- 0:20Dayna Roselli: And we will also discuss Las Vegas' dip in tourism.
- 0:24Dayna Roselli: We know y'all want to hear our thoughts.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: All this and more coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:29Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed, presented by Galindo Law, starts now.
- 0:34Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 282.
- 0:36Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here, and our inbox is full of so many deals and specials that I can't even keep track anymore, Sean.
- 0:45Sean McAllister: Well, you know what happens when uh business needs to be drummed up?
- 0:50Sean McAllister: That's when you start getting really good deals.
- 0:52Sean McAllister: Right.
- 0:53Sean McAllister: And this is actually a really good time to come to Las Vegas because people have been talking for months, if not a couple years now, about the value proposition in Las Vegas and how people have felt like maybe they weren't getting as much value as they used to on their Vegas vacation.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: Well, guess what?
- 1:13Sean McAllister: The value's coming back right now.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: So take advantage of it when you can get it.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's hard because some of the like deals, like you start reading and you're going, wait, wait, so what do I do?
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: Like there's all these instructions.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: So you do need to take some time to dive in, read what you need to do.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: A lot of it's like, especially if you're like a local and you're taking advantage of a deal.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: It's, you know, have your Nevada ID and then you get this, this, and this.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: But there's a lot of reading to do out there, but you could plan something really good, whether it's a staycation or like you mentioned, coming in from out of town, there's deals for visitors as well.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: So well, and we were talking uh before we even started the podcast.
- 1:53Sean McAllister: There are tons of airfare deals right now, too.
- 1:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, I've never had so many emails with constant sales, right?
- 2:01Sean McAllister: Not only good rates, but the perks while you're on board.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: I'm getting free Wi-Fi on Southwest next week randomly.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: Great.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because I'm a Rapid Rewards member.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: I feel like every I mean, I'm a big Southwest person because it's a popular route to my hometown, but I mean, they never have pushed 40% off, 20% off, not this often, 30% off.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: I can't keep up.
- 2:25Sean McAllister: It's like back to back.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: Back to back to back to back.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: What is so obviously uh travels down across the board, across the globe, and we know that.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: But let's talk about Las Vegas because it's obviously such a hot topic right now.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, there's that whole trend.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: Vegas is dead.
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: We've talked about it before.
- 2:43Dayna Roselli: Um, but I guess we should hit it again because you know, new numbers are out and it's showing, you know, things are clearly down, but I don't know.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: I guess we want to talk about our take.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: Well, and at least give some perspective to where we are now and look at it in a historical uh context because I bef I went to the LVC VA website and they have a great uh interactive graph that tracks visitor volume to Las Vegas.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: It goes all the way back to January 1980, and you can zoom in on any specific time period in there, and it will show you month by month uh the number of visitors who came to Las Vegas.
- 3:31Sean McAllister: And I'm looking at the current chunk of time that we're in right now, at least the last what uh six months is what we have numbers for from January uh up until June.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: And we're still getting uh at least uh three million visitors every single month in Las Vegas.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: You compare that to last year, uh we were getting like the baseline was about three and a half million, and it went up to three point seven million uh on the high end.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: But that's what we're talking about.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: I mean, yes, that is a significant number of people.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: Uh the big picture that aren't coming so far this year, but but we're still getting three million plus visitors every single month.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and you almost wonder because hotel occupancy is down to 66.7%.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: I think it was July.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: And then if you look at the year before in July, it was in the 80s, right?
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: So I'm wondering if you know, if people are are coming, if we're seeing like visitor numbers, you know, down, but not as bad, like maybe people are being more budget friendly and like sharing rooms.
- 4:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, they very well may.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: Going with four of your friends, maybe before you used to get three rooms.
- 4:48Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: Maybe now you're like, hey, two queen beds, and we're in.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Because I've done that before.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: I went to Baja Mar with three friends, and my friend had a deal for a free room because he's a big gambler.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: He's like, you guys are welcome to stay in our room, and we're like, let's do it.
- 5:03Sean McAllister: You know, because roll in a cot, use the pullout couch.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: We had, yeah, two queen beds.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I'll sleep with staff, I don't care.
- 5:10Sean McAllister: Listen, I mean, I think that that probably could be happening a lot more than it has in the past.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that would affect occupancy, right?
