- 1:28podcast, enjoy hail to you all. All right, folks.
- 1:35Welcome back. Welcome welcome.
- 1:38Welcome to September. It is the first day of September
- 1:43at the time that this podcast is being aired.
- 1:49I'm actually recording this off cycle because of my guest today.
- 1:55Very excited to finally be able to reveal who I have on the show
- 2:03today. And Not all that.
- 2:07Yeah. So you're going to have to
- 2:10forgive me for feeling a little bit off right now.
- 2:15I know for you guys watching, it's not gonna really feel much
- 2:18like that, but for me, it is because it is a Saturday
- 2:23morning. Well yeah, it's a Saturday
- 2:26morning. Still here for me and for my
- 2:29guests. It is a Saturday evening.
- 2:33So, I have to adjust had to adjust my recording schedule for
- 2:42my guests today, which we will be welcoming him and in just a
- 2:47moment. But now that we are in
- 2:50September, I do just want to remind everybody that there is a
- 2:55meet-up coming to the Middle Tennessee area in the Barfield
- 2:59Crescent Park in Murfreesboro Tennessee on Saturday.
- 3:03September 17th. There is a Facebook event page
- 3:06for this. It's going to be annotated
- 3:08linked down in the description or show notes wherever you catch
- 3:13all that information from. So be sure to check that out and
- 3:18if you're in the vicinity and want to come out and it is a
- 3:22potluck style Park moot. So we are asking for attendees
- 3:28to bring an item of food. To share with the folks who
- 3:34come, I'm still. Debating on what I'm going to be
- 3:39bringing up. I've heard that there's going to
- 3:41be. chili, I've heard that there's going to be maybe some
- 3:47like slider sandwiches you know, so any kind of like picnic, you
- 3:53know, cookout kind of side, you know, what you want to bring
- 3:55like a Coleslaw or a salad or, or let me call those things
- 4:02charcuterie, right? Which is just a fancy name for,
- 4:05you know, meat and cheese and vegetable or fruit tray.
- 4:11Probably going to be be bringing some chicken.
- 4:17So yeah, it's going to be again in the Barfield Crescent Park on
- 4:22Saturday, September 17th. We're expecting to get quite a
- 4:27big turnout. You know, there's people coming
- 4:30from different parts of the state of Tennessee as well as
- 4:32from out-of-state. Believe we are expecting some
- 4:35people from northern Alabama. So it's going to be fun, it's
- 4:39going to be great. I actually have a friend coming
- 4:42all the way from Missouri, to spend the weekend with me, and
- 4:45he is going to be, of course, joining us there as well.
- 4:49So, for everybody, that's looking to get together with,
- 4:54you know, like my did heathens pagans, I know we are Going to
- 5:01be talking about the cross and kill Saga.
- 5:04So if you go to the event page that's linked and stuff, you'll
- 5:09find a PDF, you know so an electronic version of that.
- 5:16I know in today's day and age, we're all very keen on the
- 5:23digital versions of things. So you have the electronic
- 5:27document in PDF form. That's Linked In the Event group
- 5:31or the event page. So if you're wanting to rush
- 5:34yourself up on the coffin, kill Saga, you can read it.
- 5:38There's also going to be a podcast linked about the stock
- 5:43as well. So, if you're the type of person
- 5:44I just likes to sit back. Listen.
- 5:47You got that. So tons of options and another
- 5:53thing too, about kind of going off track, I mentioned to you
- 5:56guys. I'm recording here on a
- 5:57Saturday, normally I record on Monday, but because of my guests
- 6:03time difference on adjusting, I'm also just like a little bit
- 6:07foggy in the head because lesson, learned, my wife loves
- 6:17to But she doesn't love to watch but she does, she loves Jason
- 6:24Aldean and watching him perform. She can watch them live perform.
- 6:29But like, she's got these like live DVDs.
- 6:33Don't ever get into a drinking event with my wife, while she's
- 6:37watching Jason Aldean. But it that way, it was a hell
- 6:42of a fun time, but boy, oh boy. I'm feeling a little bit foggy
- 6:47in the brain from that event last night.
- 6:49So I've got Some things to help settle my stomach today.
- 6:56Yeah. Alright, so now that we've got
- 7:01all the housekeeping stuff, you guys be sure.
- 7:03Please don't forget that during this time we are running a
- 7:08fundraising campaign. For my even brother who has been
- 7:12on this podcast. And the number of times, it's
- 7:15dingo, you guys should be aware know of him by now.
- 7:18And if not check my back catalog for episodes that feature bingo.
- 7:24But he is my one of my best friends in the world.
- 7:28He is my Heathen, Brother truck, my tribesmen, my go.
- 7:32The He's just going through a hard time and we're trying to
- 7:35help him with some financial aid.
- 7:38And I wanted to open this up to the larger Pagan community.
- 7:41So that there is a Kofi Link in the link tree link, that's
- 7:45posted in all of my videos and all of my podcasts but today and
- 7:50through till the next couple of months.
- 7:52So, from now until like November, we are looking to
- 7:59raise some funds for him and we have a goal set at $500.
- 8:02We're about At least the time of this recording where, you know,
- 8:06in the 40% ish range 43%. I think was last time I checked
- 8:11so by the time this airs, it could be more but check the
- 8:14kowhai linked. Specifically, I'll have that
- 8:17annotated separately so that way you're not having to scroll
- 8:20through all my links, green links, but it isn't linked
- 8:23relink. So if you see something says,
- 8:24buy me a coffee, then that's the one, but it'll be annotated
- 8:28separately as well. And for the price of a cup of
- 8:30coffee, is what, you know, it's why they call it Kofi.
- 8:33So, so, for the price of a cup of coffee, you can help out
- 8:39dingo, so check all that out. But anyway, today, let's, let's,
- 8:43let's get into our guest speaker in our guest attendee today.
- 8:49So this fellow is all the way out in the United Kingdom.
- 8:57So as far as I can recall, this is my first guest from the UK.
- 9:00I've had folks on the channel from like Norway and in other
- 9:06places of the world I've had guests are not from Australia
- 9:09and all over the United States but this is to my recollection.
- 9:12The first guest on this podcast and on the channel from the
- 9:17United Kingdom and he is a wood carver, he carves God, poles of
- 9:24various. Sizes and styles, what he does,
- 9:27he has a very unique style and his aesthetic is incredible.
