- 1:51Speaker 3: Outside of social media, how have you guys marketed and
- 1:55Speaker 3: branded your product?
- 1:57Speaker 1: I keep my nails pink all the time, so people
- 2:00Speaker 1: always say I like your nails, and why every time
- 2:03Speaker 1: I see you have pink, I have a brand called
- 2:05Speaker 1: pink Nookie, or I have pink in my hair. At
- 2:08Speaker 1: one point, I just make sure I have something with
- 2:12Speaker 1: the brand on. Yeah, we do saying text, texting, email
- 2:17Speaker 1: marketing a lot. Fashion Nova is crazy with the text
- 2:21Speaker 1: message marketing, so I kind of what do they do?
- 2:24Speaker 1: They send out texts like every day?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Crazy?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like one was like your order is guaranteed to
- 2:30Speaker 1: come faster than your man. Like so I'm like, okay,
- 2:35Speaker 1: And when you get on social media you see everybody talking.
- 2:38Speaker 4: About fashion Ova.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's what I try to do.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Like last week I did drop and give me fifty
- 2:44Speaker 1: kegels like stuff like that.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Like it gets the people going.
- 2:50Speaker 4: So that's all.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Looking looking for and fast fast this year. What is
- 2:57Speaker 3: some things that you guys are going to do differently
- 2:58Speaker 3: this year than you've done in the past.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We're getting a premium booth definitely, Yeah, that premium booth,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and then this year I want to do like.
- 3:11Speaker 2: We'll talk about why that's important, like location, right, yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 2: talk about that.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Every year we've had a good booth. But when you
- 3:21Speaker 1: guys do the walk through, it's certain aisles that you
- 3:24Speaker 1: guys go through. You're not going through the back aisles
- 3:28Speaker 1: or the middle ones. You're going through their premium booths
- 3:31Speaker 1: and that's where everybody is Like nineteen keys, every everybody
- 3:34Speaker 1: has a premium booth.
- 3:35Speaker 4: So I think the faster you buy it, the better
- 3:38Speaker 4: your booth is. That's what they say, because you get
- 3:40Speaker 4: to pick it last year first. As soon as you'll
- 3:44Speaker 4: dropped it we brought it. We was, we was, We
- 3:47Speaker 4: was across from the e yl University booth.
- 3:50Speaker 5: That's how we end up.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I seen Mike. I didn't even know who Mike was.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I just seen him at the booth. I seen his
- 3:57Speaker 4: face out and we went back morning, I pull it down.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I'm as he gave me his personal number and everything
- 4:07Speaker 4: like after I talked to him, told my story his
- 4:09Speaker 4: number being that's probably like the closest thing I had
- 4:12Speaker 4: to a mentor since we started.
- 4:15Speaker 2: That's that's dope, man, That's dope dope.
- 4:17Speaker 3: So yeah, I think that it's always an exciting time,
- 4:21Speaker 3: but it's important to make sure you got your business correct.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Like a lot of people be excited. I'm gonna be
- 4:25Speaker 3: a vendor investments, but that's cool, but make sure you
- 4:28Speaker 3: got a strategy, make sure you got the logo correct,
- 4:32Speaker 3: make sure you got enough inventory because especially this year,
- 4:34Speaker 3: if in the marketplace. We haven't announced it yet, but
- 4:37Speaker 3: we got some some pretty dope vendors that are gonna
- 4:41Speaker 3: do activation, so it's gonna be that in the marketplace
- 4:44Speaker 3: is always a vibe, but this year, I think it's
- 4:46Speaker 3: gonna be even more of a vibe.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Business cards, make sure you got the right shoes hustle
- 4:51Speaker 4: like us, we pulling twelve our shifts three days, and
- 4:56Speaker 4: you gotta be coming shift three days and.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Get there early, get there early, I know. Like I
- 5:01Speaker 2: feel like the past couple of years, I've always met
- 5:03Speaker 2: you out in the morning.
