- 0:03Welcome to Worldview Matters.
- 0:05Discussing controversial issues.
- 0:07Discerning current events.
- 0:10Defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic.
- 0:14Off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends and family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in to another episode of Worldview Matters.
- 0:26In a matter of weeks, we'll be announcing the details for next year's Worldview Matters conference, Redeem the Time, so important for the body of Christ.
- 0:36We've got 13 speakers coming to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and I'll tell you about that.
- 0:40But I do know it's April 30th and May 1st.
- 0:43I do know that.
- 0:44We'll give you all the other details later.
- 0:46Right now, a friend of the podcast is back with us, Josh Wood, with Them Before Us, thembeforeus.com.
- 0:55That's the website.
- 0:56You can also find them over on Facebook.
- 0:59You can look them up there, and that is Them Before Us.
- 1:02Follow them and interact with them.
- 1:04They post a lot of great, helpful information, just silencing those who are...
- 1:09I don't know, maybe deluded, maybe confused, but we're going to talk about that.
- 1:12Josh, thank you so much for taking the time with us today.
- 1:16Hey, glad to be here.
- 1:17Yeah, and you just got to, what is it, Chattanooga?
- 1:20You're at Tennessee for a conference.
- 1:22Tell us about what you've been doing.
- 1:24Chattanooga, I'm from Tennessee, East Tennessee.
- 1:26We have a there's a gathering partnered up with Live Action to equip state lawmakers to start to educate them on these issues.
- 1:34Not a lot of people, you know, state lawmakers, they've got other jobs.
- 1:37They're trying to lead their normal life.
- 1:39And so we come in and we get to help educate them on some of these issues, how to defend kids.
- 1:43It's a it's a whole lot of fun.
- 1:45So how long have you been working with them before us?
- 1:48I guess going on about three years now.
- 1:51Okay.
- 1:52Awesome.
- 1:52So we had Katie Faust on recently, and we talked about the Greater Than campaign.
- 1:58Any updates or anything you can tell us about that?
- 2:02Is it growing?
- 2:03Is it getting – obviously, it's probably getting pushback.
- 2:06Tell us about that.
- 2:08Well, we are a coalition.
- 2:10I think that was one of our big goals was to show people that there are more for us than against us.
- 2:15And we have now getting close to I don't want to break any news, but we're getting up there.
- 2:20We may hit 100 organizations.
- 2:23We have far more allied leaders that have stepped out, all uniting around one principle that.
- 2:29When a child's right to a mother and father come in conflict with an adult's desire for some form of marriage equality, the child should win.
- 2:37And we think that's an argument that needs to be touted around the country.
- 2:41And so far, a lot of people agree with us.
- 2:44Yes, we get our pushback.
- 2:45But, man, we have been thrilled with the number of organizations that have locked arms with us to defend kids.
- 2:50Well, I'm one of those worldview matters and my own personal ministry, David Fiorazzo Ministries.
- 2:56I want to just share a quote that I put on my Facebook.
- 3:00Greater than exists to defend the rights of children in law, policy, and culture.
- 3:06In today's society, children are often treated as secondary, spoken for, negotiated over, or reshaped to serve adult priorities.
- 3:16That's a quote from your website, but I thought I was reading something I shared about, what would our great-grandparents think about what same-sex marriage and the rights of adults happening today have destroyed families?
- 3:29That was part of my quote.
- 3:31Let's go over to an article I wanted to talk to you about, our billboards guide to basic biology.
- 3:38Are these billboards in different parts of the country or tell us about this campaign?
- 3:43Yeah, we we I mean, some of the backlash that we'll get into will demonstrate why do you need billboards up saying this message.
- 3:50But we put up a pretty simple billboard.
- 3:52No child has two moms.
- 3:53No child has two dads.
- 3:55We made the two for those who can't see this, the two dads and the two moms part rainbow letters.
- 4:01OK, we put these up in a couple of places in Ohio, Alabama.
- 4:06So it's kind of Midwest and some of the southeast areas.
- 4:09And we weren't honestly sure how it would go.
- 4:11I mean, OK, for the last 2000 years, this would be a footnote, right?
- 4:16No one would care at all what what saying that message.
