- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Behold, I am coming quickly.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: No other book in the Bible makes this declaration about itself.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: We cannot keep what we do not know.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, so on to the terms, and as always forgive the redundancy.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: The terms will be listed in alphabetical order.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: You do not want to miss these as I know that you do not know what all these terms mean, and I know this because I didn't and in fact am still learning.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Death.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, death is fundamentally defined as separation, not non existence.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: The scripture presents death in three main ways physical death, which is defined as a separation of the human soul and spirit from the physical body.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Your spirit and soul never seem to age, but your body definitely does.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: That's because your soul and spirit are eternal, and if you are born again Christian, you get a new body, of which it will too be eternal.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: A scriptural example, when Rachel died in childbirth, the Bible describes it as her soul departing from her body, Genesis thirty five eighteen.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Ecclesiastes also notes that the physical body returns to death while the spirit returns to God.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Ecclesiastes twelve seven.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Spiritual death definition the separation of the human soul from God the state of sin.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Because of human disobedience, people are born into a state of spiritual separation from God, unable to fellowship with him on their own.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Ephesians two.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, he immediately experienced this spiritual alienation before dying physically later Genesis three eight.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Eternal death, the second death, the definition, the final, permanent separation from God and his blessings.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Final judgment, described in Revelation as a lake of fire.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: This represents the ultimate judgment for rejecting God's salvation Revelation twenty fourteen through fifteen.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: The root cause the penalty the Bible teaches that death entered the world as a direct consequence and judgment for human sin against the holy God Romans twelve and six twenty three.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: The remedy Physical and spiritual deaths are common human experiences, but the second death is defeated and overcome through faith in Jesus Christ.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss death are as follows.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: The Bible contains many passages that discuss death, addressing it through themes of comfort, human limitation, and eternal life.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Comfort and peace.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Psalm twenty three four offers reassurance of divine presence in dark times, of which we are currently living in.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Psalm thirty four eighteen highlights God's closeness to the broken hearted, and first Thessalonians four thirteen through fourteen encourages believers not to grieve without hope regarding those who sleep in death.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Life, season and limits.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Ecclesiastes three notes that there is a design time for both birth and death.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Psalm ninety ten reflects on the brief and fleeting span of human life.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Ecclesiastes twelve seven describes a physical return to dust and a spirit's return to God.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: You see, I've heard some people say that all roads lead to God, which is true.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Everybody's spirit will go to God, just like that scripture says, the spirits return to God.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: But it will be there in the judgment that there will be a separation from those who were righteous, and their life was spent in Jesus Christ, how long is irrelevant?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: And then those who rejected God.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Resurrection and hope John eleven twenty five through twenty six proclaims Jesus as a resurrection and life for believers.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Romans six twenty three contrasts the wages of sin with God's gift of eternal life.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Corinthians fifteen twenty six identifies death as the final enemy to be destroyed.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: So in some strange way, death is actually alive.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: It is a spirit.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: If you recall Jesus in Revelation said I took the keys from Hades and death, and also that death itself would be thrown into the lake of fire.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Revelation twenty one four foresees a future free of death and tears.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Our next word is dragon.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, a dragon is defined primarily as a symbol of cosmic chaos, oppressive human empires, and spiritual evil personified as Satan.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: The original language and meaning Tanin, Hebrew, the Old Testament uses the Hebrew word tanin, which translates to dragon, serpent, or great sea creature.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: It refers broadly to large reptiles, sea monsters, or crocodiles.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Dracon, which is Greek, the New Testament uses the Greek word dracon, appearing exclusively in the book of Revelation to represent a fiery, multi headed monster.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: What the dragon represents?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Satan and spiritual evil.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: The New Testament explicitly identifies a dragon as a devil.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Revelation twenty two calls the dragon the ancient serpent, who is the devil or Satan, symbolizing his active rebellion against God and his deception of humanity.