- 0:00Speaker 1: Lateener Welcome the Late Debate.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us. I'm James Macpherson with Liz Staer
- 0:09Speaker 2: and Caleb Bond here on the.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Late Debate coming up.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Spanish people sick of tourists have come up with a
- 0:15Speaker 2: novel way of getting rid of visitors.
- 0:17Speaker 3: If you're planning on.
- 0:18Speaker 2: A trip to Barcelona soon, you'll need to know what's
- 0:20Speaker 2: going on. Plus, when we look at the papers, the
- 0:23Speaker 2: Greens leader Adam Bant reckons they will replace Labor as
- 0:27Speaker 2: the center left party in Australia.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Go figure and a Queensland.
- 0:32Speaker 2: MP has promised to draorknock on the homes of people
- 0:34Speaker 2: who make negative comments about him on social media. I'm
- 0:38Speaker 2: not sure that's such a great idea. Talk about that
- 0:41Speaker 2: when we get to the papers. But Donald Trump has
- 0:44Speaker 2: given his first interview after surviving the assassination attempt at
- 0:47Speaker 2: the weekend. He talked about how he's lucky to be alive,
- 0:51Speaker 2: why his shoes fell off during the attack, and how
- 0:54Speaker 2: the events of the weekend will change his campaign going forward.
- 0:57Speaker 2: He spoke to a New York Post reporter. Let me
- 0:59Speaker 2: give you some of the key things that he said
- 1:02Speaker 2: and will talk about them. On surviving the assassination attempt.
- 1:05Speaker 2: He told the Post. The doctors at the hospital said
- 1:08Speaker 2: that they'd never seen anything like this. They called it
- 1:11Speaker 2: a miracle. I'm not supposed to be here. I'm supposed
- 1:14Speaker 2: to be dead. By luck or by God. Many people
- 1:17Speaker 2: are saying it's by God I'm still here, and calebin this.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I don't think anyone would disagree with that.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Had it not.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Been for that slight turn of the head at the
- 1:26Speaker 2: last moment and a couple of millimeters, we have a
- 1:30Speaker 2: very different story this week.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Indeed, the irony that looking at a chart of the
- 1:35Speaker 1: illegal immigration, the almost half of Australia's population that has
- 1:40Speaker 1: poured over the southern border during the Biden administration, that's
- 1:44Speaker 1: what he was looking at.
- 1:45Speaker 4: That is what saved his life. According to Trump's own
- 1:50Speaker 4: turn of events, he is like, that's what I was doing.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I just turned my head slightly to look at a
- 1:55Speaker 1: chart that I was talking about, and that is what
- 1:58Speaker 1: saved my life.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Said for many, many months now, it's this amount of
- 2:02Speaker 4: illegal immigration that's going to see him back into the
- 2:05Speaker 4: White House. Keeps talking about.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Illegal immigration, and here we see it having literally saved
- 2:12Speaker 1: his life.
- 2:12Speaker 4: So I do believe it's a miracle.
- 2:14Speaker 1: We are talking about millimeters between a grazed ears and
- 2:18Speaker 1: a bullet lodged in the brain.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And he well knows that and has attributed to.
- 2:24Speaker 1: An act of God in a tweet of his that
- 2:26Speaker 1: we'll get to in a bit.
- 2:28Speaker 5: We've actually found a reason that illegal immigration is good
- 2:31Speaker 5: for once.
- 2:32Speaker 6: You know, in saved Donald Trump's life.
- 2:34Speaker 5: And I mean this interview he did with the New
- 2:36Speaker 5: York Post is so Donald Trump in the quotes right now.
- 2:40Speaker 5: We'll get a bit later into what happened with the
- 2:42Speaker 5: Secret Service and how barely they blended things, but you know,
- 2:46Speaker 5: he does have to give some credit to them, and
- 2:48Speaker 5: he says in this interview, speaking of what the Secret
- 2:51Speaker 5: Service did to the bloker, tried to shoot him and
- 2:53Speaker 5: I'm not going to name him. He doesn't deserve it.
- 2:56Speaker 5: They took him out with one shot right between the eyes.
- 2:59Speaker 5: That did a fantastic job.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It's surreal for all of us.
- 3:01Speaker 5: The agents hit me so hard that my shoes fell off,
- 3:05Speaker 5: and my shoes are tight. Now it's good to know
- 3:07Speaker 5: that he's rocking around in tight shoes. But I was
- 3:09Speaker 5: wondering because, of course, when he stood back half. One
- 3:12Speaker 5: of the first things he said was let me get
- 3:14Speaker 5: my shoes.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Let me get my.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Shoes, And I was, what, I'm thinking, the dune's just
- 3:19Speaker 5: been shot, and the first thing he's concerned with is
- 3:23Speaker 5: getting his shoes. I thought maybe he got up on
- 3:25Speaker 5: stage and like, I don't know, he takes them off
- 3:27Speaker 5: so he can sort of wiggle his toes around while
- 3:29Speaker 5: he's up on the stage. But no, that with all
- 3:31Speaker 5: the thoughts that they hit him, his shoes came off.
- 3:33Speaker 5: And I also thought it was really funny to see
- 3:35Speaker 5: how scraggly his hair was, because we know how much
- 3:38Speaker 5: Trump cares about his look, right, and the hair is
- 3:41Speaker 5: the distinctive look. And he got well, the two pay
- 3:45Speaker 5: didn't come off. If it is a two pay, I
- 3:47Speaker 5: suspect it's his real hair actually. But anyway, he got
- 3:49Speaker 5: up and he looked like he had bad hair and
- 3:51Speaker 5: like he just had this gnarly look on him. It
- 3:54Speaker 5: was so good to see and the best that wasn't.
- 3:57Speaker 1: That was the highlight defy of this man. Keep in mind,
- 4:02Speaker 1: when he fell to the ground, all he'd done was grasp.
- 4:05Speaker 4: His ear and be like, oh, something's going on here.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Fell to the ground.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You don't actually know in those seconds he would have
- 4:12Speaker 1: been crouched on the ground, going am I shot?
- 4:14Speaker 4: Where am I shot?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I know that I'm bleeding, because a lot of people
- 4:18Speaker 1: when they are shot, their first question is.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Am I shot?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Because of course you adrenaline shoots through the roof. You
- 4:24Speaker 1: don't know how serious it is at the time, etc.
- 4:26Speaker 4: And so on.
- 4:27Speaker 1: As soon as he gets to his feet, he says wait, wait, wait,
- 4:31Speaker 1: wait to the Secret Service trying to wrestle him off stage,
- 4:35Speaker 1: raises his fist in defiance and mouths fight, fight, fight,
- 4:40Speaker 1: And that's what he spoke about next in this interview,
- 4:43Speaker 1: he said a lot of people say it's the most
- 4:46Speaker 1: iconic photo they've ever seen.
- 4:48Speaker 4: They're right, And I didn't die.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I just wanted to keep speaking, but I just got shot.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You don't get more Trump then this.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Of course, the lefty media took umbrage to the fact
- 5:05Speaker 1: that this had been his attitude seconds after being shot,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and they're saying, oh, that's not the message that we
- 5:11Speaker 1: think should be.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Sent right now, What on earth.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Other message do you want to see from the man
- 5:18Speaker 1: vying for the top spot? Yeah, as leader of the
- 5:21Speaker 1: free world, which is currently a joke. There's not much
- 5:24Speaker 1: freedom going on, is there, But Commander in Chief, that
- 5:28Speaker 1: is the kind of strength and dignity and fighting spirit.
- 5:32Speaker 4: That you want to see.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And a guy who's just been shot, and I dare
- 5:36Speaker 1: say at the time, again he still didn't know what
- 5:39Speaker 1: the damage was. And I dare say that was a
- 5:43Speaker 1: message to everyone there and watching around the world, no
- 5:46Speaker 1: matter what happens to me from this day forward, you
- 5:50Speaker 1: guys have got to continue the fight. Fight these guys.
