- 0:02Speaker 1: It's variety big ninety eight point seven. Is there something
- 0:05Speaker 1: it seems like everybody owns and you just don't happen
- 0:10Speaker 1: to have one? Also, probably gonna see some snow today,
- 0:13Speaker 1: maybe some rain mixed in and we hang out at
- 0:15Speaker 1: about twenty nine seven oh one two eight zero one
- 0:18Speaker 1: nine eight seven. What is something everyone else has that
- 0:22Speaker 1: you just haven't grabbed yet? And I am not talking
- 0:24Speaker 1: about a mansion. Okay, not everyone has a mansion. Not
- 0:27Speaker 1: everyone has a brand new, fancy car, not even close.
- 0:31Speaker 1: But is there something in your house, Angie, that you.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Just don't have?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Not in my house?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Rather, oh yeah, sorry, something that's not in your house
- 0:38Speaker 1: that's in every house you visit.
- 0:40Speaker 4: This is just I think because I moved here and
- 0:43Speaker 4: I just packed all when I moved here, I packed
- 0:46Speaker 4: all of my stuff into my Mazda, and if it
- 0:48Speaker 4: didn't fit, I didn't bring it, And so there was
- 0:51Speaker 4: a lot I had to buy when I got here.
- 0:53Speaker 4: And one thing that's been missing, and especially in this weather,
- 0:58Speaker 4: how dare I not have one? A crockpot? You don't
- 1:03Speaker 4: have a cry I do not have a crockpot.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I thought when you crossed over into the Midwest state
- 1:08Speaker 1: lines that was one of the things. They checked your ID,
- 1:13Speaker 1: your license plate and tabs were up to date, and
- 1:15Speaker 1: then did you have a crockpot in the car?
- 1:18Speaker 3: I must have made it past that checkpoint.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I did ask for one for Christmas, though, and like
- 1:24Speaker 4: I know, I will be receiving it for Christmas, So
- 1:26Speaker 4: for the rest of the next thirty days, I will
- 1:30Speaker 4: still not have a crockpot.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Did you ask for a crockpot or an instapot? They're different, Oh,
- 1:35Speaker 1: a crockpot. I don't want an instapot. I got an
- 1:39Speaker 1: entire beef with instapots. But we'll talk about that on
- 1:41Speaker 1: a different day. I mean, it's completely false advertising. But
- 1:45Speaker 1: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 1:48Speaker 1: something you don't own that everyone else seems to have, Drake.
- 1:51Speaker 5: I don't own a microwave, so all my friends do.
- 1:54Speaker 5: But I just use my air fryer. I use it
- 1:56Speaker 5: for everything, and there's no need for a microwave these days.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You know. He does sort of have a point, except
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'm a little confused on can you air fry liquids?
- 2:06Speaker 4: No? Wait, what do you mean all like heating up?
- 2:10Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, did we just find out this man
- 2:13Speaker 4: doesn't eat soup not a part of the suit judging you,
- 2:17Speaker 4: Jessica said, a Stanley cup.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of girls who have real
- 2:22Speaker 1: Stanley cups. But I also think there's a lot of
- 2:23Speaker 1: girls with family cups out there, Jessica, so you don't
- 2:26Speaker 1: have to worry too much. And a family of course,
- 2:29Speaker 1: A faul Stanley, fake Stanley, that's right, Becky. A coffee maker.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You have a coffee maker at your house.
- 2:35Speaker 4: I do, but it was a gift. I was gifted
- 2:39Speaker 4: one for my birthday. You still again, the coffee maker
- 2:41Speaker 4: did not make it in the mood.
- 2:43Speaker 1: My wife has a coffee maker that I swear takes
- 2:46Speaker 1: a NASA degreet to just brew coffee.
