- 0:46Speaker 3: it right. I didn't say choban, even though it is
- 0:49Speaker 3: written as with the bee.
- 0:50Speaker 2: But the bee silence like sile bon, yes, but chevon
- 0:53Speaker 2: it's the Irish. It makes no sense.
- 0:55Speaker 3: So the bee is silent, yes, So the bitch is
- 0:57Speaker 3: silent or the vicious back there's going to be trouble.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Welcome to my show.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'm thrilled. I'm thrilled to be here.
- 1:05Speaker 4: You're amazing. I've been I've been watching you for I
- 1:08Speaker 4: don't want to say one hundred and fifty years and
- 1:12Speaker 4: you're beautiful, Oh my god. And your red hair is natural?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Oh it is?
- 1:16Speaker 4: It is? So you're a ginger.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm a ginger.
- 1:17Speaker 4: We allowed to say that? Is that?
- 1:19Speaker 2: I know?
- 1:19Speaker 1: No?
- 1:19Speaker 2: No, listen, please mock me and I. We got to
- 1:22Speaker 2: start mocking more, don't you think?
- 1:24Speaker 4: Listen?
- 1:24Speaker 3: You're a comedian too, right, So, how can you even
- 1:27Speaker 3: be a comedian as climate?
- 1:28Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:29Speaker 2: You can't?
- 1:29Speaker 4: It's crazy, you can't. It's crazy.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I'm going to become a ballerina because I think I'm
- 1:33Speaker 2: going to change it up.
- 1:35Speaker 4: That might be comical, but I have bad.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Feet, so I got to think of something else. I
- 1:39Speaker 2: have rhythm though.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think you could maybe just a jazz dancer. I
- 1:44Speaker 3: think you could totally be off. I think you could
- 1:46Speaker 3: all right.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I think you have it in you.
- 1:48Speaker 2: To pull Thanks for the confidence.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I don't have a photo do, so tell me tell
- 1:53Speaker 3: me about so. I want to bring you back to
- 1:56Speaker 3: you are on Saturday Night Life. Yes, and now you're
- 1:59Speaker 3: more into act thing now?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Yes? Right, so you've been into quite a few shows. Yes.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Where did you get your start?
- 2:06Speaker 2: I got my start in the third grade. I was
- 2:08Speaker 2: the last wheel of the of the train in the
- 2:10Speaker 2: Proud Train in Castle Over in New York. I wanted
- 2:12Speaker 2: to be the conductor, but they wouldn't let the girls
- 2:14Speaker 2: try off for the conductor those days, this day and age,
- 2:16Speaker 2: they shut the school down. Oh, so I ended up
- 2:18Speaker 2: being the wheel and I knew I had I had
- 2:21Speaker 2: the the drive the drive. And also I got very
- 2:26Speaker 2: very bad reviews from the sixth grade classer said, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: why was the wheel going so fast and the caboose
- 2:31Speaker 2: the train would have drailed? So I was like, the
- 2:33Speaker 2: hell with them?
- 2:35Speaker 3: No, so your first, your first bad review. But you
- 2:37Speaker 3: know what, no bad press is. No bad press is
- 2:40Speaker 3: good press. That's right, that's right.
- 2:42Speaker 4: So no.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Basically, what happened fast forward right near actually where you're filming.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I was a receptionist at a law firm about a
- 2:48Speaker 2: block away, and but I went to school for acting.
- 2:51Speaker 2: You know, I went and everything, and I was ready
- 2:53Speaker 2: to quit. I was about twenty eight and I got
- 2:57Speaker 2: into an improv group. It's called Who's on First on
- 2:59Speaker 2: sixty fifth and first I've heard of that was I
- 3:01Speaker 2: think it's a chicken store now. Anyway, it's so sad,
- 3:04Speaker 2: and so I said, why don't you write a one
- 3:08Speaker 2: woman show, and so I did, and long the short
- 3:11Speaker 2: of it, this Seinfeld came and SNL came. Yeah, So
- 3:16Speaker 2: so I got on Seinfeld's Elaine's Roommate. Yes, And then
- 3:20Speaker 2: I flew to New York to audition and got on SNL.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Thank god for the one woman's show.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Two iconic shows like Seinfeld was like the best show
- 3:28Speaker 3: and in Hell was.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Awesome my favorite comedy. Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Well, and you know what's interesting is that you know
- 3:34Speaker 2: they work so hard at me to talk about committed actors,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I mean, they would really work at making. They were serious,
- 3:40Speaker 2: serious business. Although Jerry he used to doing He'd do
- 3:43Speaker 2: my scene, like there's the camera. He'd be like, I'd
- 3:46Speaker 2: be like, why aren't you looking at my head? He's like,
- 3:47Speaker 2: because I'll burst out laughing. So I was like, well,
- 3:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna after that looking at my head. But anyway,
- 3:51Speaker 2: so yeah, no, I was lucky.
- 3:51Speaker 3: How was it not to laugh in some of these scenes.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I would have been laughing all die It was insane.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And then I was Kramer's girlfriend and He's like, I
- 4:00Speaker 2: brought in some African music for us to practice, and
- 4:03Speaker 2: I was like, huh, how about we just learned our lives.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But I was like, you know.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I was was he more improv because yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 3: he was very improv This reminds me of the Murk.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Griffin said that was one of my favorite episodes. But
- 4:14Speaker 3: he took somebody he found the MERV Griffin set, like
- 4:16Speaker 3: in the garbage, and he puts it in his apartment
- 4:18Speaker 3: and everybody that was coming in he would like sit
- 4:20Speaker 3: with him and he was held. They would come in
- 4:23Speaker 3: and like he would talk to his friends like they
- 4:24Speaker 3: were on an e on a talk show, which is
- 4:27Speaker 3: hysterical call.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I was obsessed by the way with the murvve Griffin
- 4:29Speaker 2: show when I was young, Like most kids were outside
- 4:31Speaker 2: playing on I gotta watch murvh.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I know he was very wealthy, Like how I like,
- 4:37Speaker 3: how did he become soul freak away?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Was? I remember when I moved to la I only
- 4:40Speaker 2: lived there for two years because I really didn't fit in,
- 4:42Speaker 2: like I were a bathing cap in the pool and stuff.
- 4:44Speaker 2: He be like, you're not from here. I was like, no, no,
- 4:45Speaker 2: I gotta move anyway. But I remember they were like,
- 4:48Speaker 2: there's MURV Griffin's house. I remember it was a spectacular
- 4:50Speaker 2: house up off of Fairfax, like at the top of
- 4:53Speaker 2: the time.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I was like, yeah he did all right, all right,
- 4:57Speaker 4: did all right for himself? He was he was he
- 5:00Speaker 4: it was big.
- 5:00Speaker 3: That was like for the younger the younger viewers, he's
- 5:04Speaker 3: like you're like, say, if you were watching like a
- 5:06Speaker 3: Joe Rogan, like that was him, Like he was just
- 5:08Speaker 3: yeazing like everybody tunes in.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he was big.
- 5:11Speaker 4: He was really good. So I did you have a
- 5:13Speaker 4: meetmurve of Griffin.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I did not know he's he was just I remember
- 5:18Speaker 3: watching him at night, like watching SNL at night, Like
- 5:21Speaker 3: I would sneak down to go watch SNL because.
- 5:24Speaker 4: My brothers and sisters were all older than me.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so I would be watching John Belushi and
- 5:29Speaker 3: Jake Curtin and oh my god, all the.