- 5:54Speaker 1: He's called out Deep State. He said unteenth dozen times.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I'm going after these guys, these glos obal elites. I'm
- 6:01Speaker 1: not playing their game, which is why we always say
- 6:03Speaker 1: the establishment is genuinely terrified of this guy, and they've
- 6:07Speaker 1: got every reason to be. So he's saying, in my absence,
- 6:11Speaker 1: while I'm here, I'm fighting, but if I'm gone, you
- 6:14Speaker 1: guys fight.
- 6:16Speaker 2: His presence of mind in that moment, he says in
- 6:18Speaker 2: the interview that he was very aware, and how he
- 6:20Speaker 2: was aware in the split seconds with everything that was
- 6:23Speaker 2: happening says a lot about him.
- 6:25Speaker 3: But he said, I was very aware.
- 6:26Speaker 2: The whole world is watching this moment, and so I've
- 6:28Speaker 2: got to make sure I project strength the other thing
- 6:31Speaker 2: I love about Trump is the internal contradictions. One minute
- 6:34Speaker 2: he's saying, but for the grace of God, and the
- 6:37Speaker 2: next minuting he's saying, I'm a living icon.
- 6:41Speaker 3: To this hum all the same thing.
- 6:44Speaker 2: And I mean he's just been shot that he says,
- 6:46Speaker 2: but how good was the folk?
- 6:49Speaker 5: But this is Trump, right, like the political brain just
- 6:53Speaker 5: doesn't turn off, and he knew how important that moment
- 6:57Speaker 5: was and what that image would be. I mean, look,
- 6:59Speaker 5: I just like to be the photographer from the Associated
- 7:02Speaker 5: Press that took that photo, because my goodness, you can
- 7:05Speaker 5: just retire to an you want for the rest of
- 7:07Speaker 5: your life, right, just live off the proceeds of that photo,
- 7:10Speaker 5: because that's going to be in every political textbook, It's
- 7:14Speaker 5: going to be in every history class. It is going
- 7:16Speaker 5: to be absolutely plastered everywhere for hundreds and hundreds of years.
- 7:20Speaker 5: But of course, the other thing is that the Republican
- 7:22Speaker 5: National Conference kicks off today American time, and you'll be
- 7:26Speaker 5: able to watch the live coverage of that here on
- 7:28Speaker 5: Sky News from nine am tomorrow Eastern Standard time. And
- 7:33Speaker 5: he had a speech prepared because of course, he will
- 7:36Speaker 5: be confirmed as the presidential nominee for the Republican Party,
- 7:41Speaker 5: and he had a speech confirmed that he put together
- 7:43Speaker 5: for that. Well, he's thrown all of that out now,
- 7:45Speaker 5: because of course, there have been some different events over
- 7:47Speaker 5: the last couple of days. About this, he said, I
- 7:50Speaker 5: had prepared an extremely tough speech, really good, all about
- 7:53Speaker 5: the corrupt, horrible administration, but I threw it away. I
- 7:56Speaker 5: want to try to unite our country, but I don't
- 7:59Speaker 5: know if that's possible. People are very divided, and you're
- 8:04Speaker 5: probably going to see from now on a somewhat different Trump,
- 8:08Speaker 5: I think, because the campaign on both sides to this
- 8:12Speaker 5: point has very much been a well, Biden hates Trump
- 8:15Speaker 5: and Trump hates Biden. We hate each other, the other
- 8:18Speaker 5: guy's bad, don't vote for him. You have to vote
- 8:20Speaker 5: for me to save the country, et cetera, et cetera.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Now that we've had this pressure point reached with Trump
- 8:25Speaker 5: being shot, and Trump has such a moral high ground
- 8:29Speaker 5: now that he can he doesn't have to go out
- 8:32Speaker 5: there and say Joe's terrible, right, that's sort of a
- 8:35Speaker 5: moot point. Now he can say, Look, they came after me,
- 8:40Speaker 5: and I've always said that I stand between you and them,
- 8:44Speaker 5: So I need you to come with me and rebuild
- 8:46Speaker 5: this country together, go back to the original make America
- 8:50Speaker 5: great again mantra, and he probably doesn't have to mention
- 8:53Speaker 5: Joe Biden at all until November.
- 8:56Speaker 6: From this point onwards.
- 8:57Speaker 1: We've just stolen their tagline because they were forever every
- 9:01Speaker 1: single Trump election, they've been like, he's so divisive, he's
- 9:06Speaker 1: dividing the country. We the Democrats, we will unite the country.
- 9:11Speaker 1: The country's never been more divided. After four years of
- 9:14Speaker 1: a Biden administration, the country has never been more divided.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And one of Trump's last tweets, most recently on his
- 9:23Speaker 1: Truth social platform was just all caps, unite America and
- 9:28Speaker 1: a million exclamation masks, because that's how Trump writes.
- 9:32Speaker 4: So he's stolen their catchphrase.
- 9:35Speaker 7: You know.
- 9:35Speaker 1: He's like, no, I've always said, they're not after me,
- 9:39Speaker 1: They're after you. I'm just in the way. And don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: we know it? Twice in Peach, four times, indicted, buried
- 9:47Speaker 1: in law.
- 9:48Speaker 4: For, and now shot at.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And this guy stands to his feet and tells everyone
- 9:53Speaker 1: watching worldwide, fight these mongrels.
- 9:57Speaker 4: I love it.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Trump's been given an incredible opportunity now to be a statesman,
- 10:01Speaker 2: to bring people together, not just in America, but.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Around the world.
- 10:04Speaker 2: He can really make a massive difference if he gets
- 10:06Speaker 2: his tone right and the fact that he I mean,
- 10:09Speaker 2: he said, I had this brilliant speech all ready to go.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I was going to slam Joe Biden on every front,
- 10:15Speaker 2: and he's torn that up. Said I'm going to write
- 10:17Speaker 2: something different, try and bring people together. And of course
- 10:20Speaker 2: he can do that because Biden's entire campaign has been
- 10:23Speaker 2: about dividing everybody up. So Biden can try to be
- 10:26Speaker 2: a unite it. No one believes him. Trump can do it,
- 10:29Speaker 2: and if he does, I think he can surprise a.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Lot of people.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Let's talk about the attack itself, because there's a lot
- 10:34Speaker 2: of questions around how it happened and what police and
- 10:38Speaker 2: Secret Service were doing. There are reports that a police officer,
- 10:43Speaker 2: having been told by the crowd that the shooter was
- 10:45Speaker 2: on a roof, climbed a ladder and confronted the shooter
- 10:48Speaker 2: before any shots were fired. The shooter turned the rifle
- 10:52Speaker 2: on the police officer, who promptly went back down the ladder,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and then after that shots were taken at Trump. But
- 10:58Speaker 2: have a look at this system vs of bystanders watching
- 11:02Speaker 2: on seeing the shooter on the roof and calling out
- 11:04Speaker 2: to police.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Look because we have cont dangerous.
- 11:22Speaker 1: On the world.
- 11:23Speaker 2: So you can clearly see there there's people yelling out
- 11:26Speaker 2: to the police. We can see someone with a rifle
- 11:28Speaker 2: on the roof. Have a listen to this witness who
- 11:30Speaker 2: says I tried to get the attention of police.
- 11:33Speaker 8: The police are down there running around on the ground.
- 11:36Speaker 8: We're like, hey, man, there's guy on the roof with
- 11:39Speaker 8: the rifle. And the police are like, huh what, you know,
- 11:41Speaker 8: like like they didn't know what was going on.
- 11:44Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:44Speaker 8: We're like, hey, right here on the roof, we can
- 11:45Speaker 8: see him from right here, we see him, you know,
- 11:48Speaker 8: he's he's crawling. And next thing you know, I'm like,
- 11:52Speaker 8: I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, why is Trump still speaking?
- 11:54Speaker 8: Why have they not pulled him off the stage. I'm
- 11:57Speaker 8: standing there pointing at him for you know, three minutes.
