- 0:53Speaker 4: nine p fifteen to talk all things New Orleans Saints.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Patrick Wright, voice of Your Lady Tigers, will hop on
- 0:58Speaker 4: with us.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Not only did Patrick do the women's.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Basketball game on Saturday night, he did all three Friday,
- 1:04Speaker 4: Saturday Sunday of LSU's opening weekends. We got a lot
- 1:07Speaker 4: to discuss with him. He will come on with us
- 1:10Speaker 4: at eight thirty. But let's get a little bit of
- 1:12Speaker 4: a vibe check this morning. I mean, it's a Tuesday.
- 1:15Speaker 4: We always say on No TV we turned Tuesday from
- 1:17Speaker 4: the worst day of the week to the best day
- 1:19Speaker 4: of the week. Alandra, how we do in this morning good?
- 1:22Speaker 5: I'm a little concerned because nobody has volunteered to do
- 1:25Speaker 5: the women's basketball game tonight and it's an eight pm tip,
- 1:30Speaker 5: I know, And I'm not trying to do an eight
- 1:32Speaker 5: pm tip.
- 1:33Speaker 3: No, No, did the APM tip last week?
- 1:36Speaker 6: I know?
- 1:37Speaker 5: No, I did it the women's basketball.
- 1:40Speaker 4: No, the men's The men's was at APM tip. They
- 1:42Speaker 4: were both at eight pm.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Oh my god, I did an eight pm tip for
- 1:46Speaker 5: women's basketball. I don't remember who they played. Man, Maybe
- 1:49Speaker 5: it wasn't last.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Both at APM. Jeezus, maybe it was the week before
- 1:52Speaker 3: APM tip off.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Should be illegal, though, Like, let's you just let's just
- 1:55Speaker 4: put that out there and like it sucks because like,
- 1:58Speaker 4: no matter who does it, whether it's me, Brian or Jeff,
- 2:02Speaker 4: we all have the exact same shift. Like their morning's
- 2:06Speaker 4: Brian's Morning show, Jeff Everett Louisiana Radio Network US here
- 2:10Speaker 4: we do the same show.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Like it's just it's it's it's not good. It's not good.
- 2:16Speaker 5: I'm trying to think when it was or what game
- 2:17Speaker 5: it was. It was like a Thursday, they had an eight.
- 2:19Speaker 4: PM I remember that. So that was two weeks two
- 2:22Speaker 4: weeks ago, I believe so, because I.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Don't think they. I don't think ell She played it.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Women's played a midweek this week, didn't they.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I think they had that long week and then they
- 2:29Speaker 4: played South Carolina Saturday instead of Sunday. Yeah, but whatever,
- 2:33Speaker 4: mid week games suck and midweek eight pm games are awful.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Which speaking of, remember last last season for baseball, I.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Did a midweek Nichols game. Okay, Nichols is coming up.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Nichols is coming up?
- 2:49Speaker 5: Wait, do you remember that? And it was like the
- 2:50Speaker 5: longest game ever because Nichols beat Ellis.
- 2:53Speaker 4: That's the one that got rescheduled, right, like it was
- 2:55Speaker 4: initially in Nichols and they moved it because it was
- 2:58Speaker 4: like fifteen degrees or something.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Yeah, and they moved it later into the year and
- 3:01Speaker 5: then we lost. Okay, if I remember correctly.
- 3:05Speaker 3: No, that sounds right because it it.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Feels like one of the ones where it was like
- 3:08Speaker 5: we dropped a midweek to Nichols and everybody was like oh.
- 3:11Speaker 4: And it was also like halfway through the year, like
- 3:13Speaker 4: it wasn't early in the season either, So people were Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 4: people were losing their minds. No, that was that was Nichols,
- 3:18Speaker 4: That was Nicklas. Yeah, it got it got rescheduled.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Because it either went to extras or it like dragged
- 3:25Speaker 5: on forever because they kept scoring.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It was something and it was.
- 3:28Speaker 4: I think that was a game they threw like eight
- 3:29Speaker 4: pitchers last year. Yeah, I think I think that's what
- 3:32Speaker 4: it was. Braxton.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Now we do and doing good, doing good. Did you
- 3:35Speaker 3: catch any of the game last night? I know you were.
- 3:37Speaker 4: You had a long one yesterday. You were here till
- 3:40Speaker 4: afr you were here till.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Six about six thirty.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I'd say no, thanks, no, thanks, by the way, thanks
- 3:46Speaker 4: for picking that up because I was going to pick
- 3:48Speaker 4: that up if you did not. So, uh shout out
- 3:51Speaker 4: to you guys. A little disappointed with Scream Unseen last night.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Be very honest with you. The movie was good.
- 3:57Speaker 3: It was how to Make a Killing with the Glenn.
- 4:00Speaker 3: It comes out.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I believe this Friday, either this Friday or this Saturday,
- 4:05Speaker 4: great movie.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Like I really enjoyed it.
- 4:07Speaker 4: So the plot of it is he is like the
- 4:09Speaker 4: distant relative of a really rich family called the Red Fellows,
- 4:13Speaker 4: and there's like a fortune and it's all gonna get
- 4:15Speaker 4: passed down, you know, to a bunch of different people,
- 4:17Speaker 4: and he decided one day he wants the fortune to himself,
- 4:21Speaker 4: so he's gonna pick off his other family members one
- 4:23Speaker 4: by one, but you know, make it look like an accident.
- 4:26Speaker 3: It was a good movie.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I don't really know why it was called Scream Unseen,
- 4:30Speaker 4: like there was really nothing remotely scary about it, but
- 4:32Speaker 4: it was a good one.
- 4:33Speaker 3: We enjoyed it. When it comes out, go see it.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I don't really remember anybody else in the movie as
- 4:40Speaker 4: far as like big name people, but Glenn Pawell did
- 4:42Speaker 4: a good job. And of course he's in a big
- 4:43Speaker 4: time movie because well that's that's all he ever does,
- 4:47Speaker 4: is h is getting big time movies. So that was
- 4:50Speaker 4: a lot of fun last night. We'll probably do it again.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Got home good time. I mean I go to home
- 4:56Speaker 4: nine to fifteen from a nine o'clock movie because he
- 4:58Speaker 4: was right down the road, so not terribly late. We uh,
- 5:02Speaker 4: we had everything done pretty early yesterday anyway, So good
- 5:05Speaker 4: time there at Scream Unseen.
- 5:07Speaker 3: If you haven't done that, go do it.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I think they do it once a month at amc
- 5:10Speaker 4: over there own O'Neil and then movie Tavern does one,
- 5:12Speaker 4: but it's all genres. It's not just a scream on scene.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It's mystery movie Monday. So it's fun me and Victoria.
- 5:18Speaker 4: This is our fourth time doing it and we've had
- 5:21Speaker 4: a great time every single time we've done it. A
- 5:24Speaker 4: little bit of bad news to get to or sad news,
- 5:27Speaker 4: I should say real.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Quick before you get to that.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I looked it up.
- 5:31Speaker 5: It was Nichols and I remember this too, but I
- 5:35Speaker 5: was like, please let it be a run rule. It
- 5:38Speaker 5: was a run roll and seven innings, and none other
- 5:45Speaker 5: than William Schmidt was out on the mound to start,
- 5:48Speaker 5: I remember, and then.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Send us a text and OTV Chad.
- 5:51Speaker 4: You're like, I'd like a run rule and we were like,
- 5:52Speaker 4: well you didn't specify which teams.
- 5:55Speaker 5: You gotta be real careful when you're asking for something.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah, So that was when Schmid just like God, his
- 6:02Speaker 4: control was all over the place.
- 6:03Speaker 3: That was That was at that point last year.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Five hits.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I think he had a lot of walks though too didn't.
