- 0:00Speaker 1: We are rolling. I can't roll my I can't do.
- 0:06Speaker 2: That, Raphael. It's like a gargle things I didn't know about.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Mike, I could go.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We had a lovely British feed last night.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We did courtesy of this nice gal.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, which had nothing to do with any wagers
- 0:35Speaker 1: or anything.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It was losing. It was just stuff.
- 0:38Speaker 1: You just being generous and it was very nice.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I got the drinks, you got the food. I did,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and our producer cashed in.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yes he did, bast.
- 0:49Speaker 1: In the Glory.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we owed him dinner because he's such a great producer.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yes, and I think we make it a tradition now.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So for the Wimbledon, obviously we got a British pub.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Oh yes, that's a good idea.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah. And then for the American we got for barbecue,
- 1:12Speaker 1: oh love. And then for the French a nice French pistro.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And for Australia, I don't know a bit of Vietnamese. Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 2: let's go get a Chinese. Let's get a Chinese.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I'll wash it down with a beer.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah that sounds good.
- 1:27Speaker 1: We could get a Chico roll from a servo Chico Chico.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Am I saying it wrong?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:36Speaker 1: I say Chico, what is quintessential Australian Fair few episodes ago,
- 1:45Speaker 1: you said Toast and Jack Daniels, I haven't stopped thinking
- 1:49Speaker 1: about reallymment. It sounds like if depression were a meal.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, sounds like the vos.
- 2:03Speaker 1: All right, Wimbledon is over, and then to I mean,
- 2:07Speaker 1: we have to do this. The people are yelling out.
- 2:10Speaker 1: They're champing or chomping.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Chumping, champing, chumping champion. Oh, I get it.
- 2:16Speaker 1: It's a big discussion. Are we champing or are we chomping?
- 2:22Speaker 1: What is it?
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's jumping, but it's spelled champing. I thought chumping at
- 2:28Speaker 2: the bitman.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's champing.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Oh, it's a horst thing.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Horses champ spell champs.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I did not know this. I believe it.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So the Wimbledon champions are center. We'll get that all
- 2:50Speaker 1: that in a second, because first the people are are
- 2:54Speaker 1: yelling out for their favorite segment at the top of
- 2:56Speaker 1: the show, which is the Slam Poetry Slam.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Wimbledon wimbled over soon as the winner and Linda Noskova
- 3:15Speaker 4: strawberries and pans as far as the eye can see,
- 3:18Speaker 4: and for some unknown reason we got plig isn't it
- 3:24Speaker 4: inside the World Cup something cool.
- 3:29Speaker 1: What a tournament I was. I was so happy with
- 3:33Speaker 1: this couple of weeks at tennis, and it was a
- 3:36Speaker 1: killer tournament. Plenty of drama in the first week and
- 3:39Speaker 1: then the second week the quarterfinals were just kicking off
- 3:44Speaker 1: when we last did a pod. So I'll do a
- 3:48Speaker 1: quick wrap up from the quarterfinals onwards. Zverev over Fritz
- 3:53Speaker 1: and Straits. Had been a while since Verev had beat Fritz. Yes,
- 3:57Speaker 1: Fritz is saying he had jankin drink.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, So Fritz went out and I mean he said
- 4:08Speaker 1: he's going to recover for the hardcourt swing in the US.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Arthur Fairy continued his how many times have we heard
- 4:15Speaker 1: the joke fairy tale in.
- 4:16Speaker 2: The fairy tale? Yeah?
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, even did it on court because I didn't
- 4:21Speaker 1: realize he was playing fairy. Next he goes, it's a
- 4:23Speaker 1: real fairy tale. See what I did there? Oh yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I was like, you are not the first to do it.
- 4:30Speaker 1: It's you know, you are a hack. That was okay,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I guess. Arthur Fairy continued with a straight sets win
- 4:40Speaker 1: over Koboli.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I know, and he beat Koboli here, yeah, open, that
- 4:45Speaker 2: was the time.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Was sick. He's always he's always sick, he's always got
- 4:49Speaker 1: to talk.
- 4:50Speaker 2: He does, so I wonder if he had it well,
- 4:52Speaker 2: I don't know. It just looked pretty convincing. I think
- 4:54Speaker 2: it was the crowd. I think it was the crowd,
- 4:56Speaker 2: because the fairy was like the British crowd was just
- 5:00Speaker 2: loving him.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah, And then you have to think also Kobali obviously
- 5:04Speaker 1: made it to the finals of the French and then
- 5:07Speaker 1: this deep into Wimbledon. I think he was just cooked
- 5:11Speaker 1: at a certain point and then, like we said, he's
- 5:13Speaker 1: had a sore Kabelli and I almost on my pants.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And the match of kabelliegk and the match of the
- 5:25Speaker 1: tournament for me was in the corner finals, which was
- 5:28Speaker 1: Djokovic versus Felix.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Oh what aka?
- 5:32Speaker 1: This was amazing A thirty nine year old versus a
- 5:35Speaker 1: twenty five year old much like my marriage. She's pretty young,
- 5:45Speaker 1: but yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that, no, but she's eighteen.