- 12:01Speaker 8: Secret Service is looking at us from the top of
- 12:03Speaker 8: the bone. I'm pointing at that roof, just standing it
- 12:06Speaker 8: like this, and next thing you know, five truttering out.
- 12:13Speaker 3: There's a lot of questions listening to that. Caleb. Very
- 12:16Speaker 3: clearly members of.
- 12:18Speaker 2: The public spot of the shooter before the security agencies.
- 12:22Speaker 5: It is a monumental failure from every perspective, right, And
- 12:27Speaker 5: I mean we can go through the whole lot of it,
- 12:29Speaker 5: from the Secret Service to the local cop going up
- 12:31Speaker 5: the ladder and the whole thing. But to have so
- 12:33Speaker 5: many people have acknowledged that he was there and were
- 12:37Speaker 5: aware that he was there. You can see in the
- 12:39Speaker 5: footage him on the roof at various points moving up
- 12:43Speaker 5: and down. You can see his body, then he gets
- 12:45Speaker 5: back down and that it's harder.
- 12:46Speaker 3: To see it.
- 12:47Speaker 5: But of course the Secret Service that were set up
- 12:49Speaker 5: on a roof behind Trump were from an elevated position,
- 12:53Speaker 5: so they should have been able to go.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, in the way they couldn't see.
- 12:58Speaker 5: And that bloke there who spoke to the BBC and
- 13:02Speaker 5: that reported, by the way, I have to say, did
- 13:04Speaker 5: some great work over the weekend. And he's fully blind
- 13:07Speaker 5: as well, which just makes the reporting he did that
- 13:10Speaker 5: much more extraordinary. But what he is saying there is
- 13:14Speaker 5: that I did my darndest to let them know that.
- 13:18Speaker 6: This bloke was there.
- 13:19Speaker 5: I could see it, everyone else could see it, and
- 13:21Speaker 5: yet nothing was done. Minutes went by. Now I understand
- 13:26Speaker 5: that if there's someone on the roof, the Secret Service
- 13:30Speaker 5: or the local copy went up the ladder might be
- 13:33Speaker 5: somewhat reticent to shoot before they know why he's there
- 13:37Speaker 5: and what he's motiv.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Concealed carry.
- 13:45Speaker 5: But that's what is so extraordinary about it, is why
- 13:49Speaker 5: at any point in that four or five minutes did
- 13:52Speaker 5: they not make the call to take the shot until
- 13:56Speaker 5: he had fired a shot, or.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Even on that, if they weren't going to take the shot,
- 14:00Speaker 2: at least get Donald Trump off the stage and into
- 14:03Speaker 2: a place of safety while you figure out is this
- 14:05Speaker 2: a threat or is it just someone on the roof
- 14:07Speaker 2: with a.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Right Why, I'm outright saying this is not a loan
- 14:12Speaker 1: gunman there I have listened to.
- 14:15Speaker 4: In fact, I've listened.
- 14:16Speaker 1: To nothing else but experts, people who work for the
- 14:19Speaker 1: Secret Service, people who have worked for the Secret Service.
- 14:24Speaker 4: This is literally impossible to do without.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Help from the inside. Now, I'm not saying it was
- 14:30Speaker 1: an inside job. There would have just been a handful
- 14:32Speaker 1: of people who could have been involved in something like that.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But the likelihood that a twenty year old kid could
- 14:39Speaker 1: access an area that the Secret Service already knew had
- 14:43Speaker 1: a direct line of sight was just four hundred yards
- 14:46Speaker 1: from the podium is beyond It's not believable. Which is
- 14:52Speaker 1: why I will not believe it he was able to
- 14:55Speaker 1: scale a ladder. You had people in the audience who
- 14:59Speaker 1: are like, you can see him, he's right there. We
- 15:02Speaker 1: just saw him right there on their little phone cams.
- 15:04Speaker 1: He was lying on the roof. He clearly had a rifle.
- 15:08Speaker 1: This wasn't some concealed carry type pistol arrangement.
- 15:12Speaker 4: You have to set it up.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You've got a scope and when you look at there's
- 15:16Speaker 1: a few maps here we've.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Got for you.
- 15:17Speaker 1: When you look at where the counter snipers were located
- 15:22Speaker 1: in relation to where this shooter was, there is.
- 15:26Speaker 4: No way they can't have seen him.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Now we know these advanced teams go out weeks, sometimes
- 15:33Speaker 1: months in advance to every location at which an event
- 15:37Speaker 1: like this is going to take place. They have one job,
- 15:41Speaker 1: protect the guy in this case, Donald Trump.
- 15:45Speaker 4: That is it. These guys are trained snipers.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Within a thousand yards, they can kill a bee. They're
- 15:54Speaker 1: trained to notice even if a window is open, a
- 15:57Speaker 1: crack through which someone could be shooting. And you mean
- 16:01Speaker 1: to tell me they didn't notice a twenty year old
- 16:04Speaker 1: kid mounting an area that they already knew was top
- 16:08Speaker 1: priority risk territory getting up there with a rifle setting
- 16:13Speaker 1: up a rifle. The kid didn't even attempt to dress
- 16:16Speaker 1: like one of them.
- 16:17Speaker 4: He wasn't wearing all black.
- 16:19Speaker 1: He was just in every day clothes and he took
- 16:23Speaker 1: this shot. They had seen him, They did know he
- 16:26Speaker 1: was there, The people knew he was.
- 16:28Speaker 4: There, the cops knew they were there.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And you mean to tell me the count of snipers
- 16:32Speaker 1: didn't know he was there, So what were they waiting for?
- 16:35Speaker 1: They took him out within seconds of him actually opening fire.
- 16:39Speaker 1: But why on earth would you wait for that to
- 16:42Speaker 1: occur before you take this guy out? And I don't
- 16:45Speaker 1: necessarily mean a kill shot. These snipers are so good
- 16:49Speaker 1: at what they do. They could have easily shot both.
- 16:51Speaker 4: His arms off given and then we would have.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Been able to actually take him to a court of
- 16:55Speaker 1: law and be like, guys, explain what were you doing
- 16:59Speaker 1: up there?
- 17:00Speaker 4: He is an MSNBC reporter pointing.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Out some of these very poignant, undeniably inconvenient facts.
- 17:09Speaker 9: A senior Secret Service source familiar with the planning of
- 17:12Speaker 9: yesterday's event tells NBC News that the roof where the
- 17:15Speaker 9: shooter was located was a well known, high priority vulnerability.
- 17:20Speaker 9: It was identified just the day before during a security walkthrough.
- 17:24Speaker 9: We've also just learned that there were two counter sniper
- 17:27Speaker 9: teams on site and that the counter sniper did not
- 17:31Speaker 9: need approval to shoot, one source telling NBC News that
- 17:35Speaker 9: prior protocols were not followed. The FBI now says the
- 17:39Speaker 9: alleged shooter, twenty year old Thomas Matthew Crooks, appears to
- 17:42Speaker 9: have acted alone.
- 17:45Speaker 4: This is why I say. They let him on the roof.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They knew he was there, They watched him set up
- 17:50Speaker 1: the rifle, they knew he had a rifle. They waited
- 17:53Speaker 1: till he opened fire to open fire themselves. He's dead
- 17:58Speaker 1: and now he can't talk. Sorry, I'm just not buying.
- 18:01Speaker 2: You got five shots off, I believe before the Service
- 18:05Speaker 2: managed to take care of him. He's a former Secret
- 18:08Speaker 2: Service agent, saying that the Secret Service would have had
- 18:12Speaker 2: a clear view of the shooter, and yet they waited
- 18:15Speaker 2: until he fired before they took him out.
