- 0:18Speaker 1: medicine of them all, reflect on cherish memories, Remember that
- 0:21Speaker 1: time that the little boy grabbed my hand instead of
- 0:23Speaker 1: his mother's at the amusement park yikes, And of course,
- 0:26Speaker 1: discover gratitude while navigating one of life's hardest challenges lost.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So get ready to grow with me, Porsche the Producer,
- 0:35Speaker 1: let's dive in. Hello everybody, and welcome back to Grew

- 0:52Speaker 1: the latest and greatest of all with Grew with Porsche.
- 0:55Speaker 1: One of the things that you guys know I talk
- 0:57Speaker 1: about often is grief. And one of the key component
- 1:00Speaker 1: of working with your grief is having that love, love, support,
- 1:03Speaker 1: because I think sometimes the right support is often not
- 1:07Speaker 1: around you when you really need that pick me up
- 1:11Speaker 1: as you're going through what you're going through. So today, everybody,
- 1:15Speaker 1: I have the honor of being joined by a woman
- 1:17Speaker 1: who is built on community. And what I mean by
- 1:20Speaker 1: built on community is empowering, especially communities of color, women
- 1:24Speaker 1: of color, because let's be honest, sometimes we aren't always
- 1:28Speaker 1: in the same room and on the same page, because
- 1:30Speaker 1: there's a lot of old wounds and limiting beliefs that
- 1:32Speaker 1: we have to work through. So I have the honor
- 1:35Speaker 1: of joining me today, miss Letitia Pearson. Letitia, welcome to
- 1:40Speaker 1: the show. How are you, my friend?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Hi? I am great. Thank you for having me. I
- 1:45Speaker 2: appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, Letitia.
- 1:49Speaker 1: First of all, one of the things I love to
- 1:51Speaker 1: do is start off my conversations with gratitude. What are
- 1:53Speaker 1: you grateful for today today?
- 1:56Speaker 2: I'm grateful just being amongst the living. I am great, okay,
- 2:00Speaker 2: m very grateful.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, not reading your name in the paper. And
- 2:08Speaker 1: she lived this kind of life. No, you're living it,
- 2:10Speaker 1: you know. Little sidebar me and me and you were
- 2:14Speaker 1: talking before we started, Me and my significant other. Yes,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I am taking y'all. I've been very quiet about it.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But we went on a road trip through the Finger
- 2:23Speaker 1: Lakes in New York. And one of the things I
- 2:26Speaker 1: love to do, Latitia's I'm a big concert junkie, so
- 2:28Speaker 1: I love going to shows all the time. And we
- 2:31Speaker 1: got to see Lindsay Sterling in concert and she's a
- 2:34Speaker 1: professional violinist who was on America's Got Talent and this
- 2:38Speaker 1: was my second time seeing her. And one of the
- 2:40Speaker 1: things that she said during her concert was a lot
- 2:43Speaker 1: of us are afraid to die because we're afraid to live.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Ooh that is powerful and powerful.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Okay. Never heard that like that, Okay, And I literally
- 2:55Speaker 1: was just frozen in that moment, like I literally let
- 2:59Speaker 1: that sit with me, like so many of us are
- 3:02Speaker 1: really stuck in the paralysis of oh my god, I'm
- 3:08Speaker 1: so afraid to die that you forget how to live.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Just go about life and be that inner kid that
- 3:16Speaker 1: you once were at nine. You can still incorporate that
- 3:19Speaker 1: into here every day.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, oh wow, that is so I am like protesting. Okay, Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'm like, whoa, that is so truth. Thank you for
- 3:29Speaker 2: sharing that. I love that, And that's what you're doing
- 3:31Speaker 2: with information we receive to share to empower someone else.