- 9:31Like how he The invasions the gods and brings them to life
- 9:37through wood carving. His name is Chris, his company
- 9:40is called gum near God. Pulls and I'm very excited to
- 9:47welcome him in today to talk about, you know, all kinds of
- 9:51things. You know, carving the gods, his
- 9:52background and history within Heathen re how he even read in
- 9:55the UK. You know, I would love would
- 9:57love to talk to somebody who's actually a practicing Pagan in
- 10:01the United Kingdom vs. Practicing pagans and people I
- 10:04know here in the United States and what the differences or
- 10:06similarities with that might be and just, I don't know.
- 10:08Just get to talking about wherever our ramblings lead us.
- 10:16So for the first time on the random Heathen ramblings
- 10:19podcast, like you all to please welcome in Chris from boom, your
- 10:24goggles. All right, everybody.
- 10:31Welcome to the random Heathen ramblings podcast.
- 10:34Chris from Google near guard posts for the very first time
- 10:36here and welcome sir. All right, thanks having this
- 10:40just yeah. I was telling the audience a
- 10:43little bit before. You know I do like a intro to
- 10:46the show and I'm lighting my instance right now because this
- 10:49is kind of like a little custom here but I was telling everybody
- 10:52that you're my first guest from the UK and how excited Is are
- 10:58excited. I am to host you here and I love
- 11:02your setup, man. Like I've seen I've seen your
- 11:05videos and and and this this space that you're in right now,
- 11:10this is the serves as like you're Chill Zone.
- 11:12But also you work here to write like this is kind of like your
- 11:17your office is at work. What just outside.
- 11:19It's because I saw dust and start and stuff like that.
- 11:22Okay space. It's got its kind of everything
- 11:24to us a family. Get-together here to have
- 11:32friends over for drinks and stuff.
- 11:35It kind of serves all purposes. What was interesting is that
- 11:39anybody comes here says soon as they come in here.
- 11:42It feels different without knowing anything about the
- 11:45stuff. So there's quite a quite a
- 11:47different fit and they like it's a comfortable feeling.
- 11:50Yeah. It's Yeah, it's been a labor of
- 11:54love. It's, you know, it's first of
- 11:57incarnations worry about 10 years ago, it was like a metal
- 12:01structure that will blow over in about six different storms and
- 12:04stuff back together. And now it's something a bit
- 12:06sturdier now and hopefully sort of its state of.
- 12:10Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:13It does, it looks and it's funny how you say, we're interesting,
- 12:16rather, how you say when people come into that space they
- 12:20whether or not, they may be know, About your, you know,
- 12:23religious practices paganism. Anything like that.
- 12:26They just it feels welcoming and it feels different when you step
- 12:29into that space. And I've I have a similar thing
- 12:32to compare to that or I can relate to that.
- 12:35Because over here, my, my group of tribesmen, right?
- 12:42Like my nearest and dearest, people who I practice, Heathen
- 12:45ring with. We have a space on, it's like
- 12:50some one of my friends, his parents property Has are Vey or
- 12:55are Grove at one point in time. They called it the Woodland
- 12:59Cathedral and it's a huge encounter or encirclement, you
- 13:04know, like a it's rock enclosure you know.
- 13:06So it's a round circle space but people that have come there in
- 13:11the past who aren't even Pagan step there and they immediately
- 13:17feel just the different I don't know energy and and just feeling
- 13:22around it and with as much work as you do near and around that
- 13:25space and how you, you know, venerate or practice it's no
- 13:29wonder to me. You know.
- 13:30It's no surprise to me that it could be felt by others.
- 13:34Yeah, thanks is, it's interesting.
- 13:50Both, you know, our ancestors, just knew that leaning
- 13:55Stonehenge. They drag those stones for
- 13:57hundreds of miles, to put them. There was a reason why they did
- 14:01it. Yeah.
- 14:03Yeah. Some places are just just
- 14:04special on. Yeah, absolutely.
- 14:07And so what I would love to continue to talk more about that
- 14:10but I do want to let people know or give some people that have
- 14:13maybe never heard of you or or know what it is.
- 14:15You do so good. In here.
- 14:17God posts. This is your Wood carving
- 14:21Venture, right? Your wood carving business, this
- 14:23is what you do to. Yeah.
- 14:25Yeah. Bring life to the gods as a
- 14:27moment. It's a, it's a hobby and it's a
- 14:30passion role in the business. The the long-term goal is to
- 14:32make it business. I do it alongside a full-time
- 14:36job and parenting and everything else kind of in a position now
- 14:40where I've been at it for nine years now this year and it's,
- 14:45you know, if it's a great position to be in that my demand
- 14:48far outstrips Gasps, it's great. That moment them a little
- 14:53expensive part of the world and having done a little bit of
- 14:55maths. It's just not quite there yet,
- 14:57but we could live comfortably off.
- 14:59It without it, becoming a pressure and I never wanted to
- 15:01become a pressure. It's something that I love
- 15:03doing, I do it to relax until wind, you know, I never want to
- 15:07be doing it, a lot of those debates.
- 15:09Oh yeah, then the, you know, the business side of it is coming
- 15:14but I'm in no rush with at the moment.
- 15:16Okay? So how long so you say nine
- 15:18years? So nearly a Jade, you've been
- 15:20carving. Yeah, it's incredible to think.
- 15:23We're ready. How fast that time is gone, but
- 15:27also feels like, I've been doing it.
- 15:29My whole life was, and just how many pieces I've done in that
- 15:33time. I mean, I never set out to do
- 15:36it. I always used to just for fun.
- 15:38I would I would draw and I was Kate, mythological characters
- 15:42and eventually carrots. I was drawing starting to take
- 15:45on this kind of chisel blocking effect and I was looking at him.
- 15:49Get that might look quite cool 3D night and one day I was just
- 15:55clearing out a garden shed in our old place and I just found
- 15:58this small piece of Timber. Just don't care of Timber and I
- 16:02just looked in it and I just thought I'm going to, I'm going
- 16:04to give it a go. I'm going to try with that piece
- 16:06of Timber. So just took a just a basic
- 16:08knife and I sat down and I worked away a little thought
- 16:13over 3 or 4 days. Only turned out pretty good to
- 16:16know. I was really pleased with it and
- 16:18I posted a few Pictures of the Facebook.
- 16:20And some of my friends said, wow, that's pretty cool.
- 16:23Could you do me one with, in a jar of the one?
- 16:25They posted pictures on Facebook of the therefore, it started
- 16:27messaging me and all of a sudden it becomes a thing, you know?
- 16:31Yeah. And now I've done hundreds and
- 16:36sent them all over the world and it's it's grown into something.
- 16:39I never intended it to or anticipated that it would.
- 16:44But it's It's been an incredible journey and I love it more than
- 16:51anything I've ever done. Friendships you make another
- 16:56context. You have with people this
- 16:59hearing will create meetings to people is yeah it's really
- 17:03humbling. Sometimes it's quite hard to
- 17:05believe that you would like to know that other people and feel
- 17:11the energy as well. Yeah.
