- 0:28Speaker 2: It's two o'clock, right, two to three?
- 0:31Speaker 3: What wonder three?
- 0:32Speaker 1: Three?
- 0:32Speaker 2: It's one to three, it's three o'clock. That is two o'clock.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Now it's one o'clock. Pretty soon you're gonna be out
- 0:38Speaker 2: all day one o'clock to three o'clock. How are you? Mark?
- 0:42Speaker 2: I don't get up before two o'clock on Saturday, So
- 0:44Speaker 2: that's why confuse.
- 0:46Speaker 3: That must mean you have a great Friday night.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the idea. So hey, let me ask you something.
- 0:52Speaker 2: You are your politician who's now doing a radio show.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Of course you for years before that had a big
- 0:57Speaker 2: radio career. But there's another politician who doing a radio
- 1:00Speaker 2: show on the weekends. Your old buddy Andrew Cuoma. Have
- 1:04Speaker 2: you heard this show?
- 1:07Speaker 3: I try not to. Oh my god, you got the
- 1:10Speaker 3: most irritating voice. Who would put that voice on a
- 1:14Speaker 3: talk radio show? Oh my god?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well, it's he's an ex governor. But you're right, it's
- 1:20Speaker 2: it's like a ponderous lecture. He's like everybody's a student
- 1:23Speaker 2: and he's got to lecture you. You debated this guy.
- 1:26Speaker 2: What did you think when you were debating him about
- 1:29Speaker 2: that style?
- 1:30Speaker 1: God, you know, it's I honestly, I just want to
- 1:32Speaker 1: take a sharp object and shove it in my ears
- 1:34Speaker 1: so I don't have to listen to him. It's just
- 1:36Speaker 1: so brutal, and that cadence and that I don't even
- 1:41Speaker 1: know what kind of accent is it. It's not I
- 1:44Speaker 1: know it's from Queen's but I don't even know what
- 1:46Speaker 1: kind of accent he has.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, the only guy born in America, grew
- 1:50Speaker 2: up in New York. It has a foreign accent. What
- 1:52Speaker 2: the And then he does that thing where he asked
- 1:56Speaker 2: himself questions, now, no, no, why do I say that? Well?
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's a philosopher. Yeah he's he's Socrates Andrew.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And then he talked to you like you're a moron,
- 2:09Speaker 2: he said, And we don't. It's a violation. Now, what
- 2:13Speaker 2: do we mean when we say violation.
- 2:17Speaker 3: He's like a professor. Could you imagine having him paying
- 2:20Speaker 3: for him to go tell you about the world?
- 2:24Speaker 2: And uh so, but uh like during his years, three
- 2:31Speaker 2: people ran against him. Didn't you come closer than anybody?
- 2:34Speaker 2: I think you did, right, I did?
- 2:36Speaker 3: Other than Lee? Well, yeah, yeah, that's true. I mean
- 2:38Speaker 3: Lee didn't run against him, but yes I did. But
- 2:41Speaker 3: you know it wasn't enough. But we we've been proven
- 2:44Speaker 3: right on just about every issue we talked about.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Then he looked at everybody lie to us and looked,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know, talk down to us. And in that time,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know, everyone has gotten the hell out of there.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm actually I'm talking to you right now from Dallas.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'm in Texas, have been for six days now. I
- 3:02Speaker 1: was covering this Texas Republican primary, which is pretty interesting.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But it's such a different way of life now. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: know you, Mark, You're like, I hate Florida.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Bye, I love you. The thing about it. I feel like,
- 3:15Speaker 3: for six days I shouldn't have to pay income taxes
- 3:17Speaker 3: in New York because there's no taxes where I am.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Right now, everything is like, you know, normally priced. The
- 3:23Speaker 3: people are nice.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I was driving the other day, literally the speed limit
- 3:29Speaker 1: is eighty and I'm driving ninety and I'm like, everyone's
- 3:35Speaker 1: passing me.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I love it. Okay, Okay, there's no taxes. You't gonna
- 3:40Speaker 2: drive ninety. That's great, but you're missing five hundred thousand
- 3:43Speaker 2: things that are in New York that aren't there.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I was walking around yesterday. Now I'm literally in
- 3:51Speaker 3: downtown Dallas, and it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Was like five o'clock at night, rush hour, and I
- 3:57Speaker 1: could have just walked across each eat with my eyes
- 4:00Speaker 1: closed and I would not have.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Been in danger of being hit by a car. And
- 4:05Speaker 3: I was just thinking about that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Like, in New York, no matter what time, you better
- 4:09Speaker 1: look all over the place because either a scooter's gonna
- 4:12Speaker 1: hit you, a Cabby's gonna hit you, an uber is
- 4:14Speaker 1: gonna hit you, a guy is gonna hit you with
- 4:16Speaker 1: a hammer, you know whatever.
- 4:18Speaker 3: But here, it's such a different world. It really and
- 4:21Speaker 3: truly is. It's they they do have everything here.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But it's not good for you. It's not good for you.
- 4:30Speaker 2: You know, you want to Hey, you're gonna get older
- 4:32Speaker 2: down there, you know. You cross the street and everything's
- 4:34Speaker 2: coming at you and you got a duck and dodge.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It keeps you young, it keeps you active, It keeps.
- 4:39Speaker 3: You quick on your feet.
