- 0:01He got to this point yesterday and that is area of respect.
- 0:06That's a great level of Hasidut. And can the bully respect the
- 0:12rabbi? You respect the books, respect
- 0:14the scrolls, respect those who learn and respect when you learn
- 0:18and where you learn, which means smell of the room.
- 0:22The fact that they shouldn't get anything appropriate around all
- 0:24these things indicate levels of respect.
- 0:27We said a person has to get out of their mind both of Tara when
- 0:31they go to the restaurant position and have these
- 0:32thoughts. While it's an indication of lack
- 0:35of respect and the opposite of forms of respect and it brings.
- 0:39We know the Fasuk stand up and father the elderly give respect
- 0:42to those who are Zakan and Zakan means meet all, but it also
- 0:47means Zakhoner Hochma, a person who's acquired wisdom as they
- 0:52can. Hence to in fact, the Gemara
- 0:54talks about a discussion of a Yanique Herham.
- 0:57What's the Yanique herham? A little kid, Tami Herham, you
- 1:01have an 18 year old, a 15 year old, even a 25 row, even a 35
- 1:05row though a young. Do they deserve the respect when
- 1:09they just simply have not lived so much of life or have so much
- 1:13experience when they do have a lot of total knowledge and they
- 1:15gonna talk about how there is a need for such respect A yanique
- 1:18Herham as again, that's kind of from the word zacchaeus.
- 1:21I can't mean it's old, but it also means ZE cornet, someone
- 1:25who has acquired wisdom. But the reason we're giving them
- 1:27respect, that's very clear. It's not to blow.
- 1:31There you go to build them up, to build that person up.
- 1:34In fact, I think about this all the time.
- 1:35And that is if you give an elderly orb, now you have a
- 1:39rabbi respect and you expect of him to remain humble.
- 1:44How's it going to work? How's it going to work?
- 1:46Then when he walks into a room, everyone stands up and he
- 1:48remains humble. How's it going to work?
- 1:50When they say his name, they title it with Hadalbagh on.
- 1:53He remains humble. How does it work?
- 1:56It works and you realize this. Your respect is not that there's
- 2:00so much respecting him to respecting the outcome of what
- 2:04he became or more importantly, the Torah that is inside of him.
- 2:09He's very bustle. Yeah.
- 2:11Now the reason I want to say it's only respecting the gods.
- 2:13Also respecting kind of him is because a rabbi at that point,
- 2:17any person who learns a lot his Torah and himself associate upon
- 2:20impasse. He and his Torah will do one,
- 2:23which means any random opinion that he gives a socially
- 2:26representative of his Torah, and he actually that he does a
- 2:29representative of his Torah, any movie makes any has he does any
- 2:32kind of work he does. Those are all forms of his
- 2:35development of his Torah. And because of that, the respect
- 2:39that he's giving him is not solely for the Torah inside of
- 2:41him. It's kind of that that thing
- 2:43that became one of his fused together, the Torah and him
- 2:46combined, which became one in the respect of that entity.
- 2:49But that entity is still not the body.
- 2:52It's still not the real person. That part doesn't need respect.
- 2:56The part that need respect is the development of this great
- 2:59person based on his Torah and his Torah learning and
- 3:02dedication to it. That's what calls for respect.
- 3:05And that does not create arrogance.
- 3:07That retains humility. Such a logic, because that
- 3:12retains humility because you're not trying to impact him.
- 3:16You're not trying to respect so much his body, his original self
- 3:20in respecting his Torah developed self.
- 3:22That's the spiritual modest physical, even though his
- 3:25virtual goes into his physical, as I'm trying to say, his mind,
- 3:29which might be a physical entity as well, and his opinion and his
- 3:33advice and his kind of say those all those kind of physical
- 3:35things, but they became his entity through his total
- 3:39learning through his life, living to that combination.
- 3:43I think of this following way and it's an important point.
- 3:47AI, AI, some people like it, some people are not too into it.
- 3:51So with that, the more you learn it, the more you watch it, the
- 3:54more impressed you are in a sense.