- 18:18Speaker 10: It's gross and competence. I mean, how do you let
- 18:20Speaker 10: I mean think about it right? The counter sniper team
- 18:22Speaker 10: they train out the Secret Service count sniper team. Obviously
- 18:24Speaker 10: they are mitigative sniper thread. They train out to one
- 18:27Speaker 10: thousand yards, so we're talking about say it was two
- 18:29Speaker 10: hundred yards, it was actually less than that where this
- 18:32Speaker 10: shooter was right, you're talking about a fraction of what
- 18:36Speaker 10: they're trained at. They're also trained to spot guys in
- 18:39Speaker 10: gilli suits, cracked open windows. He's on a white roof
- 18:44Speaker 10: in broad daily on a white roof. Now again, it'd
- 18:48Speaker 10: be easy for me to say, oh, well, let's not
- 18:50Speaker 10: get into Monday morning quarterback, bro. It's not a freaking
- 18:53Speaker 10: football game. It's the President of the United States's life.
- 18:56Speaker 10: The Secret Service has one job.
- 19:00Speaker 3: It's a great point.
- 19:01Speaker 2: The Secret Service had one job, and Caleb they totally
- 19:04Speaker 2: blew it.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Well, yes, indeed quite literally, if you want to go
- 19:09Speaker 5: to that extreme. And the result of that is that
- 19:12Speaker 5: Trump was very lucky to get away with his life.
- 19:14Speaker 5: But at least one person is now dead, two others
- 19:18Speaker 5: are critically injured as a result of that. If that
- 19:21Speaker 5: shot had been taken earlier, you wouldn't have dead people, right,
- 19:26Speaker 5: And listening to the accounts of those who were in
- 19:29Speaker 5: the crowd and what they saw, I mean the bloke
- 19:33Speaker 5: who was shot and died, he had a bullet through
- 19:36Speaker 5: the head. A doctor was describing yesterday that he saw
- 19:40Speaker 5: his brain matter come out the other side of his head.
- 19:43Speaker 5: You can imagine. I mean, he's a doctor, so I'm
- 19:45Speaker 5: sure he's more desensitized to it, but you can imagine
- 19:47Speaker 5: how traumatic that is for everyone else around.
- 19:50Speaker 6: And when you.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Listen to the full footage of the attack, Trump goes
- 19:55Speaker 5: down at about ten seconds later, you hear a guttural
- 19:59Speaker 5: scream from a woman in the audience, which I assume
- 20:02Speaker 5: is her realizing that someone else has been killed, because
- 20:06Speaker 5: of course there was another woman who was hit. All
- 20:09Speaker 5: of this just seems terribly avoidable, and the fact that
- 20:13Speaker 5: something wasn't done earlier about it is an absolute disgrace.
- 20:16Speaker 1: But nobody needs to worry, right because the FBI are
- 20:20Speaker 1: going to investigate it. The same FBI who told you
- 20:24Speaker 1: that Hunter Biden's laptop wasn't Hunter Biden's laptop. The same
- 20:28Speaker 1: FBI who raided Trump's Mary Lago home for confidential information,
- 20:33Speaker 1: but let Hillary Clinton off for a slap with a
- 20:36Speaker 1: slap on the wrist when they discovered that she had
- 20:38Speaker 1: a private server from which she sent hundreds of confidential
- 20:43Speaker 1: docks while she was in the highest halls of power.
- 20:45Speaker 1: The same FBI that told everyone back in twenty sixteen
- 20:50Speaker 1: that Russia was colluding with Trump, and that just no
- 20:54Speaker 1: one should vote for him because well, he's clearly a
- 20:57Speaker 1: Russian plant. The same FBI who couldn't even figure out
- 21:02Speaker 1: who's crack cocaine was in the White House last year,
- 21:05Speaker 1: even though Hunter Biden had been visiting that weekend. This
- 21:08Speaker 1: FBI is on the case, and I'm sure they're going
- 21:12Speaker 1: to get to the look because it's not like they've
- 21:14Speaker 1: ever had it in for Trump.
- 21:15Speaker 5: It was clearly it was clearly Joe's, because you know,
- 21:18Speaker 5: he needs it to sort of pep himself up. The
- 21:19Speaker 5: crack cocaine. I mean, but so we talk about the
- 21:23Speaker 5: snipers and how badly they stuffed it up, but the
- 21:25Speaker 5: response on the ground from the Secret Service was just
- 21:29Speaker 5: as shoddy. You may have seen some of the photos
- 21:32Speaker 5: and footage of particularly what some of the female Secret
- 21:35Speaker 5: Service agents were doing in the aftermath of Trump being
- 21:39Speaker 5: shot in the ear. Here is an example of some
- 21:42Speaker 5: of the clear bungling that was going on when one
- 21:47Speaker 5: of the most famous men in the world, who should
- 21:49Speaker 5: be one of the most protected men in the world,
- 21:52Speaker 5: happened to be shot on stage.
- 22:19Speaker 6: I mean, look at that woman.
- 22:20Speaker 5: She can't even get a gun back in the whole splster.
- 22:25Speaker 5: This is a woman who's charged with protecting Donald Trump,
- 22:29Speaker 5: and she doesn't even know what.
- 22:29Speaker 6: To do with her gun.
- 22:30Speaker 2: The agent beside her is adjusting her sunglasses continually make
- 22:33Speaker 2: sure she looks the part as a Seal Services agent.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I mean, they're racing around like headless chalks, with no
- 22:40Speaker 2: idea what they're supposed to be doing. If you listen
- 22:43Speaker 2: really carefully, and we haven't got this particular vision. But
- 22:45Speaker 2: when Trump goes down and the Secret Service agents jump
- 22:49Speaker 2: on him, if you listen really carefully, you can hear
- 22:52Speaker 2: the female agents say what are we doing?
- 22:54Speaker 3: What are we doing? Where are we going?
- 22:57Speaker 2: They train for just this moment, and then when the
- 23:00Speaker 2: moment arrives, she needs the guidebook to figure out what
- 23:03Speaker 2: she's supposed to do.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And all of this, of course.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Now goes back to the Secret Service director Kimberly Chitl,
- 23:10Speaker 2: who explained last year that she was very proud that
- 23:14Speaker 2: the Secret Service was well on track to have thirty
- 23:16Speaker 2: percent of their agent's female. We saw how that just
- 23:19Speaker 2: worked out. But here she is talking about this great
- 23:22Speaker 2: diversity in the Secret Service.
- 23:23Speaker 11: Last year to expand hiring, they're aiming to have thirty
- 23:27Speaker 11: percent women recruits by twenty thirty, and even allowed YouTube
- 23:32Speaker 11: influencer Michelle Cary to trade with agents.
- 23:35Speaker 12: But I'm very conscious as I sit in this chair
- 23:40Speaker 12: now of making sure that we need to attract diverse
- 23:43Speaker 12: candidates and ensure that we are developing and giving opportunities
- 23:47Speaker 12: to everybody in our workforce, and particularly women.
- 23:51Speaker 2: That's wonderful to give opportunities for women. Just maybe this
- 23:54Speaker 2: might not be the opportunity. Have a look at this
- 23:57Speaker 2: image from the campaign speech where the Secret Service agents
- 24:02Speaker 2: jump on top of Trump. You can see they're covering
- 24:05Speaker 2: Trump's body. But have a look just to the left
- 24:07Speaker 2: of the photograph, there's a Secret Service agent there just
- 24:11Speaker 2: taking shelter all on her own, Calebin Liz Well, not
- 24:14Speaker 2: too worried about the presence, dear. Look at it.
- 24:18Speaker 1: On the right, you've got men doing their job, literally
- 24:22Speaker 1: shielding Trump with their own bodies. They didn't know that
- 24:25Speaker 1: they weren't about to be peppered with bullets from wherever
- 24:29Speaker 1: this source was, or if indeed there were many sources
- 24:32Speaker 1: that were about to open fire. And then you've got
- 24:35Speaker 1: these women crouching behind them.
- 24:37Speaker 4: By putting her head, I don't know what she thinks
- 24:40Speaker 4: she's doing.
- 24:41Speaker 1: But I've always said this, you cannot send a woman
- 24:44Speaker 1: to do a man's job. And before people say, oh,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you're being way too harsh.
- 24:49Speaker 4: On women, let's be clear here.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Not every kind of men would be performing well under
- 24:56Speaker 1: pressure when their lives are at state. Job is to
- 25:00Speaker 1: literally throw yourself in harm's way in a highly pressured
- 25:05Speaker 1: environment where you know, in this moment, this could be.