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Absolutely.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Because it would be, you know, lower room numbers.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: But then you look online at some of the videos of people waiting in check-in lines.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: But again, we've talked about in the past, like maybe they don't have as much staff behind the desk and it's going, it's slower.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: So it's really hard to indicate what the deal is as far as what you're seeing on social media.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: But you know, now we have, you know, hardcore numbers.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: However, um, there's still a lot of people coming to Las Vegas, and like we mentioned, travel is down.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: This is a headline in cities across the globe.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: We were just in uh you and I were in uh Napa for a friend's wedding uh last week, and I went and did a wine tasting and was talking with uh And you weren't you the only people in there for the tasting?
- 6:04Sean McAllister: We were the only people in there, yeah.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: It was like we had an exclusive uh tasting to ourselves.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: And I said to the guy, like that's rare for Napa in the summer.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: It was.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: And I said to him, I was like, is this uh unusual to just have us in here?
- 6:19Sean McAllister: Because it was a Saturday, it was a Saturday morning because we were flying out Saturday night.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: Um and he said, you know what?
- 6:28Sean McAllister: Things have been uh really uh slow lately.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: And I said, So okay, so Napa is just like any other town that uh relies on tourism to bring people in.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: And he said, Oh, absolutely.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: The one thing he did say is that over the past couple years, the hotels in Napa have about doubled their uh uh nightly room rate.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: So he was like, So they can operate at 50% capacity now and still be taking in the same amount of money they did a couple years ago because they jacked up the rates.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: I think that's happening a lot.
- 7:05Sean McAllister: It is, it's happening in just about every tourist city that you see.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: And there's other headlines out there, and just even just for things like my nail salon, the prices went up.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: You know, like things are like going up, you know.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: So, um, but that is interesting.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: In the resort we were at, by the way, we were at the Meritage Resort, absolutely stunning.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: Loved that property.
- 7:23Dayna Roselli: If you visit Napa, they had everything on site.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: I love that you like literally never had to leave unless you wanted to go do a wine tour, wine tour.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, pools, restaurants, uh courtyards, a little grocery store.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: Multiple tasting rooms right on site.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Um, but I was able to check in early because she said we're not full, you know.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: Go ahead.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: But, you know, there were plenty of people there and everything was open and running.
- 7:49Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I wonder, you know, occupancy is down probably across the board for a lot of these cities, that's for sure.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Um, then let's talk about the Backstreet Boys effect in Las Vegas.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Because I had sent you a thread and somebody said, um, I never expected the Backstreet Boys to say Vegas.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: Um, because let me tell you, people are coming in in droves and using restaurants, hotels, all that to go see the Backstreet Boys at Sphere.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: They sure are.
- 8:20Sean McAllister: We've seen this effect before.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: Uh Celine Dion with her show when she was over at Caesars Palace.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: People internationally flooded Las Vegas to go and see her shows, which were uh just about every single show of hers was sold out.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: Then when Britney Spears opened at Planet Hollywood in 2013, her show ran there until end of 2017, and it was the same kind of thing.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: There was a a visible uh boost in boost in tourism for people who were going to see Britney's show.
- 8:55Sean McAllister: I mean, do you remember what it was like in Planet Hollywood when uh people were all the Britney fans were coming in before one of her shows?
- 9:03Sean McAllister: It was flooded.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: The casino floor was flooded with Britney t-shirts, the miracle mile shops were flooded with Britney fans.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: Well, and that's how you can tell because the backstreet boys encourage everyone to wear white.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: So when you're walking around, you know who's there for the backstreet boys.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: Sure do.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: So I went to Lavo the other day.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: Um, I went out to dinner with a friend.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: We wanted to go out and celebrate her birthday, and I actually had a lot um a Tau Group gift certificate that I've been meaning to use.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: I've had it for like a year.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: My brother gave it to me for like Christmas or something.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: So I wanted to go to a Tau Group restaurant, and uh I could not, first of all, I couldn't get a reservation uh the night before at Tau Bistro at the Venetian at the times I wanted.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: There were reservations available at like 10 p.m.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: Early or super late.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there wasn't even early for that one.