- 5:51Speaker 1: This was the longest ever Wimbledon quarterfinal and it had
- 5:55Speaker 1: all the drama, all Djokovic was they were both playing
- 5:58Speaker 1: out of their mind. Was amazing, and it was one
- 6:03Speaker 1: to five obviously, and it was to me the most
- 6:08Speaker 1: memorable match and most fun and compelling of the tournament.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I agree, yeah, yeah, even though well there was that
- 6:16Speaker 1: Golf Pagola three setter in that round. And then even
- 6:20Speaker 1: more crazier I thought, was Goff and Mooch in the Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 1: the Golf Coca Goff and Carolina Mukoba the Mooch. We
- 6:31Speaker 1: love the movie. The level. They weren't both playing great
- 6:35Speaker 1: at the same time as each other until the third set,
- 6:38Speaker 1: so that's why it's I wouldn't put it up as
- 6:41Speaker 1: match of the tournament, but that tie break for the match,
- 6:45Speaker 1: insane was the craziest tennis in terms of the decision
- 6:50Speaker 1: making was questionable. Yeah, will you tighten up? Of course,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and when Golf had match point and then just ditches
- 6:57Speaker 1: of the easiest forehand volley, I mean it's easy for
- 7:01Speaker 1: me to say, but into the net and just had
- 7:04Speaker 1: the whole court could have pushed Mooch into a corner,
- 7:07Speaker 1: come in, put it away, but goes for the drop shot,
- 7:11Speaker 1: hits like the bottom of the net, and that is
- 7:14Speaker 1: one of those shots that surely on her deathbed she'll like, Yeah,
- 7:21Speaker 1: that'll haunt you forever. I mean, because that point, if
- 7:25Speaker 1: she converts that point, then she's into the final, right,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and this is the deepest she's ever gone in Wimbledon,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and it's just like it's a hard watch. And she
- 7:34Speaker 1: being as having the fortitude that Cocoa Goff has, she
- 7:39Speaker 1: was like, yeah, you know, this happens to players. You know,
- 7:42Speaker 1: Sinner had how many match points in the final against
- 7:45Speaker 1: Alcarez at the French last year. It's just something they
- 7:49Speaker 1: all go through. And she was able to kind of
- 7:50Speaker 1: like just be totally rational about it. Yeah, if that
- 7:55Speaker 1: happened to me again, I'd move to Antarctica and never
- 7:59Speaker 1: talk to anybody ever again.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I'm definitely gonna think about the last point or I
- 8:05Speaker 2: don't even know second and third, last whatever, wait for
- 8:08Speaker 2: a while.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So that tie break, if you watch anything, watch that
- 8:11Speaker 1: tie break again because that was crazy. And the other
- 8:14Speaker 1: semi final on the women's Caustic went out to Naskova
- 8:18Speaker 1: in the Straits, setting up the all Czech final. I
- 8:26Speaker 1: look this up. I maybe this is common knowledge, but
- 8:29Speaker 1: I was like, why is there so many Ova names
- 8:32Speaker 1: in Russian and Czech players? And do you know the reason?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Ova means women?
- 8:38Speaker 3: Oh?
- 8:38Speaker 1: Right, okay, so if it's Ov, it's a son of
- 8:42Speaker 1: But if it's Ova, it's daughter of right.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So yeah, so a little Russian language, yeah, lesson Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So like say, well he's Bulgarian, but Dimitrov son of
- 8:54Speaker 1: but if he was a woman, Demitrova little, we're learning things.
- 9:02Speaker 2: This is good poetry. So you'd be hoo hoo yeah
- 9:08Speaker 2: son of who daughter daughter? Oh god?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. Djokovic Sinner in the semi final. I seem
- 9:26Speaker 1: to remember because I brought it up multiple times in
- 9:28Speaker 1: the group chat that I said Djokovic will be to
- 9:32Speaker 1: five sets.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I believe you kept saying I'm a genius, I am
- 9:35Speaker 2: a genius. Caps look, I am a genius.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and then I just shortened it to I am genius.
- 9:43Speaker 1: The I said he'll be pushed a five by Felix
- 9:46Speaker 1: Aliasim in the quarterfinals and then he'll be cooked in
- 9:50Speaker 1: his semi final against Sinner. I was right, Yes, I
- 9:54Speaker 1: am genius.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I am genius. I wonder what he does for his recovery.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Well, he had two days, so this was the point
- 10:02Speaker 1: of the tournament where you get two days off before
- 10:05Speaker 1: your next match. And look, I think it's not all
- 10:08Speaker 1: attributed to playing that insane five hour, fifteen minute quarterfinal.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I think Sinner finally looked like the sinner that was
- 10:16Speaker 1: winning all those Masters one thousands in a row. Yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 1: he was finally found his form that he had going
- 10:21Speaker 1: into the French and he just absolutely outplayed Djokovic. And
- 10:27Speaker 1: I think Djokovic had one break point but couldn't convert
- 10:30Speaker 1: and it was, yeah, just a straight sets loss, which
- 10:35Speaker 1: I think a lot of people wanted to see Djokovic
- 10:37Speaker 1: go for twenty five.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You include, yeah, yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But couldn't get there, couldn't get through him. And I
- 10:44Speaker 1: had agacy. He was announcing that match and every time
- 10:49Speaker 1: he said Yannick, he would say yunique and I was like,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I was like, what is that?