- 5:32Speaker 4: G I used to by.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I would crawl on my hands and knees because my
- 5:37Speaker 2: father's like, you're not watching that. We're Catholic, so like
- 5:39Speaker 2: it's dirty, and I would literally look like it was
- 5:41Speaker 2: a covert operation. I'd be like like a worm, like
- 5:44Speaker 2: I'm getting that TV, you know, watching it and then
- 5:46Speaker 2: get caught. But I think my father actually thought it
- 5:48Speaker 2: was funny.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, probably you.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Had to watch because you had got to go like, ma,
- 5:52Speaker 3: get it, because I know when I was little, it
- 5:53Speaker 3: was like, well, what was the range of me being
- 5:55Speaker 3: what's the pay beating? Like is it worth getting the
- 5:58Speaker 3: beating or getting punished? So I would weigh out my
- 6:00Speaker 3: option to throw you a beaten right, you know, what
- 6:02Speaker 3: is it worth it? Yeah, it's worth I'm it's not
- 6:06Speaker 3: worth it.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Guys, I'm not doing it so true? Right? Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I remember one time I told my father's Cadillac and
- 6:11Speaker 2: I and my best friend Mary and I were only
- 6:13Speaker 2: like fifteen, and we had a pack of cigarettes and
- 6:16Speaker 2: you know, I'm from out in the sticks.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Oh my god, and I was.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I picked her up and I was like, oh, there's
- 6:20Speaker 2: two people walking. I was like, oh my god, it's
- 6:22Speaker 2: my parents. I am screwed.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And so I just beat and waved.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I was like I'm Deadn't they like?
- 6:29Speaker 4: Oh my like did a double date.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I think my father always thought, huh.
- 6:33Speaker 4: She finally got it, She finally got away. It was like,
- 6:36Speaker 4: is she she like me? He was probably proud of you.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I think he thought it was funny deep down. But
- 6:39Speaker 2: I get in a lot of trouble.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I remember when I took my brother's call, like he
- 6:43Speaker 3: wanted to be mad at me, but it was so
- 6:45Speaker 3: hilarious because he caught me and he opened up the
- 6:48Speaker 3: card door when I was driving it, and I drove
- 6:50Speaker 3: away from him because I was so scared. But he
- 6:53Speaker 3: was like, actually, I don't know if he was proud
- 6:55Speaker 3: of me, but I think he thought it was funny.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm the same I have three kids. I'm the same way.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm like, huh, Like I remember going to my son's room.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, there's a lot of towels in the bed.
- 7:05Speaker 2: He jumped out the window, but note to self, don't
- 7:08Speaker 2: leave the screen next to the bed when you jump
- 7:10Speaker 2: out the window. And then party was like, it's got
- 7:12Speaker 2: a lot of good Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Are you? Are you one of those parents too?
- 7:16Speaker 3: Like my if my kids would get like a fall
- 7:18Speaker 3: call home or something, I would be the parent that
- 7:20Speaker 3: would be laughing that they did something funny, Like no, when.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I tell you, I had a hot line to my
- 7:27Speaker 2: house every Friday speaking to Gingers. One time, my son
- 7:31Speaker 2: wouldn't know one thing about science or Punnett Square. So
- 7:34Speaker 2: one time he said to this girl, you know if
- 7:35Speaker 2: you marry, if you end up marrying your boyfriend, your
- 7:38Speaker 2: kids are gonna be gingers. And the principal goes, missus Hogan,
- 7:42Speaker 2: this is mister b. And he said, you know your
- 7:46Speaker 2: son made fun of so and so, and he said
- 7:49Speaker 2: her kids are gonna be gingers. I said, have you
- 7:51Speaker 2: seen the color in my hair?
- 7:53Speaker 3: I was like, what, it's almost a certainty, and that
- 7:56Speaker 3: it's gonna happen.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Get somebody if they're offunded by that going on with this?
- 8:01Speaker 4: I know. And now it's even twenty times. Oh, I
- 8:03Speaker 4: could never have kids if I had a kid now,
- 8:05Speaker 4: like I know what's gonna happen when I have my grandchildren?
- 8:08Speaker 3: How I would be I can't even fact know about even. Look,
- 8:13Speaker 3: people got to start laughing at themselves. Oh please, and
- 8:15Speaker 3: they gotta get it sent to you.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, like no, it's insane, Like I have to think
- 8:20Speaker 2: things I say are wrong my kids. You're like mom
- 8:22Speaker 2: me too.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I'm totally not politically correct. I say it how it is.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I can't help it. I'm Italian of Sicilian. It just
- 8:28Speaker 3: comes out of my mouth. I can't help it. Well,
- 8:30Speaker 3: they keep changing up the rules too.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You don't know what you're saying half the time, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: what you're supposed to.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Say and not say exactly right. You can't get it.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Listen, there should be classes, there should be classes of
- 8:40Speaker 3: what this pressure.
- 8:42Speaker 4: We still say the one thing because they would change
- 8:45Speaker 4: it like the next week terrible, it's terrible.
- 8:47Speaker 3: It's awful, and what people for comedians like for people
- 8:51Speaker 3: like you who are it's it's so I feel it's
- 8:53Speaker 3: so hard to do that these days because you you
- 8:56Speaker 3: the one thing you could say. Somebody is always offending.
- 8:58Speaker 3: It's always the person that it's about that they're they're
- 9:01Speaker 3: offended for somebody else.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I know, like what do you care?
- 9:03Speaker 4: Like if they're not offended?
- 9:05Speaker 2: What's when we're the joker? When when when the guy says,
- 9:08Speaker 2: why so serious? Was a joker? One of those? But
- 9:13Speaker 2: it's like why is every so serious?
- 9:14Speaker 3: I know, come on, you gotta laugh, you gotta it's
- 9:17Speaker 3: not it's not like like too much like if that
- 9:20Speaker 3: offends you, like it's.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Gonna, it's gonna, it's gonna even out though it's got you.
- 9:23Speaker 3: And no it needs to. I think it's starting to
- 9:25Speaker 3: go back the other way. I was just talking because
- 9:27Speaker 3: it's it's ridiculous. Yeah, it's so much just like dude,
- 9:31Speaker 3: get a helmet, go get a hug, like come on,
- 9:33Speaker 3: like what are you doing?
- 9:34Speaker 4: Like? What is this right?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Right? Right?
- 9:36Speaker 4: You can't get upset over the littlest littlest thing.
- 9:39Speaker 2: No, you can't because you be upset all the time.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Right, You're always gonna be upset and always be disappointed
- 9:43Speaker 3: all the time.
- 9:43Speaker 4: What are you gonna do yourself in a bubble? And no,
- 9:46Speaker 4: you can't of it. I can't, it's too much. But
- 9:48Speaker 4: you I believe you're right. I see it starting to
- 9:51Speaker 4: go back and has to people have lost their minds. Oh,
- 9:54Speaker 4: it's it's crazy.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think it's hard for our generation because
- 9:58Speaker 3: I think that our generation of Generation X, like we
- 10:00Speaker 3: were like the crazy ones. It went from like the
- 10:03Speaker 3: parents went home every day with the kids. The mom
- 10:05Speaker 3: was home cooked, and then all of a sudden, I
- 10:07Speaker 3: was like, okay, stay home by yourself. He has a
- 10:08Speaker 3: key into the house. And the Generation X is that right?
- 10:14Speaker 2: And it's true, we didn't know what the heck we
- 10:16Speaker 2: were doing either.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Why did they leave us alone? But if you want
- 10:20Speaker 3: me to tell you something, we were resourceful. My kid,
- 10:22Speaker 3: if I left her long in the house, she would
- 10:24Speaker 3: not know. The only thing she wouldn't be able to
- 10:25Speaker 3: is auto ubi eats. It's true, wouldn't be able to cook.
- 10:28Speaker 2: My husband's such a good cook, because you know, it
- 10:30Speaker 2: was it was survival of the fittest.
