Transcript
- 0:02Hello, ladies and gentlemen, my name is, Brett came from God TV
- 0:05radio. I hope you're all having a
- 0:07blessed day Christmas is coming up as well as New Year's Eve.
- 0:12It is exciting. I hope you all get everything
- 0:15that you ever wished for and desired.
- 0:18Amen to that. I have watched many videos out
- 0:23there with Jews and Muslims, and one of the biggest arguments
- 0:28that they use, is that it's not logical.
- 0:31Able to state that God would come down to the Earth and human
- 0:36flesh. Basically, the argument goes
- 0:40like this, God doesn't need to do that.
- 0:44He doesn't need to do something that is unnecessary.
- 0:48Why would God take apart a physical form in order to be
- 0:52crucified and also interact with the human race when he has
- 0:57millions of different infinite ways of being able to
- 1:01communicate? With the human race.
- 1:03There's been non believers out there who've asked similar
- 1:07questions like that as well. They say, if God has all this
- 1:12power, then why doesn't he just forgive?
- 1:14Why doesn't he just why all the fireworks, all the excitement
- 1:20and all this? And it's a valid question.
- 1:23I have nothing but respect for Jews as well as Muslims, but I
- 1:28do realize is a lot of Jews out there who are still waiting.
- 1:31Waiting for the second coming, they're still waiting for the
- 1:36Messiah to make his return. They don't believe that.
- 1:40Jesus Christ actually had anything to do it.
- 1:44They see him as a prophet, they see him as a great teacher, but
- 1:49they don't see him as Divinity or Divine, and it's very
- 1:54strange. Because before I make my
- 1:56argument, I want to say, I find it unusual that the Muslims
- 2:01would have such a hard time with this because and their very own
- 2:06book, the Quran, they believe that Jesus is going to return,
- 2:11they believe in the whole apocalypse and of the world, and
- 2:15they actually believe that Jesus Christ is the one that's going
- 2:19to lead, the army of the Saints and the prophets to pick them up
- 2:24whenever the world ends They don't really get into the whole
- 2:29wording or labels such as Rapture like Christians do, but
- 2:35they do believe that righteousness and Justice will
- 2:39come from God. And of course, they refer to God
- 2:42as Allah but Allah just simply means God anyway, in their
- 2:47language, what? A lot of Christians may not know
- 2:51whom have never read the Quran. As a great deal of the book, has
- 2:57a lot of Of the same stories as the Old Testament, you're going
- 3:01to find most of the profits, you'll find the story of Adam
- 3:04and Eve, you'll find the story that is mentioned in the New
- 3:08Testament, about the Virgin Mary, you're going to find the
- 3:13story of Moses. There are some interactions that
- 3:17happen with Moses that are not in the Bible such as an
- 3:20instance, where Moses is actually struck with lightning
- 3:24and killed for a moment, temporarily until God.
- 3:27Actually resurrects Moses. That's not in the original Old
- 3:32Testament Bible, but the Quran has that story for those out
- 3:36there who may not have read it. Some of you out there whether
- 3:40you're Christian or Jewish or not, if you haven't taken the
- 3:44time to read the Quran, you probably should.
- 3:47It's It's an interesting. I look at it whenever I read a
- 3:54holy book outside the Bible or I study up another religion, I
- 3:59don't get offended or bothered. In fact, I'm I feel like it
- 4:04enhances my perception and my view because what you're doing
- 4:09is you're Listening and paying attention to someone else's
- 4:14perspective and their walk with God.
- 4:16And whether you call yourself Muslim Jew or Christian, I
- 4:19believe that. We all have our own unique walk
- 4:22with God. When God says he wants a
- 4:25personal relationship with this. I believe every personal
- 4:30relationship God has with us is Custom Tailor Made that were not
- 4:36to Christians are going to walk the same walk not to Muslims are
- 4:40going to The same walk. Same with Jews.
- 4:44I think you're all going to be at a different level and point
- 4:48in your understanding and your presentation with God, but let
- 4:53me explain to the Jews. And the Muslims Wyatt, is that
- 4:57the argument that the idea of God coming down, as flesh, is
- 5:04ridiculous. I've actually heard Jews use
- 5:07this word. It's ridiculous to believe that
- 5:10God Would come down as a finite man who has vulnerabilities and
- 5:16would allow himself to be crucified.