- 5:03Speaker 5: In the morning, it'd be like nine.
- 5:04Speaker 4: O'clock, I'm doing laps to see what's going on out
- 5:06Speaker 4: a dealing a crowd of people down around.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's not enough people to run to you yet.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So it's and I feel like when you are there earlier,
- 5:16Speaker 1: everybody is kind of more relaxed when the crowds of
- 5:19Speaker 1: people start coming and you obviously naturally have to be
- 5:22Speaker 1: more you.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Know, you know, as crazy as that. So when we
- 5:25Speaker 3: brought h We brought Robert Smith through last year, and
- 5:29Speaker 3: some people knew he was, but a lot of people
- 5:31Speaker 3: like he was able to walk through with no problem,
- 5:33Speaker 3: Like it wasn't like like you know, he bring Steve
- 5:36Speaker 3: Harvey through and it's like a like he walked through.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I boved too. Oh yeah, yeah, this one. Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 3: So it's crazy. But like you said, as far as
- 5:44Speaker 3: the early Bird catching the World and the Dan Cathy story,
- 5:46Speaker 3: I think it's good because Sunday is the last day
- 5:48Speaker 3: of the event. That was two years ago, and he
- 5:51Speaker 3: came very unassuming, name tag stuff like that. So a
- 5:54Speaker 3: lot of he was there before vendors. There's no reason
- 5:57Speaker 3: why somebody that's worth seven billion dollars it's there before
- 6:01Speaker 3: a small business vendor and it's their business.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Like long Street trapper. He put us on his live Yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 4: that little morning Yep, that's how it happens.
- 6:11Speaker 3: You got to be there early. I always tell people,
- 6:13Speaker 3: man like early birds catch the work and you never know.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you literally never And that's the thing, Like I'm
- 6:20Speaker 2: replaying the story in my head. I'm like, you saw him.
- 6:23Speaker 2: He was actually lost.
- 6:25Speaker 5: He was just trying to find He didn't know where to.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Go, you know, where to go, Like, oh, they're over there,
- 6:30Speaker 2: just go.
- 6:30Speaker 5: But we made sure to talk to him first and
- 6:33Speaker 5: get you where you need to go.
- 6:34Speaker 2: From that moment I got to I walked with him,
- 6:36Speaker 2: showed him around, and then I was able to introduce
- 6:38Speaker 2: him to Don Peeples who had never met. And so
- 6:41Speaker 2: now you got these billionaire tycoons and respective spaces are
- 6:44Speaker 2: now meeting for the first time. So the witness side
- 6:46Speaker 2: was crazy. But to start with, you're trying to figure out,
- 6:48Speaker 2: Oh there he is, go there over there.
- 6:51Speaker 3: So as far as you guys looking at you know,
- 6:56Speaker 3: you moved to Atlanta, and Atlanta is the place of
- 7:00Speaker 3: INVESTM Festival. It's also entrepreneurship hub of Black America. How
- 7:04Speaker 3: has your experience been in Atlanta as far as meeting
- 7:08Speaker 3: people networking? Like, how how has your experience been in Atlanta?
- 7:11Speaker 3: That's entrepreneurs that's moving from out of town.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Amazing, amazing, Like as soon as we came, it's like
- 7:18Speaker 4: the love. Then it's just when I explain it to people,
- 7:23Speaker 4: I just be like, it's just it's made for us.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Like you want to succeed in the world, go to
- 7:28Speaker 4: Atlanta from then that's from.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Experience though, because you and meet we're just I mean
- 7:34Speaker 1: they're regular people, but they're not regular people, but they're
- 7:36Speaker 1: doing regular people things like just out to eat or
- 7:39Speaker 1: he has season passes to the Hawks games. Like the
- 7:43Speaker 1: amount of people we've met just going to a basketball
- 7:45Speaker 1: game is insane.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And watch sports even that the brand of choice that
- 7:50Speaker 2: you'll have on today is a testament to that, right,
- 7:52Speaker 2: Like y'all are were in Milano for those who are
- 7:54Speaker 2: not to know, but yeah, was just y'all, y'all ran
- 7:57Speaker 2: into it. Y'all were looking for this said on the site.
