  character. And of course it is a mutant

  because I love them. And this is one that I feel is

  underrated because the Cyclops of it all if you catch my drift.

  So who is Havoc? Havoc's first appearance was an
• 0:30
  X-Men number 54 as Alex Summers. But his first appearance as
• 0:35
  Havoc was an X-Men #58 he was created by Arnold Drake and Don
• 0:40
  Heck, which is a great name. Don Heck Alexander Summers,
• 0:45
  better known as Havoc, was the middle child of Major
• 0:48
  Christopher Summers, AUS Air Force test pilot and Catherine
• 0:52
  Summers. He had two brothers, older
• 0:55
  brother Scott. It was Cyclops as you may know
• 0:57
  and his younger brother Gabriel who is Vulcan.

  All three turned out to be mutants, which is wild.

  When Scott and Alex were kids, the family plane was suddenly
• 1:08
  attacked mid flight by a shear scout ship.

  The jet caught fire with only one parachute left.
• 1:14
  Their mom strapped it to Scott and Alex and pushed them out.

  The chute caught fire on the way down and Scott instinctively
• 1:21
  used his optic blast for the first time to slow their fall.

  What the boys didn't know was that their parents had been
• 1:28
  teleported off the plane by the shear just before it exploded.

  Scott hit his head during the landing and damaging the part of
• 1:36
  his brain that would have let him control his powers.

  Both boys developed traumatic amnesia.

  After a short hospital stay, they were sent to the State Home
• 1:47
  for Foundlings in Omaha, NE, secretly ran by Mr. Sinister
• 1:52
  under the alias Mr. Millberry. Sinister experimented on them
• 1:56
  and decided Scott had way more potential, so he had Alex
• 2:00
  adopted out to emotionally isolate Scott.

  Sinister wanted to isolate Scott so, so bad that he actually took
• 2:10
  out some adoptees that were interested and Scott.
• 2:16
  So there's that. Alex was taken in by Andrew and
• 2:21
  Misses Blanding, whose son Todd had recently died.

  They pressured Alex to basically replace Todd, which is weird.
• 2:30
  Years later, when Todd's killer kidnapped Alex and his foster
• 2:34
  sister Haley, Alex's mutant powers finally surfaced.

  He incinerated the man Sinister showed up and pressed that Alex
• 2:43
  might actually surpass Scott in raw potential.
• 2:46
  Since Alex could not control his powers, Sinister placed psychic
• 2:50
  blocks on him and Haley so they'd forget the whole thing.

  Meanwhile, Apocalypse got involved with his in his own
• 2:58
  twisted way. He had Sinister splice modified
• 3:02
  samples of Alex's DNA into a man named Ahmed Abdul.

  The experiment created a weird split power connection between
• 3:10
  them. Abdul became the living pharaoh,
• 3:14
  started a cult and tried to conquer the world, which, yeah,
• 3:19
  that's always there. It's always like, I'm going to
• 3:21
  conquer the world. It's like, seems like so much
• 3:25
  work. As an adult, Alex had no idea
• 3:28
  Scott was Cyclops until after graduating with a degree in
• 3:31
  geophysics. Abdullah discovered their
• 3:33
  psychic link and realized Alex's body was blocking his own cosmic
• 3:37
  energy abilities. He kidnapped Alex, shielded him
• 3:41
  from the cosmic radiation, and transformed into the giant
• 3:46
  living monolith. During the fight with the X-Men,
• 3:49
  Alex's powers finally fully emerged, but since he couldn't
• 3:54
  control the plasma blasts erupting from him, he chose to
• 3:57
  stay in Egypt rather than join him.

  That did not last. He was captured by Sentinels
• 4:03
  brought to Larry Trask, who gave him the code name Havoc and a
• 4:08
  special suit to regulate his cosmic energy.

  After getting badly injured and nearly drained by Doctor Kyle
• 4:14
  Lykos, who transformed into Sauron, Alex finally joined
• 4:19
  Scott at Xavier School to train properly.
• 4:22
  Myra Mctaggart helped run tests on him.
• 4:24
  Because it always goes back to Myra at the mansion, Alex fell
• 4:30
  hard for Lorna Dane, who is Polaris and who is one of my
• 4:34
  favorite mutants of all time. Her and Nightcrawler are my 2.
• 4:41
  After fighting aliens like the Xenox and adventurers in the
• 4:44
  Savage Land, Havoc eventually gained real control over his
• 4:49
  powers. He and Lorna left the X-Men to
• 4:51
  pursue grad school but got brainwashed by the she are Agent
• 4:55
  Eric the Red and nearly assassinated Xavier before being
• 4:58
  freed. Over time, Alex's life just kept
• 5:03
  getting messier. He battled the living Monolith
• 5:05
  again, fought Proteus, helped rescue people from Murder World
• 5:11
  and reunited with his father, now the space pirate Corsair
• 5:15
  leader of the Star Jammers, which I always get a kick out of
• 5:19
  the name Star Jammers. I don't know why he even stood
• 5:22
  as Scott's best man at his wedding to Madeline Pryor, who
• 5:26
  was secretly a Jean Grey clone created by Sinister.
• 5:30
  Later during the Mutant Massacre era, Alex got pulled back into
• 5:35
  X-Men affairs. Polaris was possessed by Malice
• 5:39
  and turned against him. Madeline, spiraling after
• 5:43
  learning she was a clone, seduced Alex in his vulnerable
• 5:46
  state. She eventually became the Goblin
• 5:48
  Queen and launched A demonic invasion of New York and Havoc
• 5:53
  manipulated into being her Goblin Prince.
• 5:56
  She died during the chaos, which is a shame.
• 5:58
  I I liked her but she is still like.

