- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody,
- 0:06Speaker 1: y'are listening to the voice.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Come on digny now.
- 0:10Speaker 1: One and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. I
- 0:13Speaker 1: have something, and it so describes how I was living.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It so captures the feelings that I had about beginning
- 0:25Speaker 1: on the pathway of my dreams. It so describes how
- 0:29Speaker 1: I felt when I was about to attempt something. And
- 0:34Speaker 1: I have some striking news for you. It describes often
- 0:38Speaker 1: how I feel still today to a degree. So let
- 0:42Speaker 1: me tell you what that is. Here's an analogy that
- 0:46Speaker 1: I've heard a couple of different ways, but I've kind of,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you know, fixed it around to where I can drink
- 0:53Speaker 1: it better, and I think it fits my personality to
- 0:57Speaker 1: describe it to people best this way. Talked often about
- 1:01Speaker 1: the urgency of doing something with your life, of getting
- 1:06Speaker 1: started today, of stopping the procrastination and putting it off,
- 1:10Speaker 1: and waiting on all your ducks to line up in
- 1:13Speaker 1: a row, and waiting until the stars aligned themselves. If
- 1:17Speaker 1: you're waiting on such a thing, you're never gonna get started.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I don't know too many people who can say that
- 1:23Speaker 1: all the ducks just lined up in the row.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Things happen.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Even when you get them lined up, one of the
- 1:29Speaker 1: ducks get out of line, or somebody knock over the domino.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Something happens. But here's the point I'm getting at.
- 1:37Speaker 1: God has so many blessings available to you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You who's listening.
- 1:47Speaker 1: God has so many blessings available to you from.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Where you are right now.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I don't care what you've gotten yourself into or what
- 1:57Speaker 1: you've done. God has so many blessings that he can
- 2:02Speaker 1: send your way.
- 2:05Speaker 2: But you have to do something.
- 2:08Speaker 1: See a lot of people just sit around and go man,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I don't know, and something always happening to you. You're
- 2:13Speaker 1: always getting a break, You're always doing this. You always
- 2:16Speaker 1: doing man, do nothing come my way. Listen to me.
- 2:19Speaker 1: If nothing ever comes your way. You know why that is.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It's because you're not doing anything. I promise you you're not.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Here's a deal. God has all these blessings he wants
- 2:30Speaker 1: to send you, but you got to give him something
- 2:32Speaker 1: to work with. Now, come on, God will bless you.
- 2:37Speaker 1: God can touch people's hearts on your behalf. He can
- 2:40Speaker 1: move situations around for you. He can align the stars.
- 2:44Speaker 1: He can set the ducks up in the row, but
- 2:46Speaker 1: align the stars and move people around, and touch people's
- 2:49Speaker 1: hearts and set.
- 2:50Speaker 2: The ducks up in the row.
- 2:52Speaker 1: For what have you put forth any effort? Have you
- 2:55Speaker 1: made a single step in any direction to do the
- 2:59Speaker 1: right thing the right way that gives him something to
- 3:02Speaker 1: put his finger on. Come on, man, God can only
- 3:07Speaker 1: bless you according to your faith. If you have a
- 3:11Speaker 1: little bit of faith, give him that, Let him work
- 3:13Speaker 1: with that. You know, man, I didn't always start with
- 3:16Speaker 1: these speeches you hear in the morning. Now. I ain't
- 3:18Speaker 1: always had these. I grew to these. I stumbled my
- 3:22Speaker 1: way to these. I messed up my way to these here.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I got it wrong so many times to be able
- 3:29Speaker 1: to sound like I got some sense, I said it often.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Failure is a wonderful teacher. Do you know how many
- 3:36Speaker 1: times I have had to have failed to have what
- 3:39Speaker 1: I have in my head today? I'm telling you, man,
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's a process. People get mad at the process. You
- 3:46Speaker 1: got to do something to give God something to work with.
- 3:49Speaker 2: He'll bless you.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But what you want me to bless If you ain't
- 3:52Speaker 1: putting forth any effort, you can get blessed from wherever
- 3:55Speaker 1: you are in your life, wherever your starting point is,
- 3:59Speaker 1: wherever you find yourself wound up. You can get it
- 4:02Speaker 1: back from there. I've done it, man, by the grace
- 4:05Speaker 1: of God, I've done it.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I got over.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Man. I learned some things along the way. Because here's
- 4:11Speaker 1: the deal. As long as God keeps waking you up
- 4:13Speaker 1: in the morning, he ain't through with you yet. When
- 4:15Speaker 1: he's done, you're done. But if God still has a
- 4:18Speaker 1: plan for you you wake up in the morning, he
- 4:20Speaker 1: still got some more work for you to do. You
- 4:22Speaker 1: wake up in the morning. So if you keep waking up, man,
- 4:25Speaker 1: it's something that God wants from you, would love to
- 4:29Speaker 1: have from you, and he can work with you, man,
- 4:31Speaker 1: if you just walk towards him a little bit.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Here's the deal.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I know it's hard for the average person to start
- 4:39Speaker 1: because the fear of the unknown is incredible.