- 2:48Speaker 2: But I guess it's like two buttons. I just don't
- 2:50Speaker 2: know what they are.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And then, uh, for me, Angie, I one thing that
- 2:55Speaker 1: I've always kind of wanted to have and never got,
- 2:59Speaker 1: as we did just here from our boy Drake was
- 3:02Speaker 1: an air fryer.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I don't have one.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I think a ton of people do, and I just
- 3:08Speaker 1: don't know if I can use it to the It's
- 3:11Speaker 1: not fast enough for me, you know what I'm saying.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I use the microwave to like heat up leftovers. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: which an air frier is great? Four obviously, or soup
- 3:19Speaker 1: the ungodly amount of soup that your boy eats here.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I don't know if you can do an air fryer
- 3:24Speaker 1: with soup.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I don't think so either. That doesn't sound possible to me.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think so either. Let me know seven
- 3:31Speaker 1: oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: don't have an air fryer. It seems like everyone else
- 3:35Speaker 1: on planet Earth does.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Is there a soup setting that air setting exactly?
- 3:41Speaker 1: And then finally, Andrew, we have one more because Jason, please,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm sure you're a great guy.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Jason.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I love you, and I thank you for hanging out
- 3:48Speaker 1: with us here on Big ninety eight point seven. Don't
- 3:50Speaker 1: ever text me though, ever, Bro, Jason does not own
- 3:54Speaker 1: an iPhone, and it seems like everyone does. If I
- 3:57Speaker 1: get a text with green bubbles.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm instantly judging you.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Celebrating life's little victories every morning, we practiced gratitude on
- 4:10Speaker 6: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:12Speaker 5: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:14Speaker 5: blasket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 4:20Speaker 6: two eight oh one ninety eight seven kids.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I also needed to win that day.
- 4:26Speaker 4: My little victory, Gabe is although the fact we've had
- 4:31Speaker 4: our Christmas tree up since November. Oh, I want to
- 4:34Speaker 4: save fourteenth and it's a prelate Christmas tree, so it
- 4:38Speaker 4: looks nice. But we finally yesterday decorated the tree with
- 4:44Speaker 4: some actual ornaments. Wow. First we went to the Fargo
- 4:48Speaker 4: Dome to see the Festival of Trees so we could
- 4:50Speaker 4: get some inspiration. And then when we got home, we
- 4:55Speaker 4: cracked open the ornaments and we put them all on
- 4:57Speaker 4: the tree, so it looks like a but Christmas tree.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's wonderful news for you. That's a great little victory.
- 5:03Speaker 1: You have something to look forward to every single time
- 5:05Speaker 1: you go in. I'm gonna assume the living room.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yes, it's yeah living all right.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Well, a big shout out to Rachel this morning, she said,
- 5:12Speaker 1: Angie and Gabe.
- 5:14Speaker 2: My little victory today.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I finally got all my laundry done, folded and put
- 5:19Speaker 1: away in the same day last night. Honestly shocked. It
- 5:23Speaker 1: feels like I unlocked a new level of adulthood. That's
- 5:26Speaker 1: not just a little victory. That's almost a miracle. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 1: getting all of that done in one day. You know what,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I'm actually pretty good about but horrible about the other one.
- 5:34Speaker 2: There's a ying in a gang.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You know, there's balance when it comes to laundry, right,
- 5:38Speaker 1: pretty solid start kit, transferring it over and then getting
- 5:41Speaker 1: it out of there. So if my wife wants to
- 5:43Speaker 1: do some laundry, she doesn't have to worry about like, my, ea,
- 5:46Speaker 1: my clothes being in the way or just throwing them.
- 5:48Speaker 2: On our laundry spot. I feel like everyone has the
- 5:51Speaker 2: spot by the way for that.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I am horrid about when they're done clean, laid out
- 5:58Speaker 1: nice on the laundry spots so they don't get wrinkled
- 6:01Speaker 1: or whatever. I then transferring them to said bedroom. That's
- 6:04Speaker 1: like a forty eight hour mission for me.