- 6:09Speaker 5: He actually no walks, but three strikeouts. Five hits that
- 6:12Speaker 5: did him dirty. O Co and DJ Primo came in,
- 6:16Speaker 5: walked to Jayden Newt walked to.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Okay, I remember this game now. Yeah, nobody had it
- 6:22Speaker 4: that night.
- 6:22Speaker 5: No, who's the final thirteen to three man? Yeah, okay,
- 6:29Speaker 5: they got it this year.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah, hopefully it's not thirteen to three tomorrow.
- 6:31Speaker 5: I mean they won versus them. I think like later
- 6:34Speaker 5: on or something.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah, they played, they played twice. Yeah, god, thirteen to three.
- 6:38Speaker 4: That's that's ugly there. Maybe that wasn't the reschedule. One
- 6:42Speaker 4: of them was rescheduled. Whichever one was later in the
- 6:45Speaker 4: year was rescheduled.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I think that one was the early one because it
- 6:48Speaker 5: was cool. I remember it was cool.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like it was supposed to be at Nickels.
- 6:51Speaker 4: It was like twenty degrees or something. By first bitch
- 6:53Speaker 4: they canceled it. Yeah, So anyway, it's a little bit
- 6:57Speaker 4: of a sad news to start the show. Obviously, you
- 7:00Speaker 4: guys know, we got this Jonathan mox in Jersey on
- 7:04Speaker 4: on the desk right now, and that's because they're going
- 7:06Speaker 4: Thursday James Vanderbeet or Wednesday evening. But we we talked
- 7:09Speaker 4: about on Thursday James Vanderbeek passed away. Well, yesterday afternoon
- 7:13Speaker 4: I saw the news around one o'clock. I'm not I'm
- 7:16Speaker 4: not sure when it exactly broke. Robert Davall, legendary actor,
- 7:20Speaker 4: passed away yesterday at the age of ninety five. Very
- 7:25Speaker 4: rarely do you get to use the term like icon
- 7:29Speaker 4: and be correct. Robert Deavall is an icon. I mean,
- 7:32Speaker 4: think think about some of the roles he played. He
- 7:34Speaker 4: was Tom Hagen, the family friend and the godfather, one
- 7:37Speaker 4: of his best roles, one of his earlier roles. I mean,
- 7:39Speaker 4: I'll always remember him as Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove.
- 7:43Speaker 4: If you've never seen Lonesome Dove, I don't know what
- 7:45Speaker 4: you're doing. Go check it out. I mean, he's in
- 7:47Speaker 4: open range with Kevin Costner, Like, think about the roles
- 7:49Speaker 4: he's in kicking in, screaming. He's Will Ferrell's angry sports
- 7:55Speaker 4: crazed dad who kicks his nephew off the team.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Even Will Ferrell have.
- 7:59Speaker 4: The back and forth with Like, that's a little bit
- 8:01Speaker 4: of a lighter hearted role for Robert Davall, but it's
- 8:04Speaker 4: a great role. Nonetheless, it shows his range, Like honestly
- 8:08Speaker 4: my favorite, Like everyone talks about Secondhand Lions and Ben
- 8:11Speaker 4: Michael Kaine, great movie. He's in Gone in sixty Seconds.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I know Jacob Ester's seen that one because that's a
- 8:16Speaker 4: Nicholas Cage flick. I think of Robert Davall probably a
- 8:22Speaker 4: little bit differently than most people do, like the first
- 8:24Speaker 4: movie that comes to mind, and maybe it's because I
- 8:26Speaker 4: watch it once a year, but for Christmases, Robert Davall,
- 8:30Speaker 4: if you remember, in that movie, plays Vince Vaughan's dad.
- 8:35Speaker 4: When they're bouncing around from Christmas to Christmas. It's one
- 8:37Speaker 4: of the first houses they go to and it's Robert
- 8:40Speaker 4: Daval and Jon Favreau and Tim McGraw are the two
- 8:43Speaker 4: older brothers, Dallas and Denver. And then you have Vince Vaughan,
- 8:46Speaker 4: who we learned's real name is Orlando in that movie,
- 8:49Speaker 4: and Robert Daval is like, oh, well, you.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Were named after the city you were conceived.
- 8:52Speaker 4: It's it's my favorite Robert Deaval role. He's hilarious. Vince
- 8:56Speaker 4: Vaughan's on the roof he bought in the brand new,
- 8:58Speaker 4: fancy satellite. He's like, there's not the wrong with my
- 9:01Speaker 4: old TV and just start yelling at him. Vince Vaughan
- 9:04Speaker 4: falls off the roof and the satellites hanging back cord
- 9:08Speaker 4: and Robert Daval's like, that's it, that's it, that's the
- 9:10Speaker 4: perfect picture. That's the one I one, and it looks
- 9:12Speaker 4: the same as as TV did before they even hooked
- 9:15Speaker 4: up the satellite, and in classic fashion. But I mean
- 9:17Speaker 4: just so many, like so many movies you can go through.
- 9:20Speaker 4: We could spend this entire shot like the Natural Roy
- 9:23Speaker 4: Hobbs and Robert Redford in that movie Days of Thunder.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I mean, there's so many movies out there that you
- 9:31Speaker 4: could look at. And Robert Deaval is anonymous with It's,
- 9:35Speaker 4: i mean, the end of an era and ninety five
- 9:38Speaker 4: years old. You want to talk about a heck of
- 9:40Speaker 4: a life, Robert Deval one of those lives. We're gonna
- 9:45Speaker 4: we'll cut the opening segment a little short here. When
- 9:48Speaker 4: we get back, we'll break down LSU baseball. They got
- 9:51Speaker 4: a big win over Kent State. And then a little
- 9:53Speaker 4: bit later on Mina Landra are gonna we're gonna see
- 9:55Speaker 4: how correct Haunt Palmer may be. So on Friday before
- 9:59Speaker 4: first Pitch, he put out five bold predictions for the
- 10:02Speaker 4: twenty twenty six LSU baseball season. One week in we'll
- 10:06Speaker 4: see if it's gonna be accurate or not. In those
- 10:08Speaker 4: five bold predictions. We'll do all that a little bit later.
- 10:10Speaker 4: But all that coming up. You're on off the bench.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 10:18Speaker 3: They don't have issues. They don't have any issues. I
- 10:21Speaker 3: actually have any issues.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I actually think like tomorrow is maybe the best dose
- 10:27Speaker 6: Taki's day. You're gonna have a great meal and you're
- 10:30Speaker 6: gonna have football for the rest of the day with
- 10:33Speaker 6: no other responsibilities, right, I mean, feed up watching some
- 10:38Speaker 6: ball with some family and friends around to go for dose.
- 10:42Speaker 6: Come on, I mean, it's it's right there. It makes
- 10:45Speaker 6: all the sense in the world. You're going to have
- 10:48Speaker 6: a utopic experience when you go for.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Dose on Thanksgiving. That's right, it's uh. You kick your
- 10:52Speaker 2: fee up and then look, we got got so much
- 10:55Speaker 2: football weekend. We got egg Bowl, we got Tigers, we
- 10:59Speaker 2: got Saints, got everything. So make sure it's a dose
- 11:01Speaker 2: Sekis type of weekend. Make sure you get it today
- 11:03Speaker 2: because stores probably closed tomorrow. So make sure you're getting
- 11:06Speaker 2: your dose Sechies today. Get it in the fridge, get
- 11:08Speaker 2: in the nice just get it ready for you and
- 11:09Speaker 2: your family. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all, go go for dose Seckies.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Everybody gets me down.
- 11:47Speaker 5: You got it. Cop I'll see the.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Tomas Tigers turn talkers. This is off the bench.
- 12:01Speaker 6: We all know hard work not just a slogan, it's
- 12:03Speaker 6: a way of life, and that's exactly what you get
- 12:05Speaker 6: with PALA. Founded right here in Louisiana, prouably one hundred
- 12:08Speaker 6: percent employee owned, something we always want to.

