Capay Valley’s residents are facing relentless power outages—over 900 people hit by 12 blackouts since mid-July—with causes ranging from tree branches to car accidents. PG&E now calls the situation “unacceptable” and is adjusting safety settings in the Madison area to improve reliability. These “Powerline Safety Settings,” introduced in 2021 to prevent wildfires, may be inadvertently causing frequent outages.