- 3:36Speaker 2: So thank you for that. I appreciate it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm glad you brought that up about just
- 3:41Speaker 1: being amongst the living, right and letitia for our audience, right,
- 3:45Speaker 1: you are the star of owns Bell Collective, And I'm curious, Letitia,
- 3:52Speaker 1: let's be realistic. When we're trying to pursue our dreams,
- 3:55Speaker 1: there's a lot of pushback, right, and there's rejections of
- 4:00Speaker 1: any believes And I'm curious for our audience, what did
- 4:02Speaker 1: it take for you to get this idea that you
- 4:06Speaker 1: are the founder and creator of on the big screen
- 4:09Speaker 1: in front of the own network where so many of
- 4:12Speaker 1: us know we aspire, but there's often hurdles that we
- 4:16Speaker 1: have to work through to even get to the front door.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, First, thank you for that question, and I
- 4:22Speaker 2: appreciate it. But first and foremost, like I live in
- 4:25Speaker 2: a world of manifestation, you know, love attraction, and also
- 4:32Speaker 2: I believe that's just not my tagline on my email,
- 4:35Speaker 2: but I truly believe in becoming a change you wish
- 4:38Speaker 2: to see. So I just always have to create a
- 4:40Speaker 2: shout out to you know, the creator and Carlos King
- 4:45Speaker 2: and Kingdom Ragin Entertainment for just believing in Mississippi, for
- 4:48Speaker 2: hearing us out and hearing a pitch, you know, and
- 4:51Speaker 2: be willing to take a risk on Mississippi, you know,
- 4:54Speaker 2: And I don't even know if you know this, but
- 4:56Speaker 2: I didn't even pitch myself. I wanted to be more
- 4:59Speaker 2: of a production a system, you know, the PA or
- 5:02Speaker 2: behind the scenes. I wanted to be in it. But
- 5:06Speaker 2: Carlos King was able to see something in me that
- 5:08Speaker 2: I didn't even see in myself. So being on reality
- 5:10Speaker 2: television TV period was not on my vision board. But
- 5:14Speaker 2: I always have to credit, you know, give him credit
- 5:17Speaker 2: for that. And of course God, God allow him, God
- 5:20Speaker 2: using him as a vessel. So here we are going
- 5:23Speaker 2: to our sixth season with our premier date October third, right,
- 5:27Speaker 2: and I'm just like, whoa here is? It's always so unreal,
- 5:32Speaker 2: but it's real and I believe, you know, Portia, when
- 5:35Speaker 2: you move in good intentions, I say this all the time,
- 5:37Speaker 2: God will move you from the back of the line
- 5:39Speaker 2: to the front of the line. If you just believe
- 5:41Speaker 2: and have the desire to serve other people, to make
- 5:44Speaker 2: other people better, you will always be taken care of.
- 5:47Speaker 2: So I just I'm excited and tell all everybody tune
- 5:52Speaker 2: in October the third, okay, all new season of Bell Collective.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I have to plug it, but yeah, so and here
- 5:58Speaker 2: we are.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You know, I'm glad that you talked about again. That
- 6:02Speaker 1: power of supporting community, right, Because I'm curious, Letitia, what
- 6:07Speaker 1: did it take for you to trust, because I don't
- 6:10Speaker 1: know if you've you know, experienced being.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Burned in the past.
- 6:14Speaker 1: What did it take for you to open up to
- 6:16Speaker 1: let me just see how God is gonna work for me?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you're saying meaning being on being a
- 6:24Speaker 2: cast member on the show.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, or just trusting in the direction that things are
- 6:30Speaker 1: going right. You just wanted to be behind the scenes
- 6:32Speaker 1: and you have this person who's like, ah, you can't
- 6:35Speaker 1: be in the back of the line. You can't be
- 6:37Speaker 1: cast for the friendly Ghost when you're the one that
- 6:40Speaker 1: created the whole vision front.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Absolutely, so basically it was so so many, so many
- 6:48Speaker 2: moving partis to that when I was on a call
- 6:51Speaker 2: with Jakobe McGee that's that's who actually has peaks of
- 6:55Speaker 2: show with me and he This is a long star
- 7:00Speaker 2: but to make a long story short, you know when
- 7:02Speaker 2: when Carlos was like, well what do you do, Letitia,
- 7:05Speaker 2: and I was telling them and this, that and the other,
- 7:07Speaker 2: and it was like, oh, okay, well that sounds interesting.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So when we got off and Carlos, you know, express
- 7:11Speaker 2: that he wanted you wanted me to be on the show.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I said, Jakobe, oh my goodness, with me being on
- 7:15Speaker 2: the show, I mean, with me being there, one of
- 7:18Speaker 2: the girls not going to be able to be there.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And he had to remind me that, you know what