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Violent human empires and kings.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Biblical prophets use dragon imagery to describe arrogant and destructive worldly powers.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: For example, Ezekiel twenty nine three refers to the proud Pharaoh of Egypt as a great dragon that lays in the midst of his rivers.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Forces of chaos and death.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: In Old Testament poetry such as Isaiah twenty seven one and Psalm seventy four thirteen, sea dragons or monsters like Leviathan represent the dark, chaotic, and destructive forces of the deep that opposes God's life giving order.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss dragon are as follows The New Testament, the devil and Satan, Revelation twelve three introduces a huge red dragon with seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns, representing cosmic evil.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Revelation twelve nine explicitly identifies the creature, the great dragon who was hurled down, that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan who leads the whole world astray.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Revelation twenty two describes an angel seizing the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is a devil or Satan, and binding him for a thousand years.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: Ezekiel twenty nine three compares the arrogant Pharaoh King of Egypt to a great monster that is dragon that lies among his rivers.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Psalm seventy four thirteen recalls God's power over chaos at creation.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: You divided the sea by your strength, you smashed the heads of the dragons of the sea.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Isaiah fifty one nine calls on God's strength, asking, was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces who pierced through the dragon?
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Using Rahab and Dragon as poetic symbols for Egypt and chaos.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Isaiah twenty seven one mentions that in that day the Lord will punish Leviathan, the gliding serpent, and will slay the monster that is the dragon of the sea.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: It's a dual fulfillment, a dual or double fulfillment of a Bible prophecy that occurs when a single prophetic statement has both an immediate and short term historical fulfillment, and a later, ultimate long term fulfillment.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: How dual fulfillment works near fulfillment, the prophecy applies to a real event or person living during or shortly after the prophet's own time.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: A far fulfillment, the prophecy points forward to a greater, often spiritual or estological, that is end times event, frequently fulfilled in Jesus Christ or the final establishment of God's kingdom.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: New Testament application New Testament writers are often guided by the Holy Spirit to recognize how an Old Testament text transcends its original context to reveal a deeper, complete reality in Christ.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Some biblical examples The Emmanuel prophecy Isaiah seven fourteen near fulfillment serves as an immediate sign to King Ahaz in the eighth century BC that God was with Judah during a military threat.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: Far fulfillment, applied by Matthew in chapter one verses twenty two through twenty three to the miraculous virgin birth of Jesus, the true God with us.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: The coming of Elijah, Malachi four, five six.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Near fulfillment, Jesus identified John the Baptist as fulfilling the role of Elijah in spirit and power during his first coming, Matthew seventeen, eleven through thirteen.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Far fulfillment, many theologians see a future, final appearance or prophetic parallel before the second coming of Christ.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: And the last example, the prophecy of Joel in Joel two, twenty eight through twenty nine, near fulfillment, partially fulfilled on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the early believers two, sixteen through twenty one, and far fulfillment awaits an ultimate, final cosmic realization at the end of the age.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss dual fulfillment are as follows The Emmanuel Prophecy, the Scripture Isaiah seven, verse fourteen, therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Emmanuel.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Near fulfillment in Isaiah's original historical context, this served as an immediate sign to King Ahaz during a crisis, representing God's presence and deliverance from invading kings in a century BC.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Ultimate fulfillment, Matthew one, twenty two through twenty three, applies this text directly to the miraculous virgin birth of Jesus Christ, marking him as the ultimate God with us.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: The second one is the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, the scripture, Joel two, twenty eight through twenty nine, and afterward I will pour out my spirit on all people, your sons and your daughters will prophesy.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Near or initial fulfillment, the apostle Peter quotes this passage on the day of Pentecost in Acts two, sixteen through twenty one, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the early believers.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Ultimate fulfillment.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: The broader context of Joel's prophecy includes cosmic disturbances and the final day of the Lord, pointing forward to an ultimate end times fulfillment before God's final judgment.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: The third example, the coming of Elijah, the Scripture Malachi four five.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: See I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Near fulfillment, Jesus identified John the Baptist as the fulfillment of this prophetic warning in a spiritual sense during his first coming Matthew seventeen, eleven through thirteen.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Ultimate fulfillment.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Many theologians see a future final fulfillment where an Elijah like figure or event precedes the terrifying and glorious second coming of Christ.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: In the final example, the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the age, the Scripture Matthew twenty four, fifteen through twenty one, the Olivet Discourse, speaking of the abomination of desolation in a time of unequal tribulation.