- 4:19Everyone would say, duh, what does this mean?
- 4:21But it's interesting.
- 4:23They got a ton of pushback from people who wanted to argue that, no, a child doesn't come out of the womb anymore.
- 4:30as a result of two people.
- 4:31A child doesn't belong with two people.
- 4:34A child's mother, father, maybe mothers, fathers are whatever we say they are.
- 4:40And honestly, the pushback has been incredibly surprising.
- 4:44Well, yeah, and you'd expect probably a lot of opposition because of what you're doing.
- 4:48I mean, truth has been redefined.
- 4:50And at the end of the article, I want to make sure we get to that and emphasize the point of this campaign of redefining words.
- 4:58Because the left and those who would push demonic agendas, they've been surprisingly successful at redefining terms and using language that sounds good.
- 5:10But it is so far from the truth, and it's just propaganda.
- 5:13So let's start with—walk us through this, Josh.
- 5:16Now, you put this out a couple weeks ago, recently, actually last week or so, five basic truths that triggered the activists.
- 5:27And, you know, you mentioned your billboard.
- 5:30So let's walk through this, starting with biology for me, not for thee, and anything else you want to elaborate on here as we take this point by point to equip our audience.
- 5:40Well, biology for the and not for me, it's pointing to one fundamental, maybe a pattern or fact about the creation of children within the LGBTQ community.
- 5:55You see so many people wanting a connection.
- 5:59There was a study out of, I think it was the Williams Center at UCLA that actually said
- 6:04that the adoption, which we hear all the time, is basically, if you listen to the media, the only way that children enter an LGBTQ household would be through adoption.
- 6:15But this study showed that the majority of LGBTQ adults
- 6:21do not want to choose adoption.
- 6:23They want to create a child.
- 6:25Well, why?
- 6:26Even that study we listed on our website, you can go see it's, I think it's called biology hypocrisy, but it lists these different statements from these adults saying things like, I wanted a connection, I wanted the kid to look like me, I wanted, it felt special that they were mine.
- 6:42What does that sound like?
- 6:44That's every adult you know.
- 6:47Adoption is a rare and it's a difficult calling.
- 6:52It's something that we believe God puts on your heart to try to repair a broken situation.
- 6:56It's not something just...
- 6:58more common in one group of adults than another.
- 7:01Why did we think that a certain group of people, LGBTQ adults, would not want to procreate or try to create children that look like them, that share their eyes, that look like their partner?
- 7:12Well, it's just biologically impossible for a certain group of people, same individuals in same sex relationships.
- 7:17And
- 7:18as a result they get as close as they possibly can right even in lesbian relationships we've seen this phenomenon of what's called reciprocal ivf where two women will pay thousands more dollars to pull an egg out of one partner to find a donor sperm that they'll purchase combine it in a lab and then put it in the other partner so that one woman is the biological mother and one woman gestates the baby
- 7:42Why?
- 7:43Well, one of the quotes from our article says, the woman says something like, I wanted to get as much of the biological connection as I could.
- 7:49Well, what does that tell you?
- 7:51It matters so much to the adults that they're biologically connected, but yet they're bringing a child into the world that at best will have 50% of that biology.
- 8:00Yeah.
- 8:01Can you explain, use the term in the article, reciprocal IVF?
- 8:07And it's a very costly procedure.
- 8:09Is that what these two women used?
- 8:10Yeah.
- 8:11Yeah, so they'll have one woman gestate.
- 8:14I mean, it's just crazy because IVF, as we know, it's very dangerous for the embryos.
- 8:21They're frozen.
- 8:22They're thawed.
- 8:24Some will not even survive in the lab culture.
- 8:26They put their children through this massive process for one reason alone.
- 8:31So that one woman, the egg comes from her, and one woman gets to gestate the baby because they want that connection.
- 8:39So I don't think a lot of people understand what you just shared about the IVF process, because even Christian couples who have struggled with infertility have been going down or had gone down this path.
- 8:52I mean, at one time, my wife and I considered it.
- 8:54We didn't.
- 8:55But I think there's a lot of confusion or maybe the information out there is not accurate.
- 9:00And people are being warned.
- 9:02Right.
