- 5:23That us. Thank you, thank you, thank you
- 5:29for inviting me as well. Thank you great, great guys.
- 5:32It's a it's a good. I believe that the God has
- 5:35really blessed us to be here to talk at.
- 5:38This minute and I really thankful to her.
- 5:41Thank you. Wow, let's start from the origin
- 5:46fire to water. So Kumar, you started selling
- 5:54buttermilk on the streets of only 13 years old.
- 5:58A lot of times as a parent, we try and get our kids involved or
- 6:02and start a business, start working sometimes as a young
- 6:06age. Is that kind of what happened
- 6:08for you where it was introduced by your parents or was it
- 6:11something that you wanted to take initiative on yourself?
- 6:16It's a, it's a, it's a family thing.
- 6:19It's my mom. Of course we had a decent
- 6:26decent. Family life, I used to ask my
- 6:32mom, are you really my mom or you're a stepmom to me?
- 6:36As you you have, you have. The dad is doing the business
- 6:41and and the family is running OK.
- 6:45But you know, all, every family has the, you know, the financial
- 6:49situations, but we never see, but I never seen sending a child
- 6:56in the age of 13 to do something which is which is different, you
- 7:02know, which is completely different.
- 7:04But I really feel I really thankful to my mom right now
- 7:07because what she has done that day and undoing it because that
- 7:13energy, that consistency that's, you know, keep on fighting for
- 7:18it. You know, it's nothing.
- 7:20You get it for free. And and you if you need
- 7:23something, you need to work for it.
- 7:24The luck this is this is not in real world.
- 7:28You, you understood what I mean. Like I used to wake up at 4:00,
- 7:33my mom wake me at 4:00 in the morning and then we start
- 7:38preparing the buttermilk and we pack it and then we supply for
- 7:44nearly seven to 10 kilometres in and around from my house, supply
- 7:50buttermilk in the morning. Then I have to go to the school
- 7:53after finishing the buttermilk. So my school is around 9:00.
- 7:58So I'll be reaching the school by 845 something, 850 something
- 8:02like. That.
- 8:03Then I'm not only done the buttermilk.
- 8:06After 3 o'clock. I have to work in a tattoo.
- 8:10So I work as a coffee. Boy selling it coffees and
- 8:14taters during the break times. So those Times Now we have a
- 8:18missions yes and no. And in those times there is no
- 8:21missions. So you have to prepare the tea
- 8:24and coffee pre prepared and then they keep it in a in a box in a
- 8:28in a hot vessel and you have to distribute and then so I was
- 8:32doing that I do the first to break.
- 8:35Usually the movie starts at 12 O clock or 1:00 in in South India
- 8:41and Chennai. So the first, the first.
- 8:44One which been done by someone but I will join in the second.
- 8:48Break. So the second show starts at
- 8:503:00. So they're usually the the
- 8:52theatres run in a four show. So I I go exactly in the during
- 8:58the interval time just. Before like a 1520.
- 9:00Minutes to prepare it and then I will sell the tea.
- 9:05Then I will go back to the place where I have to collect the
- 9:08money because I dropped the buttermilk in the morning.
- 9:11So they haven't. They have to make sure they are
- 9:14selling it and then they give the money to us.
- 9:17So I have to do the collection job in the evening.
- 9:20Then again, once the job is done again, I'll come back to home
- 9:25and relax myself and then again I will go back to the theatre at
- 9:30637 o'clock where the third show break will happen again.
- 9:37I will stay from 7:30 to 11:00 in theatre and then I will come
- 9:43back to home by around 11:00 or 11:15, 11-30, something like
- 9:48that. So, so this is my routine.
- 9:51I've been doing this for almost until 17, nearly 3-4 years.
- 9:58So I really thankful to my mom, you know that that energy until
- 10:03today, until today. I've been in living in the UK
- 10:06for almost 15 to 18 years now. I vaguely remember I never
- 10:12worked for anyone. I never worked for anyone.
- 10:15I always, always, I had a job, I had a business.
- 10:20I've been doing a business from the day when I've been here.
- 10:23If my understanding is right, I I stopped working for somebody
- 10:26nearly 15 years before. So.
- 10:29I haven't worked before anybody for the last 15 years and that
- 10:34you know something keep on coming. 1 is not there another
- 10:38other opportunity comes. I don't say no.
- 10:40I never said no. Maybe how I I, I decided to pick
- 10:45what is right, what is strong, which business I should enter,
- 10:48which business I shouldn't enter, but I never say no.
- 10:52I, I, if there is an opportunity, if the opportunity
- 10:55is genuine, as long as I can able to make a money ethically
- 11:00and I, I always feel that the money, the person giving the
- 11:04money to me, they should feel happy and the first taking money
- 11:08from me, they also should feel happy.
- 11:10I love seeing the smiling face and, and I enjoy seeing the
- 11:15smiling face. So, you know, that's, that's a
- 11:18really time for fun, mom. So that's rather incredible
- 11:23because obviously we're speaking about entrepreneurship and it
- 11:27sounds like at a very, very young age that it was kind of
- 11:31thrust thrust upon you by your mother.
- 11:35And it's so funny how so many people, a lot of our audience
- 11:39right now can be watching and maybe they are entrepreneurs or
- 11:43they're aspiring entrepreneurs and they're reading books.
- 11:46We have countless books, countless podcast, countless
- 11:48videos. Do you know, we're just flooded
- 11:50with content on the Internet telling us how to do it, how to
- 11:55be the best entrepreneur? What is the IT factor?
- 11:59How do we do it efficiently? And all these things.
- 12:02What are the habits we need? What's the mindset we need?
- 12:05What, what are the tools that we need?
- 12:07And I would agree with you with that gratefulness to your
- 12:11mother, just having that situation thrust upon you for
- 12:15you to learn at a very young age that it really is about from the
- 12:20moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed.
- 12:23It's it's a lifestyle for sure. And it sounds like you had to
- 12:29embody that lifestyle at a very, very young age.
- 12:32So when you're going through the rest of your career, it was
- 12:35already second nature to you. It was already natural to you.
- 12:39So that's a really amazing to hear what specifically when
- 12:44we're looking back on your childhood and you're having
- 12:47these, you know what, 16 hour days or you know, however long
- 12:51they are at the age of 13. Was there a specific moment, you
- 12:56know, maybe at in the early hours, four in the morning,
- 13:00maybe in between shifts when you're sitting at school or
- 13:04maybe later in the evening when you're collect?
- 13:07Was there a specific moment that you can think about that helped
- 13:12really shape your identity as an entrepreneur?
- 13:17To be honest, no, no, I I always want to make sure my mom is
- 13:22happy. Her smile, you know, making sure
- 13:26she's happy. My father, he's also, you know,
- 13:29it's a it's a, it's a position where they are, they are the two
- 13:33ideal in your in your world, right.
- 13:35Like you, you don't have whatever they say and you just
- 13:39follow that. That's it.
- 13:40Yeah. If they say my.
- 13:43My cousin brothers or my niece or they are really good.
- 13:46OK, fine. OK, so they are they're thinking
- 13:48they are good. So we have to make sure that we
- 13:50are becoming like that. And it's a real surprises.
- 13:54None of my family members are doing any business.
- 13:58None of them either from my father's side or from my
- 14:03mother's side, none of them are doing a business and and I'm
- 14:07really thankful. To the God that.
- 14:10I'm the I'm the first person from the family settled in
- 14:14abroad and doing a business in abroad and, and with the with
- 14:21the, you know, so many people, I'm sure that lot of people that
- 14:25struggle to come to the UK and I'm really, really blessed.
- 14:29I'm really, really thankful to the God that, you know, I had an
- 14:33opportunity to come to the business and from the day one I
- 14:36came to UK to do from the day one, I was an entrepreneur.
- 14:41I bought AI, took a property to do the bed and breakfast
- 14:45business. And from the day one before even
- 14:48I, I stepped into this land, the God blessed me that I was
- 14:52recruiting a number of the students and I was recruiting, I
- 14:56was doing supporting the immigration for a lot of Indian
- 15:01students. And then then I, I, when I
- 15:03stepped in, I from the day one, I was doing everything as an
- 15:07entrepreneur. I never been, you know, all
- 15:11because it's what I learned from my engage from my childhood, you
- 15:18know, see the opportunity, every opportunity.
- 15:23I'm 100% sure anybody doing the business, it's not going to be
- 15:26an easy life. It's not going to be a simple,
- 15:28you know, it's, it's not going to be a nine to five lifestyle.
- 15:31No, definitely not see, it's it's what you what you want in
- 15:36your life. That's the key.
- 15:38And what is the calling you have in your life?
- 15:40That's the second key. And what do you how you're going
- 15:44to use the God-given gift to you?
- 15:47You know, the gift is given by the God, and if you're not going
- 15:50to use it, somebody going to use it and somebody is going to do
- 15:54it. It doesn't mean that it's not
- 15:56going to happen. No, we have I have seen a lot of
- 15:58ideas which was goes in my mind and somebody doing that idea.
- 16:03Yeah, somebody doing that idea. It's because that I haven't used
- 16:06the God-given gift. And you know, the God spoke to
- 16:10us and he said he is given a vision that this is something is
- 16:14there. So it is other responsible.
- 16:16And I'm, I'm, I'm really, really thankful for, for what I had in
- 16:20my childhood. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
- 16:24And it's you're spot on when you talk about gifts and having that
- 16:30mindset of, OK, well, if I don't act on this, if I don't act on
- 16:35my purpose or act on my gift, it's going to go to somebody
- 16:38else who's ready and it's going to go to somebody else asking
- 16:42for that opportunity. Because we do have opportunities
- 16:45that come to us if we are open. But if we don't understand that,
- 16:52if I guess I would say if we're particular about the types of
- 16:55gifts that we want to use and we have a wide range of gifts, but
- 17:01we're only particular, OK, only want to use this type, then
- 17:05we're going to miss out on a lot of the opportunities that are
- 17:07coming to us. You've been able to really
- 17:10understand that mindset throughout your career,
- 17:13particularly because you've also been able to work across several
- 17:19different industries. So you've worked in education,
- 17:23consulting, immigration law, stone importation.
- 17:27What gave you the courage or what helped you reinvent
- 17:33yourself over and over and over when you're moving through
- 17:36different industries? As I said to you, you know, love
- 17:42making people to smile. I enjoy seeing people to smile,
- 17:48OK? I'm not a good comedian to make
- 17:51somebody to laugh, but when I see, you know, in real life,
- 17:56then the people. So when I started the the
- 17:59buttermilk business, I saw the joy in the people buying the
- 18:02buttermilk because you. We used to get the better
- 18:05quality one making from the home and and so that that's that's
- 18:09where, but I didn't realise because that's the very engaged
- 18:12right. So you don't know what you're
- 18:14enjoying, what you really like. You don't understand that.
- 18:18So then I, I worked as a cameraman, I worked in a, like a
- 18:21videographic company, like a, they take a wedding.
- 18:25I worked as a Courier boy. I worked as a sales executive.
- 18:29I, I, I worked as a telephone selling guy going to the suites
- 18:35of Chennai, selling a telephone boxes.
- 18:38It's all, you know, I have done almost almost every job, you
- 18:43know, and then, and then I, I was, I was, you know, I had an
- 18:49opportunity to, to, to work for a guy who said you, I, I lost a
- 18:58job. You know, I, I, I had the work,
- 19:01I was working with the one call centre and they, all of a sudden
- 19:04they winded up the call centre and they said, sorry, we are
- 19:08going to OK. Then I said, OK, fine.
- 19:11What we are going to do with because I was recently married
- 19:14at that time and then I have to take care of the family because
- 19:19that's one of the big thing because I lost my mom in very
- 19:22young age. I, my mom died when I was in 16.
- 19:26So and my father is not, was not there.
- 19:30So I was all alone. I was having an younger sister
- 19:33and so she was staying with my uncle, but I still need to take
- 19:37care of her. You know the responsibilities
- 19:40more so you need to take care of your your daughter, your son,
- 19:48your wife and your sister. You have a big commitment.
- 19:52You want to make sure that you. Are taking you know, it's the
- 19:55end of the day. You want to see the smile in
- 19:57their face. OK, so So what I did, I had an
- 20:01opportunity to work. As a consultant for an education
- 20:06company, they used to recruit the students in UK and I said to
- 20:10him see if you make me to work I will be a just a normal worker.
- 20:16But we do one thing. Give me the target.
- 20:18What do you want? And and and then I can make sure
- 20:23that I, I, I do the target, I will achieve the target.
- 20:26What you're talking about, I don't know what happened to him.
- 20:29I really say that the. God has spoke to him, I believe.
- 20:32So that person don't even know me.
- 20:36He just deposited the money to open a new branch in different
- 20:39city in Madurai. That's I was in Chennai.
- 20:43From Chennai I just went to Madurai.
- 20:46He said do me a favour. Then you go to Madurai and then.
- 20:50See the Good Place? And I'm going to we can open the
- 20:53branch over there. And I thought, OK, so he's going
- 20:57to open the branch. I'm going to handle the branch.
- 20:59That's what I was thinking. You understood what I mean.
- 21:01I didn't expect that he's actually investing the money on
- 21:05that branch and asking me to run the branch.
- 21:09It was, it was a it was a huge see how come a person imagine,
- 21:13you know, you, I'm talking to somebody right now and the money
- 21:16he invested at that particular time, it's equivalent to today's
- 21:1950,000 lbs. So he don't even know me, he
- 21:23just seen me a couple of times. That's it.
- 21:25And. He said go and then I went
- 21:28there. We did really, really whatever
- 21:31he did for 340 years, we did it in a one year.
- 21:35The counts which he has done the equal into that count, we have
- 21:38done it in a, you know, in a in a 12 months.
- 21:42He was so impressed. And then and then I had an.
- 21:44Opportunity to come to the UK. I thought OK fine, I'm doing the
- 21:49education consulting, so if I need to sell better to my
- 21:52clients, I need to learn the immigration.
- 21:55So I I went to the solicitor. Firm and then.
- 21:59Everything you do it to do better.
- 22:02Yeah. So.
- 22:03So I went to the, you know, I had an opportunity.
- 22:05It's an amazing, amazing, amazing.
- 22:08His name is Doctor Nogolese and he's the still.
- 22:11One of the unimaginable immigration practitioner.
- 22:14He's a doctor. And he was, I worked in a Sri
- 22:17Lankan Human Rights Commission. He's is a massive knowledge
- 22:20person. He said one thing I can teach
- 22:24you immigration, but I won't pay you.
- 22:28You need to work for free. But you have a one thing you can
- 22:31get into return. You can study any file in this
- 22:35form and you can ask me any question.
- 22:38I can make sure that you completely get trained.