- 25:08Speaker 4: My last moment.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Well, the other problem is, sorry, this is this is
- 25:11Speaker 1: not This is not a profession for every man, and
- 25:14Speaker 1: it's certainly not a profession for any it's.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Not a profession for every body type. Because one of
- 25:19Speaker 2: the female agents was clearly not tall enough to provide
- 25:23Speaker 2: cover for Donald Trump, who's a pretty big guy. But
- 25:26Speaker 2: there's some footage of where she's standing in front of him.
- 25:28Speaker 2: But clearly you could still get a shot off on
- 25:31Speaker 2: Trump because he's got large enough to cover his body exactly.
- 25:34Speaker 5: And look, I take your point, Liz, but look, to
- 25:37Speaker 5: be perfectly honest, if I needed a bodyguard, I wouldn't
- 25:39Speaker 5: mind you for the job. I think you'd I think
- 25:42Speaker 5: you'd be pretty fearsome in these kind of.
- 25:48Speaker 2: You want you don't want Liz providing cover for your body.
- 25:52Speaker 2: You want this as a sniper because she wouldn't even
- 25:54Speaker 2: ask for question.
- 25:56Speaker 4: You first, does look a bit dodgy.
- 26:05Speaker 5: I'm putting Liz on the payroll along with a bloke
- 26:07Speaker 5: I know called Rory, who would have no trouble taking
- 26:11Speaker 5: someone out. In fact, he should have been there doing
- 26:13Speaker 5: the job yesterday. But I had Evelyn Ray on The
- 26:16Speaker 5: Sunday Showdown last night, seven pm. Every Sunday, by the way,
- 26:19Speaker 5: you should watch it. I sit in the middle and
- 26:20Speaker 5: host it. It's a great show.
- 26:22Speaker 6: And then some show afterwards. What's it called, Brian, It's.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Called the Nicko and James and it's a wonderful program.
- 26:28Speaker 2: The show, the Showdown kind of warms you up.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Oh right, I'll take it. I'll take it.
- 26:34Speaker 5: I'll take it.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Starting hack.
- 26:36Speaker 5: But Evelyn Ray was on the show last night, and
- 26:38Speaker 5: Evelyn is a former copper and she has worked in
- 26:41Speaker 5: dignitary protection and she was going through methodically all the
- 26:45Speaker 5: mistakes that the Secret Service had made made on that
- 26:48Speaker 5: stage and when they got off the stage, and one
- 26:50Speaker 5: of the things she pointed out was that the one
- 26:52Speaker 5: part of the body you must always protect is the
- 26:55Speaker 5: torso because this bit here has all your vital organs
- 26:58Speaker 5: in it, and they call it kill zone. And there
- 27:01Speaker 5: was a point where they're taking Trump off the stage
- 27:04Speaker 5: and he's holding his hat, his make America grat Again hat,
- 27:09Speaker 5: and he drops the hat.
- 27:11Speaker 6: And then what you'll see here.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Is that the officer, the female officer in front of him,
- 27:15Speaker 5: goes down and picks up the hat, and in doing so,
- 27:20Speaker 5: she has exposed his Torso, now can you imagine if
- 27:23Speaker 5: there happened to be and you'll see it again there,
- 27:25Speaker 5: if there had happened to be another shooter there yesterday,
- 27:30Speaker 5: she has just exposed his heart, his lungs, everything, so
- 27:35Speaker 5: that they could have taken another shot.
- 27:37Speaker 6: Like you don't have to pick the hat up.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Only the hell a female would bend down for the hat.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Those guys, I'm remotely interested in his head. We then
- 27:47Speaker 4: get here out of them.
- 27:49Speaker 3: We had a fire alarm gold for our place. Today.
- 27:51Speaker 2: My son was home with me. I said, come on,
- 27:53Speaker 2: let's go, and he said, can I just grab? I said, mate,
- 27:55Speaker 2: let's just let's just go. Just we'll be all right. Well,
- 27:58Speaker 2: you've got someone shooting and he's got ticket service. Have
- 28:00Speaker 2: you got is shoes have.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Trump's call like dignity.
- 28:08Speaker 3: They still allow him to do it now.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Of course, it didn't take long for the lefties to
- 28:14Speaker 1: take to their various social media platforms too mourn the
- 28:18Speaker 1: fact that they were just millimeters away, well a millimeter away.
- 28:23Speaker 4: From seeing the end of Donald Trump.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Here's comedian Kristen Toomey announcing to her over eighty thousand
- 28:32Speaker 1: followers that it was such.
- 28:34Speaker 4: A shame skinner's ear.
- 28:37Speaker 5: You know, It's like it was right there.
- 28:42Speaker 4: And I think, I think we're going to look back.
- 28:44Speaker 3: On that and go.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Not to be outdone.
- 28:49Speaker 1: This random blondie sitting in her car was having a
- 28:53Speaker 1: meltdown and wanted the world to know that she couldn't
- 28:56Speaker 1: believe that the sniper had missed it by this much.
- 29:01Speaker 4: I just found out about this shit. It just happened.
- 29:05Speaker 4: I haven't even had a second to process.
- 29:08Speaker 8: You're telling me somebody finally had the balls to bring
- 29:13Speaker 8: a few of you.
- 29:16Speaker 4: We were a second away.
- 29:18Speaker 7: We were a setameter away from half of the problem
- 29:21Speaker 7: being gone, and you messed.
- 29:24Speaker 4: There was a white man attached to that trigger.
- 29:26Speaker 6: I know it. We were a centimeter away.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Oh, throwing black men under the bus there, lady, I mean,
- 29:36Speaker 1: this is unhinged, right if anyone's feeling this way, you'd
- 29:41Speaker 1: think surely they just take a long, hard look at
- 29:43Speaker 1: themselves and say, wait, if I am genuinely championing on,
- 29:49Speaker 1: cheering on the cold blooded murder of a man who's
- 29:53Speaker 1: not just a president, former president, maybe president again, God willing,
- 29:59Speaker 1: And I think after rec and events, we can all
- 30:00Speaker 1: say God probably is rather willing, then maybe I'm the
- 30:04Speaker 1: animal if I'm cheering on the death of this husband,
- 30:08Speaker 1: this father, this guy who, no matter what you believe
- 30:12Speaker 1: about him, is still a living, breathing human being. But
- 30:16Speaker 1: of course the media has told these guys for years
- 30:19Speaker 1: on end. Now Trump is literally hitler. Trump is the
- 30:22Speaker 1: greatest threat to our democracy. If Trump gets back into
- 30:26Speaker 1: the White House, it.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Is the end of the world as we know it.
- 30:30Speaker 1: So it was no surprise to hear former White House
- 30:33Speaker 1: Press Secretary Jen Saki.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Is that how you say the Latin name.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Take use her platform to tell everybody that, well, I
- 30:42Speaker 1: think we're all under threat.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Now, we're all in the same boat.
- 30:46Speaker 13: Really, for anyone out there who has a platform who
- 30:49Speaker 13: thinks the moment right now is to be political and
- 30:51Speaker 13: attack the other party, you are feeding into the danger.
- 30:55Speaker 13: You are making it more likely there's retaliation. I'm incredibly scared,
- 31:00Speaker 13: scared for journalists. I'm scared for people who have public
- 31:02Speaker 13: platforms of all parties, and that's how people should feel.
- 31:06Speaker 1: It's the journalist who has been spreading this hysteria, this
- 31:10Speaker 1: Trump derangement syndrome for years now, and they genuinely I
- 31:16Speaker 1: have not heard one person own their own rhetoric and say,
- 31:20Speaker 1: perhaps we had a part to play.
- 31:22Speaker 4: We've had the.
- 31:23Speaker 1: President of the United States, Biden, get up and say, oh,
- 31:26Speaker 1: we need to take things down a notch, we need
- 31:28Speaker 1: to calm things down again. No responsibility taken for the
- 31:32Speaker 1: fact that he himself, the very top, has been championing
- 31:36Speaker 1: this kind of rhetoric, this kind of end of the
- 31:39Speaker 1: world narrative, and young people have taken that on board.