- 10:54Speaker 2: It's a unique Yannick?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a Yo Ni Nick. Sounds like she's on
- 11:00Speaker 1: Jerry Springer. Yeah she doesn't.
- 11:03Speaker 2: She just cheated on Yeah yeah, yeah, And now we're
- 11:06Speaker 2: going to bring out Yo Nick.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Yo Nic, don't play that so Yo Nique center
- 11:14Speaker 1: getting through that one, and Djokovic you could kind of
- 11:16Speaker 1: tell he conceded defeat. Obviously, he's the ultimate competitor and
- 11:23Speaker 1: we'll fight to the end, But like he just didn't
- 11:25Speaker 1: seem totally locked in when he was making jokes, Like
- 11:29Speaker 1: after rallies, there was one rally where Cinner comes out
- 11:32Speaker 1: on top and Djokovic says loud enough for the crowd
- 11:35Speaker 1: to hear, like maybe ten years ago. Oh and then yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know, it gets kind of a laugh. But then
- 11:41Speaker 1: it's like, oh, he's not in lockdown, just so I'm
- 11:44Speaker 1: gonna do everything it takes to win.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Yeah, mode, Everyone says you're the best returns ever been.
- 11:49Speaker 3: He hit, he tried was.
- 11:55Speaker 5: There was also an exchange where at the where someone
- 11:58Speaker 5: you said to I think some of the out maybe
- 12:01Speaker 5: ten years ago, may so, can you talk about what
- 12:03Speaker 5: he said to you and how he tried to stay
- 12:05Speaker 5: between us.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I think I think he's giving credit where credits due.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I think he's like respecting.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's always been very gracious in defeat and
- 12:15Speaker 1: like shown yeah, that respect to the opposing player. And
- 12:19Speaker 1: I mean sinners in his prime obviously twenty four years
- 12:23Speaker 1: old and is doing Djokovician things out there, like the defense,
- 12:28Speaker 1: the sliding into backhands, the recovering from it, like the
- 12:31Speaker 1: rubber band body flexibility. It's just like it's him seemingly
- 12:37Speaker 1: coming to terms with age. Yeah right, well, yeah, and
- 12:43Speaker 1: I think.
- 12:43Speaker 2: We've all been that job.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, I mean I'm still wearing backwards
- 12:48Speaker 1: hats and headbands.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I just noticed you're wearing this. What is this about.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It's tennis. That's tennis. That should be the name of
- 13:03Speaker 1: the show.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It is tennis.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Yeah, well I think it is. And then Djokovic accepting
- 13:10Speaker 1: that his dominance over the tour for so many years,
- 13:14Speaker 1: much like a female in Russia or Czech is Ova.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Oh, but he's still making semi finals.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I know he was in the final of the oz Open,
- 13:32Speaker 1: he had that. I mean in the French he went
- 13:33Speaker 1: out to Fonseka in a five side epic. Yeah, he's
- 13:39Speaker 1: not over, and I think he has set his sights
- 13:42Speaker 1: on the next Summer Olympics.
- 13:44Speaker 2: So twenty eight. I saw that with Sebbian flat.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah. So if he's playing through to twenty twenty eight,
- 13:50Speaker 1: then we got another two years. Yeah, but can you
- 13:52Speaker 1: be bothered. I just feel like after that long on tour,
- 13:57Speaker 1: the physical regime, all the hard work that goes into it,
- 14:01Speaker 1: surely at some point you're just like, I just want
- 14:03Speaker 1: to rest on my billions of dollars. Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Nobody's kids are in the box. It's
- 14:09Speaker 2: a family affair. Yeah, Yeah, everyone's hanging out. Yeah, he
- 14:13Speaker 2: gets like another X amount of dollars appearance fee plus
- 14:18Speaker 2: semifinal fee.
- 14:20Speaker 1: When is it enough? Lizzy? Who?
- 14:22Speaker 2: Well, I would I would have tapped out years ago.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Parted it totally, Yeah, Like how much do you want?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah? Once, yeah, you went a couple of slams. You're like, oh,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, But that's why he's the wolf.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Here's the wolf.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Oh you know what I think it is. He's got
- 14:39Speaker 2: a documentary.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Obviously, how are they not calling that the documentary?