- 12:39Speaker 6: of companies at Pallergroup dot com. That's pa La Group
- 12:43Speaker 6: dot com. Palagroup dot com.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Yes, well, they say that.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Famous and notable people when when one passes away, it
- 12:57Speaker 4: comes in threes, and he does it one hundred. Literally
- 13:02Speaker 4: just informed me of this like two minutes ago. Jesse Jackson,
- 13:05Speaker 4: civil rights leader, politician, minister, a man that wears many hats.
- 13:10Speaker 4: He has passed away at the age of eighty four.
- 13:13Speaker 4: It looks like CNN put this out about an hour ago,
- 13:16Speaker 4: so right before we came on air, Jesse Jackson gone
- 13:20Speaker 4: at the age of eighty four.
- 13:21Speaker 5: So it's four because Catherine O'Hara died.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's true. Is it gonna be fours now? I?
- 13:30Speaker 6: Oh no?
- 13:31Speaker 3: I thought three was sane, right.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Well, Rest in peace of Jesse Jackson. Rest in peace
- 13:36Speaker 4: to Robert Devall as well. No easy transition out of that.
- 13:41Speaker 4: But before we get into baseball, let's go ahead and
- 13:45Speaker 4: get this show started.
- 13:48Speaker 1: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go Flow ivy spa,
- 13:51Speaker 1: where hydration vitamins and a summer ready glow are always
- 13:55Speaker 1: on SAP now for starters.
- 14:01Speaker 4: So, your LSU baseball team took down Kent State last
- 14:05Speaker 4: night by a score of ten to seven. And if
- 14:07Speaker 4: you didn't watch the game, you're gonna look at that
- 14:08Speaker 4: ten to seven score and be like, well, LSU really struggled.
- 14:12Speaker 4: First thing, LSU had two bad innings, that's all it was. Second,
- 14:17Speaker 4: look at the number. I mean we broke down yesterday.
- 14:20Speaker 4: What Kent State did over the weekend. They scored thirty
- 14:22Speaker 4: three runs against a pretty decent Southeastern Lions baseball team
- 14:25Speaker 4: over the weekend and swept all three of those games.
- 14:27Speaker 4: This is a Kent State team that knows how to
- 14:30Speaker 4: put up runs. But when you go look at it
- 14:33Speaker 4: inning by inning, I mean LSU's cruising through the first
- 14:36Speaker 4: two innings. They put up one in the first, they
- 14:37Speaker 4: put up a three spot in the second, so it's
- 14:40Speaker 4: four to nothing going into the bottom of the third
- 14:43Speaker 4: or the top of the third. Jayde Nude has the start.
- 14:46Speaker 4: He's doing really well so far through the first two innings.
- 14:49Speaker 4: It just kind of collapsed on him in the third.
- 14:51Speaker 4: I mean his final stat line three innings pitched, gave
- 14:54Speaker 4: up three hits, three earned runs, three walks, four strikeouts.
- 14:58Speaker 4: But the first two innings he was really good. It
- 15:00Speaker 4: was it was at third inning, so it's it's four
- 15:03Speaker 4: to three at that point, but LSU plates three in
- 15:06Speaker 4: the bottom of the third to make it seven to three.
- 15:09Speaker 4: LSU cruises the rest of the way. I mean, it's
- 15:12Speaker 4: it's three straights innings where you scored a run and
- 15:15Speaker 4: you prevented Ken State from score to runs. You extended
- 15:18Speaker 4: ten to three at that point, and your bullpens looking
- 15:21Speaker 4: really good. After Jaden knut Ethan Plogg goes an inning,
- 15:25Speaker 4: no runs, no hits, strikes out, two walks. A guy,
- 15:29Speaker 4: Devon Shearing comes in, he continues to be electric. Elandra
- 15:32Speaker 4: mentioned him yesterday as one of the standout guys over
- 15:34Speaker 4: the weekend. I mean Devn Sheering one inning, two strikeouts,
- 15:38Speaker 4: no hits, and he came in there. He did what
- 15:40Speaker 4: he needed to do. Maverick Crazy an inning, no runs.
- 15:45Speaker 4: So I mean those three guys right there in that fourth,
- 15:46Speaker 4: fifth and sixth inning really settled things down for you
- 15:49Speaker 4: last night against the Golden Flashes. And in the seventh
- 15:52Speaker 4: inning you went to two guys and neither of them
- 15:55Speaker 4: had it. I mean that that's what it boiled down to.
- 15:57Speaker 4: You had a Dj Primo. He only goes a third
- 16:00Speaker 4: third of an inning, gives up two runs, a walk,
- 16:03Speaker 4: gets a strikeout, but then you pull him out to
- 16:06Speaker 4: the two runs you put in. Grant Fontna, Grant Fonto
- 16:09Speaker 4: got a save for you on Saturday.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Grant Fonda was good for you over the weekend. It
- 16:13Speaker 3: just wasn't last night again.
- 16:14Speaker 4: A third of an inning, three hits, two earned runs,
- 16:19Speaker 4: he was pulled. The good news is you've gone to
- 16:22Speaker 4: Gavin Guidry twice in big moments this weekend, and he
- 16:25Speaker 4: has came up huge in both spots. You go to
- 16:28Speaker 4: Gavin Guidry to get out of that seventh inning, he does,
- 16:31Speaker 4: and he shuts the door on Kent State. In the
- 16:34Speaker 4: eighth and ninth inning, he goes two and a third
- 16:37Speaker 4: five strikeouts, did not give up a hit obviously no
- 16:40Speaker 4: runs as well. Gavin Gidrey continues to be huge for
- 16:44Speaker 4: this baseball team. I have loved everything I have seen
- 16:47Speaker 4: from Gavin so far. When you look at kind of
- 16:51Speaker 4: how the scoring went for LSU, Jake Brown is a
- 16:55Speaker 4: bad bad man right now. Two home runs on Sunday,
- 16:58Speaker 4: including that Grand Slam that we talked about a little
- 17:00Speaker 4: bit yesterday. He launched two more homers last night again
- 17:03Speaker 4: for his second consecutive game. Mason Brawn the DH He
- 17:07Speaker 4: gets his first home run in a Tiger uniform. It
- 17:11Speaker 4: was a three run homer. In the second inning. First
- 17:13Speaker 4: baseman Zach Yorke he gets a solo shot. He had
- 17:16Speaker 4: a home run on Friday, his first swing of the
- 17:18Speaker 4: bat as a Tiger.
- 17:19Speaker 3: That's his second home run of the year.
- 17:21Speaker 4: And then I mentioned all the relief pitchers in this game,
- 17:25Speaker 4: going into that game yesterday, Mason Braun was one of
- 17:29Speaker 4: the guys I wanted to look at, but kind of
- 17:32Speaker 4: for a different reason. I wanted to see where they
- 17:34Speaker 4: were going to play Mason Braun in the field.
- 17:37Speaker 3: They did.
- 17:37Speaker 4: He wound up continuing to DH. But look at what
- 17:41Speaker 4: Mason Bron's hitting right now after last night. Mason Braun
- 17:44Speaker 4: batting three hundred pretty good for your your opening four
- 17:47Speaker 4: games in a college uniform. If he could lock down
- 17:51Speaker 4: that DH spot, that'd be huge for the rest of
- 17:54Speaker 4: the lineup because I know Jay likes the teinker here
- 17:57Speaker 4: and there and put a couple guys in different spots.