- 10:32Speaker 4: That's true.
- 10:33Speaker 3: If you didn't get home first to eat the food,
- 10:34Speaker 3: everybody else was Oh.
- 10:35Speaker 2: My god, it was. I used to I was such
- 10:38Speaker 2: a sweet tooth, and I was kind of like the
- 10:40Speaker 2: rent of the litter, and I was like, oh, seriously,
- 10:43Speaker 2: she's like, my mother bought the worst sweets too. She'd
- 10:45Speaker 2: be like, you can have this pack of fake Newtons
- 10:47Speaker 2: and put them in your room. I'm like, I don't
- 10:49Speaker 2: want those. I don't know what that could she be
- 10:51Speaker 2: chips away, let's skate up?
- 10:53Speaker 4: I got me skate up? What would you buy these
- 10:56Speaker 4: on sale? Like two for a dollar? And now I'm
- 10:57Speaker 4: getting them now and they probably stay the worse.
- 11:00Speaker 2: They shoudn't even qualify underweeks.
- 11:01Speaker 4: They should it.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Although once in a while I do like a Fig Newton,
- 11:05Speaker 3: but it's not something that I would like go to
- 11:07Speaker 3: start and say, hey, let me go buy a Fig Newton.
- 11:09Speaker 4: No.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I think I think I have PTSD from fig neuts
- 11:12Speaker 2: because my mother. I'm one of five, and literally every
- 11:14Speaker 2: single day in my life, I got peanut butter jelly
- 11:15Speaker 2: and a fig noot in an apple, and I was like,
- 11:17Speaker 2: I hate apples, hay fieu and jelly.
- 11:19Speaker 4: That's it for you, terrible you.
- 11:21Speaker 2: My best friend her, she was the youngest of seven
- 11:24Speaker 2: and there was a little break, like she was kind
- 11:25Speaker 2: of a mistake. So her mother used to make these
- 11:27Speaker 2: things called congo bars, and I used to steal them
- 11:29Speaker 2: every lunch and then her mother's like, I'll just put it, just.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Put an extra one in for you, yes, show, Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 3: that was nice of heart.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I know you know, did your mother work?
- 11:38Speaker 2: No?
- 11:39Speaker 4: No, she had five kids. That's nobody.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And I was just talking about that too. People do
- 11:44Speaker 3: not realize how hard the new generation. They want to say, oh,
- 11:48Speaker 3: a woman should work, a work. Being a mother is
- 11:52Speaker 3: probably the hardest job. In her I would see, oh,
- 11:55Speaker 3: could not run a household the way a mother runs
- 11:57Speaker 3: a household.
- 11:58Speaker 2: When I would get movie jobs, I would bring my
- 12:00Speaker 2: kids because I would be guilted, Catholic guilt. So I'd
- 12:03Speaker 2: always bring them so and any want them to like
- 12:05Speaker 2: be like talking about me when I got older, like
- 12:07Speaker 2: she didn't. She wasn't never home, So I brought them
- 12:09Speaker 2: and I was like, don't blame it on me. Don't
- 12:13Speaker 2: blame it on Yeah, don't blame it on me that
- 12:16Speaker 2: you're a weirdo. Blame it on yourself. So anyway, So
- 12:21Speaker 2: but I would I would be like, this is so
- 12:23Speaker 2: much easier than stay at home. I was like at home,
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'd be like, well made macaroni and cheese again, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: there were tissery chickens gone. I was the worst cook.
- 12:32Speaker 2: My poor kids the worst.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But I bet you that they they do come home
- 12:36Speaker 3: and actually gonna make macarony trees.
- 12:38Speaker 2: People kids would come by missus Hogan. Can you tell me, mother,
- 12:40Speaker 2: how you make your macaroni? She say, oh, yeah, you're ready.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Boil water, take the cheese out of the plastic. When
- 12:46Speaker 2: the when those noodles are soft, get the water out,
- 12:49Speaker 2: put it in and stirred up. It was literally probably
- 12:52Speaker 2: Asian orange. It was so so bad.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Coverment j was pretty.
- 13:00Speaker 2: It was terrible.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I know something, I like craft better than velveto for
- 13:03Speaker 3: some reason, I don't know why.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Maybe it's because we were raised on it.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and the plastic.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 2: And it was so salty, so salty. I would put
- 13:10Speaker 2: more salt on it. My kids, I'm sure.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Have major kids have high blood rushing, freaking back around.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I had noticed that and gooya black beans and rotisserie
- 13:18Speaker 2: chicken like babies. I'd put it on there. I'd put
- 13:20Speaker 2: it and they'd be like, we having us again.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'm like, do you have any ideas there, any recipes?
- 13:24Speaker 4: Do you have anything? Well, you probably.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I was Italian, so I had I always had, Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 3: a big dinna and I had to make homemade macaroni
- 13:31Speaker 3: and cheese.
- 13:32Speaker 4: My kids were on the other spectrum. They wouldn't eat
- 13:33Speaker 4: left all of this.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Well, my sister married Italian. Yeah, so she learned about
- 13:37Speaker 2: the seven fishes and the whole deal. Then she said
- 13:40Speaker 2: she got mixed up about affection because I was Irish.
- 13:42Speaker 2: You're like, Hi, I love you like I just said
- 13:44Speaker 2: love you, and I'm not hugging you. So she I'll
- 13:46Speaker 2: never forget. When she first married him, a guy delivered
- 13:48Speaker 2: a couch to her house and she kissed him because
- 13:50Speaker 2: she said, oh my god, this is so nice.
- 13:51Speaker 4: I love it.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And she she calls me, she goes, oh my god,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I got so mixed up, Sean, because you know, we
- 13:56Speaker 2: were raised to be so cold, and now that I'm
- 13:58Speaker 2: married to an Italian, all they do is hug and
- 14:00Speaker 2: kissing everything. I hug the.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Couch delivery guy.
- 14:05Speaker 3: She was probably so happy it was a nice couch
- 14:06Speaker 3: that she probably hugged. She was She's thrilled I hugged.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I used to hug my cleaning lady, which listen, that's
- 14:15Speaker 3: the happiest day.
- 14:16Speaker 4: When they my plumber too, I'd be like, oh God, God,
- 14:19Speaker 4: country here.
- 14:20Speaker 2: No the clean lades. Forget if that's they're the life savers,
- 14:22Speaker 2: they really are.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I have to tell you when I stood home with
- 14:26Speaker 3: my kids, and because now I own my I own
- 14:29Speaker 3: a few businesses, so I could tell you, like you said,
- 14:32Speaker 3: being a mom was so much harder than going to work.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I much rather go to work than be home because
- 14:37Speaker 3: I would be mommy dearists no more why.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Yeah, hangers.
- 14:41Speaker 3: I would totally be like that because I would want
- 14:44Speaker 3: to be It would have to be clean. Everything had
- 14:46Speaker 3: to be clean, to be perfection. No toys on the
- 14:48Speaker 3: floor like I was.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Oh, I was a fanatic. I was not that person.
- 14:53Speaker 2: But I was always exhausted and I'd be like, you guys,
- 14:56Speaker 2: you got to sleep, but I was up with a newport.
- 14:58Speaker 2: They'd be like looking at like I'm three and I'm five.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I don't really care like it was like a weirdo.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I was like, seriously, mommy got no sleep.
- 15:06Speaker 4: You will try to play on their guilt.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And I was like, could somebody give me a break?
- 15:09Speaker 2: It was ridiculous.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Well, I know when we would when I had children,
- 15:14Speaker 3: like we didn't have I show you know this, I
- 15:17Speaker 3: would the swings.