- 9:03about what happens with all these, I guess, extra embryos.
- 9:07Can you talk to us a little bit more about that before we move on?
- 9:10Totally.
- 9:12What people need to understand is that the fertility industry is just that.
- 9:15It's an industry.
- 9:16They take women and men who are heartbroken about infertility, are seeking any solution, and they're often shuttled not to doctors that might seek to diagnose what's wrong with their bodies.
- 9:27God created our bodies to reproduce, and so we need to use medicine to heal our bodies so they can do what they were naturally created to do.
- 9:36Our medical system has not done that.
- 9:38It's shifted us to the easy, just take a pill, just do this procedure, not let's diagnose and discover.
- 9:45And maybe it involves lifestyle change, maybe it doesn't.
- 9:48Maybe it involves surgical intervention, but we're gonna get your body healthy again.
- 9:51IVF is the opposite.
- 9:52It says we may even, we're gonna try to bypass what may be going wrong, create life in a lab and then put it back inside you.
- 9:59Well, the challenge with that is,
- 10:01In order to make the numbers work and the money work, they have to create.
- 10:07It's like going to, honestly, Las Vegas.
- 10:10You need the best odds possible.
- 10:12So they'll create sometimes 30 embryos at a time.
- 10:15They'll pull all the eggs they can from the woman.
- 10:18They'll create as many embryos as possible.
- 10:20That's a child embryo.
- 10:22It's a child at day three of life.
- 10:25They take a snapshot at day three.
- 10:27Sometimes they use AI to determine how much has the baby grown in that three day period in this manufactured lab created solution that is not as good as the womb.
- 10:37So many die just in those first three days because the solution is not the same.
- 10:42The lighting is not the same.
- 10:43The temperature is not the same.
- 10:45Well, at day three, they essentially are able to grade and they know from their systems and their scales how likely each embryo is to result in a live birth if given the chance.
- 10:56They take of those 25 that have survived to day three, they'll take one.
- 11:02The best one, the A plus, that's the one that gets implanted.
- 11:06The other 24 go into a freezer.
- 11:09A freezer that pre-2005, you'd lose 40 to 50% of the embryos when you thawed them.
- 11:15That's how bad the technology was pre-2005.
- 11:18Post-2005, you now have gotten it down to 2 to 5% will die in the thaw.
- 11:25But to put that in perspective, I have a toddler at home.
- 11:31A 2% to 5% death rate is roughly open-heart surgery.
- 11:34So would I, even in the better situation where the technology has improved, and I choose to freeze the embryo, which 98% of all IVF cycles include,
- 11:44Would I choose to freeze the embryo for the chance at life?
- 11:48Would I undergo a medically unnecessary procedure for my toddler, equivalent to open heart surgery, for the possibility of life?
- 11:56No, no one would ever, no one, no doctor would ever sign off.
- 12:00No ethics board would ever sign off if that was considered a child to go through an unnecessary procedure to give you a chance at life.
- 12:08No, no one would ever do that.
- 12:10So now you've got 24 going through a 2% to 5% chance of death.
- 12:13If they ever make it out of the freezer, which 10 million embryos locked in freezers around the world tell you they probably won't.
- 12:21And then that one that got implanted, we will see if they survive to birth.
- 12:26When you add all that up, you end up getting somewhere around 97%, 98% never result in a live birth if they're created in a lab.
- 12:35I mean, it's pretty shockingly bad numbers.
- 12:38This is really sobering information, but we have to talk about it because so many people are not informed on this.
- 12:44So thank you, Josh.
- 12:46As part of the quote on your article here, the woman said, I carried our daughter, so she is both of ours, but there's no dad.
- 12:56Where's the dad?
- 12:57I want to go to your website briefly.
- 12:59Right on the homepage of your website, there are some statistics.
- 13:04Children growing up without children.
- 13:06their mother and father, 20 times more likely to end up in prison.
- 13:11In other words, a single parent home.
- 13:14Now, two moms is not a mom and a dad.
- 13:18Nine times more likely to drop out of high school, five times more likely to die by suicide.
- 13:23And you can find those right on the homepage of thembeforeus.com.
- 13:28And that leads me to the next question in the next part of what we want to talk about.