- 9:51Dayna Roselli: I think Beauty in Essex was booked too at Cosmo, and I love Lavo, so we went to Lavo, but even that, there was a 4 p.m.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: and then I think a 7:30 p.m.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: available.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: So I was telling my friend, like, want to go to early dinner?
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: And she's like, Yeah, then we can just chill and take our time.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: Like, and we were there for like three hours.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: She's right, it was so great to kind of catch up and slowly have dinner.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: But my point is, I was like, but if there's no reservations in between 4 and 7:30, that means we're not gonna be the only ones in the restaurant.
- 10:19Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 10:19Dayna Roselli: So it's not gonna be.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: So let me tell you, Sean, the place was absolutely full.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: I couldn't even believe it.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: I'm looking around at 5:30.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: The whole restaurant was full.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: And a lot of people were wearing white.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: I stopped at a table.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: I said, You're going to the backstreet boys, and they were like, Yes.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: And this one guy was like, I'm excited about it, really.
- 10:37Dayna Roselli: I loved the Backstreet Boys, and even though he was with his wife and two, he's like, We're into it.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: But then I went out to look at the new Wizard of Oz display in the atrium at Palazzo, and I was looking at people coming down the escalators and everything.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: Everyone's in white.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: And I'm thinking the Backstreet Boys, it's an econom, it's an economic boost.
- 10:57Sean McAllister: I mean, for like it really is, and like even though you know numbers are down here, it could have been worse.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: I feel like the Backstreet Boys have helped keep it alive.
- 11:07Sean McAllister: They have, and it's a it's I I forget who we we were uh talking with about this, but it's like an a whole nostalgia thing.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: That people are like, oh my gosh, this is the music of my youth.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: I'm now an adult and you know, doing all my adulting things back home.
- 11:26Sean McAllister: I want to go and relive my youth again.
- 11:29Sean McAllister: Let's rev that machine back up.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: So true.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: And I think also, you know, adding the sphere in, like you were saying, some people I notice a lot of people on TikTok doing their change of outfits.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: It's like a thing.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: And I love everyone's into it.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: But a lot of people are saying this was the best concert experience of my lifetime.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: And it's because of the sphere.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: And what the Backstreet Boys have created this show for inside the sphere and the visuals and all of it.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: So I mean, it's an experience.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: And I do I feel bad because, you know, yeah, like some of these shows, like, you know, tickets are expensive and it's not for everyone.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: Maybe a lot of locals haven't even been able to go and experience it yet.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: So you'll have your moment, but it, you know, and a lot of people want to go when it's someone that they really like.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: And so I get it.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: Like you're saving up for that moment.
- 12:14Sean McAllister: And that's what it should be.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:16Sean McAllister: If you're gonna spend more on the the ticket to go and see an artist there, make sure it's an artist that that you really love.
- 12:24Sean McAllister: And make sure that you uh that that experience is gonna be something that that you find valuable for the ticket price.
- 12:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:31Dayna Roselli: And some of the ticket prices are not more expensive than if you were to go to a stadium or an arena for some of these artists.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, you're getting so much more.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: The whole experience is something.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: So if you're questioning whether you should pull the trigger, I mean, if it's something that you want to see, you are going to love it.
- 12:51Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 12:51Sean McAllister: The answer is yes.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: Do it.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: So um, you know, Vegas is not dead.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: That restaurant was full on a Saturday at 5:30.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: Um, we've talked about it before.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: We've seen a lot of places busy.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: Someone answered me, I think, on Threads or Twitter and said, Yeah, I was at, I forget what off-strip restaurant on Saturdays.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: Well, the whole thing was packed.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Um, our off-strip restaurants are keeping busy.
- 13:14Sean McAllister: The off-strip casinos are absolutely packed.
- 13:16Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 13:17Sean McAllister: The station casinos packed.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:20Sean McAllister: The I mean, really, you pick whatever off-strip place.
- 13:25Sean McAllister: Like locals are still going in.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they are.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: We went to the JW Marriott.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: We're gonna have that episode next week when we interviewed uh Chef Fabio over there who just opened a new restaurant, and Vivi Fabio Viviani.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: Um, but we were noticing as we were eating dinner that there were tons of people to even picking up food.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: Like it was.
- 13:45Sean McAllister: Oh, the to-go, the to-go bags from the the front desk were just one after another after another.
