- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, is Monday, June fifteenth. This is Fox and
- 0:04Speaker 1: Friends with the News Alert. Right now, President Trump is
- 0:06Speaker 1: on his way to Europe for the G seven Summit,
- 0:09Speaker 1: fresh off the heels of the historic agreement to end
- 0:12Speaker 1: the war with Iran that he says will bring peace
- 0:14Speaker 1: to the region.
- 0:15Speaker 2: So the Commander in Chief is telling ships that have
- 0:19Speaker 2: been stuck in the strait of her moves to start
- 0:21Speaker 2: their engines, calling for old to start fluent again, sending
- 0:25Speaker 2: stocks soaring.
- 0:27Speaker 3: And we have team coverage for you this morning. We
- 0:29Speaker 3: have Aisha Hasney. She is live in Geneva, Switzerland, with
- 0:33Speaker 3: how this will impact the G seventh summit. But first
- 0:35Speaker 3: we're going to start with Trey Yinks. He is live
- 0:38Speaker 3: in Israel with the latest on this historic peace deal.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Trey, Yeah, Hey, guys, good morning. After more than one
- 0:44Speaker 4: hundred days in a state of war, a deal has
- 0:47Speaker 4: been reached between the United States and Iran. President Trump
- 0:51Speaker 4: taking to True Social overnight, saying quote, this great deal
- 0:54Speaker 4: will bring peace and security to the whole region. Many
- 0:57Speaker 4: presidents have tried to make peace with Iran, all have failed.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Before me, the leaders of the region have for the
- 1:02Speaker 4: first time found a president who could help them achieve
- 1:05Speaker 4: real peace with the opening of the strait. Upon the
- 1:07Speaker 4: signing of the deal on Friday, for purposes of mind removal,
- 1:11Speaker 4: oil will flow on both ends again for the region
- 1:14Speaker 4: and the world. A signing ceremony is set to take
- 1:16Speaker 4: place on Friday in Geneva, Switzerland. Before the deal was signed,
- 1:19Speaker 4: it was nearly derailed. The Israelis targeted Hesbala with strikes
- 1:23Speaker 4: in the Lebanese capital of Beirut. Aronian officials immediately vowed
- 1:26Speaker 4: to respond with missile fire toward Israel. A diplomat with
- 1:30Speaker 4: knowledge of the situation told Fox News that Katari mediators
- 1:33Speaker 4: stayed in Tehran conducting intensive negotiations coordinated with the United States.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Vice President Vance described to Fox News what those final
- 1:41Speaker 4: moments were like before the agreement was reached. Could you
- 1:45Speaker 4: take us behind the scenes of what that moment was
- 1:48Speaker 4: like leading up to this deal actually being signed.
- 1:51Speaker 5: After the Israelis struck Beirut, we were very worried, and
- 1:54Speaker 5: we saw a lot of evidence that the Iranians were
- 1:56Speaker 5: going to launch a large number of missiles at the Israelis.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Our communication with them over the course of getting to
- 2:03Speaker 5: this signed peace deal, they assured us that they are
- 2:07Speaker 5: not going to respond to the Israelis and they were
- 2:10Speaker 5: going to sign this agreement and get to peace. Now,
- 2:13Speaker 5: of course, you always have to verify these things, Trey,
- 2:16Speaker 5: and we know that there are a lot of people
- 2:18Speaker 5: in the Middle East who do not want to make
- 2:20Speaker 5: this deal happen.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I spoke with President Trump before the deal was reached,
- 2:26Speaker 4: and he was optimistic about what this agreement means for
- 2:28Speaker 4: the region. The President also got directly involved to ensure
- 2:32Speaker 4: that the Iranians didn't launch missiles at Israel and derailed
- 2:35Speaker 4: the deal.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Guys, Hey, Trey, the problem is the IRG, said irgc
- 2:40Speaker 1: had Bhidi. He is now in charge, the sixty seven
- 2:43Speaker 1: year old guy who we already have sanctions on, and
- 2:46Speaker 1: this is the guy that evidently is pushing back against
- 2:48Speaker 1: the Foreign Minister and others who are negotiating with us.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So there's really we're trying to get a deal with
- 2:54Speaker 1: Iran who's not trustworthy, and within Iran they have disagreements
- 2:58Speaker 1: on what to do. Right.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, there is a real division inside the Iranian regime.