- 22:41So I used to go, you know, because I need to make sure that
- 22:44my family also need to be taken care of.
- 22:47So three days, sometimes four days in a week.
- 22:51I work for him with no cost. And it is not a part time, it's
- 22:54a full time because he said very clearly, if you're coming, you
- 22:57need to make sure you're coming at morning 9:30 and make sure
- 23:01you're leaving not before 5:30. So it's like a proper office.
- 23:06Work. I will start at morning 9:30, I
- 23:10will do it till 5:30. But I learned a lot.
- 23:13Every single thing. I went to the first tribunal, I
- 23:17went to the upper tribunal. I sat in the chords, I saw the
- 23:21practise, what they're doing. It was awesome.
- 23:24So that that knowledge helped me to give a best to my clients for
- 23:30the clients which I've been doing as a business, even I was
- 23:33doing a business at that time. So, so every knowledge which I
- 23:37gained, make sure 99.9 success rate in the immigration 99.9%.
- 23:44What he taught me is it's absolutely amazing thing.
- 23:47Make sure that Home Office believe your folk believe when
- 23:53you're signing or when you're representing a case.
- 23:56Make sure they believe you the moment they believed you and
- 24:01things will happen automatically.
- 24:03So I really you know, I'm I'm I'm really thankful for that.
- 24:07Then you know, you're in your life when you're doing the
- 24:11process of growing faster. Sometimes you you started doing
- 24:16here and there wrong. You know, the the stuff and
- 24:20something. I felt that I'm not going the
- 24:23way the God, you know, given the purpose, you know something
- 24:27which is not right. OK, fine.
- 24:31So the person because in the immigration, we don't make much
- 24:35money when you're doing it genuinely, you know, you know,
- 24:39it's a usual practise for a for a, for a, you know, it's making
- 24:43an individual. If you say, you know, imagine
- 24:45yourself that you're, you're going to say, don't worry, The
- 24:50scarce is, is ordinary stuff. You can even this matter in 50
- 24:54days. Do you think the clients will
- 24:56pay big money? No, they don't pay the big
- 24:58money. So I was so genuine to my
- 25:01clients. Unfortunately, I was unable to
- 25:03make family life, you know, like I'm unable to keep up my bills
- 25:06because when you're too genuine and then and then.
- 25:10It is key. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:13So you end up in, you end up in doing something.
- 25:17OK, fine. What?
- 25:18What need to be done? What?
- 25:19What are the other opportunity? Then I said OK, fine.
- 25:22The people giving the money to me, they are not happy, you
- 25:26know, they're, they're not comfortable, which makes me, you
- 25:29know, because you end of the day, you're earning to run your
- 25:33family, you're earning to run your basic needs.
- 25:36That's what you initially, you start your life in the UK.
- 25:39So you're, you're not going to immediately, you're not going to
- 25:43having that much of a big money and you're going to make, make a
- 25:46building or no, nothing. It's not going to happen.
- 25:48Then I said, OK, I'm going to do something different, which will
- 25:52makes everyone happy. So that's how I started the
- 25:56granite business. That's how I entered into the
- 26:00granite business and to run the granite business.
- 26:04I want to do it better. So I learned the technology to
- 26:09serve, how to serve a lot of our customers.
- 26:12See, from childhood, I always love to do a massive impact.
- 26:16You know, I, I, if you ask me to sell 10 pieces of something, I
- 26:21always focus on thousand pieces, how to sell the thousand pieces
- 26:25rather than selling a 10 pieces. You, you, you understood what I
- 26:29mean. You know, from the childhood it
- 26:31is, it's been there when I, when I used to, because in the age of
- 26:3515, I was selling 1000 buttermilk in a day, which is,
- 26:40which is a huge money. It's a huge money.
- 26:42So I always thought about doing something massive.
- 26:46So I said OK, fine. Mindset, skill set, Tool set.
- 26:51Exactly. So I said, OK, fine.
- 26:53So I quit the immigration law practise.
- 26:55I said, you know, this is not something that's it's, it's not
- 26:58going to make us happy. It's not going to help us to
- 27:01make an ethical way of making money.
- 27:03So I went into the granted business.
- 27:06I started the granted. It is a toughest.
- 27:09Of days it is. Toughest, toughest days in the
- 27:12life, you know, you being as a people usually see you when
- 27:16you're doing an immigration, when you do have a so much of A
- 27:19success rate, people see you as a like a God.
- 27:22You know, people think, Oh my goodness, if I go to this guy,
- 27:25if I, you know, he, this guy will help me to get the visas to
- 27:29stay in the UK. But from that life I went to
- 27:34very worst life because selling a stone, the stone industry, it
- 27:39is 90% of the people when I was entering 90% of the people, they
- 27:44are a second generation, a third generation running business.
- 27:49So how do you think that they will treat you?
- 27:51And 1st, The thing is according to them, I'm from a different
- 27:54nationality. I'm not from here, I'm from
- 27:56different country. Second, I am I, they are not
- 28:01sure whether this quality of the stone which they are expecting
- 28:05I'm going to produce or not. 3rd, whether I'm a trustable guy
- 28:10or not. So I had a very, very tough
- 28:13time. I I believe nearly we lost
- 28:17£250,000 to 500,000 lbs. I lost in the first to two to.
- 28:23Three years of my business. Wow, sorry to interrupt you,
- 28:28Kumar. Right.
- 28:29You're just alluding to something we have said on the
- 28:32podcast before. In order to make money, you need
- 28:353 things. You need credibility, you need
- 28:37authority, and you need a monetization funnel.
- 28:40And those are the three things you just alluded to right now.
- 28:43And I appreciate you very much for being on the podcast and of
- 28:48course, sharing your story. It's really, really amazing.
- 28:51So I'll let you continue your train of thoughts, but just
- 28:55thought to give you up some props and appreciation of your
- 28:58mindset and the skill set and your tool set.
- 29:00Sure, sure, sure. So, so, so This is why even now
- 29:05I'm starting because everyone said to me, Kumar, you're 40,
- 29:11don't do anything stupid. Don't start anything new.
- 29:14And, and and and what you're doing right now, strive to be in
- 29:18the in the same, same. You know what you're doing.
- 29:21No, no, I'm looking for something really great.
- 29:25I'm looking something. This is not something that God
- 29:29has called me for. So so we started the software
- 29:33company. I failed.
- 29:35In the last 10 years I have lost everything, everything in my
- 29:40life, almost 0 again. I restarted it and now we have a
- 29:49company which has worktops.com, an average of a 50 to 70,000
- 29:54users every month. They use the worktops.com and
- 29:58the people said, OK, fine, you, you done the something in the
- 30:01worktops. Just stick on to it.
- 30:03Don't go something new. I said no because this is not
- 30:07something which I was looking for.
- 30:09I'm looking something completely new.
- 30:11So, so every problem, you know, every pain has I have gone
- 30:16through. I just want to make sure that
- 30:18somebody not, shouldn't go through the same thing.
- 30:22So that's how the my Project dot AI started, Dragon customer
- 30:25started. We adopted the school in India.
- 30:28It's ASAP Foundation and we are, we are educating nearly 15 to 20
- 30:34students right now. It's a, it's completely
- 30:36government school. We adopted it and we are
- 30:39providing everything in the infrastructure, everything for
- 30:42them. And you cannot stop, right?
- 30:46You cannot stop thinking. You cannot stop doing something
- 30:51different. You cannot be, because if you're
- 30:53really hungry, if you're really thirsty to do something really
- 30:59impacting the people, then you should do something different.
- 31:03And, and, and, and, you know, a lot of times, of course, it's a
- 31:07mind, right? It's, it's, it's a very, it's a
- 31:09very tricky thing. You know, it's, it's a, if we
- 31:13win our mind, we can win everything.
- 31:15That's really true. But sometimes this mind tells
- 31:18you, you know, no man, you have to be a comfortable life.
- 31:23What are you doing it right now is is you're going to lose
- 31:26everything. I believe I really thankful to
- 31:32the God, you know that he has given the opportunity and I have
- 31:38come so much, so much far to make this impact.
- 31:44If I stop some of the times this is the question goes in my mind.
- 31:49You have come across so much long way, few loads or
- 31:56completely lonely walk, completely, completely lonely
- 32:01walk. And then if you're going to give
- 32:04up right now, what does the use of those walks get up?
- 32:13That's actually something that AI was talking about last night.
- 32:18I'm in a personal conversation we're having.
- 32:20He actually mentioned the same thing.
- 32:23He we're talking about how if God is taking you through these
- 32:29failures, which if you're an entrepreneur, you are very
- 32:33familiar with failure and it's not just once, OK, it's about
- 32:38multiple times. And it's very natural to be a
- 32:42friend, be a friend to failure. Make make failure your friend.
- 32:45If you're listening to this podcast and you are a business
- 32:49owner or an entrepreneur. So I just think it's so funny.
- 32:52But yes, AI was talking about how when we are walking through
- 32:56these failures and you have a calling on your life or you have
- 33:00a mission on your life for a business or a purpose, or you
- 33:03understand the people you see, the people who are, you know,
- 33:06relying on you, relying on your success and relying on you to
- 33:10follow through, What happens if you just stop?
- 33:13And in my mind, I envision like this desert, like walking
- 33:17through a desert. And it's like, OK, well, what if
- 33:20you stop? If you're halfway through the
- 33:22desert, what do you like? What are you going to do?
- 33:25You're just going to lay down in the desert?
- 33:28It's just not an option. So we love to hear that type of
- 33:32mindset. So from individuals who
- 33:35understand that, yes, it's a relentless journey.
- 33:39And yes, it involves sometimes relentless failure, but it does
- 33:44let up. It's not forever relentless.
- 33:47It does break and you know, we talk about faith a lot on this
- 33:51podcast, but you know, through faith and perseverance and being
- 33:55creative even, that's another thing that we're really talking
- 33:57about when we are not only changing industries, you know,
- 34:02sometimes, but just going with the flow of possibilities and
- 34:06opportunities is having space of creativeness and having that
- 34:11mindset of OK, well, I don't just want to do the bare minimum
- 34:15I want to do. I want to execute it
- 34:18exponentially. So like you said, I don't want
- 34:20to sell 10, I want to sell 10,000.
- 34:23So having that type of intention does really help you drive
- 34:28through to the next level. Just having massive goals and
- 34:32massive dreams. You with that being said, you've
- 34:36described yourself as an entrepreneur and a dad with
- 34:41purpose. What does purpose mean for you?
- 34:46You know, since how, since becoming a father, how has that
- 34:49shifted and what's really been? How would you describe your
- 34:55purpose now that it's shifted a little bit?
- 35:00See, I married in a very engaged, very engaged.
- 35:04I married in 20 and when I had my son at that time, I believe
- 35:10we are we. Were in 21 or 22.
- 35:13So you, you don't understand the father's role.
- 35:19You know, it's it's too early to understand the father's role.
- 35:22You become a father so early and then you don't understand it.
- 35:27By the time you understood the kids are the my son has grown,
- 35:31but I have a dutiful daughter which she born.
- 35:35After eight, 7-8 years after my 7, my son, and that's like, you
- 35:44know, being a she's the one advocate in your family to to
- 35:51talk on behalf of the father. It's it's the usual stuff.
- 35:54You understood what I mean. So before even it realise I, you
- 35:59know, I had a situation that you know, my, my, my ex-wife, she
- 36:05said, I'm sorry, you're making too much of A failure and I have
- 36:12something a different journey to go on.
- 36:15So it's 18 years, a married life.
- 36:18It came to an end and and and she took the my daughter with
- 36:26her and unfortunately I couldn't see her for almost a 1.5 years
- 36:29now. It's I understood the value
- 36:32right now. That's the purpose.
- 36:35I understood the purpose of being a father.
- 36:38And how responsible you have to be, you know?
- 36:41See, of course I've been as a, as a, as a.
- 36:44Father, I call myself as a good provider.
- 36:46It doesn't matter whatever does happen when you're a leader,
- 36:49when you're an entrepreneur primarily you're a provider.
- 36:52No matter what you go through, you provide for the people who
- 36:58you know. I have a 35 people working in
- 37:00our team right now and automatically you become a
- 37:03provider, you know, you provide whether they hurt you that
- 37:07whether they do the job, whether they like it, whether they don't
- 37:10like it, it doesn't matter. They believe you.
- 37:13Somehow and another how they are believing you, the trusting gear
- 37:18and and and the father. I believe it's ultimate end of
- 37:23the day, the father's responsibility.
- 37:25Every entrepreneur is indirectly he's a father, it doesn't
- 37:29matter. A father or mother, you know,
- 37:32it's it's they are provider they have to provide for the team and
- 37:36and you know, I I really thankful to the God that he had
- 37:41an he has given the opportunity to to to make the people to
- 37:47believe me and trust me and, and, and he.
- 37:52Gave me the. Opportunity to do what I need to
- 37:54do to to provide as a as a father still now my son, you
- 38:01know, he you know, he's 8 in 19. He's doing a business and my
- 38:07daughter on and off. I try to go and see far from her
- 38:11and and it's it's a love. Father is, is, is.
- 38:17It's a love you cannot describe or you cannot tell.
- 38:22In a in a simple. Words.
- 38:24It's, it's beyond the words, I, I, I say that, but sometimes
- 38:29it's the life that you have to go through everything to fulfil
- 38:33the calling which has been given to you.
- 38:36Wow, I'll just touch it. What you said a little bit.
- 38:40But you, you've been giving me a lot of smiles.
- 38:42And for people that don't know the back story, Raisa from
- 38:47Kumar, you know, met recently out of business event in London,
- 38:53England. And we did speak about, you
- 38:56know, mindset, philosophies, skill set, tool sets.
- 39:00And it's interesting how you explained the framework of
- 39:05people connected. That is, people would always
- 39:08connect if they speak the same language, and a person's
- 39:12personal language is basically formed by their top 200
- 39:17favourite words. And it's interesting how a lot
- 39:22of the words in your top 200 list are the same as my own top
- 39:26200, and that as well. But.
- 39:31It's interesting that a lot of things that have been well
- 39:34documented on this podcast would be saying are things that you
- 39:38are activating and of course, even something from a personal
- 39:41discussion, you know, yesterday. So I've documented this on this
- 39:47podcast with Brian, I've said this on the podcast before, that
- 39:50the role of of father, the role of a man in society are three
- 39:58things. Number one, to provide #2 to
- 40:01protect and #3 to preserve. And I'd love for you to speak to
- 40:07those three things, right? To provide, to protect, and to
- 40:10preserve. Do you agree with that?
- 40:13100 percent, 100% 100% The primary responsible.
- 40:20For a. For a.
- 40:21Human and the God blessed as a man, we have to provide.
- 40:26We have to provide. Of course we we do.
- 40:29We don't understand certain things in a certain age.