- 13:52Sean McAllister: And that's on top of uh we got there, we were there early and sat down for uh an early meal, and we watched the restaurant fill up in real time.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:03Sean McAllister: And it was, I even said to Chef before we left, I was like, This is a gotta make you happy.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: You have a full restaurant.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: And he said, eh, make me happy.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: He's great.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: Let's tell your friends, let's keep it that way.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you'll have to listen to that interview next week.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: It's very entertaining.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: He's great.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, I just feel like we've noticed so much stuff.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: Hey, another quick note on uh Tau Group restaurants.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: I did download the Tau Group app because when I was looking for the gift certificate in my email, I came across a press release that they had sent us that there's a lot of specials going on.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: And holy cow, you really do save a lot.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: So I mean, these apps, I know it can be a pain sometimes to download like a lot of apps, but you do save money by downloading some apps and taking advantage of.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: So I handed in, so you show your app at the end and they write down a code, and now they dumped a bunch of points in my Tau Group app, and I have$40 off next time I go to any of them.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: So you get like rewards for dining at these places.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: Rewards.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: And the first time you go after you download the app, you get$25 off.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: So I got$25 off.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: It was$50 or more, which we spent over$50.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: Um, so I got$25 off, and then they took my check and ran it through, and I got a certain amount of points, and now it says I have$40 worth.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: So there are a lot of it can be, I know, annoying to keep downloading apps.
- 15:31Sean McAllister: But that's an incentive to go back.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: You earn 25% back in restaurants.
- 15:36Dayna Roselli: Um Wow.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: You know, for the it was like May through, I think it goes through like I forget, like it's maybe September right now, but you can see, oh no, I'm up to 65 bucks.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: So I must not that must have been when I cleared, and then maybe I got more rewards for leaving a good tip because that's that what did say 40 before.
- 15:54Dayna Roselli: But yeah, 65 bucks in rewards.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: I think right.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: You earn 25% back all summer um and then$25 welcome reward for my second visit.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: So now I'm gonna get$25 again,$25 off your first$50 visit, and then it shows you when these expire.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: Holy mackerel, I need to download this right now.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: It's it's really good.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: So anyway, as we were saying, there are ways to save money.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: You kind of got to look around.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: Or listen to Vegas Revealed.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: Listen to Vegas Revealed.
- 16:28Dayna Roselli: Um, but you know, let us know your take.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: You can always text us.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: We do have a link in our show notes where you can send us a text if you're curious about something, if you want us to hit um or address something that has to do with Vegas tourism.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: People are still coming in.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: The airport, we were both at the airport.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: You know, one day it was kind of busy, another day it was busier, some days it's slower.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: It just kind of depends.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: We we have conferences in town and conventions, depends what's happening.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: When I flew out, I was on the the very top floor back corner of long-term parking at the airport.
- 17:03Sean McAllister: So the parking structure was full.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was at capacity.
- 17:08Sean McAllister: Um, now I know that that's not a direct correlation to visitors to Las Vegas because a lot of locals are parking there to go do whatever they're doing.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: But uh we'll stay on top of these uh travel trends and what's going on as new numbers come out.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: We'll keep you updated.
- 17:28Sean McAllister: But the bottom line, Vegas is not dead.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: It is not there are ebbs and flows throughout the span of a week of uh busy times and slow times.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: And if you look historically, I encourage you to go to the uh Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authorities website.
- 17:48Sean McAllister: They have a research tab that you can click on that brings up this graph that I'm looking at again right now, and taking the bird's eye view uh at where we are now compared to even back to it is far back to 1980, like I said before.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: It just give it puts things in perspective, and it's good to have perspective, especially when you're being blasted by headlines and social media posts that are telling you that the world is ending.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: And listen, I just want to know hey, I think we're all frustrated with price increases anytime.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: Oh, without.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: And have prices gone up?
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Yes, they have.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: Have there been, you know, things that have get been thrown in there?
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: You know, we talk all the time about paid parking.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Yes, it always used to be free.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: It wasn't a question, it's frustrating.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: All of that, but um, you know, it's kind of across the board.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: I it's nice to see some of the casinos and hotels lifting, you know, the parking um fees.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: And I hope it stays that way.
