- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where he left off with the tovin oh Well interview
- 0:10with Congress question and is it right behind that lieutenant
- 0:15went up and did account or around that ten South
- 0:18but not actually in the shoe? Is that correct answer?
- 0:21To be honest, I know she didn't do it in
- 0:23the shoe, but I can't recall if she did ten South. Question.
- 0:27Around five point thirty that morning, there was some kind
- 0:29of switch where mister Thomas went to relieve the ten
- 0:32South guard and that guard went to get food. Is
- 0:34that right? Answer? Correct question? Okay? Is a right that?
- 0:39There was some kind of confusion about whether or not
- 0:42control had given permission for all that to happen. Answer?
- 0:46It was the lieutenant. So ten South called and I answered,
- 0:50and he said that the lieutenant said to relieve him
- 0:52to go get food. So I didn't believe him, so
- 0:55I called the lieutenant's office and asked did she say that?
- 0:58But by the time I called the lieutenant office, lieutenant
- 1:01that was on staff didn't answer or wasn't there. So
- 1:04when I asked Lieutenant Jean, he said he doesn't know
- 1:06anything about that, because he would have been just coming
- 1:09on and Thomas said he will go. Question I understand
- 1:14if you remember, what was it that caused you not
- 1:16to believe that ten South Guard in the first place. Answer,
- 1:20because it's not you're not supposed to go outside to
- 1:22get food. Question a couple of questions on those Google
- 1:26searches that were being discussed last round. The time stamp
- 1:29on those was around five forty two am and five
- 1:32point fifty two am. You described a little bit about
- 1:35clicking a pop up. The records that were in these
- 1:38DOJ files seemed to indicate an actual Google search for
- 1:42latest on Epstein and jail, But they also had a
- 1:45Google search for latest on Omar Amanat, who is some
- 1:49kind of famous person who was at MCC at the time.
- 1:53Is it possible that you googled both of those searches
- 1:55just out of curiosity because these are high profile people. Answer?
- 2:01So for Amanat, she actually asked me, like this is
- 2:04in general population, like, oh, do you know who I am?
- 2:07And I'm like no, And he's like he's like, oh,
- 2:11like the producer, a filmmaker or whoever. So him, I
- 2:14remember that I googled him because he was telling me
- 2:17who he was. Question, got it? I actually never heard
- 2:20of him until I was getting ready for this, But
- 2:23apparently he's famous. So if you recall running the amanat
- 2:26Google Search, and then those records also show the furniture
- 2:29searches that you were talking about, answer, uh huh question,
- 2:34and then sandwiched in between there is Google Search latest
- 2:37on Epstein in jail. Is it possible that you also
- 2:40ran that Google search? Answer? Possibly, But to the best
- 2:44of my recollection, I don't ever remember. I know what
- 2:47amonaut because we had a conversation, like he actually was like,
- 2:50do you know who I am? But as far as Epstein,
- 2:53I don't remember actually physically because every time the news
- 2:56page loads, he's on there, so you click it and
- 2:58you read question. But is it right that after the
- 3:02July twenty third incident, maybe like you and others kind
- 3:05of new at that point who Jeffrey Epstein was and
- 3:08that he was high profile in some way? Is that right? Answer?
- 3:11Correct question? So by the night of the ninth you
- 3:15were aware that Epstein was a famous person. Answer? Correct question? Okay,
- 3:20As far as the timeline before we come into discovery
- 3:23of mister Epstein's body, which you've done previously. But I'll
- 3:26just ask a few more. But before we get to
- 3:29that part, Is there anything else that happens stands out
- 3:31in your mind that night that we have not already
- 3:34talked about. Answer no question, You describe discovering along with
- 3:38mister Thomas, mister Epstein in his cell. Is it around
- 3:41six thirty am more or less for delivering breakfast? Is
- 3:44that right? Answer? Correct question? And Thomas is the one
- 3:48up at the cell door and you're back at the grill?
- 3:51Answer correct question. Thomas gets no response from Epstein, so
- 3:55he goes into the cell and that's how it starts.
- 3:57Is that right answer? Correct? Did Thomas call for a cutter?
- 4:02Answer yes question? Did you then run back to get
- 4:05a cutter? Answer? Yes question? And is that when you
- 4:09also press the medical button? Answer? Yeah, I hit the
- 4:12body alarm first and then went to go find the cutter. Question.
- 4:16Did you hear Thomas cutting the fabric at all? You
- 4:18never saw that happen? Right answer, no question. Did you
- 4:22hear a ripping? Answer? I heard a ripping? Question you did?