- 40:32You try to understand few things in later part of your life.
- 40:37By the time you already crossed half of it, it's it's not an
- 40:41issue. You know, it's still if you're
- 40:43listening, if you're, if you're talking, which means that we
- 40:46have a breed, which means that we.
- 40:48Have. To be in a position to provide
- 40:51and protect, of course it's, it's a default attitude of a
- 40:56human as a man, our, as a father or mother, it's a protection.
- 41:01It's it's it's an it's an becomes automatic, you know, the
- 41:04good human always to try to protect the loved ones and
- 41:08nobody's going to be different from others.
- 41:10So it's a protection to happens all the time and then.
- 41:13Preserve. Yeah, of course we preserve.
- 41:15Culture. We preserve.
- 41:17A family reputation we preserve we don't understand everything
- 41:21in in in the engage. We if we are understanding it,
- 41:25certain things and they're very engaged because especially when
- 41:28I grown up, there's nobody has to tell me that you know you're
- 41:32doing right or you're doing wrong because the moment my mom
- 41:36passed away in the age of 16 and I've been all alone and from
- 41:42that age as my father was not there and and you know, I was I
- 41:47was just literally in a blind spot.
- 41:50I don't know what I need to do my head miss, if she's not
- 41:54there, I wouldn't be completing the schooling at all.
- 41:57So she said to me, my mom, you know, just before few days of
- 42:01her of. Her.
- 42:03Her death and she came to the school and she said to the I
- 42:06believe she said to my head teacher, it's a very difficult
- 42:09to make make him to do what you need to do.
- 42:12I'm giving you responsibility to you.
- 42:15Just take care of him. I don't know if she said in a in
- 42:18a in a normal way and but the high Marbara head misses she
- 42:21doesn't know understand you're not that particular time.
- 42:24But she used to say even right now, and the one thing which
- 42:28your mom said to me, I just still remember that, you know?
- 42:31Yeah. If she's not there.
- 42:32If my head misses is not that I wouldn't be completing the
- 42:34school at all. I really really even till today,
- 42:37I'm really thankful to her on and off.
- 42:40I call her, I tell her, if you're not there, I wouldn't be
- 42:43here because sometimes their their way of handling is
- 42:46completely different, right. You know, now the kids say your
- 42:50parent, you guys are strict or this that and all but those days
- 42:54you just blindly listen to them, whatever they say and you follow
- 42:59to them. You don't understand why they
- 43:00are saying what they're saying, but it's.
- 43:03Love. Whatever, I, I really thankful
- 43:06to every people who came in my life and you know, help me to be
- 43:12who I am right now because without them, I wouldn't be
- 43:15building this kind of a protection attitude or
- 43:17preserving attitude or providing attitude.
- 43:20They, they taught me these are the human nature and being a
- 43:24father or being a entrepreneur, being a leader or being a owner
- 43:28of the company, you have to do a certain things.
- 43:30Wow. So what do you think is the most
- 43:35important mindset shift that separates people who succeed
- 43:40from people who stay stark? Don't give up.
- 43:45Don't give up. Never give up on you.
- 43:47Everybody can give up on you. I'm sure that God is not going
- 43:51to give up on you. That's why he's still helping
- 43:53you to do what you need to do. But don't give up on you just
- 43:57because I I love les prom. I love les prom.
- 44:00Someone's opinion doesn't have to be your reality.
- 44:05You know, I love, I love this words, you know, on and off
- 44:09someone's opinion doesn't have to be your.
- 44:11Yeah. No, it's not.
- 44:13There. Wow.
- 44:14If you zoom into my background and there's a quote on the wall,
- 44:17it says it's not over when you use.
- 44:19It's overwhelming. Yeah, it's not over until you
- 44:24finish. It's over.
- 44:27Yeah, it's it's quite interesting how rich culture and
- 44:34the renting influence, you know, has actually shaped your life.
- 44:39It's important that as parents, we we guide our children and
- 44:44even the Bible says teacher child in the way he should grow
- 44:47and when he grows, we shall not department.
- 44:50And you know, I made a mental note earlier about something you
- 44:54were talking about, about using your gifts, right?
- 44:56So. Even the the.
- 44:58Bible in the book of Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 16, the King
- 45:02James Version states a man's gift maketh room for him and
- 45:07bringeth him for great man, right.
- 45:11So you always think in terms of greatness, not in terms of being
- 45:17small minded. And these things actually align
- 45:21with Bible principles. So before I will pass you on to
- 45:26back to the same hands of my Co host, I'd like for you to talk
- 45:30about, you know, your faith influence.
- 45:34Whereas faith is something myself and I know and I actually
- 45:37hold very, very dearly. So yeah, without faith it's
- 45:41impossible to please God and faith is a suffers of peace.
- 45:43Hopes will be evidence of him is not seen according to you
- 45:46Chapter 11 + 1. So how would you say faith has
- 45:49actually inspired you in terms of shaping the mindset, the
- 45:53skill set and your tool set? Without the faith I wouldn't be
- 45:57here. I've been doing this practise
- 46:01for almost a year right now. I keep on saying to myself that
- 46:05that I trust you, I love you. I have a faith in you every
- 46:10single time you know, whenever you know it's it's.
- 46:13You, you, you just to go through certain.
- 46:16Type of a life, certain type of a day, I trust, I trust him more
- 46:20than myself. You know, I have a faith in him
- 46:24more than myself because. It's a it's AI.
- 46:27Remember the days, you know, imagine of a meeting as well.
- 46:30You know, it's, it's a out of a blue moon.
- 46:33Miraculous. It's, it's completely out of a
- 46:36blue moon. I, I, I'm, I'm not the guy.
- 46:39I I just like that I, I sit in a certain places and relax myself.
- 46:45No, I'm not the guy. I, I, if I need to, I'm a, I'm
- 46:48a, I'm a more private person. I can say, you know, I, I sit, I
- 46:53don't sit in a crowd. Yeah.
- 46:56You weren't talking to anybody. You were not talking to anybody.
- 46:58Do you want to hear the gist? I said to you know, when I when
- 47:02I it's, it's, it's a miraculous to come to that show.
- 47:05You know, the business show. I was just browsing at something
- 47:08on the online and then this business show came up and then I
- 47:13said, my goodness, that was a show.
- 47:15OK, let's I even I was in the suspect whether to go not to go.
- 47:21I felt, you know, you know, in a, in a, in a, in a spirit like
- 47:25I should go. OK, then I haven't planned for a
- 47:28day. Usually I start even if I need
- 47:30to come to London, I start in the early in the morning, but I
- 47:35started at 9:00 and then I don't, I don't take a whole day
- 47:39to see these kind of issues. You know, I, I do it in the 2-3
- 47:43hours and then I back and then I start my regular office works.
- 47:48This is how you know, even in the previous day when I had with
- 47:51my friend, you know, I was, I was asking him whether he like
- 47:55to join with me. And then he said to me, no, we
- 47:58can go out. 10:00 I said, no, bro, I need to grow in the
- 48:01morning. So it's a it's a it's a God, you
- 48:04know, it's a faith. If I don't have a faith on him
- 48:06and if if he's he knows, you know, he knows what you need to
- 48:10do and more than us and, and, and I really thankful for the
- 48:16day. You know, it's, it's unplanned
- 48:19thing. It's unplanned thing.
- 48:21You were saying you were contemplating whether to go or
- 48:23not to go. I'm laughing because I was also
- 48:27contemplating, but Noella, you know, American accent was like,
- 48:30you have to go for that show. That's all.
- 48:35You're not going here. I didn't say for that show, but
- 48:40I did say he was going. Yeah, the the, yeah, the
- 48:43business event, yeah, I said you have to go for that business,
- 48:46that market event, you have to go, you're going to meet people.
- 48:50I'm like, OK, then I never knew that she was instructing me that
- 48:54you have to go and meet Kumar. It's a God.
- 49:00You know, it was funny. It was funny, like we, myself
- 49:03and my friend were walking and then there was this young French
- 49:08lady that was drunk seated on seat I just sent to him.
- 49:14And then my friend will walk here.
- 49:15And then the guy said, hey, you guys come.
- 49:17I'm like, excuse me, do we know you?
- 49:20And then he's like I said, come, yeah, I'm calling you come.
- 49:23And we went there and my friend was talking to her.
- 49:27I greeted her and then I saw some guys around.
- 49:30Then my spirit was like, you talk to this guy And I said,
- 49:33hey, hello, how are you? Then you looked at me.
- 49:35All that because he was literally on his phone.
- 49:38He was pressing his phone and I greeted him and he was like, OK,
- 49:42OK, hi. And then, you know, we got
- 49:44talking and I got to know he owns an AI platform.
- 49:49Like well, I said, OK, my name is AI.
- 49:52It's nice to meet you. And you know, that is how
- 49:55everything happened. So I'll pass you back to do
- 49:58Ella. It's just great to hear.
- 50:03I love hearing about synchronicity.
- 50:05You know, everything is really synchronised, we just don't
- 50:08understand until it happens sometimes.
- 50:10So then we remember. So it's really good to leave
- 50:13that in for sure. In your work you've actually
- 50:17pioneered Microsoft Dynamics CRM into pseudo recruitment and and
- 50:22you implemented something called SAP in a solicitor firm.
- 50:28What that drives your passion behind technology and these
- 50:33types of systems that you've built?
- 50:38I always try to provide the better service.
- 50:41Even till today, even now I see a lot of new technologies.
- 50:45What is there in the market, how we can able to provide better?
- 50:50You know how everyone will have some kind of searching attitude.
- 50:54You know, everybody search for something, OK, I always search
- 50:58for something the best I can able to do I can to do for my
- 51:02client and to do for our customers and and even even the
- 51:07my project dot AI our vision to make it 10 minutes to find and
- 51:12finalise. It's impossible to find a trader
- 51:16in the construction industry in 10 minutes, but our aim,
- 51:21according to our vision, if you check my project, our aim is to
- 51:27provide service to help an individual to find a tradesman
- 51:33in 10 minutes. They have to find and finalise.
- 51:36It's always, you know, you have thirsty to serve best, you want
- 51:42to become a best and that's how you can be able to serve best.
- 51:47So when we, I believe we are the first company succeeded in the
- 51:53stone industry, in the worktop industry doing what we are doing
- 51:57right now because I tried 3-4 times before the worktops.com
- 52:02everything got frayed and everyone said it's not going to
- 52:07work in the stone industry. And and no, I didn't give up
- 52:11because I believe strongly that I believe there are, there are
- 52:16similar to me. There are six to seven companies
- 52:18they tried as well before or during my period and none of
- 52:23them, they succeeded even till today.
- 52:26I have a lot of other clear people.
- 52:28They copied my concept and they try to do it.
- 52:31No, it's not that. Even if somebody says to me, are
- 52:34they going to copy what I'm doing right now?
- 52:36It's no, because unless, until you're going to put yourself in
- 52:41the heart and soul and doing something that you're passionate
- 52:46about it, unless you're not doing it, it's not going to
- 52:49happen. You can copy from anybody, you
- 52:52can get it from anybody. So I always thirsty in providing
- 52:55something better for my our customers.
- 52:58So I search for better software, better technology, better stone
- 53:04or whatever it is which can be able to make them comfortable.
- 53:09You know it, imagine you, you're, you're buying something
- 53:13in the online and you've been buying, you want to spend nearly
- 53:17five days or four days to buy that rather, I provide that in 5
- 53:22minutes with all the questions which you're going to ask me
- 53:27with the answer as already made with the people who already used
- 53:31our service and how it's going to be.
- 53:34So I was, I was the first guy who introduced the Microsoft
- 53:40dynamic system in the student recruitment industry.
- 53:43And then I modified it because everyone said to me, you're
- 53:47making thousands and you're spending in LAX.
- 53:50I said no, because, because I'm going to volume increase the
- 53:55maximise the business, I'm going to scale the business.
- 53:58I don't understand the word scaling.
- 54:00You know I I recently learned the scaling word, but at that
- 54:03particular time I don't know what is the word called scaling.
- 54:06At all. I all I said to, said to the
- 54:10people who were, you know, are you serious that you're going to
- 54:15invested this much of money to, in your, in your education
- 54:20business? And, and, and even even the guy
- 54:23who gave the business to me, even he doesn't use the
- 54:27softwares and I'm working under him.
- 54:30You know, he's given a franchise for me and then I'm working and
- 54:36I am doing 10 times or 20 times larger than what he's doing and
- 54:43investing that much of the money in the, in the software.
- 54:46And then we, we succeeded it. I'm really happy that, you know,
- 54:50the model which we have done everything is an automated, you
- 54:53know, one, if a person applies in one university, he can able
- 54:59to get it from multiple university offer letter.
- 55:02That's the application which we developed and you know, it's
- 55:05really, I'm really happy for that.
- 55:10Wow do I love to come up with an introduction.
- 55:14So that's something I love to see.
- 55:16In order to be the best, you have to beat the best, and the
- 55:18best is blessed. So we love scaling over here as
- 55:23well. So I was laughing earlier when
- 55:25he said history about how he used to sell like a lot of
- 55:29bottle milks, right? He's thinking in thousands and
- 55:32then these guys are thinking in 10's and hundreds.
- 55:34Like it's it's a different numbers game.
- 55:37Anyways, you did sell bottle milk.
- 55:39In my country we have some people called bottle mean.
- 55:45So I'll pass you back to Noella. So I just wanted to highlight
- 55:50something because. In this conversation, we're
- 55:53trying to see kind of gaps that you saw in your industries that
- 55:58you're that you're pursuing that others may ignore.
- 56:04And from your response, it really sounds like, and this is
- 56:10partially because of the way you grew up, partially maybe just
- 56:14because of your character, but you do have a heart for serving
- 56:19and a heart for seeing joy and other people when you serve
- 56:22them. So, and I just wanted to shed a
- 56:25light on it because a pillar of having excellent service and
- 56:32understanding excellent service is understanding the questions
- 56:39that the person you're serving is going to ask before they ask
- 56:42them. Understanding their needs before
- 56:47they express them. I have an extensive background
- 56:50and hospitality and corporate event planning, sports bars,
- 56:56fine dining. There's a lot, there's a lot in
- 56:59my background. And I just wanted to shed a
- 57:01light on that because as entrepreneurs and as business
- 57:06owners, we primarily are trying to solve problems for people,
- 57:13for a certain group of people or a certain niche.
- 57:16I'm a certain perfect customer. But when you shift that into a
- 57:21sense of not even necessarily over serving, because it's not
- 57:27over serving. If you're just serving their
- 57:30deepest needs before they understand that's what they
- 57:33actually need, that is the gap. And that is the gap.
- 57:37And it's only a gap because a lot of times, just like maybe
- 57:41when you're going to a restaurant and you're sitting
- 57:43down and you're ordering something, a customer isn't
- 57:47going to know they're missing a napkin until their food comes
- 57:51and there's not a napkin on the table.