- 18:50Dayna Roselli: Um, it's hard because people are parking in certain garages.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: You know, you got to think also like they're parking in certain garages to walk to other things, and sometimes those hotels want to keep it.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: People who are gonna be in that hotel and business on property, but like we say all the time, like, you know, all of Vegas helps Vegas.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: Just like when new casinos open, it helps the one next door, you know.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: So I mean, I think we need to keep that feeling, you know, going.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Hey, quick, I keep going.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: Remember, we talked about Steve Wynn's Instagram?
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: Yes, we just posted today a picture of him in front of the Bellagio.
- 19:27Sean McAllister: Oh, in the boat.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: I saw that come up on my I scrolled past it.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: I didn't stop to like take in and savor the post.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: But since our podcast, Steve Wynn's Instagram has gained 5,100 or no, sorry, 5,100 followers.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: So I feel like it's the Vegas Revealed effect.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: People might not have known Steve Wynn had an Instagram.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: Now, it's not all us, it's because Steve's posting more and all that, and maybe people are sharing it.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: But I think we had a little something to do with that.
- 19:55Sean McAllister: Look at that.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: So he's he's posting some Vegas nostalgia.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Keep going, Mr.
- 20:00Sean McAllister: Wynne.
- 20:01Sean McAllister: We like the posts.
- 20:02Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, even though we uh you have all these tourism the headlines, whatever, we do still have a ton of uh entertainment announcements flooding our inboxes.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: So we want to run through some of the uh most recent announcements that have come in.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: And you just mentioned uh Win Resort, Dana, and we have Chris Tucker returning to the Encore Theater at Win Las Vegas.
- 20:28Sean McAllister: He has back-to-back performances September 26th and 27th if you're planning a fall visit.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I think this list um that we're gonna mention is a little something for everyone, so it's nice.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: Erica Badou is coming to Resorts World.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: Um, she's doing one night only, but that's October 4th.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: And she's celebrating the 25th anniversary of her second studio studio album called Mama's Gun.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: Um so if you like Erica, definitely get your ticket soon because she's only doing one night at Resorts World.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: She might add shows, who knows?
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: But um good to see Resorts World putting shows in that theater because I've been thinking like, what they don't have much going on there right now, like a regular once Janet leaves.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: So once Janet's done their It'll be interesting to see what they bring in.
- 21:12Sean McAllister: It is.
- 21:13Sean McAllister: But that October 4th and 5th weekend, there's a lot of entertainment happening that weekend.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: Uh also Leona Lewis announced uh a run of shows at Voltaire inside the Venetian.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I thought this was interesting.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: She's doing a lot of shows.
- 21:29Dayna Roselli: She is November 1st to January 3rd.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: She's got 33 performances running.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: Now, um, apparently her show is gonna have a holiday twist, you know, because it's during the holiday season.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: It's called a starry night, and it's a brand new Christmas spectacular.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: I kind of like that.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: I like that too, and I think people like to get in the holiday spirit.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: And we all I think we've even talked on the podcast like we need more Christmas shows.
- 21:56Sean McAllister: We do, yes.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: Or holiday shows, you know, because it's it it.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Just adds a little extra glitz and glam, you know, during that season.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: So it'll be interesting to see uh Leona here in Las Vegas.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: I met her at Matt Goss's opening show at Caesar's Palace.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: I don't even know what year that was, but like maybe 2009.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: Um, I know he's friends with her, and um, she was there and a bunch of other people, Melby, but uh that's the only time I've actually seen her in person.
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: I don't know if she's ever done sh Vegas shows.
- 22:27Sean McAllister: I feel like she may have, I could be wrong on this, but I feel like she came in and was part of the lineup of one of the One Night for OneDrop galas.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: Oh, maybe uh with Cirque du Soleil.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:40Sean McAllister: Uh that they put put on.
- 22:41Sean McAllister: I feel like maybe she was involved in that at some point along the way.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: But it's gonna be good to have Leona back.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: Uh again, Voltaire over at Venetian, a great uh venue.
- 22:52Sean McAllister: Ashley Simpson also doing shows over there, which I believe have sold really well.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, people.
- 22:58Sean McAllister: I think she sold out her shows.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, you can't always get what you want.