- 4:26Is that after? Did you return with the cutter handed
- 4:28to Thomas and then there was a rip or did
- 4:31he cut it with something that he already had. Answer No,
- 4:34I returned to ask him or was the cutter? Because
- 4:36I can't find it, and that's when I heard the rip.
- 4:38Question got it? So he had already some kind do
- 4:41you know what he had? Answer? I don't know if
- 4:44he had anything because I can't see. Question did you
- 4:47see Thomas lower Epstein to the floor and start CPR?
- 4:50Answer so I can't see all the way in like
- 4:53it is. I can't see the lowering, but I imagined
- 4:56he lowered him because you see his legs coming like
- 4:59this way. So I could only see like his legs.
- 5:02Question were you able to see whether Epstein looked blue
- 5:06or had any signs of a fight or any other
- 5:08scratches or things like that? Answer not from the door.
- 5:12When he was coming out on the stretcher, then I
- 5:14could see him fully. Question do you have a recollection
- 5:17of when you saw him come out on the stretcher?
- 5:19Did he look discolored? Answer his face? Question what color? Approximately?
- 5:23Answer blue? Question blue? Did you see anything reflecting wounds
- 5:29or scratches? I guess other than on his neck? Answer no,
- 5:33I didn't even see his neck. He just looked blue.
- 5:36Question as far as you remember did Thomas ever say
- 5:38We're going to be in so much trouble? Answer? Yes.
- 5:42Question what's your opinion of why he said that? I
- 5:45mean it sort of speaks for itself. But what was
- 5:48your what was going through your mind at that moment? Answer?
- 5:52At that moment when he said that, I didn't understand
- 5:55what he was referring to, because in my mind, I
- 5:57was like, how are we going to be in so
- 5:59much trouble if we didn't do anything to him? Question
- 6:02do you remember responding to Thomas? Answer? I didn't respond
- 6:05to him. Question were you aware in this moment that
- 6:09Epstein had been found hanging? Or were you not sure
- 6:12what was going on? Answer? Yeah, no, I don't know
- 6:16he found them. Question did you ever actually go into
- 6:18Epstein's cell? Answer? No, question, and you may have said this,
- 6:22I'm sorry if you did. Approximately how quickly did medical
- 6:26and support staff arrive after Thomas first discovered Epstein? Answer? Oh,
- 6:31they arrived like five minutes. Question the morning Watch operations
- 6:34lieutenant told the IG that when he arrived, you told
- 6:37him quote Epstein hung himself. Do you recall that happening? Answer? No?
- 6:42Question What were you doing once all the medical personnel
- 6:46arrived to start working on Epstein. Answer standing at the
- 6:50bottom of the tier. Question do you recall inmates saying
- 6:53anything to you as this was all unfolding? Answer there
- 6:57wasn't saying anything to me. They were just chanting because
- 7:00it was like everybody in the cell blox. Oh, it
- 7:01was echoes. They were chanting but not speaking to me.
- 7:05Question do you remember what they were chanting? Answer? Oh,
- 7:09y'all in so much trouble. Question did an inmate or
- 7:13the inmates or any individual inmates say that you killed them? Answer? No, never.
- 7:18Question at least one inmate said they heard an MCC
- 7:21staff member say that if Epstein was dead, it would
- 7:24be covered up. Did you say or hear anything like that?
- 7:28Answer they did not say, and I never heard anything
- 7:31like that. Question And you left the MCC once Epstein
- 7:34had been removed and that was your last shift? Answer correct.
- 7:38Question a couple of miscellaneous MCC related questions where guards
- 7:43were required to search inmates cells in the shoe. Answer yes,
- 7:46question how often would that typically happen? Answer as far
- 7:50as how often it happened, I just don't remember. Question
- 7:54was it pretty you know every shift that you were
- 7:56on did you see that happen at least once, or
- 7:59was it once made? Maybe once every couple days somebody
- 8:01would do a cell search. Answer it didn't happen on
- 8:05my shift. Question that day or at all when you
- 8:08worked in the shoe question at all I can remember
- 8:11on the four to twelve, I don't remember any cell searches.
- 8:15Question do you recall ever conducting a search on mister
- 8:17Epstein's cell? Answer never. Question. Do you recall any of
- 8:21your colleagues ever conducting a search on mister Epstein's cell?