- 14:43Speaker 2: He's got a jocumentary. Beautiful right, stuff, He's got a
- 14:48Speaker 2: jocumentary and the ending is him getting the twenty fifth
- 14:51Speaker 2: slam and he just won't quit, right, he wants the
- 14:55Speaker 2: perfect ending.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Well, you can have cameras follow you around for as
- 14:59Speaker 1: long as you can, obviously, but I mean, if it's
- 15:02Speaker 1: not happening, it's not happening. Because the Rafa documentary on Netflix.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Then I saw an interview with the guys who made
- 15:08Speaker 1: it and they're like, yeah, we just started filming and
- 15:10Speaker 1: we didn't know what was going to happen. And then
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know, he gets knocked out first round of the
- 15:14Speaker 1: Fringe and it's kind of a tough dog to watch
- 15:18Speaker 1: because it's a fading champion. Yeah, but also it rules.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's great. There's a moment with Djokovic and is not Jokovic.
- 15:25Speaker 1: There's a moment with the doll and his wife where
- 15:27Speaker 1: they're eating dessert at a restaurant and he's like so
- 15:31Speaker 1: sweet and romantic and it's like a side you just
- 15:34Speaker 1: would never expect to see.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cute.
- 15:39Speaker 1: He said to meet you want perfect right now? Oh
- 15:42Speaker 1: perfect in a few years. Not so perfect, I don't know. No,
- 15:48Speaker 1: you want better better, good, you look very good dessert.
- 15:52Speaker 1: The other semi final was, of course at Zvere versus
- 15:55Speaker 1: Arthur Fairy.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Oh this was visually very funny.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, them at the net standing here. Yeah, photos.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean, Fairy's tiny, he's strong and stucky, but he's
- 16:08Speaker 2: he's like a shorter he's a shorter guy.
- 16:10Speaker 1: He's nuggeting, is huge, he's a longman.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and just even looking at I don't know, this
- 16:15Speaker 2: was like anytime zeb set up to serve. It was
- 16:19Speaker 2: just just like he was looking at Fairy going like
- 16:21Speaker 2: why are you here? I felt like, who is this guy?
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a bit of that, and there's.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Just like a stature about him. It just felt dominant.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It did, at least the first set was competitive. It was,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and I think it was Verev obviously hadn't played it before,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and it was him figuring out this kind of like
- 16:40Speaker 1: crafty variety of game because he just played Fritz, who was,
- 16:43Speaker 1: you know, just slamming serves down and playing baseline tennis.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But then fairies just darting around the court slicing. And
- 16:51Speaker 1: then but then once Zverev got used to that, the
- 16:55Speaker 1: next two sets he was just swatting fairies ball away
- 16:59Speaker 1: and just like thundering returns back and it looked like
- 17:04Speaker 1: a first round match or like a dad playing his son.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it was very like welcome to the big league.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, he made it to the semi final.
- 17:15Speaker 2: He can't take that away from him.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It is so well and he's the new British number one.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah cool.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 2: How many places did he jump? I want to say
- 17:24Speaker 2: it was like one hundred and something, one.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Hundred and forty ish and now he's thirty ish yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, crazy.
- 17:32Speaker 1: So that'll be interesting. We'll see if his game converts
- 17:35Speaker 1: to the hard courts, bringing us to the final all
- 17:46Speaker 1: check final. I have to be honest, I didn't watch
- 17:49Speaker 1: a single Noskova match until the final that she played.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I just was like, I mean, I remember when she
- 17:57Speaker 1: came to my attention a couple of years ago when
- 17:59Speaker 1: she beat Ego shawontek here at the Australian Open, and
- 18:03Speaker 1: then yeah, I just hadn't be when we were talking
- 18:07Speaker 1: about the semi finally wash and then the last one
- 18:11Speaker 1: on Osco of Mertens, who cares? I think the quarter
- 18:17Speaker 1: between her and Mertens. I was like, oh, yeah, I
- 18:21Speaker 1: skipped that, but I mean I shouldn't have because I
- 18:24Speaker 1: am a Noscova fan.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Now, oh noskov the line thank you.
- 18:33Speaker 1: This was the mooch versus.
- 18:35Speaker 2: The nast because we're such mooch fans, were moochheads, and
- 18:39Speaker 2: I feel like everyone's a moodhead. Yeah, the mooches were.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Out, the mooches were out.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we wanted the mooch to win.
- 18:47Speaker 1: The Mucherinos, the Mucherinos, the mood Jets, the mood Jetts.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I think it's nice, Okay, I feel like everyone wanted
- 18:53Speaker 2: the mooch to win.
- 18:54Speaker 1: The mooch being twenty nine and being plagued with injuries
- 18:58Speaker 1: over her career has a lot of yeah people love her.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Any fan of the game is like just loves watching
- 19:05Speaker 1: her glide around the court. She sold light on her feet,
- 19:10Speaker 1: great variety, awesome, you know, drop shots, slice everything, and
- 19:15Speaker 1: this was nascova power versus Mukova's finesse yes. But Nascova
- 19:23Speaker 1: also showed a lot of crafty drop shots and grass
- 19:27Speaker 1: court game. And crazily, this is the ninth consecutive Wimbledon
- 19:32Speaker 1: with the first time women's champion.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy, right, Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 1: There has That's just amazing to me that something about
- 19:40Speaker 1: grass court or I don't know what it is, but
- 19:43Speaker 1: it's just like there's no one consistently winning since I
- 19:46Speaker 1: guess Serena. I mean, I know Kovidova won it twice.