- 6:06Speaker 4: But do they even get folded too? And you just
- 6:09Speaker 4: won't transfer them over?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Well, I don't fold my clothes really like my pants.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I do, but everything just gets hung up. I use
- 6:16Speaker 1: a hangar for almost everything, so I don't even have
- 6:19Speaker 1: the excuse of oh, I got to fold them now.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's just that that process of walking from laundry to
- 6:26Speaker 1: the other side of the house to room is just
- 6:29Speaker 1: a nightmare. So get that, Rachel. That's a plus one
- 6:32Speaker 1: for you today. All right, wait to go to Rachel
- 6:34Speaker 1: here on Big ninety eight point seven. All right, my
- 6:36Speaker 1: little victory is both a plus and minus. I am
- 6:39Speaker 1: the world's worst younger brother in the history of life. Yesterday,
- 6:43Speaker 1: my brother and I were playing some call of duty,
- 6:45Speaker 1: just you know, we got nothing to do, and let's go,
- 6:47Speaker 1: you know, play some cod for an hour and a half,
- 6:49Speaker 1: two hours or whatever. And him and I are just
- 6:51Speaker 1: sitting having a good time. My buddy Tony's playing. We're
- 6:53Speaker 1: just enjoying a Monday, you know, talking about our Thanksgiving plans.
- 6:56Speaker 2: YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 6:58Speaker 1: The little victory is my older brother turned thirty I
- 7:03Speaker 1: believe eight yesterday, so you believe Happy birthday. Happy birthday
- 7:09Speaker 1: to him. No, he is the he turns thirty eight.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And I talked to this man for two two and
- 7:13Speaker 1: a half hours. Not one I forgot, not one Happy birthday.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Nothing. I completely forgot.
- 7:21Speaker 4: So how you literally told me, I know your work yesterday.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I know it's my brother's birthday.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's not that I forgot his. It was
- 7:29Speaker 1: his birthday. I just sort of forgot that I hadn't
- 7:31Speaker 1: said happy birthday. So my older brother being the nice
- 7:34Speaker 1: brother that he is. I texted him at about eight
- 7:37Speaker 1: thirty last night and was like, hey, I know we
- 7:40Speaker 1: conversated for upwards of two hours or so earlier today,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but happy birthday. I hope you had a good day.
- 7:47Speaker 1: He said, ha ha, it's all good. Thanks man. So
- 7:50Speaker 1: a nice little little victory that I did wish my
- 7:53Speaker 1: brother happy birthday. In the long run, better late than
- 7:57Speaker 1: That's right? All right, stop, do not make your bed
- 8:06Speaker 1: if you have woke up and Big the Big ninety
- 8:09Speaker 1: eight point seven morning Show is your alarm, or maybe
- 8:11Speaker 1: you're eating breakfast thinking, oh, I better go make my
- 8:13Speaker 1: bed real quick.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 8:15Speaker 1: If you do, you're gonna want to shower before and
- 8:18Speaker 1: after you go to sleep.
- 8:19Speaker 4: All right, Why I'm sorry. I'm like here, like, why
- 8:27Speaker 4: why are you telling me? Because you don't got to
- 8:29Speaker 4: worry about me. I am absolutely not making my bed.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Sorry, we had the contact where the eye contact there,
- 8:36Speaker 1: we weren't in ESPN. I thought you were giving me something, right, Okay,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you should not make your bed as soon as you
- 8:43Speaker 1: wake up. That thing your parents tell you kids, I
- 8:47Speaker 1: tell them it is full of junk.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Okay, do not make your bed.
- 8:51Speaker 1: The second and you wake up, and here's why this
- 8:53Speaker 1: is kind of gross.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Okay, so you're ready.
- 8:56Speaker 2: You're not a bed maker?
- 8:57Speaker 5: No?
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah, no, my boyfriend Mike, he makes the bed. You know,
- 9:02Speaker 4: I'm ready to have the facts as to why.
- 9:04Speaker 6: No.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so, Cory and I don't really do that either.