- 8:01Speaker 5: She said, let me.
- 8:02Speaker 1: She took a picture in my contact card and she
- 8:04Speaker 1: had her assistant text me and have what we needed
- 8:07Speaker 1: uber to us the next day.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Because I feel like a lot of Atlanta gets a
- 8:11Speaker 3: lot of bad rap and for people, but I don't
- 8:15Speaker 3: think that's people that's fully experienced it right, And it's
- 8:17Speaker 3: like coming from other places, it's not the same, like
- 8:20Speaker 3: you know that level of like sometimes you got to
- 8:22Speaker 3: be inspired and be in the right situation to have
- 8:27Speaker 3: the ability to grow. And it's like a lot of
- 8:29Speaker 3: small towns of different cities and different things that nature,
- 8:32Speaker 3: and it's like it's a crab in a barrel mentality,
- 8:34Speaker 3: and it's not a lot of people that are doing
- 8:37Speaker 3: the same thing that you're doing. So it's difficult to
- 8:39Speaker 3: kind of grow if you're not in the right environment
- 8:41Speaker 3: and you.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Have to go to the right places.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Like you can't say moving to Atlanta to grow and
- 8:47Speaker 1: you're not in any places that business owners are. You
- 8:51Speaker 1: just only in the clubs or you only at the bar.
- 8:53Speaker 4: It's like we don't even go out like when people
- 8:56Speaker 4: come to Atlanta. Oh, what's just like, we don't know.
- 8:58Speaker 5: What's the rest restaurant, have no clue business.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And even like our lawyer at Investments, Brandon Williams is
- 9:05Speaker 1: our lawyer, but our first but our first year or
- 9:10Speaker 1: one of the year's that investor. He walked right past
- 9:12Speaker 1: us like we were trying to give him something. He
- 9:14Speaker 1: just kept on going. And so now it's like, now
- 9:16Speaker 1: he's our attorney.
- 9:18Speaker 3: That's a good story too, because he works for Steve Harvey.
- 9:21Speaker 3: He's Steve Harvey's lawyer, and now he represents you guys.
- 9:24Speaker 3: So how did you make that connection?
- 9:26Speaker 5: Investments?
- 9:28Speaker 2: There you have it.
- 9:30Speaker 1: That's all I can say is like and he is
- 9:35Speaker 1: like people always say, oh, he's just he's somebody like
- 9:38Speaker 1: he is, yes, yeah, And he he took us our
- 9:44Speaker 1: first time meeting him. He took us to the Four
- 9:46Speaker 1: Seasons and for breakfast, and we were.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Like what are we wear and what do we doing?
- 9:50Speaker 1: And he was just so like cool, like he was
- 9:53Speaker 1: just regular. And they know him by name there they're like, yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 1: but mister Williams comes all the time.
- 10:02Speaker 3: A lot of people are fearful of moving out of
- 10:05Speaker 3: that environment. What do you say to those people that, like,
- 10:08Speaker 3: you know, sometimes you just got to take a leap
- 10:10Speaker 3: of faith and leave the place that you grew up
- 10:13Speaker 3: and leave the familiar surrounding, leave the family that you know.
- 10:17Speaker 3: It's difficult to ligrific. How do you what kind of
- 10:20Speaker 3: advice would you give to those type people?
- 10:21Speaker 5: It's a big world out there.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I don't think about it, just do it.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And people get so caught up in friends and
- 10:28Speaker 1: family supporting them, Like it's a big world out there.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It's way more people. And you will turn a stranger
- 10:34Speaker 1: into a customer before you turn a family member or
- 10:38Speaker 1: a friend to a customer. So my biggest thing was
- 10:41Speaker 1: just knowing like I already dominated in my city, but
- 10:45Speaker 1: I want so much more. And I don't feel like
- 10:49Speaker 1: I would have ever done that if I would have
- 10:51Speaker 1: just stayed in Indianapolis and just been content with the
- 10:55Speaker 1: support I got there.