- 7:22Speaker 2: you talk about manifestation, you talk about having faith in God.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You're talking you talk about and you you mentor other
- 7:27Speaker 2: people to become the best version of themselves. This is
- 7:30Speaker 2: your moment like law of attraction frequency. So he started
- 7:33Speaker 2: having that. He started reminding me that's why, Porsche, it's
- 7:36Speaker 2: so important to surround yourself around people that when you
- 7:38Speaker 2: forget who you are, they'll remind you. So that's what happened.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I went to Glenn at the time. I was like,
- 7:44Speaker 2: we're not doing this, We're not doing that, and Glenn's like, oh,
- 7:47Speaker 2: yes we are. You remember you, you know you've been
- 7:50Speaker 2: hearing manifesting. So somewhere along the line, I subconsciously, you know,
- 7:55Speaker 2: a consciously manifested this. And I trust the process. I
- 7:58Speaker 2: trust the process and all you know, I believe that
- 8:01Speaker 2: even with us talking, I don't believe that we people
- 8:04Speaker 2: you meet just by accident. I always look deeper into
- 8:07Speaker 2: it to figure out what is this because I understand alignment.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I understand again trust in the process. I understand that
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm the power of my mind. So whatever I'm praying
- 8:18Speaker 2: about or meditate or manifesting or writing about, it's going
- 8:23Speaker 2: to come. So I'm always open because I know that
- 8:25Speaker 2: I am a magnet just like you are. And anything
- 8:28Speaker 2: that we want or anything we desire, anything we don't
- 8:31Speaker 2: want that we think about, we attracted until ourselves. So
- 8:36Speaker 2: that's just that's just where it is. Basically just trusting
- 8:38Speaker 2: God and trusting the process, and trusting the team that
- 8:41Speaker 2: God put around me that part.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And I know that a lot of times it can
- 8:46Speaker 1: be hard if you're not open. Yeah, right when you
- 8:50Speaker 1: talk about manifesting right, being in alignment right, right, really
- 8:56Speaker 1: just giving yourself permission to do something different, yes, right,
- 9:01Speaker 1: because oftentimes, let's be realistic, trauma hinders a lot of us, true,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and some of us don't do the deep work, so
- 9:11Speaker 1: we keep ending up in the same spiral. You know,
- 9:15Speaker 1: my soul dad said this to me, I think ten
- 9:17Speaker 1: years ago, if I do what I always did, I'll
- 9:20Speaker 1: get what I always got.
- 9:22Speaker 2: That's powerful. That's powerful, that's powerful.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think so many of us subconsciously are
- 9:29Speaker 1: prisoner of that because we're so used to things being
- 9:35Speaker 1: in a certain order instead of us just saying, you
- 9:38Speaker 1: know what, let me give myself permission to do it differently.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I love that. Let me give myself permission. I love that.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And trust yourself, you know, trust yourself, like trust yourself,
- 9:49Speaker 2: trust yourself, And I live by Hey, I'm a visionary
- 9:54Speaker 2: at hard so I'm like, hey, if something something that
- 9:57Speaker 2: work out, try again. Like, I'm not one of those
- 9:59Speaker 2: peop people who are afraid to like start over. I'm
- 10:03Speaker 2: not one of those who I believe like I believe that,
- 10:06Speaker 2: I believe I can fly if I wanted to get
- 10:08Speaker 2: up there, I want to lie and don't surround don't
- 10:11Speaker 2: come around me because I don't be like girl, you
- 10:13Speaker 2: can fly too. But no, seriously, you said something that
- 10:16Speaker 2: was very, very powerful. A lot of times we don't
- 10:19Speaker 2: give our salf permission. We don't give our sales permission
- 10:21Speaker 2: because we feel like we're not worthy. We don't give
- 10:24Speaker 2: our sales permission because we are afraid that other people
- 10:27Speaker 2: won't support our vision. They don't suppose to. We're just
- 10:31Speaker 2: afraid of failure. We don't give our sales permission. Because
- 10:34Speaker 2: we feel like we don't fit what society has told
- 10:37Speaker 2: us we're supposed to fit, like you know, and so
- 10:40Speaker 2: you that was very powerful. It is important to give
- 10:42Speaker 2: your sale permission and speak affirmations and speak into your
- 10:45Speaker 2: life and say I am worthy, I do deserve this opportunity.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I do deserve the best, you know, and then things
- 10:50Speaker 2: will start to shift in your life. But I love that,
- 10:52Speaker 2: and I love that you shared that with your audience.