- 17:59Speaker 4: But if Mason Brawn locks down DH, your lineup's almost set.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You had Curio and batting in the leadoff spot again
- 18:06Speaker 4: last night. Derek Curial is going to stay there. He
- 18:08Speaker 4: was one for four last night, but he's betting three
- 18:11Speaker 4: seventy five so far. That's who Derek Curiell is really
- 18:15Speaker 4: when you look at average wise, Steven Milam is the
- 18:18Speaker 4: everyday starter on your team that's struggling the most. And
- 18:21Speaker 4: it's kind of like we talked about yesterday when Zach
- 18:23Speaker 4: Collen struggle. I don't care if Steven Mylam struggling early
- 18:26Speaker 4: in the season because I've seen him be super clutch
- 18:29Speaker 4: for two years in a row. Now, not worried about
- 18:31Speaker 4: Steven Mylam. He's going to come around and as I say, struggle,
- 18:33Speaker 4: he's still hitting two sixty seven. That's just a little
- 18:35Speaker 4: bit lower than everybody else in the lineup. Obviously, Jake Brown,
- 18:39Speaker 4: I mean three for five last night, two more home runs,
- 18:42Speaker 4: two rbi. He had that six RBI, two home run
- 18:45Speaker 4: game on Sunday. So Jake Brown hottest hitter in baseball
- 18:49Speaker 4: right now, You'd be hard pressed to find anybody hotter,
- 18:52Speaker 4: cater and beat.
- 18:52Speaker 3: He's batting four to twelve again.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I'm going to continue to say this Seth Dardar is
- 18:58Speaker 4: going to lock down that spot at second base. He
- 18:59Speaker 4: played again last night. He went one for two. He's
- 19:01Speaker 4: betten four hundred through the first four games. The interesting
- 19:06Speaker 4: thing I saw last night, you know, Stanfield apparently has
- 19:09Speaker 4: this little lingering injury. It's nothing serious, as I gonna
- 19:12Speaker 4: keep him out long term. But Chris Stanfield did not
- 19:14Speaker 4: play last night, and it was actually Tanner Reeves who.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Got the start in left field.
- 19:18Speaker 4: I was wondering, are they gonna slide Mason Brawn in there,
- 19:21Speaker 4: he can play a little bit of outfield. Is it
- 19:23Speaker 4: gonna be one of the other younger guys. It was
- 19:25Speaker 4: Tanner Reeves, So they're moving him around a little bit,
- 19:28Speaker 4: and he delivered. Tanna Reeves goes two for four with
- 19:31Speaker 4: a run scored and RBI. He said in three, he
- 19:34Speaker 4: said in five hundred on the season. He was down
- 19:36Speaker 4: there in that eight hole last night, and he did
- 19:39Speaker 4: a nice job in the outfield. So the depth on
- 19:42Speaker 4: this team, pitching wise, fielding wise, it's incredible. And you know,
- 19:49Speaker 4: Elandra and Jake coming into the season had mentioned Jake
- 19:54Speaker 4: Brown as you know, a lot of people would throw
- 19:58Speaker 4: out Jake Brown, but I'll give them credit. They had
- 19:59Speaker 4: been Jake Brown is like, hey watch this guy. He's
- 20:03Speaker 4: oozing with the potential Malandra for the first four games.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Not bad overall for our guy, Jake Brown.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I mean, you can't really complain about all the home
- 20:12Speaker 5: runs that this man's hitting. But yeah, I mean it
- 20:15Speaker 5: was just kind of you could kind of see it
- 20:18Speaker 5: last season two and it was just kind of a
- 20:19Speaker 5: matter of time for him to like come into his
- 20:22Speaker 5: own and he's been with the program older vet and
- 20:27Speaker 5: we mentioned this. I think it was last week. He
- 20:30Speaker 5: would get playing time, but he never really had like
- 20:32Speaker 5: a chance to like really really.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Shine my position.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Yeah, but they played him at first a few times
- 20:37Speaker 4: then in right field he kind of bounced around.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 5: So yeah, great for Jake. Very happy for him. He
- 20:43Speaker 5: deserves it and he's worked hard. And he also is
- 20:46Speaker 5: another one that looks like he puts a muscle mass on.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yeah, he looks big.
- 20:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Hey, we talked about Curiell.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I think they said on I think McDonald said on
- 20:52Speaker 4: the broadcast twelve to thirteen pounds of Derek Kurial. I
- 20:54Speaker 4: wouldn't be surprised if it's the same.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Yeah, they're putting work in in the weight room.
- 21:00Speaker 3: You mentioned this, don't look cute like outside of Steven
- 21:03Speaker 3: Malum who I mean, but he's also jacked. Yeah, he's jack. Yeah,
- 21:06Speaker 3: he's just sure.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I mean my own jacked that he's one
- 21:09Speaker 4: of the best players on the team. But I and
- 21:11Speaker 4: Braxton were actually talking about it before the show started. Uh,
- 21:13Speaker 4: the energy that Loshue brings when Zach York simply steps
- 21:17Speaker 4: into the batter's box is electric.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Come about when he had that stolen base. Oh, we
- 21:23Speaker 3: got a touch.
- 21:23Speaker 4: From Malandra last night, big boy stolen bas I mean,
- 21:25Speaker 4: and and I had just just left the house.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I just missed it. Yeah, and uh, I looked down
- 21:31Speaker 3: on my phone. I was like, gotta be Zach York.
- 21:32Speaker 5: He made two really good catches at first base too.
- 21:35Speaker 5: He made a pick and then he had the one
- 21:38Speaker 5: where he had to like jump off the base to
- 21:40Speaker 5: get the ball but put his foot down in time
- 21:42Speaker 5: to get the out that I'm like, how is this
- 21:44Speaker 5: big old dude so agile? But also as someone who
- 21:48Speaker 5: was slow when I played softball, I was also a
- 21:51Speaker 5: really good bass runner, so like you could be slow
- 21:54Speaker 5: but still know.
- 21:54Speaker 3: How to run some of the bases.
- 21:56Speaker 5: And Lsu is four for four on stolen base s
- 22:00Speaker 5: attempts so far on the season.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Though like it was our ground. It was to the dirty,
- 22:04Speaker 3: so I mean he had a good head start if it.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Was a yeah, it was like a pass ball. Yeah,
- 22:10Speaker 5: but yeah, he I mean the fact that he can
- 22:13Speaker 5: hit like that but is also an elite first baseman.
- 22:16Speaker 5: We were so worried about Jerry Jones tried to tell y'all,
- 22:19Speaker 5: do not be worried. This man is He's gonna do
- 22:22Speaker 5: what he's got to do and love Zach York.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Zach York. People don't realize.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I believe it was nine to nine seven fielding position,
- 22:31Speaker 4: fielding nine three at Grand Canyon last year.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Like, think about how good that is.
- 22:38Speaker 4: A lot of people will see Zach York, they'll see
- 22:40Speaker 4: his his his build, I get it, and they'll be like, Oh,
- 22:43Speaker 4: he's gonna go in there, He's gonna dh for you.
- 22:44Speaker 4: He's gonna bat in the four hole. Yeah, that's it.
- 22:47Speaker 4: He's not gonna do much else for you. Like, Zach
- 22:49Speaker 4: York is a plus defender. I mean we just we
- 22:52Speaker 4: just threw that number at you, nine to nine three.
- 22:54Speaker 4: That's incredible. I mean there's there's not a lot of
- 22:55Speaker 4: first basement out there that have that number. So like,
- 22:58Speaker 4: don't let the build fool you on a guy like
- 23:01Speaker 4: Zach York. He has been incredible so far at first base.
- 23:04Speaker 4: And you know, so funny when you lose a guy
- 23:06Speaker 4: like Trey Morgan, like, in my opinion, still best defensive
- 23:09Speaker 4: first baseman LSU's ever had.
- 23:12Speaker 3: You think there's going to be a big hole there.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Jared Jones.
- 23:14Speaker 4: The jump he took from when Trey Morgan left to
- 23:16Speaker 4: his final year here at LSU.