- 57:53That's not something that someone would think that they
- 57:55have to ask for, because they shouldn't have to ask for that.
- 57:58So when we're thinking of all of the steps of service, you know,
- 58:01even when we're giving. So for example, another very
- 58:05small example, like when you're at a restaurant, you wouldn't
- 58:09have to ask for a refill if it's already brought to you when your
- 58:14glass is halfway full or almost gone, right?
- 58:17So the person serving you is already anticipating your needs,
- 58:21already understanding what you are going to want in order to
- 58:27have a full experience and a full satisfying experience.
- 58:33You're able to serve that ahead of them asking for it.
- 58:36Just really wanted to shed a light on that because having a
- 58:39serving spirit and having a heart for service is really
- 58:43going to, again, allow people to believe you, which is a huge
- 58:50driver that we're talking about. Knowing you, liking you,
- 58:53trusting you, and building those relationships.
- 58:57When it comes to you spotting new opportunities, you've
- 59:01mentioned several Times Now that you never say no and anytime an
- 59:06opportunity comes up, if you're able to take it, you're snashing
- 59:09it and you're going to crush it. What do you have a particular
- 59:14framework for spotting opportunities and industries?
- 59:18For example, do you look for things that are maybe old
- 59:23fashioned or things that are slow that it's an opportunity
- 59:27for you to improve upon that? What is your type of framework
- 59:31when you're looking for these types of opportunities?
- 59:36See for me, the first thing which I look is whether is this
- 59:42going to help us to make our customers happy.
- 59:47That's the point number one, you, you, every person who's
- 59:53going to provide the service what they, what they want to do
- 59:57it or every opportunity comes with the people you're going to
- 1:00:02deal with. They have to feel comfortable.
- 1:00:03They have to feel the full joy I have.
- 1:00:06I'm really blessed with the wonderful team.
- 1:00:09I'm really, really blessed. They take care of me like a
- 1:00:13baby. I take care of them like that
- 1:00:15baby. You know, they if I say
- 1:00:16something, you know, I need this, this, this.
- 1:00:19So my team trusting me. So every decision which I'm
- 1:00:22going to make, I need to make sure that I'm going to, it's not
- 1:00:24going to impact their life. It's a 35 families.
- 1:00:28It's strongly believing us and doing that.
- 1:00:31So every opportunity when I when I see the opportunity, the first
- 1:00:35thing, it's a very, very primary thing.
- 1:00:38Is this going to make a is this going to bring the happiness for
- 1:00:42me? That's the first thing is this
- 1:00:45going to bring happiness for the people who are going to get
- 1:00:48involved into it and is that the happiness is going to get the
- 1:00:53service if it is a product or if it is a service or anything,
- 1:00:56which is, is that going to they are going to feel happy the the
- 1:01:00way I'm going to do it. It's going to make them, you
- 1:01:04know, the, the joy of having the product or service which we are
- 1:01:09going to do it to them. So this is the key, this is the,
- 1:01:13this is the primary thing which I look for.
- 1:01:16And then the rest is the God spirit.
- 1:01:18You know, you when you're doing, when you're taking a decision.
- 1:01:21So obviously the, the, the, the God usually speaks to you, you
- 1:01:26have a in the presence that this is something you're doing right.
- 1:01:29This is something you're not doing right or you're doing
- 1:01:31wrong. These, these things happens.
- 1:01:34This is happens on, on default on on default of a process.
- 1:01:39It happens. If you're talking as an
- 1:01:40individually, as a, as a myself, as a person, I see these three
- 1:01:44things. So knowing if it's going to make
- 1:01:49you happy, make the customers happy and obviously if it's good
- 1:01:54for your team, I think that's amazing as a leader for sure.
- 1:01:59We're going to talk a little bit about worktops.com and how it's
- 1:02:04really been a disruptor for traditionalindustriessoworktops.com
- 1:02:10and now serves home owners, stone Masons and suppliers using
- 1:02:15AI. And what it does is, as you said
- 1:02:19earlier, matches people with the right stones.
- 1:02:23On what problem were you solving at the beginning?
- 1:02:27I know that you mentioned you wanted people to be matched
- 1:02:31within 10 minutes. How has the problem solving
- 1:02:36evolved really from the beginning to where you're at
- 1:02:39right now? OK, so the workups.com, it has
- 1:02:46several stages of transformations.
- 1:02:48Initially we started with a different ban and tried, failed,
- 1:02:51tried, failed to try to fail. I've been trying the work of
- 1:02:54industry for almost 10 years plus.
- 1:02:56Right now, 90% of the the work tops.com is started for B to B
- 1:03:02Actually we started the software for B to B.
- 1:03:06So the P, the stone Masons across the country, they were
- 1:03:09searching for the stone which they can't find, but someone in
- 1:03:13the country they will be having that particular material.
- 1:03:17So we have started the worktops.com only for the B to B
- 1:03:20and then, and then lot of the people are using our website
- 1:03:24and, and the beginning stages of the worktops.com because we are
- 1:03:28the first to company listed every single stone because it
- 1:03:32it's required lot of a teamwork and lot of a time and lot of an
- 1:03:36energy and, and system in place. And then we did everything and
- 1:03:42we once we've done everything, nobody is the people who are
- 1:03:45using the service, but they're not buying from us.
- 1:03:48So it's, it's, it's really, you know, that was the biggest
- 1:03:51thing. And then I contacted almost
- 1:03:54nearly 300 to 500 clients traders in the industry.
- 1:03:59And then I asked them, you know, you guys, so you know, you, you,
- 1:04:03you asked for something. Because when I started the
- 1:04:06initial of the work of business are we imported the granites
- 1:04:10from India to UK. And then when I imported it at
- 1:04:14that particular time there is a material called quartz.
- 1:04:17It started, you know, becoming so popular and whatever the
- 1:04:21stone which I imported, nobody was ready to buy.
- 1:04:24And they were telling to me, no, we will buy quartz this, this,
- 1:04:27this, this. And then first I have to
- 1:04:30overcome the import of the material, which I have done.
- 1:04:33I have to make sure that I'm selling it and making the profit
- 1:04:36which fade. And then we had a heavy loss.
- 1:04:41And then the second thing is people asking something because
- 1:04:45I quit my law profession. I said, I'm not going to go back
- 1:04:48to the profession. God, you need to tell me what I
- 1:04:50need to do it. And the God showed me this way
- 1:04:54and and I need to do something over here.
- 1:04:57So, and then I signed up with an A company and I started
- 1:05:03marketing their product and we did nationwide and all of a
- 1:05:08sudden and that company, you know, they, they said, you know,
- 1:05:14you know what, like we, we can't work with you because you're
- 1:05:18eating our business. I said, we have a contract in
- 1:05:21place, but you know, they, they, they bypassed as they tried to
- 1:05:25sell without knowing, as they started selling directly to the
- 1:05:28customers, which without knowing as so I said, Oh my goodness.
- 1:05:32So I worked a lot and what I'm going to do right now, that time
- 1:05:37I had an idea if I sold for A1 company, if I become a marketing
- 1:05:41partner for one company, if that put me down, I'm not I'm going
- 1:05:46to end up in this place. What happened if I'm going to do
- 1:05:49for all the companies in the UK at that particular time, there
- 1:05:52are around 6070 distribution companies in the Uki went to
- 1:05:58everyone. I spoke to everyone, most of
- 1:06:02them they said yes, you know, I'm happy to work with you and I
- 1:06:07can give you the discount in the product and then you can, you
- 1:06:10know, sell it then. So we we took the lot of
- 1:06:13initiative. We listed all the materials and
- 1:06:16then once we started listing the materials, the people who are
- 1:06:18trying to use our image search because there is no at that
- 1:06:23particular time, the Google search was not there.
- 1:06:26You know the image search was not there.
- 1:06:28So we were the first company introduced the image search
- 1:06:32option. Even now I don't think so that
- 1:06:35the Google will search the material, but it won't show you
- 1:06:38who is having that. You know it will show you the
- 1:06:40materials, but it will it won't show you who have the actual
- 1:06:44stock, but the work Top Stock will provide.
- 1:06:47We, we have a, we have a stock nearly 37,000 slabs has been
- 1:06:51listed in our in our website and and we listed almost every
- 1:06:57single companies in the UK. We listed their materials and
- 1:07:02then and then and then nobody ready to buy.
- 1:07:06And then I asked them what you guys are not buying from this,
- 1:07:09you know, asked for kind of a service based on your
- 1:07:13expectation. We developed the software and we
- 1:07:16have it in the market. You are using it, but you're
- 1:07:18not, you know, you're not buying from us.
- 1:07:20And they said, you know what, like, because the moment we see
- 1:07:22the image, we can know which warehouse the material is coming
- 1:07:25from. So we can buy directly from
- 1:07:27them, we can able to get the discount.
- 1:07:29Then I said, OK, see, I developed it and what is the
- 1:07:32difficulties you having it and tell me that then you know, I
- 1:07:36well, we can, we can find a way to work together.
- 1:07:40They said it's a difficult to get the customer.
- 1:07:43Can you help us to get the customer?
- 1:07:46Then I said, OK, one, so instead of AB to B, why can't we do the
- 1:07:51B to C? This is where the real change
- 1:07:53happened. And, and we the moment we
- 1:07:56started B to C, initially we were just a lead generation
- 1:07:59company. We were creating a lead and we
- 1:08:01were passing the leads to the, you know, the stone Masons
- 1:08:05across the country. And then I don't see the value
- 1:08:09the customers, you know, they're getting it because they are
- 1:08:13trusting us, they're coming to us, but unfortunately they're
- 1:08:16not being served properly. Then we started doing the
- 1:08:20project by us. You know, we started taking the
- 1:08:22project and now we, we, we have a three big partners who do
- 1:08:28almost a 500 kitchen in a month. Massive, massive companies, They
- 1:08:33become a partners right now with us.
- 1:08:35You know, it's, it's everything has changed.
- 1:08:37You know, it's a one single overnight.
- 1:08:40Everything has changed from 500 to 1000 visitors in a month.
- 1:08:44We are doing around 50,000 to 70,000 users right now every
- 1:08:49month. It's changed the entire industry
- 1:08:51and it's really surprised. Some of the big company
- 1:08:54directors, they called me, they asked me.
- 1:08:56I recently served the one of the one of the director is a is a is
- 1:09:02a is a very big company in the UK.
- 1:09:04They do an average of 500 to 600 kitchen in a month.
- 1:09:08And, and for his home, he'd been searching for a stone for almost
- 1:09:133 months and somebody told him and that contract Kumar and he's
- 1:09:21the right person to find the material.
- 1:09:23And he's a such a big guy. If he call any warehouse,
- 1:09:27anybody in the UK will love to serve him.
- 1:09:30But he called us and he asked me, can you help me in this?
- 1:09:34We successfully, we found the material in 24 hours and we
- 1:09:38supplied the material in three days.
- 1:09:41It was an impressive right? He's he'd been searching for
- 1:09:44three months. He couldn't find and he has
- 1:09:48almost every contact, anybody who answers his phone, ready to
- 1:09:52serve him. But.
- 1:09:54He couldn't find and we this is the impact, this is the real
- 1:09:58thing which we have made. That's amazing, honestly.
- 1:10:04It's very amazing to hear how just by solving small, not small
- 1:10:11issues, but taking the responsibility of solving every
- 1:10:16issue as they come, having that allow you to
- 1:10:19evolveandworktops.com. It's as you've said, evolved
- 1:10:23from B to B to AB to C type of platform.
- 1:10:28When you started working with the customer side, what have you
- 1:10:32learned about customer behaviour that surprised you?
- 1:10:37You and now on and off we come across with a lot of architects
- 1:10:40into here it is. And as I work with almost all
- 1:10:42the companies we we work with. The reason I started my project
- 1:10:47dot AI and the reason I started the Dragon customer is you think
- 1:10:53you're doing the best to price for the customer initially and
- 1:10:56you try to do this so much good to the customer and that
- 1:11:01particular customer will create an issue later part of the
- 1:11:06project. That is the what is the biggest
- 1:11:09challenging, I believe in the construction industry.
- 1:11:11You thought this customer is going to be a simple and easy
- 1:11:15customer. So you're you're you're not
- 1:11:17going to have a much hassle and you keep it a low profit margin
- 1:11:22and then you try to sell that particular customer.
- 1:11:24But that particular customers, you end up in spending a lot and
- 1:11:28you end up in doing the lost business rather than the profit
- 1:11:31business. So what I learnt in the industry
- 1:11:35is you have to be open. You have to be open every single
- 1:11:38time. Every single bind is a different
- 1:11:40from another client. You cannot frame, you cannot
- 1:11:44create it when you're serving the B to C, you cannot create a
- 1:11:48framework. You know, this customer is going
- 1:11:51to be like this and they're going to do the way you expect
- 1:11:56you to do it. No, it's, it's, it's a it's a
- 1:11:58very difficult in the construction industry and that's
- 1:12:02why we started the the project called my project or AI, which
- 1:12:06should help the trade find the traders in 10 minutes.
- 1:12:09So we are we are creating a technology both you can profile
- 1:12:15the customer and also you can profile the trader, which means
- 1:12:18like it's, it's the UK is the first two way review system.
- 1:12:22There is there's no review system in the UK that you can
- 1:12:25able to give a review for a customer.
- 1:12:28See, you're, you're you, you may be thinking that, you know, this
- 1:12:32is the Super rich customer and he's going to be really awesome
- 1:12:38to you. Unfortunately, he, he would be
- 1:12:42the person that or she would be the person is not going to pay
- 1:12:45your bill, not ready to pay your bill, but you will be seeing the
- 1:12:52very normal, normal customer and they are so genuine to pay the
- 1:12:58bills all the time. The moment you, you say it's,
- 1:13:01it's the payment. It's this is the job you need to
- 1:13:03do it and you you have to pay for it.
- 1:13:05It's, it's, it's, it's complete. I have seen extreme situations,
- 1:13:1320,000 lbs invoice they keep pending of 2000 or 5000 and you
- 1:13:20have seen a a customer who's paid 2500 or 3000 paid
- 1:13:24genuinely. So it's a both extreme, extreme
- 1:13:28places. You cannot framework the
- 1:13:30customer. So that's why so the software
- 1:13:33which we are developed right now, the Dragon customer, the
- 1:13:37trader can leave the review for a for a customer and customer
- 1:13:42can leave a review which is already there.
- 1:13:44Trustpilot is, is their Google reviews is their UIO is there,
- 1:13:49but there is no review system for a customer.
- 1:13:51So, so we have created that stuff.