- 9:06Speaker 1: We do obviously if people are coming over or something
- 9:09Speaker 1: and don't want it to look like junk. But when
- 9:11Speaker 1: you sleep, did you know your body gives off heat
- 9:15Speaker 1: and sweat and it soaks into your bedding. If you
- 9:19Speaker 1: make the bed right when you get up, all you're
- 9:23Speaker 1: doing is creating a.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Little hot pocket.
- 9:26Speaker 1: All that sweat and grossness just gets trapped into the bed.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You literally seal it in there like a burrito.
- 9:33Speaker 3: A bacteria burrito.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Watch.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Instead, what you need to do is let the
- 9:40Speaker 1: bed air out for thirty to sixty minutes before making it.
- 9:44Speaker 1: So essentially we have found the argument to quite literally, kids,
- 9:48Speaker 1: never ever have to make your bed. Who on earth
- 9:51Speaker 1: gets up with a full hour before they have to
- 9:54Speaker 1: go to work? That I thought we all just gave
- 9:57Speaker 1: ourselves like twenty minutes and then we sort of just
- 9:59Speaker 1: raw dog get through life.
- 10:01Speaker 3: You are absolutely correct.
- 10:02Speaker 4: So, yeah, kids, you wake up, you get ready for
- 10:05Speaker 4: school and all.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Can't make the bed.
- 10:07Speaker 4: It has been sixty minutes.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Mom, that's right, And then you get home from school,
- 10:12Speaker 3: and at that point who cares.
- 10:13Speaker 2: If the bed is made? Exactly? I want you to
- 10:16Speaker 2: use this these words today.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Okay, if you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, hubby, wife,
- 10:21Speaker 1: or you're a kid, and you have someone in your
- 10:23Speaker 1: life who would like you to make the bed. I'm
- 10:25Speaker 1: sure Corey would love it if I made the bed
- 10:27Speaker 1: every morning. Not possible because I leave before she does.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But if you hit him with oh, it turns into
- 10:34Speaker 1: a bacteria burrito. That will stop up the bed making
- 10:38Speaker 1: request very soon.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Amen.
- 10:42Speaker 2: In the world of rules in Gray Areas, one morning
- 10:44Speaker 2: show dares to ask the hard questions. Is it legal
- 10:47Speaker 2: for a child to wear that much makeup? Is it legal?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I understand, I.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Understand it's funny as all get out, but is it
- 10:54Speaker 4: even legal?
- 10:54Speaker 2: On Big ninety eight point seven, Gabe.
- 10:58Speaker 4: One thing about me is that I am terrified of birds,
- 11:04Speaker 4: and you're telling me that there is a scenario where
- 11:08Speaker 4: I could be trapped in my driveway by.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Geese and there's nothing I can do about it.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Oh, it's not just gee, s Angie but in North
- 11:17Speaker 1: Dakota it is absolutely illegal to disturb nesting birds thanks
- 11:24Speaker 1: to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and state law, which means,
- 11:27Speaker 1: if a goose, duck, or any other feathered diva decides
- 11:31Speaker 1: to start a family in the middle of your driveway, congratulations,
- 11:34Speaker 1: they own the driveway.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Now all right, I want you to picture this.
- 11:37Speaker 1: You're running late for work, coffee in one hand, your
- 11:40Speaker 1: sanity in the other.
- 11:41Speaker 2: You step outside and.
- 11:43Speaker 1: There she is a Canada goose sitting on a nest,
- 11:48Speaker 1: looking like she's paying the mortgage, and really she's living
- 11:51Speaker 1: rent free. You try to reason with her, maybe she
- 11:53Speaker 1: gives you a classy but threatening look. That's as move
- 11:57Speaker 1: me and you're going to federal prison. And also I
- 12:00Speaker 1: might bite you, and she's right disturbing that nest, big fines,
- 12:05Speaker 1: possible jail time. Plus I mean, I'll be honest, I
- 12:08Speaker 1: don't want to pick a fight with a goose. They
- 12:09Speaker 1: would definitely win. So remember here in North Dakota, if
- 12:13Speaker 1: a bird decides to nest near you, you're no longer
- 12:17Speaker 1: in charge. Just hand over the driveway, give them, in
- 12:20Speaker 1: my opinion, the garage door opener, and send a thank
- 12:23Speaker 1: you note every Christmas for them allowing you to live.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Where you live.