- 23:18Speaker 3: To now Zach Yorke. It's it's a lot like third base.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Like we had talked about it with Jay Johnson at
- 23:24Speaker 4: third base after Jacob Barry left. Remember Jacob Barry came
- 23:27Speaker 4: in Jay's first year and maybe he was a one
- 23:30Speaker 4: and done. And then you bring in Tommy White. Everybody
- 23:32Speaker 4: saw Tommy White. He's a big guy. They were like, Okay,
- 23:36Speaker 4: he's gonna be your dah, she's gonna hit a lot
- 23:37Speaker 4: of homers for you. But Tommy White at third base,
- 23:40Speaker 4: and Tommy White's first year at third base, he was
- 23:42Speaker 4: an adequate third baseman.
- 23:43Speaker 3: He was he was solid.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Tommy White's last year at LSU, he saved and won
- 23:48Speaker 4: games for you over there at third base. He was
- 23:50Speaker 4: a plus defender at the hot corner. Jay Johnson has
- 23:53Speaker 4: a knack of bringing in these guys that he knows
- 23:55Speaker 4: can turn into something defensively, and it's a sight to see.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I mean, he's done it with your Jones.
- 24:00Speaker 4: It looks like Zach York, which Zach York was already
- 24:03Speaker 4: really good when he got here. He did it with
- 24:05Speaker 4: Tommy White. So when you see these guys in the field,
- 24:08Speaker 4: they're there for a reason. I mean, we talked about
- 24:10Speaker 4: the hitting of Mason Braun. Mason Braun was the number
- 24:12Speaker 4: one first baseman coming out of high school last year.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Mason Braun's good enough to play first base on this team.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Jay Johnson and staff just trusted Zach York that much
- 24:21Speaker 4: to go out there and do it, so they put
- 24:22Speaker 4: Mason Braun at DH like the athleticism of him and
- 24:26Speaker 4: what this staff is able to do with guys like that,
- 24:29Speaker 4: very very impressive. And again the LSU Tigers ten to
- 24:32Speaker 4: seven victory last night over the Kent State Flashes. They
- 24:35Speaker 4: will take one Nichols tomorrow night in Alec Box. I mean, yeah,
- 24:39Speaker 4: tomorrow night or tomorrow afternoon one pm. Yeah, I should
- 24:43Speaker 4: say one pm first pitch. Kind of an early midweek
- 24:45Speaker 4: game there, but we'll take a time out when we
- 24:48Speaker 4: get back on Palmer on Thursday leading up to the
- 24:52Speaker 4: opening weekend, put out five bold predictions for LSU baseball
- 24:56Speaker 4: in twenty twenty six. You can read it on Louisiana
- 24:57Speaker 4: Sports dot Net. Meanelandra going to go through those five
- 25:00Speaker 4: bold predictions, see if they're come true or what's hut

- 27:26Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in Tuesday edition of Off the
- 27:29Speaker 4: Bench Taylor Sharpy with you Elandra vill Real, Braxton Risuto, as.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Well Hunt Palmer.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Before the season, it was actually last Thursday on louisianasports
- 27:39Speaker 4: dot Net put out five bold predictions for LSU baseball
- 27:42Speaker 4: in twenty twenty six. Now they're bold for a reason,
- 27:45Speaker 4: but I'm gonna be honest, I was looking at these
- 27:47Speaker 4: last night. I think a couple of these bold predictions
- 27:49Speaker 4: may not be that bold anymore after the opening weekend,
- 27:52Speaker 4: and they might actually come true. The first one we'll
- 27:55Speaker 4: break down is the first one on his list. LSU
- 27:57Speaker 4: pitching leads the SEC and strike else through the regional round. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 4: Yski's two for two on that s LSU's led the
- 28:04Speaker 4: SEC and strikeouts both the Yearssky has been here, But
- 28:08Speaker 4: they don't have an individual pitcher in the top three
- 28:11Speaker 4: in the league. Okay in terms of strikeout so as
- 28:13Speaker 4: a staff they lead the league.
- 28:15Speaker 5: That act striking sense for what we have right now.
- 28:18Speaker 5: But I think Cooper Moore, I was about to say.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Is eleven k's per game? I don't, I don't, I
- 28:23Speaker 3: don't know, if U.
- 28:24Speaker 5: But also look out for Auburn.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Auburn.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Stabborn's pitching staff is always pretty good. Tennessee will always
- 28:31Speaker 5: give you a little bit of competition as well, But Auburn,
- 28:35Speaker 5: their pitching staff looks pretty good right now. I know
- 28:37Speaker 5: it's early in the season and they're playing like whatever teams,
- 28:41Speaker 5: which I'll say Kent State and Milwaukee Milwaukee less, but
- 28:45Speaker 5: Kent State is a really strip.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Thirty three runs against Southeastern, Yeah, and I don't care
- 28:51Speaker 4: that it's Southeastern, like they're only a pretty good baseball program,
- 28:53Speaker 4: But that's eleven runs a game over three game period.
- 28:56Speaker 4: He scored seven againstel Was Shoe last night, like they
- 28:58Speaker 4: were three and oh coming into that game. I do
- 29:00Speaker 4: like hunts description here though, or reasoning behind it. He said,
- 29:04Speaker 4: you know, Yeskey did it with lou Coleman, Gage Jump
- 29:06Speaker 4: and Griffin Hearing two years ago. Last season you had
- 29:08Speaker 4: Kate Anderson and Anthony Hyinson said. The difference is you
- 29:12Speaker 4: had two elite starters not quite the bullpen depth, because
- 29:16Speaker 4: right now it kind of looks like the opposite.
- 29:18Speaker 3: I mean you got cow and Rizzy here and Gavin Gidrey.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I mean, you know will.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Case and Evans remain a starter. Well he go back
- 29:24Speaker 4: to like, we'll see what happens there. But I mean
- 29:27Speaker 4: Cooper Williams if he's not a starter, So I kind of.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Agree with this, but I'm with you. Cooper Moore would
- 29:35Speaker 3: be the would.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Be I agree with it, but I would watch out
- 29:38Speaker 5: for Cooper more to definitely be one of the leaders.
- 29:42Speaker 4: All right, the second one on here. Four pitchers earned
- 29:45Speaker 4: multiple saves. I mean Gavin Gidrey got one last night
- 29:50Speaker 4: and Grant Father had one on Saturday. So I mean
- 29:53Speaker 4: we already got two pictures with a save. I could
- 29:56Speaker 4: see that happening because look, Sharon looks like he could
- 29:59Speaker 4: be dominant in the back end. We've seen font No
- 30:01Speaker 4: already do it. Gavin Gidry's going to be in the
- 30:04Speaker 4: close and role at some point, whether it's a setup
- 30:07Speaker 4: guy or that true closer Zach Cowen. I mean he
- 30:09Speaker 4: did this a number of times last year, he didn't
- 30:12Speaker 4: really do much in the first weekend. You didn't ask
- 30:14Speaker 4: him to do that much either, But Zach Cowan's a
- 30:16Speaker 4: guy that could come in in high leverage situations.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I think that I think that this actually does come true.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 30:22Speaker 4: I don't know about you, but I actually think four
- 30:24Speaker 4: pitchers will earn multiple saves.
- 30:26Speaker 5: I mean, we just threw out three again because of
- 30:29Speaker 5: the first one that we said, Like, the depth is
- 30:32Speaker 5: a lot different on this team than it's been.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I can see that happening too.
- 30:36Speaker 5: It's already like Gavin Guidry, didn't he get one on
- 30:40Speaker 5: one last night? Well, I know he got one last night.
- 30:42Speaker 5: Did he get it on Friday or no?
- 30:44Speaker 3: He may have? I know font no got it on Saturday,
- 30:48Speaker 3: went out earlier Friday. That's true.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you're right, he was. He was one of
- 30:52Speaker 4: the first ones else who got it last year.