- 1:13:54So the next, the next time the customer is also understand that
- 1:13:58they are becoming irresponsible. You're making a real economic
- 1:14:01impact. You understood what I mean.
- 1:14:02Like you, you're, you're making them responsible as well.
- 1:14:06Because if you're, if you're going to do a job in a, in a, in
- 1:14:10a respective house, you need both people to work in the same
- 1:14:13way. Imagine if the customer says I'm
- 1:14:16not going to be here for four hours, you guys need to do the
- 1:14:19job. It's impossible because we need
- 1:14:22an somebody responsible person in the house to, to complete the
- 1:14:27work. And, and if they're not going to
- 1:14:29be there, if they're not going to sign the form or the job
- 1:14:32completion thing, how we can close the job?
- 1:14:36We can't close the job or in case if something is not there,
- 1:14:39if they are asking for them. So we need those things, we need
- 1:14:42the support from the customer, some patterns, sometimes some of
- 1:14:46the designs, something which required to be happening.
- 1:14:48So it's it's it's amazing. Every pain which I have gone
- 1:14:52through, I created that somebody shouldn't go through the same
- 1:14:55pain. And that's how I created every
- 1:14:58single technology. You actually reminded me of the
- 1:15:03difference between booking.com and Airbnb.
- 1:15:05I've actually, you know, done businesses in the, would I say
- 1:15:09shots rentals space, the vacation home space.
- 1:15:12And Airbnb has a system wherein the the host can review the
- 1:15:17guest, the guest can view the host, right?
- 1:15:19And that's why Airbnb is like, you know, more common place when
- 1:15:23you think about vacation rentals, Airbnb comes to your
- 1:15:26mind first before booking.com. While booking.com just the
- 1:15:30customers can review the vendors that is the guest can view the
- 1:15:33host, right? So it creates a very much more
- 1:15:36difficult space because but a lot of customers don't realise
- 1:15:39that customers do have responsibilities.
- 1:15:42They say customers are always right, but that's that's a myth.
- 1:15:45Customers do have responsibilities.
- 1:15:47And I love what you guys have created an environment wherein
- 1:15:49both the customer and the vendor learn to act ethically and
- 1:15:55responsibly. So kudos to you.
- 1:16:00Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:16:02So out of curiosity, when you're making or when you're creating
- 1:16:07this digital marketplace, was it difficult at all to convince
- 1:16:13these more traditional industry players to switch over?
- 1:16:17Or was it kind of a seamless process because they understood
- 1:16:22what was happening? It's it's always there is a
- 1:16:26challenge. We'll be there.
- 1:16:28It's, it's somebody has to do something different because
- 1:16:33it's, it's, it's when I started theworkcops.com, you know, the
- 1:16:39previous versions of a workcops.com, everybody said
- 1:16:43nobody will love to see the material in the online, Nobody
- 1:16:48will take the decisions based on the online.
- 1:16:51But the COVID came and, and we were become very large.
- 1:16:56We were becoming, you know, it's very important because after we
- 1:17:01restarted it, now I believe 60 to 70% of the company now they
- 1:17:05have the what we are doing right now, they have started doing it,
- 1:17:08they copied and they started doing it.
- 1:17:10But nobody was ready to do that. Nobody was ready to accept that
- 1:17:15it's initially takes a yeah, I, it's, it's, it's 100% will be a
- 1:17:20difficulty. People do understand, but once
- 1:17:23they started tasting it, you know, the the thing which is
- 1:17:26really making the good thing. It's it's it's again, it is an
- 1:17:30entrepreneur road, right? It's the entrepreneur sees the
- 1:17:35opportunity and make them to make others to believe that
- 1:17:39opportunity and what he trying to see or what she's trying to
- 1:17:43see. And that's how we rebuild.
- 1:17:46That's how we become best, and you're not going to stop until
- 1:17:52that it's going to happen. 100%, I think that it is just natural
- 1:18:00to the entrepreneur journey to really see something that others
- 1:18:04don't see yet. And it's really just a matter of
- 1:18:09trying to structure the vision in a way that others can digest
- 1:18:13it and believe, believe the big picture that the entrepreneur is
- 1:18:18painting. But when you're working with
- 1:18:20stone Masons and contractors, are there any big mistakes or,
- 1:18:28you know, just hurdles that you've encountered that you want
- 1:18:32to share when trying to when they're trying to scale their
- 1:18:36businesses? Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:18:39So when trying to scale businesses.
- 1:18:41So what are I guess the biggest mistakes that stonemasons and
- 1:18:46contractors make when trying to scale business?
- 1:18:51See, yeah, they don't see the bigger picture, unfortunately
- 1:18:54they don't see the bigger picture of.
- 1:18:56I remember the one of the challenging incident which has
- 1:18:59happened this year and which I never encountered in my in my
- 1:19:03stone industry period. One of the trader who who, who's
- 1:19:08took the job and then he haven't completed job during the period
- 1:19:14he took the job in the month of March and then he haven't
- 1:19:21completed the job. He's supposed to complete the
- 1:19:23job in March, last week, but he haven't completed until July.
- 1:19:28And then we end up in purchasing the same material, reorganising
- 1:19:33the contract with another contractor and we made them to
- 1:19:37do it. You can't believe it, that
- 1:19:40customer that that particular customer who's going to be one
- 1:19:44of the investor in my new project right now and that
- 1:19:48opportunity, that trader missed it.
- 1:19:51The particular customer who we have done the project because
- 1:19:56from the day one, I was keep on giving, you know, giving and
- 1:20:00reply to the customer who paid for us.
- 1:20:03And unfortunately the guy who took the project, he haven't
- 1:20:08been irresponsible. You know, halfway through he
- 1:20:10didn't he was come up with the thousands of a story.
- 1:20:13He's a good Workman. A good workmanship, but
- 1:20:16unfortunately he failed the promises and he couldn't do the
- 1:20:20job. He haven't done the job for four
- 1:20:22months or 4-5 months. And then we hired it, another
- 1:20:27contractor. We spent the money.
- 1:20:28It's, it's, it's a huge loss for me.
- 1:20:31It's OK. But the promise, we've been the
- 1:20:33customer trusted us and we have done the job.
- 1:20:38And that particular customer is become a one of the investor is
- 1:20:42becoming a one of the investor for us you could have imagined.
- 1:20:47If. If that guy who have done the
- 1:20:49job, if he'd done it in the right way, he would have been
- 1:20:54gone lot of other contracts because that guy who is who's
- 1:20:58having a running a hotel is having a very big hotel in, in,
- 1:21:04in the north. And then he have a he's, he's
- 1:21:08doing a complete renovation. He's it's nearly 500 seats table
- 1:21:12and he's doing a complete renovation and that project, we
- 1:21:16are getting it. You could have imagined that,
- 1:21:18you know, they haven't seen the bigger picture.
- 1:21:20The trader hasn't seen the bigger picture.
- 1:21:22They, they thought small. They think about, you know,
- 1:21:26they, they thought, you know, if I'm not going to do this job, if
- 1:21:29I'm going to doing what I'm doing right now, it's not going
- 1:21:32to make a big impact. But he lost a half a million
- 1:21:36business. This is one of the hardest to
- 1:21:41encounter we have done and you know, after that, but it's a
- 1:21:45it's a learning experience. You, you understood what I mean.
- 1:21:47So, and after that we, you know, we made a lot of the systems in
- 1:21:51a in a very good shape right now.
- 1:21:54And and that is one of the reason we signed up with a lot
- 1:21:57of the big players in the UK. Yeah, that's it.
- 1:22:02Adam Molo, what do you think? He actually moved from the Stone
- 1:22:04Age to if I had him thinking he is literally moved from the
- 1:22:08Stone Age to the tech age. Moving.
- 1:22:14Moving from working with still Masons to working with AII.
- 1:22:18Don't know what are you thinking.
- 1:22:21Project AI. See, the AI is, is to be honest.
- 1:22:27It's, it's helping a lot of people to be honest.
- 1:22:30I will say, if we, if we do the technology in a right way, it's
- 1:22:34going to help a lot of people. It's going to make a lot of
- 1:22:37people's job simple easier and unfortunately some people they
- 1:22:42don't understand. Some people understand.
- 1:22:44I see opportunity. That's why I said like I see
- 1:22:47every opportunity, whether that opportunity is going to help us
- 1:22:51do it. It's going to help us to build
- 1:22:53what we are building it. And it's an initial, it's going
- 1:22:56to be a tough, it's going to be a pain taking process, but you
- 1:23:00know, you have to do something you believe and something it's
- 1:23:03going, you believe that something is going to serve of a
- 1:23:05customer better way. So you have to do it for that.
- 1:23:09Wow, so my project AI connects homeowners with certified
- 1:23:14traders across the UK island and across the EU.
- 1:23:18So what artists packed that idea?
- 1:23:20And like, what's the single biggest inefficiency in the
- 1:23:23construction and property management ecosystem today?
- 1:23:28See it is impossible. So I have I have a good mentor
- 1:23:33in the stone industry. I have the 2 great mentors in
- 1:23:36the industry and one of them, one of the person, he will
- 1:23:39always say to me it is impossible to get something
- 1:23:43fast, something cheap, something with the quality.
- 1:23:49It is impossible to get all the three in one place.
- 1:23:52I. Was waiting for the quality.
- 1:23:55Yeah, that made me to think something different.
- 1:23:59Why can't we provide this three together?
- 1:24:04It is impossible if you, if you, if you're, if you're asking
- 1:24:06something fast and something cheap, you can't get the
- 1:24:09quality. If you're asking something
- 1:24:12quality and fast, you can't get it for cheap.
- 1:24:16If you're asking for something for a cheap and the quality, you
- 1:24:21can't get it for fast. OK, I said, OK, let's take this
- 1:24:27challenge. Let's make this possible and
- 1:24:31that's how it's built my project dot AI which you can able to
- 1:24:35find the fast, you can find the trader in 10 minutes.
- 1:24:40That's what we are aiming it for.
- 1:24:42That's what we are working it for and you have to find the
- 1:24:47right trader in that 10 minutes and also the trader make sure
- 1:24:52that he provide the quality of OK.
- 1:24:56So this is what we are trying to do within my project ODAI Cheap.
- 1:25:03Fast and quality so that that's a crazy blend, crazy balance.
- 1:25:10But is that imagine you? Is that achievable?
- 1:25:13But it's a hybrid. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:16See, it is you see, if you need a trailer, imagine that you want
- 1:25:19to do the renovation, you know, in your house.
- 1:25:22Yeah. So you you contact the 10
- 1:25:26builders and you need to get the 10 builders quote by sending a
- 1:25:31different calls, by sending a different emails, by sending
- 1:25:35them different messages and and then you get the code and then
- 1:25:39you'll need to compare the code and you need to go through the
- 1:25:42particular individual builder how they are, what they've gone
- 1:25:46through the previous. So you have to use a different
- 1:25:48different technologies to make all this happen.
- 1:25:52Imagine that everything happens in one single place and which
- 1:25:55you can able to do it in 10 minutes.
- 1:25:57You get a 10 different traders code in one system, you post it
- 1:26:02in one place, you give a job to 1 system and that one system
- 1:26:07will send a notification to all the traders in that industry in
- 1:26:11that area based on your place which they need to serve and
- 1:26:16then with the price. And then you have their profile
- 1:26:18and then you'll have their reviews and you need to decide
- 1:26:22which person and also you have a track of it.
- 1:26:26You know, the software tells you when what happened and this is
- 1:26:32what we are trying. This is what we've been
- 1:26:35developing and we developed right now it's it's in the
- 1:26:37market and people are started using it.
- 1:26:40And imagine how much saves the life, how much it's going to
- 1:26:46make impact in their life. We just deserve the customer who
- 1:26:50was very close to her delivery. You know, she's a pregnant lady
- 1:26:53and she's having a, you know, week week, you know, just a week
- 1:26:58in in the stuff. And we've been doing their
- 1:27:01projects for more than a month right now.
- 1:27:04And always she was afraid to, you know, when this will happen.
- 1:27:08You know, she it's already, she has having a pressure and that
- 1:27:11pressure, we want to take it away.
- 1:27:13Thank you. That pressure she, she shouldn't
- 1:27:16have it. She should enjoy her timings,
- 1:27:19you know, she should enjoy her family timings and she has a two
- 1:27:22kids and the third kid. So imagine that we are taking
- 1:27:27away from them that pressure, we are taking away from the system
- 1:27:31and the system is takes cares of everything what they required.
- 1:27:36So what? What sets you apart from the
- 1:27:39likes of the traditional? What would I say match making
- 1:27:46websites or the trusts are building websites in the
- 1:27:50industry. So for example, check a trade
- 1:27:53trust pilots. What separates you guys from
- 1:27:57these traditional players that the UK ecosystem has been
- 1:28:02accustomed to over the years? See this Check a trade or trust
- 1:28:07pilot or a lot of a lead generation company.
- 1:28:10They generate the leads. They generate the leads and then
- 1:28:14give it to them. But you actually don't know what
- 1:28:18has happened. After the leads.
- 1:28:20Has been passed through to the client or to the real tradesman.
- 1:28:24You need to have the real conversation.
- 1:28:28You need to understand who's doing right or who is doing
- 1:28:31wrong. You know, in some places the
- 1:28:33customer may be right, in some places the traders is right and
- 1:28:36both has to be are accountable for their actions.
- 1:28:39So where is is that space? Where is where is that that
- 1:28:44particular space? It's not there.
- 1:28:47So the my project daughter AI it's it's going to record every
- 1:28:53conversation which they're going to have between the trader and
- 1:28:56the project owner and the home owners, individual project
- 1:29:01owners, and then every conversation is going to be
- 1:29:04there. So, and end of the day, the
- 1:29:07project, when the project gets completed, the AI is going to
- 1:29:11tell them, so this is the way that you started the project on
- 1:29:14this and you did the project on this and you finished the
- 1:29:18project in this. And the next customer who's
- 1:29:21going to do the same project, they know exactly how many days
- 1:29:25it's going to take and they know exactly how this particular
- 1:29:30trader is going to work because the review system is there.
- 1:29:33Pattern for reputation. Yeah.
- 1:29:35So that's the AI will will take the information and generate the
- 1:29:40report and that report will help other customers to understand
- 1:29:46how the project is going to happen.
- 1:29:49And they they're very well prepared because 90% of the
- 1:29:52issue happens in the construction industry is the
- 1:29:54communication, you know, that, that communication, we are
- 1:29:58trying to bring it building in. We are trying to bring it that
- 1:30:01in a, you know, in a perfect way.
- 1:30:04So in A1 single system. And moreover, you want to make
- 1:30:08sure that you're protecting your customers.
- 1:30:09So every even I can't see their conversation, you know, unless
- 1:30:14they are all created, it's completely encrypted.