- 10:56Speaker 4: And well, we're from everybody that made it left like
- 10:59Speaker 4: Mike phyblical fox Babyface, everybody from our hometown that made
- 11:06Speaker 4: it left. Nobody made it living in Indianapolies.
- 11:11Speaker 1: East.
- 11:13Speaker 3: It's one of these things where I feel like from
- 11:15Speaker 3: the East, I feel like it's one of these things
- 11:20Speaker 3: that I always say, you can always come back home.
- 11:24Speaker 3: If worst comes to worst, you move your actra and
- 11:26Speaker 3: you're trying to move to l A, or you're trying
- 11:28Speaker 3: to go to Atlanta or one of these Miami, one
- 11:30Speaker 3: of these places. If it doesn't work out, you could
- 11:33Speaker 3: always go home, right, Like, you know that you're familiar
- 11:36Speaker 3: with that situation. But what about the regret that you're
- 11:39Speaker 3: gonna have because you never knew what would have happened.
- 11:43Speaker 3: If it's like that Drake song, like I'm leaving, I'm leaving,
- 11:46Speaker 3: like what would have happened if you would have packed
- 11:50Speaker 3: your bags and left, right? You always gotta lived with
- 11:52Speaker 3: that regret thinking about damn, I never know what could
- 11:56Speaker 3: have happened. At least you knew if it didn't work out.
- 11:58Speaker 3: At least you know I gave him my all. I tried,
- 12:00Speaker 3: you know, things didn't happen. Now I'm gonna come back home.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And even then, for me, going home is not an
- 12:04Speaker 1: option either. It's somewhere else to go, somewhere else.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Whoever said it was gonna be easy, Yeah, like every
- 12:11Speaker 4: it's supposed to be hard, it's supposed to be uncomfortable.
- 12:14Speaker 4: That's why when stuff happened to us, I like it,
- 12:17Speaker 4: don't phaze me because I already knew it was coming.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Like so being uncomfortable. Oh I don't want to leave.
- 12:22Speaker 4: I don't want to move. So you're just not gonna
- 12:24Speaker 4: move because you don't want to. Maybe you gotta move.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Like I got a daughter, My I left, my daughter,
- 12:29Speaker 4: still living in Annapolis and always daughter. It's a sacrifice.
- 12:33Speaker 4: She know what I'm doing here. She knows she's gonna
- 12:35Speaker 4: win out of it in the future.
- 12:37Speaker 2: You're building a legacy. Man, It's incredible. Six hundred dollars,
- 12:39Speaker 2: no job in jail. See it on the floor. Making
- 12:42Speaker 2: a decision to come to an event that turned into
- 12:45Speaker 2: a thousand dollar business, to a million dollar business, to
- 12:47Speaker 2: a multi million dollar business. It's an incredible story.
- 12:50Speaker 6: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 12:54Speaker 6: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 12:58Speaker 6: accused of murdering a text This man of Venezuelan charged
- 13:02Speaker 6: with filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are
- 13:06Speaker 6: just some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of
- 13:09Speaker 6: President Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United
- 13:13Speaker 6: States Secretary of Homeland Security under President Trump. Attempted illegal
- 13:18Speaker 6: border crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and
- 13:22Speaker 6: over one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If
- 13:25Speaker 6: you are here illegally, your next you will be fined
- 13:29Speaker 6: nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You
- 13:33Speaker 6: will never return. But if you register using our CBP
- 13:37Speaker 6: home app and leave now, you could be allowed to
- 13:39Speaker 6: return legally. Do what's right, leave now. Under President Trump,
- 13:44Speaker 6: America's laws, border and families will be protected. Sponsored by
- 13:49Speaker 6: the United States Department of Homeland Security,