- 15:18Speaker 4: You just have to wind them up. They didn't. They
- 15:20Speaker 4: wore it electric.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, because my daughter saying, remember my mother came
- 15:26Speaker 2: down to help me. I was living in New York
- 15:27Speaker 2: City and Britnett was a she didn't sleep And my
- 15:30Speaker 2: mother said, oh god, I wish that had that swing
- 15:33Speaker 2: at more than three speeds and.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Odd that you would just wind it up and it
- 15:36Speaker 3: would only last like twenty minutes, so you get like
- 15:39Speaker 3: a twenty minute and nap.
- 15:40Speaker 4: It took five minutes to go to sleep, and.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Then you would only get like a ten minute cat
- 15:43Speaker 3: nop while they went there.
- 15:44Speaker 4: And all of a sudden it would stop it and
- 15:45Speaker 4: be like.
- 15:48Speaker 2: It was sa But they all have so much equipment now. Yes,
- 15:51Speaker 2: like if I had that video camera, because I would
- 15:53Speaker 2: sneak in to make sure they were still alive, and
- 15:55Speaker 2: if I had that video camera, they would be different
- 15:57Speaker 2: people today.
- 15:57Speaker 4: So would I, so I probably looked better. I was
- 16:02Speaker 4: like it too. I say, if I didn't hear them cry,
- 16:04Speaker 4: I'd be like, why are they not? I are you awake?
- 16:07Speaker 4: And then they're so startled all the time now because
- 16:10Speaker 4: I used to wake them up. Are you okay?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Mom?
- 16:16Speaker 4: I was sleeping. Mom, I was sleeping, like all right, I.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Know, not choking and just leep because they scared. That
- 16:23Speaker 2: was our generation got weirder than our parents because our
- 16:25Speaker 2: parents didn't even care.
- 16:27Speaker 4: No, they didn't.
- 16:27Speaker 2: They'd be like, look if we choked, that got a
- 16:29Speaker 2: lot of their other kids left.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Dude.
- 16:30Speaker 3: We had no car seats. They would let us in
- 16:33Speaker 3: the back of a station wagon, a big choke on
- 16:35Speaker 3: a station wagon. They had like a window like the
- 16:37Speaker 3: size of this screen, and we would be like hanging
- 16:39Speaker 3: out that.
- 16:40Speaker 4: We're like four years old and our parents were going
- 16:42Speaker 4: on the big bombs. We go, we can go right
- 16:44Speaker 4: out the window. That's what I generated.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Drove to Florida, no helmets. Terrible. My father put a
- 16:48Speaker 2: mattress this thick. It was like, I don't know what
- 16:50Speaker 2: it was supposed to be to drive to Florida, which
- 16:52Speaker 2: is the worst thing in the world. You're like, you
- 16:54Speaker 2: know what I heard. It's out there. I know I'd
- 16:56Speaker 2: rather stay home. This is this drider.
- 16:57Speaker 3: So me and my sister did not get along because
- 16:59Speaker 3: we got stuck in a ride to Florida once a year.
- 17:02Speaker 2: We would have wad a major major punchouts major or
- 17:06Speaker 2: my sister be like, mister maybe like like could be
- 17:09Speaker 2: so jammaeds, she goes, you have a black head?
- 17:11Speaker 4: Can I get it?
- 17:11Speaker 2: I'm like no, She's like please, I'm like no. It
- 17:15Speaker 2: was just go over and then she's like, mom, can
- 17:17Speaker 2: I have a bobby pin? And then she then she
- 17:18Speaker 2: worked like oh. And my father be like be quiet?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Would you with the stupid map like we'd always it
- 17:25Speaker 2: was awful.
- 17:26Speaker 3: We had to look at maps map we had no
- 17:28Speaker 3: map we had we were then we got map quests.
- 17:31Speaker 4: As we got all we had to print it out.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Wait wait, but like anybody who lives in LA was
- 17:35Speaker 2: the something book and I was like, I can't turn that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I would just ask. I would excuse me, like.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Over and over and over. Yeah.
- 17:42Speaker 3: And my father, oh, my brother or however I was
- 17:44Speaker 3: driving or whatever. Man would never want to stop it
- 17:46Speaker 3: astroom no, actually, man never want to stop. Remember the
- 17:49Speaker 3: sign of weakness sign of weakness. One time we went
- 17:52Speaker 3: to uh Vermont to ski and we my fat we
- 17:57Speaker 3: were blasting.
- 17:58Speaker 2: We had one CD. Not CD is a tape of
- 18:01Speaker 2: Bye by Miss American Pie. We must have say it
- 18:03Speaker 2: probably five hundred times. When my father's were he drove
- 18:09Speaker 2: two hours the wrong way. I think we're in New Hampshire.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I don't know we were. I was like, oh, why
- 18:13Speaker 2: didn't you ask.
- 18:16Speaker 1: It was?
- 18:17Speaker 3: It's because we were looking at mapst and if you
- 18:19Speaker 3: were in the middle of the night, you couldn't.
- 18:21Speaker 4: We couldn't had a.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Flashlight, you couldn't like see it. We had phones, we
- 18:25Speaker 3: had nothing. But we survived.
- 18:28Speaker 4: We did. We did survive.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Right, if our friends we were out all day, and
- 18:32Speaker 3: I'll say this everybody, right, we would still all find
- 18:36Speaker 3: each other if we met right at night.
- 18:38Speaker 4: We didn't.
- 18:39Speaker 3: None of us had a phone call. None of us
- 18:40Speaker 3: had a phone. None of us had I wouldn't even
- 18:42Speaker 3: have beepers. Then we would still find each other.
- 18:44Speaker 2: When I got my wisdom teeth out, I'm the second
- 18:47Speaker 2: of five and my mother's like, oh God, you look terrible. Okay,
- 18:51Speaker 2: well I gotta take hear the other kids. And she's like,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you this cow bell and if you
- 18:56Speaker 2: if you're in pain, you know, go back this.
- 19:00Speaker 4: So I was like, oh god, it was so much pain.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And I hear my mother say, what is that ringing?
- 19:06Speaker 4: That is so annoying? Does anybody else hear that?
- 19:08Speaker 2: It was like, oh, forget it, but no, they just
- 19:10Speaker 2: they didn't coddle you. So then I think that's why
- 19:13Speaker 2: show business was so much easier for me, because I
- 19:15Speaker 2: was like, listen, I lived in a house with nobody pays.
- 19:19Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if I'm used to it.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I'm good, I'm all right. I'm not an assault that
- 19:23Speaker 3: I get it. Yeah, I'm goodel like, yeah, you know what.
- 19:27Speaker 4: It prepared you. It did because you know what, they
- 19:30Speaker 4: would just let us say like, okay, do this, You're.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Fine, exactly. It was so great.
- 19:34Speaker 4: It was great, it was and we were resoonseful.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I think the kids today are more savvy and like
- 19:39Speaker 3: a computer savvy, yes, absolutely, but everything else you don't.
- 19:44Speaker 2: You don't see them out much.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Did you ever get a ride anywhere when you were
- 19:47Speaker 4: a kid.
- 19:48Speaker 2: No, Oh my god. We used to don't forget upstate
- 19:52Speaker 2: to death for the bus. We like and we go
- 19:55Speaker 2: yous over and over and over against You're like, I'm
- 19:57Speaker 2: so cold if I don't do something like beginning frostbite
- 20:02Speaker 2: and no rides.
- 20:03Speaker 3: We would walk everywhere and we would never went to
- 20:06Speaker 3: coats because we would want to look cool.
- 20:07Speaker 4: We were all from Brooklyn and Greens.