- 12:27Speaker 3: New Nightmare Unlock.
- 12:31Speaker 2: It's that time of the year.
- 12:32Speaker 1: We're gonna start seeing that snow that's slush. Your car
- 12:36Speaker 1: is gonna get full of sault. And the days are
- 12:39Speaker 1: just kind of getting shorter. It just is what it is.
- 12:42Speaker 1: That's part of life. You can't stop it. And with
- 12:45Speaker 1: these shorter winter days, did you know I learned this yesterday?
- 12:48Speaker 1: They can throw off our circadian rhythms, which affect sleep, digestion, metabolism,
- 12:57Speaker 1: all of these things, and during this time of the
- 12:59Speaker 1: year really affect sleep and eating. And so some researchers
- 13:04Speaker 1: have come out and said, hey, if in the summer,
- 13:07Speaker 1: maybe you eat at six o'clock because the sun's perfectly
- 13:10Speaker 1: out and there's no reason not to. Should we be
- 13:13Speaker 1: eating earlier in the winter, closer to maybe four four thirty. Now,
- 13:17Speaker 1: obviously for some people that's not possible because they're at work. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but I was wondering, what time do you normally eat dinner?
- 13:24Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Are you on like the earlier side of the spectrum
- 13:31Speaker 1: or are you way way way late. I have a buddy,
- 13:34Speaker 1: this man would he'd be like ordering his Uber eats
- 13:39Speaker 1: or whatever at nine to thirty PM.
- 13:43Speaker 3: That's when he's eating dinner. Yeah, isn't that insane? No,
- 13:47Speaker 3: that is what I know.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Going for four hours.
- 13:50Speaker 3: That is crazy to me.
- 13:51Speaker 2: No, I left that response pm PM.
- 13:54Speaker 4: No, I definitely because of the nature of the morning show.
- 13:59Speaker 4: I go to bed as rely is humanly possible. So
- 14:01Speaker 4: my dinner is usually about four pm. Always. That changes
- 14:06Speaker 4: when it's a holiday, when it's Thanksgiving or when it's
- 14:10Speaker 4: Christmas Eve dinner. I'm Cuban, b so dinner is at
- 14:15Speaker 4: like eight pm.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Oh, I see. To me, that would be kind of late.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 4: I feel like anybody I know who's I guess white.
- 14:24Speaker 4: They sorry I've said that weird, but like, so, I'm Cuban,
- 14:29Speaker 4: but my ex is white, my current man white, and
- 14:33Speaker 4: he'll be the last man.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Don't listen to that, Mikey I met, You're the one forever.
- 14:37Speaker 4: The point is they eat their Thanksgiving dinner around two
- 14:41Speaker 4: PM or something, and that is crazy to me.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think wet Thanksgiving dinner at like one.
- 14:48Speaker 3: That is what is happening.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Why, well, because then you have it all day, you
- 14:55Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Then you can get your lefties.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It's five six o'clock. Who wants to do dishes at
- 14:59Speaker 1: nine pm?
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't know. I want to send a nice.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Comfortable, buzzed atmosphere taking a nap.
- 15:06Speaker 4: We snack the entire day and then eat Thanksgiving dinner
- 15:10Speaker 4: at like eight pm.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 15:14Speaker 1: When do you normally eat dinner, Bethany?
- 15:17Speaker 4: My kids turn into a loud, tiny anarchiss after five thirty.
- 15:21Speaker 5: If I don't eat before they do, I'm basically trying
- 15:23Speaker 5: to chew my food during a small riot.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Oh wow, Bethany's like five five fifteen. It sounds like
- 15:30Speaker 1: See at our house, we eat dinner at like five.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Corey gets home at four point thirty, and Corey sounds
- 15:36Speaker 1: Corey sounds a lot like Bethany's kids. Okay, I'm just crazy, psychle. No,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. But we eat fairly early. Yeah, and
- 15:45Speaker 1: then we I've just always been like that at the
- 15:48Speaker 1: Glynden house.