- 23:06Sean McAllister: Except when you come to Vegas.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: Starting August 28th, there's a new show for uh Rolling Stones fans.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: It's called the Sin City Stones, and they are known as a Rolling Stones tribute experience, apparently acclaimed the world's greatest Rolling Stones tribute experience, they say.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: Um, but they're doing a debut over at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: And as I said, it starts August 28th, and they will be doing shows Thursdays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: You and I always talk about this.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: We love a good tribute band.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: We sure do.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: Listen, if you like the music of a band, the tribute groups are excellent.
- 23:50Sean McAllister: Well, because you know that the tribute groups are only going to play the hits.
- 23:54Sean McAllister: Right.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: They're not going deep into the archive to pull out obscure song titles.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: They are they're gonna bust out the fan favorites.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: So good.
- 24:05Sean McAllister: That'll be that'll be fun.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: It's at the X Rox Theater at Horseshoe.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: Uh, we have F1 news.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Some headliners have been announced for Formula One Race Weekend.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: Uh T-Pain, MGK, Machine Gun Kelly, and Zed.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: My new bestie.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: Your new bestie.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: You had a moment with him on the American Music Award red carpet.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: He was nice.
- 24:28Sean McAllister: He was nice.
- 24:29Sean McAllister: He's very nice.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we were I don't know why we were surprised, but we were.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: Let's be honest.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 24:35Sean McAllister: He was great.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is the okay, so you just said, sorry, uh, and Zed.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: And they're at the T-Mobile stage.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: And is that where we that's where we saw Ludacris last year?
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, right.
- 24:44Sean McAllister: Right outside Sphere.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 24:45Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:45Sean McAllister: Right on that sharp turn around Sphere, which is it was a great stage.
- 24:51Sean McAllister: That was a great location to watch.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: And so you'll have Zed there November 20th, MGK November 21st, and then T Pain on November 22nd.
- 25:03Sean McAllister: And uh Sophie Tucker also is set to perform.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: And we saw them at the American Music Awards.
- 25:10Sean McAllister: You saw them perform at what was it, Tao Beach?
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Tao Beach.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: Um, they're great.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: I love them.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: They're really, really good.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: Jess Glynn, a lot of different artists coming out, and uh, and they also just announced they're doing that free music festival downtown during the F1 time.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: Right, like they did last year, the Neon City Festival.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so more details will come out about that.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: But um a lot of stuff going on.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: So the stuff keeps rolling out.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: We keep getting invites to new restaurant openings, uh and a lot of them off the strip.
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: But um there are things opening and things going on, that's for sure.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:47Sean McAllister: Oh, go ahead.
- 25:48Dayna Roselli: No, the one thing I was gonna say, you know what we got, and I'm gonna search for it because we had talked about um in a upcoming restaurant TV show that Jose Andres' Bazaar Meet was moving to Venetian and Palazzo and the date just came out.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: It did.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: Here it is.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: September 4th.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: So Bazaar Meet by Jose Andres is opening September 4th at Venetian.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: And uh, I think on the TV show you had mentioned, you heard it's gonna be it's a really big space.
- 26:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, big space, huge wine selection we're hearing.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: That's that was at the is at the Sahara, um, and was at the Sahara, and uh so popular.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Uh so they probably needed more space.
- 26:30Sean McAllister: They're going to do extremely well over there.
- 26:33Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: Uh just bouncing back to Formula One for just one second, uh single-day tickets for the 2025 race have also uh just been released starting at 125 bucks.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: So that gives you access to fanzone with entertainment.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: Um that's good.
- 26:52Sean McAllister: That there are concessions available.
- 26:55Sean McAllister: The food and beverage is not included in the ticket price, though.
- 26:58Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 26:59Sean McAllister: There are other packages that do include food and beverage, but 125 bucks, I feel like that's one of the best prices we've seen so far.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, now I'm gonna go side note.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: We just keep side noting.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: See, we don't really script the show.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: We have like an outline and then it goes in a million directions.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: Um, I was thinking about doing disco show by Spiegelworld for my birthday, but anyway, I went on and looked at they have a lot of great group packages, by the way.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: Um, they have this new ticket for 125 bucks.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: You get the show and two drinks.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: I feel like that's pretty good, right?
