  [SPEAKER_00]: And we're talking a brand new report from Tom Pelacero that these Jacksonville Jaguars are releasing veteran tight-end, Johnny Mont.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny went being released by the Jaguars as we talked about earlier today and I've talked about quite a bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I thought that Johnny month could be a potential cap cut candidate for the Jaguars based on the cap savings that his contract offers the Jags for 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: To me, he's a player that

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you look at, you have Britain's strangers you're tied in one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You brought back Quentin Morris, who really became your tied in two down the stretch after being a practice squad player, became your tied into.

  [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I thought he outperformed Johnny Month and Hunter long

  [SPEAKER_00]: throughout training camp and throughout the preseason and then he was a really good special team player when he got on the field and then the Jaguars had to end up signing him from the practice squad because he had standard elevation so many times and now they've resigned him to another deal he'll be back in Jacksonville met with the media today and so the Jaguars really like him Johnny Month and Hunter Long

  [SPEAKER_00]: would be tied in three and tied in four and some order two guys that the Jaguar signed last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Hunt had experience in this type of scheme coming over from Minnesota and had played in LA before.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hunter long had played in LA as well, so there was some familiarity with these two players, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Munt has contract only had $500,000 in dead money and $2.735 million in cap savings.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Johnny Munt no longer going to be part of the Jacksonville Jack Wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is a move along with Chuma Adoga.

  [SPEAKER_00]: is another one that I think makes sense just based on there, standing within the team and how much they're costing the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Chuma Adoga has a $1 million dead cap hit, but is $2.876 million in cap savings for 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a player that, to me, is on the very bottom of the roster when it comes to the offensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So another one where I feel like there could be an upgrade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Is there going to be an upgrade in for agency?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do think, however, that the jag wars can look at both of those spots and upgrade them at the very minimum in the draft at some point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that this is a very good tight-end class in the draft throughout the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then I also think interior offensive line, they'll be able to find somebody that they feel really good about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, again, Tomba Doge hasn't been cut yet as far as I know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: you are seeing Johnny Month getting cut by the jag wars, and this is a move that makes sense to me.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a move that I kind of advocated for, not anything personal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's just the salary cap is the salary cap, and the jags, if they could

  [SPEAKER_00]: Sign everybody and keep everybody.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That'd be great.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's just not the way it works within the cap rules, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I do think Johnny Month moving on from him makes a lot of sense for them trying to potentially upgrade that position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a more consistent player overall than Hunter long and obviously hasn't had the same

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, poor injury, luck that Hunter Long has had, but Hunter Long has some more flashes of brilliantly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He on certain plays, Hunter Long looks like he could be a proble caliber tied into or at least a high level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: caliber starting tight end but there's also a lot more variance in his game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Quentin Morris was kind of that more steady presence even than Johnny Mont.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that he had less mental mistakes, less physical mistakes was a I think a better blocker personally and I think he has more reliable hands and and just is going to be in the right spot when he's supposed to be there more often than Johnny Mont which is why the Jaguar as I think are moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: with Quentin Moore's over-Johnnyman as Titan 2 at this point, but I still think strongly the Jaguar should be considering adding to that Titan room in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a number of players if they wanted somebody who's more in the receiving Titan mode or kind of model.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's definitely guys for that, but their history, brief history, but their history in Jacksonville here suggests that James Gladstone and Liam Cohen would want somebody who brings a little bit more balance and there's a number of guys that in my opinion do bring a lot of balance to the tight end position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you look at Jack Andrews could be a day two or early day three pick out of Texas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I love his game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Sam Rausch, same thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Andrews is not as big as Rausch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a little bit better athlete overall than Rausch and a better receiver than Rausch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Rausch is a better blocker and still a reliable receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So like you kind of have both in his spectrum there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like Oscar Delp is probably going to be a day three pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I really love his game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I mean, Kenyansodika is an unbelievable prospect to me who is a very good blocker and a big time receiving threat.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a Marlin Klein is another one I absolutely love out of Michigan.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is a thoroughbred athlete and a guy who brings the physicality in like the punishment type of type of type of

  [SPEAKER_00]: mindset to the position the same way that Britain strange does, but hell of an athlete.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So there's definitely some options out there for the Jaguars if they do want to continue to upgrade the Titan position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's something I've been very strongly in favor of just, again, because I think that

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars often is going to evolve, if the Jaguars often is going to take a step forward, you're going to need to not only just develop within the scheme from Trevor Lawrence to the rest of the players that are going into your two of the same system for the first time here under Liam Cohen, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: You need to do some things that can present some different challenges to opposing defenses.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Help your running game, having multiple tight ends, who can be balanced tight ends, you don't know when they're out there if they're gonna be receiving threats or they're gonna be blocking threats, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Print and strange plus another guy, and Quentin Morris, I think you could really be cooking there at the tight end position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Johnny Month only here for a year in Jacksonville,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do think that he provided some reliability as a blocker, but not enough to justify, in my opinion, keeping him when you could save almost $3 million against the cap by moving on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then there's just the fact that,

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has only had $100,000 in cap space coming into today.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What did they do today?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They signed Buster Brown to a deal that's costing 11 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, against the cap in 2026, I expect that deal to only be about four to six million, probably under five million, if I had to guess.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Realistic Range, I think, is four to six million for that 2026 cap hit for Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that would put them over the cap, you know, so this is another move to try to help out with that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Dennis Gardeck move, according to Ali Connelly, is a $6 million per year move.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you probably look at that being probably $2 to $3 million, 2026 cap it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And we get these cap heads because the Jaguars and most teams around the league, you know, you offer a signing bonus, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: and then you also can add void years and that greatly reduces the capit because the Great Laboratories is the year one capit because the signing bonus can get pro-rated over the length of the contract instead of hitting the salary cap in year one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously there's been a lot of reporting and sharing information and it seems like just regurgitating the same stuff about Brian Thomas Jr.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguar is decided to trade him, we will report on it until then I don't have too much else to add.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously there's been multiple reports that the Jaguar is our listening to offers but at this point nothing is imminent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to have to be like a godfather offer for the Jaguars to decide to move on from him at this point, but it remains to be seen what ends up happening there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's been some interest around the league in Brian Thomas Jr., will they move him?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they end up moving him though they're going to have a big hole at wide receiver because he is somebody who takes the top off the defense, who draws the opponent opposing defense is number one corner and just creates space for everybody else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So if they do lose that they're going to have to replace that somehow.