- 8:25Answer no question. Do you recall either knowing or hearing
- 8:29colleagues discussing Epstein having extra linens in his cell? Answer
- 8:33no question. Wouldn't it have been typical for inmates to
- 8:37provide or be provided with extra linens? Is that something
- 8:41they could ask for? Answer in the shoe, no question.
- 8:45Do you recall anybody ever or I guess I should
- 8:47say this. Do you recall ever noticing as you look
- 8:49through the windows into Epstein's cell noticing more than usual
- 8:53amounts of sheets or clothes? Answer no question. I think
- 8:57you had given a quote at some point about the
- 9:00machine that other inmates would not have been given something
- 9:03like that, but Epstein was getting special treatment quote because
- 9:06of Epstein. Is that still your point of view on
- 9:09his treatment as you sit here today? Answer, I mean,
- 9:12I've never seen any other inmate with the ceapat machine.
- 9:15Question do you have any theory or did you have
- 9:18a belief at the time as to why Epstein was
- 9:20getting what seemed like special treatment? Answer no question. There
- 9:25was some discussion about a note that was found in
- 9:27Epstein's cell after he died, and it read redacted name
- 9:31left me in a lock shower for one hour, Noel
- 9:33sent me burnt food, giant bugs crawling over my hands,
- 9:36no fun Do you have any before you read about
- 9:40it in the newspapers, but back at the time, Do
- 9:42you have any knowledge of that note existing? Answer no,
- 9:46I actually saw that on sixty minutes. I never even
- 9:48saw that in the paper. Question do you recall Epstein
- 9:52ever complaining to you about the food that you brought him?
- 9:54Answer no question. Did Epstein ever complain to you about
- 9:59being left alone and locked in a shower for an hour?
- 10:01Answer no question. Did you ever hear Epstein complaining about
- 10:06bugs in the shoe? Answer no question. You were asked,
- 10:10I think earlier about the possibility of Epstein having a
- 10:12pen in a cell to write a note like that.
- 10:15Would inmates in the shoe be allowed to have pens
- 10:17in their cells? Answer so out of the allowed part,
- 10:21I'm not sure if they're allowed to be honest, I
- 10:22don't know. Question would have been surprising or unusual if
- 10:26you look through somebody cell door and saw them using
- 10:28a pen in the cell? Answer probably not question. It
- 10:33would not have seemed unusual or strange. Answer no question.
- 10:37There's a suggestion that on August ninth and tenth, Epstein
- 10:40was not in the cell which he was technically assigned.
- 10:43He was assigned in the shoe, but some other cell
- 10:45and some other tear. Do you recall ever even knowing
- 10:49that or hearing that? Answer? I never heard that question
- 10:52to inmates. Or did inmates in the shoe have ID
- 10:55cards on the door of their cell? Answer no question.
- 10:58How would you all, as guards tipic have the knowledge
- 11:00of who's supposed to be in which cell when you're
- 11:03doing your rounds. Answer a roster question and the roster
- 11:07has cell assignments. Answer correct question, But you have no
- 11:10recollection of ever looking at the roster and saying, oh, Epstein,
- 11:14I think is actually supposed to be in that one.
- 11:16Answer no question. With respect to the cameras in the shoe,
- 11:21it's been discussed only one of them was recording in
- 11:24a way that it should have been, but the other's were.
- 11:26It sounds like live streaming footage. Would you let's start with,
- 11:29would you personally have been watching the live streams of
- 11:32the other cameras in the shoe? Answer no question. Do
- 11:36you know who ordinarily would have been watching those live streams?
- 11:39Answer no question. Would you have any way of knowing
- 11:43whether anybody was monitoring those live streams throughout the night?
- 11:47Answer I don't know. Question. After Epstein's death, a Bureau
- 11:51of Prisons after action team was set up to look
- 11:54into the death. Have you ever heard of an after
- 11:57action team, either in this case or generally? Answer no,
- 12:00never heard of it. Question, so that team never contacted you?
- 12:03Answer no question. It sounds like at least one inmate
- 12:07reported that he thought was an unusual amount of document
- 12:11shedding or shredding going on by that after action team.