- 20:09Speaker 3: We wear these little leather jackets in the wind to
- 20:11Speaker 3: talk with no gloves and we would walk everywhere miles
- 20:14Speaker 3: miles at night, would walk to every day on My
- 20:17Speaker 3: kids on one didn't want to go, they'll get They
- 20:19Speaker 3: didn't want to walk a block to get wait, they
- 20:21Speaker 3: would walk one block.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Two of my kids were so dysfunctional that school started
- 20:25Speaker 2: seven forty five. My daughter Shanade, she wanted to be
- 20:27Speaker 2: there early because she was like nervous, so I'd get
- 20:29Speaker 2: her to school at like seven fifteen. And then my
- 20:32Speaker 2: son Peter, I would get him to school at seven
- 20:34Speaker 2: forty five. Late, he made friends with the guy who
- 20:37Speaker 2: taught shop or carpentry or whatever. Sneak through the window
- 20:40Speaker 2: and go in. I would take two trips and we
- 20:42Speaker 2: only have two blocks away. I was embarrassed, but I
- 20:44Speaker 2: was like, you know what, this is fun. Gives me
- 20:46Speaker 2: something to do, see the kids a little bit. Let's
- 20:49Speaker 2: see if I rub off on them.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Did they have children?
- 20:53Speaker 2: Now?
- 20:53Speaker 4: Do your children?
- 20:54Speaker 1: No?
- 20:54Speaker 2: My my, I have my daughter. She's actually a newscaster,
- 20:58Speaker 2: burned that Hogan for New York One. She was she
- 21:01Speaker 2: was at the Post. She broke the nursing home story
- 21:03Speaker 2: with Cuomo. She's okay, but now she's New York One.
- 21:06Speaker 2: My son, Peter, he's in this business. He's an actor,
- 21:08Speaker 2: but he does music, supervising and everything. He's twenty five
- 21:11Speaker 2: and Snade is twenty two. She's trying to be an actress.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Both Peter and Snade. Yeah are they?
- 21:15Speaker 4: Have they been in anything?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Well? I wrote two movies, Shelter and Solitude, which came
- 21:19Speaker 2: which came out in October.
- 21:22Speaker 4: To watch that, actually, yeah, I haven't had it's my list.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, you like it. It did. We got
- 21:27Speaker 2: picked up by AMC and Regal, which was crazy because
- 21:29Speaker 2: we're independent. So Peter has a really big part in that.
- 21:32Speaker 2: He's hilarious as the cop Robert Patrick from the Terminator.
- 21:37Speaker 2: He's plays my brother in it. Really yeah, Homer Simpson,
- 21:40Speaker 2: you know Dan Casselenette he plays and it's a serious movie.
- 21:44Speaker 2: But anyway, so they're both in it, and my daughter
- 21:46Speaker 2: Shnade plays a hippie in it, but he's done it.
- 21:48Speaker 2: They've both on other things as well.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Where was it set? Where was it set?
- 21:51Speaker 2: He filmed it in Upstate New York, but it's supposed
- 21:54Speaker 2: to be Tennessee, okay, as well as.
- 21:56Speaker 4: The time Ranger was set, and it was set in
- 21:57Speaker 4: present day.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Or it's present day because supposed to be about the
- 22:00Speaker 2: beginning of COVID And I own a bar. I'm like
- 22:03Speaker 2: a loser, wanna be kind of like a cougar, want
- 22:06Speaker 2: to be know it will we have me? And I'm
- 22:07Speaker 2: living in the past, I sang, and.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Then you are totally not that you are. No, I'm hot.
- 22:10Speaker 2: You're a smoking hot you smoking smoking, that's the problem.
- 22:17Speaker 2: But anyway, I play like this cougar want to be
- 22:19Speaker 2: and I live in the past, like I sang in
- 22:21Speaker 2: Nashville once in nineteen ninety six and it never made it.
- 22:23Speaker 2: But I've got a bar where I'm like the only
- 22:25Speaker 2: hitting town in this teeny tiny town. And then my
- 22:27Speaker 2: bar shuts down. I become a prison guard and guard
- 22:29Speaker 2: this guy Peter Macon, who's a fabulous actor. It's like
- 22:33Speaker 2: a young James Earl Jones on Death Row. And so
- 22:36Speaker 2: it's about the last ten days of his life.
- 22:38Speaker 4: I can't wait till I have it on my list.
- 22:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna try to watch it.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I have to finish just one series that wanted someone.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Just tonight just watch it tonight.
- 22:45Speaker 4: But I will, I'll try, I will.
- 22:46Speaker 3: I will promise all right tomorrow I'll text you him
- 22:50Speaker 3: like you know that I will waste it. I'm sure
- 22:51Speaker 3: it's gonna be one defult It's awesome. I watched a trailer. Yeah,
- 22:55Speaker 3: so I said, I definitely have to watch this looks
- 22:56Speaker 3: so interesting.
- 22:57Speaker 2: It has like ninety eight percent on Rotten Tomato, which
- 23:00Speaker 2: is like, yeah, so almost yeah, perfect squad.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So now it's on Amazon, Apple all that, So thank.
- 23:07Speaker 4: God, that's amazing. Are you going to be writing anything else?
- 23:10Speaker 4: Are you gonna have any other roles?
- 23:13Speaker 2: I wrote a play that hopefully is going to be
- 23:16Speaker 2: done off Broadway next year, in next February, and it's
- 23:21Speaker 2: about my Irish Catholic family. So we did a reading
- 23:24Speaker 2: with Patty Heaton from A Roller's Raymond played my sister Mary,
- 23:27Speaker 2: Margaret Colin Lyla Robinson. We had this reading and so
- 23:30Speaker 2: it went, it's all the it's not just for like
- 23:33Speaker 2: Irish Catholics, because it's about anybody who has had a
- 23:36Speaker 2: mother who's passed and all the tension that comes with it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It's like me coming up from New York. I'm like
- 23:41Speaker 2: the selfish actress. They've been killing themselves working with my mother.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You like, try it and we're screening, drinking wine, saying
- 23:46Speaker 2: the rosary, drinking wine, saying the rosary, fighting, whipping the bird,
- 23:49Speaker 2: you know. So it's all that goes with that, that
- 23:52Speaker 2: end of life. It's a comedy.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I definitely want to be invited to Oh, for sure
- 24:01Speaker 4: you will.
- 24:02Speaker 2: For sure.
- 24:02Speaker 3: I admire you that you have gotten into now writing
- 24:06Speaker 3: and producing to you. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's my now
- 24:09Speaker 3: my second life career, which I need to do.
- 24:11Speaker 4: And I love that.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I always I was always loved the business. I always
- 24:14Speaker 3: love you know, uh writing, and I love the the
- 24:18Speaker 3: that end of the business.
- 24:20Speaker 4: So I'm I'm very Yeah, it's funny.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Us.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I never thought that I would produce or write, but
- 24:28Speaker 2: then when my youngest was a junior, I was like,
- 24:30Speaker 2: what am I going to do? Stay home and cook
- 24:32Speaker 2: and clean. I can't do that. And I only worked
- 24:33Speaker 2: like half the year usually, So that's what really it was,
- 24:37Speaker 2: you know, aquired you to do.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, that's amazing.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah, thank god.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Look but look what you've accomplished.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Now.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I nearly killed me.
- 24:46Speaker 4: And if you don't mind me asking, how how old
- 24:48Speaker 4: are you?
- 24:48Speaker 2: I'm one hundred and sixty five in the shade, let's
- 24:53Speaker 2: just say I'm not young. I's shocking. I am sixty two.
- 24:58Speaker 4: You don't know.