- 3:56Obviously you wear real dangers, but AI for every person really
- 4:01is kinda an AI existence. That means you European Nike,
- 4:07you're a combination of your parents upbringing, your life
- 4:12experience, the work you live to, the people you dealt with,
- 4:16children raising in a combination of your education,
- 4:19the schools you went to, people around you.
- 4:21It's what all you've learned, the ups and downs of life and
- 4:26all that you put into a mix. And when I asked you a question,
- 4:30you spelled an answer. And that answer comes from all
- 4:32that, right? You are.
- 4:34And AI existence and every person is the own, not
- 4:38artificial intelligence, life intelligence for every person is
- 4:41that. And so are you and so are you.
- 4:43And that's why we all have 3 answers to anything.
- 4:45If I ask anything politically, even sports related, I have
- 4:49anything about life, about money, how to make money, what
- 4:52kind of business to what? Oh, you think of this?
- 4:55Do you think of that? It's all going to come out
- 4:57differently based on your version of your mix, Yes, of
- 5:02your developed intelligence. A rabbi, a Twitter person is
- 5:06also in a very strong sense a creation of all his life
- 5:11experience, all his throughout learning in a certain sense, AI,
- 5:15it's a full intelligence, not official, but full built on all
- 5:20these different things going on. Yeah, I used to think that when
- 5:22I went, I people would say when he went to Koloa, he started to
- 5:25become Ravine. And the answer is no.
- 5:28I learned that Koloa pretty much does not alleviate the coming of
- 5:31Ravine directly. Directly.
- 5:34Some of it does, a lot of it doesn't, right.
- 5:37Not directly, but sitting and learning does somewhat and being
- 5:42rabbi. All the time.
- 5:45When you go back, I haven't seen.
- 5:46Have we talked for one rabbit? No.
- 5:49The rabbit has tremendous respect for his rabbit.
- 5:52Harabi, right? Like his father?
- 5:54Yes. Yes, yeah.
- 5:55Mike, His father. Yes.
- 5:56Yes, sure. Everybody would send that.
- 5:59Oh, really nice. So have you.
- 6:02So the idea is and he has a Mama has a life vision, a lot of the
- 6:07game of his rabbi, his parents, his parents, and this is all of
- 6:10us. So I pointed them back to the
- 6:12Cole idea. I don't think Cole directly.
- 6:14Everything I learned can be translated to giving a speech
- 6:17probably cannot, but being around certain people disgusting
- 6:20to certain people learning, you know, trying to learn enough.
- 6:24These things are are adding to your life vision and they play
- 6:28into your role and a lot of other things do as well.
- 6:30Don't discount the. The SOAP question from the.
- 6:32Grandparents. Grandparents.
- 6:34Parents experience witnessing, learning, making mistakes,
- 6:39fixing them up. All that goes into your
- 6:41intelligence and all that is what you respect.
- 6:45When you see a person of honor person represents to the you
- 6:48expect you respect and honor that.
- 6:51Not the body, not the person, not his charm, not his name.
- 6:56That's all we're going to add to bloating cover all to either.
- 7:00Rather, you respect this other entity inside that person that
- 7:03can't just say is to the alone. It's rather his entire newfound
- 7:07existence through his life experience and his influence and
- 7:11his trial learning and the people around them and the Musa
- 7:14that he's put on himself and his life's mistakes and his life's
- 7:18fix UPS. All those go into the creation
- 7:21of this new person. And that's what caused for
- 7:23Kavoor. Follow me Dave.
- 7:25That's what caused for. So I'm out to be part of
- 7:28everything. Is the truth and honesty maybe
- 7:31that too. You know, when you be, when you
- 7:34have a situation where you could, you could benefit by not
- 7:38being honest. You have to think of that Sham
- 7:40is watching me, you know, you know, I do this.
- 7:43You know, I was in a situation yesterday where I could have I,
- 7:48I was in a situation where I could have made money.
- 7:50I made a mistake honestly. And somebody pointed out to me
- 7:54is, you know, so I, I, I mentioned it, I was with other
- 7:59people. OK, but why'd you do that?
- 8:01It was really done. I really have to keep this.
- 8:03It was the right thing. I, I couldn't benefit from this
- 8:07thing that I did. You know, there's I really, I
- 8:08didn't make the mistake, but somebody pointed out to me that,
- 8:11you know, just. Let me ask you a question.