- 10:54Speaker 2: That's beautiful.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I've had to do a lot of mindset shift, Latitia,
- 11:00Speaker 1: because even for me, just giving myself permission to love again, right,
- 11:06Speaker 1: those of you who know my story of losing both
- 11:09Speaker 1: my parents in the last three years, I shut myself down, right,
- 11:13Speaker 1: like I shut down from allowing the openness of love
- 11:18Speaker 1: because I felt like that love pool had closed, right.
- 11:22Speaker 1: But I had to give myself permission to open up
- 11:26Speaker 1: to that new love language from both of my parents,
- 11:30Speaker 1: right in the form of the signs such as the butterflies,
- 11:34Speaker 1: the hawks, the numbers, the eleven eleven, ten ten, whatever, right,
- 11:39Speaker 1: finding the keys on the ground or the pennies whatever
- 11:43Speaker 1: you're yeah, you know, but given myself that permission and
- 11:50Speaker 1: seeing the return on investment allowing right, allowing it to
- 11:54Speaker 1: unfold organically instead of trying to control what this looks like.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yes, control what you can control and let the rest
- 12:03Speaker 2: just handle itself. I'm so proud of you. I'm so
- 12:06Speaker 2: proud of you, and you're happy, you're glowing. Just came
- 12:09Speaker 2: off of vacation. You allowed love to find you. You
- 12:13Speaker 2: were open to receive it, and that's beautiful. Like we can't,
- 12:18Speaker 2: we can't control everything. Control what you can't control, and
- 12:22Speaker 2: focus on what you what you want, your desires, and
- 12:25Speaker 2: where you're going, and let everything else just happen like God,
- 12:29Speaker 2: got it?
- 12:30Speaker 1: Oh, you're right, I mean talk about when you talk
- 12:32Speaker 1: about manifestation. I'll say this really quick. I manifested my partner.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I did. I mean I wrote, Yeah, I wrote everything
- 12:41Speaker 1: I wanted from personality, hobbies, ethnicity, everything, and then subconsciously
- 12:51Speaker 1: already knew some of the things that are non negotiable. Right.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I love music.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I love chows, so I'm like, this has to be
- 12:57Speaker 1: a part of our relationship is music of some sort
- 13:01Speaker 1: and word of the odds. We ended up meeting at
- 13:03Speaker 1: a concert that Wow, I believe.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I love stories like this is my favorite. I love
- 13:09Speaker 2: hearing it because you would think your people who don't
- 13:12Speaker 2: understand the power of you know, manifestation, the power of
- 13:17Speaker 2: you know, the law. People who don't understand that you
- 13:21Speaker 2: they'll think you crazy. Right, I really really think you crazy.
- 13:25Speaker 2: So I love hearing stories and I love meeting people
- 13:28Speaker 2: who are in on the same frequency. So congratulations for you,
- 13:32Speaker 2: Congratulations for believing in you, Congratulations were giving yourself permission.
- 13:37Speaker 2: And congratulations girl for your man. Honey, Yeah, you wrote
- 13:42Speaker 2: it down, you made it flying. I love it.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You're right and sigh sealed and delivery.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Congratulations. I am here for a honey.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean when I tell you, Letitia, him coming
- 13:56Speaker 1: into my life and our love story is like a
- 13:58Speaker 1: Hallmark movie. I'm not been kidding. Like the whole thing
- 14:01Speaker 1: is like a Hallmark movie. You know. I could write
- 14:05Speaker 1: a whole script about us and our journey together, from
- 14:09Speaker 1: us going on vacation, the mini shows that we've been
- 14:13Speaker 1: to already, the different events. I mean literally, it's like
- 14:17Speaker 1: it's own Hallmark movie and it keeps evolving every time.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I love that. I'm happy for you. Thank you. I
- 14:25Speaker 2: am happy for you.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Yes, I mean talk about allowing right, because I've seen
- 14:31Speaker 1: my darkest days no, and you know, to kind of
- 14:34Speaker 1: like segue Letitia for our audience who's tuning in if
- 14:38Speaker 1: they're interested in connecting with you, obviously tuning in to
- 14:42Speaker 1: the new season of The Bell Collective. How can they
- 14:45Speaker 1: connect with you and also tune in?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Well, I'm Latisia Pearson everywhere, so l A t E
- 14:52Speaker 2: s h I A Latitia Pearson own everything I am dibbling.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Not hard to find for sure, so please do connect
- 14:59Speaker 2: to watched the show, I mean every Friday night starting
- 15:02Speaker 2: October third on the own network, So week seven pm Central,
- 15:07Speaker 2: I think.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's eight a pm Eastern, Yes.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Eastern, So definitely just tune in, I mean, and support
- 15:15Speaker 2: and show your love and you know, follow me on Instagram?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Was Heisha Pearson? So yeah, I'm everywhere.