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: So FYI, um disco show is a lot of fun to do with a group of friends, and we can dive more into that at another time.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: But I was like, that's a good deal.
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: They have other packages too that even include like I think like a like uh food at Diner Ross or you know, all sorts of different things.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I thought that was a good deal.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: I was I was glad to see that.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: I was like, this makes sense.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: I like these package ideas because then you go in knowing, like, I'm gonna get two drinks, I'm gonna here's my ticket price, you know.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: It it I mean, because tickets were$99 or$79 in the past, I think$99.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: Um, so two drinks for$25.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: That's that's pretty good.
- 28:13Sean McAllister: That's a good deal.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: So, like we mentioned at the top of the show, not only are shows doing uh deals and packages, but resorts are as well.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: So just keep an eye out, look for the deals and come visit us.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: You know why I was thinking of Disco show?
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Because we had such a fun time dancing at Casey and Mark's wedding.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: We okay, so you guys, as we mentioned at the top of the show, we went to Napa for this wedding.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: It's just so nice.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: First of all, a lot of people from Vegas were there in the industry.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Mark actually writes for People magazine.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: So um the we it was so nice to hang out and it not be like a worky thing and to just be there as like people, people, and not as like colleagues or and we danced the night away, didn't we?
- 29:00Sean McAllister: Have never, literally, never danced more in my life.
- 29:05Sean McAllister: I think all of my inhibitions went out the window.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: I'm usually like a shoulder bop kind of guy, yeah, but I went all in.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: Sean, my Fitbit tracked dancing.
- 29:16Sean McAllister: Oh no.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: As a workout.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: It did.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna show you.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: I was shocked, I've never seen it before.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 29:22Sean McAllister: But I was also dancing so much and sweating so much that I was chugging water like a whale.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: I have 16 zone minutes from dancing.
- 29:34Sean McAllister: Oh, what are zone minutes?
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: That means when you really get the heart rate in the zone.
- 29:38Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: So you always want to be in the zone, not above it, not below it.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: The best place to be is in the zone.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: That's what it tracked, but I also I think I took my Fitbit off, or I put my Fitbit on like halfway because I was wearing a nice bracelet, and then I took it out of my purse and was like, I might as well record some of this.
- 29:56Sean McAllister: I was gonna say it went on for much longer than 16 minutes.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: But it just shows sometimes, you know, like it's just fun.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: Like dancing is fun, and it was so nice to see so many guys on the dance floor.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: It was just a blast.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: The music playlist was amazing, and we just we did really have a good time.
- 30:12Sean McAllister: Um and congratulations, Mark and Casey.
- 30:14Dayna Roselli: Yes, congratulations.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, we talked about some deals.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Guess what?
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: We've got more deals coming up in tips right now.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: And starting off the deals, let's head to Treasure Island.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: A hotel casino that does have free parking.
- 30:29Sean McAllister: They certainly do.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: They also have a$5 happy hour, Dana.
- 30:34Sean McAllister: Can you believe it?
- 30:35Sean McAllister: This is right up my alley.
- 30:37Sean McAllister: Uh$5 select draft beers every day from 10 a.m.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: to six p.m.
- 30:43Sean McAllister: This is at the breeze bar, uh, also at Gilly's and Golden Circle.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: That's not even happy hour, 10 to 6.
- 30:50Dayna Roselli: That's a long spread.
- 30:52Sean McAllister: That that is a long spread.
- 30:54Sean McAllister: 10 a.m.
- 30:55Sean McAllister: to 6 p.m.
- 30:56Sean McAllister: That's all day.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: All day.
- 30:57Dayna Roselli: And I feel like a lot of times we do talk about how we we've been doing a lot of specials at luxury resorts, higher-end resorts.
- 31:03Dayna Roselli: And I'm not saying Treasure Island isn't a nice resort, but it's nice to talk about some of these places where, you know, the everyday person that just loves to walk the strip and bop around to different hotels can actually get a good deal for like, do you just want a beer?
- 31:20Sean McAllister: And a$5 draft beer, that's a that's a steal these days.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: It really is, right?
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: And all those places Breeze, Gillies, and Golden Circle.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: So yeah, that's definitely worth a mention.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: And then half price games Wednesday, uh, or uh half price games Wednesday, so this is on Wednesdays, all games are half price.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: Treasury club members beginning in August, they have access to the property's pool Sunday through Thursday now, followed by a$25 food and beverage credit when you book a cabana.