- 19:50Speaker 1: But the mucha story, the fact that she was out
- 19:52Speaker 1: in the first round of Wimbledon the last four years
- 19:55Speaker 1: and then is now in the final. It's great. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: she'd been to a Grand Slampo.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Because they'd both one going into.
- 20:01Speaker 1: This, right, Yeahscova had won in Berlin and the Mooch
- 20:06Speaker 1: one bad Homburg. Yeah, so they had grass court winds
- 20:10Speaker 1: going in great form. This seemed to be a blowout.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be over in like
- 20:17Speaker 1: an hour came out with like seemingly noiring firing. Yeah, easy, yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 1: just Muchova was thea we color the mooch, but it
- 20:31Speaker 1: is Muka, but we love the move the moo is.
- 20:34Speaker 1: We are moochets.
- 20:36Speaker 2: We are what's another moochmucerinos.
- 20:40Speaker 1: We have life. The mooch seemed to be the nervous one,
- 20:50Speaker 1: seemed to be the tight one, not playing her game
- 20:53Speaker 1: that she had played pretty much all tournament, was just
- 20:57Speaker 1: ripping the ball, and then at six two, five two,
- 21:00Speaker 1: a ton of championship points one on her serve where
- 21:05Speaker 1: she double faulted. Yeah, if I did that, I'd moved
- 21:09Speaker 1: to Antarctica.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Another move.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the end of your documentary. Just cut to Antarctica.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And somehow lost that set from six to five to up.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah, lost the next five games. And this is when
- 21:29Speaker 1: I went from wanting mood to win to being like I,
- 21:33Speaker 1: it's so painful to have five championship points not convert,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and like she.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Was, she was, Oh yeah, the reset was crazy.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 2: The reset was closing the ears, blocking out all the noise,
- 21:44Speaker 2: towel over the head. She left the court, came back
- 21:48Speaker 2: and then walked in.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that first game back. She faced a few break
- 21:54Speaker 1: points and I was like, here we go, it's just
- 21:55Speaker 1: slipping away and she's in a tailspin. But then somehow
- 21:59Speaker 1: held that aim and then looked like she did in
- 22:01Speaker 1: the first set at twenty one years old. Like again,
- 22:06Speaker 1: the mental fortitude that these players have is so baffling
- 22:09Speaker 1: to me.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Turn around.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, if I stubbed my toe in the morning, like
- 22:13Speaker 1: I don't leave that.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Bad day, bad day. Yeah, I moved that dark week. Yeah.
- 22:19Speaker 2: She yeah, totally turned it around. I don't wonder what
- 22:22Speaker 2: she said to herself.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Well, there was some interview where she said she obviously
- 22:27Speaker 1: took a break after the second set and went to
- 22:31Speaker 1: the female locker room and they have the trophy back
- 22:34Speaker 1: in that area somewhere, and she just like was steely, resolved,
- 22:38Speaker 1: stared at the trophy.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Whoaeah, okay, pretty cool. That is cool. No great scene
- 22:43Speaker 2: in a documentary. Yeah, I hope cameras.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It is real main character energy. Yeah, who do you
- 22:49Speaker 1: think you are? Linda and Osky.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'm just gonna go look at the trophy, ye to mine.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I'll be back.
- 22:57Speaker 1: So the Mooch just was kind of outplayed again in
- 23:01Speaker 1: that third set, and Oscova somehow recovered one in three
- 23:06Speaker 1: and it was amazing. It was a killer match when
- 23:08Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be a blowout.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was nice to see both check players
- 23:12Speaker 2: former doubles partners, so I guess they knew a lot
- 23:15Speaker 2: about each other. And then the mooch was funny.
- 23:19Speaker 1: The speech, great comic timing, great comic was a joke.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It was she said, oh, my former friend. I'd like
- 23:26Speaker 2: to think, yeah, my ex friend.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And then she was like just kidding but not really
- 23:30Speaker 1: or something.