- 15:22Speaker 1: So there you go. Everybody. You can follow her on
- 15:24Speaker 1: all social media platforms. You know, Google has become our
- 15:27Speaker 1: greatest friend and asset. You can just Google somebody's name
- 15:31Speaker 1: and you know, yeah, definitely mark your calendars for October
- 15:35Speaker 1: the third. So Letitia, when we were talking before we
- 15:38Speaker 1: started this conversation, one of the things that I know
- 15:41Speaker 1: both of us struggle with is pcos. And for those
- 15:44Speaker 1: of you who don't know. PCOS stands for polycystic ovarian syndrome,
- 15:49Speaker 1: which is a hormonal imbalance that causes your ovaries to
- 15:53Speaker 1: be in large and have cysts on them. You also
- 15:55Speaker 1: have these weird little side effects such as excess hair,
- 15:58Speaker 1: and you know, irregular or menstrual cycles and all the things.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm not going to go into all of it. The teacher,
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm curious, what did it take for you to become
- 16:06Speaker 1: vulnerable about PCOS? Considering that it's so personal and it's
- 16:11Speaker 1: invisible to people.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So I was dignosed in two thousand and eleven. I
- 16:18Speaker 2: had no idea what was going on at this time.
- 16:21Speaker 2: You know, I was telling my mom, you know, something
- 16:24Speaker 2: is not right. I had to go to the doctor
- 16:27Speaker 2: to turn my cycle on. I had to go to
- 16:29Speaker 2: the doctor to term my cycle. All things were just
- 16:32Speaker 2: like all over the place. I had like facial hair
- 16:35Speaker 2: at that time, and I'm like, I'm waxing. I'm like,
- 16:39Speaker 2: what's going on? You know what is happening? And I
- 16:42Speaker 2: got tested. I went to a black doctor here in
- 16:46Speaker 2: Mississippi and she was like, have you ever been tested
- 16:48Speaker 2: for PCOS? I'm like, what is that? And she was
- 16:51Speaker 2: just looking in all of my symptoms that I was
- 16:53Speaker 2: having anxiety, like things I should not have be having
- 16:56Speaker 2: as a woman. So she immediately tested me and came
- 17:00Speaker 2: out that I have you know, PCOS. And as I
- 17:04Speaker 2: started to progress and I end up trying birth control
- 17:10Speaker 2: did not work for me. And you know, if you
- 17:12Speaker 2: go to some doctors, they'll just say lose weight, you know,
- 17:15Speaker 2: lose weight. I'm like, it's deeper than that. So I
- 17:17Speaker 2: was I was just want to say, I was put
- 17:19Speaker 2: on met foreman, you know. And then after that I
- 17:22Speaker 2: started having cycles. And then my baby came. Josh came
- 17:26Speaker 2: was ten now, so I got pregnant and all the
- 17:28Speaker 2: time before I wasn't even able to have a child.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So while I was trying to regulate my PCOS, then
- 17:33Speaker 2: I ended you know, ended up getting getting you know,
- 17:35Speaker 2: getting pregnant. So after the baby, you know, the way
- 17:38Speaker 2: just started to come and come. I started becoming like
- 17:41Speaker 2: in flying inflammation was the thing that hit me. And
- 17:44Speaker 2: you know, I have inflammation. Mine is in my belly.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Some people you know have agne, some people have facial hair.