- 12:14Do you have any knowledge of Bureau staff shredding documents
- 12:17in the weeks following Epstein's death? Answer I don't know,
- 12:20question meaning you've never heard of that, or you don't
- 12:23remember whether or not. Answer no, So I don't know
- 12:26if that took place because my last day was the tenth,
- 12:29so I don't know. Question did anybody ever mention anything
- 12:33like that to you? Answer? No, question would that have
- 12:37been to your knowledge? Would that have been a typical
- 12:40practice in MCC shredding the documents? Is that something that
- 12:43you would see every week? Answer? I never saw it
- 12:46at all. Question There was an email in the DOJ
- 12:49file release. It was addressed to Jeffrey Epstein's brother, and
- 12:52it was from somebody with an address of es k
- 12:55A d R d one at gmail dot com. And
- 12:59this person claim that you and Michael Thomas were paid
- 13:01sixty five hundred so you would not visit prisoners, and
- 13:05therefore a man named Michael Rose entered Jeffrey Epstein's prison
- 13:08cell and strangled him. Have you ever met or heard
- 13:11of anybody named Michael Rose? Answer no. Question, as far
- 13:15as you know, is the allegation I just mentioned? True
- 13:18or untrue? Answer? As far as I know, untrue? Question?
- 13:23And have you ever heard of the sender with an
- 13:25email address escadrad one at gmail dot com. Answer never
- 13:30heard of it. Question all right, so nobody to your
- 13:32knowledge paid you or mister Thomas to your knowledge money
- 13:36not to do your rounds. Answer for me, nobody paid
- 13:39me anything in reference mister Epstein or anything surrounding him
- 13:42at all. Question just a few miscellaneous ones left. You
- 13:46mentioned injury leave early in twenty nineteen. What was the
- 13:50approximate date range for that? Answer in March twenty nineteen
- 13:54and I came back in June of twenty nineteen. Question.
- 13:58I think that was reflected in the DJ release. That's
- 14:01somewhere during that interval you traveled to China. Is that correct? Answer?
- 14:06I did go to China, but I don't remember when
- 14:08I went to China. I think it was April. Question
- 14:11and I think that's what the record suggested as well.
- 14:14I would assume, but I'm just asking that was a
- 14:16personal trip, personal tourism. Answer. I actually was going to Thailand.
- 14:21I just had to connect in China. Question got it.
- 14:24Did that trip or any conversation that you had on
- 14:27that trip relate in any way to your official duties
- 14:30at MCC Answer no. Question Did that trip or any
- 14:34conversations you had on that trip relate in any way
- 14:37to Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer no, question. I
- 14:41think we have a member who would also like a
- 14:42few questions. I'm going to turn it over, miss Stansbury.
- 14:46Thank you so much for being here today. I know
- 14:48it's been a long day and I want to just
- 14:50follow up on a few of the questions that folks
- 14:52were asked about, just for a little more detail for
- 14:55the record. So I know you've already answered a lot
- 14:58of questions about the night of, and you've answered the
- 15:00questions about things that were out of protocol special treatment.
- 15:04You mentioned the CPAP, and one of the questions that's
- 15:07been raised in commentary about the case is whether or
- 15:10not somebody who wished harm on Jeffrey Epstein. Is there
- 15:13anything that you witnessed inside of the jail that would
- 15:16indicate that somebody wished the harm? Answer? No question. Anything
- 15:20from jail management, anything from the people who worked there, Noel,
- 15:24no question, anyone any of the other cell mates or
- 15:28people who were in the area he was being kept.
- 15:30Answer no Stansbury. Okay. And you mentioned that your last
- 15:34day was on the tenth, and that was the day
- 15:36of the incident. I'm sorry I had to step out
- 15:38for part of the questions, but my understanding is that
- 15:41you were relayed that your firing was directly related to
- 15:44the night check and how it was completed. Is that right, Noel?
- 15:48To everything that took place? Question, do you feel that
- 15:51your firing was standard for something like that occurring, or
- 15:54do you feel like you're being retaliated against or was
- 15:56there anything unusual about your firing? Noel? Well, I don't
- 16:01know if i'd use those terms. I feel like Foy
- 16:05jumps in before you do. Let me talk to you
- 16:06about that, so they come back on the record, Noel. So,
- 16:10because it was Jeffrey Epstein, that's the sole reason why
- 16:13I got fired. Because all these other names and people
- 16:17that have been investigated have done the exact same thing
- 16:20and they still work for the Bureau and they are
- 16:22promoted in the Bureau. But because I happened to work
- 16:25that day and it was mister Epstein, that's why I
- 16:27got fired. So the term I would use is unfair,
- 16:31Miss Stansbury. And just to kind of follow up a
- 16:33little bit on that, do you feel like you were
- 16:35being targeted because of that or that they were trying
- 16:37to silence you or do you feel like you were
- 16:40singled out because you knew something? I hear you say
- 16:43it was unfair. But tell us your perception of why
- 16:46the fired you and not others, Noel, because I was
- 16:49the one Me and Thomas was the specific ones working
- 16:52the shift. But typically for not conducting rounds and counts,
- 16:56everybody else gets suspended and that is the punishment for that, Stansbury.