- 30:53Speaker 5: Either way, I think that, yes, that can that can happen.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Third one not really a ball prediction anymore because of
- 31:01Speaker 4: what we saw on Saturday. Cooper more will get ten
- 31:03Speaker 4: sec starts. Yes, as long as Cooper Moore is healthy,
- 31:05Speaker 4: he's going to be a starter in this rotation. Is
- 31:08Speaker 4: it always Saturday. Is it Friday or Sunday, doesn't matter.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Cooper Moore is going to start.
- 31:12Speaker 3: On this team.
- 31:13Speaker 4: I mean, you saw what he did in Kansas last year,
- 31:15Speaker 4: really strong in the preseason. Like that's a guy that
- 31:18Speaker 4: Jay Johnson talked about and raved about him every chance
- 31:21Speaker 4: he got going into the season. It's one of the
- 31:24Speaker 4: reasons a lot of people were so confident that Cooper
- 31:26Speaker 4: Moore was going to be a starter in this rotation
- 31:28Speaker 4: because you knew about Cason Evans, you knew he was
- 31:30Speaker 4: going to get.
- 31:31Speaker 3: His shot to start.
- 31:32Speaker 4: And Jay Johnson anytime was asked about starting pitching, Cooper
- 31:36Speaker 4: Moore one of the first names out of his mouth
- 31:37Speaker 4: every single time. When every time a coacher does that,
- 31:40Speaker 4: you know the guy's making an impact out there in
- 31:42Speaker 4: the fall scrimmages. And it showed up week number one.
- 31:45Speaker 4: So I mean, I think I think that one's a given.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Cooper More.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Cooper More will make ten sec starts. I don't think
- 31:50Speaker 4: there's any question about that. Okay, here's the next one.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Here's where I think haunts wrong. And I agreed with him.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I read this on Friday when he put it. I
- 32:00Speaker 4: agreed with him on Friday I don't now LSU will
- 32:03Speaker 4: have six guys hit ten or more home runs, but
- 32:07Speaker 4: will not have a player hit twenty. I was with
- 32:10Speaker 4: him going into the season, but hell, if Jake Brown
- 32:14Speaker 4: can keep doing what he's doing. He's got four in
- 32:16Speaker 4: the last two games. And I get it, it's it's
- 32:19Speaker 4: Milwaukee and Kent State. The competition is gonna get better.
- 32:22Speaker 4: But he's there. I mean, he's right there at four
- 32:25Speaker 4: right now after the opening weekend.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Jake Brown's on pace to do that. Does he get
- 32:31Speaker 3: to twenty, we'll see.
- 32:33Speaker 4: I mean, Alandra last segment mentioned how he looks like
- 32:35Speaker 4: he's gained weight, he looks like he's got more power,
- 32:37Speaker 4: and he was a guy that you know was already
- 32:39Speaker 4: a pretty good hitter a year ago.
- 32:41Speaker 3: The thing with Jake Brown, remember last.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Year, all they talked about was Jake Brown struggles against
- 32:46Speaker 4: left handers. That's what everybody said. That's why he wasn't
- 32:48Speaker 4: in there in the lineup. Right now, I believe he's one.
- 32:50Speaker 4: He's only facing a few left hand He's won for
- 32:52Speaker 4: two against lefties of this year. If Jake Brown can
- 32:55Speaker 4: figure that out, he's going to be in this lineup
- 32:57Speaker 4: every single day. I think Jake could hit twenty at
- 33:01Speaker 4: least so far after what we've seen through the first
- 33:04Speaker 4: four games of the season. Now I agree, I think
- 33:07Speaker 4: there's ten guys that hit the that hit the ten
- 33:10Speaker 4: home run Mark Alandra mentioned did last week. Well you know,
- 33:12Speaker 4: she kind of brought up the moneyball phrase. I saw
- 33:15Speaker 4: Hunt do that on Friday as well. It makes a
- 33:17Speaker 4: lot of sense because you don't necessarily have to replace
- 33:20Speaker 4: Jared Jones with a guy that's going to hit twenty plus.
- 33:23Speaker 4: But Stephen Mylom could do it. He could get to ten.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Zach York probably will get to ten. Look at what
- 33:28Speaker 4: Kate Aaron Beatie's doing so far. We just mentioned Jake Brown,
- 33:31Speaker 4: Seth A. Dardar has some pop in his bat. We've
- 33:34Speaker 4: seen that come to fruition here early on. Mason Brawn
- 33:37Speaker 4: got his first home run last night. He's got power.
- 33:40Speaker 4: And then you know Derek Curiell. People kind of forget
- 33:43Speaker 4: last year how many home runs he actually hit, just
- 33:46Speaker 4: because you see him at the top of the lineup.
- 33:48Speaker 4: He's a slender guy, he's a freshman. You're like, Okay,
- 33:50Speaker 4: this guy, he's a speedy guy, is gonna get hit
- 33:52Speaker 4: for contact. He's gonna get on base. Derek Curiell hits
- 33:55Speaker 4: six home runs last season as a freshman, and he's
- 33:58Speaker 4: put on thirteen pounds of muscle. Why can't he improve
- 34:01Speaker 4: by four home runs. I don't see why Derek Kuriele
- 34:03Speaker 4: can't do that. I think that's actually likely to happen.
- 34:06Speaker 4: I think Derek curiel does get two double digit home runs.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I mean, I could totally see six guys getting to
- 34:12Speaker 4: that ten home run mark. The thing is, though, so
- 34:16Speaker 4: Hunt's half right on this. Jay Brown could get to twenty.
- 34:19Speaker 4: If he keeps hitting the way he is, he is
- 34:21Speaker 4: going to eclipse that twenty home run mark.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And you kind of need a player like that.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Like, look, I'm all for of the six guys with
- 34:27Speaker 4: ten plus home runs because like a home runs a
- 34:29Speaker 4: home run, it doesn't really matter who hits it. But
- 34:31Speaker 4: when you got that one guy that you know when
- 34:33Speaker 4: you need a big hit can come through. If that
- 34:35Speaker 4: guy turns out to be Jake Brown, that makes this
- 34:37Speaker 4: lineup that much more dangerous. I think everybody one through nine,
- 34:40Speaker 4: regardless of who's in there, where they're at in the
- 34:43Speaker 4: lineup's going to be able to hit. I think Jay's
- 34:45Speaker 4: put together a deep enough roster to where you don't
- 34:47Speaker 4: have to worry about or is there really a quote
- 34:49Speaker 4: unquote week point in the lineup so far through the season.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Not really. But if you have that.
- 34:54Speaker 4: One guy in your lineup to go along with all
- 34:56Speaker 4: those good hitters that I mean opposing batters, fee you
- 35:00Speaker 4: can take one over the fence at just the swing
- 35:03Speaker 4: of a bat, then that makes your lineup that much
- 35:05Speaker 4: more dangerous. That way, you can pick and choose where
- 35:08Speaker 4: you put Jake Brown. You can slide him in there
- 35:09Speaker 4: and be like, oh, we can bat him in the
- 35:11Speaker 4: four hole, we can put him at the five. Jay
- 35:13Speaker 4: likes to have a power bat in the two hole
- 35:15Speaker 4: a lot of times. If you could move him around
- 35:17Speaker 4: and he can keep doing that, that'd be huge for
- 35:19Speaker 4: your teams. I think I do think LSU gets six
- 35:21Speaker 4: guys that hit ten home runs, but Jake Brown could
- 35:24Speaker 4: be that player to get to twenty. And then the
- 35:27Speaker 4: final prediction Hunt had Mason Braun will get more than
- 35:32Speaker 4: three postseason at bats. Now, I'll give our guy a
- 35:35Speaker 4: little bit of a pass here because you're probably thinking, well, yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 4: that seems obvious.