- 31:58Sean McAllister: Great.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: So yeah, some good deals there, right?
- 32:00Sean McAllister: So there are just keep an eye out because there's tons of them out there.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: Uh Fountain Blue has also just launched uh uh program specifically for Las Vegas locals and Nevada residents.
- 32:16Sean McAllister: And there are oh my gosh, there's so many ways to like save and be rewarded for going over to Fountain Blue.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: And this is now through uh September 30th.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we ask because it, you know, it's for Las Vegas locals, but no and Nevada residents.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: So like you come in from Reno or you live anywhere in Nevada and you've got that Nevada ID, you're good to go.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: Uh, like you had said, Nevada residents too.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: I wanted to emphasize that.
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: Because sometimes people ask us like, wait, you say for locals, like just if you live in Las Vegas, like no Nevada ID.
- 32:50Sean McAllister: And sometimes it's like just Clark County and whatever.
- 32:52Sean McAllister: No, this is the state of Nevada.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 32:55Sean McAllister: Uh, and so let's dig into some of these deals.
- 32:57Sean McAllister: Okay, you can get room rates starting at$125.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: Great.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: Um, you know, there's taxes and fees on top of that, but um, that's a great room rate for Fountain Blue.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you just got to get that rewards membership.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: It's very easy, and there's so many perks, so keep that in mind.
- 33:14Dayna Roselli: But that that's a great, and the rooms are brand new and beautiful.
- 33:18Dayna Roselli: So, you know, that's a deal.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and then for different experiences, they have$200 day bed rentals at the Oasis Pool Mondays through Thursdays, complimentary entry to Live Beach on Fridays and Saturdays, complimentary entry to live Las Vegas at the nightclub on Sundays.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: And then also they're doing buy one get one tickets for the Hall of Excellence that they just opened.
- 33:44Sean McAllister: Great deal.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: That museum that has seven of Tom Brady's Super Bowl rings in there and Oprah's Medal of Freedom.
- 33:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, all sorts of and I think those tickets start uh 35?
- 33:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, I was gonna say under$40 for a ticket.
- 34:00Sean McAllister: So the buy one get one, that's a that's a great one.
- 34:03Sean McAllister: Uh tons of other uh experiential savings, 20% off your uh first treatment, uh a neutra dip IV lounge.
- 34:12Sean McAllister: This is over at the spa.
- 34:14Dayna Roselli: Um yeah, the neutra drip IV.
- 34:17Sean McAllister: Yes, yeah, and there's 20% off services at the uh IGK salon over on property, uh restaurants, there's savings at their restaurants too.
- 34:30Dayna Roselli: That's a good deal.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: 20% off dining at washing potato, lacote, vita, and q.
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: So that's great.
- 34:38Sean McAllister: And then there's additional uh deals at the bars and lounges.
- 34:42Sean McAllister: There's uh buy one get one deal at Azul.
- 34:46Sean McAllister: Uh this is for the Fletcher Azul margarita.
- 34:49Sean McAllister: Also in the nowhere.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: That's the mango rita.
- 34:52Sean McAllister: Oh, the mango rita.
- 34:53Sean McAllister: Okay, I'm I had my flavor wrong.
- 34:57Sean McAllister: The mango rita, buy one, get one.
- 35:01Sean McAllister: Also, the uh Aspen vodka espresso martini is buy one, get one at the nowhere lounge.
- 35:07Sean McAllister: And I love that place.
- 35:08Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, see, like right now I'm thinking like that's a great that would bring me to the nowhere lounge.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: 100%.
- 35:15Dayna Roselli: Buy one, get one.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: And they have a dance floor in there with live music, and they have uh, I think regulars who go in and do like legit ballroom dancing out there.
- 35:26Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 35:26Sean McAllister: So it's a fun place to go and just watch.
- 35:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:30Sean McAllister: I do not ballroom dance, but I will watch it happen.
- 35:33Dayna Roselli: Well, you never know.
- 35:34Dayna Roselli: If you get buy one, get one espresso martinis, you might start to ballroom dance.
- 35:38Sean McAllister: Well, who knows?
