Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, here she is, live and direct from Windy City, Chicago,
- 0:10Speaker 1: the city of the broad shoulders. It's Victoria, and she's
- 0:14Speaker 1: got a Real Housewives and Mormon Wives update for us.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Both of them this time, Victoria?
- 0:21Speaker 2: I have news about the Mormon Wives.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We, the royal we, watched whatever they had for the
- 0:28Speaker 2: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. That was five episodes. But
- 0:31Speaker 2: there was something showed up on my feed. There is
- 0:34Speaker 2: now going to be Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in
- 0:37Speaker 2: Orange County. What? And that starts on November 12th. And
- 0:43Speaker 2: they're going to drop 10 episodes on Hulu. So I
- 0:45Speaker 2: will dip my toe into that and then let you
- 0:47Speaker 2: all know.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Conservative Mormon women in Orange County.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Okay. It sounds like it's a little more dynamic, like
- 0:55Speaker 2: it's more mixed, because they're bringing Jen over, who is
- 0:58Speaker 2: my least favorite mom talker, over. She's now moved to
- 1:02Speaker 2: Orange County, so she's the anchor from the original. But
- 1:07Speaker 2: what I saw in the trailer, it's a mix of
- 1:09Speaker 2: some of the women are Mormon, and then some of
- 1:11Speaker 2: them are not, and then they're influencers. I think what's
- 1:14Speaker 2: bringing them together is that they're young mothers. And so
- 1:18Speaker 2: based on the trailer, there could be some interesting conversations
- 1:20Speaker 2: about the religion because also that idea of being Mormon
- 1:24Speaker 2: outside of Utah and outside of, you know, how it
- 1:26Speaker 2: would be really interesting. So I'll dip my toe into
- 1:28Speaker 2: it in a couple weeks and let you all know.
- 1:30Speaker 2: But this week we just have The Real Housewives of
- 1:31Speaker 2: Salt Lake City.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Oh, shucks.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Well, and actually for many reasons, you don't even know, Bill.
- 1:38Speaker 2: So this is, we're in season seven, which I still
- 1:41Speaker 2: can't believe in. It's super exciting for my sake, not
- 1:44Speaker 2: for everybody else's. But so this is episode six. It's
- 1:47Speaker 2: called Boss Up or Shut Up. It was, I thought
- 1:50Speaker 2: this episode was very, very boring. I have my post
- 1:53Speaker 2: that I sent you all and then I put on
- 1:55Speaker 2: my Instagram at judgy empath. I only gave it one
- 1:58Speaker 2: and a half snowflakes out of five. I think the
- 2:01Speaker 2: vibes are really off, and I think we're trying very
- 2:05Speaker 2: hard to make things interesting. I mean, one of the
- 2:08Speaker 2: reasons I show up is to watch them argue and
- 2:11Speaker 2: try and understand the argument and take sides. And the
- 2:14Speaker 2: arguments that come up this week, they're convoluted, I think,
- 2:19Speaker 2: and not very interesting. But we'll get into as much
- 2:21Speaker 2: as sounds like we're talking about. Also, the quotes weren't
- 2:23Speaker 2: very good. Usually, like, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake
- 2:26Speaker 2: City really deliver on their quotes. And also they're trying
- 2:28Speaker 2: too hard. But if you want to sound like you watched,
- 2:33Speaker 2: what we had the main event, which only took like
- 2:36Speaker 2: 15 to 20 minutes of the episode, is Mary invites
- 2:39Speaker 2: everyone to a boss brunch. So Mary has been in
- 2:43Speaker 2: the first five episodes a little bit held back from
- 2:45Speaker 2: the activities of the women. You know, she's still grieving
- 2:48Speaker 2: the loss of her son. Mm-hmm. And so she didn't
- 2:51Speaker 2: go on the girl trip to San Francisco. We're back
- 2:54Speaker 2: in Salt Lake. So she wants to bring everybody together.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And she says she wants them to act like bosses
- 2:58Speaker 2: and forgive each other. Brittany's daughter has a 21st birthday.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Angie says that Brittany visits people in nursing homes to
- 3:06Speaker 2: try and get in their widow. What? That's funny. I
- 3:10Speaker 2: would actually pass Brittany.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Hey, that's kind of a good idea, though.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Totally. Lisa, what did Lisa say? Like God's waiting room
- 3:19Speaker 2: or something? Brittany's hanging out in there. And remember, Brittany's
- 3:24Speaker 2: the one who was dating and not dating Jared Osmond.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So this is totally in her wheelhouse. And then Mary
- 3:30Speaker 2: refuses to drink a 2013 Dom Perignon.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Is that not a good year?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Oh, that's not a good year. She says it's a
- 3:39Speaker 2: snooze fest. Oh, wow. Anyway, so that was the best part.