- 17:49Speaker 2: The depression, the painful cycles, all of that, infertility, you know,
- 17:55Speaker 2: it's so much that comes with PCOS. The mood swings,
- 17:59Speaker 2: you know, oppression, a lot of mental issues that we
- 18:02Speaker 2: don't talk about, you know, with women who are dealing
- 18:05Speaker 2: with VCOs. So I'm just like, hey, I believe everything
- 18:09Speaker 2: that I go through is to inspire someone else, is
- 18:12Speaker 2: to you know, bring awareness to This month is PCOS
- 18:16Speaker 2: Awareness month, you know. So I was like, you know, what,
- 18:18Speaker 2: if I'm on this platform, or even prior to the platform,
- 18:21Speaker 2: it's connecting with sisters, see why as ters. So I
- 18:25Speaker 2: was connecting with sisters like you you know, and just
- 18:28Speaker 2: talking to them, trying to figure out how can we
- 18:31Speaker 2: support each other. There are so many Facebook groups out
- 18:33Speaker 2: there that I've joined PCOS for Black women. I mean,
- 18:37Speaker 2: it's just so many that I'm in and I'm learning
- 18:39Speaker 2: we're really you know, helping each other. So again, to
- 18:42Speaker 2: make to answer your question, what made me be vulnerable,
- 18:44Speaker 2: I'm okay, I've never in my entire life not had
- 18:48Speaker 2: I've never had a problem with being vulnerable or just
- 18:51Speaker 2: being my authentic self or really sharing what's going on
- 18:54Speaker 2: with me. So that was kind of easy for me.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I look at things from the perspective of if I'm
- 18:58Speaker 2: going through this, maybe someone else's going this. So let
- 19:00Speaker 2: me talk about it, and I'm glad I did it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean because I'm wondering too, Letitia, how did
- 19:06Speaker 1: you make light of it? I always tell people when
- 19:08Speaker 1: I've got to use a Gilent razor to shave my
- 19:12Speaker 1: sideburns and get rid of the whisker clans or you know,
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'm grateful for the fact that I have tweezers to
- 19:19Speaker 1: get rid of these little if you want to call
- 19:21Speaker 1: it little groundhogs in my face.
- 19:24Speaker 2: You know, I would say make light of it. It's
- 19:30Speaker 2: just that more so, like again, control what you can
- 19:32Speaker 2: control and change your perspective. So I started turning my
- 19:36Speaker 2: wax days. I put my wax days on, like my
- 19:39Speaker 2: petticare or just things that make me feel good. So
- 19:42Speaker 2: I hardly ever go in there. Maybe once or twice
- 19:44Speaker 2: to go into the salon where I go to get
- 19:48Speaker 2: my wax, and I'm like, oh, I'm just give me
- 19:50Speaker 2: a petticare or I'll get my my nail polish changed.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Like I do things to make me feel good. So
- 19:56Speaker 2: it's just it's just one of those things I hate.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I've never used a I'm so scared to use a
- 20:01Speaker 2: razor because I read if you use a razor the
- 20:04Speaker 2: bumps gonna come, so I go pay that money for
- 20:07Speaker 2: the wax. I'm so scared to use a razor. I
- 20:10Speaker 2: am scared so but your skin looks amazing, so I'm
- 20:13Speaker 2: sure you're you're good on that. But I don't make
- 20:16Speaker 2: light of it. It's just one of those things. It comes.
- 20:19Speaker 2: This is life. Life is life, and I just take
- 20:23Speaker 2: I just I just take whatever punches and try to,
- 20:26Speaker 2: you know, bring bring the best out of it.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I make my humor risk. Like my
- 20:31Speaker 1: friends know my sarcasm. I always tell people when I
- 20:34Speaker 1: don't want to do something, I'd rather smoke toothpicks with
- 20:37Speaker 1: my butt cheeks. That's often what.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I love that, and I love that. I'll start, I listen,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I'm steal all your little ones, not the one line
- 20:45Speaker 2: of Okay.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Really, people tell me I need a book of all
- 20:49Speaker 1: of your sayings.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I need. I need the
- 20:53Speaker 2: one liners for the girls. I need to read trying
- 20:56Speaker 2: to give me the reds porsch with the reeds, give
- 20:58Speaker 2: them tothing, give me the red.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Right, I mean, because that that's literally what helps me
- 21:03Speaker 1: through is humor right with everything, just like when it's
- 21:07Speaker 1: my menstr cycle time. I always tell people, look, I've
- 21:10Speaker 1: got little red riding hood and the big bad wolf
- 21:14Speaker 1: taking me through the forest beating me up. That's literally
- 21:16Speaker 1: what my you know.
- 21:19Speaker 2: One like hell. Like my Day one is like the worst.
