• 0:39
[SPEAKER_00]: We are inching closer to episode 100.
• 0:41
[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy to think, right?
• 0:44
[SPEAKER_00]: We've been at this thing for a little bit over two years now.
• 0:47

• 1:00
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got another episode that is hot.
• 1:03
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm self-conscious right now, if you're watching on video, my mom told me last week that my knuckles were ashy, if my knuckles were ashy, forgive me.
• 1:10
  [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
• 1:11
[SPEAKER_00]: We will have a good time today.
• 1:12
  [SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's pretty God.
• 1:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for this time together.
• 1:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for, for, for giving us the opportunity to just dig a little bit deeper on a very important topic today, give us insight we ask, amen.
• 1:26
[SPEAKER_00]: What is it costing you, um,
• 1:32
[SPEAKER_00]: not to move forward on something you know you should move forward on.
• 1:36
[SPEAKER_00]: And now I know this is the topic we touched on a couple of times, but I heard something not too long ago that almost stopped me in my tracks.
• 1:43
[SPEAKER_00]: You may agree or disagree with this.
• 1:46
  [SPEAKER_00]: Check it out.
• 1:47
[SPEAKER_00]: Tune in, listen a little bit closer.
• 1:49
[SPEAKER_00]: The statement simply said that ready is a feeling and not a fact.
• 1:55
[SPEAKER_00]: Let that, let that sizzle on your spirit.
• 1:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Let think about that for a minute.
• 2:00
[SPEAKER_00]: saying or being or feeling ready is a feeling, right?
• 2:05
  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not a fact.
• 2:07
[SPEAKER_00]: And the person who shared this, this guru kind of shared this concept with his audience and I just tuned in and I kind of follow him a little bit because I was like, where's he going with this?
• 2:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Because at the end of the day, sometimes I get caught up in as you know, as we all do our feelings.
• 2:26
[SPEAKER_00]: You wake up in the morning.
• 2:28
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like, let's say meditating.
• 2:31
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like praying.
• 2:33
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like moving forward.
• 2:35
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like doing a lot of things.
• 2:38
[SPEAKER_00]: And so his whole premise was, hence why I already is a feeling and not a fact,
• 2:46
[SPEAKER_00]: or I'm sorry, yeah, ready is not ready is a feeling and we've got to deal more with the facts of our reality that it's time to move forward.
• 2:56
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll check it out because it's oftentimes you and I especially as we have reached the midpoint of this year.
• 3:06
[SPEAKER_00]: There are some things that we've got to engage in, and some days we don't feel like.
• 3:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's tell the truth, what are some things?
• 3:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know in the comments, what are some things you've got to engage in from day to day that you don't feel as if you're ready, but the fact is, you've got to do it, whether you're ready or not, right?
• 3:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Whether you feel like being a parent, come on now, right?
• 3:26
[SPEAKER_00]: You're feeling sometimes, we'll say, I don't feel like, but the fact is, you've got a parent.
• 3:32
[SPEAKER_00]: You may not feel like right going to your job but the fact is your landlord or the bank will pay your mortgage they're not going to hear that when it's time for the bills to be paid right so there's there's something that is pressing that is important for us as we as we try to navigate
• 3:55
[SPEAKER_00]: the times in which we're living in, right?
• 3:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes our feelings will be traitors.
• 4:02
  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
• 4:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes our feelings don't tell the real story.
• 4:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes our feelings, right?
• 4:13
[SPEAKER_00]: I was watching a court case not long ago.
• 4:17
[SPEAKER_00]: I was following this court case, this court case, and I felt like
• 4:24
[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like the individual was not guilty, but the facts set otherwise, right?
• 4:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you've dealt with a situation where even in your family, you felt like somebody didn't do X, Y, and Z, but the facts proved otherwise.
• 4:42
[SPEAKER_00]: And we live in the end Asian now.
• 4:44
[SPEAKER_00]: I was almost cracking up the other day because there was a gentleman who had contacted the police because he had brought the company of two young ladies to his apartment and his whole statement was that they stole from him while he was asleep.
• 5:02
  [SPEAKER_00]: They stole, I don't know, some $7,000 watch.
• 5:06
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say it was $25,000 watch that they had.
• 5:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe watch and other jewelry items
• 5:12
[SPEAKER_00]: what it is that that he was asleep now.
• 5:14
[SPEAKER_00]: Check this out because as the video as the news I was showing the footage of the young ladies entering his complex, one young lady looked at the camera like full like like no shame like hey how you're doing.
