- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Kind of feeling it, Merle.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: He texted and uh he said there he said, here's to Tuesday being better than Monday.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: News was wild all day.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Apparently he's getting a couple new coworkers that he's uh gonna start training up today.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Uh and he's looking forward to that.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: At least it looks like it.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Uh and then Emily, excellent reminder, said, uh, hey, uh, it's that time of the year to plant the garlic.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: And then one more, uh, this one from uh uh let's see, 2666666666.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Good everyone.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Running a little bit behind this morning.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: And it does take me back to Merle's text where it's like, yeah, yeah, yesterday was a little crazy.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I think we need this.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: We all need to just take a second.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: There seems to be a weird tension in the air around the twin tiers.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It's just breathing.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: It was.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: I don't know what was going on yesterday.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Well, we got Natalie wishing it was Friday already, just breathing in the alley.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Take a deep breath.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: I feel I feel a lot better.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: It's been almost two weeks that I've been sick, and I'm feeling a lot better.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I can hear that you have actually taken that deep breath and not hacked your guts out right afterwards.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm impressed with that.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: No, there's just sometimes weird vibes just sort of uh, you know, take over, and that's where you just gotta sit back and you go, all right, we're resetting now.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Everything's fine for everything's fine from here.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Don't worry, we have Monday off.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: This I want to see whose fault is this.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: So if a diploma gets bent, whose fault is it?
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: I read this story about how, and it's not a local college, but a college sent a diploma in the mail, and the mail carrier put it in the the mailbox, but it was like, you know, a regular size mailbox where it's curved.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: So the the diploma got bent in the mailbox.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: So the question is, whose fault is it?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: But did the envelope have anything that said do not bend?
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: I'm glad you asked.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Yes, it did.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: And what was told in the story on Reddit that I read was that it was a 15-second walk to a covered porch door, could have could have put it there.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: But they didn't.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: So is it the mail carrier's fault?
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Because it says do not bend, yeah, and they still bent it and put it in the the um mailbox, or is it the university's fault for not protecting it enough?
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Um uh I I don't know that I could lay more blame.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: I I mean everybody has a little bit of blame, I think, in this story.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know that I can lay all the blame on the university because A, wouldn't you have the opportunity to go get it day one?
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Like you could have.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: I got mine because I was present for it.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Right, you could have.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Now I understand not everybody has that.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Also, most diplomas nowadays, or I maybe not all of them, don't they come in that harder like book sleeve?
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: So that's how mine came.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: But I'm not sure what happened with this one.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: This was just a piece of paper.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: And here's the here's the thing I don't remember.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Cardstock, if you will.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't remember.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Did I pay for that?
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: That that hard book?
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Maybe I did, because well, dang it, Otterbine got a lot of my money.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: So give me a hard book.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: But maybe it's let's say it's a community college, they're not you're not paying as much, they're not giving you a hard book.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: So could it have been sloppiness on the mail carrier's part?
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: They're just like, I don't care.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I got a big route and I'm just stuffing everything in every mailbox that I come across.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Do they're not getting out unless I actually have to do like we're in prime days right now.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: There's gonna be a lot of uh parcel carriers, if you will, that will have to get out of their vehicle and drop boxes off.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: But if you don't have to, I'm gonna do you still.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say, and my cousin used to work for UPS or FedEx or one of those way back in the day.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: And when it would say fragile on the side of a box, she's like, we throw literally everything.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Those would be the ones that I feel would have more accountability.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Like you could literally call UPS or FedEx and be like, dudes, you you could do a little better here.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: It said fragile, you did it, but for a mail carrier, I I could see getting in the pattern of, you know, you're well, if you're not walking, you're driving your little Jeep and you're stuffing things in the mailbox.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: You're saying you're not really looking at it.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: You may well, you may, may not, or you may be in a rush.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: You may be well, look, I'm giving every excuse to why it's possible.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I know I think I have to.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: If I had to pick more blame, I would say poor move on the mail carrier's part.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Maybe you should have pulled up the extra foot from the mailbox, got out, quick ran it up to the thing, but I also look at it like I mean, the other person had the right to be able to go get the diploma.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Life gets in the way.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Maybe they moved, who knows?
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: I don't know the situation of why you didn't get your diploma in person, but you also still worked really hard and spent a lot of money on those four years to get that.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna put the blame on the mail carrier on this one because it specifically says do not bend.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: It's like in your mind you go, eh, and it can't.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Well, I guess they don't come in the hard case all the time.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: They don't?
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: No.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I guess I was lucky.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: And you can't pick up your college diploma anymore.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Well, things have changed since 2005.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Unless you walk across the stage, probably you would have it handed to you.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: And that's what happened with us.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, is that a dummy diploma or is that a well any diploma I get is a dummy diploma, but that's a different story.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: I remember that they that what they did was, and I my college was smaller, so maybe this is why I was afforded this little luxury, but that they opened the book, they read the name, they closed the book, and they handed it to you.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe if you did the walk.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: All right, Betty says mail carrier's fault.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Uh then Emily came in.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: It's definitely the mail carrier's fault.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, the university can only do so much and do not uh bend is very explicit uh directions.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Uh that that is like uh what is it?
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Uh free companies uh that is like free companies dropping off the non-stack cone and stacking non-stackable fragile or fragile.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, I see where you're going.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Mail carrier fault again from Natalie.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: It says it says do not bend, just walk to the porch.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I wasn't expecting that.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, I uh I'm gonna have to lead more that it's the mail carrier.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: But the directions right there.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: This is important to me.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: I spent like I said, I spent a lot of money, a lot of time, tears and years.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: You you'd have to you'd have to get out of your vehicle if you had something that had to be signed for.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: You know, that happens.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: True.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: So it's one thing.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: It's one little baby thing.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's how the university should have done it, though.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Have it signed for?
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: That's actually not a bad idea.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Just thinking that too.