- 8:13If you didn't have life experience and if you never run
- 8:18a business and if you didn't have the right upbringing and
- 8:21the right people around you and all that, you've gone through
- 8:24life. Do you think it would have been
- 8:26that much of A knee jerk reaction to be honest?
- 8:30Or you've been much more tempted to think about the ignoring it
- 8:34looking the other way? It all comes from life
- 8:36experience. It all comes to everything.
- 8:38And that really in the sense sense is every person's, I call
- 8:41that their Torah in the sense is it's their mixture that came out
- 8:46the right way. That's really what it is.
- 8:47And that's when it comes to a great man, an elderly person,
- 8:51the fact that the chemosis we stand up for seniors.
- 8:54Why? Because they have that
- 8:56experience and they have that development and that's in a
- 8:58certain sense their Torah. And that's where their advice
- 9:02comes from as well. And their influence and their
- 9:04opinion. It comes from that we look at
- 9:06the world a certain way. You have an opinions about these
- 9:08a certain way, you know, right from wrong.
- 9:10And more than most, it all comes from that.
- 9:12And when it comes to standing here for agreeing, May it's
- 9:14based on that as well and that and treating that the right way.
- 9:18Like give me an example on that point.
- 9:21The fact that we have to, we give respect to elderly people
- 9:24and the fact that today we know this, the world today likes
- 9:27young. Everything's about the young.
- 9:29Everything's about the coaches are 35 years old, 33 years old.
- 9:33The mayor of New York is 34 years old, future mayor.
- 9:37All these things are based in the fact that people like young
- 9:39when they believe in young, right?
- 9:41There is one flaw in that system.
- 9:43And that one flaw is if you've watched, and I've watched from
- 9:47the coach carousel and sports, if you watch how many of these
- 9:51young people who seem to come up and they're like rising stars of
- 9:54nobody business and he's saying what?
- 9:56Based on what are you looking and saying based on what?
- 10:00How good could this coordinator be?
- 10:02He's only been the years and they just talking and talking
- 10:07and building it up. The issue is that when you
- 10:10compare that to someone who's older, yes, and it comes to
- 10:13sport, sometimes the game pass you by.
- 10:15Sport's not the most perfect example.
- 10:16And politics as well. You know the.
- 10:18People, how to handle the people, the young and I, how to
- 10:20handle them. Good experience.
- 10:23So all the issue with the world going pro young is that they not
- 10:27really trusting or caring about this moment we just put out,
- 10:32which is the development of knowledge, the development of
- 10:36life experience, the development of a new type of intelligence
- 10:39based on everything you witnessed is not there when
- 10:42those young and they don't deserve therefore the same
- 10:44respect that the older deserve. And that's the challenge with
- 10:47everything going to young. And by the way, I say
- 10:48everything, I mean everything. I mean rabbis, I mean teachers,
- 10:53I mean all that, right? I'm in a position that years ago
- 10:57some of my I would not have had. I can't.
- 10:59Maybe it's because of my father's son, but it's also
- 11:01because the world is more productive and a person like
- 11:04myself has to see that and be aware of that and not think of
- 11:08themselves in a certain light because they're younger than the
- 11:12most and younger than those these positions would be as
- 11:15you're. Using this parents every day you
- 11:17yeah, but every day you learn something different.
- 11:19Absolutely do absolutely and I'm not definitely not there yet.
- 11:22I definitely I I there's a lot more than I'll hopefully get to
- 11:25witness inshallah and it's a whole different picture and as
- 11:28years go on year by year, the whole and I in the sense the
- 11:32Torah he told just a different entity and the cardboard should
- 11:35be based on that. That's the point.
- 11:37When I from here we learn you call me Nekovo.
- 11:41We're going to all sorts of honour share sharla solahim that
- 11:45can be done to those represent Torah, share OU valdai la casil
- 11:49Garcia. Someone who wants to put Torah
- 11:53on a pedestal should give that kind of respect as much as he
- 11:57can to these kind of people. You should give respect to those
- 12:07Zeo E Shabbat mellahrida. For example, Sir, in King
- 12:10Shakevan Jayaru ET al Miraham, when he saw a rabba haya omed
- 12:15mikiso, he'll get up from his chair.