- 17:14Is Is really look like it's rewarding, isn't it?
- 17:20Is, it's something to have anything more fulfilling than
- 17:23that. Recently, I visited have a
- 17:28friend of mine, he's not leaving because of pagan.
- 17:30He knows nothing about it. We were doing a bit of work
- 17:32together and I took him a little Odin.
- 17:35Pendant are made and he unwrapped it held it in his hand
- 17:40and he sat down and he started to cry and said I'm so
- 17:44embarrassed. The same time, I don't know what
- 17:49it is but this is It's just done something to me, there's
- 17:52something in it for something I can feel from it and it's see
- 17:56that percent. It's not always lovely to get
- 17:58messages from people. When they say, when they are
- 17:59wrap it and feel it and you feel a bit to see that firsthand.
- 18:02See something. You know experience, what I put
- 18:08into it, it's you oh yeah there is there is nothing more.
- 18:12Fulfilling, somebody who knows nothing about it.
- 18:16You know who's only ever seen Logan and a Marvel.
- 18:20Yeah. You know to feel that was that
- 18:23was that was really quite alive. Yeah.
- 18:27I mean yeah, definitely I think that, you know, so I have some
- 18:35guard posts, God poles, whatever you want to call him,
- 18:38representations of the gods that a friend of mine here in the
- 18:40states, he carves, as well. And its really, I love seeing
- 18:44how different Craftsman craftspeople, Envision, the gods
- 18:51and how they bring an inanimate object like wood or stone or
- 18:56whatever and how they give that item a personality, a
- 19:02anesthetic, you know, and the differences between maybe you
- 19:07and and and other people that that craft, you know, it's
- 19:13they're all beautiful in their own way that they're all unique
- 19:15and that's what I think is so great about working with folks
- 19:19who do this with their hands. Because, you know, you could go
- 19:22to, you know, an online store or get something that is like a
- 19:27literally, a casted mold of, of a figure, you know what I mean?
- 19:33Like, a statue or whatever, and there's literally hundreds or
- 19:36thousands of them being produced, and they are.
- 19:38So, you know, nothing against people that want to get that.
- 19:42If it's To them, right? But I'm like well, you got
- 19:45something that, you know, 500 other people across the world.
- 19:47Have what, where's the, you know, the art, or the Odin, or
- 19:51the Thor, whatever that you carve today, it's not going to
- 19:55be exactly the same as the one that you carve tomorrow.
- 19:57And it's not the same as exactly as the one you carved last week.
- 20:01Like there's, there's different unique, exactly.
- 20:05How you to Rabbit the same. Oh, you know, I don't think
- 20:10like, you say, I love seeing other people's work as well.
- 20:12You know, I don't ever want to be the guy who can't stop posts.
- 20:16I love seeing other people's work.
- 20:18The thing that plastic plugs me it doesn't really bother me is
- 20:20when I see people copy my stuff. There's a few had some some
- 20:25words about that. So you know, the unique
- 20:37yourself, right? Like, you know do something of
- 20:40your own vision? Yes, exactly.
- 20:44That. You know my style is not an
- 20:46emulation of anyone else. Something that comes from my
- 20:49relationship with God since developed in recent years.
- 20:53So when I see someone do a direct copy of one of my pieces
- 20:56that special Quest since it's only an evil whole process and
- 21:01what it means. So I tend to be quite
- 21:05diplomatically. I don't know, it's probably a
- 21:09little bit hostile and, ya know. That it's not acceptable and
- 21:14whatever spirit is, maybe you need to reconsider that, I get
- 21:20where you're coming from. I get I definitely get where you
- 21:21coming from. Most people are finding out that
- 21:24they look sorry. I didn't the other thing too is
- 21:35like when it's yeah. Well the other thing too is when
- 21:39you carve the way you carve and when like for instance, you
- 21:41know, Oh my god. Post here that I have Odin's
- 21:45beard. Woodworking is the name of the
- 21:47of the company that I got my stuff from and Matt carves,
- 21:50these are has carved all of my Idols or God pulls, you know,
- 21:57the energy, the spirit behind what you do, it's not just a
- 22:00physical item anymore. The you're bringing something to
- 22:03life and part of your life is being imbued into that object.
- 22:08So the spirit behind it, I think that's what I think that's part
- 22:10of what people are feeling. Like you say your friend who's
- 22:13not Pagan and doesn't understand or follow anything that maybe we
- 22:16understand or follow still feel something.
- 22:19It's because they're your friend there.
- 22:21Somebody who connects with you and and and that connection is
- 22:24is alive inside of this. Otherwise inanimate object and
- 22:28you can't again you can't recreate that bye.
- 22:32You know, copying from somebody else or exactly the same way.
- 22:37Yeah, I think you're right. You're absolutely right.
- 22:40I think any human energy and creativity that goes into
- 22:45something that has a resonance that other people feel, you
- 22:48know. Yeah and like said when it is
- 22:51its Solace copy of see if it's not there.
- 22:55It's yeah. So where do you get your
- 22:59material? Like, do you Source your Your
- 23:02wood from the, like the land or like, what's the process like
- 23:06for you to procure. The materials car makes really
- 23:12need some good luck. And for 30 pieces, shop locally
- 23:39sourced, fine just really no local Health ways and stores and
- 23:43stuff are always make sure that it's you know it's
- 23:45environmentally sound and your stomach.
- 23:50Yeah a bit of a mix ready. What's your favorite if you have
- 23:53one material to work with? If you had like, if you had to
- 23:57pick like oh I really like carving, you know, ashore Elmore
- 24:00Willow or whatever you have. Favorite.
- 24:03Yeah I do really like Willow actually, I think partly because
- 24:07we've now got this family connection with it with the
- 24:09green out for four years and the tree is sort of part of our
- 24:12family and it's, you know, It's software, but it's not so soft.
- 24:18Like butter cheese, like butter, you know.
- 24:21Yeah. Just like yeah.
- 24:23You sneeze on in and it creates a really nice smooth flowing
- 24:35lines and the feed the feedback you get from it that, you know,
- 24:38the business assistance, that feel of the, you know, the
- 24:41timber pushing back into the blade in and into your forearms.
- 24:44It's hard to explain if they do it, but it's It's just a nice
- 24:47experience, you know. So I've never carved like God,
- 24:52pulls whatever, but I have dabbled in working with making
- 24:56room sets. Part of what helps support like
- 24:59the channel and different things.