  She's back in the comics now though, so it's cool.
• 6:04
  Alex tried to move on, but he was constantly manipulated by
• 6:08
  villains like Doctor Neutron, by Dark Beast who brainwashed him,
• 6:13
  and even by alternate reality versions of himself.

  At one point, a time machine explosion sent his consciousness
• 6:21
  into another universe where he was married to an alternate
• 6:24
  Madeleine and had a son named Scotty.
• 6:26
  Which is weird. It's all weird.
• 6:30
  He eventually returned to his own world, only to call off his
• 6:33
  wedding to Lorna at the altar because he'd fallen for his
• 6:36
  nurse Annie, which is trashy. Reality shifts, possession,
• 6:42
  mental splits. Followed after Scarlet witches
• 6:46
  no more mutants situation, Polaris lost her powers,
• 6:50
  Apocalypse returned, and Vulcan resurfaced, killing their father
• 6:54
  and going to war with the sheer Empire.
• 6:56
  Alex joined a space mission to stop him.

  Vulcan blasted him into a sun, but Alex absorbed enough energy
• 7:04
  to come back and fight. Eventually, he and the Star
• 7:07
  Jammers were imprisoned and tortured before escaping.

  Back on Earth, Alex led The X Factor, fought in The Avengers
• 7:16
  versus X-Men War, and after Cyclops fell, Captain America
• 7:19
  chose Havoc to lead The Avengers Unity Squad as a symbol of
• 7:22
  mutant human unity. During a battle with King, half
• 7:27
  of Alex's face was horribly burned, and that's what you get
• 7:30
  for leaving Polaris at the altar.
• 7:34
  Then came the Red Skull Crisis and the Axis Inversion spell,
• 7:39
  which twisted personalities, including Alex's.
• 7:42
  He briefly went dark, sided with questionable allies, and
• 7:46
  struggled to figure out which version of itself was the real
• 7:50
  one. Eventually, Polaris helped
• 7:52
  restore him fully, even healing the scars.
• 7:55
  After more battles, sacrifices, and yet another apparent death
• 7:59
  fighting Sentinels, Alex was resurrected on Krakoa through
• 8:03
  the Mutant Resurrection Protocols.

  He moved into the Summer House on the moon with his extended
• 8:09
  Summers family. But even on Krakoa, peace did
• 8:12
  not stick. He had violent breakdowns, was
• 8:15
  assigned to Mr. Sinister's unstable Hellion's team, got
• 8:19
  manipulated again, and struggled with unresolved feelings for
• 8:23
  Madeleine Pryor, who the Quiet Council initially refused to
• 8:26
  resurrect. After multiple missions, deaths,
• 8:30
  resurrections, betrayals, and psychological spirals, he
• 8:33
  finally got to see Madeleine alive again.
• 8:36
  But she needed space from the summer's drama, which I feel is
• 8:39
  really fair, actually. Eventually, he resumed a
• 8:44
  relationship with her and moved to her Limbo embassy in New
• 8:48
  York. During Orcas's anti mutant
• 8:51
  attacks, Alex helped rescue mutants worldwide until he was
• 8:54
  taken out again by a robotic Wolverine duplicate.

  Madeline resurrected him as a zombie to keep him safe, and
• 9:01
  when he discovered she'd intentionally kept him that way,
• 9:04
  he still used his last breath to protect her.

  She finally restored him fully and he chose to walk away
• 9:11
  through alien wars, reality shifts, brainwashing, family
• 9:14
  betrayals, cosmic prison breaks, political leadership, and
• 9:18
  multiple resurrections. Alex Summers has constantly
• 9:22
  struggled with identity, living in his brother's shadow, the
• 9:26
  cyclops of it all, fighting his own darker impulses and trying
• 9:30
  to decide who Havoc really is. Which he's a good character, he
• 9:35
  has many layers, and I'd like to see more of him in the coming
• 9:39
  comics. But he was an X Factor and he
• 9:44
  was with Lorna then. But I believe that run is ended,
• 9:48
  so nothing since. But I'd like to see more of him.