- 24:59Speaker 2: No, Listen, I just done on tape for something. And
- 25:02Speaker 2: you know the beauty of like COVID and all that
- 25:04Speaker 2: now is you can go on tape sometimes if directors
- 25:06Speaker 2: want to see you. Yeah, I got looking at it.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god. I get a lot
- 25:10Speaker 2: of scripts will say she's seen better days. I'm like,
- 25:14Speaker 2: can somebody wipe that out?
- 25:16Speaker 4: She has?
- 25:16Speaker 2: She has a lot of city miles on her face.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Life hasn't gone well. I'm like, I'll take it figure.
- 25:22Speaker 4: And that's okay. But that's okay to say that to
- 25:24Speaker 4: you these I guess the people I don't even care.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Oh I don't care.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Now you laugh at it, but you laugh at it. Listen.
- 25:31Speaker 2: My mother used to say, don't be looking in the
- 25:32Speaker 2: mirror so much. And I'm like, I should have looked
- 25:34Speaker 2: a little more. No, I was just telling Jeff I
- 25:39Speaker 2: I her needd two discs in my back about six
- 25:42Speaker 2: weeks ago because I decided to start exercising like other
- 25:45Speaker 2: people do, and so I did pilates and nearly like
- 25:48Speaker 2: crippled myself.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Why would you do that?
- 25:49Speaker 2: I will never do it again.
- 25:50Speaker 4: I'm like, there's too much of a contraption for me.
- 25:53Speaker 4: The doctor would definitely kill myself.
- 25:56Speaker 2: You know, doctors are very like serious. So the doctor's
- 25:58Speaker 2: like OLDU. I was like, but you can't believe when
- 26:02Speaker 2: you say it out. You're like how that happen? And
- 26:04Speaker 2: he's like, why don't you just walk or swim? And
- 26:06Speaker 2: I was like, I don't like cold water. I'll try
- 26:07Speaker 2: the walking. But I was like, what was I thinking
- 26:09Speaker 2: doing pilates.
- 26:11Speaker 4: That's a major contraption.
- 26:12Speaker 2: It was insane.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I could see me.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Like really like your legs are over your head and
- 26:16Speaker 2: then and I was kind of like egotistic. I was like,
- 26:18Speaker 2: look at me.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Pretty good. And then I was like, ooh until I
- 26:23Speaker 4: go back.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Remember James and the Giant Beach and they take the skeleton,
- 26:26Speaker 2: they go crank, crank, cravinyles. What one felt pretty good?
- 26:30Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, I can't move how
- 26:33Speaker 2: stupid you look to leaving a Plata. So you're like
- 26:36Speaker 2: all the young girls you're like, oh, You're like, they're.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Like, bye, I get in the car, like like you
- 26:40Speaker 4: know home.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I gets to my husband, I go, I can't get
- 26:41Speaker 2: out of the car. It's horrible, you know what.
- 26:44Speaker 4: But I pit women in our age. I'm fifty three.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Oh your baby, But I'm not.
- 26:49Speaker 4: I'm not a baby.
- 26:50Speaker 2: But there's a huge difference. I have to tell you.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Listen from forty to fifty. I, oh, this is difference.
- 26:56Speaker 3: But but we I I mean, I wake up in
- 26:59Speaker 3: the morn and I'm like, oh, my god, who kicked
- 27:01Speaker 3: my ass in the middle of the night when I
- 27:03Speaker 3: was sleeping?
- 27:04Speaker 4: Can I tell you?
- 27:05Speaker 3: And it's crazy, like how much? Like how all these
- 27:08Speaker 3: aches and pains? Like where did they come from?
- 27:10Speaker 2: Well? Wait a minute, your baby, And I'm not kidding you.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I no, And you look like a million bucks. My
- 27:17Speaker 2: friend told me when she was fifty eight. I thought
- 27:19Speaker 2: that was ancient, and I was fifty eight. Then she
- 27:22Speaker 2: was sixty two and she's like, wait'll this sad. I'm
- 27:24Speaker 2: not kidding. Dramatic things have happened. Everything is dropped.
- 27:27Speaker 4: I looked at my eye.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Others like my eye my eyes closed, and it's like
- 27:31Speaker 2: I might be a candidate for surgery because to do
- 27:34Speaker 2: my business you have to do us. So I was like,
- 27:36Speaker 2: what so I'm I was like, I look terrible.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I don't think you looked tarbo. I think, oh, you
- 27:44Speaker 4: know what, I just see it a little refresh everyone.
- 27:46Speaker 2: No, I need a renovation. This is a God's on
- 27:48Speaker 2: his truth. And I feel like when I tell people this,
- 27:50Speaker 2: they're like, that can't be true. You're probably making that up.
- 27:52Speaker 2: But it's the God's on his truth. I was completely
- 27:56Speaker 2: had not been in touch with his friend of mine,
- 27:57Speaker 2: you know, like during college, I mean not college grammars,
- 28:00Speaker 2: in high school. You love touch with some of the mothers. Yes,
- 28:03Speaker 2: but you still really like them. You think fondly of them,
- 28:05Speaker 2: and some of them, we don't. Some of them you
- 28:08Speaker 2: don't think so from someone No. So anyway, she writes
- 28:11Speaker 2: to me and she says, I am in a fat
- 28:14Speaker 2: camp in Tennessee. I swear to God, do you want
- 28:17Speaker 2: to there's a lot of money. She goes, I'm in
- 28:18Speaker 2: a fam Like, what's you going to diet? But anyway,
- 28:20Speaker 2: she's like, I'm in a fat camp in Tennessee, and
- 28:23Speaker 2: I met this woman and she looks just like you,
- 28:25Speaker 2: and I was like, what the hell? So she sends
- 28:28Speaker 2: me the picture and I was like, she does kind
- 28:30Speaker 2: of like me, poor thing and the outfit, and it's like,
- 28:34Speaker 2: who in God's name would ever?
- 28:36Speaker 4: I was like, like it was a good thing.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I wasn't driving. I would have gone right off the road.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I was like, this is shocking. People say, what's wrong
- 28:42Speaker 4: with people? People? People are fucked up? Yeah, fucked up.
- 28:46Speaker 4: That's really the truth, you know.
- 28:48Speaker 3: But you know what, you have to laugh at people
- 28:50Speaker 3: sometimes because I love a parson like that, because the
- 28:52Speaker 3: lead too.
- 28:53Speaker 4: Right, because I say things like it comes out sometimes
- 28:56Speaker 4: it comes out the wrong way, but I don't mean
- 28:57Speaker 4: it that way.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Well, also gives you something to talk about because no
- 29:00Speaker 2: one else is gonna be tell them that. Like there's
- 29:01Speaker 2: a little there's a little level of the conversation like
- 29:04Speaker 2: what you do today? Are like, oh, I you know
- 29:06Speaker 2: elsemble like, oh, I got a picture of an hideous
- 29:09Speaker 2: looking woman. Someone said looks just like me.
- 29:11Speaker 4: It looks just like me, And I was like, what
- 29:14Speaker 4: the hell did you tell? Thank you?
- 29:16Speaker 2: I was like, oh ha, like like you do the whatever?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Those things are emoji of the ha ha when it
- 29:21Speaker 2: comes up with the person crying. And I'm so bad
- 29:22Speaker 2: at those things. That's the other thing. My kids are like, Mom,
- 29:24Speaker 2: stay off the phone. Stay off the phone, because anything
- 29:27Speaker 2: could come up.