- 23:32Speaker 2: It was great.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And so Nascova again like that turnaround and coming back
- 23:37Speaker 1: from five championship points slipped away amazing. And she's a
- 23:42Speaker 1: little punk rock Did you notice this? Yeah, yeah, she's
- 23:46Speaker 1: got that septum piercing. She's wearing like a big chain.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, I like both their vibes.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Yeah, check players are cool.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yeah they are. I like the mooches. The Mooch's outfit
- 23:57Speaker 2: was my favorite of the tournament, all right. That I
- 24:00Speaker 2: was like, I would wear that that shit right, just
- 24:03Speaker 2: it was just like a loose kind of fitting tea,
- 24:06Speaker 2: Like she just looked a bit eighties.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, there was an eighties vibe there. Costa got
- 24:11Speaker 1: a lot of praise for her.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, she did have a cool outfit. Wouldn't wear it,
- 24:16Speaker 2: wouldn't wear it? No, I don't have the confidence.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I believe in you. I'll wear it if it'll make
- 24:23Speaker 1: you feel good. So yeah, I'm an osco of a
- 24:29Speaker 1: fan for life. I will follow. What a turnaround, Pa,
- 24:34Speaker 1: youngest Wimbledon champ since twenty eleven.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 24:38Speaker 1: And then okay, let's get to the men's spinner spinner, spinner,
- 24:42Speaker 1: spinner and Zarev. No, let's get to the men's sinner
- 24:47Speaker 1: and Zverev. This is the number one and the number
- 24:50Speaker 1: two seeds, and they looked it. Yeah, I love this match.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I thought it was both of them. Yeah, I think
- 24:59Speaker 1: very of the best he's ever played against Cinner. I
- 25:05Speaker 1: think maybe in general. Came out and was like, I'm
- 25:10Speaker 1: just gonna rip my forehand as hard as I can
- 25:12Speaker 1: and see if he can deal with it. And it
- 25:14Speaker 1: just ended up in a tie break in the first set,
- 25:17Speaker 1: and Zverev won on a forehand winner. Yeah, won that
- 25:21Speaker 1: first set. His reaction was huge, Yeah, because it obviously
- 25:24Speaker 1: means a ton.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I think, well, it was the first set he'd won
- 25:27Speaker 2: against Center in a long time.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think in fifteen previous attempts. It's first set, yeah,
- 25:35Speaker 1: which is like, yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 2: This is mentally great, huge and.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Winning the first set, and then you know it was, uh,
- 25:42Speaker 1: it was like, well we got a match on and
- 25:44Speaker 1: this is great. Yeah, because Cinner had beat him what
- 25:47Speaker 1: ten times in a row or nine times in a
- 25:49Speaker 1: row going in? Was this number ten or was this
- 25:53Speaker 1: this is number ten in a row, and so someone's
- 25:56Speaker 1: beat you nine times in a row. You know, there's
- 25:57Speaker 1: that classic quote, no one beats Alexanders ten times, but
- 26:02Speaker 1: they did, and it was Cinner, And yeah, I think
- 26:07Speaker 1: the second set again obviously crazy competitive. It went to
- 26:13Speaker 1: a tie break again, but Center played a flawless If
- 26:18Speaker 1: that one lob had landed in, it would have been
- 26:20Speaker 1: like the ultimate tie break play because I think there
- 26:24Speaker 1: was just one of Zavera's serves. Both guys serving out
- 26:26Speaker 1: of their mind. Yeah, and they're huge serves. There's been
- 26:30Speaker 1: a lot of comparisons to this and the like Sampras
- 26:34Speaker 1: Era God's just bombing down serves leads to a tie
- 26:38Speaker 1: break and when guy barely edges the other out, which
- 26:41Speaker 1: can be kind of boring and routine. But I thought
- 26:44Speaker 1: this match was just utterly compelling from the start. This
- 26:48Speaker 1: is heartbreaking. Zaverev's one break opportunity in the third set,
- 26:52Speaker 1: so they're both they'd both taken a set. In the
- 26:55Speaker 1: third set, Zaverev has a break point and Sinner saves
- 27:00Speaker 1: it by hitting a drop shot. Zverev slips and hyper
- 27:04Speaker 1: extends his knee. Yeah, and Zverev, it could be argued
- 27:09Speaker 1: we're not the same after that.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you could tell. Yeah, I was watching his knee.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You could tell he was being a little bit ginger.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, which is wild. I mean it's because Verev.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Doesn't like to admit to his injuries, right, Yeah, he
- 27:24Speaker 2: never says anything about it.
- 27:26Speaker 1: He's a bit kg. Yeah, right, but.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I reckon it was like a little bit after that,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I think.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And also there's gotta be some trauma with zverev An injuries.
- 27:36Speaker 1: When he snapped his ankle playing the Doll at the
- 27:38Speaker 1: French a few years ago, one of the most gruesome
- 27:41Speaker 1: injuries on a tennis court, and then he was out
- 27:43Speaker 1: for what eight months after that because tendons had snapped
- 27:47Speaker 1: and everything. And it's like then if you have any
- 27:50Speaker 1: kind of fall that jars or you know, it's hyper
- 27:53Speaker 1: extends or like surely that's there's a memory of that,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and then you're in the final of Wimbledon. It's yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 1: it did not seem to be the same match after
- 28:04Speaker 1: that slip, and then because then Sinner holds and then
- 28:08Speaker 1: he takes that set, and then yeah, it was Sinner's
- 28:12Speaker 1: match from there too, too good.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was nice to see Siner back.
- 28:16Speaker 1: People have Sinner's celebration at least with this, he like
- 28:20Speaker 1: fell down on the court and there was some you know,
- 28:23Speaker 1: effusive celebrating, which is good to see from him because
- 28:27Speaker 1: like during the match they've said he's a little too reserved.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I mean, I don't have a problem with it.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with that. Yeah, because it's
- 28:33Speaker 2: just his way of like locking in. I think he
- 28:36Speaker 2: doesn't want to get too carried away. He's like, I
- 28:38Speaker 2: haven't done it.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yet, yeah, because he just that Yeah is that enough?