- 25:00You know, I can make a room set for somebody and you know it's
- 25:03that gift exchange. You know, you know for this
- 25:06you're helping me out and like similarly with you and The
- 25:10Willow there's a maple tree that is has Been here in our yard
- 25:19ever since my wife and I have lived here.
- 25:21Well before then. And then throughout the years,
- 25:25you know, it's needed to be trimmed because it grows
- 25:28invasively to touch. I like the roof of our of our of
- 25:32our home. And you know, you gotta you
- 25:34gotta take care of your yard and part of that is hey man you
- 25:36know, you're being a little, you getting all up in my space here
- 25:39we got to cut a few limbs down and again to take care of it and
- 25:43some of those limbs that have you know been Removed for the
- 25:47sake of the health of the tree and of our yard have been
- 25:50crafted into my own room sets and other room sets.
- 25:55And yeah, I think that whole connection with the spirit of
- 25:59the land that is that exists in these living beings because the
- 26:04trees are alive the you know the are the ground, everything it's
- 26:07it's a it's a wonderful bonding experience, you know?
- 26:12Yeah, I completely agree. Something that you could have.
- 26:16Personal relationship with yeah. Yeah.
- 26:20I've also seen some of your posts where you are.
- 26:25Do you carve Driftwood also like do you?
- 26:28Yeah, is probably my favorite goddess of all.
- 26:33I've always loved to see I live about an hour from the city of
- 26:36Target. Choked up a smoking up and of
- 26:39about an hour from from the coast, but I just love to visit
- 26:44the see. It just brings an instant Just
- 26:47sense of calm and well-behaved. Yeah, I feel myself, go still
- 26:55inside, whatever, whatever I didn't see us because it's
- 26:59something that's quite hard to explain place.
- 27:01It's a really special relationship that I have.
- 27:05So, I particularly love burning. Whenever I go I try and pick up
- 27:09some bricks, but it's a completely different thing.
- 27:18I've always been in the sea and what kind of wood it is.
- 27:20You get something completely. Son is so soft and fragile and
- 27:23son is his heart. Yeah, right almost petrified in
- 27:28a way. Yeah, absolutely that.
- 27:33I love this. I love this thinking about,
- 27:35like, Driftwood in a way because again, you don't know what kind
- 27:39of wood it is. You don't know the origin of it,
- 27:41but it is something of its of its own like there's nothing
- 27:44else that can like, you can't go The forest and find Driftwood.
- 27:48You know what I mean? It's been made into Driftwood
- 27:53through time and and and ordeal, right?
- 27:56Because of the of the tides and the experience of the of the
- 28:00coastal Waters and all that stuff.
- 28:03It is, it becomes something different than what it
- 28:05originally was before. That's right.
- 28:08That's what I love about it. It's got a story.
- 28:09It's got its own life already. It's you know, you know where
- 28:13it's been where it's coming from, you know.
- 28:14Yeah. For Ivan do.
- 28:16Anything with it so it's already got some magic in it.
- 28:20Yeah, I love that. I love making Rune sets out of
- 28:24Driftwood, it's one of them. Probably more popular materials.
- 28:28That clients request me. Because, you know, I'll either
- 28:33Source Birch or or, or Driftwood because they're, they're readily
- 28:39available in the market, you know?
- 28:40And so they love how the feel and the look of Of Driftwood,
- 28:47turns out after I finish making them and that's what I enjoy
- 28:50working with. It's a, it's a pleasant
- 28:52experience. Yeah.
- 28:54Yeah, yeah. I love my own.
- 29:01She still every time it rains. She weeps sea salt.
- 29:06So now this sort of vote White's or powders are the forms of
- 29:11every time it rains. It's so deeply ingrained in the
- 29:13word. I mean, I made out with three
- 29:15years ago down and Laughs bring it brings out more Cecil about.
- 29:21That's incredible how ingrained it is into the to the material,
- 29:25like it after all all this time. Huh?
- 29:28Yeah, man. I I'm you know where I'm
- 29:29originally, from course I'm in Tennessee now which is a
- 29:32landlocked state. So if I want to go to the coast,
- 29:35I'm having to drive eight hours in any direction just to get
- 29:39there but I'm from the east coast of the United States.
- 29:42So I'm from New York and I grew up Near the ocean.
- 29:46I was like in less than an hour from the Atlantic coast and I
- 29:49was 10 minutes away from assaulted body of water.
- 29:52That separates the North Shore to the state of Connecticut.
- 29:56So the Long Island Sound I grew up in those Waters to and it's
- 29:59always, I yearn for a lot, like I miss it, I've become very
- 30:03close to the Inland bodies of water.
- 30:07So the streams, the rivers freshwater, marshes.
- 30:11I feel very close in those aspects.
- 30:14When I'm When I'm there, it feels like I'm home, but I do, I
- 30:18miss the coast because it does, it carries its own life, and it
- 30:21carries its own energy. And it's a different energy than
- 30:24the mountains energy, or the, the rivers and valleys.
- 30:28It's different kind of personality, I guess, you're
- 30:31right. It absolutely is.
- 30:36Yeah, exactly. That the landscape around here
- 30:41is very rural, just down the road from readers.
- 30:44Visibility called thirst lie. Which literally translates to
- 30:48Thor's lie. Yeah, the village sign is is a
- 30:52green circle, has got Thor and it holding his hammer with it
- 30:55within the feeling there are. It's yeah, it's really cold that
- 31:00build these things. Still live on in everything.
- 31:02Our country has been through that.
- 31:04I've gone to school with in the village.
- 31:07There are three huge mounds of Earth and the third one is its
- 31:13kind of red and it's made of The Iron Stone covered in Heather.
- 31:16Scrubbers run over pine trees Etc and they're called The
- 31:19Devil's jumps. The local story.
- 31:23Is that thought this, you devil probably locator originally, but
- 31:27around the time of christianisation, I think about
- 31:29these stories got adapted and shoot him across the landscape
- 31:33and swung his hammer and three times, three times, the devil
- 31:36jumps, and haven't missed. And every time it struck the
- 31:38ground, it created one of these mounds of the Earth and It goes
- 31:45back to what you're saying about.
- 31:46The this is what I was getting to personality of landscape.
- 31:49You go and stand on top of that, it's called the Stony junk and
- 31:54it just just didn't bodies know about it, it's red.
- 32:01Yeah, that is a great. Okay.
- 32:05So that I mean, that's great. I love the the local, the
- 32:09folklore and and the story because you're not going to find
- 32:12it in a book. At least I don't know of a book
- 32:14that I would Whatever, maybe, you know, English folklore or
- 32:17Saxon folklore? I don't know where I would ever
- 32:19find that. That is great.
- 32:21And that was another thing that I was wanting to, maybe pick
- 32:26your brain a bit about is, how alive is Heathen.