- 31:43Speaker 2: When Biden said we need to turn down the retric
- 31:45Speaker 2: he was looking at a television camera. He should have
- 31:47Speaker 2: been looking at a mirror, because he was the one
- 31:49Speaker 2: that needed to hear that message. And the hypocrisy of
- 31:51Speaker 2: the left is just incredible. That white woman who is
- 31:54Speaker 2: going mental about the fact that the shooter missed, and
- 31:57Speaker 2: I remember they always accused Trump. One of Trump's made
- 32:00Speaker 2: sins that he's such a racist. But did you notice
- 32:02Speaker 2: she finishes off for a rant by saying, I bett
- 32:05Speaker 2: he miss because he was a white guy, a stupid
- 32:07Speaker 2: white man. So the hypocrisy is just quite.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Yeah, she was a white.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Guy, but who.
- 32:17Speaker 4: We know the homicide stats late.
- 32:20Speaker 6: And he wasn't just a white guy.
- 32:21Speaker 5: He was a weedy white guy. I mean, look, to
- 32:23Speaker 5: be perfectly honest, he's the last person I'd trust to
- 32:25Speaker 5: do that sort of job.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Then you've got Democrat staffers like Jacqueline Marsaw.
- 32:30Speaker 3: She's just been sacked, and so she ought to have been.
- 32:33Speaker 2: She went on Facebook criticizing the fact that the next
- 32:37Speaker 2: person who takes a shot that Trump should make sure
- 32:40Speaker 2: they have shooting lessons so that they don't miss. Now,
- 32:44Speaker 2: the fact that she would post something like that on Facebook,
- 32:48Speaker 2: she's working for Democrat Representative Benny Thompson, who I'll talk
- 32:53Speaker 2: about in the second.
- 32:54Speaker 3: But the fact that she would go on.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Facebook and say, gee, the shooters should get lessons so
- 32:57Speaker 2: next time they don't miss speaks to the fact that
- 33:00Speaker 2: she obviously feels comfortable speaking in those terms because of
- 33:04Speaker 2: the people that have been around about her. It should
- 33:06Speaker 2: be noted the Democrat congressman she works for just a
- 33:10Speaker 2: couple of months, tried to pass legislation that would have
- 33:13Speaker 2: taken the Secret Service detail away from Donald Trump as
- 33:17Speaker 2: a convicted felon. So she's been sacked rightly so, but
- 33:22Speaker 2: it's the fact that she would make those comments in
- 33:24Speaker 2: the first place tells you the kind of environment she's
- 33:27Speaker 2: been working in well.
- 33:28Speaker 5: To be perfectly honest, if they took away his secret
- 33:30Speaker 5: Service and he had to get some private operators have
- 33:33Speaker 5: done a job.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I I watched this clip of this guy, this black dude,
- 33:41Speaker 1: he's clearly in the hood.
- 33:43Speaker 4: And he's like, Donald Trump, my man.
- 33:44Speaker 1: He's like, if you want people who would never let
- 33:47Speaker 1: this happen to you, you just need fifty d's.
- 33:51Speaker 4: From the herd.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Man, we would never allow this to happen to you.
- 33:54Speaker 1: He clearly knew that black guys are a.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Better shot as well, because he was saying this would
- 33:58Speaker 4: never happen on our You.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Get some hardcore caanngsters from the hood, and we will
- 34:04Speaker 1: lay down our lives.
- 34:05Speaker 5: Taking the secret servers away. Could We'll have been a
- 34:08Speaker 5: blissing in disguise. But we show Jim Saki there, right,
- 34:11Speaker 5: And I had a name Saki because.
- 34:13Speaker 6: Saki is a very nice drink. She's not quite so palatable.
- 34:16Speaker 5: But I was watching some of the CNN coverage yesterday,
- 34:20Speaker 5: just flicking around the various channels, and in between one
- 34:23Speaker 5: or two decent interviews with people who were actually in
- 34:26Speaker 5: the crowd, they had some seriously nutty stuff yesterday, including
- 34:32Speaker 5: questioning that image we talked about before Trump puts his
- 34:35Speaker 5: fist up in the air, the defiance, the strength that
- 34:38Speaker 5: he is showing to the nation and the world. On CNN,
- 34:43Speaker 5: they were complaining that that in itself was inflammatory and
- 34:47Speaker 5: that I don't know, he just sort of deserved it
- 34:49Speaker 5: or something.
- 34:51Speaker 6: I do want to say.
- 34:52Speaker 7: There was one thing that when I watched the tip
- 34:55Speaker 7: I found odd because of all of the hit di
- 35:00Speaker 7: and that is that after he was hit fromer, President
- 35:05Speaker 7: Trump got up and said, fate, fate, fate. I think
- 35:09Speaker 7: what we're hearing from people is that's not the message
- 35:13Speaker 7: that we want to be center right now.
- 35:15Speaker 4: We want to tamp it down.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Ah, right, So the bloke's just been shot in the ear,
- 35:21Speaker 5: and you want him to get up and give you
- 35:23Speaker 5: some sort of conciliatory speech.
- 35:25Speaker 6: Yeah, look, it's all good.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Let's just turn the temperature down for a little while. Guys,
- 35:29Speaker 5: dude's just been shot. And straight after he was shot,
- 35:33Speaker 5: and it's plainly clear to you and I and anyone
- 35:35Speaker 5: else who was watching at the time that they were gunshots.
- 35:38Speaker 5: It's not like it was just firecrackers. And then Trump
- 35:41Speaker 5: just magically had blood coming out of his ear because
- 35:44Speaker 5: the decibels were too high. He was shot.
- 35:47Speaker 6: In the ear.
- 35:48Speaker 5: And they had the timirity on CNN to say that
- 35:53Speaker 5: the threat of something like this happening was not legitimate.
- 35:59Speaker 9: Donald Trump, people around him perceive themselves to be under
- 36:02Speaker 9: threat and that's all that matters.
- 36:04Speaker 6: That is not legitimate.
- 36:06Speaker 4: That is wrong.
- 36:08Speaker 11: You hear the screens from the audience, people are terrified.
- 36:14Speaker 6: What the threat is not legitimate?
- 36:16Speaker 3: He was shot and there was another man who was murdered.
- 36:19Speaker 6: How can you say the threat is not legitimate? The
- 36:22Speaker 6: threat was right there in front of you.
- 36:24Speaker 5: And she's then attributing to screaming in the crowd as
- 36:26Speaker 5: though it's Donald Trump's fault.
- 36:28Speaker 6: No, he got shot, Like, how brain did can you be?
- 36:32Speaker 2: It just goes to show Trump derangement syndrome is a
- 36:34Speaker 2: real thing.
- 36:35Speaker 3: We're going to go to a break.
- 36:36Speaker 2: When we come back, we'll look at what's making news tomorrow,
- 36:39Speaker 2: including the Queensland MP who warns locals if they make
- 36:42Speaker 2: negative comments about him on social media, they're getting a
- 36:45Speaker 2: knock on the door that's coming up in a moment.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Welcome back.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Well, as you can imagine, Donald Trump is dominating tomorrow's headlines,
- 36:54Speaker 2: but there are some other stories in the papers tomorrow, Caleb,
- 36:56Speaker 2: what's the Australian got?
- 36:57Speaker 6: Thank god for that.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Otherwise we'd have to spend a whole talking about Donald Trump. Now,
- 37:01Speaker 5: actually we could do that, we could do it.
- 37:02Speaker 6: For five hours, but drawing rate, it's okay.