- 13:33Stepdads, they say, oh, you hate stepdads.
- 13:36Before I mention this, Josh, there is an article that came out.
- 13:40It's called Do Stepparents Matter?
- 13:43That is over at Them Before Us, put out by Nick Spencer.
- 13:47And then before us.
- 13:49But I want to make sure you guys know that's there.
- 13:51It gets into detail more on this.
- 13:52But talk about your response to this.
- 13:55Oh, so you hate stepdads, Josh.
- 13:59Well, that's the red herring.
- 14:01So if I say...
- 14:03no child has two moms, if I say no child has two dads, they ask, well, what about the kid who is five or six years old and his mother and father divorce, and he now sees his dad, you know, statistically they say that by the time a child reaches 18, if he's in a divorced family, half of those children have lost contact with one of their parents, okay?
- 14:26You take that five-year-old whose dad, he was his hero, and now he doesn't see at all because of divorce.
- 14:34I mean, that's a total tragedy, right?
- 14:36Well, what they're insinuating is that when mom remarried, which is incredibly difficult on children to have a new male in the home that they are not related to.
- 14:47I can relate to this.
- 14:49I'm a child whose parents got divorced.
- 14:51These create all sorts of family dynamics.
- 14:53What they're saying is, oh, so you hate...
- 14:56You hate divorced parents.
- 14:57You hate stepchildren.
- 14:58You hate step parents because you're stating two children or children don't have a mom, two moms or two dads.
- 15:03Wait a second.
- 15:05You're going to tell that five year old your mom got remarried.
- 15:08So now this is your second father.
- 15:09I mean, give me a break.
- 15:12No, no one who has been through that.
- 15:14Now, are there heroic step parents, some who who step in for absentee fathers?
- 15:20Absolutely.
- 15:21But you take both sides of this coin when your dad was awesome and you lost maybe through tragedy or abandonment or circumstances.
- 15:29You don't you don't have a stepfather into the picture and then say, oh, this is my father.
- 15:34I have nothing to complain about because I just got another dad.
- 15:36No one says that.
- 15:38And on the other hand, when you have a dad who's delinquent, who left your mom, maybe was abusive to your mom and she remarries, no one says, What are you complaining about?
- 15:48You do you have another dad?
- 15:49We replaced him.
- 15:49It doesn't matter that he was abandoned.
- 15:51You it doesn't matter.
- 15:52He was abusive.
- 15:52It's just such a non sequitur argument.
- 15:55But what it does is it tries to distract from the fact that some people really are trying to make us believe in culture.
- 16:03that a child comes out of a womb that someone rented, is given to two men, and we call those two men dad, and that's supposed to be normal.
- 16:10I'm not going to accept the argument.
- 16:13Thank you.
- 16:13And again, friends, you can find this article over at thembeforeus.com.
- 16:18They're also on Substack.
- 16:20This one is called, about their billboard, Our Billboard's Guide to Basic Biology.
- 16:25Let's go to step three or number three in these myths.
- 16:30Oh, by the way, I love what you said.
- 16:32Step-parents step in after a family breaks.
- 16:36That's pretty clear.
- 16:37Number three, so you guys are against adoption?
- 16:40Tell us about this conversation that we're looking at on the screen there, Josh.
- 16:45It is.
- 16:45I mean, this is the left's whole argument here is to distract.
- 16:51So you're against adoption.
- 16:53What we're recognizing, no matter if a child is placed for adoption and is adopted into a wonderful home, no matter if your parents get divorced and your step parent becomes your hero, none of that
- 17:08takes away from the fact that a child has a mother and a father.
- 17:12None of that takes away from the fact that in order for that child to be adopted, in order for that child to have a step parent, the child lost something.
- 17:22Why does it make some adults so mad to acknowledge that the child has to lose something to find themselves in that arrangement?
- 17:30It's because some adults want to do it on purpose.
- 17:34They don't want it to be a tragedy.
- 17:35They don't want they want to have pre-planned it.
- 17:38And to act like it's normal.
- 17:39That's the only reason they have any issue with this is because they need it to not matter to the child.
- 17:47And I want to mention an article that Katie put out last year at Them Before Us.
