- 0:06Speaker 1: First of all, I was really blown away by this
- 0:08Speaker 1: story this morning. Actress Christina Applegate has revealed she does
- 0:12Speaker 1: not have multiple sclerosis. She was actually misdiagnosed. She stepped
- 0:17Speaker 1: away from her career in Hollywood five years ago after
- 0:20Speaker 1: getting the MS diagnosis, which her doctor has now told
- 0:23Speaker 1: her was incorrect. Don't know if you saw the last
- 0:26Speaker 1: thing she did. It was called Dead to Me on Netflix.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I've watched all of them. Oh, it was hilarious, wasn't it?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Very good show. But you could really see her struggling
- 0:33Speaker 1: by the end of its third and last season. Now
- 0:36Speaker 1: she says her doctor got her in his office and said, congratulations,
- 0:39Speaker 1: you don't have MS, expecting her to be over the moon.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But she says she's anything but. No. The diagnosis might
- 0:45Speaker 1: be wrong, but she's still suffering debilitating symptoms. That's the thing.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Got the symptoms and now doesn't know what it is again.
- 0:51Speaker 1: She said, you don't get misdiagnosed and then all of
- 0:53Speaker 1: a sudden I'm better. I haven't got better. If anything,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I've gotten worse. And as for why the symptoms, she's
- 0:58Speaker 1: now back at square one. This poor woman, what an emotional,
- 1:01Speaker 1: painful rollercoaster. Doctors say misdiagnosis for MS is not uncommon
- 1:06Speaker 1: because there's no one test to confirm it. Nothing that says, yes,
- 1:10Speaker 1: you've got it or no, you don't. It's a long
- 1:11Speaker 1: list of criteria. that involves constant evaluation and re-evaluation. It's
- 1:17Speaker 1: a tough one. After months of speculation, Jay-Z, who's the
- 1:23Speaker 1: chief decision-maker on who plays the Super Bowl halftime show,
- 1:28Speaker 1: has finally picked the artist who will take the stage
- 1:30Speaker 1: next February. Who is it, Jay-Z? Me. That's right. Jay-Z
- 1:35Speaker 1: picked Jay-Z. This is according to multiple sources who say
- 1:39Speaker 1: the pic has long felt inevitable, seeing as his company,
- 1:43Speaker 1: Roc Nation, curates and produces the show. And consensus is
- 1:47Speaker 1: that he'll be more compelling than Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber,
- 1:50Speaker 1: both of whom were considered. So he's to blame for
- 1:52Speaker 1: Bad Bunny. Yes. Or to be applauded for Bad Bunny,
- 1:58Speaker 1: depending on how much you enjoyed the show. I did.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Russell didn't. A Jay-Z performance is the natural next step
- 2:04Speaker 1: in the $ 5 million a year deal that Roc Nation
- 2:07Speaker 1: signed with the NFL in 2019 and then renewed for
- 2:11Speaker 1: a further five years in 2024. Is he going to
- 2:13Speaker 1: play his hit? Oh, come on now. New York, state
- 2:17Speaker 1: of mind. No, no. The thing about Jay-Z doing the
- 2:21Speaker 1: halftime show is surely there's got to be a good
- 2:25Speaker 1: chance you're going to get the misses as well. Oh.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It's a given. It's a given, isn't it? Yo, yo, yo.
- 2:31Speaker 1: CNN's Christiane Amanpour is an absolute legend of news. And
- 2:37Speaker 1: she has just announced that after 43 years with the
- 2:41Speaker 1: network and now 68 years young, she is stepping away
- 2:45Speaker 1: from CNN next year. Now, when I think of the
- 2:47Speaker 1: first Gulf War in 91, I think of Christiane Amanpour.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And then I think of Wolf Blitzer. Yes, he was there.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And then I think of Bobby Batista. Back at the desk.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And then I think of Fast Forward's ridiculously silly skit.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Here's CNN's Bobby Batista. Good morning, everyone. Yes, and as
- 3:04Speaker 1: Anne said, good morning, everyone. Fern Lincroft from CBS News
- 3:09Speaker 1: takes up the story. Thank you, Bobby. Good morning, Fern.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Good morning, Brian. Good morning, Fern. Good morning, Anne. And yes,
- 3:17Speaker 1: following up on that story of the storm... And you've
- 3:19Speaker 1: got a YouTuber too because Bobby... Bobby had an eye
- 3:23Speaker 1: thing going on, as we remember. She had a thing
- 3:25Speaker 1: going on that you have to see and she was
- 3:27Speaker 1: there every night on the TV as we'd sit down
- 3:29Speaker 1: to watch the war. Yes, we did. But also, speaking
- 3:34Speaker 1: of Googling it, there's something else that'll stand out, aren't there?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Michael features Brian Gumbel. I forgot. Let's say he was
- 3:41Speaker 1: in full body makeup, shall we? That wouldn't fly now.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I just don't know how much of Fast Forward you
- 3:48Speaker 1: reckon wouldn't fly these days. Half of what Michael was
- 3:50Speaker 1: in that. Do you see? The flight attendants, perhaps? Yes,
- 3:55Speaker 1: the carpet warehouse. I think that's gone. I think that's
- 4:00Speaker 1: why we don't see it on repeats. Magda, not working
- 4:04Speaker 1: in an island. No. I just. But. One of the
- 4:09Speaker 1: funniest shows we ever got. Absolutely. The joy of watching
- 4:13Speaker 1: before everything got so serious. Before all the fun got
- 4:17Speaker 1: snuffed out.