- 15:49Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 15:50Speaker 2: No, what about you, Brett? When do you eat dinner?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Many do?
- 15:53Speaker 6: We get home from work till about eight pm?
- 15:55Speaker 5: So when I eat, I keep telling my wife to
- 15:58Speaker 5: eat earlier, but she always waits for me.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Oh that's sweet.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Well, there's two scenarios here. Either A.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Brett's wife is very sweet and it sounds like she is,
- 16:09Speaker 1: or B Brett she is lying and eating and just
- 16:12Speaker 1: not telling you about it.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Okay, I'm scrambling to do the dishes. At seven thirty,
- 16:21Speaker 2: there was a.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Thirty three year old guy who just won a million
- 16:23Speaker 1: dollars after buying a scratch off ticket that a customer rejected.
- 16:28Speaker 1: All right, he spotted this ticket on this counter that
- 16:32Speaker 1: this guy he didn't want, or he wanted, but then
- 16:35Speaker 1: was like, hey, I changed my mind.
- 16:36Speaker 2: What have you?
- 16:37Speaker 6: So?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Of course, the way the world works, well you gotta
- 16:40Speaker 1: buy it then, yeah, and it turned out to be
- 16:41Speaker 1: a million dollar winner.
- 16:43Speaker 3: That is insane.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Have you ever made a decision that turned out really
- 16:47Speaker 1: good for someone else? This would be a perfect time
- 16:49Speaker 1: to remind you about the big Christmas wish brought to
- 16:52Speaker 1: you by Gateway Chevrolet. You could decide to nominate someone
- 16:55Speaker 1: who you think deserves a little extra help.
- 16:57Speaker 4: That's true, anybody who deserves a little extra help this
- 17:00Speaker 4: holiday season, or someone you think deserves some extra shine
- 17:04Speaker 4: for all the good that they've done throughout the year.
- 17:07Speaker 4: You can nominate them at Big nine eight seven dot com.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Just click on that big Christmas Wish.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Band seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Is there a decision you made that was really good
- 17:16Speaker 1: for someone else? And you know what, I'm doing a
- 17:18Speaker 1: little backpatent today.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Okay, let's pat that back, Gabe. What's going on?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Your boy made the decision to invite his buddy Saysar
- 17:25Speaker 1: to friends giving, which led to a ton of food
- 17:29Speaker 1: that Angie can and would eat.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Oh that's right, miss, that's right.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You missed this.
- 17:34Speaker 1: My buddy Ian, who we call SATs Are, he can't
- 17:37Speaker 1: really eat dairy, so basically everything we made was dairy
- 17:41Speaker 1: free butter. There were all kinds of things that didn't
- 17:44Speaker 1: have dairy in them.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 1: That allowed Angie to actually get a full stomach and
- 17:48Speaker 1: friends this past weekend.
- 17:50Speaker 4: The only thing I didn't really get in on was
- 17:52Speaker 4: obviously the turkey because I'm vegan. But all of the
- 17:55Speaker 4: creamed corn, the mashed potatoes, there was macaroni salad. There
- 17:59Speaker 4: was this excellent Russell sprouts dish that I need the
- 18:03Speaker 4: rest before.
- 18:04Speaker 3: But I really got to stuff my.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Face because you invited your friend Seysar, who cannot tolerate
- 18:11Speaker 4: dairy and then it worked out for me. You know what, Gabe,
- 18:14Speaker 4: I didn't give you enough credit for that. Thank you, sir,
- 18:17Speaker 4: Thank you, sir, Cary.
- 18:19Speaker 1: What's the decision you made that turned out really good
- 18:21Speaker 1: for someone else?