- 5:19That's their belief and the Muslims.
- 5:22They have a story of crucifixion, but they don't
- 5:26believe it was Jesus Christ. It was actually crucified and
- 5:31they still argue just as a Jews do that.
- 5:34It just doesn't make any sense to them.
- 5:36It floors, emits surprises them. The idea that anybody would Hold
- 5:41to the concept. Muslims find them, self
- 5:44constantly arguing along with Jews about Concepts, such as the
- 5:50trinity. Now I can easily refute the
- 5:54argument on why it's necessary and also why it is that Jesus
- 5:59Christ is God and why he it's very possible for him to do
- 6:05this. In fact, it's 100% possible why
- 6:09God would be motivated and intend on doing that.
- 6:14Now, if the Muslims and the Jews could be, so kind and you would
- 6:18roll back into the Old Testament.
- 6:20We were just mentioning Moses. If you remember, Moses had many
- 6:26conversations with God. That's very clear in the Quran,
- 6:29as well as the Old Testament the Torah.
- 6:31So, there's a point in the Bible where God speaks from the sky
- 6:39and he speaks through visions and he also allows himself to be
- 6:42physically seen Seen from a side angle by Moses, but there's
- 6:48something that for some reason, a lot of people end up
- 6:51forgetting even though this is taught to children in Sunday
- 6:54school. How many of you remember, the
- 6:57story of the book, The Burning Bush, where Moses comes up on
- 7:02the burning bush and God manifest himself as a physical
- 7:07representation of the bush. Did God need to do that?
- 7:11In order to communicate with Moses?
- 7:14No, he did. Not.
- 7:15Was it necessary for him to make himself into a blazing Bush?
- 7:21Who could carry on a conversation with Moses?
- 7:24No good. Not why did he do it?
- 7:27According to the Bible, it was his intent and his motivation
- 7:32for whatever reason that this was the physical presentation
- 7:36that he would give himself the embodiment Aunt, in order to
- 7:40speak a message to Moses. Now if we remember God according
- 7:47to the Bible, whether you believe in the New Testament or
- 7:50Old Testament, God tells us that his time is different than our
- 7:55own to come down. As a man would be like mere
- 8:00seconds to him. A human life is nothing more
- 8:03than a blink of an eye. It's more.
- 8:06It's like a second and the universe for the perspective of
- 8:11an entity. An omniscient, powerful Superior
- 8:16entity such as God. But here you have it in the Old
- 8:20Testament and it's not just a burning bush.
- 8:23There are several times where God will speak through animals.
- 8:27There's God speaking through, many different ways.
- 8:32God also sends physical manifestations of men, Angels
- 8:39looking like actual men in order to deliver his messages for him.
- 8:45So yeah, I don't understand that this point when you know this,
- 8:50when you know that God has taken on all these different physical
- 8:54Nature's and he's also used external profits as well as
- 8:59Angels whenever that technically if you think about it isn't
- 9:04necessary, since God has the power to do everything without
- 9:09anybody's help or requirement. To say that God wouldn't do that
- 9:15because it's not necessary. It's like saying well because
- 9:19God so powerful, then it wouldn't make sense for him to
- 9:22send an angel or a messenger or talk to an animal.
- 9:28Do you see what I mean? So I feel like at this point,
- 9:33not to, within the Muslims, are the Jews on this.
- 9:37I feel like you've been absolutely refuted and this
- 9:41argument, you've been destroyed in this intellectual argument.
- 9:46And I think the best thing to do now is to reconsider and reflect
- 9:52To yourself what it is really Ponder, what your position and
- 9:57what your belief in God actually is because for all these years
- 10:02for the Jews out there and Muslims, who denied the nature
- 10:06and Divinity of Jesus Christ, you're basically saying that a
- 10:11great deal of these books, just don't make sense to you.
- 10:15It's nothing more than a circle inside of the square or vice
- 10:19versa. Now, that I've given you You
- 10:22this full learn information that, you know, all too.
- 10:26Well, these are old ancient stories where God does this.
- 10:31There's no reason to continue to hold the idea that it's stupid
- 10:34or ridiculous to believe that God is capable and will do
- 10:40things, whether you think that it's right or wrong or think,
- 10:43it's necessary. Doesn't matter God's going to do
- 10:47things the way he wants to? It's God's Universe.