- 35:39Speaker 3: I mean, he started day one, and d H.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Hunt said, I do think he's got a chance to
- 35:46Speaker 4: become a left handed bullet on this team.
- 35:48Speaker 3: He said.
- 35:49Speaker 4: If he starts opening weekend, then the boldness of this
- 35:53Speaker 4: prediction takes a hit.
- 35:55Speaker 3: He said.
- 35:55Speaker 4: It's thirty hours before the lineup cards turned in. I
- 35:58Speaker 4: don't know if Braun will be in it. If he is,
- 36:00Speaker 4: the boldness kind of goes away. If not, watch out
- 36:03Speaker 4: for Mason Braun is a weapon coming off the bench
- 36:05Speaker 4: for this team. Mason Brown's gonna get more than three
- 36:08Speaker 4: post season at bats because I think Mason Bron's gonna
- 36:10Speaker 4: be your everyday DH if all things holt. He's been
- 36:13Speaker 4: in that spot for multiple games now. He looks really good.
- 36:16Speaker 4: And again I mentioned it on Monday. He's a guy
- 36:20Speaker 4: that could play in the outfield. He's a guy that
- 36:22Speaker 4: could play for He was the number one first baseman
- 36:24Speaker 4: in high school baseball last year. He can move around
- 36:27Speaker 4: a little bit, So han't forbid somebody goes down with
- 36:30Speaker 4: an injury.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I'll slide in there to first. You can move somebody
- 36:33Speaker 3: else around.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I can slide out there to the outfield, move somebody
- 36:35Speaker 4: else around, and he can DH. He's gonna get more
- 36:38Speaker 4: than three postseason and bats provided he stays healthy. I
- 36:41Speaker 4: don't think there's any question about that. So what Hunt
- 36:44Speaker 4: got right? Mason Bron's gonna get more than three postseason
- 36:48Speaker 4: and bats. I think he's half right. I think six
- 36:51Speaker 4: guys will hit ten home runs, but I think Jake
- 36:52Speaker 4: Brown could make that twenty home run mark. We'll see
- 36:54Speaker 4: how that falls. Cooper Moore is going to make ten
- 36:57Speaker 4: sec starts provided that he's healthy. The pitchers can earn
- 37:00Speaker 4: multiple saves. The one to me the boldest the LSU
- 37:06Speaker 4: leads the league in strikeouts but does not have an
- 37:09Speaker 4: individual pitcher in the top three. Elandra mentioned watch out
- 37:13Speaker 4: for Auburn. They got a deep staff and LSU does
- 37:15Speaker 4: as well. But the way Cooper Williams or Cooper Moore's playing,
- 37:19Speaker 4: if he continues that throughout the year, he can go
- 37:21Speaker 4: six innings seven innings get you multiple strikeouts. I get
- 37:24Speaker 4: the competition is gonna get tougher, but he was really
- 37:26Speaker 4: good all last season in Kansas. There's a chance that
- 37:29Speaker 4: if this staff is as good as it could be,
- 37:31Speaker 4: Cooper Moore's also in there in the top three strikeouts.
- 37:34Speaker 4: So again, that's one that's kind of half right. But
- 37:36Speaker 4: you know, I was looking at this last night. I
- 37:38Speaker 4: originally saw it on Friday before the season started. Now
- 37:41Speaker 4: I wanted to revisit it because it was like, you know,
- 37:43Speaker 4: these probably were bold before the opening weekend, and I
- 37:46Speaker 4: don't like to do much of an overreaction. I just
- 37:48Speaker 4: kind of wanted to look on where things sit as
- 37:50Speaker 4: one weekend happens. But I was looking at it and
- 37:52Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't know how bold these are anymore.
- 37:55Speaker 4: I mean, I think a lot of these are are
- 37:57Speaker 4: kind of right on the money. We'll see if they hold,
- 37:59Speaker 4: but uh, not bad right there as far as the
- 38:01Speaker 4: bold predictions go. All right, we'll take a time out
- 38:04Speaker 4: when we get back. LSU announced the new partnership. As
- 38:07Speaker 4: far as the Jersey patch goes, we'll quickly talk about
- 38:10Speaker 4: that next Here on Off the Bench.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Off the Bench, from the locker room to the airwaves,
- 38:19Speaker 1: gets Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Welcome back in final segment, Hour number one.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Here on a Tuesday edition of Off the Bench, Tyler Sharp,
- 38:34Speaker 4: but lundra Villa, Rial Braxton, Rizzuto here hanging out with
- 38:37Speaker 4: you a year this morning. LSU Athletics announced yesterday there's
- 38:44Speaker 4: a new official legacy partner of LSU Athletics and it's
- 38:46Speaker 4: Woodside Energy. So Woodside Energy that logo, it's going to
- 38:50Speaker 4: be on all twenty one of LSU's competition apparel. And
- 38:55Speaker 4: if you know anything about Woodside they're offshore energy. They've
- 38:58Speaker 4: been working offshore in Louisiana for over two decades and
- 39:02Speaker 4: they just they pour a lot of money into the state.
- 39:05Speaker 4: They just finished the seventeen and a half billion dollar
- 39:07Speaker 4: investment decision on its Louisiana LNNG projects. So they, more
- 39:12Speaker 4: than anyone, want to see this state thrive. And Mat
- 39:15Speaker 4: Muscoon on AFR actually did like a thirty minute sit
- 39:18Speaker 4: down with one of the members of Woodside Energy yesterday
- 39:21Speaker 4: gave you the whole spiel.
- 39:22Speaker 3: You can go back on.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Twitter, Facebook, AFR, YouTube, any channel like that and go
- 39:28Speaker 4: watch that full, full interview there with Woodside Energy. A
- 39:33Speaker 4: lot of people have a lot of different thoughts about
- 39:35Speaker 4: this logo. Some say, oh, well, I hate it, it's
- 39:38Speaker 4: ruining LSU Athletics and you're gonna look like a NASCAR
- 39:41Speaker 4: a WNBA logo. Some people are fine with it, and
- 39:45Speaker 4: you know, I'm fine with it. I don't really see
- 39:48Speaker 4: the big deal. Like some of LSU's most iconic moments,
- 39:52Speaker 4: have come in Bowl games, have come in national championships.
- 39:55Speaker 4: You got a bowl game patch right here on your shoulder,
- 39:58Speaker 4: you know, depending which one and the and the purple.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Night you check on the other side.
- 40:01Speaker 4: I don't really see the issue, especially since with what
- 40:04Speaker 4: Woodside Energy did so their normal logo is red and white,
- 40:07Speaker 4: they changed it to purple and white to match the
- 40:10Speaker 4: LSU uniform and to not clash with it. I don't
- 40:13Speaker 4: really see an issue with this, man. I know there's
- 40:15Speaker 4: a lot of people out there, like I would love
- 40:17Speaker 4: to know Haunt Palmer's stance on this, and I'm sure
- 40:20Speaker 4: Hunt's good with it too. I know, you know, he
- 40:21Speaker 4: likes to be the uniform guy and everybody gives him
- 40:23Speaker 4: crap about it. But I'm good with it because it's
- 40:26Speaker 4: gonna bring me money to the university. It's a step
- 40:29Speaker 4: in the right direction, and it's historic. I mean, you know,
- 40:32Speaker 4: you don't see this at all in college athletics. The
- 40:35Speaker 4: NBA started doing it a couple of years ago, as
- 40:37Speaker 4: far as like having that one signature logo patch on
- 40:40Speaker 4: their uniform. But LSU they're gonna be, you know, at
- 40:44Speaker 4: the forefront of this in college athletics, and that's that's
- 40:47Speaker 4: how LSU is. They're they're at the forefront of most things.