- 32:30Re in the UK versus here like in the state's now comparatively
- 32:33speaking, I mean, we I think globally we are aware of a
- 32:39rising Interest or insurgents, rather maybe of like the
- 32:44interest to pursue paganism across different cultures but
- 32:48dramatic Heathen or you like Germanic paganism, which of
- 32:51course has its roots in. You know, you're in your part of
- 32:56the world and North further north of course, but it's it it
- 33:01made its way there. And clearly, you know, there are
- 33:04places that still have Nods to the old gods like thirstily.
- 33:09I mean if that's literally a name place of Thor, we see that
- 33:12in other countries and other places as well even up further
- 33:15north and like Scandinavia. And so, so how present aside
- 33:22from that? I mean, how has been how has it
- 33:24been in like the United Kingdom with active heathens, like are
- 33:29there groups in your area that people gather and do things
- 33:33together with? I don't know, events, whatever.
- 33:36They're also there's a group here, called called a UK, as a
- 33:40true UK, who kind of got on a mission to create a national
- 33:45network and have hearts to delivery in the country, I'll be
- 33:51honest. You know, that's not my thing.
- 33:54I think what they're doing is great that bills, networks of
- 33:57people who are on their own and want to be with other
- 33:59like-minded people. That's brilliant me.
- 34:00Personally, this is not my thing.
- 34:03I'm more about my relationship with the land and with nature
- 34:08then about with other people. I've been to a couple of big,
- 34:12some ritual setups and it just I just felt and I think he did it
- 34:17just wasn't there for me where I can go sit under a tree and I'm
- 34:19completely in the right place, you know?
- 34:23Yeah. But let's get back to your
- 34:25question. Yes, it's very active here.
- 34:28I think, you know, it's far from mainstream.
- 34:31I would say, still, It's certainly becoming more common
- 34:37and for good or bad. I think things like the Vikings
- 34:40TV show. Going to brought it to the main
- 34:41streams of thought to the for and got people thinking about
- 34:45it. Thank you, see, a lot of people
- 34:47walking around with the haircut and Thor's hammer on Monday.
- 34:51Yeah, or about it or whether it's it is fashion statement
- 34:54there that we go with the next one that I don't know but it's
- 34:57it's certainly put it into people's minds you know and
- 35:00again you know that It's a guy little while ago and that was
- 35:07his introduction to Thor and Loki and people like that, even
- 35:10when picks up a book and realized that there's much more
- 35:13to it than Marvel, we know and started to see some right
- 35:16England and what they represented and and understand
- 35:19the hopes of Heritage and culture that they didn't really
- 35:22know about before because it's not widely taught in our
- 35:24schools, you know that. Ya know I think, you know, I was
- 35:30like my introduction to and I would love to hear yours too
- 35:33because Made I haven't always been Pagan.
- 35:35I was raised in Christianity and but I always like I remember I
- 35:44think probably the first time we're like the seed was planted.
- 35:46I don't remember how old exactly I was but I was probably like a
- 35:52teenager young teenager and he went to in this is I was still
- 35:56in this house still in New York. And I went to a renaissance fair
- 36:01or Renaissance Festival, you know, everybody's dressed in
- 36:04Period clothing and there's different types of characters
- 36:07and stuff roaming around. And I found my way to an area
- 36:12that had a very strong, you know, like Viking aesthetic and
- 36:18with I was talking to, you know, they had axes and Shields and
- 36:22that that sort of thing and I was talking to the vendor about
- 36:26just, you know, Emily Heritage, you know, and I'm saying, yeah,
- 36:30you know, I'm very interested about my family's Heritage on my
- 36:35dad's side because it's mostly German and Dutch and there's
- 36:39other things, but it's predominantly German and Dutch.
- 36:42And he said, well then you've got Viking in you at some point
- 36:45because of how widespread the people went at, you know,
- 36:50between the raids and everything gets, you know, they were they
- 36:52were all over the place. So if you've got ancestry in
- 36:56your German and Dutch that, you know, then Then in your, you've
- 36:59got Viking blood in your what I was like, oh, that's
- 37:01interesting. And then fast forward to, you
- 37:04know, maybe about seven years ago, I was at a point in my life
- 37:09where I was really not into Christianity anymore.
- 37:12I have a lot of doubts and questions and just things didn't
- 37:14feel right. And you know, I of course, the
- 37:18Vikings thing came out and I was like, well, maybe I should look
- 37:21at that more and see cuz I remember that one time, where
- 37:23that guy said, you know, I had Viking Blood or Viking, And come
- 37:29to find out what that really means and that the Vikings were,
- 37:32you know, it was an age. It was it was a time period in
- 37:34time it is and it's largely used to describe the north, you know,
- 37:39northern Europe and the Germanic people.
- 37:42But it's, you know, there was, it was an occupation.
- 37:43It was a, it was a thing to do. It wasn't, you know, you weren't
- 37:47Viking because you were born when you were biking because you
- 37:50did the thing to that classified.
- 37:52You as such you, when trading, you did all that crazy stuff.
- 37:55So I learned more about that, and Yeah, so I mean I like it
- 38:01is, it's interesting too to hear people's stories of origin and
- 38:04be like yeah I might have been the TV show might have been a
- 38:06movie, might have been a conversation and then that's the
- 38:09seed that planted there. The tree that grows into their
- 38:13path. So what was your, what was your
- 38:16background? It's always interesting to hear
- 38:18that story. Everyone's story is different,
- 38:21it's great. I mean mine started.
- 38:23We 30 years ago. I think I was always Pagan but
- 38:27before that even I would always just feel something different
- 38:31than the woods around trees. And I would when I was in the
- 38:33street or in the city and could never quite Put put a name to it
- 38:41or any sort of significance doing.
- 38:44I've got into my teens 1718 and I think about someone, like you
- 38:47start to question a lot better, and I started to think about my
- 38:53Origins, my belonging, but not just my own, this thought, the
- 38:55know, the story, the land, and the people and, you know,
- 38:59religion and philosophy, and things like that, and everything
- 39:02will be taught in school was about Christianity.
- 39:05He requested history of Christianity.
- 39:07Was that somebody is a thousand years old.
- 39:09So what happened before that there's a lot of history that we
- 39:13haven't really been told very much about, so I the internet
- 39:16wasn't around. Then, you know, you have to go
- 39:19to a library and we books. So that's what I did.
- 39:22I started to believe you find out about this helps that's a
- 39:31couple of books on the ecology calcium box.