- 10:51God is going to And duck has Universe the way he sees fit.
- 10:56Well, ladies and gentlemen, I hope you all have a blessed day.
- 11:03Assalamualaikum waalaikumsalam. So Mike, so being a Muslim as
- 11:08you can already. Imagine my main problem is with
- 11:12the Christian doctrine of godhood of Jesus.
- 11:15So my there is a couple of questions to related.
- 11:18First of all, I find this concept logically fallacious
- 11:25like there are many aspects to its logical fallacy, as in maybe
- 11:29one of them could be the, how can God be finite?
- 11:32Right. And then infinite at the same
- 11:34time like this is like, it's like saying that they could
- 11:38exist a square circle. It's logical fallacy, right?
- 11:41So when we say that Jesus was God or Son of God, we are
- 11:46actually saying that God existed infinitude during the life of
- 11:51Jesus. And he also is infinite the same
- 11:55time. This is a logical fallacious now
- 11:57because you are like you're coming from a historical statue
- 12:00of you to respond to that or you have, it's a real Like the same
- 12:04question continuing so because you're going at it, from a
- 12:06historical standpoint. Another thing that adds like the
- 12:09historical evidence that adds like that supports this argument
- 12:13is that the concept of Trinity, the word Trinity itself, it
- 12:17doesn't appear as a theological term till near the end of the
- 12:21second century after Jesus. So it was first used by as try a
- 12:27spy Theophilus, the bishop of Antioch in ad 180 so we can I
- 12:33like adding up to that. When you refer to Mark Chapter
- 12:3714 verse 62, which is what you say, is, the proof that Jesus
- 12:42claimed to be God. Are you really applying the same
- 12:46criteria of objectivity that you are applying previously to the
- 12:50Quran? When interpreting this, as
- 12:53meaning, that Jesus is claiming himself to be God, because if
- 12:57you like look at it, completely objectively looking at the
- 13:01entire text, like there is nothing.
- 13:02Thing in the entire text. That's that's saying that Jesus
- 13:05claimed to be God. And in fact, the verse that you
- 13:07yourself code is actually saying, son of man.
- 13:10So I mean question, don't go anywhere.
- 13:15What's your name? Moons are 10 way from.
- 13:18I'm from Pakistan, Pakistan, both Russia, who have similar K.
- 13:24I have the exact same questions when I was when I when I
- 13:28practice Islam, What I want to point out, is that first and
- 13:32foremost, what we have to see is what Jesus claimed for himself
- 13:35now, the secondary stuff that follows the theological
- 13:38unfolding or unpacking of what he said, we can spend years and
- 13:42years debating what it means. But what did he say about
- 13:45himself? That's the first thing we want
- 13:47to look at. So again that's a historical
- 13:50perspective. Theologians argue all day long
- 13:52back and forth, back and forth, you know, theologians argue all
- 13:54the time and I just sit back and watch and smile because you
- 13:57can't really prove it one way or another, but when it Comes to
- 14:00historical events, we can show with relative degrees of
- 14:02certainty. If the evidence is good, if the
- 14:04records are good, what they most likely conclusion is.
- 14:08So first, and let me give you an answer before if you feel like
- 14:12interjecting we can talk afterwards.
- 14:15First, I want to point out you are absolutely right.
- 14:17The term Trinity is not used to the end of the second century.
- 14:21What is the doctrine of God called in the Quran?
- 14:25In Islam. What is the doctrine of God
- 14:27called? He thought?
- 14:28He'd is that in the Quran. I know the word that he is a
- 14:33derived word, from Allah, alhamdulillah is good.
- 14:36So you understand the word thought he'd is not itself in
- 14:39the Quran. In the same way the word Trinity
- 14:41is not itself in the Bible, this doesn't pose a problem.
- 14:43The shahada is not found in the Quran.
- 14:46You have the components of the shahada in the Quran that you do
- 14:48not. Hold on.