- 3:46Speaker 2: We're done. All right. But getting into more about the
- 3:52Speaker 2: boss brunch, I put an additional post on this with
- 3:55Speaker 2: some pictures. Because I know everybody's wondering... What happened at
- 3:58Speaker 2: this boss brunch in the 15 to 20 minutes of
- 4:01Speaker 2: the middle of the episode? They did hold it at
- 4:03Speaker 2: Mar Montagna, which, good choice for the location.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Oh, right over here.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yes. Mary loves a dress code, so she gets very
- 4:13Speaker 2: specific about her dress code, and this has been a
- 4:15Speaker 2: thing where she... organizes these events, and then the women
- 4:18Speaker 2: don't follow the dress code. And Angie made sure to
- 4:21Speaker 2: not follow the dress code. So Mary, remember, it's boss brunch.
- 4:25Speaker 2: She wants boss women, not boss men. So she said,
- 4:28Speaker 2: no ties, because ties are for men. And so Angie
- 4:31Speaker 2: shows up in a tie, but no shirt. So if
- 4:36Speaker 2: you can tell in that post, and that was the
- 4:38Speaker 2: shot that they gave us at production. She has her
- 4:40Speaker 2: blazer with a tie, and then she has that lovely
- 4:42Speaker 2: Christian Dior pin, keeping it together. Mary's very upset about
- 4:48Speaker 2: the tie, first of all, but then also upset about
- 4:50Speaker 2: the no shirt. Because Angie can't take off her tie
- 4:53Speaker 2: or else, you know, there's not much else there. So
- 4:56Speaker 2: the again, Mary brought everyone together to resolve conflicts. These
- 5:00Speaker 2: conflicts are not very interesting. I put a picture of
- 5:02Speaker 2: Mary holding court at Marmontania. We're still talking about Whitney
- 5:09Speaker 2: at drag brunch and talking trash about marriage, which happened yesterday.
- 5:13Speaker 2: in between filming. This is not part of the regular season.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Whitney pivots or deflects by pointing out that Meredith and
- 5:21Speaker 2: Lisa are saying their hypocrisy and BS song at Bronwyn's party.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And then Meredith brings up issues with Whitney because of
- 5:27Speaker 2: something Kawhi told her. I'm not getting to get into
- 5:29Speaker 2: any of this because I don't know if it's actually
- 5:31Speaker 2: going to take root. And it's very boring and convoluted.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I just like the fact that you've put here, Mary.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Is very disappointed in everyone.
- 5:43Speaker 2: She was. She went around the table, and she said that.
- 5:48Speaker 2: She said she wants them to get on their knees.
- 5:50Speaker 2: That's how disappointed.
- 5:52Speaker 1: She is in them. I am so disappointed.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I'm really curious. And really, it was, again, like, I
- 5:59Speaker 2: don't hate this for the show, but it's just not
- 6:02Speaker 2: our usual. And also, Mary has not been the leader
- 6:05Speaker 2: of the group. And so I'm curious if this is
- 6:08Speaker 2: also something that takes hold as far as her trying
- 6:11Speaker 2: to be the one to lead them, because they don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: really want to apologize to each other. But, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 2: she's going through real grief. And so I do think
- 6:19Speaker 2: her lesson, part of her disappointment is like, you know, y'all, like,
- 6:22Speaker 2: life is short. I need you to get it together. Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 2: But then we don't have a show, so I don't know.
- 6:27Speaker 2: How much time do I have? Because there's a whole
- 6:29Speaker 2: thing with Bronwyn that I don't know if it's worth
- 6:30Speaker 2: getting into. Yeah, we've got to wrap this up. Well,
- 6:32Speaker 2: don't worry. It's not going anywhere.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'll bring it back. Do you think maybe that they
- 6:38Speaker 1: are being victims of their own success? They know that
- 6:41Speaker 1: a lot of people like the show, and so now
- 6:44Speaker 1: they're trying too hard.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Bill, that is so insightful. Yeah, 100%. And when we
- 6:50Speaker 2: get into this thing with Bronwyn, it's one of their
- 6:52Speaker 2: most successful seasons involved Monica, who defrauded them, and Monica's
- 6:56Speaker 2: not there anymore. And so I think they're trying to
- 6:59Speaker 2: create that level of drama, and I totally agree. And
- 7:01Speaker 2: I think this happens a lot, but Salt Lake specifically
- 7:04Speaker 2: has been really successful, and it's coming back to bite them,
- 7:07Speaker 2: so we'll see.
- 7:07Speaker 1: All right. Thank you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm actually going to just call my... Okay, well, then
- 7:11Speaker 2: I'll talk to you all next week.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Okay. Judgy Empath is where you'll find... all of that stuff.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Thanks, Victoria. All the stuff I'm watching. Thanks so much, guys.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Talk to you soon. Bye-bye.