- 28:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the Alexy alo one I think is
- 28:47Speaker 2: the best she gets.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, at least no one's doing that.
- 28:53Speaker 2: The light and well we got cruise coming through.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Oh I haven't seen does he celebrate?
- 28:59Speaker 2: Has come on?
- 29:00Speaker 1: Okay?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he doesn't come on, right, but he's not. I
- 29:05Speaker 2: don't think he's doing that.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so Zverev is now number two in the world. Yes,
- 29:11Speaker 1: I would like your thoughts on Alcaaz. How where is he? Yeah?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Is he coming back?
- 29:21Speaker 1: The tour misses him, it does.
- 29:24Speaker 2: It missed his personality, They miss his tennis. Please Alcarez
- 29:29Speaker 2: come back soon.
- 29:30Speaker 1: So Alchoraz has pulled out of the Canadian Masters in Montreal,
- 29:34Speaker 1: but then he'll probably pull out of Cincinnati. A shame.
- 29:37Speaker 1: One of the best matches the last few years was
- 29:39Speaker 1: him and Djokovic and Cincinnati. The wrist is tricky, tricky.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I mean, if you look at Dominic TM, we don't
- 29:48Speaker 1: want that. If you look at del Potro, they were
- 29:51Speaker 1: never the same. And it's like, if he does come back,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I think a lot of people assume, oh, it'll just
- 29:58Speaker 1: be him in center battling it out, and I mean
- 30:02Speaker 1: this is grim to think about. But maybe he's just
- 30:04Speaker 1: he just isn't mentally the same or you know, like
- 30:09Speaker 1: obviously we need him back on the tour. We miss
- 30:12Speaker 1: him like just sinners. I feel like just going to
- 30:14Speaker 1: dominate until he's back. Yeah, So get well soon.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Please, Alcoraz.
- 30:21Speaker 3: We need you.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I'm sure he's getting the best help he can get.
- 30:27Speaker 1: So the dance. Did you see the dance?
- 30:31Speaker 2: I did see the dance, and this is tradition. Well
- 30:35Speaker 2: it was tradition. Then it stopped and then yeah, Djokovic
- 30:39Speaker 2: and Serena bought it back.
- 30:41Speaker 1: In twenty fifteen. It had stopped so long ago, nineteen
- 30:46Speaker 1: seventy seven and then twenty fifteen, and now it's back. Yeah,
- 30:50Speaker 1: it's Do you like it?
- 30:51Speaker 2: No? I don't like it at all. I think it's
- 30:57Speaker 2: awkward and we and it's like, oh, I guess how
- 31:02Speaker 2: are you going to celebrate? I guess we're going to
- 31:04Speaker 2: dance and then they do some it'd be cool if
- 31:07Speaker 2: they got together beforehand and like you know those weddings
- 31:11Speaker 2: where the first dance their choreograph. If singer and Oscova
- 31:15Speaker 2: got together and did like some really sick hip hop
- 31:19Speaker 2: did yeah, and then they just go out there and
- 31:22Speaker 2: then they'd start it in an awkward ballroom and then
- 31:25Speaker 2: be like track change, boom, and then.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I love it.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Yeah, there's I mean, so convinced that they're going to
- 31:36Speaker 1: win that they have time to choreograph some kind of
- 31:41Speaker 1: crunk hip hop.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I did in a fun way.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It would be fun. It would be fun and I
- 31:49Speaker 1: mean it is awkward. It's strikes of old British men
- 31:54Speaker 1: being like, no, you shall dance for.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Us, dance with the lady, make the spin the lady
- 32:01Speaker 2: around for petto yeah, bridge name.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Henry Wadsworth longfellow, the third Man's that you dance.
- 32:15Speaker 3: With the lady.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Now, dance with lady, yes, naked dice, ye spin her
- 32:21Speaker 2: before Yes, I don't want to dance with this creep.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it is good. I remember shavan Text
- 32:30Speaker 1: and Sinners from last year because they're both kind of
- 32:32Speaker 1: awkward and a little yeah, but it's like it's it's sweet.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I mean they've just won a grandson who can't.
- 32:39Speaker 1: But I think there's a lot of tennis players that
- 32:40Speaker 1: are introverts. Yeah, yeah, but I mean it makes sense
- 32:43Speaker 1: for Jokovic and Serena.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah they're fun.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but then it's like shy introverts who are just
- 32:50Speaker 1: tennis brained, just.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Like a twelve and then that awkward like handover the
- 32:57Speaker 2: head thing black event. I think no Oscov is fun.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, she's seemingly got better moves than yo, nick yo nick.
- 33:08Speaker 2: It needs to be a little bit more.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Gives her a little twirl and I just picture off
- 33:13Speaker 1: camera all.
- 33:13Speaker 2: The other and he's like and it's over.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, thank god that all these old British men
- 33:18Speaker 1: are off camera going no couldress her dec letage. Make
- 33:27Speaker 1: sure to smile?
- 33:29Speaker 2: What about a fox Trots?