- 3:05Speaker 4: And I think back to last week when the President
- 3:08Speaker 4: spoke from the situation room with Fox News and he
- 3:10Speaker 4: and the Vice President described how they've had to navigate
- 3:13Speaker 4: this difficult reality. Inside of Iran, you have these relatively
- 3:17Speaker 4: more moderate voices like the parliament speaker Kaliboff and also
- 3:21Speaker 4: the President Musud Pozeskian, But then you have these hardliners
- 3:24Speaker 4: in the IRGC that want to continue the war against
- 3:27Speaker 4: the United States. And it's important to member here not
- 3:30Speaker 4: only during Operation Epic Fury was the Iranian military decimated.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Those production lines that give those individuals in the IRGC
- 3:38Speaker 4: the ability to restock their missile and drones supply were
- 3:41Speaker 4: also destroyed, and so the Iranians have much less leverage
- 3:44Speaker 4: and they had three months ago. Also, it's important to
- 3:47Speaker 4: note the Iranians didn't get what they want out of
- 3:49Speaker 4: the negotiations. Remember they entered into these talks with the
- 3:52Speaker 4: United States demanding that all US forces leave bases across
- 3:55Speaker 4: the Middle East, and they didn't get that. Ultimately, US
- 3:58Speaker 4: forces will stay in Bahrai, where the US Navy's fifth
- 4:01Speaker 4: Fleet is based. And also you have a situation where
- 4:04Speaker 4: there are other locations, including the oloded base in Qatar,
- 4:08Speaker 4: where thousands of US forces will remain. And so the
- 4:10Speaker 4: President maintains the ability to use military force if the
- 4:13Speaker 4: Iranians step back from the agreement, but also worked out
- 4:17Speaker 4: within this deal is leverage on the regime. They're not
- 4:19Speaker 4: going to get sanctions relief unless they adhere to their
- 4:22Speaker 4: end of the deal, and that means keeping the straight
- 4:24Speaker 4: up hor moves open for the free flow of international shipping,
- 4:28Speaker 4: and also entering into these detailed discussions that will ultimately
- 4:31Speaker 4: dilute or destroy the highly enriched geranium that is buried
- 4:34Speaker 4: deep underground inside of Iranian territory.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So Trey. Obviously, you know, there's an American perspective to
- 4:41Speaker 2: this because we're a combat over there. But the Iranian people,
- 4:46Speaker 2: and I understand some people, you know, they have compassion,
- 4:49Speaker 2: but they're only concerned about our interests. They thought that
- 4:52Speaker 2: they were going to get a new leader there, and
- 4:54Speaker 2: I think that's what serves a lot of these protests
- 4:56Speaker 2: over there. They thought that this was their shot. It
- 4:59Speaker 2: looks like like if this deal happens, then it's going
- 5:03Speaker 2: to be the status quo a least regarding the Iranian people.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Yes, and it's not regime change, but it is a
- 5:12Speaker 4: changed regime. And that's because during Operation Epic Fury around
- 5:16Speaker 4: Supreme Leader the Ayatola Kamanaiyu was taken out in an
- 5:18Speaker 4: air strike along with forty other senior officials. Now his son,
- 5:22Speaker 4: Mustaba Khamanai has now taken over, and so we shouldn't
- 5:25Speaker 4: make any mistakes about the hardliners within Iran. But there
- 5:28Speaker 4: is a sense, at least at this moment, that the
- 5:30Speaker 4: regime understands they can't win a war against the United States,
- 5:33Speaker 4: and ultimately they have to make these concessions at the
- 5:35Speaker 4: negotiating table. As for the Iranian people, there are more
- 5:38Speaker 4: than ninety million people in Iran. Many of them bravely
- 5:41Speaker 4: took to the streets of their country earlier this year,
- 5:43Speaker 4: and they were met with live ammunition. President Trump says
- 5:46Speaker 4: forty two thousand Iranians were slaughtered in the streets of
- 5:48Speaker 4: their country, and many of the commanders from the IRGC
- 5:51Speaker 4: and the besieged forces that ordered the crackdown on protesters
- 5:54Speaker 4: were also killed and their headquarters were targeted during Operation
- 5:57Speaker 4: Epic Fury. Now this doesn't necessary paint and optimistic picture
- 6:01Speaker 4: for the future. There are still hardliners in charge, and
- 6:04Speaker 4: they likely will try to crack down on the demonstrators
- 6:07Speaker 4: if they take to the streets of their country again.
- 6:09Speaker 4: But again, President Trump maintains the ability to have leverage
- 6:13Speaker 4: over the regime, both militarily and economically. So if the
- 6:16Speaker 4: Iranians change their behavior and go back to their old ways,
- 6:19Speaker 4: threatening their people and also US forces or allies across
- 6:22Speaker 4: the Middle East, they're not going to get that sanctioned
- 6:24Speaker 4: relief that they desperately want.
- 6:26Speaker 3: All right, Trey, thank you so much. We talked to
- 6:29Speaker 3: a senior White House official on Friday who said all
- 6:34Speaker 3: the enrich uranium will be destroyed and taken out of
- 6:36Speaker 3: the country. And we asked, are you confident that you
- 6:39Speaker 3: know where it all is? And this senior White House
- 6:42Speaker 3: official said yes. So if this deal sticks, Israel in
- 6:46Speaker 3: the United States will not have to worry about a
- 6:49Speaker 3: nuclear weapon. And that was the whole reason President Trump
- 6:51Speaker 3: got in this conflict.
- 6:52Speaker 1: They evidently put booby traps around whether the uranium is
- 6:55Speaker 1: deep underneath, just in case we decided that operation, which
- 6:58Speaker 1: evidently was we were going to do. We were all
- 7:00Speaker 1: ready to go in and go grab it. At the
- 7:02Speaker 1: last minute, the President pulled it back because it would.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Have been hys very high risk, very volatile, and very dangerous. Yes,
