- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from the w o R Live Back Studios, Mark Simon,
- 0:06Speaker 1: that's let's go to uh Jim in Connecticut. Jim, How
- 0:10Speaker 1: you doing?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Pretty good?
- 0:13Speaker 3: Mark.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I'm a big fan for many years and I thoroughly
- 0:16Speaker 2: enjoyed your show back in the nineties about Frank Sinatra.
- 0:20Speaker 2: But I have a question for you about maybe some
- 0:21Speaker 2: of your contemporaries back then. Yes, whatever happened to Jay
- 0:24Speaker 2: Diamond and whatever happened to Lynn Samuels.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Lynn Samuels passed away, I'd say two thousand and five
- 0:33Speaker 1: or six. Yeah, Lynn Samuels died. Jay Diamond I haven't
- 0:38Speaker 1: seen a long time. I don't remember what he was doing.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I left the radio, but I don't know what he's doing.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Lost touch with him.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Oh okay, Yeah that was it, and so continue success.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Mark.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I love the show and other names where I have
- 0:53Speaker 1: something to say. Lynn Samuel.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Can't think of it. You're off the top of my
- 0:58Speaker 2: head right now. Mark, but you are the best of
- 1:00Speaker 2: the best.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Thanks a lot. Thanks take care. Let's go
- 1:03Speaker 1: to Justin and fair Lawn. Justin, how you doing.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Oh, pleasure to speak with you. Mark. Ras show is
- 1:10Speaker 2: always when you were talking about the long lines for
- 1:12Speaker 2: food I'm thinking of an episode with the Soup Nazi.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I think I might have been influenced by that.
- 1:19Speaker 1: What are your thoughts, Well, that's a good question. The
- 1:23Speaker 1: Soup Nazi, it was right up there over in the
- 1:25Speaker 1: fifty fifth had the greatest soup in the world. But
- 1:27Speaker 1: you waited in line for twenty minutes, not two hours.
- 1:31Speaker 1: But that's it's a good point. There was no Instagram
- 1:35Speaker 1: back then. Soup Nazi was in the nineties, and had
- 1:39Speaker 1: there been an Instagram, it was just a little stand.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It wasn't even a store. It was just a little
- 1:44Speaker 1: tiny stand with the Soup Nazi and two assistants behind him,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and he would personally like do all the soup himself
- 1:51Speaker 1: with that ladle and put it in the cup. But
- 1:54Speaker 1: if there were Instagram, he would have had three four
- 1:58Speaker 1: hour lines. It would have gone. So we had all
- 2:00Speaker 1: this great stuff back then, but no Instagram to cause
- 2:04Speaker 1: massive lines. Let's go to Rich and Myrtle Beach.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Rich.
- 2:06Speaker 3: How you doing, Hey, Thanks Mark. I wouldn't wait fifteen
- 2:10Speaker 3: minutes on line to stamps. These people dead are kind
- 2:12Speaker 3: of people that when you're sitting on the beach all
- 2:14Speaker 3: by yourself and there's nobody around, will take that chance
- 2:17Speaker 3: and sit fifteen feet from you, because nobody can stand
- 2:20Speaker 3: to be alone. You know, it's funny you mentioned I
- 2:23Speaker 3: can't believe I heard the Grateful Dead a couple of
- 2:24Speaker 3: times on the show today. You should ask and Calter
- 2:28Speaker 3: next time she's on. She's a big dead head and
- 2:30Speaker 3: been looking at them and following them for a long time.
- 2:32Speaker 1: You know. But Grateful Dead, what the hell is it
- 2:37Speaker 1: about them?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Why they're the best cover band that ever lived because
- 2:41Speaker 3: they wouldn't even play the role music sometimes. But as
- 2:44Speaker 3: far as golf, the long Island walk, how can you
- 2:46Speaker 3: can screen your head off when a guy's trying to
- 2:48Speaker 3: hit one hundred mile an hour fastball, but you can't
- 2:50Speaker 3: say a word when a guy's sitting the ball is
- 2:51Speaker 3: sitting still.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Well that's a good point. No, it's not a bad point.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It might make golf more interesting if they let the fans.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah. As far as Jay Diamond, my buddy Bob detect
- 3:05Speaker 3: New York City detective live in San Diego. I think
- 3:07Speaker 3: he talks to Jay Diamond all the time. I think
- 3:09Speaker 3: those guys are buddies.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So all right, Well, that's good, good to know he's well,
- 3:13Speaker 1: all right, Thanks for calling. Yeah, I don't know. You know,
- 3:16Speaker 1: golf is always a very quiet game where they announcer
- 3:18Speaker 1: whisper a few I don't know if you start yelling
- 3:22Speaker 1: and scree I guess the idea was it distracts the player.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But so what so what if Aaron Judge can swing distracted.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Let these guys swing distracted. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 3:33Speaker 1: we only got a minute.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Okay, good morning, Marco. Morning matter Marks. Since the reflecting
- 3:39Speaker 4: pool is not a swimming pool proper, Trump could just
- 3:42Speaker 4: use anti fouling paint, right Rich, that they use on
- 3:46Speaker 4: the bottom of boats, and it releases coppa and the
- 3:50Speaker 4: algae doesn't grow. That's what boats use on the bottom,
- 3:52Speaker 4: so the bottom doesn't get fouled.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Mark.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I'm sure you didn't hear the opening speech that this
- 3:59Speaker 4: woman gave it the opening of the bars Obama Museum.
- 4:03Speaker 4: She praised about Valerie Jarrett. Yeah, well yeah, she was
- 4:07Speaker 4: talking about all the Indian.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Tribes stolen land and all that.
- 4:11Speaker 4: So why didn't they named the museum the Ba Ba
- 4:14Speaker 4: Ba Ba Barack Obama Museum, name all the tribes that
- 4:19Speaker 4: they stole the land from.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I like that, all right, Vincent great call, Thanks for calling.
- 4:23Speaker 1: When we come back, Bill O'Reilly will be with us
- 4:25Speaker 1: next lots to talk to him about coming up on
- 4:28Speaker 1: seven to ten w R. Let's get the latest news.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Here's Daria Albinger. Hey, Mark, when you got that call
- 4:33Speaker 1: about the Soup Nazi. I did a little research and
- 4:35Speaker 1: apparently it's still open. Oh yeah, it's not just.
- 4:38Speaker 2: A different name now, it's the original suit.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Man, quite the same nowhere else. I was there the
- 4:44Speaker 1: other day.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I wasn't going to say that, but but if you
- 4:48Speaker 2: want the experience, you can go there.