- 4:39Speaker 2: You're right. You ever see those old people the way
- 4:41Speaker 2: they walk in Florida?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Uh?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Here in New York the old guy will knock you
- 4:45Speaker 2: over in New Yorker.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, No, I don't do the shuffle thing. But
- 4:50Speaker 3: you got to learn that when you get to Florida,
- 4:51Speaker 3: and you got to learn.
- 4:52Speaker 1: How to basically have your head just to bolt just
- 4:56Speaker 1: below the steering wheel and drives thirty in the left fo.
- 5:00Speaker 3: On ninety five. Yes, that's what you got to do
- 5:01Speaker 3: when you get to Florida.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Hey, speaking of Texas, so why is it why the
- 5:05Speaker 2: Republicans having a tough time in Texas in these races.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Well, it's a three way primary. Cornyon, who's the incumbent
- 5:12Speaker 1: senator here is going for a fifth term, and Ken Paxton,
- 5:15Speaker 1: who's the Attorney general really loved by Maga. It's a
- 5:20Speaker 1: three way race. But it looks like Paxson's gonna win it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But you got to get over fifty percent. So now
- 5:24Speaker 1: if he doesn't, which you probably won't, there'll be a
- 5:26Speaker 1: primary runoff. They've already spent one hundred million dollars wasted,
- 5:32Speaker 1: and then they're gonna have to do it again one
- 5:34Speaker 1: hundred million probably, you know, in the next two months.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And all this money could have been spent around the
- 5:40Speaker 1: country for other Republicans. But Crockett, you know, the lunatic
- 5:44Speaker 1: on the left. She's running in the Democratic primary here,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and it's an open primary, so people can vote in
- 5:49Speaker 1: either party. You have Republicans who are crossing over and
- 5:52Speaker 1: voting for Crockett because they want her. They want her
- 5:56Speaker 1: to be the Democratic nominee because that'll basically lock it
- 5:59Speaker 1: up in November.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you've been through this process. The primary is still
- 6:03Speaker 2: a good idea, right, It's better than the the boss
- 6:06Speaker 2: is picking a candidate, isn't it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah. No, Look, it would be very hypocritical of me
- 6:10Speaker 1: because the bosses picked somebody, you know, the Zelden in
- 6:13Speaker 1: twenty twenty two, and I and Andrew Giuliani and Harry
- 6:16Speaker 1: Wilson ran a primary, you know, And I'm totally fine
- 6:20Speaker 1: with that. That's the process, and I think, you know,
- 6:22Speaker 1: the party, the party people, actually the voters should be
- 6:25Speaker 1: able to pick their candidates.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Rob Baster and let me just ask you a
- 6:30Speaker 2: county executive question. It's it's pothole season. I start to
- 6:34Speaker 2: see these potholes opening up. Now, what is That's because
- 6:36Speaker 2: the at the end of winter, the ice, the freezing,
- 6:39Speaker 2: the salt, everything ruined. The roads creates these potholes.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it expands, it contracts. It's just you know, the
- 6:46Speaker 3: plows just destroy everything. The curbs get all ripped up.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So yeah that.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Oh but wait a minute, if you're in Texas, they
- 6:53Speaker 3: don't do that the roads. Let me just look at
- 6:55Speaker 3: the oh the roads look okay, actually.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's because there's no traffic. But hey,
- 7:03Speaker 2: if there was a pothole in the driveway at mar
- 7:05Speaker 2: A Lago an hour later, it would be filled and fixed.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So why can't governments do that?
- 7:11Speaker 1: Because government is supposed to be on a good day,
- 7:16Speaker 1: just below average, on a normal day, just completely an addition.
- 7:21Speaker 3: That's the way it's based.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you can't it be like a pothole
- 7:25Speaker 2: truck just going around filling them wherever they it is.
- 7:28Speaker 3: In fact, the other night when I was driving, I
- 7:30Speaker 3: was in Houston. I had to drive up to Fort Worth, right,
- 7:32Speaker 3: so it's like a three and a half.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Hour drive, and I'm on I forty five going up
- 7:38Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, I look and there are
- 7:41Speaker 1: there's a caravan of construction trucks ahead of me. And
- 7:45Speaker 1: I stayed in this caravan for about ten miles or
- 7:49Speaker 1: almost forty five minutes going eight miles an hour, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: then some rock hit me and I have a like
- 7:55Speaker 1: a seven inch you.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Know, boom right in my windshield. It's a crack. That'll
- 8:00Speaker 3: be fun when I go to rent a car.
- 8:02Speaker 2: All right, Well, hey, we're almost out of time. So
- 8:05Speaker 2: you were the Republican candidate for government that came very close,
- 8:07Speaker 2: leez Eldon came very close. What about Bruce Blakeman, Well,
- 8:11Speaker 2: he'd be the greatest governor. Does he have a good shot.
- 8:14Speaker 3: He's got a shot, there's no question.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And you know what the biggest sleeper issue it's not crime, okay,
- 8:19Speaker 1: because there's a lot of people in the suburbs.
- 8:21Speaker 3: They don't feel unsafe, Okay.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 1: The big issue, the sleeper issue that affects everybody is energy.
- 8:28Speaker 3: High costs. High electricity costs. They're going crazy, They're going
- 8:31Speaker 3: to get higher. I think it's a really big crossover
- 8:33Speaker 3: issue for him.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and most of that was caused by Cuomo and Hokel.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Absolutely yeah, yep.
- 8:39Speaker 3: And there's the Green New Deal in New York closing
- 8:41Speaker 3: Indian point.
- 8:42Speaker 2: All right, well, rob Astrino, great stuff, and everybody can