• 5:30
[SPEAKER_00]: And if this man's statement is correct, if it's not some kind of scam, if what he's saying is true, this she wasn't wise, right?
• 5:40
[SPEAKER_00]: to look in the camera, small of the camera, not trying to hide, not trying to wear a baseball hat or anything like that.
• 5:49
[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, I am a horrible person at trying to be a criminal or a crook.
• 5:53
[SPEAKER_00]: And so don't take advice from he, please don't.
• 5:56
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm thinking to myself, wow, even if somebody felt like she wasn't guilty or they were not guilty, if what he says is true and the facts add up
• 6:10
[SPEAKER_00]: It won't be hard to identify who it is because the fact is we've got your face.
• 6:16
  [SPEAKER_00]: On camera, here's what we're going.
• 6:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Because some of you right now don't feel like.
• 6:24
[SPEAKER_00]: because check this out, I work with schools, right?
• 6:28
[SPEAKER_00]: And school is out for me.
• 6:32
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, just not long ago, my son, who is on some a break, he's just five years old, but he's on some a break from his regular schooling cycle.
• 6:42
[SPEAKER_00]: He's in summer camp now and my wife had the great idea of him not falling too far behind, in other words,
• 6:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Not so much falling behind, but forgetting the skills he developed throughout this past school year.
• 6:57
[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't we revisit some of the things?
• 6:58
[SPEAKER_00]: She's been out about a month now, a little under a month.
• 7:01
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I don't revisit a couple of things to see if we can just keep them on the right track.
• 7:06
  [SPEAKER_00]: Loan, behold.
• 7:08
[SPEAKER_00]: as we presented it to him, he was almost as if he was sharing with my wife and I that I don't feel like I'm ready to do that.
• 7:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like doing what it is that you asked him to do.
• 7:24
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like doing what the fact is young brother.
• 7:30
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to do this work and I see began to do his work and has he began to go over some things that he learned all last school year it was ever done.
• 7:42
[SPEAKER_00]: That he was in need of a little bit of a brush up.
• 7:45
[SPEAKER_00]: He was in need of a little bit of a refresher because he hadn't been engaged in those things for the past few weeks.
• 7:51
  [SPEAKER_00]: Just schools been out.
• 7:52
[SPEAKER_00]: He's been on chill mode, right?
• 7:55
[SPEAKER_00]: And for many of us,
• 7:57
[SPEAKER_00]: There are some things that we were once engaged in that we're helping us move in the right direction.
• 8:05
[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what it is, it could be relationship repair.
• 8:08
[SPEAKER_00]: It could be the fact that you were on track in your own schooling journey and you were on track to get your certification or you were on track to put yourself in position for that promotion.
• 8:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever was and you kind of got rusty because you are no longer engaged in because you don't feel like it.
• 8:28
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like doing whatever it is that's going to set you up, but check this out because some of you, if you, if you're honest about it, the things that you don't feel like doing, you know that those things will push you and pull you closer to where you want to go, check it out because everybody that I know that like shortcuts, their reward is often short lived.
• 8:54
[SPEAKER_00]: For instance, and I'm not against people who take the shortcut route when it comes to let's say weight loss.
• 9:02
[SPEAKER_00]: And for certain reasons, people have to do it.
• 9:05
[SPEAKER_00]: I understand some people have to go certain routes for health reasons or whatever the case might be.
• 9:11
[SPEAKER_00]: But oftentimes, I find people who, and I don't want to make the sound like a bad thing, but sometimes people who don't go at the route of proper eating and exercise
• 9:24
[SPEAKER_00]: in the gym or days on end denying themselves because they have a weight goal or a fitness goal and some people that I find who don't go that route and who take a shorter route for whatever reason oftentimes that weight loss is that experience is short lived.
• 9:43
[SPEAKER_00]: They find themselves months or just a year later gaining back what they took a short cut to get.
• 9:52
  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm not saying because I, listen, I, I believe this.
• 9:55
  [SPEAKER_00]: I believe this.
• 9:55
[SPEAKER_00]: I, I hear people all the times say that you need 10,000 hours to master something.
• 10:01
  [SPEAKER_00]: Understand that, right?
• 10:03
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you need 10,000 hours in the gym to lose weight, right?
• 10:07
[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe you need 10,000 hours as a word to become a fitness expert.
• 10:11
  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's what they're saying.