- 21:24Speaker 2: It's not throughout, but it's that Day one. I mean
- 21:29Speaker 2: I can't move. I literally cannot move. Day one for
- 21:32Speaker 2: me is like the worst. I feel like I feel
- 21:35Speaker 2: like my ovaries like they're having like some type of
- 21:38Speaker 2: wrestling match. Like Day one is terrible for me. You know,
- 21:44Speaker 2: I'm Tyson all over.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Again, all over, Yes, you know, it depends. I know
- 21:51Speaker 1: often when I've got a lot of emotional stress or
- 21:55Speaker 1: emotional baggage that I've taken on than my cycle, gonna
- 22:00Speaker 1: normally replicate that. If I've been on a clean slate
- 22:05Speaker 1: where I've been doing my journaling, getting you know, not
- 22:08Speaker 1: having a mind that's full of all the business stuff, yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 1: events or upcoming things, then I'm good. But I often walk.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I do a lot of walking when my cycle is,
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know, pulling an upper cut on me twenty four
- 22:25Speaker 1: to seven good for stand lot.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Are you very strong? Yes? Yes, grouding a wheelchair so
- 22:32Speaker 2: you are very very strong.
- 22:35Speaker 1: That's all right, you look, your wheelchair is your companion. Okay,
- 22:38Speaker 1: that is your personal companion. It got a nickname, and
- 22:41Speaker 1: it's there for support. Like what we talked about the beginning.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Like I'm over here taking care of her. Here we go,
- 22:47Speaker 2: she's she's having another baby. I'm like exactly, this is
- 22:51Speaker 2: day one. So okay, well good and thank you for
- 22:54Speaker 2: bringing awareness. It is like we need we need more
- 22:57Speaker 2: of that, you know, we need more of that. We
- 22:59Speaker 2: need to continue to advocate and you know, our legislators
- 23:05Speaker 2: like get out here. We need to start, you know,
- 23:07Speaker 2: just coming together that our doctors will actually start checking,
- 23:11Speaker 2: like listen to us, because there are so many people,
- 23:14Speaker 2: so many women walking around with PCOS and they think,
- 23:17Speaker 2: what is wrong with me? They don't know, they don't know.
- 23:20Speaker 2: The doctors are not checking, you know, they're saying, lose
- 23:23Speaker 2: weight or walk or here's Matt Foreman or here's some
- 23:28Speaker 2: birth control pills, like just you know, patching things up.
- 23:32Speaker 2: We need to get in there and really advocate and
- 23:34Speaker 2: become that change. Right. I do that a lot. I
- 23:38Speaker 2: do that a lot. PCOS Challenge is an amazing organization
- 23:42Speaker 2: to really work with. They are super super being in
- 23:45Speaker 2: a community and they really they are. They're all for
- 23:49Speaker 2: making sure that doctors start checking.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Us forward, right, because it seems to me that because
- 23:56Speaker 1: of all of the symptoms of pco as, they can
- 24:00Speaker 1: be masked as possibly menopause, pre menopause.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be so many things, so many things,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I mean, so many things.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yep, you're right, Yeah, So definitely, everybody, you know, make
- 24:11Speaker 1: sure that you're being that advocate that you know that
- 24:14Speaker 1: you need and take somebody with you. Don't be afraid
- 24:18Speaker 1: that powerful take with you, because you need that sometimes,
- 24:22Speaker 1: you know, especially if it's somebody who may have had
- 24:25Speaker 1: a history in the medical field, maybe they're a retired
- 24:27Speaker 1: nurse or position assistant or whatever, because you never know
- 24:31Speaker 1: how having that second set of eyes can really help
- 24:35Speaker 1: save your life in some circumstances.