- 1:30:17Nobody can outside the system can able to see that even even
- 1:30:21the trader, even if he's going to serve individual customer
- 1:30:25their e-mail address and their phone number is still is going
- 1:30:28to be private until they typically going to give it to
- 1:30:31them personally, their phone number and the e-mail address.
- 1:30:34So once the job is done, that's it.
- 1:30:36It's closed. You know, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 1:30:39completely saved. So this is something which we
- 1:30:43always want to do it because most of the customers they don't
- 1:30:46want to get disturbed in their personal e-mail and their
- 1:30:49personal phone numbers. So we are making this in a
- 1:30:52system that and it's it's it's completely private and and
- 1:30:57sometimes it is also happens in the traditional method, the
- 1:31:00people being raised invoiced based on the profile.
- 1:31:04For an example, if you're if you're going to live in 20
- 1:31:09million or two a 5 million property and the kitchen, the
- 1:31:14the moment somebody come and do the same kitchen size of the
- 1:31:18normal house, they're going to quote you double the cost or
- 1:31:24more than you know, they profile the customer based on the
- 1:31:27profile of the customer. They charge more.
- 1:31:29This is not going to happen over here.
- 1:31:31So the customer is going to be safe.
- 1:31:33You know, it's it's not based on the profile, it's based on the
- 1:31:37job. The price is going to be based
- 1:31:39on the job and they're going to they're not going to get one
- 1:31:42proposal. They're going to get the same
- 1:31:44material, the same thing. What you're asking you no need
- 1:31:47to repeat the question and all the questions, whatever the
- 1:31:51trader is asking to you, it's going to become in a common and,
- 1:31:55and, and every single question which you're answering for
- 1:31:58another trader, it's going to be helping the other traders also
- 1:32:02understand what the project is detailed.
- 1:32:06Wow. So if you had to describe my
- 1:32:09project AI's mission in one sentence, what would that
- 1:32:13sentence be? 10 minutes to find and finalise.
- 1:32:17Wow, I like that one that that's a nice punch line. 10 minutes to
- 1:32:22find and finalise. You know, it's interesting the
- 1:32:26life of an entrepreneur, how you have to think outside of the box
- 1:32:31and bring innovative solutions to solve important problems.
- 1:32:36And I think it's really beautiful the role that AI is
- 1:32:40played in this digital age. You know I was making a joke
- 1:32:44earlier stating that you literally wear from the Stone
- 1:32:47Age to the tech age, right? Technology is the best thing
- 1:32:52that has happened to men, and it's also the worst thing that
- 1:32:55has happened to men. You know, It just depends on
- 1:32:58whose hands the technology is. And we've seen the
- 1:33:02transformation of technology over time.
- 1:33:04While we are currently experiencing the AI bubble,
- 1:33:08people have mixed opinions about AI.
- 1:33:11Seems to be like a controversial topic that is highly polarising
- 1:33:15and in nature. So some people are pro AI, some
- 1:33:19people are anti AI. I'd love to take your opinion on
- 1:33:25AI in this age of digital transformation and what do you
- 1:33:30think AI role is going to be for the future of the general
- 1:33:35business landscape? I heard a lot of a podcast here
- 1:33:40related with the AI. I hear the people telling the AI
- 1:33:44is already it's old. There's lot more advanced than
- 1:33:49the AI is going to be happening in the era AI life is going to.
- 1:33:56You know one side of the people they don't even know what is AI
- 1:33:59and another side of the people they're saying that the AI is
- 1:34:03already it's over. It doesn't matter what the
- 1:34:07technology comes human still required.
- 1:34:14End of the day all this technology is there to sell
- 1:34:18human. You cannot replace the human,
- 1:34:24and without the human nothing is there so.
- 1:34:30There's, there's, there's an episode of this broadcast tacked
- 1:34:33humans first, AI next, literally with Mark Andrews from the
- 1:34:37United States. He's the AI group.
- 1:34:39Yeah. You, you, you put it rightly,
- 1:34:41like humans first, AI next. And AI is actually there to be
- 1:34:46be an assistant. And I think it's high time
- 1:34:50everybody embraces AI because if you do not embrace AI, it's like
- 1:34:54a tsunami is going to wash you away.
- 1:34:58So you have to embrace it and follow, go with the flow and be
- 1:35:01a slave to the weak. That's the letter.
- 1:35:03I'll just eat. But like yourself, you see that
- 1:35:05intersection of physical industries and AI
- 1:35:08transformation. So like we actually see the
- 1:35:10biggest opportunities for AI in the construction industry and
- 1:35:15home improvement sector. True, true.
- 1:35:19We can see I can I can see almost every every everybody
- 1:35:25like to head off the head right like it's, it's a, it's a it's
- 1:35:30everyone, everyone want to serve better.
- 1:35:33Everyone want to serve an efficient way and AI is really
- 1:35:38making a big impact, really very big impact.
- 1:35:42I remember that few customers recent days, they started
- 1:35:45telling to us, I found your company in ChatGPT.
- 1:35:49I found your company in cloud AI and I was really surprised how
- 1:35:54did you found of a company in ChatGPT?
- 1:35:57How did you found in a cloud? And they said to me, who is
- 1:36:00having this particular stone? And I searched it and it came
- 1:36:05up, you are the first company that having this particular
- 1:36:09product. And so that's why we are
- 1:36:11contacting. So AI is helping human.
- 1:36:14It's absolutely. There's no second doubt about
- 1:36:17it. There have been three paid
- 1:36:18guests on this broadcast. 3 On this broadcast, who said you
- 1:36:22came strongly recommended by the AI system?
- 1:36:27Yeah. It's interesting.
- 1:36:30Yeah, that's alluding to your point.
- 1:36:34Yeah. So, so it is, is it is it is
- 1:36:37making a really big impact. It made big impact in our in our
- 1:36:41business and we are still trying to use in a better way a major
- 1:36:46search artificial intelligence. We are, we want to build our own
- 1:36:51mission learning system and, and we are working on it and
- 1:36:56definitely we'll be working on it, yeah.
- 1:37:00Wow, so a lot of people always say, oh, AI is coming to take
- 1:37:04out jobs. AI is taking away jobs.
- 1:37:07And you know, I am AII didn't like see that.
- 1:37:11But you know, I just make the joke that I'm not coming for
- 1:37:14your jobs. I'm only coming to assist you
- 1:37:17with your jobs. And we've had the VP of Money
- 1:37:242020, Zach Pettit, that's VP global fintech strategy.
- 1:37:29It's a very big FSS of AI and you know our money, $0.20 a
- 1:37:33year, I think those last year, yeah, I think the one in
- 1:37:36Amsterdam, they had the one in Las Vegas in October.
- 1:37:41So he said AI is not coming for your jobs, right?
- 1:37:45Your job is going to be taking part that person that knows how
- 1:37:47to use AI. But I'm going to put you on the
- 1:37:51spot here. Do you believe AI will create
- 1:37:53more jobs or replace them in the industries that?
- 1:37:56You serve see the technology always going to remove some of
- 1:38:04the people from the employment. It is definitely yes, because
- 1:38:08when when there was a time we have to send everything manually
- 1:38:13or do everything manually, there were a lot of the people who
- 1:38:16were working. And when e-mail came, it's
- 1:38:20reduced the numbers and when when telephone came, when mobile
- 1:38:24phone came from telephone because to be used to physically
- 1:38:27connect one connection to another connection.
- 1:38:29So when the mobile came, the technology always it's going to
- 1:38:34revolve by its own, the human, the people who want to survive,
- 1:38:43they're going to learn every single new technology.
- 1:38:47It's end of the day. And some people, of course, yes,
- 1:38:49some people will lose the jobs and there is no thought about it
- 1:38:55because I used to have an secretary, she writes most of my
- 1:39:02things, which I required. But now I have AAI assistant
- 1:39:09before I even read the e-mail, it's already prepared a reply
- 1:39:12for me. You know, it's, it's what are
- 1:39:15the e-mail I get it's, it's already prepares my e-mail
- 1:39:19reply. And all I need to do it is I
- 1:39:21need to, it doesn't mean that I can send that blindly.
- 1:39:24I have to read it and still it's going to, as a human, we need to
- 1:39:28do what we need to do and I have to do the modification according
- 1:39:32to the requirement and then I send stuff.
- 1:39:36But of course I don't need to think right now.
- 1:39:38I can be more efficient. And that's how it's going to
- 1:39:44happen in the construction industry or some of the colours
- 1:39:46choosing or sometimes there is a there is this image scanner
- 1:39:51which came in the stone industry, the slab, it scans the
- 1:39:54slab and exactly tell the colour what does the actual colour is
- 1:39:58there in that particular material which human can't do
- 1:40:01it. Yeah.
- 1:40:04So the technology always going to play the major role.
- 1:40:07It gives the best that's the purpose of the technology.
- 1:40:10And it's our responsible that we need to make sure that we are
- 1:40:15using the technology and we using that As for a growth
- 1:40:18purpose. And we also learn about the
- 1:40:21technology we need to learn, because if I say, you know how,
- 1:40:23how the Nokia said. You know, they're not going to
- 1:40:26evolve themselves for the touchscreen.
- 1:40:29When, when the when, when a company gave an opportunity to
- 1:40:34update the technology, they said no, they're not going to.
- 1:40:37If they're not going to update, then they're not going to be in
- 1:40:40the industry. Now the Nokia No one.
- 1:40:45Wow. You understood what I mean.
- 1:40:48Man, Nokia, I remember the days of using Nokia.
- 1:40:51It was crazy. We had really strong phones.
- 1:40:53We really strong back to life yeah Remember Nokia 3310?
- 1:40:58Very very strong. No, even BlackBerry as well, you
- 1:41:03know, crazy. Yes, they refused to evolve as
- 1:41:05well. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:41:07If you don't. Evolve you would You would die.
- 1:41:09You fear the way. Exactly.
- 1:41:11Exactly. So like how do you think a small
- 1:41:16businesses should have put AI when they feel overwhelmed?
- 1:41:21See, it's every business have the opportunity to grow.
- 1:41:25You know, there is always there is a room to grow.
- 1:41:29Always there is a room to grow. You hire a person, right.
- 1:41:32It's it's not see nowadays you no need to hire somebody for a
- 1:41:37full time for anything. You have a lot of a freelancers
- 1:41:40recent days and you have a lot of the people to do what we
- 1:41:44require to do it now, because it's not like in in those days,
- 1:41:49you need to wait for a one person to come and fix that
- 1:41:52issue. No, it's no more if you're not
- 1:41:56there. If that person is not there, you
- 1:41:58have another person, you have another person, you have another
- 1:42:01person. It's a very competitive world.
- 1:42:03That's how the small business required.
- 1:42:05They just need to find the opportunity and, and do if they,
- 1:42:09if they're required that they need to hire somebody to modify
- 1:42:13the system, they have to hire because they no need to hire for
- 1:42:16a full time. They can hire for three months
- 1:42:19or six months or 12 months. And they can put the system in
- 1:42:22place and, and just doing it. It is, it is as a small company,
- 1:42:29as a small business, it is your responsible to do what you're
- 1:42:32required to do with you. If you think you want to, to
- 1:42:36serve more to make a business better and you have to do it.
- 1:42:40You can't say, oh, no, even if I'm not going to do it still I'm
- 1:42:44going to going to get my customers.
- 1:42:45No, it's not going to happen, No.
- 1:42:48Yeah. You know, customers are support
- 1:42:51for options in division time. Plus, you know, we need to
- 1:42:56reduce the time span between idea and execution and that's
- 1:43:04something that AI actually helps us to achieve.
- 1:43:07So what is the next big shift that you foresee in the
- 1:43:11marketplace platforms more foreseeable future?
- 1:43:16I believe instead of a human finding the answer and the next
- 1:43:20big shift, I believe the agents is going to find the answer for
- 1:43:24another agent. Imagine I will be having AAI
- 1:43:27agent and my customer is also going to have AAI agent and
- 1:43:32they're going to talk each other to provide the service which I
- 1:43:35need to provide the service. It's going to happen.
- 1:43:38That is happening already. That is update already.
- 1:43:41Like I said, it has happened in in my own business as well,
- 1:43:44like, you know, yeah, agents and of course some perspective
- 1:43:51guests how their AI agents are dead.
- 1:43:53It was a conversation between the AI agents that are like, OK,
- 1:43:55OK, interested. And it's crazy, you know, like a
- 1:43:59year ago, I used to have a human assistant and I've had podcast
- 1:44:03episodes where my assistant is communicating to the assistant,
- 1:44:07you know, the CEO guest. But now it's crazy how it's AI
- 1:44:12assistants that are chatting to AI assistants before you have
- 1:44:16that human a would I say in human interaction to pick up the
- 1:44:21high level of details sure is wild.
- 1:44:25So, but but a lot of people are concerned about the integrity of
- 1:44:29the communication details, right, Especially with, you
- 1:44:35know, maybe things like GDPR, for example, data protection is
- 1:44:39a very big issue. And there have been a lot of,
- 1:44:44you know, cases, even some known cases in the litigation space
- 1:44:53about data not being protected about on ethical use of, you
- 1:44:58know, people's private data that is meant to be protected by AI
- 1:45:04tools, by the SAS tools. So what are the implications?
- 1:45:09And like, what do you think? Where do you think the line
- 1:45:12should be drawn? Because we've had a really full
- 1:45:15blown case right on this forecast, but I want you to take
- 1:45:22your thoughts on the issue of data protection when it comes to
- 1:45:26the use of AI. See it is a responsible for
- 1:45:29every AI developer to save the GDPA policy, to make sure that
- 1:45:33they are under the GDPA policy and and to protect our
- 1:45:39customers, to protect our clients.
- 1:45:41It is our responsible and the customers is trusting us and
- 1:45:45they're coming to us, they sharing their information.
- 1:45:47So it is our responsible to make sure that we are doing it.
- 1:45:50So we have we have a system. That's why I said to you when I,
- 1:45:54when we developed the whole technologies encrypted, you
- 1:45:58know, it's, it's impossible even for myself to see something if I
- 1:46:05want to see in our, in our system on this, the client has
- 1:46:13under the client giving the permission to us.
- 1:46:15So that's the way we are. We are trying to develop those
- 1:46:19technology and, and still there's a long way, there's a
- 1:46:24process, but still, you know, we are focusing on that and we have
- 1:46:30an option for every single client in our, our system.
- 1:46:34They can keep themselves as a private or a public like the way
- 1:46:37which they can able. To have it in other social
- 1:46:40medias and other stuff. So they can keep it themselves
- 1:46:43as a private or they can keep it as a public.
- 1:46:47Even if it is a public, which doesn't mean that they can the
- 1:46:50others can able to see either contact details.