• 10:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you need 10,000 hours to become an individual who can train others, right?
• 10:17
[SPEAKER_00]: But we're living in the NIH now where
• 10:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: The secret sauce, right?
• 10:28
[SPEAKER_00]: I heard one person talk about how, yes, I know it takes 10,000 hours, but now living day and age where people are giving away the route that they took.
• 10:36
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's almost as if you don't have to spend the 10,000 hours researching, you can spend the 10,000 hours actually doing the thing.
• 10:44
[SPEAKER_00]: because so many people now are giving us the blueprint.
• 10:47
[SPEAKER_00]: So many people you check on YouTube, you check on social media, people are giving away their knowledge and people still.
• 10:54
[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost as if you can now hack the tent.
• 10:57
[SPEAKER_00]: You can almost, I can not say this, you can almost hack somebody else's 10,000 hours by just getting their blueprint and doing it with people forget this.
• 11:07
  [SPEAKER_00]: even though I hack somebody's 10,000 hours.
• 11:10
[SPEAKER_00]: And this hack sounds like a negative thing.
• 11:12
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying this negative.
• 11:13
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying if somebody has put in the work, it's almost as if like my son, like, hey, there's some things that I went through, son.
• 11:19
  [SPEAKER_00]: My parents just will.
• 11:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Some things that they went through, if they passed, they said, hey, he was a hack.
• 11:24
  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't go this route.
• 11:25
  [SPEAKER_00]: We went that route.
• 11:26
[SPEAKER_00]: And here's how it ends, right?
• 11:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with my son, I'm like, son.
• 11:30
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this is, I know you got to live your own life, but here is a hack.
• 11:32
[SPEAKER_00]: He was a, he was a golden nugget.
• 11:35
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll bend down that path before, right?
• 11:37
[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to make sure that you stay on the straight narrow path, don't go down this road, right?
• 11:42
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm trying to give him an opportunity to hack into my 10,000 hours, but at the same time, you still have to put in your own work.
• 11:50
  [SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense.
• 11:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Like somebody can give me the blueprint.
• 11:56
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't have to go in the library.
• 11:57
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of you are too young to know about a library.
• 12:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Back then, they had to go in the library at a library card, right?
• 12:03
[SPEAKER_00]: And we would check out books, right?
• 12:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And do now people all, you know, you go online, you're auditable books, we didn't have all that stuff when I was growing up, right?
• 12:13
[SPEAKER_00]: But if somebody's gonna let you hack their 10,000 hours, understand this, the fact is you still need to put in
• 12:26
[SPEAKER_00]: You still have to, right?
• 12:29
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say if LeBron James came by your house and said, hey, when I was child prodigy, when I was a young athlete, you know, they didn't have access to this when I was growing up, but now I discovered this.
• 12:45
[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the way you can, you can, you can kind of get, get that, get a head start on this based on what I've already been through.
• 12:57
[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to start trusting the facts.
• 13:08
[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, over your feelings.
• 13:11
[SPEAKER_00]: I want you in order for you to reach your goals to live out your fullest potential.
• 13:17
[SPEAKER_00]: To get to a place where you understand that there is power, yes,
• 13:28
[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to invite you to push past all the stuff that you think feed your field all the stuff that actually does feed your feelings and get down and allow the facts.
• 13:47
[SPEAKER_00]: to inform your journey, to inform your decisions, and to inform your posture to board the goals that you have yet to achieve, but you've set them for 2026.
• 13:59
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that as you've listened to our journey today, that you understand that I am not for one moment saying that your feelings aren't valid.
• 14:14
[SPEAKER_00]: But I am saying that above your feelings, I want you to start operating based on what's factual.
• 14:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Because feelings oftentimes are fleeting.
• 14:26
[SPEAKER_00]: We can feel one way in a moment and that feeling can move and can go another way and we can find ourselves in another position where, oh, that feeling on last 10 minutes, I'm good.
• 14:40
[SPEAKER_00]: And we still left with the facts of the matter.
• 14:43
[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of facts to inform your decisions.
• 14:45
[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of facts to inform how you move forward and let the chips fall where they may.
• 14:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope today you've got something that's gonna help you go and grow and grow and grow.
• 14:56
[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you'll be so kind and share this episode out.
• 14:59
[SPEAKER_00]: Let somebody else know about the reality that it's more powerful for you to go with the facts as opposed to your feelings.
• 15:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Have a great rest of your day, have a great rest of your week.
• 15:13
  [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