- 24:38Speaker 2: You know, good stuff. That's good stuff.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, Leticia, first of all, I extend so much
- 24:44Speaker 1: gratitude to you for coming on the show and sharing
- 24:47Speaker 1: just your story of you know, that resilience, right of
- 24:52Speaker 1: being open manifesting, changing your perspective and really calling in
- 24:59Speaker 1: what you really want want and allowing it to unfold
- 25:02Speaker 1: organically instead of trying to control it, right, and also
- 25:05Speaker 1: taking control of your health, being that advocate that you
- 25:08Speaker 1: know that you need it in the room and not
- 25:10Speaker 1: just letting time go by sitting around or I'm afraid, No,
- 25:14Speaker 1: you took action.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, thank you, thank you so yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 1: So Letitia for our audience. Before we conclude today, we
- 25:23Speaker 1: talked about community right and I know often that there's
- 25:27Speaker 1: a lot of women of color that are still on
- 25:29Speaker 1: the fence about working with each other and building real community,
- 25:33Speaker 1: real sisterhood. What words of wisdom, Letitia, can you lead
- 25:37Speaker 1: with them today to give themselves permission to open their
- 25:41Speaker 1: hearts up to be amongst their sisters, be the helping him,
- 25:45Speaker 1: be the change they wished to see. Because teamwork makes
- 25:49Speaker 1: the dream work.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Oh that is beautiful. I would tell everyoneman out there,
- 25:55Speaker 2: don't be afraid to shoot your shot, meaning if you
- 26:00Speaker 2: see another woman doing something that's amazing, congratulate her. See
- 26:06Speaker 2: if it's a possible, if she's doing something that you
- 26:09Speaker 2: want to do. See if you guys can collaborate. I'm
- 26:11Speaker 2: for a collaboration over competition or not even that, to
- 26:15Speaker 2: see maybe she can mentor you like. We have to
- 26:18Speaker 2: change that stereotype that women, especially Black women, cannot work
- 26:21Speaker 2: together because we can and if we believe, and we
- 26:25Speaker 2: believe that wholeheartedly and look at each other as you're
- 26:29Speaker 2: my sister, you're not my competition. We have so much
- 26:33Speaker 2: in common. We can help each other in so many
- 26:35Speaker 2: ways that no one else would even probably want to.
- 26:39Speaker 2: So once we understand the power and unity, the power
- 26:44Speaker 2: in us really connecting and collaborate, not just talking about it,
- 26:47Speaker 2: not just because it's a trending thing, but to really
- 26:50Speaker 2: build a sisterhood, shoot your shot because that person may
- 26:54Speaker 2: be waiting too, and we just want to become the
- 26:58Speaker 2: change you wish to see, you know, become, You'll never
- 27:01Speaker 2: know unless you shoot your shot, So go ahead. I
- 27:04Speaker 2: would encourage any woman out there if you want to
- 27:07Speaker 2: work with another woman, if you want to collaborate, if
- 27:09Speaker 2: you want advice, if you need whatever, or even if
- 27:11Speaker 2: you just want to say, girl, you on your you
- 27:14Speaker 2: doing your thing, don't be afraid to do that. Life.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It's a boomerang. Whatever we put out there is coming back.
- 27:20Speaker 2: So if you want to see that in your life
- 27:22Speaker 2: and you want to see the change, and you want
- 27:24Speaker 2: to work with other women, don't be afraid. And hey,
- 27:27Speaker 2: at the end of the day, if they shoot you down,
- 27:29Speaker 2: it's okay. You shot your shot, and just know that
- 27:32Speaker 2: that's not that's not your tribe. But don't give up
- 27:34Speaker 2: and keep moving that part.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Don't give up, keep moving and give yourself permission to
- 27:41Speaker 1: put your hat in the arena. Yeah, you never know
- 27:44Speaker 1: what kind of return you're gonna get from giving yourself that.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Betting on you, right, betting on.
- 27:51Speaker 2: You, betting on you, betting on you, and believe in you,
- 27:55Speaker 2: believe in you, believe in you, and believe in you,
- 27:59Speaker 2: and again, colle operation over competition. I cannot stress that
- 28:02Speaker 2: enough because can't nobody do me like I do me?
- 28:05Speaker 2: Can't nobody do you like you do you? We all
- 28:08Speaker 2: have these special, unique gifts and talents. So don't be
- 28:10Speaker 2: afraid if someone's gonna take your dream. But you should
- 28:13Speaker 2: be afraid that if you don't move in your purpose
- 28:16Speaker 2: and your God given talents, you should be afraid to
- 28:18Speaker 2: see it manifesting somebody else. Because whatever is meant to
- 28:21Speaker 2: get out in this world is gonna get out get
- 28:23Speaker 2: out anyway. So if you're not courageous enough to do it,
- 28:26Speaker 2: you better believe somebody else will. Your dreams only move
- 28:30Speaker 2: when you do a dream, it is that's a dream honey,
- 28:33Speaker 2: you better wake up.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Okay, Well, everybody, that was miss Letitia Pearson that you
- 28:41Speaker 1: heard from on grew a Portie. And that concludes another
- 28:44Speaker 1: episode here and thanks for tuning until next time. Everybody,
- 28:47Speaker 1: piece and hair grease.
- 28:48Speaker 2: A piece and agories. Thank you for having me. This
- 28:51Speaker 2: was beautiful. I appreciate you