- 17:01And did the person or persons who told you that
- 17:03you were fired or that this was happening providing any
- 17:06explanation to you at the time of why are being fired?
- 17:09And if so, what did they say? Noel? They did.
- 17:12It was in a report, but I can't remember verbatim,
- 17:15like what exactly was said, but like failure to follow
- 17:18policy and rules of the Federal Bureau or prisons that
- 17:21lieutenants and everybody else they don't follow. Stansbury. Do you
- 17:26feel like the unfairness was unusual in the sense of
- 17:29like they fired you right away that day you were
- 17:32singled out, Foy, That's not what happened. She wasn't fired
- 17:36right away that day, Stansbury. Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood, Noel.
- 17:41I was placed on administrative leave right away after that
- 17:44for a while, and after November nineteenth, twenty nineteen, once
- 17:49I got indicted, then I was no longer on administrative leave,
- 17:53but then it was following two years, after more than
- 17:56two years, that I actually got terminated. Stansbury. I see, Okay,
- 18:00I'm sorry. If I had that sequencing incorrect, that's my bad.
- 18:04But going back to the question of now knowing that's
- 18:07your timeline, you said just now it was unfair, But
- 18:10do you also think it was unusual, like something about
- 18:13your termination was different than how it was normally handled
- 18:16inside the jail, someone being terminated for a report, not
- 18:19reporting and the conduct. Noel, well us because it was
- 18:24Epstein Stansbury. Okay, Noel, But if it was not Epstein
- 18:28and it was another inmate, we would have still been
- 18:30working for the Bureau of Prisons. Stansbury. Do you have
- 18:34a feeling or thought about why, aside from the fact
- 18:36that it was just a famous person. Noel, Yeah, no, Stansbury. No, okay.
- 18:42I know that you talked a little bit about the
- 18:43financial transfers that people have raised, the deposits that happened,
- 18:47and I understand that you answered some questions earlier and
- 18:51just to go back over them as I understand that
- 18:53you stated earlier that they were deposits that you made yourself. Noel, correct, question.
- 18:59Can you tell us a little bit about those What
- 19:02was the source of the money for those deposits? Foy?
- 19:04Wait wait wait, okay, they go off record, they come
- 19:07back on, Noel, The source of the money was that
- 19:10I mentioned earlier. Has nothing to do with Epstein, anyone
- 19:13related to Abstein, involved with Ebstein. No one has ever approached, offered,
- 19:17or asked anything that's concerning my money has nothing to
- 19:20go with Epstein at all. It's solely me and my
- 19:23personal savings. Stansbury got it. And I understand that you're
- 19:27not disclosing the source here, but I would like to
- 19:30offer you, if you would like, if you would like
- 19:32to put anything on the record, the official record that
- 19:34helps explain where the funding came from, to help clarify
- 19:37that for the public. We want to make sure you
- 19:39have that opportunity. And if you don't choose, that's okay too.
- 19:44We're just letting you know that that's an option. Foy.
- 19:47It's clear enough, so you're good. Stansbury, Okay. That trip
- 19:50that you took afterwards was personal nature. You went to Thailand.
- 19:55Was that a trip you financed yourself? Noel, correct, Stansbury,
- 19:58and it was just a vacation. Noel correct stands Berry
- 20:02and I think that my final question is, other than
- 20:05the things you've already shared in the room and have
- 20:07been specifically asked about, is there anything weird about the
- 20:11night that stands out in your brain that you have
- 20:13otherwise shared that you feel is important to be on
- 20:16the record, Noel no stands bery. Okay, all right, thank you,
- 20:19thank you for being here, Noel, you're welcome. Redacted. Is
- 20:24there anything else you'd like to share with the committee
- 20:26about the circumstances of mister Epstein's death, Noel, no question.
- 20:31And I think you said earlier it's your personal belief
- 20:34that mister Epstein took his own life. Is that right?
- 20:36Noel correct redacted. With that, thank you for your time today.
- 20:41We can go off the record, all right, folks. That's
- 20:43going to do it for the Tova Noel interview with Congress.
- 20:47The next one we're diving into is Bill Gates. All
- 20:52the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 20:55in the description box.