- 17:53It's called, If You Created the Orphan, It's Not Adoption.
- 17:58And I'm sure she gets into that in depth.
- 18:01So these are just ways, friends, we've got to understand how we can respond to this growing movement and this actually this ideology that it's just really propaganda, putting down truth and and.
- 18:14Biblical morality and biology and the family unit, really minimizing the true God-ordained family and marriage between one man and one woman.
- 18:23So let's go on, because for the sake of time, it's going by faster than what I thought.
- 18:28So number four, mind your business.
- 18:34Mind your own business.
- 18:35This is not your business, Josh.
- 18:37Why is them before us concerned about what I do in my home?
- 18:41I got a better question.
- 18:42Why do people who want to do bad things to children always turn around to everyone else and say, what do you care?
- 18:48Stay out of my business.
- 18:51Good question.
- 18:52Why?
- 18:52I'm like, wait a second.
- 18:54Child protection, let's just take a Christian stand on it.
- 18:57Child protection has always been the church's historic interest.
- 19:01It's always been our vocation.
- 19:02Anytime anybody is threatening the life of a child.
- 19:05Look, we're Americans.
- 19:06We love freedom.
- 19:08We love liberty.
- 19:08We love justice.
- 19:09parental rights.
- 19:10Of course, no one would defend a child being abused.
- 19:13We would not say that's his right.
- 19:15It's his freedom.
- 19:16No way.
- 19:16When a child is being endangered or being put in danger or is being harmed, it's the right of every person.
- 19:23I don't care if you're a Christian or an American or whatever, any person.
- 19:25Any good person is going to step in.
- 19:27And it's funny to me that the group who always says, mind your business, is the one that wants to be able to place a child with an unvetted adult, like we saw in Pennsylvania, who was on the sex offender registry, who bought a child through a surrogate and took a kid home even though he had been put in jail as a pedophile.
- 19:49Wait a second.
- 19:49It's like, mind my business.
- 19:52It's exactly my business to prevent you from acquiring a child.
- 19:57Wow, this is just some amazing stuff that we hear about.
- 20:01And people are hopefully starting to connect the dots and wanting to protect children like you guys are trying to do.
- 20:06There was something I was going to... Oh, I love this comment of someone, a woman that commented on the posts about the billboards you guys put up and said, I appreciate your message.
- 20:18You changed my mind on IVF and surrogacy.
- 20:22Thank you for all you're doing.
- 20:23And that's what we're trying to do, raise awareness about this, inform people, especially the Christian community, on how we should be thinking biblically and morally about this, about these issues.
- 20:34It's very important.
- 20:35So this is a big one, Josh, this last one.
- 20:41Define love, first of all.
- 20:43Because they said love is love.
- 20:44We should be able to marry who we want.
- 20:46We should be able to have as many children without a mom or dad.
- 20:49They just use love as that's their defense.
- 20:51All kids need is love.
- 20:53Josh, how do you respond to that?
- 20:56Man, this one is maybe the all-timer, right?
- 20:58All kids need is love.
- 21:00We have to translate that kind of euphemism.
- 21:03It doesn't matter who a child came from.
- 21:07It doesn't matter how they entered the world.
- 21:09I get to place them.
- 21:10They are an assignable asset that gets placed wherever I want.
- 21:14And so long as they have two, maybe three, four, five adults who love them, they could be fine.
- 21:21The argument isn't over whether two men can love a child.
- 21:25The argument isn't over whether two women can be can can be great caretakers for a child.
- 21:33This is such this.
- 21:34Wait a second.
- 21:35It's an argument at its core.
- 21:37Will we allow society and bad actors to redefine what it means to be a child?
- 21:43If a mother and father are not a feeling, they're a fact.
- 21:47That means that when a child comes out of the womb, do we fundamentally believe as a society that that child belongs with a certain two people?
- 21:57Or...
- 21:58as this group would like you to believe, does this child come out as an assignable asset that waits until better adults get to decide through contracts and paperwork and international supply chain of sperm, egg and womb, they get to determine where this child fits
- 22:16best I would assert that if we this is a civilizational question if a child is no longer a person coming into the world with a claim on two people belonging with two people then then that child belongs with no one has no purpose can be assigned to anyone that is a very dangerous road for society to go down
- 22:37I also want to mention at the beginning, this woman said kids should be loved.
