost, you need to feel good about yourself. You feeling good about yourself out in the world, whatever that looks like is what's going to be best for both of us. But I find it interesting to hear that. And I wonder how many other men deal with that, like part of things. Tamim Hamid: Yeah. Yes. Yeah, but believe it or not, about close to 60 % of our customers are women, believe it or not. And about 40 % of men. I know it's good. And a lot of women buy for men as well, for their husbands. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Wow. Tamim Hamid: So, you know, so it's dual usage for both them and their mates. the men, is, seen all kinds, right? million customers. seen every kind of it. The ones that ⁓ do well are when women don't really care about the guy's looks ⁓ terms of his right when ⁓ they're like embed. It's the man that is worried about his perception insecure about the way he feels about how he looks ⁓ and on. So it depends on the relationship SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Yeah. Tamim Hamid: how well do they get along in terms like, are you okay with my hair being this way? And we those people the happiest. And so the guy is doing it. let me give you a case in point is that buy ⁓ helmet, for example, and the buys it for their men and say, hey, listen, I'm gonna give you this. ⁓ And the always says, you know, I don't really need it. I don't really care. But ⁓ women, know, on the other side, they insist, no, I want you to wear this. This might help you. Not knowing that, know, the guy doesn't work, ⁓ really care about if he goes his hair or not. So some of them are aloof of the idea that, I don't really care about my hair, just continue shaving it off. And some people are like, hey, let me try it. Yeah, if it works, it's really good. So believe that ⁓ it's very the dynamic between a man and a woman and how secure they are and the women is insecure. And it's usually just because of the fact that only 5 % of males do something about their hair loss. Whereas 100 % of women will do something about their hair loss. A woman, if they have hair loss, they will get extensions, they'll get hair thickeners, they'll go do whatever they can. to get, they'll even consider wigs, you know, and do any kind of product. They spend about four to $6,000 a year on hair products just to get, to avoid any kind of type of hair loss look or feel when they're out. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: So I've always had like baby fine hair my whole life. I just, I don't think I ever thought I would ever have thick hair. It's just always been baby fine. Does your theridome or your product, it, laser, does it help people that have thin hair get thick hair? No. Tamim Hamid: Mm-hmm. ⁓ yeah, so one of the things so you got to look at the mechanism of everything. So let me just explain it. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: air follicles, right? Like let's talk about the follicles. Tamim Hamid: Okay, so the hair follicle, the good news is that way back when about 40 years ago somebody discovered the minoxidil. it does is that it opens up the blood flow ⁓ the hair follicle. But it was the wrong concept. Unfortunately, blood doesn't give you better hair, right? There's enough blood flow on the scalp, really, if you think about it. Look at a boxing match. You see blood everywhere. There's enough blood on the scalp ⁓ So blood flow of helps. Very few small percentage of people suffer from lack of blood flow. small percentage but ⁓ the word androgenic alopecia androgenetic alopecia is a word that says is based right so you have a hormone so They came up with this, hey, let's give them the medication for prostate cancer. Let's reduce the prostate with this ⁓ anti-antigen medication. that's not really the case because for women it doesn't work. For men, it's really like you can't really ⁓ control regulate So DHT is the killer of hair loss. So with laser, we do it differently. We actually bypass DHT. say, look, DHT is here to stay. I mean, listen, a guy or a girl, anybody ⁓ ⁓ to control hormones, which is nothing out there in the world. I would, I have two sisters, two daughters, my wife, ⁓ be the happiest person if every 28 days, you they wouldn't have an issue, right? If they didn't have any issues with mood swings and this and that ⁓ and and if I can have a medication that controls hormones. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Ha Tamim Hamid: which is still nobody's ever been able to do, right? There's no invention out there. So hormones are here to stay. We're controlled by hormones. Everything we do is controlled by hormones. So we don't touch hormones, right? What we do is we go around and we have discovered a wavelength allows... it's called a chromophore, it allows to go inside the cell. When it goes inside the cell, it stimulates the mitochondria because the mitochondria is what you want to motivate and accelerate and stimulate. the... SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Wake up. Tamim Hamid: what it does is that the ⁓ we shine line on it, it actually ⁓ ⁓ the mitochondria and everything turns on. That means ⁓ sweat glands turns on, your oil glands turn on, what's the stem for hair follicle. And that right there actually stimulated. So it'll grow longer ⁓ and it'll grow and it'll stay on your head two to eight years instead of when you're when you're when when you lose your hair you know hair falls off every couple years or less and that's what you have a lot of hair but when you stimulate it then what happens, it stays on your hair. It's called the antigen phase. It stays up to eight years. One hair will stay in your hair for eight years if you take care of it. But most people in their hair loss. when you have, for example, when you have thin hair, like you're saying, ⁓ can double the size of the hair follicle because we are stimulating ⁓ production. And so it'll grow longer and thicker at the same time. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: So you don't get more coming out, the ones you have get thicker, a larger diameter. Tamim Hamid: Both. So the first, so three things happen when you wear our device. Three things. Number one, it stops hair loss. Because what it does, the only device or drug in the world that can stop hair loss. People that use our device, they're like, ⁓ my God, I had less hair in my pillow and my shower and my brush. ⁓ That's first thing people tell us. The second thing that it does, which is really good because you're slowing down and stopping hair loss. ⁓ it SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Okay. Tamim Hamid: that you have more hair. It's the illusion getting more hair, but you're not. You're actually keeping what you have because ⁓ lose about 3,000 hairs a month. You know, about 100 a day ⁓ then ⁓ times 30 days ⁓ about 3,000 hairs a month. Then the second thing it does is that it thickens the existing hair. It thickens. It gets thicker and thicker because it's getting the nutrients. ⁓ then about four months later, ⁓ because that's how long hair takes to grow. It's like a baby in gestation. It takes nine months to grow baby. It takes four months to grow a hair. So after four or five months, now new hair starts growing. Now you have, instead of in a square centimeter, you have only like ⁓ or six hairs. Now you have 10 hairs growing in a square centimeter. So you're doubling ⁓ density of your hair follicles on your head. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Okay, so I have two important questions left and I know that we're going to be coming up on time, but these are both important. Is there any products that you recommend more or less than others in terms of shampoo and conditioner? Like I remember hearing never wash your hair except once a month, otherwise you ruin it. Or I've heard don't use any fragrances because it kills, like what's your kind of take on the shampoo and conditioner side of things? Tamim Hamid: you Yeah, that's one of the problems I had, ⁓ believe it or not. did ⁓ clinical trials with my device. And one of the things that ⁓ was problematic for me was when I had like 80 or 90 people or 100 people in a clinical trial, couldn't have somebody using, you know, like head and shoulders and somebody else using another type of shampoo, let's say a Nexen product or something like that, right? ⁓ So advised me like, ⁓ you what? Let's use a very stable shampoo. and that everybody can use. I go, okay, sure, why not? So we used, no, it was baby shampoo. ⁓ was the worst shampoo we ever tested. ⁓ had reaction to it because it has so many... ⁓ SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Vana cream. ⁓ my God. It's a terrible shampoo for allergens. terrible. It's the worst. ⁓ Tamim Hamid: ⁓ my God, we learned a hard way. was like causing all these scalp issues, dermatitis, eczema, ⁓ everything. because people were allergic to all of the preservatives and you know, we don't know anything about Johnson's baby shampoo where it's gentle, right? ⁓ So. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: would have said, it's lying. It's not gentle. I have big time skin allergies. I have a nickel and balsamic fruit and balsamic fruit is in everything. I would have been like, not Johnson and Johnson, not that one. Tamim Hamid: Yeah. No! So we stopped the trial. So what I did is I said, gosh, this has got to be a better way. all the... Trust me, there's about a million shampoos out there. If you look for all over around the world from Indonesia. But the number one shampoo in the world, the number one best selling, do you know what it is? Number one best selling shampoo. I don't care if you go in Australia, Indonesia, China. Guess what the number one selling shampoo in the world is? Europe. Nope. It's Head & Shoulders. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Pert, Pert plus. Okay, what is it? Wow. Tamim Hamid: Head and shoulders has been the number one shampoo in the world because hair loss and dandruff are associated. So when somebody has dandruff, they lose their hair. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Wow, that's fascinating. Tamim Hamid: So when you have dandruff, you will lose your hair. That is guaranteed. Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: ⁓ wow! That's incredible. Tamim Hamid: ⁓ I wrote this in my book, one of the discoveries I found. ⁓ ⁓ I did was I'm like, ⁓ know what, Head & Shoulders still has the same type of ingredients as Johnson's Baby Shampoo, right? It has sulfates and phthalates and all these other glycol products inside of it. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: the SLSs. Tamim Hamid: SLL. Yeah, exactly. So what I did is I it took me 10 years because I was like, okay, I really don't want to be in the shampoo business. That's not what I'm trying to do. But I saw that people were losing their because our helmet could do so much. But if you're putting in a really terrible shampoo, which 99.99 % of shampoos are terrible, especially the ones you get from the salons, especially the ones that are like name brand, ⁓ they're terrible. And so came up with the shampoo ⁓ an ingredient that is the best ingredient because Head & Shoulders contains pyroctone zinc. It's good, but it's very mild and it's ⁓ okay. Back 1955, that's all they had. ⁓ But a new ingredient that we came up with, it's called ⁓ pyroctone complex. ⁓ And it does is that in 40 days, you'll stop your SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Yup. Okay. Tamim Hamid: your dandruff. And dandruff is because of a 50 % of the population is allergic to this fungus that grows on top of our hair. ⁓ the same fungus that's ⁓ your toes, which called athlete's foot. It's the same fungus that's in your crotch and they call it SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Okay. ⁓ wow. yeast infection. Tamim Hamid: jock it or yeast or whatever. ⁓ then it's the same fungus that grows on ⁓ that have size 40 breasts or larger. It's the same fungus that grows underneath their breast. ⁓ so it's the same fungus that grows on our head. So the same fungus attacks our skin and feeds off of moisture, ⁓ and Whenever you have, ⁓ you when you close your, ⁓ your shoes very tight, you have fungus. When you have very tight undergarments, you fungus. When you have ⁓ a that doesn't lift up and give aeration underneath the breast, you get fungus. And then here, when you have long hair, that's why people with no, if you shave your hair, you'll never have dandruff. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Wow. This is fascinating because our teenager started having dandruff and so I got him the shampoo that I use which is called Minimalist. ⁓ Tamim Hamid: Yeah, those are no good. Unfortunately, don't have the active ingredient for antifungal. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Because they have that like Malay complex which is the B5 and the amino acids in the azalea acid or whatever that doesn't count It's the only one I've ⁓ Tamim Hamid: No, it has to be an antifungal agent. There's only three antifungal agents out there. There's pyroctone zinc, is what Head & Shoulders uses. The other one is ketoconazole, but it's not good for your liver. That's the only problem. They only do 1 % solution. ⁓ number three is this pyroctone complex, which is, it literally ⁓ eliminates dandruff. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Where can people get your shampoo? I'm not worried about the book. Because everybody needs it. So I'll have to do the test because with my balsam peru and nickel allergy, if it runs in my eyes, my eyes will swell shut, bright red, all the things. So I'll have to do my little test that I do. But dang, that sounds amazing. That sounds like it's really incredible. Okay, so my final question is, and this is going to kind of pivot to, you know, maybe some taboo topics, but Tamim Hamid: Well, we just launched it. We just launched it last week. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Do you believe that whatever's happening in our environment is contributing to maybe a lack of certain kind of UV rays or light or whatever, or maybe we're sitting indoors more and we're not getting out in the sun, that could be contributing to like a more global problem? do you not see that that's necessarily a Tamim Hamid: No, absolutely. mean, the number one cause I think people are having, they're just not getting enough vitamin D. Vitamin D has 27 ⁓ diseases linked to it. So if you don't get at least 20 to 30 minutes of sunlight every day, bad is gonna happen to you. And COVID was really bad because people ⁓ were indoors, they weren't going out and still, ⁓ you what? A lot of people, they got agoraphobia COVID. A lot of people wanna get out of the house anymore. ⁓ You can see this all over. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Okay. Tamim Hamid: people are just like, hey, you know what, I wanna work from home, I wanna stay, but they don't go bike riding, they don't go walking, they don't go spend time in their gardens, but you need at least 20 minutes of light on your skin. It doesn't have to be on your face. You can take off your, you can wear shorts and have your legs receive the sunlight because it's all over. Vitamin D conversion happens in all skin cells. And so vitamin D is the number one contributor ⁓ what's happening today. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: tell the kids all the time when they say they're coming down with something, I say, go lay out on the lounger in the sun. ⁓ for a walk. If you're feeling crappy, go outside. That's what you need to do. Take your shoes off because you need to be grounded. Have your feet on the ground. You need to get some sunlight. I that. I love this episode so much because I feel like it's never – we talk about these micro issues, but it's always a macrocosm. It's always something that's usually Tamim Hamid: Yes. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ yeah. Yeah. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: much larger that contributes on all these different levels. Just to clarify for me and listeners that might be asking themselves the same question, the way a laser works, I might have you back just to explain this, ⁓ ⁓ is it light? Is that how a laser works? Tamim Hamid: Yeah, ⁓ definitely light, okay. So like, people are now confused about, hey, what about red light therapy ⁓ and is LEDs and what is light? So listen, light, it's a special form of light. It's a light, but it's coherent. That means it goes. in one direction. know, like when you have a flashlight, the flashlight goes everywhere. It's got about 180 degree, 200 degree beam. And the only difference between light, know, laser light and other lights is that it's very focused. So it needs it to go down to the, you need laser light to go down to the follicle, which is five millimeters deep. You can't do it with the flashlight. You can't do it with that. So. We use laser light to get deep into the follicles. Now all these, you know, gimmicks are out there with LED masks and red light. All those are garbage. Don't ever buy a LED mask. Because there's seven layers of on skin ⁓ LED light goes maybe to the first layer. And that's it. Don't waste your money. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: So, about the things that are using the infrared ⁓ Is that also true then? Tamim Hamid: ⁓ So infrared, okay, so you have okay, it's kind of hard to explain So here's the visible light spectrum, right? You have ultraviolet here. You're just like the rainbow, right? When you look at the rainbow, you always see violet and blue and then ⁓ then there's purple, then there's green, and then there's orange and all of that, and then becomes red here, right? That's always the waveform of the rainbow. It goes like this. So infrared is on this side of the light spectrum. So infrared is, really no such thing as infrared. ⁓ because you can't see it. This is the visible light spectrum. You know what you see, you're looking at me, I'm in the visible light spectrum. So when you go outside the visible light spectrum, then you have invisible lasers. And you can't see, those are dangerous because you can't see the beam. The FDA does not allow you to have infrared. laser beam. So whoever is saying that there's infrared laser beams, it's impossible because the FDA does not allow you to have laser beams. You can't see the beam. Right? Does that make sense? SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Now I've got a whole nother round of questions. We're definitely going to have to have a laser episode because there's so much to unpack there. Tamim Hamid: Well, I'm a laser expert, so this is where you get my expertise. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Tameem, this has been ⁓ I love the conversation and I do feel like we need a whole episode on lasers. Can you share with the listeners how they can learn about therodome, where they can get your book? Your book's called Grow It Back, I believe, right? Yes. So maybe you could hold that up. And ⁓ where's best place for people to go and learn about everything that you're working on? There it is, guys. Grow It Back if you would like to enhance the hair that you have and or replenish. Tamim Hamid: Yep. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: ⁓ This is the book for you. Tamim Hamid: Yeah, this tells you it's a step-by-step guide on how to do this. I wrote it for a fifth grade level because I don't want anybody to be a PhD in laser. I did that for 12 years. I don't want anybody to do that again. I don't want anybody else to do it. But this is a step-by-step guide and you can go to theradome.com. T-H-E-R-A-D-O-M-E. Theradome.com. SkyTalkDoc- Dr. Michaela: Yeah.