- 29:28Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Do you notice that when
- 29:29Speaker 3: you text, like I don't know texting etiquette. Like I
- 29:33Speaker 3: in the beginning with the whole thing with this capitalization
- 29:35Speaker 3: of the letters was yelling at somebody like, yeah, but
- 29:38Speaker 3: I am not a texter. So when I text, I
- 29:41Speaker 3: when I'm when I'm I'm talking as I'm texting, when
- 29:43Speaker 3: I'm texting into the phone, like I'm actually reciting what
- 29:46Speaker 3: I want to write. Yeah, And it always comes off wrong.
- 29:49Speaker 3: And I seem to like insult people when I text them.
- 29:51Speaker 4: I don't mean it to sound I know, off putting.
- 29:54Speaker 2: No, my son's always like, Mom, that sounds weird. But
- 29:57Speaker 2: the other thing is I learned how to voice text,
- 30:00Speaker 2: but then I forgot to turn it off, and then
- 30:01Speaker 2: it's like could be like five hours of conversation and
- 30:04Speaker 2: you lost like a weirdo.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Oh, and you can't cut and paste it and get
- 30:07Speaker 3: rid of it forever to get rid of your like, yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 3: I just did that. The other day when I was driving,
- 30:13Speaker 3: I forgot where I was driving, was going with somebody
- 30:14Speaker 3: and I'm like, what the hell just came up on?
- 30:16Speaker 4: I know it?
- 30:17Speaker 3: And I almost sent it to somebody that I was
- 30:18Speaker 3: talking about, Thank god, because I was ad that thing.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I was talking about the Parson in their text
- 30:24Speaker 4: in their.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Texts yeah, where their name is?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Yeah, And if I would hit send, they would know
- 30:28Speaker 3: I was talking about them because I was voice texting them.
- 30:31Speaker 4: I was having a fight with them.
- 30:33Speaker 3: So I was voice texting them and I forgot to
- 30:34Speaker 3: shut up that I shut up the.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Voice text, but I kind of didn't, and it was
- 30:38Speaker 4: still on the fight.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I was talking about them to somebody else and the
- 30:43Speaker 3: whole fight was in there, calling them an asshole and
- 30:45Speaker 3: everything else.
- 30:46Speaker 4: And if I would have sent it to them, yeah,
- 30:47Speaker 4: it would have been worse.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Okay, this is a sad story but also funny. So
- 30:51Speaker 2: this movie Sheltered Solitude that I was telling you about
- 30:54Speaker 2: that I did that everyone's got to watch. I was
- 30:57Speaker 2: then doing a movie in Ireland, and.
- 31:00Speaker 4: You've been to Island. I've been.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Oh god, I love it. So I was doing a
- 31:05Speaker 2: movie in Belfast, which I had never been to. This
- 31:07Speaker 2: was last year, and most of the cast was British
- 31:10Speaker 2: and they were a little cold and they were like,
- 31:11Speaker 2: oh shone, and they didn't care about me, and I
- 31:14Speaker 2: was like, huh, but anyway, so a couple of them,
- 31:17Speaker 2: you know, exchange numbers just to people like but they
- 31:19Speaker 2: really didn want I never and so so so the
- 31:21Speaker 2: those younger guys who are like, it wasn't that nice.
- 31:24Speaker 2: She's so old, we don't care about her. But anyway,
- 31:26Speaker 2: So I get home and my movie comes out, and sadly,
- 31:33Speaker 2: one of my best friends who was from Saturday at Live.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Her name was Aaron Fraser. She was Aaron Roney Fraser.
- 31:38Speaker 2: She dated Chris Farli. She was the best We stayed
- 31:40Speaker 2: friends forever and she was a producer on my film.
- 31:42Speaker 2: She passed away, so sad, suddenly of a brain aneurism.
- 31:47Speaker 2: So I am so bad with social media. I sent
- 31:50Speaker 2: her so I dedicated the end of the movie it
- 31:52Speaker 2: says dedicated to Aaron Fraser, and I sent it to
- 31:56Speaker 2: my what I thought were her children, well it was
- 31:59Speaker 2: her children, but also the somehow the people from England
- 32:01Speaker 2: and about one hundred people, and I said, I dedicated
- 32:03Speaker 2: this to your mother and then and they're like and
- 32:06Speaker 2: I didn't even know I did it. And about a
- 32:08Speaker 2: month later, my son's like, oh my god, and I
- 32:11Speaker 2: was like what. He's like, Mom, you sent that? You said,
- 32:14Speaker 2: I dedicated my film to your mother to about one
- 32:16Speaker 2: hundred people, so I had to write to individually except
- 32:20Speaker 2: for the three kids.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I'm sorry, but I didn't to the British stuffy people.
- 32:24Speaker 2: By the way, I didn't dedicate to his mother to
- 32:26Speaker 2: where this guy writes back, I was wondering, because you've
- 32:29Speaker 2: never met my mother.
- 32:31Speaker 4: I was like, oh my god, he said.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Apparently apparently exactly dedicated, like I met you.
- 32:42Speaker 4: I didn't even meet you know. I told you took
- 32:43Speaker 4: them five seconds. And they asked me to go out
- 32:45Speaker 4: with Like they'd be like, should we go out for beer?
- 32:48Speaker 2: And they'd be like, I was like, I feel like
- 32:50Speaker 2: eighth grade, was like, are you gonna ask me to
- 32:51Speaker 2: go to I guess not. Oh, I didn't care.
- 32:54Speaker 4: These people like that suck. We don't like them anyway.
- 32:58Speaker 4: We don't like them anyway.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 33:00Speaker 3: And it's so funny that they say New York are
- 33:02Speaker 3: so rude. I think we're the nicest, the nicest. I
- 33:05Speaker 3: think we're we're the most abrupt people like yeah, honest,
- 33:08Speaker 3: but honest, Like you're like you're standing like like what
- 33:11Speaker 3: I mean? Like this, I don't know if you've ever
- 33:12Speaker 3: seen if you ever seen Colin Quinn's I love cond
- 33:15Speaker 3: I love him, and he talks about how New York
- 33:17Speaker 3: got there swag and he says, you know, New York
- 33:20Speaker 3: is like, you know, even though we're abrupt, it's like,
- 33:22Speaker 3: you know, I think it's rude if somebody stands online
- 33:25Speaker 3: and they come in there and there's one hundred people
- 33:26Speaker 3: in mine and this guy's upon the contrat You're going, Hi,
- 33:29Speaker 3: how are you today? How you deal when there's fifty people.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm a blowing conversation and then everybody just
- 33:34Speaker 3: wants to get their coffee.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Come in and give me my give my god damn
- 33:38Speaker 4: slice exactly.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Colin Aaron actually was talking about the beast Way. They
- 33:41Speaker 2: were very good friends, same humor. We used to go
- 33:43Speaker 2: see Colin shows all the time. He's so funny, He's hysterical,
- 33:46Speaker 2: but you know he grasps New York perfectly perfectly.
- 33:49Speaker 4: What he talks about the Italians was my favorite part. Oh,
- 33:53Speaker 4: he goes, he goes, Anthony, he goes.
- 33:55Speaker 3: We were playing in the street and he goes and
- 33:58Speaker 3: somebody hit Anthony's Anthony his father's car or something like that,
- 34:01Speaker 3: and Anthony's father came out and everyone everybody knew what
- 34:04Speaker 3: was gonna happen to Anthony except for Anthony. And he's like,
- 34:07Speaker 3: Anthony's fuss, going, I can't believe I am you this?
- 34:10Speaker 2: Oh my god, Well people people from New Jersey to
- 34:14Speaker 2: Actually this happened to me when I hurt my stupid
- 34:16Speaker 2: back and I had to go to physical therapy. And
- 34:18Speaker 2: I hear this guy because they put your little curtains here,
- 34:20Speaker 2: all the little different copies, and then the doctor kind
- 34:22Speaker 2: of comes to you like a bird, like giving a
- 34:23Speaker 2: warm teach bird. And I hear this guy say, you
- 34:26Speaker 2: ever see uh documentary about the octopus? You know that
- 34:32Speaker 2: one that's really popular now, It's called the Octopus Teacher.