- 1:46:53Even they're the people they are dealing with, they can't even
- 1:46:56see the contact. Details So it is responsible for
- 1:47:00every company to to to protect their customer data, which I
- 1:47:05believe. Most of the people are doing it
- 1:47:08and and I very, very few companies, but I don't, I
- 1:47:12haven't seen anybody in my in my time who are in AI, which is
- 1:47:18everything is open source now. It's it's open for everybody
- 1:47:22now. I haven't seen it.
- 1:47:24OK, so we, we've had issues in which AI systems, right, collect
- 1:47:31the data, right, Yeah, it's protected from external parties.
- 1:47:34But so Ron, unauthorised research programmes on customer
- 1:47:44behaviour, on consumer behaviour, right, with the
- 1:47:48patterns of the users. So there was a lady on this
- 1:47:53broadcaster a couple of months ago, her name is Rose G Loops.
- 1:47:59She's written a group on the ethical framework of AI and
- 1:48:04earlier this year, that is earlier 2025 around June, I
- 1:48:07think, if my memory says me correctly, this was around June
- 1:48:1110. There was a ChatGPT outage about
- 1:48:15around for about 9-10 hours. I don't know if you can
- 1:48:19recollect in June this year, there was a ChatGPT outage that
- 1:48:23ran for a couple of hours. And she actually was involved in
- 1:48:31a deep research that was conducted in order to, would I
- 1:48:37say, upgrade some of the systems.
- 1:48:39And this ChatGPT model was having like full on
- 1:48:43conversations ANYWAYS that were recorded and everything.
- 1:48:46But she claims to have had like some sort of emotional trauma
- 1:48:52from the situation. And it's funny how I have met
- 1:48:58some other people who have similar claims as well in the
- 1:49:02Internet space, where, where do we draw the line between getting
- 1:49:10people's data? Because it's very, very
- 1:49:11sensitive. You the kind of things that
- 1:49:14people actually put or discuss with church GPT is outrageous.
- 1:49:21So if you had the back end of church GPT, you could literally
- 1:49:26see the lives or probably literally the nakedness of a lot
- 1:49:32of people. And they are in a position where
- 1:49:37they have highly sensitive information about people.
- 1:49:40And it all depends on what you want to use it to do.
- 1:49:43But there are people that have claimed that they have been
- 1:49:47subject of research work that they did not sign up for.
- 1:49:52So it shows like using human beings like a lab rat.
- 1:49:56I've had to make a scientific discovery from scientific
- 1:50:00research. So where do we try out the line
- 1:50:02Days of you? See, it doesn't when you're I
- 1:50:08believe, I believe the AI at this moment.
- 1:50:11What we ChatGPT you're talking about?
- 1:50:13I also use it. Yeah, I also use the ChatGPT.
- 1:50:16I use other technologies of AI. I I fixed, I set up my system.
- 1:50:24Yeah, I made it's, it's again, it's private and public.
- 1:50:28I made the system. Whatever I'm discussing it,
- 1:50:32whatever I'm asking for it, it is one that's going to for me
- 1:50:36and it's not going to be and I don't want to.
- 1:50:39Share any of my data to in public domain and which I made
- 1:50:45when we are using the system which we made a few I, I, I, I.
- 1:50:52You know, going to the privacy system settings and doing the
- 1:50:56privacy personal, all this kind of a stuff, as long as you
- 1:51:00you're going to do what you're doing it because see, you can't
- 1:51:04hide anything in this world. That's the true fact.
- 1:51:08You can't run, boy. You can't hide.
- 1:51:10You can't hide anything because if you're using a.
- 1:51:12Technology in one and another way it's, it's, it's, it's going
- 1:51:17to be, it's going to be and you can't say, you know, I'm using,
- 1:51:24I ask certain things which I shouldn't ask in a, in a public
- 1:51:29place or in a public thing then so, so you have to be
- 1:51:34responsible in using your technology.
- 1:51:37You have to be a responsible. You can't be a blind, blind
- 1:51:40person and unfortunately everything needs to be recorded,
- 1:51:45everything needs to be monitored.
- 1:51:46According to the government, when they are running what they
- 1:51:49need to run to protect the country, to protect the people,
- 1:51:52to protect the nation. So it is going to be happening.
- 1:51:56Anything which you searched in online, anything you ask in
- 1:51:59online, it is going to be in a public stuff.
- 1:52:03There is a certain level, it's not going to be there, it's not
- 1:52:06going to be watched, it's not going to be visualised in a
- 1:52:10certain level, in a certain things.
- 1:52:12Of course the government is going to have an axis.
- 1:52:15Of course you know that is that is there that we have to do it.
- 1:52:21So people need to be more aware about privacy settings in order
- 1:52:26to like protect that data as well.
- 1:52:29Because like I said earlier, customers do have
- 1:52:32responsibilities as well. But it's essential that service
- 1:52:37providers do not exploit customers that are not well
- 1:52:42informed as well. But we have the responsibility
- 1:52:45of keeping informed as ignorance is actually not admissible in
- 1:52:52the face of law. True as well, right?
- 1:52:55True. But AI now, like do you, do you
- 1:53:02see any major changes happening in the global economy as a
- 1:53:10result of the adoption of AI? See, I, I, I'm see I'm more
- 1:53:16focused and be honest with you, I'm more focused on what we are
- 1:53:21developing right now comparing the what you're.
- 1:53:27Asking about, I'm more focused on what the solution which I can
- 1:53:30able to provide. I am more focused on what I can
- 1:53:35able to provide for our customer.
- 1:53:37I believe that question which you're asking it's too early for
- 1:53:40me to say. You're not.
- 1:53:43The future is. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:46So, so I'm, I'm, you know, we are, I'm, I'm just, I'm trying
- 1:53:50to see what best. I can able to provide for our
- 1:53:54customer, that's what I'm. Just I love that, I love that,
- 1:53:57you know, that passion for positive impact, you know,
- 1:54:01especially in your industry, it's really amazing.
- 1:54:05And you know, when you're passionate about something, you
- 1:54:09will, you have no choice but to do well in it.
- 1:54:12I remember the CEO of Keeper. Keeper is a company in
- 1:54:16Netherlands, but they actually engaged us to interview their
- 1:54:22CEO and their CFO has been on the show and their CEO, like I
- 1:54:25should be on the show maybe next week or something.
- 1:54:29What they do is office automation.
- 1:54:31They automate office spaces, right?
- 1:54:34And he spoke about how if he's not passionate about what he
- 1:54:40does any longer, he's just gonna fit it.
- 1:54:45So he's just growing acquitted. Of course, when you're so
- 1:54:49passionate about delivering value during solutions, that
- 1:54:54drive will be there to succeed. You know that, that's something
- 1:54:58I appreciate about you as well. You know, you're so committed to
- 1:55:02a solution provision for your industry, right?
- 1:55:08Trent, you are now that important line that is
- 1:55:13connecting the dots because in this in this age and time,
- 1:55:17basically you need to connect the dots between idea and
- 1:55:21execution. You need to connect the dots
- 1:55:24between the business and the customer.
- 1:55:27True, right. That B to C and I studied
- 1:55:32economics. I remember what the whole, you
- 1:55:35know, the is it the channels of production, you know, wherein
- 1:55:39you have a producer, right? I think they, they broke it down
- 1:55:44from producer to wholesaler, from wholesaler to retailer,
- 1:55:48then from retailer to consumer. So how about take out those
- 1:55:52middle men, right and just connect the producer to the
- 1:55:56consumer? See, in some places yes it is
- 1:56:04possible to connect producer to consumer.
- 1:56:09In some places it is impossible just because imagine the
- 1:56:15construction industry, the stone manufacturer and the quarry
- 1:56:19owner. He's not going to.
- 1:56:20He can't provide the stone without distributor or without
- 1:56:26the person to cut it. Because you need a person, you
- 1:56:30need a people in in between. But for an example, if you're
- 1:56:34talking about the vegetable, because it's a consumption
- 1:56:36directly can happen. The raw consumption can can be
- 1:56:40done, but still they have a certain limits.
- 1:56:44You know there is a certain area there, they have a boundary and
- 1:56:47they can't do it beyond the boundary.
- 1:56:50So obviously you need a somebody in a space in between the
- 1:56:54production and the conception. So you definitely need it.
- 1:56:59But yes, some places you're not required, some places you can.
- 1:57:04You have to, yeah. So, so exactly right, you are
- 1:57:08that line that is coming from the producer to the consumer and
- 1:57:13from the consumer to the producer, right.
- 1:57:15So we need speed between the two.
- 1:57:22Yeah, we see the process and that's where you guys come in.
- 1:57:25You guys are like a catalyst. Exactly.
- 1:57:28So this is where we want to make sure we are providing all the
- 1:57:32possible ways to make the things faster.
- 1:57:35Because what happened is it's, it's a current era like the
- 1:57:39people who are have a capacity to spend more, they are able to
- 1:57:44spend the money on more to get what they require.
- 1:57:48But the small companies, that's why the my project dot AI we
- 1:57:51developed, it's not based on that advertisement.
- 1:57:54It is based on the quality the, the service which they're going
- 1:57:59to provide. And it is not based on the
- 1:58:02service. It is not based on the
- 1:58:04advertisement because everyone, every members who is going to be
- 1:58:08using the My Project DFI, they're going to have a standard
- 1:58:12membership fee. It's not going to be happening
- 1:58:15like a just because you're going to pay extra, you're going to
- 1:58:18have you're going to come talk. No, it's the we're developing
- 1:58:22the technology that everybody will get the leads, every single
- 1:58:26of them and then they can able to make use of it.
- 1:58:31So interesting. It's really, really wonderful
- 1:58:37scene when I say the impact that you guys are making.
- 1:58:45Impact is the, I think impact is the right word.
- 1:58:48Like you guys are able to bring satisfaction.
- 1:58:51Satisfaction is something that has shown itself in your body of
- 1:58:57work, even right from your youthful age right until now.
- 1:59:03What you're doing, you're always ensuring that consumers are
- 1:59:08satisfied, but not only consumers are satisfied.
- 1:59:11Producers also have to be satisfied.
- 1:59:14So you you need to you need to put more respect on your on your
- 1:59:17own name. You're welcome.
- 1:59:20You know, speaking about that personal and family violence.
- 1:59:23It's how do you balance this, this life man, the first you are
- 1:59:2824/7 on the grand. I tell people that if your ship
- 1:59:31is 24/7, then 9 to 5 is 9:00 to 5:00.
- 1:59:35So you need to know what you're committing to if you want to a
- 1:59:39nine to five or you want a 24/7, right?
- 1:59:44It's a, it's a, it's a calling, right?
- 1:59:48See, nowadays the generation is completely different and the
- 1:59:52past generation is different when my parents work.
- 2:00:00And they used to work from the morning 8:00 until evening 7:00
- 2:00:05or 6:30 or 7:00. So we used to have, you know,
- 2:00:10that kind of life. But now the life is different.
- 2:00:14The entrepreneurship is completely different.
- 2:00:17You know, if you want to run a business, you, you, your mind
- 2:00:21physically, you know, you're 24 hours, you work as an
- 2:00:25entrepreneur or you work, you know, you're trying to find an
- 2:00:30answer. But we need to create a system.
- 2:00:34Of course, we need to create the system in place to make sure to
- 2:00:38have the decent family life. As I said to you earlier, that
- 2:00:42is one of the reason maybe I couldn't have what I supposed to
- 2:00:46have, but I learned it. And now I'm, I'm, I'm learning a
- 2:00:51lot of things. Sometimes you learn later part
- 2:00:54of the life. Definitely you need to plan for
- 2:00:57your family. Of course, your end of the day,
- 2:01:01though, we, we say that we have a calling.
- 2:01:04We have to do what we need to do it.
- 2:01:06Of course you need to spend as long as you have a wonderful
- 2:01:10understanding partner who can, because you can't have a few
- 2:01:15people doing business together that you can't.
- 2:01:19It's not a easy stuff. And you're especially doing a
- 2:01:22business. It's it's you need a team.
- 2:01:24You need a definitely need a team.
- 2:01:28You definitely need a team to do something.
- 2:01:30What you're talking about the business world, entrepreneur
- 2:01:33world, you definitely need a good partner to make sure that
- 2:01:37you're driving it. And I have a I'm really blessed
- 2:01:42to have a wonderful team right now who's who's doing what
- 2:01:47they're doing it and who's taking care of their jobs.
- 2:01:52You know, sometimes I can't sit in the office.
- 2:01:55I continuously travel and, and those are the times and they run
- 2:02:00the show on behalf of me, especially, you know, when I,
- 2:02:05when I had a very tough time in my life, you know, I really
- 2:02:09thankful for my team. I wouldn't be surviving it, you
- 2:02:12know, if the if the team is not there.
- 2:02:14I had a very small team then in 2020.
- 2:02:18Three, it was a rough pace of. My Life and 2023-2024 it's
- 2:02:23really, really rough face, rough face of my life.
- 2:02:26I, I, I can't even imagine, you know, you, you, you need
- 2:02:33somebody to you. You don't even think right.
- 2:02:38You already you've failed a lot and your, your partner left.
- 2:02:44Your kids are not with you and you're staying in the same house
- 2:02:50which you've been living as a family for almost ages and then
- 2:02:55all of a sudden you don't have anything.
- 2:02:58It's I I used to hate to go to my bedroom between I don't I
- 2:03:09don't like to go to my bedroom at all.
- 2:03:11I don't, I hate, I love Saturday and Sunday.
- 2:03:14But in 2023-2024 I hate Saturday, Sunday, I don't want
- 2:03:20to be. I don't want Saturday and
- 2:03:22Sunday. I thought like, you know, I
- 2:03:24don't want to have a Saturday and Sunday.
- 2:03:26I hate going to my bedroom. I hate sleeping.
- 2:03:30Sleeping at all, you know, I don't want to sleep, you know,
- 2:03:33if I sleep so many things. It's a big struggle, but the
- 2:03:38team. I'm really God.
- 2:03:40I'm really thankful to the God. I'm really blessed.
- 2:03:43Wonderful team during my absence, even though I was not
- 2:03:47physically present most of the time they ran the show.
- 2:03:51In fact, they've. Grown the business.
- 2:03:53During those period they successfully ran the whole
- 2:03:58organisation. I really thankful for the team,
- 2:04:01you know, the, my team, my Mayans, we call us Mayans.
- 2:04:05The people who are working in a my project today.
- 2:04:07I we call them as a It's the company my it's just the first
- 2:04:12letter of. Mai.
- 2:04:15Yeah, that's how the my has Mai. So my and working in the my we
- 2:04:22call them as a Mayans. That's that's a great demonym.
- 2:04:26That's interesting how every every entrepreneur goes through
- 2:04:33both patches. They say tough time zone last,
- 2:04:36but tough people too. God reserves his toughest
- 2:04:38battles for his toughest soldiers.