- 37:05Speaker 5: We do have some other yarns on the front of
- 37:07Speaker 5: the Odds tomorrow below mister Trump himself, it says Band
- 37:11Speaker 5: plan to usurp Alp on left God, I mean Adam
- 37:16Speaker 5: Man sadly the leader that Donald Trump is. It's an
- 37:20Speaker 5: insult to mister Trump that they have to share the
- 37:21Speaker 5: front page, says Adam. Band says the Greens have replaced
- 37:25Speaker 5: Labor as the authentic party of the center left and
- 37:28Speaker 5: will win over voters by taking a robin hood platform
- 37:31Speaker 5: to the election, soaking major corporations to fund better outcomes
- 37:36Speaker 5: in areas of traditional ALP strength. Hang on a minute
- 37:41Speaker 5: they reckon, they're going to be the authentic center left
- 37:45Speaker 5: party who's going to represent the fall left. Now, no,
- 37:50Speaker 5: we're just moving into alp territory. But again it simply
- 37:53Speaker 5: proves what we have known the Greens to be for
- 37:56Speaker 5: a long time is watermelons, green on the outside, read
- 37:59Speaker 5: on the in side. Because they've been asked that the
- 38:01Speaker 5: Australians doing a series of stories on the Greens policy
- 38:04Speaker 5: platform and what they would do if we have a.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Series.
- 38:09Speaker 4: This is it.
- 38:10Speaker 5: So they've asked mister Bant what his platform is going
- 38:13Speaker 5: to be if Labor ends up in minority government and
- 38:16Speaker 5: you know they potentially have to do a deal and
- 38:17Speaker 5: the Greens on the cross bench are providing their support.
- 38:20Speaker 5: What do you want out of the government, And mister
- 38:22Speaker 5: Band says, in broad terms, make big corporations pay more tax,
- 38:27Speaker 5: fund universal services.
- 38:28Speaker 6: So everyone can have a better life.
- 38:30Speaker 5: And dot dot dot stop opening coal and gas mines.
- 38:34Speaker 7: Now.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Once upon a time, that would be the first thing
- 38:37Speaker 5: the Greens would say, because they're called the Greens for
- 38:39Speaker 5: a reason, right they met with the Environmental Party, the
- 38:42Speaker 5: first thing they would say is stop the gas and
- 38:44Speaker 5: coal mines, not anymore. The first thing they talk about
- 38:48Speaker 5: is socialist economics, because they're not concerned about the green bit.
- 38:52Speaker 5: The green bit is just a vehicle to keep them going.
- 38:56Speaker 5: What they really want to do is a chief socialist.
- 38:58Speaker 2: But the other stupid thing is he wants to get
- 39:01Speaker 2: rid of coal and gas, but he's going to tax
- 39:03Speaker 2: all the billionaires. Where do the billionaires get their money from.
- 39:06Speaker 2: He wants to expand the social welfare net, but where
- 39:08Speaker 2: do we get the money to do that. It's from
- 39:10Speaker 2: coal and gas. So his plan doesn't work. He says,
- 39:13Speaker 2: we're going to have stronger policies. That means just we're
- 39:16Speaker 2: going to get to bankruptcy faster as a nation if
- 39:18Speaker 2: he ever gets his way.
- 39:20Speaker 1: And the fact that he's saying, no, no, we don't
- 39:23Speaker 1: want to form an alliance with Labor at the next
- 39:26Speaker 1: election if it comes to that, we don't want to
- 39:30Speaker 1: be given green seats in cabinets, so to speak. He's like, no, no, no,
- 39:34Speaker 1: we've turned that off and down. We are just going
- 39:37Speaker 1: to take more and more of your seats until we're
- 39:40Speaker 1: less of a minority party and you guys are on
- 39:44Speaker 1: the uter.
- 39:44Speaker 4: I think it's incredible. He's a very ambitious man.
- 39:47Speaker 1: To the front page of the Courier mail now.
- 39:49Speaker 4: NP visits the trolls. A Queensland MP.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Has confessed to using the electoral role to track down
- 39:57Speaker 1: and visit voters who make negative social media comments about him.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Labor MB for Rockampton.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Barri O'Rourke has said he did this as a bit
- 40:08Speaker 1: of karma and while it was a little bit stupid
- 40:12Speaker 1: his words, he could pay these people a visit as
- 40:15Speaker 1: he was a fairly big fella that's not threatening at all,
- 40:20Speaker 1: A rock that's not threatening at all, that's totally fine. Also,
- 40:24Speaker 1: how busy are you as an MP if you're so
- 40:27Speaker 1: obsessed with little comments.
- 40:29Speaker 4: That people are like, I've worked for three MP's.
- 40:31Speaker 1: By the way, it's not just you, buddy, they all
- 40:33Speaker 1: cap a heaper hate. But you're taking it so personally.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Your ego is so small and wounded that he's like,
- 40:42Speaker 1: look up their address, I'm gonna go knock it on
- 40:44Speaker 1: their door, and then go so far as to say
- 40:47Speaker 1: I'm a fairly big fella that is so ominous.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Rockampton is the only place in the country where when
- 40:53Speaker 2: there's a knock on the door, people say, do you
- 40:55Speaker 2: hope it's the Jehovah's Witnesses?
- 40:57Speaker 3: Rather than mister O'Rourke.
- 41:00Speaker 5: How can you be a public servant, a public official,
- 41:04Speaker 5: a politician like that and go around doing interviews saying
- 41:08Speaker 5: you say bad words about me? On, come on, get
- 41:11Speaker 5: you like, what did you think you were signing up for?
- 41:14Speaker 5: I mean, if I spent the last nine years of
- 41:18Speaker 5: my career. In fact, I need to talk about this
- 41:21Speaker 5: this morning. It's nine years this month since I joined
- 41:24Speaker 5: the News Court newspapers full time.
- 41:27Speaker 6: So you know, in my long and illustrious career, if
- 41:30Speaker 6: I had gone and tracked down every.
- 41:34Speaker 5: Single person who had sent me a rude tweet, a
- 41:37Speaker 5: rude email, a rude text message, every person I ever
- 41:42Speaker 5: wrote a story about who's had it in for me
- 41:44Speaker 5: ever since, if I'd spent all my time going around
- 41:46Speaker 5: knocking on their doors, I wouldn't have a job anymore
- 41:50Speaker 5: because I'd have nothing.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Else to do.
- 41:51Speaker 3: This is why I never gave you my address.
- 41:53Speaker 6: Car Hey, that's not true.
- 41:55Speaker 5: I've been around to your house and drunk all your beer,
- 41:57Speaker 5: which in takes for that.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Let's go to the front page of the cans Post.
- 42:02Speaker 2: The headline says murderer robbed two hundred and forty thousand
- 42:05Speaker 2: dollars from across Queensland killer's bank heist. But that's not
- 42:09Speaker 2: the most interesting part of this story. It reads that
- 42:12Speaker 2: a psychopathic killer who once murdered a man to take
- 42:15Speaker 2: over his identity, will be sentenced for a series of
- 42:19Speaker 2: robberies across Queensland, including in Port Douglas.
- 42:22Speaker 3: He'll be sentenced next week. Now.
- 42:24Speaker 2: The story reads how Alexander Robert McDonald seventy three years old,
- 42:29Speaker 2: he was wanted by police, but he also was trying
- 42:33Speaker 2: to launder money from bank robberies, so he had to
- 42:37Speaker 2: change identity.
- 42:38Speaker 3: He came up with a brilliant plan.
- 42:40Speaker 2: He placed an advertisement in the paper for a non
- 42:42Speaker 2: existent mining job, interviewed dozens of people who thought.
- 42:46Speaker 3: They were applying for a job.
- 42:48Speaker 2: But he was actually sizing them up to figure who
- 42:51Speaker 2: looks a bit like me, that I could murder them
- 42:53Speaker 2: and then assume their identity. So that is one job. Liz,
- 42:57Speaker 2: you would be thanking the good Lord.
- 42:59Speaker 1: You did not talk about dodging your bullet.
- 43:03Speaker 5: I think it explains why we still have an unemployment
- 43:06Speaker 5: rate in this country, doesn't it, Because I mean, I'd
- 43:08Speaker 5: be scared to go to a job.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Interview eighty eight.