- 34:34Speaker 2: And the physical therapist is like no, and he goes,
- 34:36Speaker 2: you could have a relationship with an octopus, And the
- 34:39Speaker 2: physical therapists like you, you can't. The only person you
- 34:42Speaker 2: could have relationship is your wife's in the Bible. And
- 34:44Speaker 2: he goes, no, you could have a relationship with the octopus.
- 34:46Speaker 2: He comes, he comes in my copy and he knows
- 34:49Speaker 2: relationship with an octopus. He whips of the bird and
- 34:53Speaker 2: he's patient. It's hysterical. But you can't see that kind
- 34:57Speaker 2: of personality. You you go, then you start like heading
- 35:00Speaker 2: west out of New York and New Jersey gets a
- 35:01Speaker 2: little dup.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Yeah it does. And people in la are they are
- 35:05Speaker 4: the worst people.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I lasted their two years. I couldn't take it.
- 35:09Speaker 3: You know why because everybody's transient there, like in thew Yeah, right,
- 35:14Speaker 3: when they really care about themselves exercising, so they get
- 35:19Speaker 3: up early.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I'd be like, well, I get out of a show
- 35:21Speaker 2: or something and be like, where is everybody? They want
- 35:23Speaker 2: to look good, so they're exercising.
- 35:25Speaker 4: That's it.
- 35:26Speaker 3: It's very transient. They maybe know a friends for maybe
- 35:29Speaker 3: a year or two, right, how do you? I know?
- 35:31Speaker 4: Friends?
- 35:32Speaker 3: For you?
- 35:32Speaker 4: Probably that's right for forty fifty years of friends with people. Yes, yes,
- 35:36Speaker 4: I think it's just the way we were raised.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Remember the Seinfeld when he says somebody wants to be
- 35:40Speaker 2: friends with their thirties.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Like, that's weird.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Why do they want to friends with their thirties? I
- 35:44Speaker 2: have my friends, you know.
- 35:46Speaker 3: But I will say, and as I've gotten older, that
- 35:48Speaker 3: what people that I've met. Now, when I'm older, I
- 35:52Speaker 3: feel like I can have newer relationships. Not everybody, because
- 35:55Speaker 3: I don't like people.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I don't like everybody.
- 35:58Speaker 3: You know, I'll say that I don't want to be
- 35:59Speaker 3: a friend. I don't want to cultivate. I never wanted
- 36:01Speaker 3: to cultivate friendships. I try to here to come to
- 36:04Speaker 3: people out of my life already, but.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I'm trying to trim the fact, try to whittle things down.
- 36:08Speaker 3: But I find that I find myself finding more like
- 36:11Speaker 3: people that I do like. So I made a couple
- 36:14Speaker 3: of adult friends in the last few Yes, yes.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I think too like.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I feel like I could be deal.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I was just gonna say that, but I didn't want
- 36:21Speaker 2: to be too much. I didn't want to be too forward.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Say we could romance together?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Yes, instead of a bromance, I'm a say you got friends,
- 36:32Speaker 3: we cut through the dude cheer and a homemance together now,
- 36:34Speaker 3: but you could be pot now and I love it.
- 36:36Speaker 4: I love it.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Hey, wait, I heard you and Kathy more already on
- 36:39Speaker 2: and you know we were both in the Hell's the
- 36:42Speaker 2: name of the movie? I was in with Jeff with
- 36:44Speaker 2: Gerard Butler and Jennifer are.
- 36:46Speaker 4: So hot bounty hunter.
- 36:47Speaker 2: So she was awesome in it. So he's so smoking hot,
- 36:50Speaker 2: He's so hot. Well we kissed.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Ah was that tongue?
- 36:55Speaker 2: Well Italian? So I on the street. We were filming
- 36:57Speaker 2: the streets of Brooklyn. This is like kind of beginning
- 36:59Speaker 2: of phones. And he was a bail bondsman and I
- 37:03Speaker 2: was his secretary. So he comes home and I can't
- 37:06Speaker 2: remember the character. So but we he sees me and
- 37:08Speaker 2: we kiss, and he goes and he takes my gum.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I go, he took my gam Anyway, I'm like, oh
- 37:14Speaker 2: my god, I can't blay kiss Gerard Butler. Maybe I've
- 37:16Speaker 2: still got it. And my friend, who's her name is
- 37:18Speaker 2: also Chevrone. She's from Woodside, Queens and it was summertime,
- 37:21Speaker 2: so I'd gone upstate Syracuse and she calls me. He goes, Chivon.
- 37:25Speaker 2: She said they made funny one I entertainment. I go,
- 37:30Speaker 2: what do they say? She goes, do you want to
- 37:31Speaker 2: hear it's kind of mean? I go, yes, tell me
- 37:33Speaker 2: because I think that that's fine.
- 37:33Speaker 4: And she goes.
- 37:34Speaker 2: They said, is that Chavon Falanjo and kissing Gerard Butler
- 37:40Speaker 2: or is that Susan Boyle. Remember Susan Boyle. She was
- 37:42Speaker 2: the really talented woman on British got talent, yes, and
- 37:48Speaker 2: she's but and I told you she's Scottish, And I said, Gerard,
- 37:54Speaker 2: I love her, though I'm sure she'd be insulted too
- 37:56Speaker 2: by the way. I'm sorry, but no, so I said Gerard.
- 38:00Speaker 2: They made fun of me. And I told him exactly
- 38:02Speaker 2: what I just told you, and he said he's from Scotland.
- 38:05Speaker 2: He goes, that's not very nice. It's much better looking
- 38:08Speaker 2: than you are. And I was like, deah, but I
- 38:14Speaker 2: got to kiss him, So who cares?
- 38:15Speaker 4: Right exactly? You got to kiss him. Yeah, that's why
- 38:18Speaker 4: they were jealous.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, my kids are.
- 38:20Speaker 4: You gave him a good one. Oh, yes, I have
- 38:22Speaker 4: gotten my People.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Used to call me lips because lips were not big.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Lips were popular back in the day.
- 38:27Speaker 4: You know, they weren't.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I played I played the French horn in high school
- 38:31Speaker 2: and my mother had to talk with me.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Did you do anything else with the French horn?
- 38:34Speaker 2: Oh? Come on, you dirty thing. Now we can't be fronts.
- 38:38Speaker 2: So so my mother was like, Shawn, I was really
- 38:40Speaker 2: pretty good at it, and so and plenty since fifth grade,
- 38:43Speaker 2: no one plays the French short so so ninth grade.
- 38:46Speaker 2: My mother's like, I wanted to talk to you, she said.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I ran an article in Time magazine and it says
- 38:51Speaker 2: that the lip, the muscle on your lip is called
- 38:54Speaker 2: your ambishre, and if you play it a brass instrument,
- 38:57Speaker 2: it can get really big. So I think you should quit.
- 39:00Speaker 4: So I did.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Because none of the boys liked me, so I quit,
- 39:03Speaker 2: and then they still didn't like me. So I took
- 39:04Speaker 2: it back up and senior year in high school. But
- 39:07Speaker 2: that was really too many years had passed, so there
- 39:09Speaker 2: was that I thought it maybe be in the symphony
- 39:11Speaker 2: or something. But she she, she, she screwed up my career.
- 39:16Speaker 4: All over it.
- 39:16Speaker 3: And look today, you would be right in with everybody
- 39:19Speaker 3: else would right I would probably be over it, you know,