- 18:22Speaker 5: I was talking with this woman at a bar and
- 18:25Speaker 5: I had a little too much to drink, so I
- 18:27Speaker 5: decided to excuse myself and just you know, throw up outside,
- 18:31Speaker 5: and that's what a friend of mine swooped in, and
- 18:33Speaker 5: then he started talking to her, and now they've been
- 18:35Speaker 5: dating for almost two years.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Well good for you, and I believe Sorry I think
- 18:39Speaker 1: I said carry there. I think that was Carrie.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Oh okay, sorry about that, bro.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Anyway. Yeah, you never know what's gonna happen.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Man, One little decision or in this case, maybe a
- 18:48Speaker 1: screw up could be to something good for someone else.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Do gear up for Thanksgiving in a couple of days.
- 18:57Speaker 1: We've got also Black Friday coming up this week as well.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I've never once done Black Friday shopping. Really, I've gone
- 19:05Speaker 1: out at like eight pm, like after Oh that's so fun.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I remember I went and bought like a monitor once
- 19:13Speaker 1: on Black Friday. That turned out to be a pretty
- 19:14Speaker 1: good deal, but it was a nine pm.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I've done Black Friday shopping for the first time in history.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I'm trying to buy a TV on Black Friday.
- 19:24Speaker 2: That is the stereo stereotype. Yeah Friday shopping.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Yeah, very exciting to meet. Seven oh one two eight
- 19:30Speaker 4: o one nine eight seven. What was the last big
- 19:33Speaker 4: Black Friday deal that you actually went out and did
- 19:37Speaker 4: Black Friday for?
- 19:38Speaker 3: I do want to mention this.
- 19:40Speaker 4: This feels like a Black Friday deal, but it's just
- 19:43Speaker 4: the deal we've got going for the Cheers card.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yes.
- 19:47Speaker 4: So the Cheers Card is back for twenty twenty six.
- 19:50Speaker 4: All I got to do is head to Big nine
- 19:51Speaker 4: eight seven dot com. You're gonna click the Cheers Card
- 19:54Speaker 4: banner and then right there you can buy your Cheers card.
- 19:59Speaker 4: This is so such a good deal. This is perfect
- 20:01Speaker 4: for if there's someone who's hard to shop for, Yeah,
- 20:04Speaker 4: this is perfect for them. If you just like shopping
- 20:06Speaker 4: for yourself, this is also perfect for you. It's your
- 20:09Speaker 4: chance to have eighty free drinks across twenty restaurants and
- 20:15Speaker 4: bars in the FM area. So places like Granite City, Kingpins,
- 20:20Speaker 4: Old Broadway, all of the Sicky's locations, they are all participating.
- 20:25Speaker 4: You can head to Big nine eight seven dot com
- 20:27Speaker 4: to see all of the participating restaurants and bars. But
- 20:30Speaker 4: this is amazing and it doesn't expire for a year.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It goes from December fifteenth until December fourteenth of twenty
- 20:37Speaker 4: twenty six. This is the perfect gift and it feels
- 20:41Speaker 4: like a Black Friday deal that's right, which I love.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I have a friend whose name is Tony. He on
- 20:47Speaker 1: Black Friday went shopping and he found a washing machine
- 20:53Speaker 1: with a matching dryer. He got the set and I'm
- 20:56Speaker 1: pretty sure it was like three hundred dollars or something.
- 20:59Speaker 2: It was meat Check.
- 21:01Speaker 1: There might be a local spot here in the FM
- 21:04Speaker 1: area that has something like that. You know, if you
- 21:06Speaker 1: are having any maybe not necessarily issues with your car,
- 21:09Speaker 1: but issues where maybe you could just replace a fridge
- 21:13Speaker 1: or a dishwasher, don't forget about those things as well
- 21:16Speaker 1: for Black Friday shopping one hundred percent.
- 21:19Speaker 4: My brother has always been the king of Black Friday shopping.
- 21:24Speaker 4: There was a year where he stood in line for
- 21:28Speaker 4: a Tickle me Elmo Extreme. Why this man wanted a
- 21:32Speaker 4: Tickle Meelmo Extreme is between him and the Lord.
- 21:35Speaker 3: But we had to.