- 33:33Speaker 3: Ah?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah. So that was Wimbledon twenty twenty six. I absolutely
- 33:40Speaker 1: loved it. Great tournaments, great tournament, and I look forward
- 33:45Speaker 1: to next year. But now the US.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Will oh see US Open.
- 33:49Speaker 1: One more thing about the Wimbledon Championships is that you
- 33:54Speaker 1: touched on it before Cruz Hewitt was in the final.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and he lost to a sixteen year old
- 34:00Speaker 1: American Jordan Lee. But Cruz getting to the final, yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 1: huge effort. Yeah yeah, And I think now he's too
- 34:08Speaker 1: young to play in the juniors, so he'll be too
- 34:10Speaker 1: old to Sorry, he's too old to play the juniors,
- 34:13Speaker 1: so he'll be graduating to the big boys.
- 34:18Speaker 2: So do you think we'll see him? I hope you
- 34:20Speaker 2: get to see him at the Open next year and.
- 34:22Speaker 1: The yeah, yeah, it'll be interesting.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Okay for.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Request, I'm ready to dance? Are you ready for approaching
- 34:39Speaker 2: the net?
- 34:44Speaker 1: Lady must dance more centrally.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Some pretty crazy stuff obviously out of Wimbledon. Love Andre
- 34:55Speaker 2: Agacy in the commentary box. He doesn't want to. He's propicable,
- 34:59Speaker 2: but he doesn't want to about it.
- 35:00Speaker 1: He had no protection on the head at all. I'm
- 35:03Speaker 1: glad you guys are speaking up to your pickleber exploits
- 35:07Speaker 1: in the stakes.
- 35:09Speaker 2: We're serving six four two three in the semis. Let's
- 35:12Speaker 2: stick to that. That's so good.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I love it.
- 35:18Speaker 2: He's like, mate, we're doing we're working now, and you
- 35:20Speaker 2: want to talk to me about pickle We're talking about
- 35:23Speaker 2: a real sport. Yeah, we're in a Grand Slam. Yeah,
- 35:26Speaker 2: and you want to talk about pickle No, I.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Know this is his This is Agassy's real feelings on pickleball.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Like I know he plays, and.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I wish some money out he is.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I wish you boy his rack.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I wish I knew how he really felt before I
- 35:39Speaker 1: paid four hundred dollars for an Agacy paddle. But uh sure,
- 35:45Speaker 1: but then just shutting the guy DOWNA we're talking about
- 35:49Speaker 1: the semi final Wimbledon. What are you doing here?
- 35:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like you go up to Tony Hawk and
- 35:55Speaker 1: ask him about rollerblading.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Well, he's coming dating the X gate exactly?
- 36:02Speaker 1: Are we starting another war with the pickle community.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the comments have died down. I really want to
- 36:08Speaker 2: wake up every morning two more comments about pickleball and
- 36:11Speaker 2: how they're saying it's the superior sport.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Hmmm, and that tennis is dying off.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It's called pickleball. I'll leave it though, exactly.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Yeah, just wait for a banana racket.
- 36:33Speaker 2: It's going to take off.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I loved it. I love Agacy, like it's
- 36:39Speaker 1: true feelings kind of coming out there. And I know
- 36:41Speaker 1: he supports pickleball, and you know it's his paddle. Maybe
- 36:45Speaker 1: not worth four hundred bucks, but my wife was not
- 36:49Speaker 1: really impressed with that purchase.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Really, Yeah, what's this four hundred dollars on the bank statement?
- 36:55Speaker 1: Michael, Yeah, it says paddle and she's like, what are
- 36:59Speaker 1: you paddle for four hundred dollars?
- 37:02Speaker 2: Did you buy us a kayak?
- 37:04Speaker 1: Please?
- 37:05Speaker 2: Don't let it be a kayak.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Are you at one of those clubs where they only
- 37:08Speaker 1: wear leather on the weekend? All right?
- 37:15Speaker 2: What else you got? Okay, We've got a lot of
- 37:20Speaker 2: celebrities at Wimbledon, really top class celebrities. I know we
- 37:24Speaker 2: get celebrities at the others open, but these are like
- 37:27Speaker 2: a listious including Jennifer lopezs that's huge if we could
- 37:35Speaker 2: get the likes of j Lo. Yeah, But controversy, she
- 37:39Speaker 2: wore a massive hat.
- 37:41Speaker 1: What the hell? Yeah a tennis match? Yeah, rude, I
- 37:46Speaker 1: mean it is a huge hat, the urban soprero.
- 37:49Speaker 2: I mean, how old is she?
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, she looks great, but also that hat at a
- 37:54Speaker 1: tennis match? Like, what are you? Jenny from the blocking
- 37:56Speaker 1: my view, I've been sitting on that one for a while.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Mike draw, Mike draw, that was so good.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I'd be annoyed if I was sitting
- 38:12Speaker 1: behind her, But.
- 38:13Speaker 2: You know, would you really? Yeah, it's Jlo. You're so
- 38:18Speaker 2: you could smell Jlo. You could smell her perfume and
- 38:22Speaker 2: you'd be com on, how's it? You wouldn't care about
- 38:27Speaker 2: her hat?