- 12:18I say rabbi. He'd hug the rabbi and give the
- 12:25rabbi a kiss. This is a king rabbi, Rabbi Mori
- 12:29Mori, my rabbi, my rabbi, my master, my master.
- 12:33An example of an extreme level of honor.
- 12:37Another example where honors played up 'cause she was too
- 12:43tired, too weak to learn. Isn't the Batman dash 2 weeks
- 12:47learn? What do you do when you're 2
- 12:50weeks learn? He put himself and say he puts
- 12:53up a chair to the door of the show.
- 12:58Every rabbi walks in, every colloga walks in.
- 13:01Every learning person walks in. He stands up, sits down, stands
- 13:05up, sits down. So he sat in that position right
- 13:08next to the door that he can stand up for people so he can
- 13:10give honor. If all he can do right now, you
- 13:12can't learn. If I can't learn, I can give
- 13:14honors. I have this question for you.
- 13:17That's my question. Why is 1 replacing the other?
- 13:21He wants to learn. He can't learn.
- 13:24Instead he decides to give honor.
- 13:25So you could say that was the option at the table at the time.
- 13:29What else can he do? But the truth is, is my answer,
- 13:33the best way of getting to Torah #1 is to learn.
- 13:38Number two, Number two way of getting towards Torah and
- 13:43getting action more to try on your system is respecting it.
- 13:46Because if you respect it, you value more.
- 13:48And then the next time you go back to learn, you take the
- 13:52words that you're going to hear and then you do hear and then
- 13:54you develop, you take them on a greater, more powerful level and
- 13:59you would have prior. So if he can't learn, he does
- 14:02second best, which is building up learning so that when he gets
- 14:05the next opportunity, he's going to take the words that he learns
- 14:07more seriously. It wasn't just a backup, it was
- 14:10another angle to the same approach.
- 14:11So so. So what's the?
- 14:14What does he use for respect? He's the.
- 14:17He'd sit there by the door and every rabbi walked in, he'd
- 14:20stand up for him and that would be in his mind, not realizing
- 14:24it. Rabbi's a big deal.
- 14:26Rabbi's a big deal. That was a big deal.
- 14:28You did this for your chosen, too.
- 14:29Are you respected, Robin? In front of your children, you
- 14:32didn't realize you were saying this.
- 14:33Robin's a big deal. When you asked someone a
- 14:35question, Robin's a big deal. When you went over after
- 14:37speaking, you said something. Robin's a big deal.
- 14:40It doesn't make a difference, by the way, if you had a comment to
- 14:42make, you had a compliment to make.
- 14:44You had an interest in repeating it doesn't really matter as long
- 14:46as you weren't highly cynical of a rabbi.
- 14:49Anything but that. That's challenging.
- 14:52Anything but that. He built up a rabbi.
- 14:54You didn't realize it. By making him part of the
- 14:56conversation. I'm bringing your home.
- 14:58By making him something that cuts in your Shabbat table, What
- 15:01he said, what he did, what happened.
- 15:04That already is making rabbis conversation and therefore
- 15:09making them important and building them up.
- 15:12That's the idea. Now to rabbis, rabbis the only
- 15:17is the goal just to be conversation.
- 15:18No, the goal is a you liked it to that too, but just bring them
- 15:22on a pedestal already found. It gets easier, all right, Gets
- 15:25on your way. The robbers should be good with
- 15:26the people though. It's for sure I've been with the
- 15:28people. That's absolutely just I'm.
- 15:30Very other way too. It was the other way.
- 15:42These are all ideas. He's all the ideas different
- 15:49ways and we can see these Asham wants.
- 15:56These are things Asham wants and these are things that God
- 16:01considers Naha through him. OK, once again to now we're
- 16:06talking about these things. So giving these items respect or
- 16:09people respect, or giving respect to things that Hashem
- 16:15likes. We all want to make our sham
- 16:18happy is we're giving respect to the right people, is giving
- 16:20respect to things that kind of values.
- 16:22It's important to build all these practices to give more
- 16:33respect to rabbis, to give more respect to, to give more respect
- 16:36to Shabbat, all these different things.