- 22:43Yes, we agree with that.
- 22:44All children should be loved, but then it shouldn't matter who raises them.
- 22:48Stop.
- 22:49And that's what Josh just answered.
- 22:51It does matter who raises them, and they're redefining truth, God, truth, family, and parenting.
- 22:59So I love your reply, Josh.
- 23:02to, in this world, spreading hate only hurts people.
- 23:08So in their view, and that's their worldview, you, Christian, conservative, that believe in God and biology and the natural family unit, you're spreading hate by these billboards.
- 23:20Just share how you replied to that one.
- 23:23Well, we can't control that stating a biological fact that everybody knows.
- 23:29Every single person in this world came from a man and a woman, a period.
- 23:34We can't control that that in 2026 has now become hate speech.
- 23:39That is a basic biological fact that even President Obama would have agreed with before he evolved.
- 23:46So this is not that long ago that this became debatable.
- 23:49So we can't see ground as Christians and refuse to say, well, you're not being winsome, you're not being kind, stating a biological fact
- 23:57that protects children and secures the right to their mom and dad is not hate.
- 24:01Hate looks a lot more to me like someone be paying, you know, getting paid $50,000 to to to give their eggs away, to be have their children handed off to unvetted men who some may be on a registry.
- 24:18Some wait a second.
- 24:19Is that love?
- 24:20No, that that that is not love.
- 24:23Love does not sell its children.
- 24:26So I want to reemphasize something you said.
- 24:28A mother and a father are a fact, not a feeling.
- 24:33And then I love this quote from the article.
- 24:35Love does not ask a child to sacrifice her mother or father so an adult can get what they want.
- 24:43And that's what Them Before Us is all about.
- 24:45Put the children's needs before adult needs.
- 24:48And finally, one other quote from the article.
- 24:51You can elaborate on this for just a couple of minutes as we close up here, Josh Wood.
- 24:56We do not get to rewrite words tied to a biological reality humanity has acknowledged for centuries.
- 25:03And that's what they've been doing.
- 25:05Changing language, redefining terms, rewriting words.
- 25:08Two minutes, Josh.
- 25:09Share whatever you'd like about that.
- 25:11Well, it's the important thing for every Christian to remember is that you do not have an easy choice here.
- 25:20You will either upset adults who want something very badly or you will victimize children.
- 25:26Those are your only two options.
- 25:28The fact that they are so bent on redefining these words means that you have now no option to just stay silent.
- 25:37If you do that, we will redefine child.
- 25:40And we will require children go into families with two women and two men.
- 25:45That means necessarily that child will lose a relationship with their mother to make possible what the adults want.
- 25:53So is it costly to speak up?
- 25:56Is it costly to to say children have a mom and a dad?
- 26:00Yes, it will cost you things at work, at home.
- 26:03It may even cost you things at church.
- 26:05But you have to remember the person you are refusing to offend is the child.
- 26:14The person you are refusing to let play the victim is the adults.
- 26:18We need to reframe.
- 26:19We need to say, wait a second.
- 26:20It is the child who is being victimized here.
- 26:22It is the child who is being asked to sacrifice.
- 26:24And even though this makes you uncomfortable to hear,
- 26:27That child has a mother and father.
- 26:28They deserve to be with them, no matter what it costs you.
- 26:33Josh, thank you so much.
- 26:34This is so necessary.
- 26:36Friends, I encourage you to follow Them Before Us on Substack, but you can go to their main website, thembeforeus.com.
- 26:44Great information, helpful information that 10, 20 years ago, maybe 20, 30 years ago, I didn't think we'd need to be having these conversations, but we absolutely do.
- 26:53Unfortunately, that's where moral relativism takes us, and that's these agendas that are demonic, really, against God, against truth, against family.
- 27:02and against Christians, too, and how we want to live our lives.
- 27:05Brother, thank you for all that you do.
- 27:07Lord willing, we'll do this again.
- 27:09Thank you.
- 27:11Friends, thank you.
- 27:11Share this one.
- 27:12God bless you.
- 27:13And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
- 27:17We will see you next time.