- 43:11Speaker 5: I'd be sea, Well, what are you saying that people
- 43:13Speaker 5: don't murder people in twenty twenty four.
- 43:15Speaker 1: There's much easier ways to steal someone's identity now, with
- 43:18Speaker 1: technology what it is. Well eighty eight, I guess the
- 43:21Speaker 1: only way to do it was to make sure that
- 43:23Speaker 1: you would never appear again, because I was now you.
- 43:26Speaker 4: But there was only one way to ensure that.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Are you just vouching for digital ideas.
- 43:34Speaker 6: You heard here first.
- 43:36Speaker 1: On the Lovely A lot of people get their identities
- 43:40Speaker 1: stolen now by virtue of the use of social media.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I could start a page tomorrow being like, I'm James McPherson, digit.
- 43:48Speaker 3: I be less murders.
- 43:50Speaker 5: That's an idea. Let's go and start that Facebook page
- 43:54Speaker 5: I am James McPherson, and well you won't have a
- 43:57Speaker 5: job by tomorrow Night's and then I can finally move
- 44:00Speaker 5: into that middle seat there.
- 44:02Speaker 3: You never coming around to my house ever again.
- 44:07Speaker 5: Canberra times, I thought I'd been banned after I drunk
- 44:10Speaker 5: all the beer.
- 44:11Speaker 6: Let's go can each other.
- 44:14Speaker 3: We really do get on very well, we do.
- 44:16Speaker 4: We do it.
- 44:17Speaker 5: We're like a family here on the late Debate, I
- 44:19Speaker 5: have to say, because you know this is a family,
- 44:22Speaker 5: I can pick not the one I didn't get to pick.
- 44:25Speaker 5: My brother will be riding in now anyway he deserves it.
- 44:28Speaker 5: Let's go to the Canberra Times. Now, look, Donald Trump's
- 44:32Speaker 5: been having a bad time. Joe Biden on that front
- 44:34Speaker 5: page there has been having a bad time, or to
- 44:36Speaker 5: any who else has been having a bad time. That's
- 44:37Speaker 5: the c if emmy. You you would have seen the
- 44:39Speaker 5: reporting over the past few days, the infiltration allegedly of
- 44:43Speaker 5: for organized crime games, et cetera.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Well they've gone bagger that. Let's just go for gold.
- 44:48Speaker 5: It says here union should be handed greater power to
- 44:51Speaker 5: investigate and prosecute companies thought to be in breach of
- 44:54Speaker 5: an Act Procurement Code. The c if emmy, you believe
- 44:59Speaker 5: they're going to go to the the Act Labor Conference
- 45:02Speaker 5: annual conference and ask that they be appointed to oversee
- 45:08Speaker 5: senior public servants. The sea if MEU of all the
- 45:11Speaker 5: unions right now is like, yeah, I'm going to stick
- 45:13Speaker 5: my head above the parapet and to ask to be
- 45:15Speaker 5: put in charge of things.
- 45:17Speaker 2: They've taken on board that old adage the best form
- 45:19Speaker 2: of defense is offense, and they are playing hard.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Indeed, to a few mentions now the Herald Son it's
- 45:27Speaker 1: all about Trump.
- 45:28Speaker 4: The miracle man. I'm supposed to be dead. Trump declares
- 45:33Speaker 4: it's a miracle he's alive.
- 45:35Speaker 1: The Daily Telly same same Trump speaks. Ex President proclaimed
- 45:40Speaker 1: shooters near miss a miracle.
- 45:43Speaker 4: By god, I'm still here.
- 45:45Speaker 1: The TiSER, same photo. The doctor said he never saw
- 45:50Speaker 1: anything like it. He called it a miracle.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Thank god. He's still in the game, Still.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Sticking it to Deep State, Keep freaking out this establishment
- 46:00Speaker 1: because the man's still standing.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Touch not the Lord's anointed.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I say we're going to go to a break, but
- 46:06Speaker 2: when we come back, if you're thinking about visiting Barcelona,
- 46:08Speaker 2: you need to know the locals don't like tourists too much.
- 46:11Speaker 3: That's coming up with in just a moment.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Welcome back now, calib I've been to Barcelona, wonderful city,
- 46:19Speaker 2: had a great time there, but might not go there again.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Well, no, I don't blame you, as the locals would
- 46:25Speaker 5: call it Barthelon, but apparently they are so sick of
- 46:29Speaker 5: the tourists coming into their town to i don't know,
- 46:32Speaker 5: prop up the economy and provide jobs and actually make
- 46:36Speaker 5: the place interesting. No, they're so sick of them taken
- 46:39Speaker 5: over the joint that they're pulling out water pistols and
- 46:42Speaker 5: rolling up to know ol fresco dining at restaurants and
- 46:45Speaker 5: this sort of thing and shooting people in the face
- 46:48Speaker 5: with water because they're so sick of the.
- 46:51Speaker 6: Fact they're there.
- 46:51Speaker 5: I mean, you thought it was bad enough for Donald
- 46:53Speaker 5: Trump having his ears shot off. These tourists over in
- 46:57Speaker 5: Spain being shot as you can see there.
- 46:59Speaker 6: With order pistols because they don't want him there no more.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Here's one of the locals talking about, we want our
- 47:05Speaker 5: town back.
- 47:07Speaker 8: The last years the city house turned completely for a tourists,
- 47:10Speaker 8: and what we want is a city for citizens.
- 47:13Speaker 6: I'm not in serious of stories. I mean, that's amazing.
- 47:17Speaker 5: They're literally pulling up crimes tapes so they can't go.
- 47:21Speaker 6: And don't they know that tourists keep the economy at floats.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Take a leaf out of the book of the Parisians.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Just be so rude to all the tourists.
- 47:30Speaker 4: The tourists want to leave and get out of there.
- 47:33Speaker 1: To some hilarious headlines mocked up by the Babylon b
- 47:36Speaker 1: which is a satire basically self made news agency.
- 47:41Speaker 4: After the CNN put out headlines that.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Read secret service rushes Trump off stage, as he falls
- 47:48Speaker 1: at rally.
- 47:49Speaker 4: He wasn't falling, he ducked.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Another One of the CNN's headlines read Trump injured in
- 47:55Speaker 1: incident at rally.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Well, the Babylon Be thought that they'd join in the
- 47:59Speaker 4: fun since CNN is getting all.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Of it at the moment, so get up a few
- 48:04Speaker 1: quippy ones of their own. They read Lincoln nods off
- 48:08Speaker 1: at play. This is how they say the CNN reported
- 48:12Speaker 1: these famous assassinations.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Then there's Caesar injured in a group hug. It was
- 48:18Speaker 4: meant in love. It just went horribly wrong. JFK startled quite.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Loud popping noises, so startled he died, unfortunately, and last
- 48:29Speaker 1: but not least, move fast A slips during rock climbing
- 48:33Speaker 1: excursion from the famous The Lion King cartoon movie.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Of course, I just love this.
- 48:39Speaker 1: These guys keep taking the mick out of the mainstream
- 48:43Speaker 1: media and it's glorious.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Everyone loves it.
- 48:47Speaker 1: More people follow the Babylon b i'd say at this
- 48:49Speaker 1: stage than CNN itself.
- 48:51Speaker 5: I can't remember whether it was the Babylon Bee or
- 48:54Speaker 5: the Buttuda Advocate, but one of them I saw the
- 48:56Speaker 5: other day said that they would just start reporting Iden's
- 49:00Speaker 5: quotes verbatim, because that they literally could not do any.
- 49:03Speaker 6: Better and he could do.
- 49:06Speaker 5: And it is at a time like this, I'm so
- 49:09Speaker 5: glad that, even at a time when you've literally just
- 49:11Speaker 5: had a former president shot at that we can have
- 49:14Speaker 5: some fun with it, because, by god, if you couldn't
- 49:16Speaker 5: laugh at all this stuff, you'd cry.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Absolutely well, that's it from us, Thanks for joining us,
- 49:21Speaker 2: but stick around.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Coming up right now is The Reja Penehy Show.