- 16:38Those are things that sham values and those are things that
- 16:41should become number one in your mind because they're valuing
- 16:45God's eyes. The idea is, is that priorities
- 16:48and what we care about and what we value are unbelievably
- 16:54significant. You can never downplay how
- 16:56important a priority is. Why?
- 16:58Because later on, like somewhere in life, someone is going to
- 17:01have a debate between one thing and the other.
- 17:03You expect the rabbi's word? Ignore his word.
- 17:08What's going to decide how much Rabbi's position matter to him
- 17:12in the 1st place? What is a rabbi to him?
- 17:15Respected Tada says or ignore it.
- 17:18The side based on how much Tada is part of also his life or how
- 17:23much it's a little bit antiquated to drop.
- 17:26Depends on that, right? Respect something he sees care
- 17:31about honesty or example or not. I basically secure a certain
- 17:35future over a different one. That's all I'm going to decide
- 17:37on. How much honesty is a thing in
- 17:39his home? I can give you a rationale.
- 17:43There's someone to tell you how being dishonest in different
- 17:46ways is perfectly kosher. You can do it in a Hoffy.
- 17:50He can be dishonest with the government.
- 17:51He can be dishonest with taxes, be dishonest with the law, be
- 17:54dishonest in business, and he can rationalize everything right
- 17:58and I've spoken to. Beautiful, I've spoken.
- 18:02To people who talk that way, and you know, it's funny, if you're
- 18:04in that conversation with them, you almost hear their point for
- 18:07a second. They go down this angle, down
- 18:09this road. Ready.
- 18:10The road is pay taxes. What's going to pay taxes but
- 18:15two with regularly if you all up and up, you know what they do
- 18:17with my money, They come you see what they're spending on you can
- 18:20justify anything. You could justify it the second
- 18:23they give your money to illegals.
- 18:25Look at the government. They give me into illegal and
- 18:26you can go down that road and before you know it and almost
- 18:30makes partial sense then oh good.
- 18:34Check out that guy's son. That guy's son is cheating,
- 18:37strangling and scamming all over the place.
- 18:39Why his father didn't really say anything that was so crazy on
- 18:43paper face value The answer is he chose dishonesty.
- 18:48He chooses honesty. Any angle there you go that's
- 18:52the rest right. I I know from my father.
- 18:54My father was almost I'd say like this almost like why you
- 18:59say this right away almost extreme and.
- 19:03Always do the. Black came honestly.
- 19:05I always do the right. He almost never bothered me,
- 19:08obviously, but it almost seemed like, you know, if he knew the
- 19:10real world and he knew how people do things, he wouldn't be
- 19:13that way. But that's how it was.
- 19:15And, and the reality is when you grow up and I grew up, I have so
- 19:19many opportunities to be dishonest.
- 19:21They all do. And if you're in any position of
- 19:24any control of money, you're with the all money.
- 19:26Well, your father was in business.
- 19:28And they said a batting, it was the straightest, a straight
- 19:30like. And I spoken to all the battens
- 19:33and they've they've told me, yeah.
- 19:35He's actually a straight as an arrow.
- 19:36It was a style of life and it played out.
- 19:39And where did it play out? It played out because whatever
- 19:42he's involved in, whether it be building a shul, the funds for a
- 19:46shul family, we all have these different challenges of money.
- 19:49And he's very, very honest. And to you never say the word to
- 19:53a fault, but to a complete level.
- 19:55And for me, I hope, I hope I can learn.
- 19:58I never face the challenges, but if I do.
- 20:01Nowhere to go. You told you had to do the right
- 20:03thing. I always do the right thing.
- 20:06You chose your. Priorities, right?
- 20:07Forever. It's not bad people, exactly.
- 20:09That's called choosing your priorities so that the idea
- 20:11beside the shame is telling you, you don't realize how much you
- 20:15giving respect to something. We're valuing something and
- 20:17giving it. You know, a high on your list
- 20:20made not on the list makes a crazy difference to you your
- 20:24future life. I definitely have chosen like
- 20:27whether it be Rabbi, Shabbat, honesty, Tiffila, whatever it
- 20:31may be, it carries with. Let's start with this.