- 39:34If I think that might be relevant to the British Isles,
- 39:37you know. And certainly the taxes that we
- 39:42just couldn't leave it more. So perhaps that's what I feel
- 39:46under that tree. That's that you tree that cool
- 39:51dark quiet this that's that's owed.
- 39:53It's like a foreboding sort of presidents, their massive Terror
- 39:58and that. Well, that's that's thought the
- 39:59old and I started to see the story.
- 40:03What's the story? I used to live by the dying of
- 40:16the sun's coming up, it's time to say, you know, Harvest and
- 40:27Don't just really resonate is that?
- 40:30That was the right path. Certainly for me in nature was
- 40:38back. Yeah.
- 40:47I think it's a noticed the thing when you said you know, I think
- 40:52I've always been Pagan and then you made a statement that To
- 40:57stick out, you know, didn't really know what to call it.
- 41:01And that's a really interesting thing because that people that
- 41:05were Pagan at the time, they didn't have a name for what they
- 41:07were. They just were what they were,
- 41:09right? They weren't heathens.
- 41:10That was some, that was a name that was given to them by the
- 41:14Christians, you know, they were called pagans.
- 41:16They were called this big by the Christians because they weren't
- 41:19Christian, you know, they weren't the thing that that
- 41:22everybody else was. So, and and growing up myself,
- 41:26you know? Looking back on it like yeah,
- 41:28sure. I was a I was raised as a as a
- 41:31as a Christian and learned Christian World Views and
- 41:35doctrines and that sort of thing.
- 41:37But I was I was always, you know, I've talked about this
- 41:40plenty of times, like I didn't as a kid growing up, like I
- 41:43didn't want to go play video games.
- 41:45I didn't want to stay inside, I wanted to be outside.
- 41:47I want to go into the woods. I wanted to go play in the in
- 41:51the, you know, in the rivers or thus, or the sea or whatever I
- 41:55wanted to be out. In in nature and I so I think
- 41:59maybe you know whether I knew it or not at the time but thinking
- 42:03back on it now it was it's always been a part of me that's
- 42:06always been their kind of dormant and and living in a way
- 42:10that I just didn't know what to call her or didn't call myself
- 42:14that at the time. Yeah, and lucky said, it didn't
- 42:17have a name is just what people did all over the world.
- 42:22I think that the similarities in these stories are fascinating
- 42:25for me. Dogs to Native Americans.
- 42:28Like you Greek you know there are sky farms and Earth mothers
- 42:31is got to death. You know these things and I you
- 42:36know, I think they were rejected from the sort of seek mankind,
- 42:40you know, there's people have migrated these stories is gone
- 42:43and evolve with them and take them on the characteristics of
- 42:46their, their Landscapes, that the gods have developed their
- 42:50own names and personalities that that relate to that landscape.
- 42:57Yeah, and I ate your, you know, I think it's a is the the
- 43:00similarities across cultures. It's you know, who you know, the
- 43:04north would call, you know, Odin.
- 43:06You know the people South would call woden, you know what I
- 43:10mean? Like just etymologically
- 43:12speaking, you know, the Linguistics and the
- 43:14similarities, but again like you saying how, you know, the sky
- 43:18father's, the the Earth, mother's those, those are
- 43:22Aesthetics and those are builds of the Sacred orb.
- 43:26Divine that we see across all places in the world and it, you
- 43:32know, when we get when we talk about how, you know, I think a
- 43:37lot of pagans, you know, no matter where you go in the world
- 43:39and whether they're dramatic pagans or Celtic pagans, or
- 43:44Hellenistic or whatever, you know, I think the the the
- 43:48Adoration, the appreciation, the veneration of nature, we're all
- 43:52just kind of animistic. Pagans, you know, like you
- 43:57could, you know, whether you want to be dramatic or whatever,
- 43:59it's, you know, we appreciate and we and we know that there
- 44:03are bigger things than just us that exist in the world around
- 44:07us and we don't feel so I don't know.
- 44:09Maybe obligated to focus on The big gods and goddesses you like
- 44:15it, they are important and they deserve and you know, the
- 44:18respecting, the veneration that they that way that we give them.
- 44:21But on the day to day stuff, you know, like where we're
- 44:25connecting with Spirits all around us that are literally
- 44:28right here with us, not not in some realm that we can't
- 44:31tangibly connect to. So, I think that there's a,
- 44:34that's important to remember, as well.
- 44:36And for me, when I first became Pagan, you know, because of the
- 44:39Christian baggage, right? Because of being focused.
- 44:43Gaston, you know, one single God, you know, I came into
- 44:46paganism thinking that I had to do the same thing with With the
- 44:50dramatic God's you know like oh, you know, I'm going to be in
- 44:53trouble if I don't. And I see that quite a lot,
- 44:56particularly pagans that they almost just from God and Jesus
- 45:02with pagan gods and elevated right there to the same status
- 45:08level of devotion. And I, you know, I would never
- 45:11say to anyone that is wrong. An experience around us all the
- 45:22time. There was trees the Earth, they
- 45:26everything. They're not something that we're
- 45:29trying to Aspire to up there in the next life record this time.
- 45:34That's interesting how you bring that up the that it's that it's
- 45:37specifically when American Heathen rear American pagans and
- 45:41I did want to bring that up because I've you know, again
- 45:44speaking to different people from across the world, the
- 45:47perception of heathen re In North America from largely from
- 45:52what I've seen. It's almost like they that we're
- 45:55getting don't say laughed at but we the perception from places
- 46:00like the UK or other other areas in Europe and where this all
- 46:05sort of originated from they you know they people are like what
- 46:09are you guys doing over there man?
- 46:10Like why? And I don't know if that's just
- 46:14you know yes us picking up on the Christianity aspect of
- 46:20things and it's a skewed view of it or what.
- 46:24But it's interesting that you bring that up.
- 46:27Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:28It's certainly something I experienced more States than
- 46:33anywhere else. Suffering that there is no
- 46:38present that attracts it is in other places.
- 46:41I don't know. But like I said, I would never
- 46:43say to anyone that they're doing it wrong the way I do think.
- 46:46It's right. I would never describe it to
- 46:48anybody else. I think it's time to find their
- 46:51own relationship with the Gods in their own, their own way.
- 46:56Oh, yeah. I give to anyone and I get
- 46:59asked, I figure we should I do. Read the stories, just really
- 47:04understand who they are. They get to know the characters
- 47:08like to know, stop? Yeah.
- 47:16I like how you said, you know, it's like with dealing with your
- 47:19friends and family because I've had conversations with other
- 47:21people as well. And some actually very recently
- 47:25and you've probably heard this type of thing that I'm about to
- 47:28say where people feel Like they are disconnected from the gods,
- 47:35or they feel like maybe I'm cursed by the gods because I did
- 47:38something wrong and I'm like, don't think that's how this
- 47:40works. And I use the analogy.