- 2:04:40And this is one of the reasons why I'm really, really proud of
- 2:04:45the fact that this podcast, you know, which is my body of work
- 2:04:51is actually endorsed and supported, you know, by big
- 2:04:56partnership with Better help. You know, Better Help is the
- 2:04:59world's leading online therapy tool.
- 2:05:03You know, I love for you to speak to the essence and the
- 2:05:09importance of therapy, especially for founders and
- 2:05:13entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship can be really,
- 2:05:17really tough and. Lonely Joining?
- 2:05:19Sometimes so mental health is actually very, very important,
- 2:05:23right? So I love for you to speak to
- 2:05:27that importance of taking care of your mental health and the
- 2:05:30resourcefulness of resources and tools like Better Help.
- 2:05:36See, I first of all, I I'd really thankful the whoever
- 2:05:41that's the technology, whoever has found the better help.
- 2:05:46I really like to say thank you because I believe I've been, I,
- 2:05:55I resisted myself because I don't know I, I, I, I don't know
- 2:06:00anything apart from the family. I works 16 hours, 15 hours, 16
- 2:06:06hours, 12 hours. You know, I work, I, I work a
- 2:06:11lot. And then all of sudden you, I
- 2:06:15don't know anything apart from the business.
- 2:06:16Apart from the family. Only two you ask me anything out
- 2:06:20of this question out of this 22 areas I will say I don't know,
- 2:06:25but if the better held, I don't know where to start.
- 2:06:29You know of whom to talk. You know, especially it's not
- 2:06:33most of the time always the entrepreneur journey is a lonely
- 2:06:36journey. If you don't have right mindset
- 2:06:40of a people, you don't have a friends who can understand you.
- 2:06:44It is it is even friends, they can't understand what you're
- 2:06:48talking about because the business life is completely,
- 2:06:51completely different and the better held.
- 2:06:54It really helped me in 2023 come back to the life which I'm in
- 2:06:59right now. I do remember somebody who's
- 2:07:01from Ireland, when I said I don't want to live right now, I
- 2:07:05thought of, you know, what is the purpose of I'm going to
- 2:07:09live? I'm not going to live anymore
- 2:07:12and I'm going to kill myself. And I remember the woman who
- 2:07:17asked me the question, OK, what's going to happen?
- 2:07:20You died, so who's going to take care of your your kids and who
- 2:07:28will be taking care? Is that you think that your son,
- 2:07:32your daughter will get everything what they want just
- 2:07:35because you died? No certain questions which they
- 2:07:39asked me, you know, that's made a real impact in my life.
- 2:07:44If the better health is not there, I wouldn't be, you know,
- 2:07:47knowing where to ask because we can't, we can't call.
- 2:07:50There is a issue when you don't want to call the NHS.
- 2:07:54You tell them that you're going to commit suicide or you're
- 2:07:58going to, or you don't know what to do, or you know you're not
- 2:08:02and doctors going to sit on your NHS history for 7-8 years and so
- 2:08:08you don't. Take them a long time to pick
- 2:08:10up. Exactly.
- 2:08:12And and and you don't want to do it because of that.
- 2:08:15I haven't got the insurance being you know, at one stage I
- 2:08:18was too much of A depression and too much of A thoughts process.
- 2:08:23Then I told the NHS and because of that my insurance got
- 2:08:26cancelled. My life insurance got cancelled.
- 2:08:29You know, like they said, I can't have an insurance.
- 2:08:32So better hell, it really helped me really those sessions has
- 2:08:37really helped me. It helped me to think in a
- 2:08:40different aspects and you know, different things in my life.
- 2:08:44You need somebody non judgmental.
- 2:08:46You need somebody who you think that you don't you know they
- 2:08:50don't know you and you can be a freak in talking.
- 2:08:53What do you want to talk? And and of course, see, this is
- 2:08:57one of the impression, you know, we the guy who developed with
- 2:09:01this technology, maybe he developed, you know, with this
- 2:09:05vision and he don't even know me, but he got the benefit out.
- 2:09:09I got the benefit out of that technology.
- 2:09:11It's a it's a, it's a every entrepreneur, every entrepreneur
- 2:09:15required a good friends. Every entrepreneur required a
- 2:09:20good network of a people, especially same mind, you know,
- 2:09:26the same strength. Of course, now I have talking to
- 2:09:31a lot of people, you know, still, of course it's there.
- 2:09:34I have a long way to go, but it is important.
- 2:09:40It is most important thing. You're not alone.
- 2:09:43The entrepreneurs is not alone or they're not.
- 2:09:46It's not going to happen doing alone.
- 2:09:48No, no, we have a lot of facilities.
- 2:09:50No one you know the better health is one of the technology
- 2:09:53or we have a lot of other networking events nor of shows
- 2:09:58happening. We can go, we can talk to the
- 2:10:01people, same minded people, who knows you talk to 100 people out
- 2:10:05of 100 people, five people will be having a same mindset of what
- 2:10:09you have and they will be sharing your knowledge.
- 2:10:12The good entrepreneurs the love to share their experience.
- 2:10:15The good entrepreneurs love to. Support another entrepreneur?
- 2:10:19Yeah. So, so I seen a lot of people,
- 2:10:23you know, telling me what to do, what not to do.
- 2:10:26And I did the same thing for a lot of other people.
- 2:10:29You know, there is one, one of my secretary who been working
- 2:10:34for me now she started the business.
- 2:10:36I'm very happy. I'm very proud of it, you know,
- 2:10:39and we, we exchange ideas even now she, she left the
- 2:10:43organisation. But still, even though we are,
- 2:10:46we are happy in having a good communication.
- 2:10:49She's running a business, I'm running a business and she gives
- 2:10:52some different thought process and I I give a different thought
- 2:10:55process to her. That's how the business works.
- 2:10:57Do you understand what I mean? So.
- 2:10:59Successful people are not gatekeepers.
- 2:11:02Exactly. They are not gatekeepers.
- 2:11:04They are not gatekeepers. They help you to grow.
- 2:11:07They they are ladders. You know they they are going to
- 2:11:11operate like a ladder and you also do the same.
- 2:11:13You helped others and they will help you.
- 2:11:16That's how the growth happens. Interesting, so you support
- 2:11:21families you know and still meetings across the UK.
- 2:11:26Why is community so important to you?
- 2:11:31It is really important that's that's the one of the reason I
- 2:11:35have started the SAP Foundation. It is, it is a community based
- 2:11:39project like we are doing with the the initiative of this
- 2:11:43project like. Sometimes you don't know where
- 2:11:47to talk. Whom to talk, whom to talk and
- 2:11:51what to talk and the SAP Foundation, that's how it's
- 2:11:55started. So it's for the people who are
- 2:11:59going through their situation which they don't know where to
- 2:12:02have a communication. We are creating a number, it's a
- 2:12:07toll free number, We want to do it and through the toll free
- 2:12:11number and they can talk to the councillors, they can share
- 2:12:15their family things which they're going through and and we
- 2:12:20want to do that, We want to. Access that for.
- 2:12:23Every because in abroad in India only people who have the
- 2:12:29financial capacity they can able to talk to another people.
- 2:12:33But. Here.
- 2:12:36So I thought, OK, let's start building it, you know, let's,
- 2:12:40let's build something even for the normal people, you know,
- 2:12:44they, they have to share, they have someone has to tell them
- 2:12:47right, that you are wrong, that you are right.
- 2:12:50Counselling is one of the key thing.
- 2:12:52So which we are building it up? That is fantastic.
- 2:12:55That is really good to know. I think the the final question
- 2:13:00before I put you through the quick fire round is what would
- 2:13:04you know of your legacy to be? Sorry, can you repeat?
- 2:13:09I said the final question before putting you through the quick
- 2:13:12fire round is what would you love your legacy to be?
- 2:13:18We want to touch millions of families, we want to touch
- 2:13:21millions of families across the globe, and that's what I want to
- 2:13:27build. Absolutely amazing.
- 2:13:31So I'm going to take you through the Pacific wing of fire, but I
- 2:13:35have more. Are you ready to rumble?
- 2:13:41Of course, of course. OK, OK, OK, let's do this five
- 2:13:45to five out questions. So number one, what is 1 mindset
- 2:13:48you believe every entrepreneur must master?
- 2:13:52No pain, no gain. Not that what is 1 Failure that
- 2:13:57became a blessing for you. My life, personal life, it's
- 2:14:04made me to run because I thought I can't, you know, I can't do
- 2:14:08it. A lot of the things I, I thought
- 2:14:10like I can't do it, which I'm doing it right now.
- 2:14:14A lot of things which I'm doing it right now with the God's
- 2:14:17grace and, and I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing right now.
- 2:14:25We've grown nearly 700 to 800% in the last three years and
- 2:14:31which is it's a massive, massive increase.
- 2:14:34We were in 2022. I was I was having a less than
- 2:14:404000 or 5000 visitors users and now we are you're 50,000 to
- 2:14:4670,000 users. Imagine from where to where we
- 2:14:51are right now. So it's always something hard is
- 2:14:56happening in our life. It is happening with the
- 2:14:58purpose, the God doing with the purpose.
- 2:15:03If something is going in your life out, it's OK because the
- 2:15:09God doing with the purpose. So I wouldn't be doing what I'm
- 2:15:14doing right now if that is not going to happen.
- 2:15:18So what is one book that changed your life thinking forever?
- 2:15:24Bible. I knew you were going to see the
- 2:15:27Bible. Outside of the Bible, what other
- 2:15:30books did you see? I read a.
- 2:15:35Lot of novels and a lot of motivational stories and
- 2:15:38manifesting is the second important thing which I you
- 2:15:42know, and I read everything related with the management
- 2:15:50books, other stuff. I don't stick on to.
- 2:15:54One single book, because if you can see.
- 2:15:58You know. It's it's I love to read the
- 2:16:02topics and the detail of that particular book, Maximum Impact,
- 2:16:08which is doing in our life. I'll give you a solid
- 2:16:11recommendation. So for the management books,
- 2:16:14check this one out Exponential Organisations.
- 2:16:18Exponential organisation. OK.
- 2:16:21Yeah, it's a book by Sally Ismail, Exponential
- 2:16:26Organisations. I think I might still have two
- 2:16:28copies. If I still have two copies, I
- 2:16:30might meet you one. Yeah.
- 2:16:33It's it's it's a it's a solid beat.
- 2:16:36Wow. So what is one thing you we
- 2:16:39should learn 10 years earlier? Coding, coding.
- 2:16:44I haven't completed a proper degree.
- 2:16:46I did everything in the correspondence.
- 2:16:48I did the schooling. As I said to you earlier, I I
- 2:16:51did the schooling only. I study whatever I was there in
- 2:16:54the school. I haven't had a time to sit and
- 2:16:57study later and I was working more and even now I always think
- 2:17:03about I should have learned coding I would have been
- 2:17:05creating a lot more better solution.
- 2:17:08These days they're shortcuts, shortcuts to me, right?
- 2:17:10Even myself, I didn't really learn much coding, but like, I'm
- 2:17:15glad for the EI tools that assist me to bypass like the
- 2:17:20levels of coding that I did not learn by myself.
- 2:17:24So it's amazing. It's amazing.
- 2:17:27Just need to be able to, you know, conceive it and like use
- 2:17:30your limited knowledge. And of course, you know, guys
- 2:17:34out there these days that know how to code with the programmers
- 2:17:37that you can always hire DevOps at, you know, highly affordable
- 2:17:41rates as well. So it's the technology has made
- 2:17:45the world easier. So OK the last thing is what is
- 2:17:491 message you would want to use for every person these name in
- 2:17:53IT plus countries? Don't give up someone someone's
- 2:18:01opinion doesn't have. To be your reality, don't give
- 2:18:06up I'm. Not that it's OK.
- 2:18:08No one is. It's, it's OK, you're doing it.
- 2:18:11You did a lot of mistakes. We do a lot of mistakes in our
- 2:18:16life. It's OK.
- 2:18:17It's OK. You still have the opportunity
- 2:18:19to put everything right. If you are living, if you have a
- 2:18:24breathe until last day, you can do every single step to put the
- 2:18:30things in right. So it's OK to you have failed a
- 2:18:35lot. It's OK you don't have the
- 2:18:37knowledge of what you require, but it's OK whatever you have
- 2:18:41put that and then just keep going forward.
- 2:18:44Keep going forward. You shouldn't think that.
- 2:18:48Put yourself in a place of they said this and they thought this
- 2:18:53would you? Thinking about yourself is the
- 2:18:55matter. That's the matter.
- 2:19:00I love that. I love that, you know, basically
- 2:19:03it's OK to make mistakes. And of course, the audience, you
- 2:19:06guys have a parody. It's been an absolutely,
- 2:19:08absolutely realisation this at GMs Kumar.
- 2:19:13At this point, everybody is a Mayan.
- 2:19:17Wow. So from me to the audience, I
- 2:19:20always say this, you know, always go for something in your
- 2:19:23lives, concee, believe, strive to thrive and achieve.
- 2:19:28And of course, our love and respect to the one and only GMs
- 2:19:32Kumar. We love you, we appreciate you.
- 2:19:35And of course, I always say this, that when a person shares
- 2:19:38their time with you, they share their life with you because the
- 2:19:40SI uniform measure life is time. So thank you very much for
- 2:19:44sharing your life and your time with us today to educate us and
- 2:19:48to motivate us. You're highly appreciated.
- 2:19:50And of course we wish for you. And of course, we pray for you
- 2:19:54is what will manifest for you. You know, greater heights, you
- 2:19:57know, more money, more health, more wealth.
- 2:20:00And of course, you know more. What?
- 2:20:02More what? More stones and more crypto.
- 2:20:10Yeah, well, bless his brother. God bless.
- 2:20:12God bless. AI is taking away jobs.
- 2:20:15Oh, I'm AI. I didn't like you, man.
- 2:20:19But you know, I'll just make the joke that I'm not coming for
- 2:20:21your jobs. Only coming to assist you with
- 2:20:25your jobs. We've had the VP of Money 2020,
- 2:20:32Zach Pettit, that's VP, Global Fintech Strategy is a very big
- 2:20:37enthusiast of AI. And you know, Money 2020, I
- 2:20:41think those last year, yeah, I think the one in Amsterdam, they
- 2:20:45had the one in Las Vegas in October.
- 2:20:48So they said AI is not coming for your jobs, right?
- 2:20:52Your job is going to be taking part that person that knows how
- 2:20:55to use AI. But I'm going to put you on the
- 2:20:58spot here. Do you believe AI will create
- 2:21:01more jobs or replace them in the industries that you serve?
- 2:21:06See the technology always going to remove some of the people
- 2:21:12from the employment. It is definitely yes, because
- 2:21:15when when there was a time.
