Chase Ends in Tragedy on City Streets | Topeka News
A pedestrian died early this morning after being struck by a fleeing white Chevrolet Trax near 18th and Prospect Avenue, as Missouri State Highway Patrol chased the driver. The trooper ended the pursuit immediately and rushed to help, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remains at large, and Kansas City Police are investigating — this is the 43rd traffic fatality they’ve handled this year, nearly matching last year’s total.