- 47:43I'm like, look, I'm best friends with certain people and I don't
- 47:47even talk to them every day and it's okay because they're doing
- 47:51their own thing. So if you're not dealing with
- 47:54the gods every day, that's kind of like I compared it, it's very
- 47:58similar. Like, you don't have to deal
- 47:59with the gods every single day in order to To be close with the
- 48:02gods, you might go a week without talking to your best
- 48:04friend, but you were still your best.
- 48:07They're still your best friend, you know, will be the right
- 48:11thing to do. Yeah, II think I was there at
- 48:34one point two and and I'm not the same Pagan.
- 48:38Now as I was even yesterday and certainly not last year or seven
- 48:43years ago, when I first discovered this things I was
- 48:45doing things differently back, then that I am doing.
- 48:47Yeah, that I'm doing right now. You know, it's it's it's a, it's
- 48:51a growth process. It's like, you know, the tree,
- 48:56That that is planted. Today is becomes a tree in
- 49:00several years and then grows into something, massive and
- 49:04different, you know? So it's a growth process.
- 49:06You're not going to be the same person Pagan.
- 49:10Your faith is going to evolve. Your faith is going to grow,
- 49:12too. So I think, you know, when
- 49:16you're feeling those things and those moments, it's part of what
- 49:19you need to learn for your journey for your path.
- 49:23It's part of the learning process as part of the growth.
- 49:27But for sure and carving the concert has been a massive
- 49:30learning experience for me. I think if this had never gone,
- 49:36the way that it did in become as big as it has, I would probably
- 49:38still be a preset there with Odin and Thor because they're my
- 49:42guys, you know, and not really explored much beyond that when I
- 49:46get some of the messages me could you make me a hell?
- 49:49Could you make me a load goin on?
- 49:51Don't really know too much about them so I'll go back.
- 49:53Are weak story again and then I'll start.
- 49:56I think about how they relate to some of my life experience and
- 49:59some of the things I've seen in the world around me, and then
- 50:04they start to become more alive to me and I get the respect in
- 50:08the understanding of the MP4 and you got.
- 50:12So it's been really rewarding in that unexpected way for me to
- 50:19car probably most of the pantheon of gods now and have
- 50:23met a lot of characters that I probably wouldn't have gone out.
- 50:26My way to to identify with otherwise.
- 50:31Sounds almost like the carving for you.
- 50:36The experience of putting blade to Wood and creating a
- 50:41personality. Creating a life.
- 50:42Basically is a ritual in itself is an ongoing ritual experience.
- 50:49Yeah. It absolutely is spiritual or
- 50:54whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah, la can say
- 50:56each one is a reflection. Not only on The story, how the
- 51:00story relates to me, and like I said my own experiences
- 51:05situations where I feel like what they represent as being
- 51:09present as benefactor and trying to put myself in their position
- 51:14in their stories and how I might have felt and why did act the
- 51:17way they did, you get a real sense of empathy for the
- 51:22character and they become market like a person?
- 51:24You know you get to know them. Give them what life?
- 51:29I feel like that. I've I felt that way when I made
- 51:35room sets its again. It's not just oh you want to
- 51:38reinsert, you know, and I go through the mechanics of it all
- 51:41and here's your room set, right? It's it's entering like a
- 51:44headspace. It's putting yourself and
- 51:47separating yourself from, you know, the normal routines of, of
- 51:52the day-to-day and stepping into a headspace that allows you to
- 51:58really focus on. The purpose behind this, you
- 52:01know, why? Why did somebody reach out to
- 52:03me? Instead of just, you know, buy
- 52:04something off of Amazon that's been mass-produced, you know,
- 52:07obviously that it speaks to them to the point.
- 52:10It's important to them. So now, let me put that in
- 52:13energy and put that focus into what I'm doing.
- 52:15And then the learning of studying of the rooms.
- 52:19I mean, that's a whole Topic in and of itself, similarly, with
- 52:22you and the Gods like when you're carving Odin's eye or,
- 52:28you know, making a clear distinction between the two
- 52:32sides of Hell's face, you know, or whatever, the strength of
- 52:37Thor and how that's going to I guess become something into the
- 52:42carving. Like, I don't know, just it's
- 52:45such a connecting experience. It's more than just doing it.
- 52:50Yeah, it is and it's all explains words.
- 52:52Sometimes it's very yet. You had some actually really
- 53:00neat stories with things that have happened.
- 53:03Like when you make a mistake, or you cut a little bit too much
- 53:07out of of it, you know, and how it either becomes part of the
- 53:13uniqueness of that piece or how its You know sacrificed into the
- 53:18fire or whatever, I mean, can you talk a little bit about
- 53:22those types of things to and then maybe give the audience
- 53:25some insight as to? Yeah, I mean it doesn't always
- 53:29go go. Right when I started out, I had
- 53:31meticulously plan. My piece sketch and sketch it
- 53:34again, and sketch. It onto the wood and go and come
- 53:38along now, it's more intuitive. I just pick up the piece of
- 53:42woods, right? Okay, you thought like this and
- 53:44just go through that whole thing.
- 53:46Nope, let's go to press in my life.
- 53:47These stories what he represents and he will start to come out,
- 53:5599% time, it goes, right? Because I've been doing it a
- 53:57long time now and we do something the better you get it
- 54:01every now and then it goes, sometimes it will be a happy
- 54:06accident. Nobody been locally funny.
- 54:11They'll be asleep or something. Just go a little bit wrong with
- 54:14actual actually. That's Point more.
- 54:16Like its widest smile or whatever.
- 54:18It's, you know, it's added something to the piece but know,
- 54:21sometimes it's it isn't good enough and they have to be good
- 54:26enough. Everything that these here is
- 54:27the absolute best argument isn't good enough.
- 54:29It will go any farther because I just I won't put it out there.
- 54:34It's too important for what it represents.
- 54:37The the relationship person is going to have with it but also
- 54:41as a reflection of me, if I'm going out stuff that I don't
- 54:44think is good enough. What does that About me as a
- 54:46person has. I would rather throw it away and
- 54:50start getting the do that because I think the end of the
- 54:53day reputation is all God is really in this world.
- 54:58Yeah, we don't think that's the thing that that does not ever
- 55:00die. Yeah, you know the reputation of
- 55:04well one well-earned our says in all of them all.
- 55:07Yeah yeah I do. I've got some funny little you
- 55:12probably called in coincidences. Alex comes or synchronicities
- 55:15work. But I think the first time I
- 55:17carved, Scotty, she was one. I've never really knew much
- 55:22about you become one of my favorite since I finished
- 55:25carving, her was really happy with us at Downs.