- 4:42Speaker 2: What if I fail? What if I don't get picked?
- 4:45Speaker 1: You know, one of the hardest things I ever did
- 4:47Speaker 1: was walking in to quit my job. Oh man, let
- 4:50Speaker 1: me tell you about that day when I decided that
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was gonna be a full time comedian after winning
- 4:56Speaker 1: an amateur night one time, quitting your jail, following your dream,
- 5:03Speaker 1: going for it despite all the nay says, it's like
- 5:06Speaker 1: stepping off a cliff. It's like actually just walking off
- 5:10Speaker 1: the edge of a cliff, hoping, hoping now not really knowing,
- 5:17Speaker 1: but hoping. Hoping is the bad basis of faith. I
- 5:24Speaker 1: stepped off that cliff hoping that my parachute would open
- 5:30Speaker 1: and allow me to drift down.
- 5:33Speaker 2: See.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I've never scott dived before, but I would imagine part
- 5:36Speaker 1: of the thrill. And I don't know this because I'm
- 5:38Speaker 1: not going to sCOD dive to find out. I think
- 5:42Speaker 1: part of the thrill for people is the danger part
- 5:46Speaker 1: of throwing yourself out a plane and how it feels
- 5:49Speaker 1: to be free falling, but the whole time they're free falling,
- 5:53Speaker 1: having this exhilarating over the top moment.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You have got to believe in your heart of heart cards.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You have got the hope with everything in you that
- 6:03Speaker 1: when you pull this cord the shoot opens or else.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This ain't a good move at all. But you've packed
- 6:10Speaker 1: your shoote yourself. You've taken the lessons, so you go
- 6:13Speaker 1: ahead and you make the leap. Now, the only thing
- 6:15Speaker 1: about quitting your job and following your dream is you
- 6:18Speaker 1: ain't really been trained all that good for this. You
- 6:21Speaker 1: done packed your shoot, but you ain't never opened it before.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So I walked off this cliff. That's what it was like.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And you following your dreamers like you walking off a cliff.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Here's the part where people don't never make the jump.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They see somebody like myself who jumped off the cliff
- 6:38Speaker 1: and the paschute don't open right away, and I hit
- 6:41Speaker 1: a couple of rocks on the way down.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I got my back cut up pretty bad.
- 6:46Speaker 1: They see that three years living in a car, man,
- 6:49Speaker 1: he got it life toe down jumping off that cliff.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I ain't jumping off that cliff. But see what you
- 6:54Speaker 1: don't understand is you don't know it. But eventually the
- 6:59Speaker 1: shoot we'll open. And I'm at the parachute opening part
- 7:03Speaker 1: of my life, man, where the shoot then open and
- 7:06Speaker 1: I'm drifting and I'm able to.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Guide my chute over the Paris and glide.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I've glided over the African and seen what it looked like.
- 7:14Speaker 2: It's a slow ride down.
- 7:16Speaker 1: When the pass chute finally opened and my back didn't
- 7:19Speaker 1: heal too and the cuts.
- 7:21Speaker 2: That I had on me, I remember now I know
- 7:23Speaker 2: how to stay away from the edge.
- 7:25Speaker 1: But the Paris chute then opened, and I'm enjoying my
- 7:28Speaker 1: life for the first time. I'm gliding, but I got
- 7:32Speaker 1: hit up against the rock. I can see more. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: get a chance to see more things. I get to
- 7:37Speaker 1: glide and see more parts of the world. I'm living
- 7:40Speaker 1: my dream. Your parachute is gonna open, but I'll tell
- 7:43Speaker 1: you one thing for shore, It'll never open if you
- 7:46Speaker 1: don't step off that cliff. You got to step off
- 7:48Speaker 1: that cliff. God to get the passchute open for you.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But you got to jump, baby. That's the hard part,
- 7:54Speaker 1: ain't it now. Caution, it is the end of this
- 7:56Speaker 1: story right here today, when you jumping, you're
- 7:58Speaker 2: Listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
