Middleton-Cross Plains school referendum aims to avoid “draconian cuts”
Amid rising costs and insufficient state aid, a 2022 budget referendum has helped the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District stay afloat. They’re asking voters to continue that funding for another four years, with annual adjustments for inflation, in another ballot question this fall. Bob Hesselbein, president of the Board of Education, joined our News Producer Faye Parks to explain how they used public feedback to tailor their request – and describe what’s at stake if voters reject the referendum on November 3rd.