- 14:49You do not have La ilaha illallah, muhammadur rasulullah
- 14:51in that way. Found in the Quran, the
- 14:53component:, the components are found in the Quran with the
- 14:57Trinity. The components are found in the
- 15:00Bible. So the word do he does appear in
- 15:05the Hadith, that's great, but it's not in the Quran and the
- 15:09Hadith is much later. So we're looking at the you
- 15:12asked for the Bible and we have within the early canonical
- 15:15tradition people calling a god a trinity in the early canonical
- 15:19tradition in fact much closer to Jesus time then the Hadith were
- 15:22to Muhammad's time so whichever way you stack it when you're
- 15:25consistent you end up with a stronger case for the Trinity
- 15:30for This deity. Now I want to continue on to
- 15:32your next part of your question, which is, is Jesus finite or
- 15:36infinite? The argument is that Jesus is,
- 15:40you know, I'm trying to pose in a slightly different way.
- 15:42Can Allah come on to this world if he wants?
- 15:45Can he be in this world if he wants?
- 15:49I wouldn't think so, you wouldn't think so.
- 15:50So so Allah is omnipotence is limited.
- 15:52He can't come on to this world. It's like basically you a lot
- 15:56that I cannot do logically Felicia sing, like, he cannot
- 15:59create a square circle, right? Because that's that's something.
- 16:03Logically for how do we transfer the things that a lot?
- 16:06A lot. How do we know that's what this
- 16:07is? Because for example in Surah
- 16:09al-e-imran. When Allah is talking to Moses,
- 16:13it says in Surah, al-imran I think it's what Elena might be
- 16:16sort of 18 but double check. That Allah as he spoke to Moses
- 16:20Allah was in the bush. Allah was in the bush.
- 16:25So if you want to say that meant something else.
- 16:27So you're going to have to argue with the Quran on that one.
- 16:29It seems to be pretty clear that Allah can emanate his voice from
- 16:32a physical place, he can be in a physical place.
- 16:34In a sense in the same way. We don't believe, I don't
- 16:38believe that God coming to this earth limits his omnipotence.
- 16:42It's not a limitation of his omnipotence.
- 16:44Jesus has taken on flesh. God, the father still
- 16:47everywhere. Jesus, the sun is here on this
- 16:51Earth. It's a limitation in that sense
- 16:53but it's not a limitation of his nature.
- 16:54He is both the Divine and human nature.
- 16:56That's the argument. Now I want to talk about briefly
- 17:00and then we're going to have to go to the next question.
- 17:01But let's talk afterwards for sure.
- 17:03You asked about the son of man, you said he's not calling
- 17:05himself, the Son of God, he's calling himself, the son of man,
- 17:08I'm emphasizing to you my friend when this hit me again, while I
- 17:12was practicing Islam. When this hit me, it hit me like
- 17:14a bolt of lightning. The claim, Son of God.
- 17:18God. According to Jews at that time
- 17:21was not anything Divine. Adam was called the Son of God.
- 17:24Solomon was called the Son of God in the Psalms it says, you
- 17:28are Gods. It's not a Divine claim to call
- 17:31someone a Son of God. But when someone refers to that,
- 17:34son of man coming on the Clouds Of Heaven, who's going to
- 17:37receive Glory Authority, and Sovereign power, and people of
- 17:39every nation and language are going to worship him with the
- 17:41worship due only to God. That son of man is more than
- 17:46just a human. He is divine, he's going to be
- 17:50worshipped by all people of all times.
- 17:51So when Jesus calls himself, the son of man, he's not, it's not
- 17:54the Son of God title and lots of Christians get this wrong.
- 17:56So I'm not I'm not pointing the finger at you.
- 17:58Lots of Christians, say o, son of man means he's human and Son
- 18:00of God means he's got no. It's the other way around into
- 18:03the Jewish context. Son of God was a normal human
- 18:05title, son of man from Daniel 7. That was something Divine.
- 18:09Go back and read. Daniel chapter 7, see that this
- 18:11man is worshiped by all people from all eternity.
- 18:13This man, One who looks like a human anyway is worshiped by all
- 18:18people alongside of God. The father.
- 18:20That's the one Jesus is claiming to be definitely understand that
- 18:24point that I'm trying to make. And so when you see that Jesus
- 18:26claimed is found there and Mark 1462 it's found in all the
- 18:29gospels. And every time Jesus uses the
- 18:31term son of, man, he's alluding to that.
- 18:34You cannot extract that from the gospels.
- 18:36So please put Mark 1462 next, to Daniel chapter 7 and see what
- 18:41Jesus is claiming for himself and we'll talk afterwards for
- 18:44the rest. Lord bless you, my friend.
- 18:47We'll take one last question. We'll take one last question.