- 55:27Photograph on the table was a bit of an overcast day.
- 55:31The moment has settled down, got my phone out, take photo this
- 55:34hailstorm just bolted out of nowhere and pelted that table.
- 55:41She was on into big white hailstones, unless they get a
- 55:45couple of Just then it's gone. The sun was out and it was the
- 55:50ice is melting and it's just gonna.
- 55:52But what? You know, what are the chance
- 55:55is? Yeah, that that it in that
- 55:57instant, it decided to do that. You know, I've had a few, a few
- 56:01little things like that, that a double rainbow out here.
- 56:05When I figured finished carving times over and again, setting
- 56:08down to photo my daughter was out here with me.
- 56:12I said, look, rainbow and I looked up and there is not just
- 56:14one baby but a couple rain. Bo was yeah, yeah, things like
- 56:19that are cool. And I don't think I believe in
- 56:24magic in the sense of pulling rabbits out of hats, but I think
- 56:29there are lots of things like that that are magic, is the
- 56:32synchronous teeth into. Connecting us things, I think
- 56:35IG. It's ultimately being able to
- 56:38change Consciousness or perception through an external
- 56:42influence. So compost is a peaceful magic
- 56:46because someone on their way to work in the morning walks past
- 56:50their od'ing post. And puts them in a different
- 56:55state of mind for that day. That's that's magic.
- 57:00Crow at the bus, stop waiting for the bus go to work.
- 57:02They think it's a raven and it's changed the way they're going
- 57:06to. That meeting that woman.
- 57:08That's magic external influences.
- 57:12Altering our behaviors. I guess, a, what I consider
- 57:18magic to be coming. Yeah.
- 57:21Yeah, I I I'm 100% with you on that and the application of
- 57:27magic. We are workers of magic it in so
- 57:34many ways that we don't even think about, you know what I
- 57:36mean? Like, you're saying, like, the,
- 57:40the influences that we can have on those external factors, like
- 57:43we are tied into this web and the way we interact and we do.
- 57:49I mean, it's constantly changing, it's constantly
- 57:52shifting. And so we have a very powerful
- 57:55place in the universe and what we do or don't do shapes.
- 58:00That that web. Yeah, it's constantly.
- 58:04Fossa fly's Wings, isn't it? You know, since it's the concept
- 58:08of we're all things are connected.
- 58:11Oh yeah. I-i've got room sets, 30 years,
- 58:15I've only ever carved four weeks that's good at finding frankly,
- 58:172016 to do, but I very rarely consultant.
- 58:22Now what I tend to do. Instead, I'll sit out here with
- 58:24my goal posts, in front of the fire.
- 58:25If I've got a question or a quandary or something that I
- 58:29want to I'll over. I will sit with them by the
- 58:32fire, and one of them will stand out in some way.
- 58:39Fire will catch an eye, or just the way that one is turned
- 58:45slightly towards another one, will grab my attention and it
- 58:51kind of works in the same way that words, do I think it's a
- 58:53psychological thing? I'm, you know, my subconscious
- 58:56is looking for an answer and there it is.
- 58:59That's it. That little thing telling me
- 59:02what what I need to know. Do you understand other?
- 59:05Yeah yeah. No I definitely get it in like
- 59:09divination or tools to use for divination.
- 59:13It again. It's always like just this Why
- 59:17are you like, why are you here? What are you asking?
- 59:19What are you looking for? And I think we all have that
- 59:23desire to to get answers. And so, where we seek those
- 59:26answers from should be what feels right for us?
- 59:31Yeah, not everybody's going to be like, let me go Consulting
- 59:35rooms or let me go talk to a aroun reader or Taro or bones
- 59:40or, you know, whatever. Some people are just going to
- 59:42like you, you know, just sit And the audience of the Gods, go go
- 59:46go out into the woods under a tree sit in the river.
- 59:50Go into the ocean whatever, you know, G connect, and then
- 59:53there's your answers your things come to you in that way because
- 59:56you're that's what feels better. That's what feels best.
- 59:59That's what feels right. That's what works for you.
- 1:00:02That's it. You know, that thinks the matter
- 1:00:04these things, which means neither predicts the future for
- 1:00:07us, something the answers are in.
- 1:00:08Its, we know the answers. We just need that promise.
- 1:00:11That thing that connects with our - the rest are.
- 1:00:14There it is. That's it.
- 1:00:16And it and it opens up a new, having you thought, or whatever.
- 1:00:22Yes, on that. The like the owners friend quite
- 1:00:25often, it's not the answer you wanted, is the one you've closed
- 1:00:28the door on because you didn't want to consider it, but your
- 1:00:30front, your face with it. Yeah, okay.
- 1:00:34Yeah, yeah. Sometimes you know, you're, you
- 1:00:37know, and I think a lot of times to like, when we're in those
- 1:00:39positions of asking questions. Most of the time like you say,
- 1:00:44you know we know the answer already but maybe we're just
- 1:00:46trying to get a get around it or find something that maybe
- 1:00:50doesn't make us feel so uncomfortable and sometimes
- 1:00:53it's, you know the right answer. The right answer is the truth
- 1:00:57and the truth sometimes is it's tough to swallow but you gotta
- 1:01:02face the music, you gotta you gotta, you know, deal with the
- 1:01:07the the hand that's dealt to you and make the best of it.
- 1:01:10It's yeah. So Kris while we while before I
- 1:01:15wrap things up, I am going to ask you to just let everybody
- 1:01:18know where you can be found how they can support you.
- 1:01:23I know you've got the good near god post Facebook page, what
- 1:01:27else do you have going on? How else can people find you and
- 1:01:31support you? So, go make up posts on
- 1:01:33Facebook, it's on Instagram. And I want patreon Patron.
- 1:01:38At the moment is the only way that people can commissioned
- 1:01:41pieces from me, go. Back right to the start other
- 1:01:44conversation. Only this position where the
- 1:01:47demand for what I couldn't get create far.
- 1:01:50Outstrips, my capacity to create it and I started out on a
- 1:01:54Sunday. I would just release to
- 1:01:55condition starts in the first two people to grab them, grab
- 1:01:58them, and it just wasn't fair. So by doing it this way, people
- 1:02:04support me see, thorough account a dollar fifty a month, is the
- 1:02:08minimum amount. It just helps me to sort of
- 1:02:11build for the future of it all. It Narrows the kind of pool of
- 1:02:15people that I create for us a moment.
- 1:02:17I put some content on there. A lot of the stuff we talked
- 1:02:20about today, some articles for thoughts and Reflections and