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Near fulfillment, partially and historically fulfilled in seventy AD when the Roman armies besieged and destroyed Jerusalem and the Second Temple.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Ultimate fulfillment, viewed by many prophecy scholars as a type or forerunner, pointing to a final global tribulation period leading up to the literal return of Jesus.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: And without date setting, this could happen within the next ten to fifteen years, based on biblical time frames.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Our next word Eagle's wings.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, Eagle's wings is a powerful metaphor, symbolizing divine deliverance, protective care, and spiritual renewal rather than a literal anatomical definition.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Some key passages Divine Deliverance and Rescue Exodus nineteen four.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: God tells the Israelites at Mount Sinai, You have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Here the imagery represents God swiftly and powerfully lifting his people out of the bondage of slavery in Egypt and bringing them to safety.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Tender protection and nurturing Deuteronomy thirty two eleven.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Moses compares God's care to an angel that stirs up its nests and hovers over its young, and spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on his pinions.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: This pictures a parent bird guiding and protecting its young, teaching them to fly while ensuring that they do not fall.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Spiritual strength and renewal Isaiah forty thirty one.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: The Prophet Isaiah writes But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: This signifies that individuals who trust in God receive supernatural strength, allowing them to rise above life's heavy burdens, soar past obstacles, and persevere without growing weary.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Divine Refuge Revelation twelve fourteen.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: The symbol returns in the New Testament when the woman was given two wings of a great eagle to fly from the presence of the serpent to her place in the wilderness, signifying God provided a rapid, secure escape and shelter during a time of intense trial.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss eagle's wings are as follows Exodus nineteen four.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: God reminds the Israelites of how he delivered them from Egypt, carrying them on eagle's wings to himself, symbolizing care and safety.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Isaiah forty thirty one, a promise that those who hope in the Lord will soar on wings like eagles, receiving renewed strength to run and not grow weary.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Deuteronomy thirty two eleven uses this imagery of an eagle hovering over and carrying its young on its pinion as a metaphor for God's protection and guidance, even when pushing his people out of comfort.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Revelation twelve fourteen The woman is given the wings of a great eagle to fly to a place of safety, symbolizing divine rescue.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Daniel seven four features a prophetic vision of a lion like creature with eagle's wings, where the wings denote speed and majesty.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Our next statement is twenty four elders.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: One of the interpretations of the twenty four elders is that twelve of them represented the leaders of the tribes of Israel, and twelve represented the apostles of Jesus Christ.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: This is in fact an error.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: The twenty four elders in the Bible are heavenly figures seated on thrones around God's throne in the book of Revelation.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Another common interpretation by theologians is that they represent the entire redeemed people of God, a church of old and New Testament believers.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: I also disagree with that one.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: I recently read where it makes more sense that they represent a different group of people, but this is not the message to go into that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: The biblical definition, first appearance, introduced in Revelation four, where John sees twenty four thrones surrounding God's throne.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Appearance, they wear white garments, symbolizing righteousness and redemption, the golden crowns, or victors' crowns on their heads.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Action, they worship God, fall before the Lamb, that is Jesus, sing praises, and offer golden bowls of incense, representing the prayers of God's holy people.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Revelation five, eight.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Some key interpretations, some of which we've already discussed.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: The complete church or redeemed humanity.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Most scholars believe that they represent human believers rather than angels.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: The Greek word for elder is never used for angels in scripture, and angels are not promised thrones, ruling authority, or victors crowns.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Twelve tribes plus twelve apostles.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: The number twenty four is widely seen as a combination of the twelve tribes of Israel, Old Covenant, and the twelve apostles, new covenant, symbolizing the unity and fullness of God's people across all areas.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: A heavenly priesthood.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: The twenty four elders may symbolize a royal heavenly priesthood engaged in perpetual worship.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: So now you've heard all three interpretations you get to decide.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: I choose a heavenly priesthood, it just makes more sense.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Some scriptures that discuss the twenty four elders in the Bible are as follows.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Revelation four four introduces the elders sitting on twenty four surrounding thrones, dressed in white garments with golden crowns on their heads.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Revelation four ten through eleven describes the elders falling down to worship God on the throne and casting their crowns before him.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Revelation five, eight through ten shows the elders holding harps and golden bowls of incense, representing prayers, singing a new song to praise a lamb for redeeming people from every tribe and nation.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Revelation seven eleven places the elders falling on their faces before the throne to worship God alongside the angels and living creatures.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Revelation eleven sixteen through eighteen records the twenty four elders sitting on their thrones, worshiping God after the sounding of the seventh trumpet.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Revelation fourteen three mentions the elders standing near the throne and the four living creatures while a new song is sung.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Revelation nineteen four depicts the elders falling down to worship God as the final judgment is proclaimed over Babylon.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: What do they represent?