- 40:50Speaker 4: I mean, you know they have the the N I
- 40:52Speaker 4: L L s U sign that you saw in Times
- 40:53Speaker 4: Square a few years ago. I mean, everything all the
- 40:57Speaker 4: changes going on in college athletics, it seems like LSU
- 40:59Speaker 4: is all always either spearheading that approach or somewhere right
- 41:03Speaker 4: there in the top. And that's why LSU has been
- 41:05Speaker 4: able to navigate this and their programs have continued to thrive.
- 41:08Speaker 4: I mean, look at some of the programs in years
- 41:11Speaker 4: past that were really good before the NIL and transfer
- 41:13Speaker 4: portal era that maybe aren't there. I mean, look at
- 41:15Speaker 4: the coaches that have stepped away. I mean Tony Bennett Virginia.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Tony Bennett Virginia said, well, you know my system, my
- 41:23Speaker 4: program takes three to four years to get the hang
- 41:25Speaker 4: of it. If everybody's gonna be one and done in
- 41:27Speaker 4: college basketball, I'm out. I mean, Tony Bennett left college
- 41:30Speaker 4: basketball before the age of fifty. But LSU is bringing
- 41:33Speaker 4: in the right people and they know how to get
- 41:35Speaker 4: out in front of things like this, and it's paying
- 41:38Speaker 4: off in a big way. Because, whether you like it
- 41:41Speaker 4: or not, that woodside energy logo. It's gonna be one
- 41:43Speaker 4: of the talks of college football. Dear an LSU's first game.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Everybody's gonna see it. Everybody's going to realize that LSU
- 41:48Speaker 4: is the one that started this movement, whether you like
- 41:51Speaker 4: it or not. And so I think overall it's a
- 41:54Speaker 4: pretty good thing.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Again.
- 41:55Speaker 4: All twenty one of LSU's competition apparel throughout multiple sports
- 41:59Speaker 4: will feature the wood side enter g logo. Okay, before
- 42:03Speaker 4: we go to break, because it's Marty Graul and I'm
- 42:06Speaker 4: not a big Marty gral guy. I've told you that
- 42:09Speaker 4: parades aren't really my thing, and that remained.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Sure.
- 42:13Speaker 4: I mean, I haven't been to a Marty Girl parade,
- 42:15Speaker 4: and I think I was a freshman in high school
- 42:18Speaker 4: the last time I went to a Marty Girl prade.
- 42:20Speaker 4: I mean it's been a minute, but I was still
- 42:23Speaker 4: in Braxton before the show yesterday. Okay, you know where
- 42:27Speaker 4: Marty Girl originated? He's like, oh yeah, yeah, right here
- 42:29Speaker 4: in New Orleans. Nope, how about Mobile, Alabama?
- 42:32Speaker 3: Braxton? About that?
- 42:35Speaker 4: The people in New Orleans, they don't like to hear that,
- 42:36Speaker 4: But I well, it didn't originate Inmobile. Let me back up.
- 42:40Speaker 4: It was It was European like medieval days. That's where
- 42:43Speaker 4: it originated. First celebrated in America Inmobile. Now do they
- 42:49Speaker 4: do it as big and as wild and his round
- 42:50Speaker 4: using New Orleans And no, nobody does in really terms
- 42:53Speaker 4: of anything, but uh yeah, movie in Alabama sixteen ninety nine,
- 42:57Speaker 4: first recorded celebration. I'm sorry it was brought to American
- 43:02Speaker 4: sixteen and none. The first celebration seventeen oh three. Now,
- 43:05Speaker 4: I have been to a few Marti Girl parades in
- 43:08Speaker 4: the state of Alabama. I was telling you, you know,
- 43:10Speaker 4: we used to go on vacation and we'd get caught
- 43:13Speaker 4: in traffic on the way up there because we would
- 43:15Speaker 4: always leave here because all the tourists would come here
- 43:17Speaker 4: for Marti Graus, right, so if you live here, we
- 43:19Speaker 4: would always go somewhere else, and we got caught in it.
- 43:22Speaker 4: It was actually one beach boulevard right there in Gulf Shores,
- 43:25Speaker 4: in the Orange Beach area. We got caught in a
- 43:27Speaker 4: massive Marty Girl parade. They have one in Daphne. It
- 43:30Speaker 4: was like an old fire truck parade. They would bring
- 43:31Speaker 4: out all the antique fire trucks. They did another one
- 43:34Speaker 4: in Foley, and it's so funny because the people out
- 43:37Speaker 4: there get so hyped up for Marti Gras and you
- 43:40Speaker 4: look at it and you compare it to what we
- 43:42Speaker 4: do here. It's just not even on the same level.
- 43:44Speaker 4: It's not even close. So like was was Mobile first? Yes,
- 43:48Speaker 4: does New Orleans do it better? Absolutely so? Really no
- 43:52Speaker 4: competition there in New Orleans. Still the king of a
- 43:54Speaker 4: Marti Gral. Hope everyone out there they're just going to
- 43:56Speaker 4: Marty Girl parades, have a good time, but stay safe
- 43:58Speaker 4: out there. There are crazy people in this world, all right.
- 44:01Speaker 4: That'll pretty much do it for hour number one. Coming
- 44:04Speaker 4: up in hour number two, want to hit a quick
- 44:06Speaker 4: LSU football segment. One of the top running backs in
- 44:08Speaker 4: the country, highly considering LSU and he's actually a local kid.
- 44:12Speaker 4: And I'll tell you why. Havin Lane Kiffin is the
- 44:14Speaker 4: head coach of this program. Is perfect for moments like
- 44:16Speaker 4: these when you're trying to land an elite running back.
- 44:18Speaker 4: We'll of course have OTB mailbag at eight fifteen. Get
- 44:21Speaker 4: your questions in the comment section on YouTube. Will bounce
- 44:24Speaker 4: back and forth on that. Patrick Wright, the voice of
- 44:26Speaker 4: the LSU Lady Tigers, will join us at eight thirty.
- 44:29Speaker 4: He called all three LSU baseball games over the weekend,
- 44:32Speaker 4: and that women's basketball game versus South Carolina on Saturday night.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Busy guy over the weekend, and I didn't think he
- 44:37Speaker 4: was busy enough. So he's gonna hop one with US.
- 44:41Speaker 4: College football has a new member of the Mountain West
- 44:44Speaker 4: that will start immediately. So as of July first, twenty
- 44:47Speaker 4: twenty six, there will be a member of the Mountain West.
- 44:49Speaker 4: And normally it's not a big deal, but when you
- 44:51Speaker 4: hear which program it is, it might come as a
- 44:54Speaker 4: little bit of surprise.
- 44:55Speaker 3: But I actually think it's long overdue.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Our number three, Nick Underhill of New Orleans Dot Football
- 45:00Speaker 4: in his normal spot. Look, I keep hearing the name
- 45:03Speaker 4: Jeremiah Love. Is that a serious possibility for the New
- 45:07Speaker 4: Orleans Saints. I know there's a lot of people out
- 45:09Speaker 4: there that would like it. There's a lot of people
- 45:10Speaker 4: out there that would hate it, one of which Matt
- 45:12Speaker 4: Flynn that normally sits right appear on this is this
- 45:15Speaker 4: Maybe you give you a little bit of an Olympic update.
- 45:17Speaker 4: LSU thought they were losing a staff member coming back
- 45:20Speaker 4: after originally announcing he was gonna going to the NFL.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Then we'll close it out with Saints. We'll do ask
- 45:25Speaker 4: the bench, we'll do all of it. That's all coming up,
- 45:27Speaker 4: So we got a busy hour one and two again
- 45:30Speaker 4: coming up. On the other side, we'll have LSU football
- 45:33Speaker 4: and then Patrick right at eight thirty. Stay tuned Hours
- 45:35Speaker 4: two and three of OTB coming up next, Off the bench,
