- 0:00Speaker 1: What a statement game for Texas.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Huge statement game.
- 0:03Speaker 1: What an unbelievable opportunity to fold the tank, to not
- 0:08Speaker 1: be big time, to not come up big. But you
- 0:11Speaker 1: know what? There's two things that I really, really loved
- 0:13Speaker 1: about this game. Texas didn't blink. They got down 20.
- 0:17Speaker 1: They stayed this course. They kept going. And I loved angry, cantankerous,
- 0:22Speaker 1: frustrated Sark. I love that.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You like to run off.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Bro, Sark bothers me a little bit. Listen, it's just personality.
- 0:31Speaker 1: He's a great coach. He's so California and so cool.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I love ticked off angry Sark. And I think Texas
- 0:39Speaker 1: fed off of it. And Texas came out and made plays.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You got to show me now. Teach me something. Let's go.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Let me teach you something right here, big dog. Hold on.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Let me get my magic pen now because we invested
- 0:49Speaker 3: inside of the magic pen. Magic pen is right here.
- 0:52Speaker 3: All right, look. The difference in this game. was the
- 0:55Speaker 3: line of scrimmage. Tale of two halves. First half, Texas
- 0:59Speaker 3: did not capitalize on the opportunities. Second half, they was like,
- 1:03Speaker 3: you know what? We don't have anything to lose. We
- 1:05Speaker 3: got to control the line of scrimmage. And how did
- 1:08Speaker 3: they do that? Two names, Hollywood Smothers and also Raleigh Brown.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Let me show you the tape right here.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Boom.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Right here. Okay, hold on. We got the play.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Look at the offensive line up front.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Running over people, bumbling and stumbling. This is so good.
- 1:28Speaker 1: They're running back another couple yards down the field.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I'm going to slow it down for you right here.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Look at this.
- 1:35Speaker 3: These guys right here. This is what it's all about. X, X, X, X, X, X.
- 1:42Speaker 3: What exactly is that? It's a hat on a hat.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Football terms for all of the people out there because
- 1:48Speaker 3: I know you can get it. When you got a
- 1:50Speaker 3: hat on a hat, this allows the running back to
- 1:52Speaker 3: be able to get north-south, get positive yards.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And look at that. Breaking tackles.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And as an offensive lineman, and just as a team,
- 2:03Speaker 3: if you're sitting down on the sideline, you love that.
- 2:07Speaker 3: You love that. It energizes you. Let me take you
- 2:09Speaker 3: to another play.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Now.
- 2:13Speaker 3: We talked about Hollywood Smothers. My MVP of the game,
- 2:17Speaker 3: Relique Brown. I had a chance to see this young
- 2:19Speaker 3: man play at Arizona State last year.
- 2:23Speaker 2: They run a counter play. Oh, this is so good.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Let me take it back for the people who was
- 2:28Speaker 3: nodding on me, like you in church.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Right here.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Here we go again. Okay, let's get the pin. The
- 2:33Speaker 2: magic pin is out. Hat for a hat. Right here.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Now.
- 2:39Speaker 3: When you got a hat for a hat with Relique Brown,
- 2:42Speaker 3: what makes him so special as a running back DP,
- 2:45Speaker 3: he does a good job of getting north-south, but just
- 2:48Speaker 3: anticipating where the holes will be.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Hat for a hat.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Also nice to be that short and hide behind the
- 2:56Speaker 1: line because he is tiny, but he's swole.
- 2:59Speaker 3: They got him listed at 5'9. I don't know if
- 3:02Speaker 3: he really is that, though.
- 3:03Speaker 1: In heels, he is.
- 3:04Speaker 2: In heels, right? Let's go. Here he goes again.
- 3:07Speaker 3: They got him in the shotgun. This is one of
- 3:10Speaker 3: my favorite plays and all of this happened inside of
- 3:12Speaker 3: the fourth quarter.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Oh, really? Don't do him like that. Let me show
- 3:16Speaker 2: you this. All right.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Calls for the motion down. We got this is the seventh.
- 3:24Speaker 3: This is the seventh man right here. He's the seventh
- 3:27Speaker 3: man in the box. You got a hat for a
- 3:29Speaker 3: hat on all of these guys in here. That means.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Relief you have to make this guy miss. This is
- 3:37Speaker 3: the person who I want you to see as we
- 3:39Speaker 3: start to take back.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Can you make it miss?
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yes, you can and what happens when you make the
- 3:46Speaker 3: one guy miss you get 12 yards after the first
- 3:49Speaker 3: initial part of the contact. So When I talk about
- 3:53Speaker 3: Relique Brown and the running game of Texas, they did
- 3:56Speaker 3: a wonderful job of understanding the assignment. But more than anything,
- 4:00Speaker 3: they knew they needed to continue to keep the clock running,
- 4:03Speaker 3: convert on third downs. And they did that by getting
- 4:07Speaker 3: a lot on first and second downs, not getting into.
- 4:09Speaker 2: The third down opportunity. Now, I know you saw a
- 4:12Speaker 2: lot of things.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I need to see what you saw, big dog.
- 4:16Speaker 1: First of all, I like that you gave credit to
- 4:19Speaker 1: everybody else. That's good. Because if we're being honest, there's
- 4:25Speaker 1: a couple things that happened. When Texas got down... They
- 4:29Speaker 1: just had to go no huddle. Yep. Texas needs to
- 4:31Speaker 1: consider going no huddle the rest of the season. Really?
- 4:34Speaker 1: They need to consider that.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Arch was better. He was better.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Arch processed better. Defenses get a lot more vanilla. It
- 4:42Speaker 1: becomes easier to read. But here's the thing. The running
- 4:45Speaker 1: game helped get them there 100%. But Arch made a
- 4:49Speaker 1: couple of plays that you just got to tip the
- 4:52Speaker 1: cap and say, that's a heck of a play. You're
- 4:54Speaker 1: down 20. You're down 20. You're not even at midfield, man. Like,
- 4:59Speaker 1: you're down 20 points. Gotta have it. Ball game's over.
- 5:03Speaker 1: The ball game's over if you miss this. And this
- 5:06Speaker 1: is what Arch was able to do, man. Scramble, run
- 5:08Speaker 1: to his right, throw across his body, find the tight end.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He gets upfield and gets the first down. Ball game's over. Again,
- 5:16Speaker 1: we can show you these plays after play where ball
- 5:18Speaker 1: game's over.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Another one.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Another fourth and six. This is a fourth and six.
- 5:22Speaker 1: This is ball game over. Down by two scores. Got
- 5:26Speaker 1: to have it to cut it to six. Laser beam.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Right over the middle of the field. Arch got down,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and then I think he was like, okay, I got
- 5:36Speaker 1: to let it rip. I got to let it go.
- 5:38Speaker 1: If Arch will do that and he'll just play and
- 5:40Speaker 1: let it rip and not worry about consequences, he's a
- 5:43Speaker 1: better player. When he sits in there and he pats
- 5:46Speaker 1: too much and he doesn't want to make a mistake,
- 5:48Speaker 1: so making it simple, getting the running game going, letting
- 5:50Speaker 1: him run, and then get him on the perimeter, roll
- 5:53Speaker 1: him out, make life easier for him. But Arch showed
- 5:57Speaker 1: you some plays, and he said it in the press
- 5:59Speaker 1: conference best at the end. He was like, hey, man.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I was not ready to come in here and address
- 6:02Speaker 1: y'all and say Texas ain't good again. That's what he
- 6:06Speaker 1: said in the press conference.
- 6:06Speaker 2: He said he had nightmares.
- 6:08Speaker 1: He had nightmares. I like that.