- 21:37Speaker 4: We had to bring him sandwiches like we were in shit.
- 21:40Speaker 4: He was bramping and he was like camping out, But
- 21:43Speaker 4: he did call to share his favorite Black Friday story.
- 21:48Speaker 7: My last good Black Friday story was from like fifteen
- 21:51Speaker 7: years ago. We stood in line for thirty minutes to
- 21:53Speaker 7: get inside a Walmart. Then we didn't go to the
- 21:55Speaker 7: xboxes or the TVs. We went to the Brothers sewing
- 21:59Speaker 7: machines that were on sale for thirty five dollars. It
- 22:01Speaker 7: was this giant palette wrapped in cellophane. There were maybe
- 22:04Speaker 7: three or four other people that were interested in it.
- 22:07Speaker 2: They undid it.
- 22:07Speaker 7: We bought it, and we've used it for the last
- 22:09Speaker 7: fifteen years, made countless Halloween costumes. That's the last good
- 22:13Speaker 7: Black Friday experience I had.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It's pretty dope.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Did not know that story. That's so cool.
- 22:20Speaker 4: My nephews always have the dopest Halloween costumes, and now
- 22:23Speaker 4: I know it's because of a Black Friday deal on
- 22:25Speaker 4: a sewing machine.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're someone maybe you're honestly you're looking for
- 22:29Speaker 1: a new share in your office.
- 22:31Speaker 2: All right.
- 22:32Speaker 1: If you can find an item that a billion people
- 22:36Speaker 1: aren't trying to purchase Black Friday shopping's got to be wonderful.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You probably don't even have to sprint into Walmart. You
- 22:42Speaker 1: can just skip.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Now, are we going to get some Black Friday deals
- 22:46Speaker 4: on some pizza rolls? That's what my kids are interested.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Starting off the day with something good.
- 22:58Speaker 6: This is Gabe's Good New on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Bison Strides is a nonprofit connected to NDSU and they
- 23:07Speaker 1: use horses to help veterans, people with disabilities, and caregivers
- 23:13Speaker 1: build strength, confidence, and independence through is It Equiined, oh
- 23:19Speaker 1: aqline Thank You Assisted Services. The program relies heavily on volunteers,
- 23:25Speaker 1: about one hundred and sixty most of them are NDSU students,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and they offer therapeutic riding, learning programs and physical occupational therapy.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Since twenty seventeen, Bison's Stride has helped participants achieve major
- 23:39Speaker 1: milestones like taking their first steps out of a wheelchair.
- 23:42Speaker 1: The program currently serves thirty six people and they continue
- 23:46Speaker 1: to seek volunteers and support. So the good news part
- 23:49Speaker 1: of this is that there is a volunteer organization that
- 23:54Speaker 1: does this, that is trying to help veterans, people disabilities,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and caregivers. The other good news part of the day
- 24:00Speaker 1: is around the holidays, if you're feeling like, Hey, I
- 24:02Speaker 1: want to give back, especially this time of the year.
- 24:05Speaker 1: This might be something you could be interested in as
- 24:08Speaker 1: a lot of these are students, but I didn't see
- 24:11Speaker 1: anything that said it had to be NDSU students.
- 24:13Speaker 4: All right, well, I love that equin therapy. I think
- 24:16Speaker 4: it's equin therapy. I think it's e versus at whatever
- 24:19Speaker 4: horse therapy. Yeah, it's super effective and personally, I've got
- 24:26Speaker 4: a bestie who went through some deep trauma and this
- 24:29Speaker 4: type of therapy was really helpful.
- 24:31Speaker 3: So I love that they're doing this.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Once again, this is Bison Strides, nonprofit connected to NDSU.
- 24:38Speaker 1: If you would like to volunteer or maybe you need
- 24:40Speaker 1: to reach out to them for help, all right, you
- 24:42Speaker 1: can definitely do that Bison Strides. The world is full
- 24:45Speaker 1: of nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta
- 24:47Speaker 1: be one.