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: The redeemed church, symbolizing the complete body of God's people, combining the twelve tribes and the twelve apostles of the New Testament, or heavenly beings, a specialized order of celestial or priestly attendance surrounding God's throne.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Since the Bible is not clear, we just want to hold on to these ideas loosely so that we're not surprised when we find out it doesn't mean that this is the twelve tribes or the twelve apostles sitting up there on thrones.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Our next statement is end of the days.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, the end of days or last days refers to the final period of human history leading up to the physical return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of God's eternal kingdom.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: You know, and I want to just say something right here.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: When you really consider that, it really is mind blowing.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: The end of days, that means life as we know it in all of existence on earth will come to an end.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: And if you've lived any time on earth, you know that that's probably a really good thing because we have had perpetual wars since the beginning of time, and we're not doing very good with the environment.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: In other words, we're not really taking care of the planet as we should, and we treat humanity like their disposable commodities to fulfill our own personal lusts.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Anyways, the New Heaven and New Earth plan sounds really good when you understand that this time is going to end and it's going to happen fairly soon.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: The biblical meanings, the church age, inauguration, according to the New Testament, the last days began during the first century with the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Christians believe they have been living in this era for roughly or nearly two thousand years.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: When the end of that two thousand years comes, by the way, the rapture will occur, and the seven year tribulation will begin.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: There may be a gap in between the rapture and the seven year tribulation, but the seven year tribulation will happen fairly soon after the church is taken out of the way.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Spiritual and moral decline.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: The Bible characterizes these days as difficult times marked by widespread selfishness, greed, disobedience, and a rejection of spiritual truth.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Second Timothy three.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: We're already seeing this on this planet.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: The tribulation.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Prophetic books like Daniel and Revelation point to a future, intense, seven year period of global trouble, judgment, and testing on earth.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Physical return of Christ.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: The climax of the end of days is the visible triumph, second coming of Jesus Christ to defeat evil, to judge the world, and renew creation.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Some scriptural terms latter days or last days used across Old and New Testament passages like Genesis forty nine one and Acts two seventeen to describe what God will do in the final era of human history.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: End of the age refers to the transition from the current fallen world system into the age of God's ultimate reign.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Some supporting scriptures for the end of days are as follows Matthew twenty four and Mark thirteen.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: Known as the Olivet Discourse, Jesus outlines signs of the end of the age, including wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets, and the great tribulation.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Luke 21 5 through 36 details signs preceding the end and urges believers to stay watchful and prayerful.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: The Pauline Epistles, that is the books written by Paul.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: 2 Timothy 3 1 through 5 describes the difficult moral conditions and attitudes of the people in the last days.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: 1 Thessalonians 4 13 through 18 explains the return of the Lord and the resurrection of believers.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: 2 Thessalonians 2, 1 through 4 discusses the day of the Lord and the rise of the man of lawlessness, that is the Antichrist.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Old Testament prophecy, Daniel 12, 1 through 4, speaks of a time of unprecedented trouble, the deliverance of God's people, and the resurrection of the dead.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: General Epistles and Revelation, 2 Peter 3, 3 through 12 warns about scoffers who deny the second coming and describes the southern day of the Lord.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: In the Book of Revelation, the final book of the Bible details apocalyptic visions, final judgments, and the promise of a new heaven and a new earth.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Well that's it for today.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Remember, it's not what you find wrong or disagree with regarding these messages, but what you can take away from it.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: Together we can do more to impact the kingdom than if we work alone.
